i cannot express how much i adore the dinner scene in 1x01. i think about it constantly. theres so much covert queercoding for mike that it literally drives me crazy.

the fact that just a bit before this we have the scene with joyce and hop where they imply that they are scared that will has been a victim of a gay hate crime. and throughout the season its implied over and over and no one really seems to give a shit. not even lucas and dustin. they care about will DEEPLY ofc but the fact that most ppl are expecting him to be dead and killed bc hes gay doesnt seem to bother them? the scene where troy is bullshitting about will in the gym they both just stand there, they dont make any move to stop him or call him out. no one does (this isnt me calling lucas and dustin bad ppl or not allys or wtv but u get the point).

mike however does give a shit. he gives QUITE A FEW shits.

in the dinner scene mike is clearly distressed about his friend. which is a perfectly heterosexual thing to do. in general. however hes not straight so its gay when he does it. ANYWAYS. he is clearly distressed about it but his entire family is completely unconcerned. nancy is preoccupied and doesnt give a shit. hollys a baby. ted is well ted. and karen. i need to talk about karen for a sec.

karen ADRESSES that she thinks something bad happened to will by telling nancy she cant go to barbs house until will is found. however she acts very dismissive of wills situation in general. im sure she was worried for him but she does it (or at least expresses it) is a very passive way. she is not focused on will being missing or what may have happened to him, just the fact that something bad happened in general to a person in hawkins.

the fact is, besides mike, karen is the only one worried at all. and shes not even close to matching mikes energy in the slightest.

when mike mentions steve, the conversation is totally derailed from will. as if it wasnt an important conversation in the first place.

nancy storms off. and ted. oh ted you son of a bitch. ted says the classic

line. and what a line it is. due to all of the references prior to this and the fact that most ppl believe that somehting bad happened to will. its not hard to see that ted is once again referring to will being hate crimed.

karen glances at ted, clearly understanding what he means. and mike does too.

Headcanons I've been cooking;

-the paradise theater doing a mystery science theater 3000 bit most days (I'm like 90% sure that its basically the equivalent in their multiverse anyway, oops)

-he still talks to his mom and plays catch up even from space despite the time it takes to send messages. David continues to find her drunk calls entertaining (canon anyway) Caspar doesn't really drink alcohol and is worried about the loss of control, I think hes just anxious and insecure about it.

So. Im not out to my best friend as being trans.. she doesn't know yet.

My problem is that shes pregnant and wants me there in the room for the birth of her baby along with her husband, and i am so honored and excited! I want to be there to support her through this moment!

However, i havent come out to her yet.. and we havent talked about our thoughts on trans people much, so im not sure where she stands exactly. It seems more like she doesnt understand or agree with it but she wont be a dick to people about it which is just the vibe i get from the one day we kinda talked about it because her grandparents were listening to transphobic shit on fox news while we were in their house. So i know, for sure, her family wont support me (at least her parents and grandparents) so i won't be able to see them after transitioning, but i dont know what to do about my friend. It scares me thinking that she wont want to see me again.. maybe i'll make her uncomfortable? Maybe her husband will be uncomfortable?? I mean me and her are very close and everyone makes jokes about how we are "gay for each other" (even her husband makes this joke) but how will that relationship translate when i look and sound like a man? I just feel like im gonna make things awkward and she (or her husband) wont want me around as much or at all.... i mean dont get me wrong i understand boundaries and being respectful, i wasnt and don't do anything line crossing even now, but from her husbands place i can see how my transition might change his entire perspective or feelings on my friendship with her.. But the main difference between them is that Alicent had gained nothing but privileges as the wife of the King and having the possibility to give birth to legitimate children by him. She had been given plenty of advantages for herself and for her gold digging family.

Rhaenyra was not so lucky. Her marriage to Laenor brought her nothing but trouble and hardship, and Alicent mercilessly took advantage of that. Rhaenyra was the Heir to the Throne. She needed to produce heirs more than Alicent did. Rhaenyra was already in a vulnerable situation. She needed to at least prove her fertility and give birth to heirs so she could solidify her position. Laenor stood in the way of that, because he obviously couldn’t put a child in her no matter how much they tried.

And so, Rhaenyra had no choice but to take a lover who gave her children of questionable parentage. Children she loved, and children who although proved her fertility, constantly put Rhaenyra is a defensive state.

The poor girl was between a rock and a hard place. Either have children who are not Laenor’s, or not do anything, have no children, and let the greens whisper poisonous and treasonous words around Court of how Rhaenyra is barren and unfit to be Queen because she has no heirs. Either way, the greens would have found arguments to use against her ascension, and steal her inheritance.

I am a little concerned considering the run time is only 22 minutes, and as an ace attorney fan I do not think that is enough for a compelling legal procedure, there's a reason the courtroom scenes were the least compelling part of the Ace Attorney anime (despite my love for it, and to be fair they were still great they just lacked a lot of the details and mystery)

Back to the ranting! Ohhhhh boy, okay why are the Sins here again? I can understand Satan, since imps are his rings’ native citizens, but the others? I can understand them being here if this was some major crime in Hell, but I.M.P has been running for A WHILE, and Asmodeus is aware of it and they're literally under his jurisdiction ACCORDING TO STOLAS! So, by all accounts, he might be the only other Sin relevant to this case. Moreover, we know the Sins hold somewhat equal power (save for Lucifer, maybe), and we know Succubi and Incubi work under Asmodeus and are legally allowed to traverse the human realm, correct? Therefore the I.M.P crew technically count as Ozz's employees, no? And due to his influence and the fact that his rings’ natives are allowed to travel wherever, this case should've been thrown out as Blitzø technically isn't breaking demon law, from my understanding. You could argue that this for when he was using the Grimoire, which is fair, however calling I.M.P an illegal business is a stretch. Besides, Asmodeus was aware of the Grimoire thing  and didn't do JACKSHIT! He didn't even have a reaction! That immediately undercuts any conflict regarding it as it implies that this is not that big of a deal, so the Sins being here genuinely just feels like conflict for the sake of conflict and to hype the episode as being the first appearance of all of them (minus Lucifer) together and showing off Leviathan and Belphegor.

its the combination of great writing, great acting and great cinematography that made me feel shocks of electricity in my veins cause of how much I was so emotionally impacted by this moment. How Pran was so painfully in love with Pat and knowing that Pat finally feels the exact same but also.. he can’t. He can like anyone in the world. He knows his mum doesnt have a problem with him being gay.. just not Pat. It pains him so much that out of everyone he’d ever known and met, the one person he actually wants, who also wants him too, is the one person that would break his mums heart and trust. The clear need and relief in Pat’s eyes meeting Pran eyes that are filled with want and pain and hesitancy… just.. OH I was sobbing.

man… maaaaaaaaannnnnn!!!!!!!! No words were said the entire scene (at least thats how I remember it) and it was just Oh Aew in his room. Excellent acting and direction. You can feel how sad and heartbroken he was to be in his own body at that moment. it was just so SO painful and heartbreaking to see a baby gay clawing at himself and curl up and cry… like he was questioning himself, would Teh have hesitated is he was a girl instead..?

is it cheating if I added another Oh Aew moment…. NOPE. After catching Teh and whats his name kissing, he gave Teh a chance to explain himself… but he lied. HE FUCKING LIED!!!!! I wouldve said their breakup is the most heartbreaking moment (cause it was brutal) but the soul shattering moment is when Teh lied about where he was and Oh Aew just wasnt having it. PP is an amazing actor and I need him to come back to acting (which im pretty sure he will next year) cause his eyes.. you just.. UGH! I can’t.

Hao Ting who grew so much as a person, learned to be open about his feelings and became someone full of love and life turn into a person whos stuck grieving over the love of his life who isn’t technically dead but isn’re there anymore. What else can I say other than I was sobbing so much, its the only BL that I’ve had to actually call someone for comfort cause it hurt me so much.

squoop was having a "spring cleaning" moment, which basically means for the first time in months she remembered that she actually has to be a functional adult and tidy her house. scrubbing her wood floors on her hands and knees like she was trying to turn it into diamond. once she had finished dusting the kitchen, and organising her chests, she moved onto lucas' room.

now, going and cleaning her teenage sons room while he wasnt there did feel a little intrusive, but the layer of dust on the shelves was borderline criminal. sighing and fluttering haphazardly onto the shelving, she covered her mouth as plumes of thick dust were disturbed by her feather-duster. coughing slightly, she scanned the room for more things that needed some TLC.

heres a fun fact about Squooples son, Lucas. (this is relevant i promise) he loves to leave little notes on his walls, his thoughts, messages for squoop, happenings in his own little world. And squoop LOVES IT she finds it so adorable.

She ran her eyes around the signs, remembering most of them, frowning at some, smiling at others. But she noticed two newer, much less dust-coated signs.

to get this out of the way: as i said, though i miss wesley very much (ask catherine i say so like every episode) it's so fortunate that he was not here. i think bev finally hit menopause because her horny levels were CRITICALLY off the charts and this whole debacle would have been so awkward for him. i'm glad he sent her a letter god bless i'm so glad he's fine wherever he is

the BABY BUMP THIS GUY HAD. this i was not expecting. i didn't know we were doing pregnant men in this episode. i figured the entire episode would be about beverly being like "this is weird cuz idw fuck you now that you're a woman" i had no idea his ass would jump into RIKER

riker did amazing bg work in this ep too before he got to star. he gave beverly and her bf some KNOWING looks. at one point the following exchange was uttered: "HE knows they're fucking." "yeah he wishes it was him." apollo and the dodgeball.....

i spent the whole ep thinking no way can beverly fuck riker. they have to work together. she has to look him in the eye after this. AND THEN THEY DID.

like it's so insane. it's not even that i dislike the concept because the fallout could lead to some extremely meaty interpersonal drama except for the fact that star trek generally isn't about interpersonal drama and we didn't see riker again after he got possessed. we didn't get one word from him. the silence seems so calculated so as to avoid having to write his reaction. BUT I WANTED HIS REACTION. will he not tell us how it feels to be possessed and pregnant and FUCKING BEVERLY CRUSHER? genuinely this is the first time i've been tempted to look up tng fic. someone tell me there is fic

also, like, he only had 18 hours until he got a new body. she could have waited to fuck the new guy if she felt weird about it being riker. SHE didn't know the knew guy was gonna be a woman. like it had to be menopause

okay. genuinely i am SO pleasantly surprised by queer as folk omg... went in expecting Nothing bc its by peacock and nbc so like </3 but it was really good! the acting was quite good overall, i think the chemistry between everyone (friendship & relationship wise) was pretty believable, the representation was so SO nice (especially compared to the original, which was absolutely abysmal. my god.) and felt Genuinely like a realistic portrayal of the lgbtq+ community without feeling like characters were thrown in just for inclusion, yknow what i mean?? like, they all feel like people, not just markers to point at and say 'look! the show is inclusive!' which a lot of shows (even gay-centered shows) do. and i do also like the nods to the original series, though there are some things i wish they didnt do. love that babylon is still the club, i enjoy the way it brought back the story line of brian + melanie & lindsey by way of brodie + ruthie & her partner (i do not remember the nonbinary lesbians name i am So sorry) and how justin naming the baby in the original series was reflected in mingus (maybe) naming the twins here, but i dont like that the fact that brodie & mingus seem to have the same age gap as brian and justin. like it wouldnt be so hard to have mingus be an adult. why is he 17 it makes no SENSE i was yelling at my computer screen like why. why bring that aspect back!!! that was such an issue the first time around omggggggg 😭😭😭 like if that wasnt a thing i would be a-okay with most of the show but literally. why. why do that

overall tho i think it was a good reboot and kept the spirit of the original series while still making it new and improving upon some things. really sad tho!!! def cried at some points :(((
