Good news: autistic social and emotional and everything else holiday related burnout is manageable because I can hyper focus on Pokémon scarlet all day since I don’t have classes
Bad news: screen headache and EDS joints make my fingers hurt with the switch if I hold it too long
Good news again: got money so I’m ordering myself either finger braces or compression gloves since my hand joints have gotten worse.
#anyways I’ll post about sv for a bit but I’m going to still take a couple days before I’m like. talking to people again#I’m so extroverted that I sometimes forget I’m still autistic and get that social burnout#and i sometimes feel like I should be able to bounce back even though I know that’s not how that works#I’m so ised to being a daily social person that when I need to leave friends on read for a bit I feel bad#even though I know they understand#there’s also a ‘I’m almost 21 and should be able to deal with it’ feeling but I know that’s just internalized stuff#anyways I’m doing ok though#what I LOVE about tumblr is I can just yell into the void and I don’t have to actually converse#like I’m letting everyone know how I’m doing without it being a conversation#which is the autistic dream tbh#maybe that’s why there’s a billion of us here

au where third life grian accidentally puts himself in a time loop because he can’t stand to see to scar die, except now he has to watch it happen every single day and it hurts just as badly as it did the day before :)
#should i be asleep? most definitely i work in less than 8hrs#HOWEVER! brain wont stop thinking about scarian and time loops#grian had watcher powers btw#that’s how he can do that#idk if the timeloop would end by grian saving scar or accepting that scar’s meant to be dead#the second one would hurt more which means it’s probably the right option considering the nature of third life#tbh my dream would be to be stuck in a time loop for just like a month or two#and i know that sounds torturous but imagine: if you worked you could call out everyday and when the time loop ends you’ve only called out#once. and you could buy all the things you want and travel anywhere you’d please and you could experience so much#you could do all the things you’ve been so scared of doing because of other peoples reactions and you could tell people things and gauge the#reaction you get from it. and maybe i’m just autistic but i want a trial run?? you know??? but that’s just me#au concept#desert duo

i will get bug fables but I need to wait for my brother to help because we are out of space on the switch and I am too technologically illiterate to try to change the SD card and figure out how all that works. If I try it myself I will probably end up setting something on fire somehow
#technically there’s enough storage space if I offload some games but uh#my brother hates it when I do that and wants an actual solution which. is fair#I am just very impatient#be prepared for bug fables posting. probably.#will most likely yap about it unless I find it really uninteresting which I doubt#I am the opposite of the technologically savvy autistic person stereotype#I have the I Cannot Figure Technology Out And I Will Die type of autism#I know someone who’s amazing with technology meanwhile I am over here unable to find the on/off button lmao#not a pikmin post#can’t wait for the funny bug game……..#tho I will probably be very bad at it tbh I’m not very good at video games despite loving them#I still have not finished dream den in pikmin 2 🧍uhhh

Can I get a uhhhhhh laios with a guy/gn reader who has an equally autistic special interest in general biology and ecosystems that would 100% encompass monsters as well? Asking for a friend that just happens to be me (stg idk if I wanna smooch laios or be him tbh lmao)
an: though i haven’t written for an autistic yn, i’ll try to make it realistic. if i’d done something wrong, please tell me. i focused more on general dungeon ecology for y/n.
if marcille is studying about dungeon ecosystems while laios is more interested in monsters you would be the best of both worlds.
there’s just something thrilling about dungeon ecology, how it all interacts, every thing that fall under it and so on and so forth.
you’re a tall-man researcher, using every bit of your time to find out more about dungeons, and not just the ones in melini. it would have been good to join the magic academy, but since you don’t posses any talent for magic, you can’t enter.
it made you sad since they had a dungeon making class.
nevertheless, it won’t stomp your dreams of researching! you’ve read and copied countless of books you can get your hands on. eventually you settled in meleni where a newly discovered dungeon was found.
your room was filled with countless of journals, trinkets from dungeons and volumes of books you read many time before.
and on your first dungeon party, you were very ecstatic. too bad you had to leave because they’d only go to the easier upper floors. you wanted to head to the lowest level after all!
and that’s where you meet up with the touden party!
you will love marcille’s vast dungeon knowledge. she would love to teach you new things. much to chilchuck’s dismay, you have boosted her ego. endless praises for marcille and simply doting around her because she’s filled with knowledge.
“ah, long lifespans are so great. i’d spend all my life dedicating to dungeon ecology if i could” -y/n after every lecture apparently.
then monster facts with laios will be endless. he lent you his dungeon food guide and you surprisingly have a copy too! you took notes from the things he had written in the margin. much to chilchuck’s demise (again) both you and laios keep on talking and he can’t sleep :((
“eating monsters? can’t say i have thought about it, but do you ever think about their nutritional values? the high level of mana concentration must vary from non-dungeon born same species! This needed to be compared and studied!” -y/n when laios introduced his monster eating thoughts.
toshiro will have another person to ask about his life in the east. but he likes how you keep more time to yourself writing in the journals. he finds your drawing to be artistic. after seeing your difficulties with papers, toshiro will teach you about yotsume toji—a book binding process from his country. he’s happy to see you using it after he taught you.
though you won’t talk with namari much, you admire he strength as a dwarf. she keeps her past to herself, which you at least respect. but you’d talk about the different weapons used and other things she did as a blacksmith. her knowledge on materials is very handy. you write about the different dungeon materials on your journal along with the best weapons against monsters.
chilchuck, our lock expert, and the most unknown member of your party… you admire his knowledge on traps and have written about his experiences with various dungeon traps and ways of disarming them.
falin, she joins you as you ask questions to marcille or laios. she listens to you talk about your dungeon experiences and she tells you about her’s. you let her read the journals you made along the way.
On the day falin was eaten by the dragon, your journal wasn’t transported with you. So now, you join laios to rescue his sister and to save you journals!!
Request? Open!

slowly offers you my pjo ocs.... accept? all the info you could ever want (/j) about them below cut
in order of the images, l to r, up and down: 1) THE ONE, THE ONLY... JADE SINCLAIR!!! "she, daughter of witchcraft, will reap" ive got a lot to say about her.... 1. shes like the percy of my ocs, the new plaything of the gods after percy becomes an adult. she/they, 14 (12 at the time of her main quest), daughter of hecate, bi. REALLY good at magic and controlling the mist. i mean... shes a hecate kid, shes great at magic and can do almost anything
the little gem on her athame (the weapon) was given to her by her dad, which was given to him by hecate. it kind of forms paths for her while shes fighting, resembling the whole crossroads hecate thing... shes able to call upon hellhounds by whistling!!! her strongest magic is related to night/the moon, so dark magic, you could say. her fatal flaw is kindness, which might be surprising based on her looks and abilites. shes too trsuting, kind, and isnt a big fan of killing. also, alexeis gf!!! btw all of her super cool magic stuff (the paths, whistling, etc) has cooldowns
part of the quest trio also i wrote something for the first prophecy but technically its not a poem so??? does it count?? idk: When night falls, the child of magic must seek out a key. With a child of tricks and a child of sleep, She, daughter of witchcraft, will reap. Lunionem* in hand, a stone to guide, Follow the moonlight through the night, Down to Hades, and with friends to help set her right, She'll find the key and seal the fight. * her athame, which is a knife used in rituals!! 2) "a child of tricks" NATHAN "NATE" TRICKER!!! hermes kid, obvi... he/him, 15 (13 at time of main quest), bi. really good at manipulation, pranking, and tricking people (who wouldve thought?) gets compared to luke a LOT, as hes kind of a big brother to all the campers who are younger than him (he is basically a better luke tbh) he hates the comparison though (he didnt even know the guy!!!). nate's fatal flaw is feelings of inferiority. his sword is meant to represent hermes' caduceus and i probably spelt that wrong but whateva. part of the quest trio. 3) kiki, the latest one i made. she has no last name for now lol. dionysus kid, can instill madness into people. she/they/xe, 17, pan. not much to say about them tbh. fatal flaw is not taking things seriously lol 4) MY SON ALEXEI ARKWRIGHT!! hephaestus kid, got burnt lol SKILL ISSUE!! a nerd... he/him. hes 14, demiboy, ace, and omni. good at forgery, a bit skilled at sewing though thats probably not a hephaestus thing. jades bf (his failboy swagger captivated her). autistic and has ocd. everyone has adhd and dyslexia tho obvi. fatal flaw is hesitation. 5) "a child of sleep" PHOEBE DREMA!! hypnos kid, 13 (11 at time of mian quest), aroace, sapphic, she/her. can control dreams, hypnotize ppl, and can cause people to become eepy. narcoleptic, falls asleep super easily and isnt the best at fighting. HOWEVER, her fatal flaw is ambition/recklessness, as she loves a good challenge/fight. ALSO FUNFACT: her arrows are dipped in water from the river lethe, so when someone gets hit with them, they are both injured AND they forget where they are for about 10 seconds. part of quest trio

Imagine: Marrying Jamie (Jamie Tartt x Reader)
Your wedding was very lavish as expected of a footballer and his wife
You had an expensive designer dress
For your wedding vow to him you did a poem that you wrote yourself
His was more simple but heartfelt and meaningful
His dad was NOT invited but his mom and Simon were
His whole team was there, and so were a bunch of kids from one of your jobs
Jamie and his team surprised you with a dance number
Not to be outdone, you sang a mashup. Maybe there was a rap
You and Jamie go to a tropical island that’s exclusive but so, so pretty
You have sex all the time, and everywhere
You also spend a lot of time on the beach, and when you’re not in the water you’re reading
By night you perform karaoke and then go clubbing with him
After your honeymoon you instantly quit your day job
Jamie and your friend Keeley are SHOCKED because you are so good at it and seemed so happy
But really you only did it because you didn’t want to starve and it was the best opinion for someone with no connections or wealth of your own
Keeley insists you could have been a CEO just like her, and though it’s tempting there are other things you would rather do now that money is not an issue
You decide to write full time. Anything and everything. Books. Movies. Plays. Stand up comedy.
You visit Jamie’s talent agency with him and ask if you need a separate agent for each thing you can do
You utilize your newfound social media presence as a way to get speaking gigs about being autistic
You are more likely to get a literary agent because you are Jamie Tartt’s girlfriend with a shit ton of Instagram followers
You are able to make short films with the money you now have and enter then into film festivals and put them on YouTube
You miss kids. Like really miss them.
But school curriculums are too general for what you want to cover, and repetitive, and you don’t want to chance a troublemaker in your class
You think it’s unfair that specialized stuff only starts in college
And you love being around preteens
So you start a nonprofit in which you teach 9-12 year olds creative writing
And they don’t have to pay bc tbh you don’t think their parents would pay for it
The kids love it, they’re not afraid to mess up and be goofy and laugh
Perfection isn’t the goal, just having a good time
At first you feel a little guilty about spending Jamie’s money to buy a whole new designer wardrobe
But then he reminds you how marriage works and how what’s his is yours and you feel less bad
But you try your best to use your speaking gig money or book advance money for stuff like that
You know he would happily fund your creative pursuits though
You’re very happy in your decision not to work a traditional job because now you can spend more time on what makes you happy
Now to the romantic stuff
Jamie is a great husband
So thoughtful and caring
He offers to do chores when you’re too exhausted
Is very supportive of everything you want to accomplish
Plans very romantic dates for both of you
Doesn’t pressure you into having kids
You have sex all the time now that you live together
Loves having you at his games but understands if something else comes up
Keeps buying you expensive bags and jewelry
You two get a puppy together that likes to sleep in your bed with you
Always makes sure to give you detailed compliments every day
Is very understanding of you not wanting to physically carry and birth a child
Posts about you all the time
Brags to his teammates about how beautiful and sexy you are
Every time he comes across someone who might help you out with your dreams he brings you up
Leaves you alone for hours so you can read without being distracted by how hot he is
You guys try out each others’ sex fantasies
You two go on vacation together whenever there’s a long weekend or football season is over
He hates whoever you do
He loves that you’re obsessed with him
You guys take care of each other whenever you’re sick
He watches all your favorite stuff with you but refuses to shut up while watching
You have to bribe him not to talk while going to West End shows
He likes it when you cook him dinner after a long day of football practice
He likes making you breakfast in bed
He likes giving you scalp massages and playing with your hair
Basically he treats you like a princess and married life with him is a dream come true

I’d just like to say that you and your comics about Lionblaze have made me care for him and his character more than canon ever could dream to, thank you. I never actually gave him much thought before and saw him as annoying, but now I’ve seen the possible potential he could have as a character because the booms just screwed up his personality, and I love seeing your Lionblaze content. I especially love seeing him as a med cat and him getting closer with Leafpool
Your comment means so much to me,,, I am so happy I helped you appreciate the Lionblaze,,,,
Canon did him so dirty by wasting his potential making him ''standard warrior main character''
The canon will give pieces of his personality, but all these pieces are so incredibly under-exploited and incomplete
As an example, him having moral OCD in PoT is genuinely a really good idea knowing the extent of his power, but they just throw this plotline under the rug in the next book (knowing that it's very hard to get rid of OCD lol) Like we see him losing it in the mountains, we see him going ballistic on Crowfeather and Heathertail. Lionblaze knows how dangerous he can be if he isn't always holding back in battle, and it scares him so bad he has vivid nightmares about killing his loved ones. I think it's the first real time in Warriors we had a main character who had the full potential of becoming a villain the moment he stops holding back. Like that's genuinely really good storytelling, and they just??? throw it away in the next book like it never happened????
This dude kills Russetfur, which should have been his worst nightmare becoming reality. That's it, he finally killed someone. Because for just a few seconds, he got so worried about his leader being attacked and probably killed that he stopped holding back. And yet this is less of a plot point than the obviously accidental death of Flametail. Like Jayfeather tries to save a cat who is drowning and is called a murderer during a Gathering, but Lionblaze who kills Russetfur in front of at least 20 cats, that's fine he was just being silly. Like the writers were writing Lionblaze like crap on purpose at this point they had completely given up on him lmfao
We also see his compassionate and empathetic side shine a few times, mostly when he is the one who forgives Squilf and Leafpool the easiest and the fastest. Lionblaze idolizes Brambleclaw and shows a genuine affection for his dad several times and it's genuinely wholesome. Lionblaze has a few really sweet moments with Leafpool and Squilf in OotS :) i cherish these scenes so much.......
He isn't perfect of course, far from it, he can be a douche (mainly to Heathertail, Breezepelt and Dovewing), he is hot-headed and doesn't think before he speaks or acts, he struggles to communicate properly, he often has a weird tunnel-vision in OotS and doesn't listen to Dovepaw's problems with the care it deserves. For most of PoT, despite going through some tough training as an apprentice and later as a newly made warrior, he is almost completely oblivious to the fact that his own mentor Ashfur as a personal beef with him. As someone with the autism rizz, Lionblaze's communication skills are just so autistic to me. This dude has almost no friends, even his ex-apprentice Dovewing isn't on very friendly terms with him (understandable because he was a bad mentor tbh), he feels safe only around his close family, and messes up almost every friendship and relationship he has because he is incapable of communicating properly. Him trying to date Cinderheart was just Lionblaze being absolutely incapable of understanding her point of view, and then proceeding to literally self harm by letting a ShadowClan massacre him to show Cinderpelt he could be harmed on his own will ?? Like what goes on in the Lionblaze's head ?? is he ok ???
Also they could have made him a medicine cat.... I yearn for the Lionblaze medicine cat plotline so much...... Lionblaze being so incredibly scared of hurting anyone again after his nightmares, or after killing Russetfur, that he just drops all the warrior duties and hides in Leafpool's den all day...... also Jayfeather could have been a warrior 100%, we clearly see him fight very well when he is in tandem with one of his siblings, he is capable of running on ThunderClan territory with no issues once he learned the layout, like there's so excuse anymore StarClan just wanted to ruin his life for entertainment
anyway
They could have done do much more with the Lionblaze.......
#answered#im so sorry i couldn't help infodumping on lionblaze#i cherish lionblaze so much#i know he sucks and he is just a trash character but that's my beloved trash character

okay because i've been rotating it in my head while i have a cold and a fever and why the fuck not babble about this now!
my thoughts on ayin and angela under the cut because i have a LOT of them!
so i want to preface this with a very important disclaimer
NO MATTER WHAT ELSE I SAY HERE, AS A HUGE FAN OF AYIN (as you might notice he's my #1 projmoon blorbo), what Ayin did to Angela was wrong, and cruel, and unjustifiable, and she is 100% within her rights to hate him and resent him and have complicated feelings towards him and do everything she did in Ruina. No matter what I say about my thoughts on why he did it, I don't intend it to be an excuse or justification because it's not. He owes her an apology at the bare minimum and she does NOT owe him forgiveness or anything of the like if she doesn't feel like it. He was a total asshole and she deserved better.
THAT SAID
at the same time i don't think that ayin did what he did out of 100% outright malice and genuine hatred. i think he did what he did because he was extremely fucking traumatized, definitely probably autistic, and has the communication and emotional skills of a wet sock.
do i think he genuinely cared about angela? yes.
for what it's worth he LITERALLY CREATED A LIFE. LITERALLY. FROM SCRATCH. there's no way he didn't care about her on some level even if just as a creation because do you know how much work would have had to go into that? at some point even if he was doing it for selfish carmen related reasons he still had to care about her for her own sake on some level
(vaguely related but the fact that ayin did do this - plus just all of how lobcorp works as a wing - makes me think his background is in compsci or computer engineering or smth of that nature, with ben similarly in those fields / headcanon wise i run with he was originally compsci but after An Incident in which his own dreams were shattered he shifted to abnormal psych)
do i think he did not react well to the consequences of his actions when she finally woke up and he had to process he gave his creation the face of his dead crush + angela was completely trusting and obedient to him and even acted almost in love with him? also yes
is this justified for him? no. is it his own fucking fault for being selfish and stupid? yes.
do i think some of his cruelty towards her was not just out of lashing out via trauma and horror at what he'd done, but pushing her away the more she acted trusting/obedient bc he knew what he was setting her up to do via the script and felt tremendously guilty that he was doing this to someone who trusted him so implicitly? yes.
was, again, it justified? no.
but again, the bottom line is that while what he did was wrong and cruel, i don't think he hates her truly or that he harbored any malice towards her. i think he cared, and felt horribly guilty for what he did to her and continued to do to her, but again, trauma and 'tism and the emotional capabilities of a soggy cardboard box.
he owes her one hell of an apology at the LEAST for all he's done tbh
but another thing: i think that the reason he left the script blank for her after everything was finished was because he short-sightedly thought he was "freeing her" to make her own choices by leaving it blank not thinking for a goddamn second she would misinterpret it given his terrible behavior towards her up til that point. again, not out of malice but out of selfishness and idiocy and not knowing how to communicate At All
i also do think by the end of things after all those loops as X with her as one of the only anchors, he softened a lot towards her as he processed better how they were both trapped in an endless hell of his past self's making, and there's a lot to be said about how their feelings about each other are stupidly complicated due to all his interactions w her as X without his memories of what he'd done, and as he went thru the loops dying/committing suicide/suffering with her as the only witness. i like to think that though she hates him and has every right to and to not forgive him, it's extremely complicated and there's definitely a level of....something, having seen him suffering, but she's flawed and human and wonderful and stubbornly holding onto her hate and resentment and she's valid.
idk how much sense any of this makes but tldr ayin fucked up and treated his daughter like absolute shit and she's entirely in the right to hate/resent him and never forgive him but i don't think he truly hated her, i think he's just a fucked up idiot who made stupid choices out of trauma etc etc etc
tune in next time when i talk about how despite ayin's shitty life choices being his own shitty choices carmen absofuckinglutely gaslit the goddamn hell out of him and that deserves to be talked about! or when i talk about how ayin's shitty actions towards trapping the sephirah in the brainboxes AS sephirah was probably out of a misguided and selfish attempt to "save" them using the seedling of light process because he had regrets and cared about them and loved them and did all of that shit re: them out of coping badly with trauma mental illness and autism! (tho this is ostensibly explicitly canon imho).
holds up ayin. this is a traumatized autistic depressed mess of a man and he did so many stupid shitty things but he's not evil he's just a flawed human and ALL OF THIS is why dantayin theory (u knew it'd come up) because nobody LEAST OF ALL ANGELA truly got closure with this dumbass and they deserve that as much as he deserves a proper ending
#projmoonblogging#ayin lobcorp#ayin lobotomy corporation#angela lobcorp#angela lobotomy corporation#angela lor#angela library of ruina#angela is a fantastic character and i adore her#and as an ayin fan i advocate for her to be the pettiest bitch to him til the end of time bc he deserves it#and yet i also would like them to have closure at some point

I always thought of canon Ink as someone who would be judged a lot for his behaviours and mannarisms (not essentialy about his soullessness, just in general tbh, if we're going to take how people in fandom treat/view Ink as a character of course).
Also, it's canon that he has a very hard time understanding social interaction (something that is said in the FAQ and obvious in original work with him), so much so that he canonically doesn't present himself in conversations and has trouble in handleing a typical back in forth conversation (example, he wouldn't say 'hi! My name is Ink, nice to meet you!' but instead point out something he's interest in and keep talking about it). Because of that, he's seems at first as a 'jerk' without intention.so It's canon that people DO look down on him.
Besides for other autistic traits too. Like him being ''unable'' to read emotions and not understanding/having apathy to emotional situations-prefers logical ones, also being unable to deal with changes (comyet said that part of his 'follow the script' mentality comes from him being genuinely being unconfortable with 'sudden changes', having trouble w/understanding tone and people's actual emotions and general thoughts, ESP when people aren't being super literal and are trying to have underlying messages, having canon hyperfixations that can (and do) get in the way of a ''typical'' conversation/relation, generally having big emotions reactions and none at the same time etc....
He is so autistic coded it’s actually crazy. Roseverse Ink is really not that different than Canon ink, actually, and just is verbally stated to be autistic. He has more obvious meltdowns than canon Ink but besides that? RoseVerse Ink’s autistic traits that will be shown in episode three are just canon Ink’s traits.
Something you mentioned reminded me of how RV! Dream and RV!Ink meet. The first thing Ink does when he sees Dream for the first time is rattle on about how the color that Dream’s eyes are reminds him of the doodlesphere and talks all about his job before even saying his name.
And Dream LOVES IT. He gives no shit about who she is nor is he changed by her aura. Going from worshipped and then treated like a fallen god who disappointed their disciples to just some random girl this new kid doesn’t blink an eye at is an incredible feeling. They become friends immediately. Which is a shock to Ink, when Dream quickly introduces herself and tells him with star struck eyes that the DoodleSphere is amazing and that he doesn’t have to stop talking ever as long as she’s allowed to walk with him. Which Ink, equally as star struck now, agrees instantly and pulls her along.
They have their quarrels, but if Error was still around to see it, he’d be proud to see his little brother being adored like he deserves, despite everything.

Aesop Carl Headcanons ⚰️🌼🌻 [Identity V]
-He is sensitive to some textures, which is why he uses gloves even outside of his work.
-I can see him being surprisingly good with kids and animals, as long they don’t startle him or bother him too much.
-Speaks very little, only when necessary. (Tho tbh this is heavily implied to be canon lol)
-Used to visit his mother’s grave often as a child, especially when he had a bad day or needed some sort of comfort.
-I was thinking on why he would need a mask for his profession, but then I thought, it’s probably to avoid the smell of strong chemicals and corpses, and maybe for some hygiene thing. So yeah, he could use his mask to avoid certain unpleasant or strong smells due to his sensitivity.
-He ironically sometimes sleeps stiff as a rock, with his arms crossed to his chest, like a dead person.
-occasionally has eyebags.
-Pale af
-has a few moles on his body.
-Pretty lean and slim.
-Body temp is cold af
-Isn’t very fond of physical contact, the only one who he felt 100% comfortable with that was his mother.
-Absolute menace when he is actually pissed and pushed to his limit. Will also stare daggers at your soul.
-I feel like if anyone interested in makeup would ask him tips, he could give some, he is pretty decent at it due to his job, despite the fact he doesn’t really use makeup on himself.
-Definitely a cat person.
-When wick (Victor’s/Postman’s Dog) saw Aesop, he immediately detected something was off about him, but he wasn’t aggressive towards him, more like, cautious.
-Had to dealt with insomnia for a while as a kid when his mother passed away.
-He also has had dreams with her mom being involved. And also of his father, but they are super vague and foggy.
-Probably heavily implied, but was homeschooled for a huge part of his life, thinking that perhaps he got personal tuttors at some point? He is middle class and his dancing emote does give more of a fancy slightly higher status vibe. But definitely not rich af. But yeah, was homeschooled for a big while.
-He would probably read books occasionally, walk around in a garden or just be lost in thought.
-Has dealt with many silent panic attacks
-He also learn to subconsciously mask his autistic traits
-Jerry Carl taught him all kinds of different chemical uses. So Carl has a bit of chem knowledge.
-As a kid he used to read a lot of books and sketch when he had a rough time at school or when dealing with his mother’s death.
-He could spend hours in a library, at school he spent there for a while, to the point the library staff knew him pretty well.
-He never got to truly cope with his mother’s death, as a coping mechanism he kinda- did not have the strongest reaction to her death, and probably since he was a kid, not having a full grasp of death and being surrounded by the dead also kinda normalized his semi-numb feeling of her passing. He is still loves her deeply and there where moments where he missed her (specially as kid)
-Since he is implied to be Italian (His ONCE skin, and the fact his “Gatto” skin literally means cat in italian). It would be so funny if he is actually just flabbergasted when someone shows him a pineapple pizza or cuts pasta with scissors.
He isn’t even angry he is just- so utterly confused.
“What- just…why would you do that?”
-His mom cooked traditional Italian food when he was young, he still enjoys it as an adult. He definitely strikes me as a all sorts of pasta enjoyer. And maybe risotto too.
-There was a period he struggled SO BAD with food due to textures and smell
-Despite the fact he his hands have been through hell due to his job (chemicals and stuff), his hands are surprisingly soft. In general his skin is soft. He mostly uses specific creams and soaps, and avoid any product that he doesn’t like its smell or texture.
-very hygienic, and clean in general, not only to himself but with his room and belongings in general, he sees cleaning more like a pass-time than tedious. Helps clear his thoughts.
-He also has an specific order of organizing his belongings, and if something doesn’t go where it has to he will freak out a bit.
-He absolutely loathes whenever survivors have to heal him or treat him for medical purposes, he hates the smell, the touching, everything. Every time it happens he just prays that this gets over very quickly. And sometimes doesn’t tell ppl about his minor injuries to avoid treatment.
-He isn’t very fond of decoding sometimes, due to some of the weird loud sounds it can make, but he has no choice unfortunately.
-As with unlocking the gate, he doesn’t have a problem with it’s sounds but he does get very uncomfortable if he feels that the rest of the survivors are staring at or are near him. He feels pressured.
-whenever he is upset or overwhelmed he will shake his leg violently, or bite his thumb, or walk around anxiously, or fidget with his hands.
-Very picky about music, I feel like he would be a calm classical music kind of guy, anything that soothes him or is chill works for him.
-practices a bit of dancing alone on his passtime
-He likes butterflies and birds

cannot stop thinking about ur posts about pokespe red they love rent free in my mind (specifically the one about his role of being The Fighter and his relationship w deoxys) that being said can I ask about ur favorite things about Red or general headcanons :-D
THANK YOU SO MUCHHHH I love him so dearly... pokespe red my adored...
[ID: a screenshot from the pokespe manga of red holding out pika, who is holding a master ball. End ID]
I love love LOVEEE his entire deal tbh. how by proxy to every other protag in pokespe he seems 'normal' despite being absolutely BONKERS. how he casually says shit like this because, frankly, he's oblivious to a lot of social cues and doesn't want to be alone!
[ID: a screenshot from the pokespe manga of red saying "Why don't we just join the contest together?" while every dex holder up to the emerald arc looks shocked and says "Wha?" in the background. End ID]
He's very much Autistic to me and i love how his narrative in fire red is genuinely extremely existential and questioning why he does... anything! why is he the way he is? What motivates him? And he can't come up with anything! And that's AMAZING to me.
I love when characters seem like they have a clear path of Purpose but it's not quite by their own volition. Sure, he attained his goal of being champion! But once you accomplish your dream, what do you even do after that? Well. That's what he has to figure out.
PLUS! he has another of one of my favorite things: accepting his own death and HAVING TO CONTINUE TO LIVE ANYWAY. YOURE NOT GETTING OUT THAT EASILY IDIOT!!!!!!!! Just because you have accepted yourself as the martyr doesn't mean that act will be fulfilled!!!! Dying's easy, living's the hard part!!!!!!!! Idk. I'm extremely fond of Red and believe he needs so many mobility aids for his chronic pain (in my mind the ice shackles gave him nerve damage) thank you for coming to my ted talk
[ID: a screenshot of red in the firered chapters in which he is screaming about being unworthy of owning a Pokédex with text edited over to say “men will literally have a breakdown on the beach about not being able to beat dexoys and therefore deem themselves worthless instead of getting a mobility aid.” End ID]

I want to say that a new comfort character/new kinnie/new hyperfixation just walked in. He's just like me fr
Welcome to the club, Marvin.
I mean, he's very relatable to me as an autistic and aroace boy. I even run like him due to being hyperactive, when I'm just walking then I just start running, I used to say that I ran like a Peanuts' character
I got to know him better while developing my hyperfixation in Looney Tunes, starting with The Looney Tunes Show. I loved how Bugs and Lola has a "love song", Daffy sings a song about how it feels to be in love using Tina as his reference (as talking about giant sirens and giant robots but even so), Speedy has a song trying to advice Porky to have a girlfriend and, meanwhile, Marvin has a song about how his heart is crumbling to pieces for feeling betrayed about his laser beam not turning on anymore. He even says that he never felt closer to anyone in his life; I know this song was supposed to be funny or something like that but I did relate because I feel more and more distant from people and the feeling is that I bond more with fictional characters or objects (mainly books), I was ashamed of admitting that but Marvin just got me the feeling that it's alright and it isn't something to be ashamed off. And it warmed my heart. By the way, when I was younger I remember saying as a joke that I was an alien because it was my way of comforting myself for feeling wrong and out of place with people in general, btw I even had an oc based on me that was an alien as well to comfort me even more. And Marvin is a martian-
I'm obsessing over Marvin and the massive comfort he is currently bringing to me; as more as I'm searching and founding out more stuff about him, the more relatable he feels to me and this is a wonderful feeling. I felt out of place for a huge part of my life, and he makes me feel that it's okay to be different and that we can be different together
I started noticing this stuff yesterday, and yesterday was my birthday so it was a very meaningful birthday gift from the universe to me to my mind. It made this whole stuff even more significant.
(By the way we both are intjs 5w6 choleric-melancholic, I grew out of thinking mbti is a big deal but I will definitely make this specific fact the biggest deal ever, i mean it has to be a sign!)
I'm currently in my flop era but I'm so comfortable with this post which I wrote with my heart so open that I won't even mind if it flops tbh
Edit/PS.: another happy coincidence is that here in Brazil where I'm from he's voiced by my FAVORITE brazilian voice actor. The one that made me realize that I liked doing different voices when I was still a child, helping me figuring out my dream of being a voice actor someday. Yay. Marvin is almost too good to actually exist as a character

hihi!! i don't know exactly what to ask but i'm super curious. looking at you with my autistic eyes, if you want to talk about your religion, feel free to tell me any aspect of it that you want to talk about..,.,
AHAJJDKSK YAY OKAY !!!!!!!! i don’t get to talk about it irl because.. im the only person i know who practices it. so omg yippie
okay so i practice hellenic polytheism, which is just a fancy was of saying worshipping the ancient Greek Gods. surprise, their worshippers still exist!!!!!! tbh i completely understand why some people get freaked out or confused whenever they find out (another reason why i usually keep it under wraps most of the time) because.. it’s weird as fuck from an outside perspective. without any genuine knowledge of modern day hellenism, it’s strange seeming.
i’m personally a devotee to Lady Aphrodite, Goddess of love, beauty, and passion! it’s actually kinda fun how i came to worship her. a few years ago when i discovered hellenism, i was like woah.. this resonates…. and then that night i had a dream where a beautiful woman held my face and told me i was a follower of Lady Aphrodite. which was freaky and all woahhhhsjsjdjf what. the fuck? and now that i’m typing it out it sounds Very Strange. i promise im in the right state of mind i just have weirdly personal dreams sometimes
UHHANSNFK ANYWAYS. i love Lady Aphrodite very much and nothing makes my blood boil than seeing people spread hatred and bigotry in her name. i’ve seen a few TERFs claim her messaging and use her symbols as way to hate trans people and it’s like. whhat the fuck are you on about. have you even read her myth. do you even know anything about her. in certain theologies she was formed from a castrated penis and sea foam. and don’t even get me started on her children??????? anyways. Lady Aphrodite is not a fucking TERF for fucks sake
i’m actually not quite sure what else to say without getting into the real nitty gritty and personal stuff. if you have any more questions i’m so down to answer i love rambling about Lady Aphrodite
#again it’s not a religion you see often irl nowadays so i get any confusion or uneasiness#so if you’re reading this and are like. Oh What The Fuck Is She On. i 100% get it#it’s confusing at times ahajjdkdka#religious talk#<- new tag yippie !!!

honestly the part of mash that i consider the time loop IS the syndication of it all. it’s already so screwy with time and now it must all happen over and over and over again, in its unstuck messy order or out of it, because we need it to, because it moves us every time we see it and we must keep it playing. it’s like the thing in the musical hadestown where they know they have to tell the story again, because we must keep ourselves hoping that things could turn out better, even if the story remains the same. that’s mash to me. the war goes on. which war is it anymore? we tell the story again, it all happens again, because every time it makes us laugh, cry, get angry, it keeps us connected to each other and to our humanity. or something like that wow i got maudlin as hell in your inbox excuse me. i’m normal about mash and i’m normal about cyclical forms of storytelling (lying)
Yeah I love the meta cyclical thing!!!! My thing is just that I'm a pedant and that doesn't make the narrative a time loop (though you can make a time loop out of it, plenty of fic writers do). MASH going on as long as it did had its pros and cons, but one of the pros is this sort of feeling that war is endless, that time loses its meaning.
I think what I dislike about the time loop thing is the "theory" approach. It's like "what if MASH is actually a time loop" like "what if this cartoon is actually a dream this character had while in a coma" or "what if this entire medical drama was the fantasy of an autistic child staring at a snowglobe" (iykyk). And you know, the idea that the time loop "explains" why the timeline is the way it is, or that that needs an explanation at all. It's not that deep! It is very funny.
I haven't seen or listened to Hadestown (I'm the opposite of most musical theatre fans and I rarely listen to shows I haven't seen, although there have been exceptions) and I'm not really the target audience because I don't care about Orpheus and I don't get that "maybe this time he won't do it" feeling from that particular story, but from what I've heard about how they do the ending it's really cool!! It would probably work on me if I saw it tbh.
I love cyclical storytelling! And I think a lot of people in the MASH fandom like the same things I like with regards to playing with time, I notice that when I get into actual conversations. To me the real potential is in the ability of time tropes to portray how something feels. This is why I keep coming back to Slaughterhouse-5 and the idea of being unstuck in time. What Vonnegut did was give us this war veteran who is trying to live out his life, but is frequently, against his will, transported back in time to the most traumatic experiences of his life. Sometimes he's abducted, taken to a place where he is an alien, observed and put on display for everyone. It's PTSD, but made physical by science fiction elements. It's brilliant. And MASH is so ripe to do stuff like that! You can use the funky timeline and the meta of the show lasting 11 years, being rerun again and again and shown in syndication out of order, to dig into that. And I mean I literally have a time loop WIP so.
I really enjoyed this ask <3
#none of us are normal here <3#idk if i feel that way about telling stories again and again or not#i mean my instinct is to say i don't. i like to hear the same stories again and again because they're interesting#there are new details to notice#BUT i have been thinking about human connection most lately#mashposting#also I am getting to your other one I promise

wait I feel like I missed something what is the promise of the cherry blossoms im so curious
EHEHEHE I LOVE THIS QUESTION…
Ok so the promise of the cherry blossoms is my oc story about a highschool basketball club!! I named it that because cherry blossoms are a huge signifier of change and new beginnings, and I want a big part of the overall theme of the story to be that there’s always hope, there’s always room to grow, and you’re never stuck where you started, you can have a new beginning. I haven’t made any actual materials for the story (yet) mostly because I struggle with which format would be best to tell it in.
The story itself focuses on each member of the club, as well as the two managers and their coach. Every character has their own personal story, usually intertwining with some of the others in some way. The other main theme of the story is the idea that what you see on the surface isn’t always everything to a person, and there’s a lot more to them than meets the eye.
The characters:
Starting with the players on the team, we have the captain, Soga Umeno (his surname is subject to change cuz I don’t like how it flows). He’s in his third year, and cares very deeply about the other members of his team, but struggles with how at home he was practically forced to become a parent to his three much younger siblings.
After Soga, the vice captain is a third year named Seki Matsuda (aka Matsu). While Soga is very warm and caring, he is extremely cold and harsh. He believes putting 100% of your effort into everything you do is the best way to be, to the point of it being extremely detrimental to his well being. He is extremely sleep deprived, extremely exhausted, and extremely stuck in his own head. He’s very autistic and has ocd. He’s also (fallen out) childhood friends with the next character.
Onto the other two third years on the team, Kazuha Yumeno (aka Kazu) is the token pretty boy. He’s spectacularly gorgeous, but also spectacularly self centered and vain. Similar to Matsuda, he strives to be the best, but instead of in everything, it’s specifically in beauty. He has an eating disorder and hates himself so so much, and he sacrifices a lot of his life in the name of his beauty, which was a major factor in his and Matsu’s falling out.
For the final third year, we have Akihito Tsukimori. He was one of the first characters I made, when I still didn’t know what I wanted the story to be, and he’s not as fleshed out as the others. He’s a really laid back, cool type, who is a passionate musician who is stuck under his parents’ thumb and cannot pursue his dreams due to their desire for him to follow in family tradition and have some boring normal job, like a doctor or something (I never decided lol. He’s not my fave tbh). He plays trumpet.
For second year, let’s start with Yuta Ito. He was originally the main character before I got rid of the concept of a protagonist in this story. He’s a (mostly) pre transition trans guy who just transferred to this school and has always dreamed of being a professional basketball player, and goddammit he will stop at nothing to be allowed on the boys team and prove he’s just as good (if not better) than all of them. Spoiler, he is better than all of them, not for special reasons, everyone else just kind of sucks.
Next is Kiyohiko Suzuki (or, later in the story, Kiyoko). She was the second character I made and I LOVE her. Upon Yuta’s arrival in the club, she’s introduced to the idea she may not be as cis as she thought, and begins experimenting, only to discover she is in fact a girl. She really struggles with her family in this regard, but especially her relationship with her two older sisters, and the fact that her family favored her for being the “only son”. There’s a lot more to the sisters but that’s too much for this little blurb lol.
For the final second year (there’s supposed to be a fourth but I just… have never made him), we have Hideyoshi Akazuma (aka Hide). He’s pretty much a shoe-in to be the next captain, and he’s essentially perfect at everything he does. He and Yuta don’t get along, especially due to Yuta’s similarities to his twin brother. Hide is extremely pressured by his parents and teachers to uphold this perfect persona, and it puts a lot of tension between him and his peers, but more importantly, between him and his brother.
The first years are arguably my favorite, so let’s start with Daishi Edogawa, as he’s the easiest. Daishi is by far the tallest on the team, and is extremely awkward and nervous. He grew up raised by his mom and grandma, alongside his little sister, Tsuna. Due to this, he never really had any male role models in his life, and now is struggling with his relationship to being a man and his masculinity, and what all of it even means. He also has a crush on the following character, Madoka.
Madoka Kume is everything. He is my boy. I love him. He’s the second smallest of the cast, and matching to his appearance, he has a very strong childlike innocence (for the most part) and naïveté. He was raised by his older sister Utaha, after his mother decided she hated him and severely neglected him. Utaha could have her own section with all this stuff… anyway, Madoka is very aware that his disposition can make it a lot harder on his sister, and desires to become stronger and more independent to ease her burden, but throughout this develops an avoidance to asking for help. He is also autistic, dyslexic, and possesses some other ambiguous learning disabilities.
Following on to my ACTUAL favorite, Hotaru Ibe (previously known as Haruka). He is a former child model who was extremely talented and beautiful, but also very lonely and desperate for human connection. Due to this he experiences some of the horrors of the industry with a photographer acting as his friend and taking advantage of him. After a particularly bad incident, Hotaru quits, decides he’s never doing this again, changes his name and his entire look, and does his best to repress all his trauma with the desire to be “a completely normal kid”. He’s got a lot of shit going on.
And the final player, Ryuunosuke Itori (aka Ryuu), Hotaru’s best friend (Ryuu has a hella crush on him btw). Ryuu is the top of his class, and is extremely similar to Hide and Matsu. He works hard and is is very smart, but the stress starts getting to him. When his delinquent cousin moves in with him, Ryuu finds himself becoming friends with some unsavory types, and soon finds himself spiraling out of control after getting involved in some drug related shit and becomes more and more apathetic and less and less of who he was before. His and Hotaru’s stories (which are actually very intertwined) are probably the heaviest topics.
Onto the two managers, let’s start with Shunichi Itori, a third year, and Ryuu’s older cousin. He’s a delinquent involved in some gang stuff, and after getting detained overnight, his parents are finally fed up and tell him he’s not welcome in their house anymore. His aunt and uncle offer to take him in, if he agrees to put all of that behind him. He takes the offer, and at first he keeps doing bad shit behind their back. They force him to join the basketball club so Ryuu can keep an eye on him, but after he accidentally gets Ryuu involved with his friends, he seems to realize what he’s doing is kind of fucked up, and starts to work on becoming a better person and putting all that stuff behind him, with the help of the other manager.
Aiko Tachibana is a first year, and she’s the third character I made! Her story has shifted a lot, and I have yet to find one that works perfectly. She’s similar to a lot of other characters, she’s very childish but hates being seen this way, has strict parents with high expectations for her, and struggles with her identity. She has anger issues and hates when people don’t take her seriously and struggles with her self image over this. She also has a crush on Suzuki, and believes she likes “mature women”, which factors into her desire to be less childlike.
And of course we have the coach. Her name Maki Ikegami, and she’s an ex professional basketball player who’s career was ended prematurely after an injury. She’s a relatively new addition to the cast and I haven’t worked on her much yet, but she struggles with the new route her life has taken and the way she’s been completely displaced. There’s also supposed to be a club advisor, but I haven’t made them yet oops.
We also have a ton of side characters, such as Utaha Kume (she could have her own section she’s probably the most fleshed out side character), Kiriko and Kaoru Suzuki, Tsuna Edogawa, Ryuu’s currently unnamed prostitute friend (I can’t think of anything that fits her), and many other siblings and family members.
I’m also just now realizing how major a role sibling and family dynamics play in most of these plot lines (unmentioned is how Kazuha and Yuta’s respective brothers are major parts of their characters, among other things).
Sorry for rambling so much I just. Love this story so much and I get excited when anyone asks about it hshdhdjdh

Autistic reading of Hirofumi + general observations
The time has come. I’m talking about cryptid boy. I adore him, and to me he reads as autistic highkey. Earlier today this post happened and it just made me want to get into the nitty gritty of him: https://fumifooms.tumblr.com/post/704906702244429824/his-whole-job-is-keeping-chainsaw-man-alive-and What’s funny too is, because well, we have Asa right there, Yuko too, and arguably others like Denji or Power which, yeah, y’all got a place on the spectrum- But when it comes to Hirofumi people jump a lot to more supernatural explanations for his vibes being “off”. When, like… The fact that you can’t read him isn’t necessarily because he’s some conspiracy. Not to say that he’s not suspicious, he is, but it’s funny to me that people don’t consider that mostly he may just be… Socially inept. Irl people like him exist, I assure you. Autism makes the dream work, amirite.
Tldr: He’s my kind of autism (aka he’s me irl. His behavior was my way of adapting to a neurotypical world, too! I try to keep projection out of this analysis, tho). Developed a mastery of social behavior to seem friendly and casual until his social acting became too much instead of too little (the latter being the one usually associated with autism) and something feels off about him now because he does a front of being neurotypical when he’s autistic as shit. Like a cryptid trying to wear a human suit-disguise and just ends up feeling uncanny, y’know. He’s always cold and calculated on the inside, but attempts to have a warm exterior to put people at ease so he can do his job better and blend in with everyone else without bumps in the road. I’ll spend this analysis mostly pointing out things about him rather than arguing that they’re inherently autistic traits, since we know little about him the argument is first of all about pining down his character rather than arguing about the nature of the traits, tbh. Still, for anyone familiar with autistic traits a lot of these are super self-explanatory, and I won’t explain all the links.
This is long and has tons of pictures, so I’m putting it under a cut!
Pt 1: social outcast? Two worlds
He appears cool guy to most, sure, but no one really ever… Bothers to interact with him? He’s always there TM, but people don’t talk to him, and he usually keeps his input to conversations to minimum (when they aren’t one-on-one). He doesn’t approach anyone, no one approaches him. It’s a mutual “I don’t really care” between him and the rest of the world. Though, he does get singled out and otherized for being successful in devil hunting at his age, when it’s brought up, and so both by fellow devil hunters and classmates. (Most visible in how the school devil hunting club greets him, but also in part 1 Kishibe forgetting a devil hunter could possibly be a highschooler, etc). From what we see it’s implied he has 0 friends.
I do think remembering that he’s a highschooler for this is important, because Yoshida is essentially between two worlds. Professional devil hunting, which makes him have to be cool-headed and works with professional adults, facing death all the time and quickly develop working chemistry with new colleagues, and highschool, where you have to be normal enough and perform socially, esp since we know bullying is a rampant problem his school has. I do think, as an autistic, that would party explain his behavior; switching behaviors and personas for one or the other would be bothersome and erratic, so he mashes both sides of what he has to be into one personality that can work for both worlds, and keeps the same demeanor for every situation he’s in. Casual and friendly enough for school, always cool-headed and ready to face life-or-death situations for devil hunting. The result is this fucking guy. Feels misplaced in every situation he’s in as a reader, imo at least. I do think he realizes that he can be off-putting, but what he does with that information is kinda unclear. I feel like he feels that he’s above others, in many situations. That or very nihilist.
Pt 2: His smile, interactions
His smile is 90% of why I saw him as autistic. It’s such an autistic smile. He sucks at it. It doesn’t reach his eyes, it’s clear that it’s always plastered on and it’s empty. He ends up just looking like a sneaky bastard half the time. And like- Remember that time he wanted to see if the hitman in the alley was an hitman or a civilian? It doesn’t seem like he was going for intimidation at all, because in that same interaction he just goes “hm well he’s scared shitless, it can’t be my target.” Plus he doesn’t comment on the civilian clearly being in range to realize he just killed someone, so that part wasn’t intentional, either. His fucking smile when he looked at him?? Guys, he was trying to approach the guy to casually ask him what he’s doing. That fucking smile, was him being casual to ask a rando something. Also there’s something very autistic and funny in “hey yo you good? You’re not a hitman per chance are you?” “Urgh I don’t feel so good” “ok fair, good argument, bye”
I think that interaction perfectly represents what I was saying about him being stuck between two worlds, though. He has to be threatening and cold enough so that if the guy is the assassin he’s giving enough pressure so that he may slip up, but friendly and normal enough so that if he’s a civilian he didn’t just freak him out, and that balance is very important so that he can get the correct information and assessment. But like, he accomplishes all of that through subliminal messaging lol, through vibes, body language etc however you want to say it. And that duality messes his game up, and he’s quick to make assumptions and be confident that they’re the right ones. The latter point is not only supported by the pages below but also through the way he talked with Kishibe about Makima. He’s very intuitive, and rather impulsive once he thinks he has something figured out. It does backfire on him somewhat regularly. Counting the “I am taking away your cutlery so you can’t eat cake until you listen to me” strategy he tried on Denji lol. More on that later.
He also sucks at conversations. Like, he really does. I haven’t seen him holding a good conversation ever highkey. Which, he doesn’t try much, either, as previously mentioned when he’s not one-on-one he talks extremely little. It was easy to forget about his presence when he was on the rooftop with Denji and Asa arguing, or in the aquarium tbh, or in part 1′s gang. He’s easy to lose in a crowd. It was a whole joke when part 2 started; “Be honest guys who here remembered Yoshida existed?”. People in-world look at him and see nothing notable about him, then promptly forget about him when he autistically sticks to being quiet in a corner, while still doing his job efficiently well. He’s good at seeming well-adjusted and normal on the surface, but keeps people at bay just by being a hard to approach milktoast guy. He blends in with the background. He’s great for spy shit, bad for the rest. He seems like he’d be good for interrogations at first, but beyond being observant he’d be absolute shit at it, like his interactions with the assassin guy and Denji prove. He’s honestly not great at reading people. He can puzzle out characteristics or skills they have, but on the more emotional or social workings he has to be walked through things slowly, or just make wild guesses and risky plays.
Moving on, his infamous lame-ass excuses for always being at the same place as Denji all the time? Yeah. I don’t know how much he tries for them to be believable but we all know they fall really flat. Also the way he laughs when he doesn’t know how to react is hilarious. Hirofumi is such an awkward person
General demeanor, tone deafness
It feels like he’s kinda bored all of the time imo, but of course that’s just an assumption based on his demeanor. The classic thing about being autistic is precisely that no one has a clue what’s happening inside, emotions or whatever. He’s so deadpan about everything ever.
I think the reason he keeps his bangs that way is a sensory thing tbh. Or, I wouldn’t be surprised if he was actively trying to hide his face, his eyes that he can never get to emote right. Maybe he doesn’t like being looked at, or noticed. Maybe it ties in with his devil contract, ink clouds are for hiding + to blind, after all. Ooh maybe something about that is his contract cost- That’d be epic.
His smile is a constant rather than a way to communicate something. Masking. It’s always just plastered on along with his shallow pleasant countenance, it feels almost like a survival tactic, or his state of being. He’s almost beastly sometimes, in part 1 mostly. Like idk how to explain it but the autistic experience of “Masking & emoting for social interactions is my token of survival even if I feel like an animal backed into a corner” is raw and real & f yeah. This bit may seem out of left-field, but yeah if Hirofumi has some internal turmoil I feel like that sort of shit is how he’d go
He has this almost obsession with being casual & appearing friendly, despite how misplaced it can be for the situation. Which does tie in with the smile thing. But yeah just in this pleasant demeanor we’ve discussed, he really does stand out with just how friendly and casual he always is
He’s so tonedeaf. The page below is just after it’s revealed to them that some assassins are after the guy he’s protecting (Denji) and that they can shapeshift. He’s smiling even as he’s saying that they’re in deep, deep shit. This page doesn’t show it well on its own, but he’s the first to recover his composure, esp with Denji half-dead. Beyond Power being Power, everyone is like 😨 Yoshida stands out with his reaction, which goes straight to the point and assess their situation logically all while smiling, but more on that later.
He’s constantly saying grave stuff while being pretty lighthearted. His nonchalant attitude would be comedic if this wasn’t an horror & tragedy manga lol. He just admitted that he’s ready to die & expects it and what, just like that, one sentence and cool let’s get onto the next topic. It is interesting how he acted during the aquarium arc crisis tbh. He truly has no desire to connect with other people, even in this conversation with Denji he’s talking business all through it, rather than anything else. He doesn’t approach or interact with the others, doesn’t give his input on the situation when the group is brainstorming. He just stays in his corner and observes from afar.
Logic-oriented, coldness and laser focus
His rigidly logical nature is actually somewhat of a flaw for him. His rationale makes him make mistakes, such as assuming a pro would never puke. It’s also why he attempts to use reason and logic with Denji so much, which becomes quickly apparent that it doesn’t work with him. This attitude/way of looking at things backfires on him regularly, as mentioned. This is what I mean by laser focus, mostly, because he has a hard time looking beyond a narrow field of possibilities and causal links, like we already discussed. Once it leaves that field he becomes blind to it, he’s so laser focused that not only does he not consider any possibility beyond what his logic tells him, but if something presents itself that doesn’t align with his logic he’ll promptly dismiss it, in a very erratic way.
He’s obviously very very dedicated to his job. He has for sure trained to have his martial arts skills, and he spends pretty much all his time in part 2 looking over Denji. Being part of the background is part of his job, and he has 0 friends. And he’s fine with it. He’s SO good at hiding his emotions and thoughts, because he keeps the same face 90% of the time.
Money is his motivation, we know this. As much as we can know something about him right now, anyways. I wouldn’t be surprised if he does have some ideological devotion for his job’s mission, but he talks about is as his job first of all, and, yeah, money.
I think there’s also something you can say about how it feels like he’s always one step ahead or playing a higher game when holding conversations with people. Which, I think it’s also important to not that that’s only a feeling, and that doesn’t mean that that’s what he’s doing, or rather, intending. Usually, what he says is only ever to inform or figure out something. Anyways- The only time I feel like this is less true, that he’s constantly blatantly playing games in his conversations, is with the convo above with Kishibe. They’re both super honest and blunt, laying all their cards on the table and speaking with a similar demeanor of cold nonchalance. He speaks matter-of-factly, objectively, without empathy, no matter the topic. No matter the topic. Ever. He calculates risks and rewards constantly and only reveals he’s made those maths when he feels like it (Like with the phone he had in the aquarium arc). Anyways, My point here is just that autistic kids tend to get along better with older people than other kids, the classic “oh you’re so mature for your age”, and I feel like that’s reflected well here. The reason of why that is is pretty simple, autistic kids tend to communicate in ways that are different to other kids and which can weird them out, while adults are more used to different kinds of people and more blunt or wordy conversations. It’s Kishibe’s logical outlook and assessment of situations that allow him to keep up with what Hirofumi’s saying instead of being weirded out here, and they have a good & productive conversation as equals because of it.
I do think that’s a big part of the appeal of yoshiden, because Denji disregards social conventions and common sense so much that even Yoshida gets stumped sometimes, and it makes him feel more like a highschooler, makes him lose control of the situation and even his face for a bit. It’s healthy for him. And it’s fun on top of humanizing this otherwise cryptic character.
As we’ve seen, surprise is the only emotion he emotes other than his smile (neutrality not included). That’s actually a pretty huge thing!! It does confirm on some level that his smile is a constant that he has to put on, since surprise is the only thing that breaks it and makes him emote more genuinely. Look I made a collage lol. These are 100% of the times where he’s not either smiling or having a neutral face. Like… A dozen panels. I think there’s something to say about surprise being the one emotion he emotes and how he can be rather impulsive, too.
He’s very methodical, the way he interacts with people. With Denji especially, we could see him in real time trying to get a read on Denji. He eventually does, learning to provide what Denji wants so he’ll listen to him more.

Misc
At last, the most compelling argument /j: HE SITS FUCKIN’ WEIRD!! In the pic below part of it is that they have to be ready to stand up at any moment to fight, but! He also always crosses his legs when sitting, and I think that’s a lovely detail Fujimoto, and also yeah same. Ofc leg-crossing isn’t exclusive to neurodivergent people, but ways people sit can be surprisingly affected by stuff like being understimulated. I always sit cross-legged, I cannot sit normally without some other way to tuck my legs if I don’t have them crossed, or my brain goes blank. I am not kidding.
ANYWAYS HE SITS FUCKIN WEIRD!! Doing the big lean, look at him go
Also he holds phones like L Lawliet which is really all the evidence you need lol
In conclusion
Have you *seen* the way he just sits and tries to psychanalyze Denji, asking him why he does the things he does? Have you seen a more autistic bitch ever? He oozes the autism in every little thing he does. Honestly I’m surprised there aren’t more people saying the same thing when it’s so blatant. Once you get to a certain threshold of masking and avoiding attention people don’t suspect a thing. I was diagnosed at 18 and my mom at 50, so yeah, relatable lol. I love him so much
Part 1 Yoshida is a lil fella on the job being weird but trying his best and minding his business. Part 2 Yoshida is a deadpan but fake smile master who autistically struggle to connect with people in a way that allows him to do his job well. He’s creepy and uncanny af without meaning to.
My autism is the direct reason that attracts me to him, rather than aesthetics or anything else, if that makes sense. (I’m not saying that any reason is superior, just that since my autism is what draws me to him as a character it is an argument for him being autistic coded, in that way). I humanize him a lot, and he humanizes me in turn.
