Inchie we need your words of reason again 🙏 Newer fans have bled over from other hockey rpf and keep crossing lines 🫥
babe idk how wise I am ?? at all but I'm a firm believer in using common sense about rpf. and I haven't personally seen the stuff you're alluding to but! I've seen posts referring to it and I heard smth about another ship suffering a containment breach… so can't hurt to throw my 2c in as well ?? idk?
tl;dr that landoscar is NOT the ship for you if you 're going to try and force it to be "real" in a l*rry way*. this ship adores the real life friendship without having it compete with the guys' other many friendships - and we do NOT hate women and women partners or pretend they're beards/fakes/conveniently open relationship. and we absolutely do NOT push rpf outside of fandom. you'll get blocked/reported if you do. this is NOT the space for you to find your next "omg what if they're actually fcking" ship. Lily and Oscar are basically forever, Lando is rightfully loving his life sharing his beautiful body with people, and the fan fiction for the ship is staggeringly amazing so we're very very happy w the status quo <3
and we do NOT share rpf content with Lando, Oscar, anyone in F1, the families - basically if they're not someone you know solely in fandom, you don't share rpf with them. again, you will not find support for that here.
I "officially" joined landoscar fandom around Silverstone 2023 and these have been the hard lines taken for as long as I can remember and from all of the OG people in this fandom. esp from people who've been here since Oscar's Alpine tweet bc landoscar is unique in not having led with a PR image and we've all gotten to see every nervous, stumbling and authentic progression of their partnership and friendship along the way - at no point feeling the need to cross the boundary between fic and reality. it truly is charming and intriguing and rewarding as it exists in reality!
as far as the 'why' essay I'll drop all that where it can be ignored easily aslfgjalgf
like I said - landoscar has always been the exception of no one ever slipping over into trying to "make it real" in large part bc Lando and Oscar don't do the PR bromance/fake gay/fan service stuff which !reminder! is content in other ships I absolutely eat up and is 100% targeted to me but !! I'm also aware is connected to a lot of inappropriate fan behavior from ppl who blur the lines between amusing PR content and reality. trust me, I had to basically abandon carland0 which was my very first f1 ship bc to this day - fully out in the open - I see casual misogyny thrown around about Rebecca and ppl truly loudly thinking Lando and Carlos - who have always referred to each other as brothers and who laugh at the "gay" stuff they do precisely bc it's not real - genuinely fcked and/or dated. I will never care enough about an rpf ship to willingly encounter that shit on a regular basis. I know there's a lot of good ppl in the ship who don't engage in that stuff but I have such a hard line about wag hate that it's not worth it for me.
ironically or maybe because of, Lando and Oscar are the only drivers to NOT engage in playing gay for laughs BUT also who hit multiple progressive bullet points in things like discussing romance and dating in gender neutral terms and not making a big deal out of consuming or discussing queer media etc. they actually walk the walk in not pushing gender identity or sexual orientation on hypotheticals or on each other. they also don't do any macho/tradmasc behavior with each other or even bro-ey stuff like rough-housing or loud, aggressive humor (nothing wrong with loud bro stuff tho as long as it doesn't veer into toxic territory! I come from hockeyblr originally so it can be really sweet!)
and landoscar is also the exception in that we all ADORE Lily and have zero interest in trying to erase her let alone anyone be hostile toward her. in straight people culture they're basically already married and that's how they were when landoscar started as a ship! a lot of us have regularly made posts similar to this for newer fans to remind them that Lily (and whoever Lando ends up with as a steady partner) are NOT pawns in an rpf game. Lily is a real human woman with a real life relationship with Oscar and while no one is obliged to engage w wag content, respecting her existence is the bare minimum expected.
the last point I should make is that there's a very clear difference for instance on my blog where I see fanservice ship content about say charl0s or frand0 or n0rtrell and lose my mind over it and love it etc. but then there's Alex or Rebecca or Pietra on my blog! bc I can have fun without erasing women or losing common sense!!
whereas whenever I post stuff about a friendship that rly does make me Feel Things and write my insane essays, it's bc of what the relationships verifiably are and not what they aren't. Max F truly has a complexity and level of depth in his relationship with Lando that is unique and special to each other's lives. in the same way, Lando and Oscar truly do have a particular charm and fondness for each other that's made them approach each other unusually tentatively and slowly - while also having such intense blushing fondness as well as a uniquely intriguing maturity to their professional partnership. this stuff is fascinating and those two examples in particular swim around into all kinds of social/emotional territory.
in ways that do not require conspiracies and fan theories of them fcking or dating to make them compelling.
(and tbh the fact that Lando has some form of "crush" on a lot of handsome men and subconsciously/consciously "flirts" is absolutely fine to enjoy... as long as none of it gets outside of fandom.)
and the fan fiction for landoscar is truly TRULY staggeringly prolific and immensely talented so that's where we go for imagining them in any other type of reality <3
*do not get mad or whatever abt this - if you did or still do just want to ship l*rry privately then whatever but that's the like terrible gold standard for horrific real life repercussions of taking rpf seriously and why fandoms should never ever allow that to happen. there's no debate about that.

This was 100% indulgent by me and not requested (which is why it came out off schedule lol). I know I usually write for classic Sans, but along with Horrortale, Dreamtale is and always has been one of my favorite AUs, so I wanted to write something for Nightmare. Hope you guys enjoy this unexpected work :3
DREAMTALE - Nightmare Romantic Headcanons (indulgent with you as his lover)
Dreamtale is an extremely complex story with extremely complex characters that I have been figuring out for the past several years, trying to get my hands on the most canonical information about Dream and Nightmare and the story itself, especially with how muddled their characters have become within the fandom. If you like the stories where Nightmare is soft and cooing and Dream is a bully and is toxic, then this probably won't be an enjoyable read, but as all of my followers know, I always try my best to stick to how the characters canonically act. I could ramble on and on about this AU in particular and about how misunderstood both Dream and Nightmare are, but that’s something I’d only do if my opinions on it were requested since it would be an extremely long ramble.
The background for these headcanons can be whatever you wish, but just know that behind these it’s implied that you’re being forced to stay with Nightmare (you’re a bit silly like me if you’d ever willingly stay with him.)
DATES / ROMANCE
- While I do love the romantic aspects that Nightmare himself can be implied to have, I mean the setup is perfect for romance (beautiful dark castle, dark, brooding character, etc), I just don’t see him wasting his time being romantic.
- The exception is that he is a manipulator, and will do/say things that don’t seem in character at all for him so that he can win you over and make you believe that somewhere in there he is good and that he can change (it’s never gonna happen, baby), but I don’t see him doing these things without ulterior motives.
- Maybe he’s noticed that you don’t seem to be as keen on him as you usually would be, that his unloving and harsh personality is beginning to take a toll on you and you’re no longer seeking him out as much as you used to, so what better to do than make you think that he, you know, cares?
- Anytime he takes you out on a date to cozy you back up to his side and make you think he cares about you, it’s always with the intention of keeping you on the borderline of hating him and being obsessed with wanting his affection and love.
- Now, that doesn’t mean that the dates aren’t romantic or that they’re horrible dates. Just because I don’t think he’s romantic himself (he’s too selfish IMO) doesn’t mean that he doesn’t know how to do romantic things. After all, if the dates he took you on sucked then you probably wouldn’t fall for him again like you always do.
- Sometimes when he’s hurt your feelings after he threw something at you, or you both got into an argument (good luck), he’ll do something easier, something lower effort to get you out of your bedroom and stop ignoring him and his servants like you have for the past several hours.
- Coffee shops are something he’s learned you like, and of course, there are selfish reasons to it, because he’d be a liar if he said he didn’t love coffee. Cafes and Library dates are almost always his go-to whenever you’re so upset with him that you shut him out completely and lock yourself away in your room. While he doesn’t enjoy said dates very much (he’s fonder of reading new books and coffee, that’s it), he has to do them so that you’ll finally warm up to him again. How else can he keep tearing you down if you’re just always at your lowest? It would make you emotionally numb at some point.
- He did take you to FluffyTale once to where CCINO Sans works (you had no clue what was going on, and when you saw the look on CCINO’s face when he saw Nightmare, you knew it was nothing good). Why he did do that? Not sure. But it happened.
- For more extreme cases where he’s hurt you in a flash of anger (surprisingly he doesn’t do that too much to you, he may be annoyed 24/7 and may be a bitch but he does have good control over his emotions and the backlash for hurting you physically isn’t worth it with the recovery in his opinion), he does more caring things to get you to believe that he’s finally changed, even if just a bit, and that it’s not going to happen again.
- Of course, he doesn’t tell you that he’s sorry, and he doesn’t tell you that he won’t hurt you again. Nightmare never lies, only conceals the truth (canon btw), so you won’t hear mele promises from him. It’s exactly why he has to put more effort into actions sometimes.
- In the extreme case where he has physically hurt you, whether he slammed you against a wall or knocked you down to the ground, he does give you time to gather yourself in your room until you’re ready to come out, unlike how he pesters you when you both just argue. Not only does letting you waller in your self-pity for hours benefit him and his love for feeding off of your negative emotions, but it does give you time to think and calm down, which he needs you to do for him to be able to worm his way back into your mind.
- After being locked away for hours and examining any bruises you got from him when you’re finally ready to come out and find him, he’s gotten you roses (one of the only flowers he doesn’t hate, it matches the aesthetic with his castle.) and has set up a nice dinner with your favorite food, letting you indulge in the rarer evenings that are so nice that they almost let you forget about all of the tears you cried and all of the lingering pain he put you through.
SLOW DAYS
- Nightmare is someone extremely difficult to just relax with and bond with.
- HOWEVER
- His canon personality is not all ‘grrr i hate you grr im gonna beat the shit out of you and kill everyone you love’ because while he does have his moments, don’t think I’m saying he doesn’t, he just isn’t horrible 100% of the time.
- We know for a fact (sourced by Q&A’s and comics from JOKU) that Nightmare does have indulgent hobbies that PassiveNightmare used to have, like how he reads sometimes, and just also sourced from the same things, he isn’t angry a lot of the time. Or… He doesn’t show it. He’s manipulative, he’s extremely smart, and while he is annoyed almost all of the time, it’s not beneficial to his manipulative behaviors to show that 24/7.
- Plus, just because he’s annoyed doesn’t mean the man can’t sit there and relax with a good-ass book and some coffee.
- For whatever reason he’s keeping you locked up in the castle with him (I’m basing the reason off my a03 book with Nightmare, solely because I don't see why else he would bother keeping someone), as long as you don’t sit there and purposefully annoy him as Killer does, he doesn’t care if you want to sit in the same room as him.
- He’s described in books as busy all the time, and granted, I do love love love the idea of Nightmare being all hot doing paperwork at his desk and shit like that, but it just doesn’t make much sense to me. Like… He spreads negativity throughout universes and RARELY ever kills people, is he having to do paperwork over their hurt feelings or something?? This is no diss to those books because I love the concept of it and mmmmmm do I love an overworked Nightmare, but the idea when put into logical retrospect just doesn’t make much sense in my opinion.
- Therefore, since he’s literally been lounging around doing god knows what for 500+ years, I can see him having some boring and uneventful days in the castle.
- Since now you’re in the castle with him, it’s a bit easier to help pass the time with his ‘lover’ (he hates that word since he doesn’t and CANT love and hates any boyfriend/girlfriend label, it makes him feel too humane and in touch).
- You might just wake up and look for him after being served breakfast in your room like always, finding out that he’s in the castle today from one of his servants, and it’s always a straight shot guess of where he is.
- He doesn’t spend too much time in his bedroom. It’s a place that he only associates with sleep and changing clothes, and since he doesn’t need sleep to live, he just never really goes in there. You most likely won’t find him lurking in his bedroom at all.
- But the next best place where you can always find him is in his study or the library. Whenever he has the free time, you can’t recall seeing him without some sort of book in his hand. Sometimes he breaks free of the old habit and decides to write or drink some coffee while watching the rain pour down outside through his study window, but that isn’t as often.
- Surprisingly, he doesn’t typically turn down your company. Perhaps it’s for his selfish entertainment, or maybe he just finds you intriguing to talk to (I’d hope he did after going through the effort to kidnap you and keep you kidnapped), but if he notices you strolling into his study, still in your pajamas and sleepy from just waking up, he simply just has one of the servants outside the study room bring you some coffee or tea to drink while you sit down next to him to see what he’s reading.
BONDING / CONVERSATIONS
- In no means am I saying that Nightmare isn’t abusive, he is and would be in any sort of relationship (we see this firsthand with him and Ccino sans.), but he’s not too estranged to just conversate with.
- Usually, lazy days when he’s just staying in the castle and isn’t in a completely horrible and stressed mood are the days where you can talk with him best, like normal people.
- Sometimes he’ll tell you about the book he’s reading, and go into a long explanation about the entire story and plot without any pauses or breaks, just talking mindlessly to pass the time.
- Other times he tells you about the missions he’s planning on doing or has done, which he only tells you about because unless you’re on a date together, you never leave the castle. And even when on dates, you’re always stuck by his side and under his constant supervision, so there’s never any chance for you to blabber to anyone about what he tells you or for you to run.
- It was a huge shock to you at first with how conservative he can be, and how he can just talk and also listen in a normal, back-and-forth conversation, sometimes about absolutely nothing. You’d just never expect it from him, but even though he does not care about or love you by any means (just like how it is impossible for Dream to hate, it’s also impossible for Nightmare to love), if he’s kidnapped you in the castle to keep you as a romantic partner for some reason, he has some level of interest or obsession with you, so he’s more keen to just talking like normal with you compared to talking to other people, like Killer for one.
- As for bonding, most of your bonding is just during already discussed and elaborated lazy days around the castle or dates that only happened because he hurt you and needs you to warm up to him again. While you can fall in love and be as cooing to him as you’d like, Nightmare doesn’t experience the bonding you do since he doesn’t feel love. He views quality time as a way to learn more about his fixation on you.
LIVING IN THE CASTLE
(last one for now!! i could just KEEEEP writing about this, but i wanna save it for other headcanons with him in the future.)
- You live a pretty lavish life in the castle, I’m ngl.
- I’ve said it SOSOSO many times, and I’m gonna say it again, Nightmare is extremely manipulative. Thus, he allows your every need in the castle to be taken care of and makes sure that your bedroom is just the way you like it, and that you have anything you could want there.
- Having you be so comfortable in the castle and enjoy your life there makes it indefinitely easier for Nightmare to tear your little heart into pieces. It’s so easy to do when your upset mood is constantly distracted by how good of a life you have there (mostly, save for Nightmare being a bitch) and it just makes it easier for him to hurt your feelings and feed off your negative emotions.
- To elaborate, if you lived a horrible life in the castle and he kept you locked away in some dungeon cell without any freedom to roam the castle, kept you in the same clothes you showed up in, and only gave you water and bread crusts for dinner, it would be very difficult to prevent you from going emotionally numb.
- There’s only so much distress one can take before shutting down, and if he wants to keep hurting you over and over again, it would be very hard to do so when you’re always at your lowest due to your living conditions in the castle.
- Having you live a lavish life with all the physical comforts (except his LMFAO) you could want keeps your mood boosted easier, and allows you to recover quicker from his emotional abuse. When you easily go back to being happy and forgiving him due to your luxury of being able to take walks in the garden by yourself, take a hot bath, and drink some nice tea, it only makes it to where he has to do less work to manipulate your emotions. He can do all of the cheering up indirectly (other than taking you out on dates when he’s super super mean to you) and just let himself indulge in the privilege of hurting you again.
- So, yeah. When it comes to living in the castle you’re pretty much set up for life, living like basically royalty. The only difficult part that always tears you down to earth is whenever Nightmare decides to mess you up again.
There's my short ramble!
I said short, this was a long headcanon list, but it’s short to me when I compare it with how much more I could have written. I’m on a dreamtale crave right now since it has been one of my favorite au’s for a long time, and writing my a03 book with nightmare and dream has sparked the writing love for it again, so if anyone wants any requests for dream and nightmare I will take those up asap along with my others!
Thanks for reading!!

Since you're not a fan of shattered glass if you don't want to continue that story it's perfectly fine but I want you to know that it was really good
Shockwave asked him multiple times if he was sure. Once they did this there was no going back.
"I can't let him stay with the Autobots any longer."
"Okay, first we are changing Blurr then we'll change Rodimus."
He nodded trying to ignore the guilt at taking away their free will.
"Neither of them will go willingly so we'll have to kidnap them."
Shockwave pulled out a stun gun which only made the guilt worse. However, he pushed it to the side remembering the pain in Rodimus' optics, when he tried to get away from Optimus.
He would never let the Autobots hurt him again.
"I have a plan to lure Blurr in. He's fast but I think I can trap him and knock him unconscious."
He watched Shockwave set up the trap and Blurr eagerly fell into the trap unable to help himself.
"This won't hurt them right?"
"The only damage done will be what they do to themselves. However if I quickly stun them they won't be able to do anything."
He nodded watching quietly as Shockwave closed the doors. Blurr realizing it was a trap tried to escape. Shockwave placed something in his way causing Blurr to fall. The speedster got up and rushed towards the door however he wasn't fast enough and ended up trapped.
Blurr banged on the door looking angry and shouted at them. He sped back and forth looking for a way out and he knew it wouldn't hold him for long. On the monitor he could hear Blurr cursing at them and when he noticed the camera he glared.
Shockwave was quick to knock him out using a special kind of gas he created.
"Is he knocked out?"
"Yes."
Shockwave pulled up his vital signs.
"I also have other precautions just in case they wake up."
Shockwave left his lab and he watched on the monitors as he gently scooped Blurr up. He held the unconscious mech close as he carried him back to his lab.
He watched as he laid him on a table and to be extra cautious he tied his hands and legs keeping him immobile.
"Have you tested this before?"
He glanced nervously at the machine pointed at Blurr.
"I have..."
Shockwave hesitated and he frowned coming closer.
"What happened? Did it work?"
"It worked..."
"Then what aren't you telling me?"
Shockwave sighed.
"The procedure worked at first."
"What happened? Do we have to administer treatment multiple times?"
"The effects started wearing off slowly and when I noticed their behavior changing I tried using it again but it didn't work."
His spark froze in his chest.
"So it's temporary?"
"Yes and no. By a random coincidence, they'd gotten sparked and then the treatment was working again, as though nothing had happened. I kept checking on them and they were fine. It seemed like some dormant coding had activated and there was no way to reverse the effects. Even if someone tried to change them back it wouldn't be possible anymore."
He thought about it for a long moment.
"I understand if you don't want to proceed. You already have a hard enough time with using this machine on them."
"I'd have to think about it. This is a lot. The only way for the procedure to work is to get them sparked."
"It won't be as hard as you're thinking. After the change, they can be very eager."
He nodded having no idea how to feel about that. Even though his mind helpfully supplied images of Rodimus valve wrapped around his spike as he filled his forge.
Shockwave activated the machine and they got behind a protective wall for shielding. He covered his optics from the bright light as Blurr was changed.
When he opened his optics he was stunned because he already looked like a whole new person. His paint was a lighter blue color that fit him a lot more and he'd lost a lot of the heavy armor weighing him down and was now a sleek race car.
He imagined what Rodimus would look like. While he watched Shockwave fuss over his crush. Blurr was unconscious at the moment but when he woke up he was completely different.
He didn't have his past memories and Shockwave was quick to fill him in. He'd taken off his Autobot badge and was waiting to replace it with the Decepticons.
Blurr seemed to like Shockwave and he found the two hanging out a lot. Megatron didn't know yet but it was only a matter of time and Rodimus needed saving now.
Optimus was getting worse and he was worried he'd kill him. Taking the stun gun he'd gone to find Rodimus.
He was hiding away from the Autobot's base in an abandoned factory. Ravage had been following him from a distance and looked worried.
"Optimus did a number on him and he is very injured."
"I'll take care of him. he is never going back to that monster."
He quietly walked inside and Rodimus glared looking like a wounded animal as he covered his wounds.
"I don't want to hurt you."
Rodimus lunged at him with a snarl and he stunned him quickly catching him before he fell.
"It's going to be okay."
He whispered. Slightly guilty even if it was for the best.
He carried his unconscious frame back to Shockwaves lab and forced himself to tie him up.
He bandaged his wounds and had Shockwave check on him to make sure there was no serious damage.
"Soon you'll be okay."
He kissed Rodimus's forehead as Shockwave pulled him behind the protective shielding.
He activated the machine and despite the blinding light he watched as Rodimus changed. His colors became brighter and he seemed more relaxed.
He'd also shed some of the armor and had become a sleek speedster who was very beautiful. Once it was over he took him back to his room and patiently waited for him to wake up.

Did they ever tackle how the other dorm leaders reacted to the whole anemone issue during the Octavinelle arc? Like i know Riddle wasn't happy when he found out that ADeuce got into a contract with Azul and have to serve him since they failed to complete their deal but I dont think we got Leona's reaction to what happened to his dormmates since Im pretty sure I saw Savanaclaw npcs among the anemones. Like were they unaware or did they decide "let them face the consequences"?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Nope, we pretty much only have Riddle and Leona’s perspectives on the anemone incident of book 3. I’m pretty sure the other dorm leaders were not ignorant about what had happened; Azul had 225 students out of a school of 800ish under his thumb, which would significantly impact the school’s ecosystem and would be hard to ignore. Besides, what dorm leader would ignore anemones suddenly sprouting on their students’ heads and NOT get to the bottom of things?
It’s not too hard to imagine that the other dorm leaders were none too pleased to find out the news but also didn’t intervene for whatever reason (be it “they deserve to face these consequences”, knowing that they can’t do anything about it, etc.). In all likelihood, it was probably done out of convenience for the writers and/or to keep the story centered on the initial characters. At this point in the main story, we haven’t met characters relevant to other dorms (like Epel in Pomefiore), so we’d really feel little attachment seeing generic mob students suffering as Vil chides them or whatever. We can still get emotionally invested because our personal friends, Adeuce and Grim, are in dire straits.
Of course, Riddle was NOT happy with the circumstances (how dumb do you have to be to make a contract with Azul?). According to Deuce in 3-7, he was scolded and made to write a paper to reflect.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Leona’s opinion, meanwhile, is moreso implied. In 3-16, he says that anyone that would willingly and repeatedly make contracts with Azul are stupid. Leona has also made deals with Azul, but it always came at a steep cost to himself so he tries to do so sparingly. However, Leona also continuously characterizes those who get suckered as “dumb” and “dim-witted”, implying he does not think highly of those who fall for Azul’s schemes. This leads me to think that Leona’s feelings err on “you made your bed, now go lie in it”.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
But!! I think it’s possible that Leona’s motivation to dust Azul’s contracts threefold: eliminate his own contract with Azul, help Yuu and co. out (because they’re annoying him, lol), AND to free his (idiot) dorm members from Azul’s clutches. We’ve seen Leona act very similarly “selfless” (while operating to achieve his own goals) in book 2, so it wouldn’t surprise me if he continued this plotting in other books.
One thing I noticed while reviewing book 3; there are only anemone’d students from FOUR of the dorms: Heartslabyul, Savanaclaw, Scarabia, and Pomefiore. Octavinelle, Ignihyde, and Diasomnia students were not reaped.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now, it’s possible that this occurred due to limited game assets, as a similar issue occurred with the game showing beastmen mobs only in Savanclaw and in no other dorm. However, the manga debunked this quickly by showing beastmen in Heartslabyul and humans in Savanavlaw. I therefore decided to consult the manga to see if I could find Octavinelle, Ignihyde, or Diasomnia mobs among Azul’s anemones.
The Episode of Octavinelle manga depicts many mob students also indebted to Azul. It wasn’t that helpful since the pages are in black and white, making it difficult to know which dorms they belong to. However, we do see that Ignihyde students were anemone'd:
Tumblr media
Do you think Azul didn’t bother with his own dorm members to maintain the image of being a trustworthy and kind dorm leader/senpai? Maybe the Diasomnia kids were too strong-willed to fall for his schemes? Or perhaps they really are among the count of anemones, but just not shown clearly in the game/manga. (I can’t see Azul passing up the opportunity to get more clients indebted to him, regardless of dorm affiliation, since getting enough students of one dorm under him could grant him leverage with the dorm leader to get them back www)

My extremely hot take about the whole “Aslaug bewitched Ragnar” thing that I have only now fully formed in the year 2025, is that while I personally don’t find anything particularly convincing about Lagertha’s accusations, you can, if you want to, interpret that Aslaug used her “powers” with Ragnar.
Because here’s the thing, you never see Aslaug perform a spell or brew up a love potion, so what are Aslaug’s powers exactly? She has the power of prophecy, she sees things others can’t. That’s it, those are her powers, as we know them and of course you can argue she doesn’t even really have those powers but within the show, that is what she and others believe she is capable of.
So then what do we know about Ragnar in season 1, leading up to meeting Aslaug? Well he’s pulling away from Lagertha after her miscarriage and he’s asking the Gods who is going to bear his future sons. When he hears about Aslaug, he creates a test for her and when Bjorn asks why she so intriguing, Ragnar responds that sometimes the Gods put tests in front of them to see how they will respond. So then, he thinks of Aslaug as a test from the Gods and he responds with a test of his own, which she passes. The implication that she is the response to his prayer is there, of course he’s not outright scheming for her to bear his children or anything, but perhaps subconsciously the thread is there. I’ve heard people say it makes sense she bewitched him, since he was immediately interested in her. I think this ignores a lot, not just his aforementioned emotional state, but also that his test to her, to come neither dressed nor undressed, to come neither alone nor in company to him… it carries a pretty blatant sexual undertone. He is flirting with her before even seeing her.
Back to my main point… Well perhaps subconsciously Ragnar thinks she’s an answer to the question of who will bear his sons. But I think you could read Aslaug as knowing that she is the one who will do it. After all, she sees things others cannot. That she perhaps knew her fate was to bear Ragnars sons, that she willingly went to him when he offered her a test, is not that strange a theory to me. I mean, she knows she carrying his child quite early it seems, maybe she knew it was going to lead to that from the beginning. That she knowingly placed herself in his path, as the answer to his prayer… I think you could very easily make that work.
When she goes with Ragnar, she says it’s because she has no choice. When he kisses her, he says it’s because he has no choice. Of course they have a choice, but I think it’s meant to show us that they view their meeting as fate and they’re not going to fight it. This is not me trying to talk about them as some great “fated” love story. Aslaug says it herself, Ragnars fate was to have many sons, she gave them to him. It didn’t mean Ragnar loved her or she him, it didn’t mean they were happy. But that interpretation of Aslaug’s actions makes sense to me, though I imagine it’s not that appealing to people who want Ragnar to have been her victim.

TDP s6: Soren, Viren and missing the point (1/2)
I’ve seen some discussion surrounding the topic of whether or not book 6 of The Dragon Prince did justice to the complicated relationship between the male components of the mage fam, and as someone who fell in love with the writing of the show (in the first three seasons), as well as someone who relates to Soren’s struggle with Viren, I wanted to share my two cents. Of course, those are filtered through my very own lens, so none of what I’m going to say is ill intended or means to be disrespectful to the writers, cast, crew or fans that enjoyed what we got in book 6. I just really want to share my own thoughts because the direction this show has been taking these past few years is eating me up alive😊
*clears throat*
SPOILERS FOR THE DRAGON PRINCE SEASON 6!
What I find really frustrating and unsatisfying is that the scenes of confrontation between father and son that we got in s6 are done in a way that seemingly wants to punish Viren more than it wants to empower Soren- even though the scenes taken singularly are extremely well done, from the voice acting to the animation to the mood of it all... the problem arises only when looking at things according to the very principles the series tries to convey.
Just so that we’re all on the same boat here: the core theme of the series is the difference between power and true strength, and more specifically how the latter comes in the shape of only apparent weaknesses, such as love, vulnerability and forgiveness- all things that ultimately aim at connection.
Here’s the thing:
While yes, acting or not acting this way is a personal choice, Soren doesn’t really seem to choose to not to forgive Viren; rather he’s portrayed as uncapable of doing the opposite, meaning that he isn't really given the chance to be ‘strong’ according to the series’ values. It's one thing to say that Soren doesn't forgive his dad despite the change Viren went through because Soren doesn't owe him that, but it's a whole other thing to say that Soren doesn't forgive his dad because he refuses to believe said change happened in the first place (which by the time they meet again in s6 it’s just plainly untrue, but I’ll talk about Viren in part 2).
Now, since Soren is pretty much fine whenever Viren isn’t around, and since forgiveness is a part of the core theme of the series, what one could assume that Soren already forgave him and went on with his life for 2 years with no problem because he was at peace with what happened (which is the point of the act of forgiving, not only here but in real life too). Then Viren shows up again, and there’s a state of shock…the first time. Soren meets Viren in the Drakewood and we got no interaction between them, and whatever, that’s fine. Maybe he was processing it all.
The scenario in which they meet here however it’s very different: Soren is told ahead of time and he willingly goes to see his father despite no one forcing him to, as if he couldn't help it (at least up to a certain point).
This, unlike the state of shock that may or may have not been the reason they didn’t face one another sooner, isn’t a situation that should take away Soren’s capacity to stand up to his abuser with pride that he displayed all the way back in s3: does anybody remember that? How in the finale Soren was super ready for a confrontation right then and there, not as a hurt kid but as a confident and secure young man?
Yet this time, Soren isn’t depicted as capable of proudly facing the source of his pain to begin with, for whatever reason. Here he’s either numb, mad or sad, framed as a broken boy who can only live happily if he full on ignores what hurt him, which is far from the idea of moving on. Even in the optic where this is a form of stepping up for himself, considering that (as I mentioned) he was already capable of it and we already know how deeply hurt he was by Viren, the interactions we get in s6 give us nothing that we didn’t already know.
Since this is (probably) the last chance the two will have at conversation, there should've been more to it this time around. Some kind of proper conclusion before parting ways: that would be closure.
If Soren couldn’t forgive Viren when the latter was believed dead and didn’t have to face him at all once, it was probably due to the lack of closure (or by principle, I’ll get to that in a second), which could be the reason why he kept going back to the dungeon, though unaware of it; at this point it’s easy to see that, in order for the relationship to center the point the overall story is trying to make (or to barely allow a character that has suffered as much as Soren to finally heal), having closure here was a must, especially if they intended for him to go through the same thing twice.
As someone who has lived a similar situation as Soren has with Viren I say this with all the bitterness possible: for better or worse, forgiveness it’s something you do for your own sake of moving forward. I think that a lot of people, in general, mistake forgiveness for reconciliation.
The issue isn't that these two characters don’t reconcile, if anything, that's something that I liked and actually hoped for; the issue is that if closure and forgiveness are about inner peace (and they are), and not about reconciliation (and they're not), both things being denied now is unfair at best, and cruel at worst.
For anyone who claims that the entire thing was "realistic", please keep in mind that this is a fictional story where the characters are either rewarded or punished at the mercy of the writers, not to mention that said fictional story also wants to deliver a very clear moral message, meaning that most of the big character moments should bare minimum lean towards said message.
Even assuming this wasn’t the case, that forgiveness not being granted here is for the best and it doesn’t ruin the overall message of the story, Soren still deserved closure; he could have then decided to not forgive his father.
But okay- let's say that all of what I’ve been typing so far here isn't true and that Soren not believing his father was perfect: it could have, admittedly, somewhat worked if they had Soren, an emotionally smart and open-minded guy, actually hear his father out before… I don’t know, calling him out on his hypocrisy perhaps, for apologizing for mistreatment when there’s so much more he did, or for claiming to be a changed man when he puts the responsibility of fixing what he caused onto others by asking to serve someone else and that’s because he doesn't know how to be good man on his own, or how he chose to not pick up the pieces of what he left behind and brings up Viren's decision to leave behind his sister, who will likely fall into Aaravos's arms out of desperation… something.
What I'm getting at is that anything would have been satisfying if at least they allowed the characters to truly communicate with one another, regardless of the outcome, instead the possibility of real confrontation being denied to them so a spectacle can be made of Viren's guilt and unaccepted apologies.
‘Cause no, if one of the characters actively chooses not to listen to what the other one is saying, it’s not an actual confrontation, it’s barely a conversation. It’s just dialogue.
Aside from the logistics of it all, I've rewatched book 1, 2 and 3 about a hundred times during the hiatus, and I confidently believe (though this is 100% my own reading of the character) that among other things, everything that happens between Soren and Viren here fails to consider the kind of person Soren is at heart: he would never say something like "I want to see you suffer"; he would never angrily punch a wall (or, in this case, the dungeon’s bars). Those obviously aren’t unreasonable reactions, they are just out of character. To make a real-life example, if you were to go outside and a random man started screaming at you, it’d be understandable for you to scream back, just like it would be for you to freeze or run away; it all depends on who you are as a person.
Soren isn’t the type who’d get physically violent as a result of emotional outbursts* against a person he loves (if he isn't completely apathetic it's because he still cares, despite everything), nor the one who’d deliberately be mean to said someone, even when hurt, angry and would have all the right to be mean. What the hell happened to “he's cruel, but you don’t have to be” or whatever he said in s5?
He just isn’t that kind of person at all. If anything, Soren would very likely find it in him to be happy for his father while still not wanting him in his life anymore.
[*edit: this one specifically isn't just a matter of character, but also a matter of discipline: Soren is literally a trained soldier. I get why Callum would punch someone in the face during an adrenaline rush due to feeling intense anger and stress, but Soren was able to keep his cool not only when the pain of seeing Viren's "true colors" was fresh, but when at the very same time the man was being a threat to Ezran's life (so even according to Crownguard code he would have had a pass to immediately react)... maybe that's why it strikes me as odd]
Don’t get me wrong, I really enjoyed this season far more than what it might seem, but since Soren is the only reason I stuck around after the massive disappointment that was s4, I really really wanted this moment to be the absolute best, and at least personally I feel like this was just not it… but I’m crossing my fingers, hoping that maybe, in one way or another, they will give Soren his moment of acceptance and allow him to truly move on.
Something that I can’t hope anymore for Viren…

EARTHSPARK MESSAGES AND SUBTEXT THATS NOT EVEN SUBTEXT
It's been a while since I have posted as I've been busy with finals, but I saw a post that absolutely made me spur a headache with just how utterly fatuous of a take I saw on Transformers Earthspark and the messages it sends.
DISCLAIMER: DO NOT USE THIS POST TO ATTACK OR HARASS ANYONE, THIS IS ONLINE DISCUSSION OF A WORK OF MEDIA.
THIS ALSO COVERS SPOILERS FOR SEASON 1 OF EARTHSPARK, IF YOU WISH TO AVOID SUCH A TOPIC PLEASE REDIRECT YOURSELF.
@monocle-teacup Won't repost your post as the way tumblr reposts works would have everything funnel onto your account, but I'll be pinging you and I did screenshot your post for viewer's context:
Tumblr media
I have ALOT to talk about here, while also being completely in shock and disbelief how you end up BELEIVING THE SIDE THAT IS A GENOCIDAL LUNATIC WHO SEES THE TRANSFORMERS AS SUBHUMAN AND A DISEASE ON THE EARTH??? AND IS WILLING TO FULL ASS MURDER AND MUTILATE PEOPLE? From here any * you may see is likely a footnote mark to check details I put at the end for clarity. If I miss something, let me know and I will clarify.
Before I get into the meat of dissecting your clearly ill-informed and definitely not thoroughly thought out post, I need to get something out of the way because I believe you'll use this as a means of shielding yourself from incoming critique: It's okay to like and enjoy characters who are clearly bad people. There is a CLEAR difference between enjoying a fictional character and agreeing with whatever they might do or say. I enjoy many bad and morally reprehensible characters, including Mandroid/Doctor Meridian, but that doesn't mean I agree with them or don't find their actions and ideas deplorable. If you find yourself agreeing with someone who sees another group of people* as being subhuman or a danger to society you need to reconsider your ideologies and thought processes. Like ASAP.
Okay onto the actual deconstruction of your statements, why they are blatantly lacking a thorough reading of the messages in Earthspark, or even lead into uncomfortably ignorant territories both with Transformers and very real-life, human related things.
As a first point, you state that you hope this show re-examines the fact that hatred towards another group of people (even if they are fictional) automatically makes them a terrible person, and bring up the statement that the show makes GHOST's detainment of transformers look "cartoonishly evil" but does absolutely nothing to address Dr.Meridian's statements of transformers being dangerous.
Yes. Yes it ABSOLUTELY DOES address that throughout the entire show. In fact, the whole season is literally about deconstructing the notion that BOTH Dr.Meridian's and GHOST's ideals and methods are harmful if not downright discriminatory towards transformers as a whole.
GHOST's method of control is a guise under the US government by detaining any transformer they deem as "a threat", this can even mean autobots or non-aligned transformers who don't want to join their organization or are just doing their own thing. They will willingly classify them all as "Decepticons" to justify their inhumane treatment of them. This is paralleling how humans will stereotype and conflate other groups of people, as being all associated with one singular event or organization of people that is seen as bad or a danger to society* and use that stereotyped ideal to weaponize it against them and justify harming them in multiple ways; which is what Dr.Meridian ALSO DOES THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE SHOW. Dr.Meridian is a scientist that literally works with and is a huge provider of technology to GHOST, he literally works with them and experiments on the detained transformers. You can't say "oh GHOST bad Dr.Mer not so bad" when he's LITERALLY PART OF GHOST AND YOU CANNOT SEPARATE THEM. HE IS EXTREME AND OUTSPOKEN ABOUT HIS HATRED THROUGHOUT THE SHOW AND ACTIVELY IS SHOWN TO BE ENTIRLEY IN THE WRONG BOTH IDEOLOGICALLY AND ACTION WISE. You clearly have not watched with a critical eye if you think they never address his points or somehow he is right about something. He never is and it shows just how harmful his mentality is. You don't even need words spoken out loud to know he's ALREADY HEINOUSLY WRONG AND BIGOTED.
Why should the show, one that shows transformers having to battle against racist and xenophobic hatred towards them from humans, re-examine that relationship? People are being discriminatory to people they don't like, and to them it doesn't matter if they are decepticon or not; they're all the same and dangerous in their eyes. Yes, there was a war brought onto earth's soil from pure happenstance of where the Ark and members of the two named groups had landed, and yes it was bloody and many lives were lost like any war is. Should the war, as well as atrocious acts of violence by a few and the circumstance that which the birth and type of being transformers are deem all transformers as dangerous? OBVIOUSLY FUCKING NOT. That's literally stereotyping. That's what Dr.Meridian is doing. He's literally grouped them all into one conglomerate in his head and sees them all as pests to be exterminated.
The transformers are both immigrants and refugees of war that had lasted thousands of millions of years and a desperate attempt to find any source of energon because they would STARVE TO DEATH IF THEY DIDN'T AND RESOURCES WERE DANGEROUSLY SCARCE ON CYBERTRON. They are thousands of lightyears away from home in a place that doesn't have the cultures they are familiar with and structures built for them which accommodates their needs. And to add onto it, most were never originally outfitted with guns and shit. They had to ARM THEMSELVES TO PROTECT AGAINST ATTACKS. JUST BECAUSE YOU SEE A GUN POP OUT OF THEIR BODY DOESN'T MEAN THEY ARE BUILT LIKE THAT NOR DOES IT MEAN THEY ARE AUTOMATICALLY ALL DANGEROUS. The only ones who are theoretically "built for war/violence" are war-frames like seekers, but they didn't even CHOOSE THAT LIFE OR WANT IT! THEY ARE COLD CONSTRUCTED* AND LITERALLY ENSLAVED INTO BEING CANON FODDER FOR WHATEVER SKERMISH THEY ARE DEEMED NEEDED FOR. Starscream wasn't even a warrior before this, he was just some nerd ass scientist. Cold constructed bots and War-frames are already deemed subhuman by other transformers. The entire war that you see is a continual millions of years struggle which the origins are in a fight against their own horrible systematic oppressions to try and bring freedom and put an end to the horrible reign back on Cybertron. How does them being robot organisms displaced by ongoing war, a continual brutal and bloody struggle for freedom back at home, and dangerous resource scarcity make them any more dangerous than your average person? And the "they are robots/walking death machines" argument doesn't count because you're only seeing them from a nonhuman lense in that case. Take off those nuts and bolts covered glasses and think of how this would be if they were all humans instead. The visuals of only seeing them for their robotics are blocking your ability to view this group as simply a mirroring of humans in nonhuman bodies. Humans are just as dangerous and ostracizing as them. Literally humans slaughter other humans frequently; bring upon hatred and obscene actions onto one another with or without robotic attachments and aid of machines. Just because the transformers are robotic extraterrestrials who are "different biologically/mechanically" makes it no different from the dehumanization and other forms of racism and xenophobia. Transformers are literally just... humans in a robot shell. You can't argue against this at all because most if not all have human forms, ALL of them have human minds, and just happen to come from a planet they need to be insanely large sized on, as well as already pre-armed due to conflict that they have escaped from.
The whole story of Earthspark is LITERALLY about the experiences of the Terrans; first generation descendants of immigrant refugees navigating the struggles that come with being just that. They make whole episodes surrounding their feelings of alienation and their struggle to have a place in the world, their culture and history and who they are. They want to feel they belong and feel they have a place in this world and be seen just as human and belonging as their human family. Their government and the world around them alienates them and treats them sub-humanly despite them being just as human, flaws and all, as us. Since I'm praddling on about this topic, did you even ABSORB ANY OF THE EPISODES HOME PART 1 AND 2???? IT'S ABOUT THIS TOPIC AND TEACHES HOW THIS MENTALITY OF TREATING THE TRANSFORMERS AS SUBHUMAN ALIENS THAT NEED TO GO AWAY OR NEED TO BE CLASSIFIED AS DANGEROUS/A INVASIVE "SPECIES" THAT NEEDS TO BE REMOVED IS BAD. IT SHOWS THE RACISM AND XENOPHOBIA THAT ESPECIALLY COMES WITH BEING CHILDREN OF IMMIGRANTS AND THE ISOLATION THEY FACE.
Tumblr media
Please, I heavily implore you to go back and watch them. You somehow miss the entire point of the show and ESPECIALLY this episode. Many episodes cover different points of their existence as first gen children and the reality that the transformers have to face in general while being refugees on a planet with others being hostile and degrading to them but this particular episode is the one that tackles the points I make in this post the most. It may not go super deep into it due to forced time constraints and other executive nonsense that makes it harder to go into more detail but it still covers the topic very well.
Humans getting nipped at the heels for being bigoted towards transformers isn't some "ouugh you can't think the decepticons did bad things" type of nonsense and I absolutely hate the "oh because you can't be bigoted towards a group of people it means you suddenly can't criticize the actions of someone who happens to be someone of that group" mentality you seem to be concocting out of thin air. It's them associating the entire race of transformers as all bad, unbelonging or worthy of being seen as dangerous and to be wary around them or like they need to not be on earth and "go back where they came from". You go between "decepticons" and "transformers" interchangeably and seem to do exactly as the show heeds against heavily; conglomerating the actions of a FEW to encompass the overall worthiness of a WHOLE POPULATION OF PEOPLE.
Doctor Meridian is wrong and genuinely evil and disturbing with how he treats them and him seeing them as dangerous and a pest needing to be eradicated nor should any of his views be agreed upon, no matter how much you may try to defend him. There's more I could add but for simplicity's sake but that's what I mainly will state. The rest of clarity can be discussed in the comments.
I'm not sure whether your lack of understanding of the show and its messaging you are discussing or your love for one of the major villains is clouding your judgement, but please read EVERYTHING here to its fullest extent. Nothing here is intended as an attack on your character (if you're somehow seeing it that way) but as a heavy critique of your views on this show and how you are analyzing things. I might sound like I'm yapping to yap or "it's not that deep", but it literally is. The show and it's writing make it a big point and I will refuse to accept any iteration of "you're making a mountain out of a molehill" type statements. If you have any questions or comments you're free to bring them up.
-With confusion and annoyance, Wizard.
-Footnotes- *By group of people, I refer to sapient (human minded) beings who are grouped by either race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, gender, sexuality, disability, etc. By this classification, Transformers are considered a group of people; even if they are "nonhuman" *If you are somehow seriously confused or appalled by me pointing out real world racism and xenophobia as parallels to what is being done by GHOST, Dr. Meridian, and your average run of the mill civilian, you need to reread absolutely everything. Racism and xenophobia are a huge talking point in the show and I refuse to retract this statement. *Cold Constructed means the transformer was made in a factory, more often than not to be a worker slave for whoever is demanding they be produced. Two characters off the top of my head who are cold constructed is Starscream and Megatron.

Thinking ‘aloud’ again about Mr. Puzzles because I like exploring characters and their personalities/motivations/etc.
If Mr. Puzzles ends up dying, I feel like it would be a waste of the prior episodes that built up different aspects of his character, with him showing those parts of himself he doesn’t usually show when he’s around smg4 and co. Especially when he has a ‘friend’ and actually does things that friend wants him to/is protective of them. Gonna list episodes out. Gets kinda long but there’s some things/scenes that stick out to me apologies if this comes of as more stream of consciousness but I need to talk more about Mr puzzles.
Just going with episodes after the Puzzlevision movie, since mr puzzles obviously knows what he did beforehand manipulation wise, both hands on and hands off, before his tv head is catapulted off the to trash dump. But noting again that he played ‘supporting’ character most often in the Puzzlevision shows until he hosted the game show.
Mario the Exploro: shows he can get sucked into his own shoes. not much too it, apart from him being a ‘helpful’ character in the ‘show.’ Once the Puzzlevision show is over, it’s obvious puzzles has hulterior motives, but he’s. Desperate/pathetic about it and isn’t trying to take smg4 or Mario back into tv mind land and puzzles ends up being ignored. He also doesn’t do anything to stop the other two from walking away from him.
Smg4 meme factory, at the end: showing off his spying on others skills without people somehow not noticing him. makes it clear what he’s after but not directly (seemingly) confronting smg4 or his friends at this point.
Despicable mr puzzles; again shows him with a slightly goofier side (like with the Puzzlevision shows), and the ridiculousness he does to avoid being shot at while leggy laughs at him after he’s verbally threatening beforehand (but not doing anything other than holding leggy). Showcases him getting sucked into his own shows again. Delights at someone helping him out after he awkwardly tries to acknowledge he needs help/assistance and that leggy isn’t so bad. Again, awkward socializing.
Night at smg4: mr puzzles is already protective of leggy just because she helped him out (and it was just, literally opening the door for him/interacting in the ‘show’). Mr puzzles actually listening to wordless advice from leggy at first (vs bob), getting protective again of leggy after she shows a flag showing he’s number one to her (vs Luigi-again, puzzles has barely known leggy for very long at this point and he’s already going toward danger instead of away to help her-like in the previous episode’s ’show’), some shenanigans (with smg3) for them to work together, and (vs smg4) mr puzzles getting protected from smg4 by leggy while he is being dramatic about it. It fascinated me that he thought Meggy would help him when she turned back and you can tell the the rejection hurt him (which is likely the main reason why he retreated, instead of, I don’t know, taking everyone present into his tv mind thing? Unless he needs a certain amount of stars to do it willingly instead of accidentally (Mario the exploro, descipcable mr puzzles).
And what’s with Meggy’s remembering being leggy with puzzles-why show it? Why have her make that face like? Is it a surprise to her that he has a different side to him when he’s not directly in conflict with someone and is being ‘friends’ with them? Even then I doubt Meggy would forgive him easily (not even touching on the other later ep yet). This scene with her just bugs me because why show it, when she could have just been shown to have leggy hallucinations later when puzzles shows up again? Why have that little scene to begin with, when she’s in the frame by herself? Is it just acknowledgement that she kind of remembers, or that there’s more to Mr. Puzzles than she and the others thought?
Smg4: inside out- I still have no idea what to think of this ep, other than mr puzzles kinda calling out smg4 for using the controller on Mario in the gif episode by turning Meggy into leggy. And to have Meggy get up in arms at mr. puzzles at the end. And since it is a Puzzlevision ep, did he just use replicas of everyone like he did in despicable mr puzzles ep? Who’s point of view was it meant to be? Smg4? Did Mr puzzles just sneak into the castle to do another puzzlevision show? It just seems so random in the placement of the ep.
We must kill Mario- i know mr puzzles isn’t in this one but it would make sense to pull some strings to try and get Mario framed for something Marty did instead since Marty has a grudge/reason against Mario. Also I suppose to give Karen development to have her show up again more often.
Mario loses his mustache- mr. Puzzles shows that he can spy again and well enough that no one notices him there. Actually learns enough to know what he needs to rival Mario’s ‘funny’ and doing the goofy sneaking about to steal the mustache. Shows use of some mechanical/engineering putting Pedro together (kind of) and even protects Pedro even if Mr puzzles gets clocked in the face instead. And Mr puzzle’s even prevents cheating in the later face off between Mario and Pedro, as well as sticks to his word when Mario wins. No trickery. Mr puzzles is even sad that his ‘friend’ Pedro gets stolen.
Mr puzzles lowest point- this man’s so desperate he’s willing to forgo his own standards in shows. He’s that desperate for acknowledgment of his creativity that he’s willing to work with terrible content. He even goes to Karen’s house to pitch things to her kids which like. Sir. How did you get in there without Karen taking notice? And when he gets that ‘fame’ in exchange for his dignity he becomes a pathetic laughing stock. He even tries to reach out to Meggy again in kind of a silly if awkward way and is hurt by the rejection again as he runs away instead of just acknowledging that she doesn’t want anything to do with him (Meggy hallucinating leggy 1). And Mr puzzles can’t even share his scripts or creating one with people and only gets mad when all they want is the mindless content and nothing more. And he realizes it’s not what he wants in that dumpster that he’s framing shooting takes of what’s being shown of him. And when he’s back at his place, All that rejection builds up and he actually gets upset with the kids for not appreciating true art and goes off to deal poorly with his daddy issues (and cry about it all) in a very poor coping manner kinda like when smg4 got cancelled but unlike mr puzzles, smg3 came to help him out of the misery that came from it.
The parallels between Mr puzzles and smg3 &4 drove me up the wall, honestly. Poor man’s got all their issues abs insecurities AND has daddy issues on top of it.
Mr puzzles clubhouse-
Mans at his breaking point and clearly wants nothing to do with Mickey but you show him the most important place (he’s not been important to anyone in his whole life it seems) and you give an already desperate character motivation to descend deeper into madness without anyone to help steer him away from it. And Mr puzzles again shows that he can be calm and candid with someone (meggy) and even joke about the tv, but i think by now puzzles knows that Meggy wants nothing to do with him but maybe leggy will. Mr puzzles obviously can’t take another rejection from someone he views as a friend (even if it was a mishap and leggy shouldn’t have been around like that for as long as smg4 allowed it). Also what happened to all the other leggy’s?
Anyway, it sounds like either meggy gets forcefully squished into leggy, or has her head and feet ripped off and the rest of her is just. In her house. She does seem really off in the next episode. Mr puzzles may not have done it himslef but he still snapped his fingers to have someone else force leggy out. Man is so desperate for a friend that he forces it on meggy even if he only knew her as leggy for hours at best. Puzzles desperately needs help but he’s not outwardly showing it well and the desperation is making him to things he will later regret just because his need for control in his own life and his own pursuits he was told he wouldn’t he able to have is driving him forward. But he shouldn’t have done that to Meggy because it just ruins any chance he had to be at least tolerated by her, even if she doesn’t forgive him for his actions before. As mr puzzles has shown, he can be calm and actually think things through, as long as he doesn’t let his aspirations get him carried away.
Welcome to puzzles park:
Meggy aka leggy is concerning me with how off she is. Mr puzzles has basically completely lost his mind and if there isn’t the ‘we’re not so different’ to smg4 and/or 3 I’m going to scream because there are so many parallels that i know other people have pointed out. The end of the ep. My guy you need therapy and actual friends. tormenting people you think ruined things for you is not going to make you feel any better and i can only hope that leggy doesn’t get caught in the crossfire because I feel like there could be a chance for that.
TLDR: Apart from the things before the puzzlevision movie, and after taking over didny, he shows a variety of emotions and the parallels are going to drive me insane if they aren’t addressed in some way and ahh, let be in denial awhile longer I don’t want Mr puzzles to go I feel like if they give him a break (as in be a background character for awhile) he could have some kind of reconciliation even if it isn’t with everyone.
As a side note for wotfi- I’m wondering if mr puzzles might still be able to project his mind to another body that’s normal sized in the park somewhere, mainly just due to the posters shown, and him appearing in front of Mario, though it is likely just a projection of some kind. At this point I’m wondering if that’s how it would go down. Main body that has powers gets destroyed and Mr puzzles ends up powerless in a body like he had before he did that bs in the engine room. And he’d have some kind of consequences.

About your OC: Queen Phaere of Firgenstrame
Thank you for the tag, @forget-me-maybe <3 I'll tag @purpleasters-inseptember @coffee-with-pigeon-milk @commander-krios and @krawwan !
I'm kicking this off with art of Phaere I got from the wonderful @goromimii ; I have references from the game for Phaere's face, but this portrait shows her far more vividly <3 Onwards to the questions!
Tumblr media
How would you describe their personality?
Phaere is a forthright open book most of the time, a woman who's grown up believing so innately in her right to rule that she has barely encountered the idea of shame. Very little gives her pause, except Lolth's curses. She cares a great deal about knowledge and about advancing Eilistraeen ideals... as well as her own and her kingdom's power. Sometimes, this conflicts a little; Eilistraee might not particularly approve of the matriarchal aesthetics Phaere's mother brought to Firgenstrame from the Underdark, but hey, old habits die hard. She loves pleasure, and imbibes it liberally, but believes it should be balanced by the pursuit of knowledge and justice. You know. Rolan sucking her toes whilst she provisions taxes to help the poor. That sort of thing.
Above all though - and she doesn't fully realise this herself at the beginning of In Service of Magic - she's a rather idealistic romantic, who saw her parents' non-traditional but apparently perfect and easy relationship and believed that the moment Eilistraee saw fit to deliver her curse-breaker, she'd have that too. As it turns out, it is rather more complicated than that - especially since her curse-breaker is Rolan, a walking mess of ambition, temper and contradiction.
What brings your character joy?
Nothing brings Phaere more happiness than to see her curse-breaker, Rolan, choosing to kneel willingly at her feet. She also loves lavishing him with pretty clothes and gifts, seeing him take joy in new books and magic, and curling up to read together.
She loves the thrill of a hunt - riding, falconry, archery - and the indulgent peace of good wine and excellent music. All the classic delights of being a Queen with your realm's wealth at your disposal. A hunt with her mother is a particular joy; they love to go riding, shoot a deer or two, and discuss the finer points of disciplining your submissive over a glass of wine afterwards.
What does your character strongly dislike?
She despises actual cruelty, which is a little complicated for her because she loves indulging it in the bedroom. (Consensual cruelty - but cruelty nonetheless). But her family are strongly opposed to the backstabbing and unpleasantness of the Underdark. She also loathes traitors for this reason.
She also gets easily annoyed by the old guard of advisers that she keeps around to mollify the human parts of her court and kingdom (and because it was her father's wish that his closest advisers continue after his death). They argue a lot, particularly over the aesthetics (...horny and decadent) of her court.
Is your OC scared of anything?
Further encounters with Lolth's followers. We'll get there in In Service of Magic, but as is hinted at in Chapter 3 and 4, she has some old and never-healing wounds that are a frequent source of pain to her - and one of the few secrets she keeps for emotional rather than purely practical reasons. Lolth's wrath is cruel and bitter, and as an emblem of Eilistraee's success, Phaere and her mother are forever marked as targets.
What is their alignment?
I'm not a huge fan of DnD alignments because they seem inflexible to me, and also - via which system of morality? Phaere is generally a wise and fair queen, but she rules via an inherited line, has never heard of democracy, cheerfully ignores men's opinions (though she comes to respect Rolan's), and so on. She believes she's got the divine right - and need - to rule this kingdom in Eilistraee's name, and will defend it to the death. Overall, I'd call her lawful good, but not necessarily by modern standards!
Tumblr media
Here she is, my beloved, beautiful, slightly bonkers femdom queen with a loving heart and very itchy whip fingers. I love her (and Rolan) very much, and can't wait to get back to the next chapter of their story!

hihi
i am going to redo this at some point when i get the chance to! i know its a mess rn. lookie look at my art you should be able to find most of it under #digital art or #gel pens depending on if you wanna see digital art or smaller doodles. mostly cat posts and art posts, art does often get buried cuz i'm silly but it is here i promise. it just takes me forever to make it im busy. might occasionally post other interests/hobbies too though! such as cool rocks (i lov rocks..tag me in geology and mineral posts you find i want to see.. idc if you know me... pleaa /nf)
call me sam or lexy, i would prefer gn terms. im unlikely to interact first very often thats intimidating, but idm interactions. stay sfw, don't be willingly ignorant, and use tone tags (preferably, i'm not hard on this at all - it's just helpful, esp if i don't know you), and we're chill. as stated above i will mostly do art posts, i have lots of characters with lots of lore and backstories for them - i even have a personal project (don't know what else to call it) called the rift, which i've been fleshing out since 2020. i do intend to post about those things as well. and the occasional cat post
asks are fine. can be small art requests (may be slow to do), or if you want to know more about my characters, my song of the day, or more about me, literally anything i do not mind. as long as it follows what i've stated already, there's no particular theme to follow here. expect me to act silly and dumb, sometimes i don't know what i'm doing and so i appreciate patience* though this hasn't been any sort of issue yet (attached image is lotol. character from aforementioned rift)
Tumblr media
*patience is also requested on the fact i have a genuinely atrocious memory and am likely to forget most things. don't take it personally if i don't remember who you are, that's on me. you are free to remind me if i forget important things, too, just be polite !!
changing this part. i have a mc lore server which i refer to by dma or sometimes dmalore but as of right now it's pretty much completely private - i may post about it on occasion but don't expect it. however, the story itself you are completely free to inquire about - it's a side project, but i hold it just as lovingly as i hold the rift i won't bite at all :3 . i may not be able to answer everything in regards to it but i can *definitely* talk about it
rift stuff is tagged under #riftlore btw. largely incoherent (mostly night) rambles about my ideas. there's some art there too though. admittedly don't post about it as much as i should. if you want to hear about my story/lore ideas you will probably get more mileage out of asking about the rift though some of it is less fleshed out than dma. i will love you if you inquire about either though (or any oc stuff) i need more excuses to talk /p /silly also very definitely very normal about hit indie game rainworld i am normal and sane abt it. especially hunter slugcat i currently have three (3). i have rw ocs, They do not have their own tags but i like talking abt them too
i playing and frolicking w my friends in the fields forever an eve r /silly
let's play autism! let's play autism! let's play autism together!!!!

Pharah and the shit load of trauma she needs to deal with.
Since I'm kind of on a Pharah post train right now I might as well give an analysis of her character.
First off, let's get the obvious out of the way. This woman has abandonment issues, with the number of characters that have left her, willingly or otherwise, it would surprise me if she didn't. Not only that but I do think her reaction to Mercy leaving without a goodbye says a lot about her issues with people leaving.
Now let's get into the less obvious, her toxic idealization of Overwatch, especially in regard to Cassidy and Mercy. It's something that I think a lot of people ignore about her character, Canonically Pharah was very much sheltered from a lot of the drama that was happening with Overwatch. Yes, she isn't like Winston where the rose-tinted glasses are still in place, but there are still things that she is unaware of and doesn't completely understand.
Such as the things Cassidy went through in Blackwatch and the fact that he's basically holding on by a thread. I've talked about this in a previous post but it's very much implied that Cassidy has relapsed back into smoking and has become a high-functioning alcoholic. These are both things that he has successfully kept hidden because of the fact that throughout the game's history, the only person who acknowledged his behavior is Mercy in an old voice line. If Pharah, someone that considers Cass family, noticed what he was going though it would be acknowledged in a instant. Looking at the way Pharah talks about Cassidy in "As You Are", she's completely unaware.
The same goes with Mercy but it is different. She does know that Mercy's feeling on Overwatch are complicated, it's not something that Mercy hides, but Pharah seems unaware of how tired she is. How Mercy has become a workaholic because of Overwatch, how Mercy is incredibly bitter towards Ana and the rest of the Old Guard for how they treated her technology.
Now saying all that I want to point out that Pharah not knowing this stuff isn't her fault, both Cassidy and Mercy are characters who put everyone else's needs and health before they're own. She isn't aware because Cassidy and Angela are actively hiding it.
Now this leads me back to Pharah's toxic idealization of Overwatch. A majority of Pharah's issues with Overwatch stem from her mother, as a result it's safe to assume that she only really paid attention to that, especially when she was younger. Meaning the issues with Blackwatch? The treatment that Cassidy, Mercy, Genji, Echo and so many others received? She wouldn't be aware of that. Which leads me to believe that she put Overwatch on a pedestal. She holds onto Overwatch as a comfort. Have you ever noticed that Pharah doesn't seem to have any connections outside of her father, work, and Overwatch?
And before you say this is a common thing, it's not, a lot of characters have connection outside of Overwatch. Even with Pharah's connection in her job they all seem more professional then personal. Which leads me to one big point that a lot of people haven't realized, Pharah is sheltered, that's why she has a crush on Mercy, she never really allowed herself to make connections outside of Overwatch. It's why she hasn't realized that Cassidy has relapsed, because Cassidy and Ana have always shielded her from his troubles in Blackwatch.
Even after Overwatch's fall she's still only mentioned being in contact with members of Overwatch when she's outside of work and this wouldn't be a problem if Overwatch fell 1-2 years ago, but it's been 6 years.
I believe a big part of Pharah's arc is going to be moving away from Overwatch, in a social way I mean. I think her and Baptiste now being on a first name basis is a step in that direction, I think she's going to become friends with the other members of the New Blood group and that will lead her into making connections with people outside of Overwatch. They might be new characters introduced more as allies to Overwatch, or maybe it will be older characters who either share the same issues with adornment (Sombra) or the same inexperience with socializing outside of the organization they grew up in (Symmetra).
Either way I do think Pharah needs some friends who either weren't always a part of Overwatch/recently joined or are just allies and/or not a part of Overwatch.

People & Religion...yikes...
Years ago, I wrote this in response to the criticism and dismissal of religion I was encountering at the time. At that point, I wasn’t a Christian, but had been exploring the complexities of faith, spirituality, and religion. My grandmother, a devout believer, had once condemned me to hell at the age of 11, which triggered a long period of intense resentment toward the church. I spent years researching and trying to make sense of religion, often feeling conflicted and unsure. Now, looking back, I understand this post not just as a response to others, but as part of my own personal journey, grappling with spirituality, light, and dark forces beyond what most people can see or acknowledge.
Deny the Christian God all you want, but to deny the underlying forces of light and dark is insanity. I have personally been studying religion ever since my grandmother decided to damn me to hell at the age of 11. That moment shaped much of my life and turned me extremely spiteful towards the church for a very long time. I still don’t consider myself a Christian, but from intense research into the Christian religion (along with every other religion known to mankind), it is foolish to deny the truth that lies within it.
Yes, the Church has been constructed in ways that brainwash and invoke fear in people, but to ignore the spiritual truths found within the sacred texts is to ignore something far greater. The Gnostic scrolls, for example, are something very real. They offer a radically different interpretation—one that contradicts over 2,000 years of Biblical teachings. According to the Gnostics, there were two “Jesus'” and Jesus was not hung on a cross. Even more controversial is the claim that Judas didn’t betray Jesus, but was, in fact, asked by Jesus to turn him in. It was part of a greater plan, and Judas did so willingly, wanting his closest friend to fulfill this role rather than a foe.
Please, pull your head out of your arse. I understand the frustration with the Bible-thumpers, especially as all this dark energy continues to surface. But you have to understand—they are afraid. They are afraid of these massive dark forces that grip the world, forces that manifest as the only “light” they have been taught. I get it. It’s overbearing, tiresome, and often seems like they’re pushing their religion onto everything. But it is important to them. It shapes their reality in ways they don’t always understand.
Let them tie their religion into all this as much as they want. The truth of the Divine Matrix—the cosmic forces that govern existence—will soon reveal itself. And when it does, all will make sense. Until then, we each must find our own path, whether in traditional faith or by exploring the deeper, sometimes hidden forces that bind us to this universe.

Random Dark Rise questions, thoughts and theories
My brain is filled Dark Rise, there's nothing else I can think about anymore, so I typed up some stuff that's on my mind.
Slight spoilers for the Tarot Trading Cards if you haven't seen them yet or are trying to avoid them.
How did Jannick (and/or the other stewards) find out that James is a reborn? Is it because he got hurt, but healed immediately? Did he use magic not knowing it was a bad thing? Jannick mentioned his wife died, did James accidently kill her(with his magic)?
Do James and Will look exactly like their past selves, basically ignoring genetics? Is that why Devon recognised Will? Or was it just Will´s aura. On Sarcean's trading card we can see that he has Will's hairstyle. Black hair with bangs swept to the left and shaved(?) sides. Only the back is long. Obviously this could very well be explained by the artist taking artistic liberties, but I don't know. Personally I hope they look the same.
Speaking of Devon and Tarot Cards. Someone else on here (I will try to find them) pointed out that Devon told Violet that she has more in common with him than the stewards and wondered what it could mean. We know that Devon was an actual horse that somehow turned human. Maybe lions were actual lions that could also become human? Or vice versa? When the stewards attack the ship, one of them told Tom that he's nothing like the lions in the past. Why? Is he weaker? Was it simply an insult that doesn't have any deeper meaning? Or is there indeed some magic stuff going on? One of the new trading cards features a woman named 'mrs. Duval' with a lion next to her. Could she be a lion too and the animal next to her is her but transformed? Or maybe it's only a pet...who knows. There's also the whole plotline with "Tom has to kill people like him to become stronger" which kind of got dropped and never picked up again.
This next one is just me being confused, so let's recap some things we know already before I start rambling. I also didn't read the English version, maybe the wording was better in the original.
The dark king ordered his servants to be executed so they can be reborn with him.
This is why Anharion got executed on the step of the palace.
The Dark King himself was killed by the Lady somewhere close to the Mediterranean Sea.
Anharion was supposed to be buried in the Dark King's grave (according to Gauthier)
Sooo.....
-> why exactly did he need everyone to be executed? Was he losing the war? And how did he know they would be reborn? Random guess? Magic?? Will and James are already here, will there be other reborns beside them? Do you think the reborn servants will recognise Will and cause conflict?
This next bit is absolutely batshit crazy and I have no proof other than I guess it would be cool
-> The eldest steward said The Dark Kings was killed somewhere in the south: what was he doing there? Was Anharion already dead by then? Did he willingly seek out the Lady to settle things? Maybe the translation was garbage and the original tells a different story, but I actually believe Sarcean was the one who died first based on Gauthier saying that Anharion was buried in his (Sarcean) grave. Maybe before the Dark King died he gave an order that if he dies on his mission then Anharion is supposed to get executed and since he was wearing the collar he had no choice to obey. Basically even though Sarcean was dead, Anharion was still under the collar's influence. Gauthier also never explicity stated that Sarcean was present when the execution happened only that he ordered it. Can someone who has an English copy maybe send me a picture of the page? óuò It's in chapter 28 I would like to see what Gauthier says in the original
-> Last thing: were James and Will reborn at the same time? Technically the one who died first should also be born first, right? ^^" Was James reborn and then eventually Will? Or was Will reborn first after Mary's murder and only after the Dark King was back everyone else also came back. Someone in the hall did say that James being there was a bad omen, implying everyone else comes back first with the Dark King being last.
I feel like I was definitely overthinking some parts, but yeah... ^^" I also read some people got an early copy for Dark Heir and unfortunately there's one person on Twitter who already spoiled a bit. So, uhm, if you have read Dark Heir before it came out, don't interact with this. I'm not interested in 'vague hints' which really aren't that vague...

I'm sending this to three T70s blogs! What are your very most controversial/unpopular That 70s Show opinions? To get the ball rolling, I'll confess a few of mine since I'm on anon and can't be attacked :) 1. I always shipped Jackie/Eric to the point where they're a true OTP of mine. I have no idea why. Usually when I ship non-canon couples, it's because they're very close friends whose personalities seem incredibly compatible to me...but Jackie and Eric aren't especially close (despite being in the same general group), and they don't seem very compatible or even to care about and respect each other that much. (Though Jackie's "hero" line melts me!) Tbh, it probably just comes down to the fact that Jackie and Eric are by far my two favorite characters. I love analyzing, writing about them, and envisioning how they might have worked if I conveniently ignore 97% of canon. I'm pathetic :) 2. I wouldn't really like Hyde in real life and don't think he was a particularly good romantic partner at all. (*ducks*) I mean, he was an improvement over Kelso, but who isn't?! I just think fandom idealizes him a bit too much. It's a matter of taste, though---the super 'edgy, rebel, proudly rude, 'duuude, I shoplift and smoke a lot of weed and would rather set myself on fire than eat in a mainstream chain restaurant' kind of guys just aren't my personal type :) 3. Sort of related to the first two confessions: I don't think Jackie and Hyde would make each other happy long term. They had some wonderful moments on the show, but I really just don't think they'd give each other what they want. 4. I don't really get how some newer fans turn Laurie into this root-worthy 'girlboss' who's just misunderstood- she's supposed to be unrepentantly, hilariously terrible, and she is! Sometimes it really is as simple as that :) 5. (*whispers*) More often than not, I enjoy Kelso. Obviously as a boyfriend to Jackie, but as a character who - for me - really does add a lot of humor and energy to the show. i can't wait to read yours, and please don't hate me for mine!
Don't you mean, obviously not as a boyfriend to Jackie?
To your points.
1. Jackie and Hyde can work long term, to me. They're stubborn, but they give eachother what they want. Love and stability.
2. I do think Laurie was mistreated by her mother and was unrightfully slut shamed. However, she goes beyond this, and willingly home wrecks. Ultimately, she falls back into her old patterns whenever things get hard. She has potential to be better, but she is morally grey, if you will. She is willing to do almost anything to get what she wants.
*****
Okay, now mine.
1. I've said this before, but I think T9S is worse than season 8. If only because season 8 is way easier to fix.
2. I tend to regard season 8 as canon, if only because it logistically meshes (unfortunately). Both post-season 8 and post-season 7 verses are canon. T9S is not, since it logistically clashes with both, in a huge way (*cough* sixteen year old Jay *cough*).
3. I do not think Jackie can truly overcome all of her conservative biases via Hyde. She would really struggle to accept a child that seriously strays from the norm. It sucks. It's one of those things where she outwardly accepts it, to be politically correct, but it's obvious that it's not how she really feels. She'd ultimately accept a gay or bi kid, but it would take her years to accept a trans/gender non-conforming kid. And even then, she still wouldn't get it/understand it.
4. Okay, T7S takes place in the past. Blatant historical anachronisms, to adhere to modern standards, do way more harm than good. It leads some readers to believe things were better than they actually were, which is a fucking disservice. I strive to be historically accurate, not just in material things, but in attitudes too. It varies from character to character, but still.
5. Jackie, for the most part, would be awful irl. I've met good Jackies in the past, but a lot of bad ones, too (*cough* family members *cough*).
6. Only Jackie, and maybe Fez, would be a Swiftie.

Hihi! Oc post here about Kere and Oveah because I've been meaning to post about them anyways, and @dyson-the-vacuum asked me about them so of COURSE I'm going to oblige ♡
(More Below Cut)
Tumblr media
So, Kere and Oveah are two young adults (no one kept track of their ages, but like, 19/20) who were raised in Space in a place that humans usually aren't found.
To cut the story very to-the-point, Kere and the aliens who raised him land on the planet where Oveah has lived all his life. Oveah acts as ambassador for the new aliens since he's the only sentient thing there, and after some shenanigans Kere and Oveah end up in love.
To go more in-depth:
Kere Kcora, Age 20(ish), 6'1", He/They
Kere was a young child when the space-exploration crew he was with was captured by hostile forces. The crew was killed or sold off into lavor/expetimentation/etc for species who weren't friendly with Earth. Kere, as a baby, ended up with the Kcora. (A race that has a tech-based hivemind that absorbs other species into itself to learn.)
The Kcora decided that he was too young to fully absorb into the hivemind, so instead they partially connected him and left him be somewhat independent. It was originally a study that wasn't meant to last, but somehow the hive as a whole decided that leaving Kere as a half-hive would suffice.
As he grew older, Kere started acting as a mediator between species on planets and his own people, since he had free will at all times it made things easier. Kere rarely connects to the hivemind unless he's in distress, and he's very brash and unapologetic. He has his entire hive behind him, so what's to fear?
Kere's design is actually lacking tech in comparison to the rest of the Kcora. His right arm was only replaced after he asked for it to be (He didn't look enough like his family.) and his chest has that glowing target shape which monitors his emotions and physical wellbeing (the center ring pulses with his heartbeat, the outer ring glows brighter/dimmer based on his mental state) and was placed on him when he was young. He'd never let these devices be taken from him willingly.
Oveah Eden, Age 19(ish), 5'9", (He/It/They)
He also has a lot of wires and glowing implants just beneath his skin that mimic an android body without having to actually replace parts, hense the lines along his legs and the slight glow/color given off by his hair. They don't harm him at all, just look a bit more pleasing and make him blend into tye vibes better.
Oveah was born on Earth, but as an infant his family was chosen to move to a new colony. On the way there, the ship crashed into a planet known as Eden. There were very few survivors, but Oveah's parents and himself were among them. His parents cared for Oveah the best they could, they outlasted the other settlers at least, but they too died due to the hostile environment and wilds on Eden.
Having said that, the planet had sentience. Just enough to decide to keep Oveah alive. Incubate him in a plant pod until he was old enough to comprehend language and do basic survival tasks. He was about 11 perhaps when Eden woke him from the incubation, and he already had the understanding and teachings beyond an average 11 y/o might (same way the Planet understood what the settlers were saying/doing despite not ever having seen humans before. Understanding chemical energies and subtle things that happen subconsciously to convert it into sonething recognizable w/o any thought).
Oveah was given a rock (which can be seen in his headband) that Eden uses to communicate directly with Oveah through. Hid whole life he was very self-sufficient with executing tasks, but without the advising of Eden in his ear, he had no curiosity or personal drive to accomplish things. Often if Eden ignored him for a day, it would find him slumped in its sleeping nest where it was that morning. Very rarely does Oveah find sonething that interests them outside of Eden's guided suggestions. The planet trues to socialize him, but with no other living sentience to communicate with, there was nothing to be done.
Oveah's design is very lightly colored. His jacket is made of left-over material from a space-suit he found tucked in a stump once, and the rest of it he weaved/sewed himself. His hair is tinted pink thanks to the incubation period slightly altering his DNA.
The Kcora are a traveling species that will mine for ores from older planets, though they've learned to only take from one section at a time as to not deplete resources. They've been to Eden before, Millenia before the boys were born, buy they return to the planet with the hopes of once again mining that protected section of the planet.
Kere is sent with a small group to meet Eden's representative (in all the recent centuries Eden has been abandoned in the record books) and that's how they meet.
Kere is the first thing in a long time that genuinely interests Oveah, meanwhile Oveah is adorable in Kere's eyes while also being extremely unsocialized which bothers him. From their first few meetings onwards, Kere is insistent on Oveah trying out new experiences, while Oveah is working through his interest in Kere.
The first time Kere sleeps on Eden he unintentionally plops sideways onto Oveah and the poor planet-boy is never away from Kere's side ever again. Touch (whether that be soft like swiping hair away or sitting beside eachother, or it's rough-housing and tumbling around in the mud) is what ultimately brings them together.
The Kcora are notorious for their closeness, but only mentally. Because their minds are linked, their bodies rarely have time for affections like humans. Only because they realized Kere would thrive in a more touch-based environment did they start hugging him or giving him head pats or sparring. He never went a day w/o friendly touch. Meanwhile Eden was full of dangerous and untamed creatures that Oveah could never tame, so he was utterly alone all his life. The first time Oveah asked to rest in the same space, Kere was happy to smother him in cuddles (platonic, at the time) simply because he rarely got the opportunity with the Kcora. It wasn't the same.
And eventually, when Pveah had to move off-planet for a while to let the surface shift and do things that definitely would've killed him, he rarely left Kere's side. They were practically the same entity for the week or so that they had.
