There were two specific reasons Jimin loathes Econ with every fiber of her being.

Firstly, it’s boring as hell. Like, soul-crushingly boring. Jimin’s a psych major; she couldn’t care less about “utilities” or “scarcity” or whatever else their monotone professor drones on about at 1 p.m. while ignoring the sea of blank stares from the entire class. It’s like a live reenactment of suffering. Oh, and let’s not forget: the prof doesn’t answer questions, doesn’t explain anything in-depth, and lives for pop quizzes. You know, just to spice up everyone’s misery. Jimin walks into that classroom every day in a good mood after lunch, and then—bam. Gone. Obliterated the moment she sits down.

Second one is much more personal.

Her name is Ning Yizhuo.

Aka: the bane of Jimin’s existence. The most insufferable, obnoxious, bratty human being on campus. Possibly on Earth. Jimin would go as far as to call her tragic… because it’s really unfair and cruel that Ningning is also, quite possibly, the prettiest girl Jimin has ever seen.

She’s petite and slim with honey skin, delicate features, and soft golden-brown hair. Her eyes? Cat-like and mischievous, framed by ridiculously long lashes that honestly feel like a personal attack. And her lips? Glossy and pink. Perfect. So perfect, in fact, that Jimin can’t help but stare—until Ningning opens her mouth.

And then it’s over. Infatuation? Gone. All that fascination turns into full-blown irritation.

Oh, and it gets worse. Ningning doesn’t just exist in Jimin’s Econ class—she makes it her mission to exist right next to Jimin. Always within a few seats, always loud. Laughing. Clicking her pen. Talking to her quieter friend Minjeong like she doesn’t know the concept of an inside voice.

And let’s not forget their group projects. Ningning’s brattiness? It cranks up to eleven. She’ll fight Jimin on everything. Argue. Insult. Complicate. It’s like she was born to infuriate her.

But here’s the kicker: everyone else seems to just endure Ningning. Sure, there’s the occasional eye-roll or exasperated sigh from their classmates, but for the most part? They let her be. Jimin, on the other hand? No tolerance. Zero. Ningning’s laugh, her voice, her very existence grates on Jimin’s nerves like nails on a chalkboard.

It’s honestly baffling to Jimin how much power Ningning has over her. She’s usually so chill, calm, and unbothered. She never lets people like Ningning get to her, normally lets them wash right over her and stays unbothered. But for some reason, Ningning has lodged herself into her mind like an eternal distraction even when all she wants to do is ignore.

i find ganondorf to be a deeply compelling character. this is in part to the way pre botw zelda games utilized him as both a villain and as this symbolic culmination of evil.

now other games may have done this, but none immediately come to mind, as one of the most compelling aspects of ganondorfs character is that before botw? every instance in every game was the SAME dude (except skyward sword but ill talk about that later). that allowed games with stronger narrative focus to flesh him out in greater detail, while a game with a more cut and dry story but flashier cinematics could really sell his menace, and future iterations could carry the boons of both.

now the zelda timeline is a mess, and the games themselves were not built around that concept. at most youd get direct sequels like majoras mask, or games directly referencing an older title as part of their history, like twilight princess. one should not take the timeline as Word Of God Canon (even though there are multiple official books that reference it), but they all kind of work together to give you a bigger picture. this is especially true for the 2d zeldas, as Ganondorf The Character wasnt really an explored concept back then. you instead had dark beast ganon (who once took human form as dude named Aganhim but hes. separate. like hes canon and important but most of what he contributes to Ganondorf As Character is the dark evil wizard vibes).

in general, when looking at ganondorfs character youll mostly be examining four titles: Ocarina of Time, Twilight Princess, Windwaker, and Skyward Sword. skyward sword is unique in a lot of ways because it IS made with the "zelda timeline" in mind, and is the timelines official beginning. here we get the forging of the master sword, the first imprisoning war, and! a guy that is NOT ganondorf! demon king demise is the end game boss here, and while i could dedicate a post to analyzing his limited screentime, whats important to this convo is that demise lays a curse upon his defeat. those bearing the soul of the hero (link, who reincarnates), the blood of the goddess hylia (zelda, who does not and instead has descendants inheriting power) will be caught in a cycle of war and blood with the bearer of demise's hatred (ganondorf!). and THERES the money. that last part there helps contribute a LOT to further analyzing ganondorfs character throughout these games because, as mentioned before, they build on each other!

the plot of ocarina of time is not deep. its an enjoyable game, but like most zelda entries, its a paint by numbers tale of a good hero overcoming an evil villain who kidnaps a Notable Woman as the final build towards the climax, wherein you kick his ass free the girl and kill him. (kind of. ganondorf never really DIES) HOWEVER. twilight princess, windwaker, and skyward sword, by virtue of focusing on this SAME DUDE, end up giving a LOT of retroactive depth! its a really fun phenomenon!

that tears of the kingdom throws in the fucking trash! for!! some reason!! WHY. why the hell would you spend 25 years making a layer cake piece by piece and then throw it in the trash in favor of box mix cupcakes??? I DONT GET IT MAN.

totk isnt. a BAD game per se. theres a lot to enjoy about it.

tiptoeing around spoilers here but discussing them generally

the dragon tears are, among other things, about ganondorfs rise to power, to reach his current end game boss state. despite this. he has a grand total of three scenes before he GETS that power. one of which is him laughing, one of which is a poorer retelling of a scene from OoT, and the last one is his introduction where he does fuck all. WHERES THE MOTIVE HERE????

OoT is my least favorite entry of the 4 games listed above. it has a lot of dated narrative elements and systemic issues that continue to plague nintendo to this day (misogyny and racism as per usual). despite this, i find myself returning to OoTs narrative and characterization REPEATEDLY in totk because in so many aspects it just storytells better! yes totk is an open world game with a hands off narrative approach. but botw has that concept down pat and is a more satisfying experience. totk is a more narrative focused botw, and yet its storytelling sucks WORSE than botws and doesnt even measure up to OLDER TITLES. more detailed rants on that are for another time.

so what is a bitch with a special interest in zelda and a fixation on its most charismatic villain to do when presented with an otherwise enjoyable game that is deeply unsatisfying in regards to aforementioned autistic bitchs favorite villain?

due to aforementioned Ganondorf Characterization Layer Cake, theres a LOT of fun Implied Nuance to play around with, of most importance is ganondorfs relationship with the gerudo, and the gerudos relationship to hyrule. demises curse and the elements of destiny and fate add some fun compounding factors to really amp the tension up, but in my opinion only really ever serve as The Last Straw so to speak. its important that ganondorf is someone who chooses to be this way! but choices arent made in a vacuum, and prying those circumstances apart gives you so many potential ways for this to End Differently.

so seeing that TotK Ganondorf is NOT the OG OoT Ganondorf, the idea here is to further explore the concept of like. WHY is he a villain? villain is a socially constructed category afterall. how do you focus on those circumstances and their effects on a person? how does the political situation of hyrule play into this?

a personal favorite interpretation of mine (and other ppls judging by the plethora of fan content in a similar vein), is this idea of a Redeemed Ganondorf, a variation where ganondorf is NOT the final boss, but instead an ally of link and zeldas. wrt this particular au, that looks a lot like locking everyone in a room together and see who starts throwing things first.

so with that in mind, i just ended up going through scene after scene in totk and thinking of how a redeemable ganondorf would play out. what kind of personality would he have, how would he interact with these other characters, what are his relationships like? whats his driving motive, how committed to these ideas is he, whats his breaking point and why? and then playing with those ideas and throwing them against other characters, how does he interact with the sages, how does he interact with rauru, how does he interact with ZELDA?

a lot of that informs the baseline of how we ended up going through making the au (alongside a hefty dose of writers worldbuilding dilemma lmao) and also serves as the foundation of subsequent sequel aus that as of right now exist solely as amvs in my head.

so in summary theres two?? maybe 3??? that im just marinating in.

the main unnamed totk au, where the triforce trio work alongside each other to put an end to demises curse of hatred once and for all, with a large focus on character dynamics and their relationships to each other (and also plenty of self indulgence. ghirahim got tossed back in there. and fi)

and then, after that, a kind of hypothetical sequel game to totk au. set 100 years after the ending events of totk au, the trio + co navigate a world where the threat of ganondorfs rise to power is no longer the primary problem hyrule suffers, but instead a power vacuum in the realm of demons, leading to a slowly rising threat of demon incursion. focuses on how your "party" (ganondorfs reincarnation, links reincarnation, and a non-princess zelda, alongside naboorus reincarnation, and impa (neither a reincarnation nor a descendant but once again paying homage to impa as a recurring character)) gets along with each other and how, as the years go by (i have. TWO seperate time skips so far), their relationships to each other change, and how their goals and ideals grow and change in response to the shifting landscape of threat in hyrule

the last one, technically, is a modern au that mostly works as background context for triforce trio shitposting.

SOMETIMES i get a little sad (only a little) about how my undertale s/i has nothing to do with the events in undertale whatsoever, and just. have no idea nor could never fully understand what frisk and everyone else went through down there. like, sure, they can tell stories and possibly even visit the underground (i assume some monsters wanted to stay down there, too) but like. they have no way of grasping everything that happened to everyone. and im happy with my s/i the way it is so i guess there could POSSIBLY be an au where they fall down WITH frisk and go through the story together, but. well that has a lot of plot holes LOL

I love your anatomy/references posts & I love skulls and skeletons & I would love to know how you convince people to give you their animal heads to clean. Also any bone cleaning tips for suburban areas?? When I was living on a farm it was easy to leave stuff out and let the bugs take care of it but my parents said hard no to dead things bleaching on the porch

Oh this is very easy!

Find a friend or acquaintance with land and leave your stuff there. Bug cleaning and tub maceration don't need a lot of hands-on attendance so you can check in however often you like.

There's also "hot water maceration" where you simmer (dont boil!) fresh heads in hot water and remove the cooked meat by hand. Make sure you scramble the brains first and then cook away inside or with a camping stove on the porch. And "bleaching" which is done with hydrogen peroxide can be done inside since the skulls are already clean by then anyway.

I don't actually convince people to give me their pets. For livestock, I ask because most people aren't emotionally attached to their livestock.

For pets, I wait to be offered the remains. More on that under the cut.

TLDR: Know the pet owner, wait to be offered bodies rather than asking. Make sure they are always in control. Ask for livestock no problem. Don't let scavengers eat euthanized meat.

I don't ask for pet bodies. The trick is to be very open and excited about what you do so that people who know you know about bones and know that you are respectful of animal remains. Then, when a beloved pet dies, they might think about you.

Open up the conversation on death before it's relevant

You can also plant the seed ahead of time during a conversation about bones while the pet in question is alive and healthy. "Sometimes I do pets if their owner is ok with it, though most want to bury. Have you ever thought about that for Baxter?" It's in SUPER poor taste to do this while an animal is dying, when you'll need to be way more tactful.

Know your friend well enough to guess their feelings on it

It SUPER depends on the person and how they view bodies and death. My ex's dog passed away and he was always queasy about corpses. I comforted him and cried with him while his beloved 15 year old dog declined and passed. I didn't ask or even mention it because I knew him enough to know that he would say no, and that asking would be painful and upsetting for him to think about. Same with my dear friend and her 20 year old cat. She had a beautiful pet graveyard with headstones and everything. You just know not to ask some people because traditionally laying bodies to rest is important to them.

Other pet owners are chill about it, ESPECIALLY if they come from a livestock background. Livestock people are used to sending their animals to be recycled into glue and wax when they die, because it's generally not feasible to bury or cremate a horse. If someone does plan to take that on, you know they are absolutely dedicated to traditional burial and won't give you anything.

Make it their choice to offer, rather than it being your request

Anyway. If you know the person, and you know they might be ok with giving up their pet's body due to how they view bodies and death, then you work on making them think about you. First, you comfort and do everything you can to help the person through their grief. If you weren't already planning on doing that, then you have no business asking for their pet. Do not comfort someone in order to get something out of them. That's disgusting. Just straight up ask them for their pet and know that they will view you as tactless and rude, but its better than manipulating them.

What I do is not manipulation, it's reminding people what you do and then letting them make their own decisions. When your friend is feeling a little better and is not crying, you can ask about logistics. I ask "What do you plan to do for burial/with the body?" and that usually makes them think about me and what I do with bodies. If they already have a meaningful spot picked out to bury or scatter/keep ashes, then that means the body is important to them and I shouldn't ask further.

At this point, they should realize what you could use the body for and think about how they feel about that. This is when my sister (who has a livestock background) offered her dog to me. We talked about how she thought of bodies, and she thought that the soul is the only thing that matters and once her dog passes there's nothing important left. I did not say anything to convince her, these were all her own thoughts.

It's very VERY important to respect and love the pet owner because they're extremely vulnerable and emotionally raw. That's why I don't straight up ask, because when you're losing a pet, you don't want to feel like someone is trying to gain something from you.

If your friend says they don't know or haven't decided what to do for the body, you can gently say "Let me know if you want me to help bury it, to take it with me, or to just be there for you." This is a close-ended statement and not a question. A question means that your friend has to come up with an answer right there and then, while an offer is actionable. This puts the power and autonomy in your friend's hands, so that when they make a decision it comes fully from their wants and needs and is not about you and what you want.

Be there for them even if you get nothing out of it

If they don't offer at this point, they're not going to. Now hold up your end of the bargain and continue to comfort and help through the grieving process. Again, if you aren't already invested in this person enough to want to soothe and comfort and be there for the human person in the equation, then you have no business asking for their pet. When a pet dies, your first concern should be to the person. If it's not, then you aren't close enough to ask for goodies.

Helping someone grieve is not payment for their pet's body. If you realize they aren't going to give you something in return for your comfort and so you abandon them, you're a terrible person using their grief to manipulate them for your own gain. Comfort is not payment. Closeness in grief is a metric by which you measure "Do I have any business to ask?"

The pet owner runs the show, not you

Throughout this process, stress that the owner can change their mind at any time. You don't want the owner to think "I hate this but I can't back out now because I promised..." Even when they animal is all wrapped up an in your vehicle and ready to go, quietly tell the owner that they can still choose what happens and if they have second thoughts, that's ok and you won't be mad.

My sister let me be there for putting her dog down and it was all about her and her love for her dog. She carried him out and laid him in my trunk and we stood in the rain and talked and hugged. She then told me she was happy that he could bring happiness to someone in life and now still in death, but that she didn't want to know anything. I agreed not to tell her or post anything about processing her dog, so for her it would be like burial. The same thing happened with my other friend's horse. She spent some time with him and then as soon as he passed she drove away and let me do what I wanted. She didn't want to hear Any of it. Again, I didn't ask or even offer, she came up with the idea of giving me the body all on her own even before I knew he was dying.

Horse people are much closer to pet owners than livestock owners, but they are used to sending their friend's bodies off to a different kind of processing (at Tallow factories, livestock remains are ground up, cut apart, cooked, and spun around to extract various substances that become soap, glue, candles, etc) so they know not to think about what happens after death. It still depends on how well you know the owner and know how they think about death, but if you offer to handle logistics like dealing with the tallow guy, they can actually save money by letting you have it.

You're actually doing livestock a favor

Livestock people are generally chill and have a much more utility/asset view of their animals. If the animal doesn't even have a name they probably don't care what happens when it's dead. In fact, most farmers will jump at the chance to give you their animal for free because calling the tallow company to haul it away costs them money. This is also why in areas with lots of livestock, you sometimes find bodies dumped in ditches or left on the side of the road, because the farmer didn't want to pay to get rid of it so they made it everyone else's problem. Even pet animals like dogs and cats are more Utility than pure companions on a farm, so you might have a better chance of getting remains from a farmer than a neighbor.

One more thing about pets and livestock.

When I find a dead deer, I flay it open and let the vultures eat it. For domestic animals, they are often put to sleep via chemical/drug.

THIS IS POISONOUS TO SCAVENGERS.

DO NOT LET SCAVENGERS EAT EUTHANIZED ANIMALS

Seriously. If you like nature, you need to protect it. Deflesh it yourself, throw all the meat/blood/offal away or bury it 6 feet down. Idk what it does to the environment so I always freeze it and then throw it away on garbage day.

Rot bacteria and beetle larvae dermestids don't mind. In fact, dermestid droppings and pupa shells can be analyzed for toxins by forensic scientists to determine cause of death. Neat! Just make sure that if you process outdoors, the remains are EXTREMELY SECURE and cannot be opened by vultures, coyotes, or wild pigs.

Remember the living, human person

I know I look very clinical by picking apart human emotions, but I respond, feel, love, and grieve just like everyone else. I didn't plan how to get any of the animals in the above stories, I just acted on instinct and these are the ones where that paid off well.

Most of the time if I go "huh. I feel that may not go over well" I can then take that feeling apart and figure out why. So hopefully explaining how my feelings work it can help you listen to your most useful and most compassionate ones.

The living person is always more important than a dead pet. Sometimes you can get the dead pet without distressing your friend, sometimes you shouldn't even try.

Respecting the dead

A final note on working with pets vs wild animals. This is someone's family member, so don't play puppet with it like you might with a skunk skin. Don't take pictures of any part of the process until they are rendered to bones. Pictures of dead pet species are even more distressing to the general public than wild animals, and sick freaks might take your photos and send them to people for kicks or attention. Better to just not have photos than for that to happen.

What processing a pet feels like

Working on a pet is always going to be different for you, the vulture, than a wild animal. Everything you see is touched by human hands. My sister's dog was... beautiful. You don't really realize how moved you're going to be by seeing the perfect amount of healthy fat covering, or beautiful muscles that speak of exercise and attention. She rescued this starving pup and turned him into the healthiest animal I have ever seen. She's a vet assistant and the care and love she put into this dog had me sitting there crying while I held his paws; with their perfectly maintained clipped and sanded nails. I'd only met the dog once for a few minutes when he was alive, but his body was a canvas and every inch was painted with layers and layers of love. It made me so, so sad that his neurological issues couldn't be helped because his body was proof of someone who would stop at nothing to cure what could be cured, and that the last months of his life were happier than he ever imagined.

On the flip side, pets whose bodies show signs of neglect and abuse are going to hit you harder than any deer could. The dog I found discarded in a garbage bag on the side of the road had rotten teeth and nails so long they curled over themselves into hoops. An overgrown and suffering deer is just the sign of nature taking its course. An overgrown and suffering dog is the sign of human cruelty, of shirked responsibility.

Most pets you get will between these two dogs. No owner is perfect. Most old dogs have lost teeth to rot, sick cats too weak to scratch properly may have overgrown nails.

Death as beauty

A pet's body usually a beautiful story full of ups and downs; of owners doing things wrong and then doing things right. A vulture or an artist can read a body like rings on a tree and feel the heart beat in their chest that tells them how strong and full of love this life had been. You need to be ready for this part. Every detail is a message from your fellow human and even though we are all animals and we decompose into the same dirt, we're meant to connect to each other here and now.

Keep your emotions open when working with remains.

jaunes semblance has 7 aspects to it one for each color of the rainbow

There’s the color you think he is, the color he lives up to, it’s a lot of stuff. -Monty in Forever Fall commentaries which implys that yellow which jaune means is not  his true color theme

the symbol on jaunes shield  is a rainbow  and the french word for rainbow is arc en ciel  and jaune has 7 sisters and there are 7 colors of the rainbow

so it fits that the arc familys theme is supposed be having each members colors  to one of the 7 colors of the rainbow  but jaunes color is all 7 of the rainbows colors jaunes aura  is white 

which is the combination of all colors on the visual spectrum

consider jaunes base aura color as  white ( I have to point out when pyrrha used her semblance her aura turned black 

( when her aura color is red in its base state

)

and his activation of his semblance as a prism where depending on the ability he switches between seven colors of the rainbow (

so I think that while jaunes aura when he amplifies someone elses or his own aura is yellow 

and it changes when he chooses a specific ability which fits with the paladin/cleric/support role 

 2nd  semblance immunity/blocking : he  and the stuff he is using as a conduit for his aura is immune to  certain  semblances which is meant to put a sort of status effect on him or manipulate his body  like telekinesis or polarity ) or to put it another way if it begins to affect him/ if the person trys to use it on him  this ability nullifys it  and works passively for him   where itreacts when someone uses their semblance on him unless its not meant to hurt or mess with the person like rens semblance ( given the trust jaune has in ren  and knowing what rens semblance is when ren uses that on jaune he would subconsciously let it happen  and not have the semblance immunity goes off for it reacts to his desire or sensing a threat )  ( even if he is unaware they are doing it )  after he awakens the ability  ) or the stony glare  which is meant to paralyze an enemy one they look into their eyes or emeralds hallucinations ( but neos illusions would still not apply since its not meant to directly affect him  so semblances like ruby or yang wouldnt apply) or semblance nullification ( maybe) and  the semblance to steal someones semblance or 

think of it as him putting up a shield against effects of semblances of that type  or uses of semblances of that type meant to hinder someone or indirect attack etc) 

 and he can put up this shield for  other people  (in games there are spells to prevent debuffs 

the 3rd ability   the ability to undo the effects of someones semblances like for mercury he could restore mercurys semblance. or if yatsuhasi wipes someones memories jaune could undo that in rpgs there are moves/spells to undo / cure status effects on someone like ( blind, petrify, stun , forget etc ) 

4th semblance  ability to sense someones semblance being used to react to it ( a passive one )  and when he gains it the semblance blocking will activate depending on the type of ability it is )

5th aura constructs  the ability to make constructs of aura  like wings (  vine suggested extending his aura to jaune when he was falling   I thought what did vine mean by that   and then I came up with this ability because how  would extending his aura stop him from falling or being grabbed )

and jaune having angel wings would make him an ARCangel (a term for angel of high rank)

it would allow him to create constructs  of his aura like cinder using her semblance to make weapons ( and this will make it so that pyrrhas polarity wouldnt work against jaune (and I like that idea ) if he created weapons out of aura like cinder creating glass weapons and it will be fitting if his semblance grows to allow him to take a page from his enemy cinders

what if in the case of say jaune losing an arm he will be able to create a prosthetic made of pure aura that will work like a normal arm and after he made it it doesnt cost him any aura  maintaining its existence  it only costs aura to create it once he makes it it stays in existence without using up any  aura   (and he can  choose to undo his creation at will   with 0 aura cost)   so while cinder has a grimm arm which would allow her to absorb the maidens power but it has a weakness of cinder being unable to use her aura   on it to protect it for grimm are beings of darkness which lack aura  because they have no souls  jaune will have a arm   made of aura where after creating it ( and its actually even stronger than his original arm ) he is able to use his aura on it to further protect and strengthen the blows dealt by the arm  (like how when mercury blocked yatsuhashis sword strike it with his legs the fact that they are metal means that he doesnt need to cost as much aura to protect from his hit)  and the force by the things the aura arm can bring .

and is able to cover his scars with aura construct

and what if jaune is able to make it so his fake arm made out of aura  look and feels like a real arm like hisoka  from hunter x hunters texture surprise

so jaune could use his ability to make it so his fake arm made of aura will look and feel like a real arm and cover up someones scars and make it look like the person didnt have any scars on their body to the point that it would feel like real skin. and after that ability is used it doesn’t cost  any more aura there is no aura cost to maintaining the aura constructs existence or making it feel and look like something else.

Everything that makes Rosie Rosie, Every way in which she acts and how she thinks, is truly just a compilation of fragmented personalities and learned traits she has picked up throughout the assortment of people she has met in her life -- some people a more significant influences than others.

The thing about Rosie as a person is that her entire life, from the moment she awoke as a moon, or when she awoke in that body in the hospital, has been shaped and formed around violence in some way, shape, or form. As a Moon, her purpose was to keep balance and preserve the Heavens from the voidborns and demons lurking in the dark. She was built to kill monsters, as much as she was to nurture them, and guide the lost/tortured souls of the dead back to their final resting place. Violence was expected to be used the moment she was born and endowed with the powers she was given, even in her chains. As a human, It was her mother’s violent tendencies to get angry and throw things that caused most of the hardships between the parents. Its why Rosie ran away and nearly(did) died in the first place, and the aftermath split up the family for good. There is the scenes of domestic violence with her mother’s poor choice in men, and there is the idea that it shouldn’t be allowed to happen. What she sees is her mother getting back up no matter the circumstances, and fighting through it.

Skip down the line when she lives with her father, and is recruited and placed under the mentorship of a government mercenary/bounty hunter named Nova Von Ritter , who has absolutely zero discretion or hesitation in using violence to get her way. In doing whatever it takes to get the job done. And she didn’t care that Rosie was only a 13 year old girl being taught this. She did not hesitate to force Rosie to understand that every aspect of herself, and the world around her, can be used as a weapon -- Nova utilized humiliation and unwanted physical contacts(you can take the context with what im getting at) as punishment and reinforcement to teach her. Nova tortured, she manipulated, she fucked, and she killed whoever and whatever she needed to to get her pay. While she cared for Rosie(In an unhealthy way, seeing Rosie as just a person and not really a child under her care), the ideals that she taught her was that the way to make it in the world was to be violent. You’re either the victim or the assailant, and you dont let yourself be the victim or the world will eat you alive. This mindset of Nova entirely contrasted with the kind of man Rosie’s biological father was. Roland was a politician. He was a silver tongued man of diplomacy and survival, but getting his hands dirty with physical violence was not his style. He was a man for his people, that believed in unbiased justice, and doing what was right even if it was unconventional. He was a man of principle that wanted his daughter to be anything that would keep her away from the dangers of the ugly world, and yet it was by Rosie’s choice that she went against that wish, solely because she wanted to prove she could be strong. Without knowing just what was really happening to Rosie under the watch of Nova, Roland wanted to shelter Rosie from the world, but in the end he fell victim to it as well. He is found hanging from the staircase and the police rule it as a suicide, with no evidence they could find to say otherwise, as if Rosie was a fool who failed to notice her father was suicidal ( which was not the case.). The system failed her father, and it failed her. The story shifts once again, she is shuffled off into another set of hands by the Calvary. And taught new ideals once again.

In the Calvary she was beaten. She was manipulated and abused to follow orders, and no one heard her cry. Here the ideals were that anything not human was the cause for all the wrongs in the world, and so to correct it they killed the problem. They killed ‘Monsters’ ; They killed men, women, and children without batting an eyes. Because they were tainted, because they didn’t fit their ideals that made a better world. You were either in the plan of greatness or a flaw to be eradicated. She trapped in another cycle for years, until blowing the place up was her only means for escape. A slate cleaned by flame, she starts life anew... taking care of a monster, and killing to keep her  fed and alive for 8 years to follow.

Violence, Violence, and more Violence. Rosie’s entire life and world is perpetually trapped in this horrendous cycle and fixation that Violence is an element of life she cannot live without. And as hard as she tries to break it, in the end it is all she knows to fall back on. Rosie never understood how to be ‘normal’. Or what ‘normal’ even is.

 She is a mess of coiled, suppressed rage for her mistreatment in life just waiting to explode with just the right trigger. Just to uncoil, and then rewind and wind again until another time.

    What is left in the aftermath is that Rosie as a person, with her sick and misshapen mind, tries to filter out the GOOD and the BAD ideals from all these people that have shaped her to this very moment in her life. In the end, she is always easily overwhelmed, and each separate thought becomes a muddled message she can’t quite distinguish singularly as right or wrong. Because her ever changing emotions, and ever changing state of mind, every version will seem right to her when her emotions take the wheel under the high pressure.

In the end,  Violence is needed to survive. It can’t be avoided, it can’t be completely erased because it is an instinct in her muscles and her mind too deeply embedded to be pulled away. But Violence can be used to bring justice when a system and words fail to accomplish the desired goal. Violence is something she can’t live without.. but now that she is older, the very least she can do is try to control it.
