how do you think butch f1 driver!max’s journey to figuring out his gender identity went like?

my thoughts are sort of jumbled up so apologies for that

well she's always been a tomboy and never really cared for the whole girly things so she's been on this road since birth basically. i think jos didn't try to push her towards anything feminine either, because in his eyes (and in max's for a bit sadly) femininity meant being weak. but! he tried to steer her away from the gay masculinity basically. yes, she was allowed to have shorter hair and to dress like a boy, but he still wanted her to be a girl, not a lesbian. so bc of that, max had to work through not only internalised misogyny but also internalised lesbophobia

growing up her chest got bigger (I think she has a very complicated relationship with it) and, subsequently, she started getting sexualised a lot. not only because of her chest but bc she was a girl and well, that usually comes with the role. so she started to bind (unsafely, ofc) to take attention away from what she thought to be the biggest issue. she was convinced that if she didn't have tits anymore men would no longer look at her like that (spoiler, it didn't work). but over time she realised that she does feel more comfortable with a flatter chest, which did send her spiraling for a bit because she can't get rid of them, that's not allowed for a girl (in my notes she gets a top reduction surgery later on, after she worked through everything)

to avoid being sexualised and seen as a girl, she also adopted a more violent persona. she took less care of her appearance, wore baggy clothes, refused to put on make up of any kind. she was aggressive to prove herself and her worth, she started biting (metaphorically) to prove she should be in the sport

now, that's how she presents herself to the world, aggressive max, who looks like a man and who doesn't care when people talk shit about her and call her a he-she and who throws away her femininity at the first chance she gets. but in her private life she is trying so hard to understand herself. she's not a man, she knows this, she doesn't want to be one. she doesn't want to be with a man either, she knows that much too. but she is so confused about how she should feel, about the emotions going on inside of her when she is near girls who aren't afraid to be girls

and ofc, charles enters the sport and they're the complete opposites and max absolutely hates that she can still be feminine and take part in this sport. this adds even more feelings to deal with for her and she spends a lot of their first years together in the sport bad mouthing charles and being a dick and hating herself and charles both

ok and heres where the ooc bit comes in: I think max would come across stone butch blues and read it out of curiosity. and things sort of just click

I mean it's still not fully resolved, and it takes her a long time to accept that she's a butch, but she's starting to crack. another ooc thing is that she's getting therapy (crazy ik), so she brings this to her therapist and they start working through it together. it's her therapist who makes her realise that she doesn't care about pronouns that much, but she still can't really be vocal about it so for a while it's something he keeps to himself. they start referring to themselves with different pronouns in their mind and it feels good. it feels right

he still dresses the same, she still acts the same, but things are starting to feel good. she reclaims the he-she's thrown at her, does it with a smile even

and in this whole thing, charles is also figuring shit out as a femme lesbian who thought she was straight until a while ago

ofc, they don't tell each other they're dykes, but their relationship changes. they're also growing older and maturing, and they realise that they should stick together in the sport. no one else will have their back anyway, may as well help each other out

it's relatively easy to fall into a butchfemme dynamic for them. it feels natural. and max feels comfortable enough to share with charles that pronouns aren't his thing necessarily and charles has no problem switching back and forth. having someone else acknowledge that also helps max work through their identity, because they no longer have to perform one that's accepted by the masses. it's just max now, who is a butch and proud of it

the public isn't as accepting, obvs, but she reaches a point where she doesn't care about it anymore. she's max and he knows what that means for him

What does Rusty think about Pater, Hawkins and their lurid office romance? I mean, aside from probably hating them for being corpos of course. Pater's impression of Rusty was one of the more humorous bits from the game so I wonder if Rusty was aware of him doing it... Ditto for O'keeffe too, one of Pater's lines says that O'keeffe looked out for him and he gets upset if you kill O'keeffe so they must've at least had a positive working relationship.

CLAPS HANDS TOGETHER im going to ramble about Pater and Vesper dynamics now LETS GO

I hc that Pater likely joined just under a year before they were sent to Rubicon, and most of that year was spent with him being used as a glorified dogsbody. He was a Gen Ten, the most ~advanced~ augmentations, and likely was put on the Vespers as a demonstration of their technological prowess or whatever. Pater was a young, ambitious corporate ladder climber too, so he was very skilled at brown nosing and putting forth the correct persona depending on who he was talking to.

Just one problem: the Vespers are full of freaks.

Freud refused to acknowledge his existence beyond what was mandatory (tho he's like that for anyone who isn't a) his direct chain of command, b) snail or c) a good opponent), Snail privately resented him for his advanced augmentations and was low key trying to figure out what their benefits were so he could steal them for himself somehow, Maeterlinck was very neutral towards him bc she's actually the only sane person in this goddamn group and is just here to collect a paycheck and a good retirement package, and Swinburne saw him as competition that was going to snatch his Vesper number from him or leapfrog over him to the next number just like Rusty did.

So, his reception wasn't exactly the warmest. O'Keeffe wasn't warm towards him either, but O'Keeffe doesn't play promotion politics (he's already set for life and enjoys various perks the other Vespers don't) and he treats Pater as any other subordinate. O'Keeffe's a bit odd, but he's forthright and fair, and Pater appreciated that, esp as O'Keeffe gave him some helpful pointers on how to navigate life in the Vespers.

Rusty was a little more enigmatic, and Pater honestly could never get a good read on him. Superficially, Rusty was very friendly and always willing to chat whenever Pater crossed paths with him, but Pater could tell that Rusty's smiles were very practiced and artificial, and that there was very little true warmth in his eyes.

Actually, Pater genuinely thought Rusty was like him: just a better actor. Pater admired Rusty for his effective masking skills and studied him closely to better his own masking and friendly persona. Like, Pater was good, but he knew that sometimes he could be a little off-putting bc he either didn't strike the right tone of his smile wasn't quite right, but Rusty was very charismatic and charming and such a good liar, so Pater definitely jotted down a lot of mental notes and tried to emulate him.

(Rusty had no idea about this but he definitely would've been peturbed to know that Pater admired him for being such an amazing liar dfhdfhdf actually i want to write a Pater pov drabble about Rusty being a liar now-)

NOW ONTO HAWKINS.

Hawkins is a little like Maeterlinck where he's actually kind of normal, but, there is a but here: his augmentation time wasn't as easy or clearcut as the others'. He came on the heels of the rather fatal and dangerous Gen Five and Gen Six experiments, and it rests heavy on him that his Gen Seven augments were safe only because of how many lives were lost before him. So, he looks at Pater and sees a young lad totally oblivious (lol no) to the highway of bones he walked on to get to where he is, and wants to guide and look out for him.

Which turned out easy enough since Pater was delegated to help Hawkins out a lot with his logistical issues. Pater, thrust into a group where majority of them saw him as either a hindrance or competition, basically huddled under Hawkins' protective shadow bc Pater's a survivor and a ladder climber and he knows to stick to his useful assets and allies like glue.

Hawkins developed feelings for Pater, and yes there was the telenovela drama of oh no, i can't, he's my junior!!! but eventually Hawkins came clean and Pater calculated.

He does hold genuine feelings of affection for Hawkins, but he also ran all the calculations on what this relationship would bring him, how useful it'd be, its pros, its cons, and after weighing all that was like yeah it'll give me more than i'll lose so let's go for it!

Pater, I feel... DUAL NATURE and his emblem make me feel that Pater is well aware of the life he leads, where he has to don a mask to get to where he is and further. i don't think it's meant to represent like, a split personality or anything like that, but more like a representation of what the cutthroat, capitalistic society has forced him to be.

You don't promote being honest and earnest and trusting - you just get stabbed in the back. You have to get close to those who can do things for you, enter into deals of "you scratch my back and I'll scratch yours" to create a web of favours and obligations and "put in a good word for me!" or "oh he's such a nice guy, let's do this for him". You have to be good at donning the right mask, the right persona, at watching someone you have affections for be cut down and in real time make the very conscious and sharp adjustment of "oh my god no" to "ok ok you have to think what this'll give you you have to think about how you can use this" bc Hawkins being dead means he's lost more than just the emotional support, he's lost the material, the physical, he has to focus on "how can i turn this into a win?"

That turned way more rambly than I thought shhsadfd but Pater fascinates me because he really is a product of the kind of corporate society in armored core 6. There's no honestly, no earnestness, no true self. Just masks upon masks, ruthless social calculations, and stuffing down any true feelings because the only real comfort you get in this world is success and winning.

if you have the time, would LOVE to hear what your thoughts on a potential claire/ada dynamic would be. the closest thing we have is the non canonical darkside chronicles retelling where leon is like “okay ma’am whatever you say” while claire is like “she’s clearly shady as hell are you out of your fucking mind?”

like that’s kinda fun, ada knowing leon is the easy one to trick and therefore focusing on convincing HIM and just not rlly trying with claire, probably bc she thinks claire is too smart to fall for that. my interpretation of it anyway

So first let me say I don't care for how a majority of cl.aida is portrayed because they water both of these women down to where theyre all soft and sweet with each other and it ends up being fanon a.eon but with 2 women and i HATE that.

i see claire as a very kind, and caring woman, and this is something canon stresses constantly, HOWEVER i also see claire as a woman with quite a bit of grit to her. this is a woman who was orphaned and only had her brother to take care of her, a woman who survived the horrors of raccoon city and also managed to save a young girl in the process. she may be kind, but she won't take anyone's shit, and she can be very blunt and isn't afraid to call someone out.

so my ideal version of cl.aida, or at least the version i see that could happen between my (correct) interpretations of the characters, is one where theyre working together or at least in the same vicinity lol and it's not hard to get ada and claire working on the same mission, as ada is a spy and might spy on claire for information on terrasave, her brother chris, or the tphobos virus which claire carries. ...or claire and ada could cross paths during an outbreak lol. either way, these 2 interacting with one another isn't so far out of left field.

regardless of what brings them together, ada would latch herself to claire (under a moniker other than Ada WongTM because EYE want to see that) in hopes of finding some kind of Infortmation, and claire would notice that ada is waaaaay more capable than any normal civilian should be and claire would corner her and demand she tell her who she is, and ada wouldn't of course, but that's okay because claire has connections too, and adas face is known in the bsaa and from there she'd put 2 and 2 together.

after finding out ada is a spy, claire would be less inclined to fall for any persona ada puts up, whether it be flirtatious or intimidating, or anything else, instead ignoring adas performance and paying focusing only on things ada says pertaining the mission at hand. ada is naturally very charming and i think claire can see herself getting along with ada, but she's not going to let herself get caught up in adas web. they do the job or survive the outbreak or whatever and well... they've both got quite a bit of pent up energy and a lot of tension that needs to be released. and frankly? the way their relationship deepens starts with a mutually agreed upon one night stand, both trying to release some energy without any risk of the other person catching feelings. after a while they decide to do it again, and this becomes a constant thing, and still neither one has feelings but they get closer slowly. at glacial speeds. (here is where im skipping a lot of specifics because even though i wrote this huge blurb i havent really thought about how theyd work together, so maturally there are character specific moments im missing from both of them) i see them building a pretty rock solid trust in each other (at least as rock solid as you could get with ada lol) and from there ada would feel more comfortable showing claire her true self but only for short periods of time, I'm talking an hour at most.

now i need to be clear, i think there are times when adas job bumps up against claires morals, and that's when claire just can't stand ada, but i think claire grits her teeth and tells herself it's okay as long as whatever ada does helps the greater good. i do think this is something that causes friction between them and leads to arguments.

from here i see their relationship breaking the mold of what is "supposed" to be a normal monogamous couple. ada would come around in between jobs and they'd be together enjoying each other's company for as long as possible until ada leaves for her next job, and I believe ada is the one to leave first as there is nothing she does normal, especially not relationships. and believe it or not, i think claire is aware of this, and she accepts it... for a time. i think the older she gets the more she wants a more stable partner, and i think eventually she'd call it off with no hard feelings and ada would be sad for a time, but ultimately happy she wasn't forced into a box she wouldn't fit in.

and thats all if they have a relationship when theyre both 30 or older. now if they were to get together in their younger years then everything would be the same except instead of a one night stand they have a 2 month long crazy lesbian situationship and then claire has a moment of clarity and is like, "if we keep going like this we're gonna hate each other forever, so maybe we just stop now" and ada thinks about it for a second and then is like you know what. You're right. And then they cut the relationship off but they're still cool and they trade information with each other and yes. They do still fuck sometimes. :)

ultimately I think claire would want more stability than ada would be willing to give, so no matter what their relationship wouldn't last forever.

Hi👋 while im reading through everything again I have some general questions about your writing (which I love!). I’ve never wrote anything before and I’m in awe of people who can.

Here’s my first couple ( I have a lot 😅)

How did you come up with the story? Has the story changed much from your initial ideas to the chapters you’ve posted so far?

The story idea came just from listening to some T-Swift vault songs on repeat in the midst of churning through a bunch of other fanfics and just listening to "Is It Over Now?" gave me the idea of a story about toxic sassy Clexa exes who just can't quite quit each other.

I was deeeeep into my canon fic, "Hold Me Down", and just wanted a fun break/escape from the realistic-Clexa that I was trying to keep as close to show-version of Lexa as possible. “Hold Me Down” felt very heavy and like I carried some unspoken obligation to ‘do right’ by this universe that had SO MUCH POTENTIAL…and I genuinely wrote that canon fic as my own personal outlet to fix that god-awful show with a much more interesting plot that focused WAY MORE on the grounder's and their dynamic and conflicts that would have arisen from Clexa's relationship.... and much less on the skyrats (also we deserved ONE REAL showdown btwn Lexa and Skaikru and I am very proud and happy of how I wrote that stand-off at the blockade outside Arkadia).

but back to your second question..... OH BOY has the story changed a lot since the initial concept haha .... mainly in DEPTH bc my initial idea was just me wanting a chance to write hella gratuitous *spice* with some LOOSE plot to string it all together.

Originally it was meant to be quick, (short), and basically just these two running into each other all over LA bc of their shared friend group and just having SO MUCH secret hooking up while still playfully hating each other with nonstop banter and bickering and blaming each other for why they weren't still actually together.

As the writing went on, I just could not help myself adding deeper emotions and significance (sorry ima Pisces but also I had way too many taylor swift songs to play off of with my loose outline) and it REALLY spiraled from there lol, I think because (to me) it's so natural for every version of Lexa to be so much of a strong facade she puts on for the rest of the world, but underneath she's just a little puddle of feelings. So I enjoyed (perhaps too much) running with Lexa's celebrity persona and then exploring all those deeper themes of "public" self vs real self, social media curation, and the damage of assumptions and mis-communication (or hell ZERO communication in this case). Also bc of the way the story shifted, if they HAD been constantly hooking up nonstop much earlier it didn’t make nearly as much sense how they would have stayed apart long enough to get to my later plot points.

Examples of how some things changed:

#1- Costia's character was originally meant to be a shallow, vapid wanna-be influencer who was NOT malicious in any way...but still was def just in-it for the exposure and maybe did care about Lexa innocently but just not on such a deep genuine sense. She was originally meant to be a very easy low-maintenance booty call who was always down for the late-night "you up?" text bc she enjoyed showing off her close affiliation to the actress and playing it up as more than it really was.

^^You maybe get that sense from those early chapters....but as the story went on esp after the rough Game-night chapter, and I (not-so-accidentally) made things much deeper and more harsh for Lexa, I needed at least ONE PERSON in the story to actually see her pain and care about her beyond her celebrity status, and that person just had to be Costia imo. What Clarke did/does to Lexa, even if it's just a fanfic.... I would not allow Clarke to be the one who breaks her but also gets to be the one to put her back together. Lexa needed to have a REAL attachment with someone else to make it significant that she just still can’t let go of her love for Clarke despite how awful Clarke was/is to her.

Costia becomes the embodiment of "you can be perfect, but still not perfect FOR ME..." An example in how to try and support someone, to LOVE someone who is at war with themself and trying to heal (and for those knowing what was happening in my real life while writing this whole story that probably makes a lot more sense.) I'm so defensive of Costia because I unknowingly was writing her for myself. Bc I related too much to what Lexa was going through with her view of herself and fucked up relationship with intimacy, where I needed a Costia in my life. Examples: what costia tells her when she makes the IG post after game night in “Mine(Costia’s version)….. how Costia responds when they are falling asleep at the end of “New Romantics”…. And how she treats Lexa after the vegas trip in “I can fix her” ch….

….so yea she's more protected than CLEXA in this story probably lol those two are toxic as hellllllllll but we still love them anyways as they figure their shit out).

#2 -Raven was NEVER meant to become the sort of villain she is right now? That was def a complete accident as the story got deeper. Though honestly the story isn't meant to have any one real villain? I wanted all the characters to be flawed, and noone in this story is innocent or blameless(except costia🤍).

I liked everyone having faults, and written where you SHOULD be able to "see" their perspective and why each character in this story is motivated to act the way they do (except Clarke, she's the biggest idiot here, she and I have BEEF). Wanting this to feel like it had more weight to it, I did NOT want it to pretty much be the whole friend group WANTING them back together because then what would really be keeping CLEXA apart? The friend group, and their opinions, had to be yet another obstacle (not just public scrutiny/fans opinions) for these two to overcome. Feels very natural that Clarke's best friend would "choose sides" thinking it was Lexa who wronged her bff....so we see Raven taking on that brazenly aggressive stance, not afraid to push buttons and antagonize bc that's def who she is....versus Octavia who is still on Clarke's 'side', but much more passively and only bc (right now) she thinks its what Clarke wants.

We will definitely see some shifts in the friends as more unfolds. We've already seen Murphy's impact once he was brought into things.... and Anya can read her best friend like a BOOK and called her out on the rekindled fling... but from a much more cautious and semi-judgmental way. How do we think Octavia or Lincoln would act if they also found out what these two are doing over the summer?

#3 - There was def supposed to be a bit of a Bellarke arc.... nothing major... just exploring a little bit more of Bellamy's unrequitted feelings. Seen in Ch 2 when Clarke texts three ppl after leaving the restaurant... Bellamy was only ever going to be that 'big brother' type of comfort friend where at most when they'd hang out for some venting/deep convos maybe she'd lean against him on the couch to watch a movie.... or little things that always kept them in some quasi-limbo giving Bel hope 'maybe one day'.... which was scrapped bc Luna's character just made more sense to keep as an ongoing presence to serve as a REAL threat... with both halves of CLEXA having a perfectly healthy option avail to them in Costia/Luna...

...but in initial outlines the two of them were gonna get closer as Lexa makes plenty of a mess with all her shenanigans, with Clarke wanting some company besides Raven's intense energy all the time, and Octavia was even going to support it, softly encouraging Clarke to maybe not overlook people who care about her and have always been around where she wasn't even looking.

The Bellamy side-arc was leading up to an IG post from Octavia that she was going to post, a cute *INNOCENT* pic of Clarke and Bellamy with the (T-Swift) caption "Maybe what you've been looking for has been here the whole time" and while nothing was ever ACTUALLY happening romantically between them, seeing it sends Lexa off on another destructive spiral. (Clarke, lost in her own emotions seeing Lexa’s retaliation antics does try to see Bellamy thru that lens, they were going to have ONE KISS before she realizes no this was never gona be anything and re-friendzones him again as a brother-like figure to her)

how have your opinions on the p:eg cast changed from the prologue to chapter 1? has any of your predictions changed? Also on your bingo sheet what does the orange mean?

Orange means I was half correct or only half applicable. Sorry I didn't explain it!

I have a terrible and garbage and no-good memory (very long and boring story), so I kinda don't remember my original thoughts on the cast besides what I had written down here or in my personal chats. So I'll write what I remember below.

Most of my opinions haven't changed that much if I recall correctly???? Except maybe being a little disappointed that Wolfgang didn't become the rival like I was expecting, and Toshiko actually seeming more innocuous than I was giving her credit for - I am very traumatized and annoyed with the monaca twist - in the prologue. I think I hate Cassidy a bit less than how I did before? She's not as obnoxious here at least, and she actually gets stuff to do and less time to be oddly hostile despite the fact she’s also treated like a joke-y character (<- this would be fine if they are setting this as a character trait and a fault of character, it's kinda too early to say, but I am still kinda annoyed about it regardless since we as of now lack the context to do much else).

Regarding my predictions, I suppose not much about them has changed except - obviously - my thoughts regarding how they would handle Wolfgang. And maybe Kai. It is very likely the writers can still pull off “Damon has to bring down the social butterfly manipulating the emotions of the group”, plus the fact that they are in fact establishing an importance to Kai and Damon as friends and partner in investigation and crap. It’d probably be funny considering Kaimon and the doomed by the narrative trope or whatever.

Ah, also maaaybeeeee Diana doesn't kill (to be honest I just kinda predicted she did bcs I wanted to see her use her talent)? I hope so. I am kinda bummed because her talent is really cool for a murder plan, and I feel what they did with her in ch1 is super bare-bones and kinda boring and only done for the sake of actually giving her something to do with her talent, but as it stands it would be kinda counterproductive for the narrative to make her kill? Or at least I hope she doesn’t. It’d be too easy a route to go after setting her up as the rival and antithesis of Damon’s persona and ideology, even if it'd be new to have a rival actually become a blackened (Nagito and Kokichi are, by technicality, not counted. I mean an-honest-to-god, didn't scheme or manipulate someone else, blackened killer)

Oh, just remembered! Also, I was wrong about the Maitsu parents (which I was half expecting because I was acutely aware of how much self indulgence and projection I was putting into my thoughts of them), which I recall I made a post about, so I guess in that regard my opinion of Damon has also changed. He's still pookie tho. And he still needs to get kicked in the shins. Lovingly. But kicked in the shins anyway. I do kinda wish they did give us more information about them and I am BEGGING next chapter's motive to actually regard them in some way. PLEASEEEE.

responding to that last ask, i do notice that folks who take P5, and really all the games, a lot less seriously tend to not be bothered by the slapstick humor, even with the emphasis on topics such as physical abuse and societal corruption, so that could be a part of it, especially after seeing the same anime tropes coming up so often and seeing them played more or less the same (that's not meant to be a jab that's just kinda what persona games are) just something i notice since it's typically the most hardcore fans that get the most upset i realize

In all honesty, yeah I've noticed people that take a super casual approach don't really notice issues like more hardcore fans do.

P3/4 have the chibi models to disconnect from reality (as well as more obvious chatter effects and such...imo than P5), and P1/2 sprites even more so. P5 isn't exactly super realistic, but more so than prev games, plus it has the balls to actually criticize the physical/sexual/mental abuse of society.....only to use it as comedy later.

Yeah Persona is pretty anime, and that's fine (I mean I grew up on the Three Stooges so like.....I can go as far as live action slap stick too). It all comes down to framing for me.

Does it do a good job indicating it's slapstick (easier the more cartoonish you get, which is easy for cartoons and anime) ex:

2. (not really a deal breaker in a COMEDY, but if comedy's not the main genre it can be) Is it even? Like does one char always slap stick another, or does the recipient get to slap stick back? Or is it a free for all? (ex: like Angel Beats, Asobi Asobase, and MPGIS is a free for all, Yui/Hinata, Ichigo/Rukia and Ichiko/Momiji like to slap stick each other and are even, but I don't like Sakura punching Naruto bc sometimes he doesn't even deserve it and she's not exactly a great char herself TT0TT it gets tiring having it be so one sided...most of these barring Bleach and Naruto are comedies or a dramady like Angel Bleach are so.....yeah TT0TT Kinda skewed but still)

3. (this is def a big problem I have with P5, but I'm sure it's not the only one with this issue) Cake and eating it problem/tonal dissonance: They medium has a message that would....make slap stick unfortunate. Like it's a really hard line and you'll have to really land the dark comedy. Angel Beats can thread this very well.....P5 doesn't. Tbf AB is part comedy, it can be a dark comedy (I mean it's gonna have to be when it's a coming of age story about dead children). P5.....doesn't spend a lot of time on humor (which isn't bad in theory), but when it DOES it's........unfortunate. It just doesn't mesh well.

Maybe if it leaned MORE into the anime it would've lessened the blow. Wait no scratch that, I know what happens when you do that. You get P4 anime. orz

But there's one scene that I KNOW people hated, cause they hated it when it airs, and NO ONE talks about it. It's the Kanji dungeon segment/episode. When you try to go full anime slap stick you get tonal whiplash instead (which is P4 anime's problem, esp with the new original humor and putting in humor where it was a more serious moment). So I'm afraid that also would happen to P5 if they went that route.....orz

Examining How I Use The Internet

Prompted by this page I’ve realised I’m doing a lot of mindless scrolling and procrastinating a lot with the internet. Time to fix that. Mari Kondo’ing this shit.

Reddit: I mindlessly scroll and always gravitate to drama subs like AITA, which just depresses the life out of me and drags me into negativity. 

Solution: Block the bad subreddits with stayfree and use it to put a limit on how much time I spend on there, so I can still access useful and informative subreddits but not doomscroll. Stayfree did heehaw but I found a simple extension that blocked the subreddits and then used Ublock to hide popular posts so basically it’s just my specific feed now. Win!

Tumblr: I also mindlessly scroll here, albeit less. Sometimes on instinct I feel the need to put on a persona or post certain things or overly clarify things to appease spectators I’ve crafted in my head or feel a need to perform. Makes using this site stressful.

Solution: Remind myself this tumblr is my digital journal and while I’m open to making friends this is not something I’m doing to get clout. I am here to collect, learn and explore. 

Twitter: I rarely go on it anymore, and I just don’t like it. The only things that were on it that I liked were cute and cozy aesthetic accounts, but even then nah.

Solution: Delete it. Twitter gone woo crab rave

Discord: I use it the most to talk directly to irl and online friends, have a bookclub and get updates on random stuff. Sometimes it feels like a void.

Solution: ?? Need it to talk to friends. Just meditate or smth. Like tumblr, don’t feel the need to perfom or put on a persona. Vibe only.

Youtube: Also started procrastinating by going on there with the intention to watch this One Specific video and then I’m on the 4th Im Skylar White Yo lego video. 

Solution: See if there’s something that can block the yt homepage and just see subscriptions or smth. ABSOLUTE UBLOCK W HOW IS THIS SO EASY AND I NEVER KNEW?!

Emails: I’m scared to even touch my gmails bc of the amount of spam mail I’ve accumulated since I was 8.

Solution: Buckle up and start unsubscribing to junk mail and clearing them out THEN switch from gmail to literally anything. Done techgirl email

Internet In General: I think I use a decent not centralized browser. I use yt adblock like a champ. But I really need to go over security notes, find a vpn, make sure this browser is cool, download that torrent browser thing sometime. 

Solution: Find vpn, get torrent browser thing, use throw away emails or card info.

I also generally feel like I have to put on a performance. Is this down to that one time I was a microceleb in this one niche shitty instagram community? Maybe. Theres a voice at the back of my head like “Will this get notes? Will people laugh at this? Does this fit? Will this slightly put someone off?” and its exhausting because I’m not here to get clout I’m just wanting to chill!! I do however want to make friends and meet like-minded folks, don’t wanna create an echo chamber for myself. Hm...

Solution: Recognise this behaviour, the thoughts. Listen to them, deconstruct them, let them pass. Do this constantly. Do not engage them or let them influence you. (realising this sounds like some spc lmao)

I sometimes skip posts with hardly any upvotes or notes because unconciously Im only paying attention to bigger posts. This means I miss out on tons.

Solution: Use good ol ublock to hide note and upvote elements.

Spotify: Love music. Like the spotify wrapped thing. Hate spotify, it is evil company. I don’t even pay for it thanks to my bestie. But...

Solution: Compile music elsewhere (where ?)

Instagram: I’m not actually active on it, I just still have it bc it has tons of cool anime edits I’ve saved over the years. But I hate zuckergram.

Solution: Export the sick edits and delete zuckergram. I will do this on my phone.

Compared to a year ago I’m much more aware of how I’m using the internet. My phone usage is down to nilch, it’s almost like I never spent 16 hours a day on instagram straight as a kid.

Having a path still ahead to walk down doesn’t negate the mountain I climbed before.

The sites I use most are Reddit, YT, Tumblr, Discord. Thats four I’ve whittled it down to, which is actually an ok number, not too bad. One for solitary reading, one for spooks and funny videos, one for semi solitary blogging, one for communication.

2. Who’s your least favorite to write?

hm. joseph’s voice is annoying. sorry to this man love him and all but. get different speech patterns. “mine is the face of truth!” who talks like that i’m going to kill you. i can write him in “on” public persona mode well enough but... things like last wildfire chapter when i had to make him a source of factual info dump? pain suffering. jacob is also not that personally easy/fun to write for me compared to others but i don’t have the same sense of “am i doing this wrong???” as i do with joseph so it’s less stressful.

4. Which character(s) do you love to hate?

i would say john but that also kinda feels like cheating tbh? i feel like all john writers hate john at least a little. nature of john. i love to hate him in the sense of he’s annoying and i enjoy making him suffer. joseph is also fun to put through it although it’s usually more in backdrop. still. funny when he suffers.

5. What’s the easiest thing to write for you?

also john. nature of john writing. i’m pissed off and annoyed the entire time but his pov feels second nature to me at this point so. what can you do

in terms of genre, definitely comedy. there at least has to be some undertone of humor in most of what i write. also dialogue. especially johnjess dialogue. shrek voice it’s getting them to shut up that’s the trick

6. What’s the hardest thing to write for you?

probably like. genuine fluff? like i can do sweet moments but it always has to be in spite of something. also scenery descriptions are still a bitch to me after all these years. OH and action. i fucking hate writing action scenes.

7. Do you plan everything out before you write or do you sit down and go with the flow?

i’ve only very recently started forcing myself to properly outline as wildfire has gotten unwieldy and i’ve begun reaching crucial enough no turning back plot points that it genuinely would be like “oh fuck!! house of cards collapses!” if i forget something. even then i have like. the next three chapters outlined and it’s in notes app and it looks like this (example from last chapter, it was this to draft one with no inbetween steps):

in general i do plan a lot out though sort of. combing things over in my head even if i don’t write it down. and i have most major plot points of wildfire decided already. like i have a very clear image and language in my mind for the Final Scene. we’ll see if i get there. for oneshots i tend to just vibe because they’re more about having a little fun and flexing the muscles for me anyways.

12. What is one character you love but rarely/never write? 

i guess not rarely/never but i don’t write faith nearly as much as i want to. i mean, tbh i guess i write faith more than fandom average lmao and she was like. the first character i ever wrote when i joined the fandom. but still not as much as i want bc a lot of it stays in drafts or is eclipsed by. you know.

i wish i’d gotten to write jess black more, i can’t believe ive only done one scene she’s probably my second favorite gfh.

13. Is there one character that always fights you when you try writing them?

JESTINY. the most i ever sympathize with john is when i want to get her to do something very simple and she explains to me the convoluted thirty five step intricate ritual it will take to get her to do it and i want to pull my hair out. like girl. sit on the fucking hay bale already.

15. What two characters did you never expect to work together?

well, in the sense that they don’t... mary may and jestiny. like they were always supposed to have most of the beef they have in wildfire (particularly in that mary may was always supposed to be a representation of jessie’s genuine breakdown in ability to empathize with Nice, Normal Folks) but i guess i didn’t expect their frenemiship to be as popular as it is or have as much chemistry to it? chemistry in the sense of lack of chemistry. but they have a compelling dynamic i didn’t fully expect. the real slowburn is when mary may finally gets to punch jessie in the face so hard.

to the last anon, remember that self esteem, confidence and ego are all different things that, although overlapping, manifest differently. i hate being the type of fan that tries to psychoanalyse an artist bc the artists always show us only a very small part of who they are and what their feelings are, it’s easy to get carried away and think we know them butttttt. we really don’t.

that said, i do think awsten has very high ego, high enough confidence but pretty low self esteem. i define each as

ego: your arrogance, how much attention you think others should pay to you. awsten: he has a huge ego, he loooveeeessss the attention. he doesn’t stop to wonder whether he deserves it according to what he does (according to the music he puts out)

confidence: how comfortable you are being your true self in front of people. awsten: i don’t think that putting up a front for the media means he’s not as confident, he’s confident in the persona he’s created and that’s okay, its most likely be to protect himself and that’s honestly a very smart thing to do. and this persona tends to be obnoxious and cringey, but the fact that he doesn’t back down on it shows confidence in it, which is subsequently confidence in himself and his ability to put up that front. he knows himself smart enough to have created that persona, however apart or not it is from his very much genuine self.

self esteem: a much much much more personal, hard to see and deeper thing. how much a person truly values themselves, both knowingly and feeling-wise. awsten: i don’t think his self esteem is that low, in the sense that i don’t think he thinks “i’m not worth shit”, i think he knows he is worth something, but he doesn’t necessarily feel like that always. and it’s usually easier for him to let himself be carried by his ego/arrogance of being the greatest, than to take a minute to wonder whether what he’s doing is good, because when he does so for too long, he realises that not necessarily everything is as good as he thinks. (which doesn’t mean it’s baddddd, that’s the issue w having big ego and low self esteem).

She enjoys her life to fullest and still maintains her beautiful calm and helpful persona even making jokes with ppl, and teasing her.

My fav moment is of her being so practical and invested in life and her ruling abilities and doing court everyday but also, enjoying her life and having crushes on men, soaking in water and going to her pool in terrace, her childish naivety nature of her makes me feel so respectful towards her bcs it literally rebutts and rejects the claim of ppl who hate her that she is stern and *cough* darker , when she is the most vulnerable person sometimes and so self-critical. basically *easy to approach* for her subjects, people. She likes dressing up for daario, admiring ppl and making herself beautiful to make others admire her, she is open sweet and receptive to people. she isn't some edgelord with dark personality like male fans want her to be so they can project onto her further lol. She has such a balanced personality.

HUFFS. PUFFS. I WRITE A LOT.

24. What is their sleeping pattern like? Do they snore? What do they like to sleep on? A soft or hard mattress?

Kyrril sleeps like hes fucking dead. Full on ferret dead-sleep. It takes VERY specific noises that he's gotten used to to wake him up, or a whole lot of jostling, the latter of which he is really not a fan of. No snoring, usually. He's a very quiet man.

He sleeps when he can and wear he can (comfortably). His schedule is sporadic, and he's a workaholic, so it's kind of just a 'whenever is convenient' thing for him. He can make do with a lot, but he vastly prefers lavishly soft things. Pillows. Blankets. Etc.

Biggest problem sleepwise for him is when other people are around. Bc of how deep he sleeps, he struggles to feel safe falling unconscious around even friends. And if he's not feeling comfortable, then he won't sleep at all. Pretends, sometimes, if he has to. He's trying to get better about that, though, but it's hard to blame himself for being worried when you could prolly pick him up and toss him in a lake before he realized he wasn't in bed.

27. What makes them sad? Do they cry regularly? Do they cry openly or hide it? What are they like they are sad?

Kyrril doesn't think he gets sad. He thinks he's above it, even though he's actually sad a lot. I think it's because he usually feels things pretty extremely, and the two times he can for certain say he was sad were traumatizing experiences more akin to panicked, stomach churning grief and fear. So from his point of view, everything else isn't really that big a deal.

Whenever he feels anything negative, he shoves it to the side, gets distant until he can brute force his way through any emotional response he might have. Generally he is pretty easy to push into a melancholy or baseline bummed out state, usually by way of accidentally giving him nostalgia. He also gets sulky when he doesn't get enough attention, because he takes it personally and can easily spiral into a dissociative, self deprecating state in which he questions his entire public persona.

He does NOT let himself cry if he can help it, unless he's putting on an act. If he DOES end up crying despite his best attempts, he does everything in his power to make it a private affair. And he'll hate himself for it, too. He's too good for that kind of thing, in his mind.

As I said, he gets pretty distant when he's bummed. Introspective at times. Mean if people keep pushing at him. It's incredibly easy to piss him off when he's already in a crappy mood, despite his claims that he doesn't 'do' anger.

35. What’s their guilty pleasure? What is their totally unguilty pleasure?

Guiltiest pleasure would prolly be how much he enjoys seeing other purplebloods around dash. I think I've touched on it before, so I won't go in depth unless someone wants me to, but he's predisposed to want to be around others of his caste. Which is something he doesn't actually want to do, and can't really. But seeing clowns around the dashspace manages to scratch a little part of his brain that thinks its a herd animal, if only a little bit.

He would however, rather die than admit that.

Unguiltiest pleasure is eating foods he knows will make him sick. He loves baking and chips and stuff, sugary sweets on the rare occasion, but he's technically not suppose to be eating that sort of thing unless it's in extreme moderation. It's worth it to him, though.

hi, genuine question! I want to like Mara, but d2 lore shows her, in my eyes, as selfish and cruel, set on her own goal with no consideration for others. At least that's what I got from marasenna lorebook.

Why is she liked by so many in community? I feel like I'm overlooking something over things I mentioned above, but I would appreciate a perspective from someone who likes her character! If it's okay to ask!

its totally okay to ask!! this is going to be a long post so im going to put it under a readmore :)

i just want to stress first that mara is like.... widely disliked by many in the community. it used to be very unpopular to like her and if you even said anything remotely positive about her, people would reply to your posts and send you anons about how you were a terrible person for liking such a manipulative and toxic character. it was only recently that community opinion kind of started to shift, and people started to actually appreciate her character as nuanced and interesting. i definitely dont think this is because of me or anything crazy like that, but ive tried to correct misconceptions about her and cultivate a space on my blog at least where people can just openly like mara and not feel like they have to qualify it by constantly assuring people that they know mara's done bad things too (because literally every character in d2 has done bad things, and somehow people understand that liking the uldren doesnt mean you support him killing cayde but cant apply that same concept to mara for some reason). ok, im getting off my soapbox now and im going to just talk about why i like her.

mara is genuinely just such a fascinating character to me. reading the marasenna im really struck by how alone she is, even as a 19 year old human. her mom has essentially abandoned her and says that she's mara's friend but not her mother, and mara's father is never mentioned, so mara literally has no parental guidance or supervision or love. this puts a lot more of her pre-awoken actions into context, such as her not knowing how to interact with people and preferring to keep herself away from the rest of the crew. everyone mara loves leaves her. her mom stays in the distributary, uldren is distant in his efforts to impress and surprise her and then dies, and sjur dies too.

i also love mara's character arc, although it kind of makes me sad. mara is so painfully human in the earlier parts of the marasenna. she's awkward, she's lonely, she thinks her and uldren's secret language is "cool," she gets embarassed at her mom's embarrassing petnames, she hero-worships alis li and listens to her advice. watching her lose all of this and crystalize into a queen is so interesting. remember, mara didn't go out into the fight between the darkness and the traveler bc she knew she would gain power and create the awoken, its stated that she went out there to die. so a 19 year old just trying to die peacefully ends up witnessing firsthand the power of the dark and light and being tasked with essentially creating a new species, knowing that one day she wants to go back and fight the darkness. she becomes such a politician and has to scheme and plot and really loses her humanity while following ALIS' advice- alis was the one who told her that people need a mascot, not a friend. this also makes for a really interesting scene where alis grants mara one favor, and instead of asking for political power, even though mara is such an intensely political and scheming person, she tells alis the truth about the awoken and asks for forgiveness. alis, who mara looked up to, doesnt forgive her, and mara really internalizes this and starts to permantantly close herself off. mara made herself into a queen and lost her humanity in the process. there's a couple people who see the real her, like sjur, but even sjur doesnt really understand her. but her relationship with sjur is also so well written and interesting, sjur being the one person she lets herself drop her mask around and just act human. i made a post about this once, but even mara's speech patterns change around sjur, becoming much more casual and "normal." however, at the same time, mara's mask/persona is a part of her character, and one that i love. people hate her for being "mean," but i like characters like that. mara doesnt take any shit, even from the protagonist, and has her own plans and goals that she doesn't feel obligated to share or change for other people. she's ambitious, sticks to her guns, and doesn't allow other people to influence her.

you say she's selfish, and i think it is easy to brush her off as selfish and doing everything for her own gain, but there's a lot of subtext and outright text in the marasenna and other lore that shows mara genuinely believes that the only way to fight the darkness is to become a being on the same level as the darkness and the traveler. she doesn't let the awoken become immortal gods, which some people regard as a bad thing, but she did that for a reason. mara understands that a people who are eternal and ageless will never grow as people, and she knew that the darkness wanted them to just be complacently sitting aside in their little realm while it does whatever it wants. mara wasn't going to let that happen, and knew she had to find a way to encourage people to leave paradise. you can dislike the way she went about this, essentially encouraging conflict and war among her people, but she did not just do it for her own gain or amusement. mara has also been hated on for starting the reef war/firing a missile at the house of wolves, people act like she did that just for fun too, but the eliksni fleet was heading to conquer earth. instead of just hiding and building up her own resources, which wouldve been the logical thing to do in this situation, mara put her own fleet and power on the line to draw the eliksni's attention away and help earth. she doesn't do things solely bc they benefit her, but because she genuinely loves and wants to help earth. her uncaring persona is a mask, the thing that she feels she needs to be for people to have faith in her.

i have more to say but this is already so long and ive said a lot, so i'll end it here :) at the end of the day, some people are just not going to like mara and thats totally fine. she's not everyone's type, bc she IS ambitious and manipulative and sometimes cruel. i just wish she didnt get a disproportionate amount of hate for being like that when i know for a fact that if she was a male character she would not get this much hate, and i wish that people could just dislike her normally without lying about her or misinterpreting her character and motivations. but if you dont like her, you dont like her! sometimes we just dislike characters, sometimes for well thought out reasons snad sometimes just for no reason! thats completely fine, as long as you're respectful!!

once again i am struck with the fact that the boys need nicknames. hmm.

UNDERTALE:

Sans: Guy who is deliberately and unabashedly Cringe. Overall, fairly laid back. However, he still prefers to maintain distance between himself and most people. It was already a natural facet of his personality but it was exacerbated by the Timeline Jank. People tend to forget he’s as smart as he is, they don’t think he’s stupid, they just mostly know that funnyman side of him. If you're a dick to Papyrus, he's gonna be a dick to you.  

Papyrus: Things are so exciting and fascinating to him, even the most mundane things. Despite seeming completely oblivious to things that seem completely obvious, he's very smart and deceptively cunning. Even though he knows how people see him (a big loud child) and he doesn't get quite the reception his brother does, he knows he'll win them over one day! He tries to avoid thinking about how lonely he actually is. It’s fine. He knows Sans is dealing with something (he won��t tell him what) but he figures he doesn’t need much else on his plate.

UNDERSWAP:

Sans: In this post, I mentioned that he's kind of always naturally been the more outgoing brother and that he's taken on this much more outgoing and bubbly persona as a result of the impact the timelines have had on him. He's competitive in a more aggressive way (maybe not quite the right word to use but), by which I mean he's kind of a sore loser sometimes. Also? He's a huge flirt, he's pretty skilled in the art of flustering.

Papyrus: Also in this post, I said that he's pretty chill until the conversation turns to something he's passionate about, then he reaches True Papyrus Volume Levels (and Chaos Levels). He is fairly relaxed, yes, but part of it is compensating for how awkward he can be. He gets embarrassed really easy, even something as small as misunderstanding something that was said. However! He’s a pretty popular artist online! Though he uses a pseudonym, being recognized and talked to by a stranger in public is not something he would look forward to.

UNDERFELL:

Sans: He’s cruel and crude, that’s kind of his whole thing. He’s not really the best at keeping a hold on his temper (though there’s a few other factors at play there). Keeping up the whole tough guy persona is the number one priority thus he doesn’t deal much with his emotions or inner turmoil or any of that other crap. Like US!Sans, he’s a flirt, except his flirting is mostly crude comments and jokes. And yet, somehow it works? Guy who is a disaster. He’s oddly nostalgic, mostly about his relationship with Papyrus. He wishes he could have been a better brother, but it seems like their relationship is too far gone.

Papyrus: He also doesn’t have the best control of his temper but he has an image to keep, one of a cruel and cold Royal Guard Captain. He didn’t used to be like this, but it’s necessary for his survival. He’s still surprisingly empathetic, something that could never really be beat out of him. HUGE perfectionist nearly to the point of it being debilitating. He oscillates between hating how weak he is and desperately wanting to be able to be weak. While he acts prideful about his ‘work’ int the Royal Guard, he is genuinely prideful about things like his cooking. Often to the point of arrogance.

SWAPFELL:

Sans: He’s seen as very cold and calculating, well-spoken. But he also knows when and how to turn on the charm. That’s how he’s even made it this far in life, it’s vital to his survival. He can also be very prideful, particularly in his position as Queen Toriel’s right hand and in his ability to remain cool in high stress situations. He’s well aware of how overprotective he is with Papyrus, he’s terrified of how cruel the world is and terrified that he’s stunted him to the point of not being able to cope with it.

Papyrus: He’s deathly shy. If it were safe/a good idea to use his own brand of shortcuts to get out of situations, by god would he. He, like his non-Fell counterpart, thrives in the relative anonymity of being online. Past that barrier of shyness, he’s excitable and surprisingly jovial. He tries to find some reason to be at least content, he thinks it helps Sans worry less (even if it doesn’t really). He’s actually pretty mischievous, though only dares to pull pranks on his brother.

HORRORTALE:

Sans: Horribly cynical and jaded. He’s working on it, even if he doesn’t particularly want to sometimes. He’s not home, so to speak, most of the time. He’s easily frustrated by the gaps in his memory, then he forgets why he’s frustrated and gets even more upset. He’s naturally very wary of everyone else and again, very much prefers to keep distance between himself and most everyone he comes into contact with.

Papyrus: He definitely tries to hide everything behind a happy demeanor, he tries to fix everything for just about anyone (especially his brother) without any fuss and tries to make it seem like he’s totally fine. There’s also this sense of jadedness, he tries to curb it but sometimes it still slips out. He still tries to act like himself, like he’d been before the Famine, but it’s exhausting and he’ll eventually come to terms with the fact that he’s no longer the same.

HORRORSWAP:

Sans: His competitive nature has morphed more into him being more of an aggressive hothead (though not quite to the level of UF!Sans). He’s really self-conscious about his new stutter and bringing it up frustrates him the same way treating him like a child had before. He has terrible mood swings, he can ruin his own day over nothing and it kills him. He’s really trying to get better, but he still has a hard time being honest with people.

Papyrus: He’s gotten pretty cynical since the Famine, he puts part of the blame on himself (if only he'd just been brave for once), even though he knows there's not really a whole lot he could have done. He’s even quieter than he used to be, he’d prefer if he could just fade into the background. He hates how much he stands out in any crowd and tries to avoid going out at all costs. The only one who can get him out is Sans because at least they can ignore everyone else and concern themselves with each other.

HORRORFELL:

Sans: He’s...mean. Like. He tends to be a major jackass. He can’t help but think well, humans aren’t exactly gonna wanna know a monster, much less him. And hey! Might just help keep his newly expanded family safe! He ain’t complainin’! He’s really just bitter about how things have gone for him and his brother (and about how things will likely go in the future). For as many dark jokes he makes to Frisk and Aliza, he’d be the first one to come to their rescue, he’s just that kind of friend.

Papyrus: He’s fairly quiet these days, but don’t think he’s not going to find some way to give you some kind of attitude. He’s been putting a lot of work into taming his anger, which is no small task considering everything. He still has his moments, but he prides himself in being able to cool off and keep himself somewhat calm. He still hasn’t been able to do much about his perfectionism, in fact it’s gotten worse, but he’s trying. And he, like his brother, is extremely protective of his little family, and god help anyone who dares try anything.

A B-Bonus????

UF!Comic Papyrus: (he’s the only one with a nickname...lol) Reggie here struggles a lot with who he is as a person, is he more Sans? More Papyrus? An even 50/50? Or is he someone else entirely? He’s introspective and hyper aware of his mannerisms, particularity in the ones he deems too Sans-like or too Papyrus-like. He’s not exactly the nicest, partially as a mechanism to keep people away (it’s just...easier that way). Reggie keeps to himself most of the time. He’s not shy though, he’s more than willing to speak his mind, even if it comes out more crass than it was intended.

ohh... interesting, interesting... p sure the only paintball wars i’ve really seen were the ones featured in The League, Peep Show, and Community... but let me wrack my lil head...

ok, i ended up coming at this from multiple angles like the zombie au post 😅 always so much to consider in battle environments! and in the spirit of community, I'll stick with the individual player elimination style paintball match. in the woods with other e prep seniors. last one standing wins bragging rights

Gabe

Shooting skill | 6/10 - Experience with shooting and practice with Kile ofc

Stealthiness | 8/10 - He's done a fair amount of sneaking around during his after school activities, is super observant (or just paranoid lol), and naturally light on his feet. Good luck ambushing him.

Strategy | 8/10 - Strike deals. Do favors. Form alliances. Shoot 'em in the back once they’ve outlived their usefulness. ...What? It’s just paintball.

How does he win? | Graciously. Gabe likes winning, and especially via strategic manipulation, so it puts a smile on his face. And he's in a good mood so he treats a bunch of you to ice cream or smth 👀

How does he lose? | Slumps in frustration at being outwitted or taken off-guard, sulks about it for a little while. He's not that sore of a loser but needs time to lick his wounds and stop thinking of the different choices he could have made.

Kile

Shooting | 9 - The most accurate shooter of the cast and easily one of the best shots at E Prep. Lots of practice + talent

Stealth | 10 - They're stupid good at climbing trees and 100% consider that a valid method of ambushing their classmates. People start having flashbacks to 3rd and 4th grade recess and P.E. Scanning the trees. They just start taking people out with such efficiency it quickly starts ruining the game 😂

Strategy | 0? 10?? - “...Strategy? You just stay out of sight and kill 'em all, right?” (immediately scolded by Gabe for word choice 🙄) They really do mainly stay out of sight and pick people off with max stealth, like 😆 they'd be such a terror, people would need to take them out early for anyone else to stand a chance! They spend a lot of the game staking out the most frequented paths in the area and taking out groups quickly, all at once. Then they'll get around to stalking and picking people off one by one. The real fun...

Winner type | Stoic. Likes winning combat but the stakes were non-existent, so... the win is meaningless! this just infuriates the losers more 😅 such disrespect

Loser type | Sucks their teeth and tosses their paintball gun to the ground. "Y'all suck." (they're over it five mins later tho lol)

Jack

Shooting | 3 - This is nothing like shooting light guns... ☹️

Stealth | 5 - Not just due to his size making him an easier target, but homeboy is liable to get distracted by a cute squirrel or some pretty flowers 😂 He's not great at keeping his voice down either so good conversation would make him easy to seek out. He's just out here enjoying a beautiful day 😅

Strategy | 7 - All that movie-watching (and DMing) make him a valuable creative mind for problem-solving, but he needs a cooperative team to be effective. Rescued and recruited by Rupan/Rohan early on in the game ^ ^

Winner type | Disbelief! And everyone’s content and satisfied with him winning. Except Vivian/Vincent, that jealous fool

Loser type | Doesn't mind losing at all! He just hopes he was a good teammate and was glad to have fun ☺️

Jessie

Shooting | 7 - Comes from a family of hunters, girly knows how to shoot.

Stealth | 6 - Familiar enough with woods and stalking prey to be capable of sneaking around. Having too much fun to not giggle and get overly invested in the developing plot of the game. Even more easily distracted by critters and flora than Jack 😅

Strategy | 5 - Oh, she's just here to have fun. She'll go with whatever the person she's teaming up with decides, but can adapt easily enough.

Winner type | Surprised... then elated! Bouncing and happy and it's completely contagious. No hard feelings about a single thing. Convinces Heidi to invite people to the Emerson Estate—it's a hot day and they have a nice pool

Loser type | Same as Jack! Congratulates the winner with a hug because she's sweet like that 🧁

Rain

Shooting | 2 - This... thing is so cumbersome. And ugly. At least it shoots pretty colors.

Stealth | 7 - Small and used to sneaking around different environments and seeking out hiding spots. Their height and frame makes them harder to spot too.

Strategy | 4 - Hide!!! They’re not getting assaulted with paint and pellets!! Especially not after managing to make this ugly jumpsuit look cute?? Waiting it out is perfectly legitimate. Might share snacks if you decide to join them in hiding 😆

Winner type | Falls asleep in an unexpectedly cozy hiding spot and emerges as everyone thought they’d declared the winner. I imagine R and others yelling at them to get their gun while the original winner scrambles to get theirs, just for Rain to win by pure luck of the draw. Won’t stop them bragging about it, though! (I want this spurned runner-up to be Vi bc ofc)

Loser type | "So I can stop holding this thing?" Yawn. "I'm so hungry and bored, we've been at this for hours..."

Rupan/Rohan

Shooting | 4 - Ah, shit. These don't shoot anything like light guns.

Stealth | 7 - They sneak out and around town a lot 😂 They just force themself to be careful about how loud grass and bushes are.

Strategy | 7 - They’re treating this shit like an action movie and banding together a ragtag team of misfits to take down the strongest alliances and players. Savvy enough to reject Gabe’s and Curt’s offers to join, not opposed to strategic backstabs. They're very clearly just as focused on having fun as they are on winning—and playing Predator, which honestly works with Kile runnin around. They even brought war paint and borrowed a tactical vest. Is it mostly packed with snacks and weed? Maybe. Does it prove useful for negotiations? Hell yeah.

Winner type | Raucous celebration, just pure joy and adrenaline ☺️ Celebrates with their team, brags a bit, rubs it into Vi's face, makes fun of Curt, the usual. Then invites allies out to get pizza because it's the obvious next step

Loser type | Mostly disappointed they can't keep playing. They're a little sore about being left out of the action, but soon just start chatting with other marked players about how the game went for them. Plenty entertaining on its own, they want all the details

Vivian/Vincent

Shooting | 5 - They've got a little bit of shooting experience.

Stealth | 4 - They're overly sensitive and hate being in nature. Their skin is sticky, they keep feeling bugs everywhere, they've gotten dirt all over their pants, it's so hot, they keep WALKING into SPIDERWEBS, [flails about, screaming furiously]

Strategy | 8 - They have good ideas, they're just difficult to execute alone, especially since they're getting sunburnt and getting crankier and can't stop swatting at insects 😅 they're one of the first people to figure out that someone's taking out groups from the trees, so they stay solo and try to find a single person to team up with. Really what they need is someone who's a better shot but easy to boss around. They can probably just owe them for an in-school favor...

Winner type | Barely suppressed gloating. Vi somehow finds a way to be an obnoxious winner almost entirely by the look on their face. Once they're in a smaller group, they're passionately discussing the details of the game and happily boasting about their triumphs (while glossing over all of the whining and and slip-ups lol)

Loser type | Booo, such a sore loser. (Especially in the scenario where Rain wins 🤣) If they're outsmarted or outgunned in a clear, transparent way they'll growl and stomp off, then quietly glower and sulk for way too long. If they're double-crossed or beaten in an underhanded way oh lord —they're fighting it to the end. R can't help but get involved either way, reminding them it was a damn game with literally no prize. "C'mon, Vi, chill. You want ice cream? Let's get you ice cream."

Heidi

Shooting | 6 - Some shooting experience.

Stealth | 8 - She's very aware of her surroundings and her body. Perceptive yet quiet. Tactical. All residual traits picked up from her many activities over the years.

Strategy | 9 - Most likely to outsmart everyone. The first one to figure out groups are being targeted from the trees. Goes it alone and only open to trading (unless she sees Curt with Jess in which case she puts a quick pin in her plans to rescue her 😂). She also immediately figures out it's Kile, because ofc it is. Keeps close tabs on what groups are doing, knowing that eventually Kile will come down to ground level to pick off individuals and couples. Predator becomes prey 👀

Winner type | Proud but not boasting. She doesn't need to be. Victory looks good on her, natural and fitting. Thanks everyone for a good game then takes the girls for a long ride in the Cadillac 😎 top down on a bright day, baby

Loser type | Damn. She should have won this. Maybe if she'd... She probably could have... Then she snaps out of it, roped in by the celebratory mood of congratulating the winner. She's over any feelings of frustration or regret after getting to discuss the match with the person that took her out/the winner and there's no hard feelings. If anything this was fun as hell, it should be an annual thing. ☺️

Curt

Shooting | 8 - Some shooting experience and a natural knack for it. Good reflexes.

Stealth | 8 - Curt likes to say he gets along with the woods around these parts. Sneaking around is second nature to him. Really good hearing too. He's an easy target if you manage to seduce him though, having no issue leaving himself vulnerable if it means that kind of fun 😂

Strategy | 7 - Honestly, he's most interested in seeing how long he can get away with using charm and seduction for both protection and double-crossing 😂 Eventually becomes persona non grata and gets all of his ammo stolen by a vengeful mark, barely getting away in the process. Since that jig is up, he finally starts thinking a win might be nice... and so he teams up with the only competent player who would never betray him and also inspires the least vitriol in others: Jessie. What? Is his back-up plan using her as a human shield? No! 😚 Of course not! 👉👈

Winner type | Insufferable and gloating. Rubs it in a lot of people's faces, specifically Heidi, Rupan/Rohan, and any participants who genuinely don't like him. Brags to Gabe (who is completely disinterested in gassing him up 😂), then promises he'll make things up to Jessie (who didn't mind and had fun lol). Then celebrates by asking whoever he's flirting with these days for a quick date—and a ride in the Ferrari. Makes a scene pulling out of the parking lot. Ass.

Loser type | Doesn't care one bit as long as he had fun! And he always finds a way to have fun, it's why he's so carefree 😅

I don't know that person tbh first time I encounter it by the randomness of tumblr, but they are insulting a friend of mine for the sake of yolo and their bias sasuke kun.

But it pisses me off SO BAD that all these specially Sasuke stans, now are all therapists and psychiatrists who give diagnostics and mental introspection of his character, just because they use 1 or 2 fancy letters that they read somewhere.

You know, at college we have a subject called Psychopathology 1 and 2 , where we see in an amount of 2 years all about DSM and Freud and etc, every class we deal and have to work with cases of people with mental issues and have to give a diagnostic. IT'S ABSOLUTELY DIFFICULT, I know very well what ptsd is and all about the rest of the other disorders, but all these uchiha stans use those terms, such as trauma, narcissism, ptsd, phobia and etc, so lightly because yolo. Even my professors struggle when it comes to give a diagnostic because is not that easy as it seems, I TRULY TRULY want them to take a look at the DSM V or IV

Of course every person deal with issues differently, but we can trace a little similarity between both, and Gaara became resilient and overcame his problems and now he is a different man. But what?
