Okay so the difficult part of "worst story" is that the worst book I've ever read at my current reading level might have been the best book ever a few decades ago, before my grasp of nuance and cohesive storytelling and realistic dialogue had grown to where it is, so "worst" here would be highly subjective and meant to be taken with a grain of salt

The worst book I've ever read, or at least the worst book I could have read at that particular time in my life, was The Tiger's Curse by Colleen Houck. I was about fifteen, it was about a girl who meets an Indian prince who's been transformed into a tiger, and something about the first ten pages pissed me off so bad I put it right back on the library shelf and spent half an hour verbally shredding it with my friends. Cannot recall a single detail.

The worst movie I've ever seen was Holmes and Watson starring Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly. My younger brother heard it was bad so we rented it for a game of Bad Movie Chicken to see who could sit through it the longest and we both tapped out at about ten minutes in. This is a kid who had seen Tommy Wiseau's The Room twice and said, quote, "it's not that bad". Its not even the kind of bad that's fun. If we'd been forced to watch it any longer I sincerely think I would have begun stabbing myself in the leg with a fork to distract myself. It was really really bad

honestly, yeah you're right

I understand that the Caribbean Islands are very small and not active in any modern political climate rn, besides Haiti i suppose, but they've played a big part in history. I can tell you, kids here don't know too well that Christopher Columbus never stepped foot onto North America, he instead invaded the Hispaniola. I don't think we learn about Taino history as much as we should which is honestly such a shame, and even in these countries themselves the students are really uneducated about the fact that most of our indigenous ancestors died off and we're mostly of African descent than we are indigenous(but of course no one wants to admit that because of extreme racism and colorism in the carribean Islands)

I also wish people in the US knew just how much the people of Haiti struggle. beyond just their poverty they are heavily discriminated against by Dominicans, and honestly that was so normalized when I lived there and seeing my friends being so casually insulted was, like, insane??? I hit a kid once for being racist to my friend #whitesavior moment(IM NOT WHITE THIS WAS A JOKE)

I just don't understand why classes won't talk about the Carribean Islands, they played such a big part in history and the era of colonization and trade and they still exist today and have their own issues like 😭 why don't people talk about them, please

I think they realized the problem of having all the notable guards of Bright Moon being Black so they made sure to include more white ones this season. Like they had them lined up from lightest skin to darkest skin. Uh. doesn’t make it any better that for this long ost of the servanty characters have been Black people working and defending for white people.

Almost every single background charcter is either a person of color or an animal person or both.

And yet

All of the protagonists are humans. And a lot of them are white humans.

If the diversity in your thing ONLY applies to background characters, a lot of whom are servants,,,,or in positions where they will give their lives to save your protagonists.......you aren’t sending a good message.
