the problem with tommy is that he’s just. Not a well-written character. he’s explicitly racist on screen and it’s not even addressed in that episode. instead, he says some bullshit to chimney about “not wanting to get attached” because the probies always come and go. i don’t think the writers even remember that he made racist comments because they just needed someone to exemplify the general racist atmosphere at the 118, and tommy just happened to Be There. and then 5 seasons later we have chimney saying “wow, tommy, that guy’s so cool!😍” as if 1) the very first thing he said to him (About him) was not a racist joke and 2) even after they became “friendly,” chim didn’t really stay in touch with him or care that much about him (via the episode with red).
and the thing is like. Could tommy be a great example of a character who goes through redemption and learns and grows? yeah. he definitely could. there’s a lot to explore there, and i’m not saying that someone displaying racist behavior is an automatic death sentence and they can never be redeemed Ever. i actually think it’s incredibly important to show those types of redemption stories, because it shows that it’s possible, and explores why people display racist behavior in the first place. but they just haven’t shown that at all with tommy’s character, and they haven’t even made an attempt, and i really doubt they’re going to. he’s inconsistently written, which isn’t uncommon for a show of this length with this many characters, but the problem happens when that inconsistency revolves around something as important as racism. it happens when you bring that character BACK without ever addressing his past behavior and acting like it didn’t happen at all. and it’s a writing flaw, but it gives validity to people not liking tommy. on the other hand, people who don’t read that much into it do like tommy, because we’re supposed to. because the narrative likes tommy, and they want to treat him like some cool action hero who flies helicopters and has a daddy kink and makes out with buck in the hospital lobby. and like, all those things are fine. but when you apply them to a character who has been shown on screen making racist comments, it gets way more complicated. so like—yes, it’s valid to not like tommy. it’s more than valid. i have no idea why people act like disliking him is just due to shipping/wanting buck to be with eddie (although yes, that’s obviously a factor), when disliking him due to unaddressed racism is way more important. also, you can just. not like him. he’s boring. lou’s a bad actor. it’s totally fine, and it’s UNDERSTANDABLE. i’m so tired of this😭

It's been six hours.
Six hours of pacing. Six hours of trying not to pull his hair out. Six hours of watching Rodney on the damn floor, where he had passed out mid-argument, checking his pulse every five minutes just in case.

in fact there IS a good grade in therapy that is (always) normal to want and (sometimes) possible to achieve in part through being labelled "insightful" and "self-aware" and it is to avoid being stripped of your autonomy and forcibly medicated + incarcerated. but of course the people treating this as laughably irrational - who think of therapy, in essence, as two people voluntarily talking in a room - are often the ones for whom this risk is the lowest

I agree that "in Germany your boss legally has to provide you with work while you're at your job" is a bit funny considering the German stereotype. But I am really annoyed at people who act like this is some horrible hypercapitalist thing on that post about pushing people out of their jobs by just not giving them anything to do. When really it's very basic worker protection (within the context of German emplyment law.) Because under most circumstances you can't just be fired from your job. Your employer has to provide a reason for firing you if they want to get rid of you. You also have a right to specifially the work you were hired to do.
So your boss having to give you appropriate work makes illegal any of the following:
a) Making you clean toilets instead of (or in addition to) the clearly defined office job you agreed to do
b) Not giving you work and then firing you for not doing your work
c) Waiting for you to crack under the intense boredom of having to stay on one place with absolutely nothing to do for eight hours a day while your coworkers are roped into it to shun you (or hate you because for some reason you're the only one who doesn't have to do any work) until you quit "voluntarily"
or d) waiting for you to crack under the aformentioned pressure until you do what the people in the notes said they'd do, like watching movies or doing a second job instead which is something you then can be reprimanded and fired for

Jason’s alcohol tolerance is exactly 0.09%, which Dick knows. Which is the primary reason he roped his siblings into playing a drinking game.
At most, Steph, who likes to think she’s fluent in Jason, — or Batboys with repressed emotions, at least, — anticipated the following:
Angry shouting, maybe some swear words God definetly didn’t approve of, trying to fist fight Alfred’s plants, painting the Batmobile pink, and the works.
She definitely didn’t expect a ruby cheeked Jason to cry in Bruce’s lap.
“What the fuck are we gonna do if we don’t know eachother in the next life, huh?!”
Tim piped up with an a nerdy rant, — technically, if life were to reinvent itself into another existence, it’d simply be an alternative universe being created, — but Jason simply throws his shoe at him.
Bruce, much to Damian’s pride, doesn’t look shaken in the slightest. If he can handle his mother, he can handle everything,
“Sweetheart, I really think that’s not going to happen, thought,” he assures him with gentle conviction.
“But we’re not gonna know eachother! What the FUCK. I want to be your son in every life. I’m gonna kill God.”
“Please don’t kill God.”
“We’re Jewish, what do we care?!”
“Jay,” Bruce promised, “I would find you in every universe.”
That was supposed to make Jason feel better, not make him cry harder. But it’s cute Bruce tried, Dick thinks.
He still grounds all of them for paining the Batmobile, thought.

theres a certain youtuber that i like and every once in a while i see some bullshit drama starting video about them and i'll start it like "oh no did they do something really bad" and every time its always "idk they just strike me as really creepy" about extremely normal social anxiety/awkward behaviors.
anyway some of yall are extremely not okay about very minor "not fitting in" behavior and it's really really cruel. stop being fucking mean girls.

i love the way sansa is so proud to be catelyn's daughter. in a world where women are expected to assimilate to their husbands' world once they get married, there's sansa adopting her mother's gods into her creed, taking pride in having her mother's looks, often choosing to wear the colors of her mother's house and, most importantly, drawing strength from her mother's memory. what's so great about this is that it's not an act of spite against her father. she's just proud of being both stark and tully. it's like arya said: the woman is important too.
