with the new season of the bear coming out sunday is there any insight into the richie fic you had planned 😶? If you scrapped it I completely understand I was just thinking about it recently and started wondering, hope you’re doing well!!

i can't believe it's coming out so soon!! 😭 i'm not mentally/emotionally/spiritually prepared for it, tbh! or Richie. godddddd the ending of season 2 kept me up for two nights stressing. this show is stress osmosis, istg. but i'm still working on it! it's 23k and counting lmao. but i might split it into three parts to make it easier to read. part one should be up soonish if i do. probs next week since all i really have to do is edit it and refine the smut.

He's wearing a blue polyester tracksuit, one that you didn't think they sold anymore post nine-ninety five, and is covered in paint, dust. 

He stops when he sees you, brows knotting together confusion. Irritation, maybe. A tension falls, settles on your shoulders. 

You smile wide to try and break it, but it just makes him scoff.

"We're closed," he snaps, jabbing his finger toward the flipped sign dangling in the window. "Or can't you read, Princess?" 

The waspish tone makes your knuckles itch. You match ire with anger, and shrug. "I can read, but the door was unlocked, so—"

"So? You just let yourself in? Breaking and entering is real cute—"

"Thank you."

His jaw clenches. The divot between his brow drawing tighter together with his palpable irritation. You want to feed into it. To bask in his annoyance. To etch under his skin until you sit there, festering like a sickness. It's madness, maybe, but fuck. Fuck. You've been looking for something to sink your inches into since you stepped off the train in Chicago. 

He doesn't lash out, though. There's an ironclad control over his fury that sets your teeth on edge, that makes your finger itch with the urge to pull at the seams, at the ties that bind it together. 

It's childish, but you've always liked it best when people fought back. 

"What are you doing here anyway? We're not open," he snaps, and then he adds: "and we're not hiring, either." 

"Is that right?" You poke. "Pete sent me. Where is Natalie?" 

"Busy," he huffs, arms crossing over his chest. "Whaddya want?"

"Someone in charge."

The vein in his temple throbs. "I am in charge."

"Are you, though?"

"Been runnin' this place since before you could eat solid foods, Princess—"

He makes you want to bloody your knuckles on his teeth.

I Saw the TV Glow is such a uniquely, devastatingly queer story. Two queer kids trapped in suburbia. Both of them sensing something isn’t quite right with their lives. Both of them knowing that wrongness could kill them. One of them getting out, trying on new names, new places, new ways of being. Trying to claw her way to fully understanding herself, trying to grasp the true reality of her existence. Succeeding. Going back to help the other, to try so desperately to rescue an old friend, to show the path forward. Being called crazy. Because, to someone who hasn’t gotten out, even trying seems crazy. Feels crazy. Looks, on the surface, like dying.

And to have that other queer kid be so terrified of the internal revolution that is accepting himself that he inadvertently stays buried. Stays in a situation that will suffocate him. Choke the life out of him. Choke the joy out of him. Have him so terrified of possibly being crazy that he, instead, lives with a repression so extreme, it quite literally is killing him. And still, still, he apologizes for it. Apologizes over and over and over, to people who don’t see him. Who never have. Who never will. Because it’s better than being crazy. Because it’s safer than digging his way out. Killing the image everyone sees to rise again as something free and true and authentic. My god. My god, this movie. It shattered me.

Danny has discovered something absolutely amazing. While he can’t cook for shit, he can? Actually bake? Really well? Must be those bonding sessions in Long Now with Clockwork making all those cookies and cakes and everything else. 

But? This means he can A, actually make himself food, and B, has somehow befriended several more ghosts, including his rogues. Apparently he gave off bedraggled cat vibes when covered in flour. Or they just enjoyed the cupcakes he’d made to look like them in a sleep deprived ferver. 

But hey, he even has a decent job while he’s in (online due to medical issues, officially) college at one of the local bakery-cafes. Which means he also gets free coffee, so that’s nice too. Just erm, he might’ve gotten in the habit of handing cookies or other baked goods to anyone trying to attack him.

Look, it’s how he befriended his rogues (Apparently Fright Knight, being the ghost of Autumn, enjoys pumpkin spice cookies, who knew?) and they even continue to visit too. 

So really, it’s not his fault that there’s several goonion (honestly Sam will be pleased to learn they’ve got a union) members who are now constantly coming to the bakery. And- okay is that another undead person? Have a cupcake.

Eddie posts a Tiktok of an old home video taken almost right after he bought a camcorder. The band has just come off the stage and they’re walking down a hallway, amped up and loud. Just boys being boys.

Gareth is filming and Eddie is talking to the camera like, “Everybody always ask me. They say, ‘Eddie, what’s it like having your boyfriend at one of your shows.’ Or they would ask me that if they won’t skin me alive for having a boyfriend.”

Gareth, who is always worried Eddie’s going to accidentally out himself: Dude

Eddie: Relax. Skin all here. We’re good. I would respond to this question that no one would ask me because no one knows I have a boyfriend by looking them deep in the eyes.

Eddie: And I’d say, ‘It’s amazing having my boyfriend here because-

Eddie: *slams the door open to their small cramped dressing room so hard it nearly dents the wall*

The walls: *literally shaking from the band current on the stage*

And once again, I think I might have a hyperfixation rn, another deaged Dani (Ellie) and Dan (Dante)! and Dad!Danny.

And you know what, lets make it another DannyxConner idea.

Danny is on a field trip with his class (NOT in Gotham though, LOVE Gotham but lets go with a different city) in like Central City or Metropolis (If Metropolis, Danny is SUPER excited to see the space sections they have at the museum they no doubt have, because well SUPERMAN is an alien and based in their city. If in Central City Conner is visiting Bart.)

During the trip he bumps into Conner and the two just hit it off. Conner enjoys listening to Danny rant about space and the stars and finds watching Danny's eyes light up in joy kinda cute. And if he got his new hero name Supernova from listening to Danny's rants about the stars well... no one needs to know how he got it.

Danny likes how chill Conner is and how the guy stood against Dash and the other jocks when Dash decided he wanted to mess with Danny during the trip, a rare thing nowadays but sometimes Dash does try, and how he respects/likes Danny's friends.

He didn't even say anything negative or hurtful when he found out Danny has two kids back home.

In the end the two exchange numbers, flirt hard, and maybe set up a date in the future. And then more dates. Becoming boyfriends. AND meeting the family. Conner is smitten with just out of toddlerhood Ellie and toddler Dante and adores them. And he loves how the Fentons just love him the moment he stepped into their house and was introduced as Danny's boyfriend, he made sure to bring over a pie Ma should him how to make.

Things get a bit complicated when Conner, Supernova, is at a reunion of YJ members and his phone lights up with a text message from Danny.

He's smiling with a goofy/soft look when he opens the text and see's its a picture of Danny holding a pouting toddler Dante and Ellie on his lap smiling with a notable gap in her teeth at the camera. The message he got was 'Ellie wanted you to know she finally lost her first baby tooth. Dan's been grumpier, I think he misses you.'

He is pulled out of his happy thoughts and musings when he hears Bart gasp hard and drop a bowl of snacks onto the floor. Conner turns to from the future Speedster and see's him about to have a panic attack.

Bart, Impulse, is having a freak out after catching a glimpse of the text picture Conner had gotten and being nosy wanted to know what got his friend to smile so smitten. He knew of Conner's current boyfriend and the kids Conner adores but haven't had time to be introduced to them or even see a pic.

He wasn't expecting to see the very MONSTER of his NIGHTMARES that basically destroyed the world in the FUTURE as a toddler pouting at a camera and surrounded by two smiling identical looking people either. People he never saw in the future or with HIM AND-

Oh.... OH!

Was that why he turned evil? Did something happen to his family?

it continues to be wild to me that if you say 'i don't think, ethically, you should bomb people flat even if they're bad guys' someone immediately says 'but the bad guys want to kill you' like bruh so do some of my coworkers. im a midwest jewish faggot, i can assume any chucklefuck with a red hat is an occupational hazard. but i think probably there's a more ethical way to deal with people that want to kill me than to bomb them and their whole city flat. and as the one person in the 'but they want to kill you' situation whose life apparently matters without question, i would like us to try some other stuff first. before we bomb all the bad guys flat.

SO. Turns out that Danny is apparently a clone. Who knew? Not him! Would have loved to know that earlier, but he doesn’t exactly have time to freak out about that because Ellie is melting. She’s going to die if he doesn’t do something and he already gave so much ecto that they both look ten now, but the only thing he can do is pray to everything and Clockwork that this portal works. 

Because Ellie needs their Original’s dna to stabilize her, not his own slowly destabilizing blood, and that means going to another dimension to where they’re still alive. This has to work- even if they can never go back, it’ll be worth it if he can just make sure Ellie lives. She’s all he has now.
