working theory is that it's harder for me to watch something in french with english subtitles than to watch something in french with french subtitles. which isn't what i would have expected, since i'm not fluent in french, and i do still to some extent have to translate french into english in order to understand it, though not fully. so you'd think having an english translation already available would make things easier. but actually it's kind of distracting because then i'm taking the ~half of the french sentence i actually picked out and reverse engineering the english translation to figure out what the other half must have been. which it turns out takes more time and effort than reading captions that match the audio even if they are both in a language i only kind of sort of know. maybe also because i'm actually pretty good at reading french at this point? further research needed.

soooooo incheresting. i just watched a video that counted all the times dean said cas and castiel through out the series and it kept a count of the castiel's separate. he said castiel a total of 16 times throughout the whole series and SIX of those times were in season 6!!!! and every single one of those in season 6 was dean praying to him. which notably none of the other castiel's were part of a prayer. god dean is just like....pining for cas so hard in season 6 and after they stopped the apocalypse it's like castiel just drifted so far away from him and he got all powerful again and dean KNOWS that something is going on with him but cas is just keeping him at such a distance (because he's trying to protect him from everything going on with heaven's civil war). so suddenly when dean's praying even when he's making a joke of it (which is often) he's saying castiel instead of cas.

i just dont buy the „no alternatives“ argument. there are alternatives but impoverished women are systematically pushed into prostitution by their families and partners, by social workers and feminists telling them its a choice without questioning why men dont choose it, by employers who know this is a last resort for women and choose to employ men instead, and there is no pushback because the men as a class also profit from prostitution, as sex buyers and competitors on the regular job market.

and then we are being pitched that these women actually have no options? be for real

of course women will say its their choice if they are being told from all sides and are systematically kept from pursuing other options.

Hello, I would like to ask: What was the moment when Javier's rating of Lloyd increase the most in the novel? I'm new to this fandom and just picked up the novel a few days ago but am already getting obsessed with their relationship :)

it is in one of my favorite moments of the whole novel <3

spoilers for ch 320!

when lloyd is finishing the jewel of truth an angel, raphael the throne, descends from heaven and tells him he's going to demolish the building for legal reasons. and when lloyd obviously refuses to let him, raphael tries to execute him for defying the will of heaven.

and javier doesn't allow it of course.

and it's in this moment, when he's literally facing off an angel and going against heaven itself to protect lloyd that javier wonders... why? why is he going so far to protect this man? why is he trying so hard to keep safe someone who has lied to him for so long? someone who isn't part of the family he swore to protect?

he doesn't really know. there just one thing clear in his mind.

I want to protect him. Lloyd is my true master in my heart. Lloyd was his friend. And now, Javier wanted to protect Lloyd. He would sincerely protect him with everything he had.

and it's when he realizes just how much lloyd truly means to him, how much he genuinely cares for him, that the RP system fully reflects javier's feelings about lloyd.

i really love the confirmation that javier is so good at emotionally repressing himself that he only realizes how deep his feelings about lloyd are long after they came to exist.

especially because in this same scene javier realizes there's a reason he wants to protect lloyd more than anything but he can't put a name to it and eventually decides that it doesn't really matter because he already knows lloyd is his friend and that's enough anyway.

like. canonically. javier has a deeper reason to care about lloyd beyond just being his friend. one he can't fully identify. one he puts aside to figure out later because lloyd being his friend is enough to justify putting his life on the line for him right now. and we find this out right before we get confirmation that javier is very good at burying feelings that have been there for longer than he's been aware of.

In Forest Spirit AU, I wanted to give some screen time to Schlatt and Wilbur. I don't know if I'll ever get around to that, considering that one has taken a back seat for now, and it would've taken a looott of work to do what I planned. Maybe I'll write it out some day.

No Mans Land has plans for Punz to play a roll, which will be incheresting. He and Dream won't be great at communicating :] If only it wasn't taking me a million years to get there.

c!Quackity is also ssoooo fun, and I'd love to do more with him. Maybe in Cave AU...? Since Sam is already a part of that and that just makes sense to me, though I don't currently have any plans. But there's a loottt of room for me to fit stuff into that one.

But speaking of Q, I'd like to do more set in the world Roulette was written in too, since that was so enjoyable to write. Perhaps a bit more self indulgent but aayy thats okay. Getting to focus more on the Las Nevadas gang was a nice change of pace!

Fun fact I was a big 5up among us enjoyer in the second half of 2020 before I got into the dream smp and I joined this discord server from a person that posted 5undy clips on YouTube for shits and giggles. Anyway I was wondering what happened to them cuz 5up and fundy had a big falling out (i can't confirm this and this might be complete misinformation. But I was told they flirted & hung out a lot on stream and 5up caught actual feelings but fundy is straight??) and never interact anymore but the discord still lives and now I'm miles deep into digging into incredibly niche drama over this discord server between people that play on the communitys minecraft server and other people who feel like the whole discord has been overtaken by the minecraft people . And that's what I did this evening ! 😁

so, due to recent staff activity a few days ago i have made these two anti terf trigun posts.

originally i only planned on making the elendira one as it is mainly transfems being targeted by nuking, but in the end i made a vash/transmasc version too. this has turned into an accidental experiment of sorts that further confirms what everybody already knows: that transfem content and people are clearly discriminated against.

despite the difference in notes (mere 129 notes as of writing this on the elendira one while vash's version has 251) only the transfem one got two terf replies (which i deleted and blocked the blogs) and now it has been flagged as well:

the transmasc/vash version - even though it is linked in the caption - received neither of these things. incheresting!
