Neko s/o

Killua Zoldyck

🪀​Well, his family has the hound Mike protecting their property but he'd probably do himself only a great disfavour by treating you similarly to his family's pet dog considering that you aren't overly fond of being associated with such simple creatures. Overall Killua's reaction is quite laidback though in the face of your unusual heritage, especially since he has made acquaintances with Chimera Ants in his past, some of them truly grotesque in appearance. Your outgoing and playful nature is often a trigger for jealousy if you direct such behavior at anyone else though if it is him you play with he eventually sports a blush all whilst trying to not show how flustered he is. You sleep a lot and Killua abuses that trait of yours for cuddle sessions. Sometimes you don't mind in which case he just happils snuggles up to you without letting go. Other times you seem not interested in affection from his side and make your unwillingness very vocal, essentially breaking his heart a little. Quite sharp with your senses you always know when Killua switches into assassination mode though, especially when someone harrasses you for your features. You know that there is going to be another person missing soon...

Kurapika Kurta

⛓️​You may not be what Kurapika imagined his partner to be when he was little but he is unable to be picky once his obsession has started to gain monentum. Kurapika's overbearing and paranoid behavior is going to be a very bad matchup for you though if you should be someone who values freedom and loves exploring the world outside as he will lock you away. His clan was massacred for their unique eyes and he fears that other Hunters might come after you simply because you are also different than others. Still, Kurapika is no complete fool. His clan was fairly isolated from the outside and he spent the first few years of his life surrounded by nature and animals which means he still remembers how to approach a frightened animal in attempts to win your trust even if his overprotective love sometimes may not allow him to remain patient with you. Your habit of squeezing yourself into narrow spaces for a long nap has led to some panic from his side when he couldn't find you and nearly tore the entire place apart only for your sleep to be disturbed by all the noise which led you to crawl out of whatever crevice you somehow managed to fit in. You enjoy playing with his chains and he often entertains you by letting you.

Illumi Zoldyck

🤎​Illumi with little to no empathy finds himself dehumanising you actively by treating you like you are a literal pet. He doesn't quite know what he is supposed to do with someone like you, only knows what he desires you and wants to own you which has led you to be locked away inside a room filled with cat toys, cat trees and ball of wools. Obviously you are beyond irritated with the situation you find yourself in and you let your short temper and frequent ire out on the few butlers who enter your room as soon as they even attempt to touch you against your will. Whenever Illumi spots those scratch marks he's quite disappointed. Not because he cares about the butlers but more because those wounds show that you do not know how to behave yourself, something he won't tolerate since you are his. Pragmatic as always and as apathetic as ever, Illumi punishes you indeed like one would a bad pet for inappropriate behavior though he is met with a lot of resistance as you try to sink your claws into his skin as well, only adding to the severity of your punishment. If you do not learn how to behave yourself Illumi threatens to use his needles on you to get you to finally be obedient to him.

Chrollo Lucilfer

📖​You're a quite endearing thing. Some may simply underestimate you due to your cat features yet Chrollo is aware that every kitten has their claws as your intuition exceed those of the same fools who dismiss you. You seem to know from the very start that Chrollo is not the person he pretends to be yet instead of shying away your curiosity actively guides you to spend your time with him simply because he fascinates you. A notion that is mutual as he would like to note as both of you walk in circles around each other, trying to figure the other out. The way you arch your back when waking up, your penchant of sleeping in places humans would consider far too uncomfortable and your curious nature are all habits of yours he learns to adore, dark eyes always trailing after you. You love this game going on between the two of you and so does he, utterly captivated by your mischievous charm as he willingly entertains you. After all Chrollo already knows that all of it might be over the moment he finally claims you for himself and takes away your treasured freedom. You'll learn to accept your new life though eventually even if he has to pull your claws if worse comes to worse.

Feitan Portor

☠️​He blames you for it is all your fault that he became as obsessed as he is with you. You move with grace and elegance, every movement of your body captivating his attention as Feitan wonders how that lithesome body of yours would writhe and wriggle if he were to subject you to his torture devices. Confident and sassy, the mere way you carry yourself around seems to infuriate him as he recognises you for the mischievous minx that you are. Oh, you know exactly what you are doing to him, aren't you? Feitan doesn't even hesitate to get rid of those rats who believe that they can get cozy with you though yet his usual sadistic joy is always partially ruined when he remembers that it is because of you that he does all those things. His mind changes though when he one day is lucky witness when you finally reveal your fangs and teeth when someone corners you due to your different features, his body leaning subtly forward as he watches intently how that playful expression turns into a snarl as your claws tear into their flesh, delicious cries of agony filling the air. His only disappointment is that you didn't finish them off but he can do that for you. So you're more than just a little kitten after all.

Shalnark

📱​Shalnark literally can't keep his hands off of his darling. He'd already be a touchy person under normal circumstances but there is something about those pointy ears and fluffy and soft tail that give him even more cuteness aggression. Even if you were to hiss at him or bear your teeth he wouldn't stop, instead cooing at you in a sickenly sweet tone as he ignores your clear warnings that he should stop. That sweet smile can't fool you though as you know that Shalnark is the type to threaten you with a deceivingly bright grin on his face, a cheshire cat in his own way. Lots of scratch marks litter his biceps and arms, all wounds you left when he didn't respect your privacy. Despite his obsession he remains condescending though in slightly more subtle ways. You're after all not completely human, your instincts as your cat largely guiding you and keeping you from seeing the world how it really is. That is why Shalnark plans to keep you safe as he doesn't think of you as capable to look out after yourself. This delusion entails locking you away from the world outside as well as different punishments that will indeed make you feel like he is seeing you as a badly behaved pet than a human being.

Okkotsu Yuta

💍​Yuta absolutely adores his darling but sometimes their playful and sociable nature is a bit too much for his heart to handle, especially since he is so easily flustered. Rika on the other hand is often left jealous as it is quite obvious that Yuta is helplessly infatuated with you and as if you have a death wish you actually approach the curse as your curious nature prevails over apparently your survival instinct. Luckily Rika knows better than to harm you as she knows that otherwise she'd earn herself Yuta's wrath. The bashful look in his eyes, the pink blush on his cheek and the stutter in his voice are nothing short but delightful to you whenever you snuggle yourself closer to him, you love teasing him every chance you get. There is a tinge of shame somewhere within Yuta's heart as you are essentially a weeb's wet dream, a true Neko and there are times where he questions his own morals yet all of that is buried the moment you cuddle up to him. A mixture of possessive selfishness as well as paranoia lead to isolation though as you aren't someone that can just walk through the streets of Tokyo as your existence needs to remind a secret. Please, please please don't hate him for this.

Gojo Satoru

🩵​Satoru is having the time of his life with you. You're the most adorable person he's ever met in his life and he has zero intentions of ever letting you go. He's constantly petting your ears or gently caresses your tail, his hands roaming over your body to find the spots that make you purr. Extreme cuteness aggression as even your anger doesn't seem to faze him which does lead to some serious irritation from your side as you feel like he doesn't take you and your own feelings serious. A theory proven the moment he pinches your cheeks and coos at you with a loving look in his blue eyes. As long as he is around you are unable to take a peaceful nap because the moment you attempt to do so he pounces on you and whines about how cruel you are for depriving him of cuddling with you. It really doesn't matter where you hide as Satoru somehow always finds you, doesn't matter how obscure or narrow the space is you managed to fit in. Your life is restricted to the one big apartment he lives in though, his paranoia deeper than he lets on. Humans, curses, even other sorcerers could endanger you as you belong to neither category, a true loner due to being a Neko and for that at risk of being potentially targeted by all.

So, I did kinda sketch ref for my Kraang character and make her more of a person, or something, with a name and all. I'm still going to use they/them pronounce and Y/N when people will be asking something about Krangified AU.

So, her name is Ana now.

About her personality before she was turned into the Kraang zombie I still can't say much at the moment (because I'm mostly focused on their interactions in the present timeline), except for her being the person who was genuinely worried about Leo and what's been going on in his head. She saw his attitude and for her it was obvious it was mostly a facade to hide his real emotions and wanted to help him, being a shoulder to lean on. I see her being the weirdo to others that found his jokes actually funny.

After Kraangification, I can describe her with one word: DEPRESSION. I mean, you've been a mindless zombie for about 10 years that practically flashed before your eyes. You wake up facing the facts that the world has been at war with the Kraang for all this time, everyone you knew grew up, your family is long gone, your boyfriend been through hell and lost his arm, and, yeah, your still kinda a zombie also facing some self-control issues. Your Kraang half is taking control over you from time to time, attacking others and even friends if provoked. Not to mention that a lot of things that used to be casual to you are now something you need to learn to be used to again, like bed or actual food. Yeah and also that little inconvenience that she has to eat people now.

She's been dozing off a lot at first, after Leo got her to their base, just staring at one point, processing the whole situation and still feeling like it's just a very long nightmare. And only Leo could snap her out of this state at least for a short amount of time.

When I've been making first sketches with her I gave her this pointed ear and horn like Kraang appendage on her forehead, and thought this kinda reminded of oni's (demons) from Japanese folklore, which kinda resonated with this whole Kraang AU concept.

I also can't stop thinking about Beauty and the Beast (original Disney animated movie) concept, only with them swapping roles in contrast to the original story.

I really like the concept of the turtles being able to make this chirping and churring sounds, and thought, why can't she make something like this? So, yeah, she can churp and purr (I don't know if there's a difference between churring and purring, still didn't understand, and this churring sound is still mostly fictional, fanon thing..? but, anyway). I like this idea of Leo and Ana being able to communicate with the language only they (and other turtles) understand.

A few more sketches with her and a couple of scenes.

Her claws on the Kraang arm can extend. I thought about her being able to shapeshift her arm further, but for now it's either extended claws, or something like a sword or some other sharp pointy thing...

I've been thinking about her fighting style, and for a reference I used the The Witcher 3 again (yeah) There's a vampire species, Bruxa and Alp, and I'm thinking her fighting style would be something like of an Alp. Fast and agile, also pretty strong (tho still not strong enough to take out big enemies like the Kraang in their suits).

I have this scene in my head that I actually been sketching already, where she's fighting the Kraang hounds, and pretty much able to lift one grabbing it by it's throat and throwing it into the tree like a rag doll.

Another thing is her screech she uses to intimidate/immobilize her enemies. It's also more of an alp than bruxa, especially in this video time code 00:36, this is pretty much how I imagine it.

I also know that I've messed up her eyes when she's in her Kraang mode, because they should be turning purple, like Raph's left eye that wasn't covered by Kraang flesh, but, uuuh, I don't want to change that at this point...

I think that's it for now...? If I'll have more ideas I'll either be making other posts, or updating this one.

It strikes me. This idea that biking is dangerous. "Stupidly dangerous." The bike is not dangerous. The bike killed no one. It is 20 pounds. Inanimate on its own. Were I driven by some hypothetical bloodlust, with intent to kill hounding my pedals, I could maybe, at best, reach 18 mph. I could maybe, at best, knock someone over. I could skin their knees. Skin my knees.

(You could kill them!) if I knocked them into the street. I could kill them if I knocked them over (into the street). I could die if I knocked myself over (into the street). The bicycle is still 20 pounds. The bicycle still did none of the killing. What stolen glory are we assigning it. Why are we ignoring the 2-ton death machine in the streets which does all the killing in every circumstance here.

The bicycle is not dangerous. We push for bike lanes and they push back over losing parking. (You're the death machine here. You, in the car, not me.) The bicyclist is a brazen and entitled pedestrian to them. And a pedestrian is someone who should already yield mind body and soul to cars (the death machines. the stupidly dangerous mode of transport.) Pedestrians, who have already yielded so much to a society that favors and loves and prioritizes cars (the things doing the killing.) Bikes and pedestrians are so so dangerous at getting themselves killed. They need to act accordingly.

"What a stupidly dangerous mode of transportation" it would take an assassin, clever and creative and with both enough time and incentive, to find any way to kill someone with my bike. Your car kills without missing a beat. What a stupidly dangerous mode of transportation your car is. Stop killing us with them.

Hey, i'm not sure if you've explained this already, but what are the data tendrils that Prowl uses to give everyone their colour/alt modes? Do all cybertronians have it, or is it specific to a couple of bots? I assume they have a similar function to the ones Soundwave has in TFPrime?

oh, also: how do the protoforms/weird egg modes work? Is it just used for long stasis?, coz im assuming they looked different back on cybertron,,,

Yes, all cybertronains have these cords. Most average bots have four on their upper back, bots like cassette carriers, shuttles, and titans have more. They have many uses but are primarily used to connect to other systems and cybetronains, either transport or receive data, manually take control of another system, or perform diagnostics on another system or bot.

cybertronains also have ports for cords to connect to, with port 4 on the upper chest, which can be used for most basic data transfers, and one port on either the back of the neck or head, which has more access to the primary processor,

Prowl interfaced with the ark primary computer system and manually brought it back online, along with having it do a scan for language data, and viable alt mode data.

Anyway, I'm working on a big post about cybertonain anatomy, but it is taking a bit. I am still trying to figure out how I want to convey all that info, but there should be more about this coming sometime in the future.

as for protoforms

I held off on this ask because Hound kinda answers some of the lore on proto form in the newest pages read here, but I will elaborate on what has already been shared. Protoforms' the sorta cacoon state thing, is a cybertonains sorta default mode. It's what they are formed as before they first transform, but they can revert back to this state if they are in extreme danger. Protoforms are very hard to damage and can stay like that for millions of years, longer than a natural cybertronains lifespan; it's kinda of like putting a bot on pause for however long they are in that state, thought if a bot somehow does get damaged in protoform, the consequences can be catastrophic and almost always irreversible. Bots in protoform cannot transform unless given energon

Proto-modes, the state they are in after they transform from their protoform. They are anything but invincible in this state. A bot is only meant to stay in this state for a short period of time before obtaining an alt-mode, like a crab that just left its old shell. not an ideal state to be in. Their metal is softer, relatively speaking, not soft to a human but soft in the way gold or lead is soft. The one advantage of this mode is that it can take on a new alt-mode quickly. A bot with a pre-established alt mode will take several hours to reconfigure their frame into a new alt. A proto-mode bot can take on a new alt in less than a minute.

Stable mode bots have a proper alt and can switch between robot mode and alt easily. This is the ideal state for a cybertonain to be in.

The bots before the crash had different cybertronain-based alt modes but all previous alt-mode data is lost when a bot reverts to proto mode so even if they wanted to use their old cybertronains alts they couldn't

You were always with the Autobots. But ever since the humans came after you and the others. Forcing you all to go into hiding since the end of the decepticons. Things haven’t been any easier.

You always stood up for Optimus. Being one of his oldest friends and all.

Always by his side. But that doesn’t mean you didn’t trust his judgement. You’ll admit you doubted his thoughts and words towards the humans. But said nothing.

You’re not even sure why even now. Ever since you separated from the others. You were able to get a signal from a few other bots.

You realized it was from your old friend Hound.

You and him both friends before you all separated when coming to earth. Though you weren’t expecting the two colorful bots with him.

You and drift immediately having a playful beef that isn't that serious. It being you both use swords. Though you use one. The green one being crosshairs didn’t seem that too impressed.

Until Hound mentioned that you were a former weapon specialist and could easily build a gun from nothing but scrap. Something he learned about you throughout the years of war.

While Crosshairs worked with a different group of Autobots and Drift was a decepticon still at the time.

And so the four of you stayed close. Staying in your alt modes most of the time during the day until you all can find a new place to hide from the humans.

The chance of getting a signal from Optimus or any other bot seems to only wore thin with each passing day. One day when hiding in a garage ka bunch of teen boys walked around. Spray painting the walks and such.

Everyone can tell Crosshairs was getting anxious. Luckily for him. Because you alt mode was a Porsche truck. Which apparently is seen as boring to kids these days.

They start insulting your alt mode. Patting at the side and getting ready to spray paint the hood. Writing “shit” on it. They barely got to the “I” when Crosshairs and Drift transormerd and basically traumatized the kids.

After they left Hound made the call for them to leave. You all driving to another location far enough from them.

Once far enough after driving for an hour. You and the others were able to transform and stretch you arms and legs. The three mechs looking at your chest.

The words “Shi” sprayed on your chest with yellow paint. Hound tried to not laugh as drift just side.

Crosshiars not saying much as you tried to take off the paint. Crosshairs was the one who suggested you have a new alt mode. And so you got one. Getting rid of the paint as a new color covers your body.

That’s when you guys finally got the call. You being in your alt mode when changing vehicles.

You all then made your way to this desert in a line.

You all got closer and closer. Soon driving alongside Bee who also got Optimus call.

Soon enough Crosshairs was the first to transform when by Optimus. You doing the same he Optimus stopped near you. You transforming as drift got close as well.

Crosshiars tried to not stare. Drift being the one ot hit his arm with a smirk. The other speaking as they take turns. When Optimus transformed he had a new look.

You looked up at him and smiled. Crosshiars seemed to notice and grew a bit jealous.

You didn’t speak much when the humans were out. You standing next to bee unbothered as Hound and Crosshairs grew mad about the humans.

You and Optimus taking a moment to speak as the others investigate the humans.

Crosshairs to be glancing at him. Until hound grabbed his helm making him look down as e chuckled. “Watch it kid.” Crosshiars was annoyed and let out the groan as bee poked at the female.

You and Optimus speaking about not trusting the humans and more. Later he announces he’ll find the person who is hunting them down. Later you and the others watch the video of one of your comrades being attacked.

You looked away unable to watch.

Optimus standing and placing his cervo on your shoulder as comfort. Crosshairs glaring before looking away. A little more jealous.

Later that morning when at the abandon house Crosshiars spoke to Optimus. You were transformed and watched.

You’d then transform as Crosshairs left. Optimus still stood there. He’d then look at you. His frown gone when he saw you. Having a small smile as he spoke.

“Watch him. Make sure he doesn’t get into trouble.”

You’d nod and transform. Following him. From there you followed him back into he desert. Staying behind a mountain as he transformed. He started practice shooting with his weapon.

Putting up small cans he found on the ground at times. After a few moments he yelled. “You can come out. I know our oh so great leader sent you.”

You walked from behind the mountain with your cervo on the handle of your sword.

“Apologies, I am his most loyal soldier after all.” You responded as you got closer. He only scoffed as he looked over his gun. Responding as he doesn’t look at you.

”Of course. One of Optimus lap dogs doing his bidding.” You raised an optic ridge as he spoke. He seems to be struggling with his gun and trys shooting again.

But before he can pull the trigger you grabbed the top of it. Stopping him. He spoke. A bit mad as he turned to you.

”Are you bloody mad?” You let out a chuckle before taking the gun. Turning away as he stands there.

”I’ve worked with guns more times then you can probably count.” You start working on the gun.

Crosshiars looking over your shoulder watching as you fix up his gun. He was surprised as you soon spinned it them started shouting the cans flawlessly.

He stared at the cans before looking back at you as you had a grin on your dermas as you hand his gun back.

”Now try it.” He took the gun and started shooting.

Testing out the gun. He was surprised and looked back at you. You didn’t notice the way his optics stared at you as they soften. You looking at the fallen cans with your cervo on you sword handle once more.

“Thanks…” He said quietly, causing you to look at him. “You’re welcome.”

Crosshairs just smiled at you as you walked away.

Taking a seat on a big rock against the mountain as he continues. Later bragging about his weapons and how he learned to build weapons himself.

You two of you even flirting a bit before being called back to the empty house to the others. Something told you that you both are going to be good pals after dealing with your current enemy.

Oh BOY! Can’t wait to post part 2! This was a lot of fun to write and I cant wait for part 2 to release and post. It was hard not writing in scenes that I plan to add in my bayverse series. Which might be a while from now since this is in the fourth film. I wanted to write in interactions for the future couple goals.

Can I get bay Optimus, Hound, sentinal, bee and Lennox reaction to a transformer who has glow in the dark car parts? 🚗 so in like pitch black situations, they glow and it's easy to see them.

Optimus:

He tries not to get involved with his bot's choice in designs or alt modes. They can choose what they please for their appearances.

His only issue is that the glow-in-the-dark parts might make them easier to spot, and make them a target to the Decepticons. He wants them to be safe when traveling.

He'll voice his concern, and suggest having the ability to turn off the glow-in-the-dark parts when doing stealthy missions. But if they can't, he won't force them to remove the items.

Hound:

He doesn't understand the appeal of the glow-in-the-dark parts. But he puts it to the younger bots having different interests than him.

He feels like it's too much hassle to equip the parts, too much upkeep for some flashy looks. But it's their choice and if it makes them happy then he won't say anything.

Sentinel:

He thinks it is very inappropriate. He doesn't think they should flaunt themselves in such a flashy way. He believes the point of an alt mode is to be useful and be stealthy which they currently are not.

He states that they should remove the glow-in-the-dark parts as he doesn't think they are necessary.

He can't really force them to remove them, he can only sternly suggest. Then he'll complain to Optimus if the bot decides to keep them.

Bee:

He thinks they look great. If they are happy then Bee is happy. He won't say anything negative and he tries to defend the bot if anyone else does say something negative about them.

He wouldn't personally get glow-in-the-dark parts. He doesn't need nor want them. But he's happy for the bot that does have them.

Lennox:

He wants to know if they got the parts themselves or if they got a human to help. He also wonders if that's human technology making them glow-in-the-dark or if Cybertronians can make themselves glow.

He doesn't have the power to control how the bot looks, he'll run it past Optimus to make sure it's ok. But ultimately he can't do much.

However he may not send the bot out on stealth missions, he worries they would blow the mission. So he tends to keep them away from night patrols.

Man if you think the town was fucked before, HOO BOI- Okay LIs and their animals though:

Robin: Rabbit. No particular breed or species. Prefers to hide or generally avoids using their beast side as much as they can unless either really late for school, which is rare, or is in full Flight Mode. However, at high confidence, you start to see them change form a little more often just for fun. Kylar: Bat. Again, no particular species in mind atm. Also the type to avoid taking their beast form unless backed into a corner, but if the Whitney vs Kylar path of their Halloween event says anything (and, you know, this is the same person who was willing to stab a bitch just for sitting next to you), you probably don't want them in this form to begin with. Imagining them crawling and clinging to ceilings makes me feel insane. Absolute goblin. Probably doesn't fly much even when it'd be more convenient.

Also, they're probably a fruit bat, but there's definitely rumors about the freak going around and biting people's necks and them always smelling like garlic probably doesn't help.

Whitney: Polar bear. Despite how aggressive they are, they actually find more entertainment making people submit in their human form and surprisingly has the most control of their shapeshifting. If Whitney transforms, you know shit is BAD and you're probably going to die. Their animal form is something of a boogeyman around school because of that.

Sydney: Cat. Like, a really, REALLY fluffy cat. Surprisingly comfortable in their beast form, but it's still rare (just doesn't see a point) and they mostly bring it out for extra warmth.

Avery: Secretary bird. Also considered a pretty or fancy looking hound (think salukis, borzois, greyhounds, afghan hounds etc). Just anything with long legs and looks very graceful or elegant and harmless which makes their true nature worse once out.

Eden: Haven't met them besides one encounter but I kinda imagine some sort of vulture. Maybe a bearded vulture. Like yes they're a hunter but listen vultures are still cool-

Alex: (Horned) sheep or goat. I really like imagining them absolutely headbutting the shit out of Remy's goons. I think out of everyone (second to Eden anyway), they're probably the most comfortable with their beast form and likes to run around on the farm in it when given the chance. Will let those close to them cuddle into their wool if a sheep and just relaxing on the farm.

Now for the town...

Forgive me since it's been about a year or two since I watched BNA but considering how...let's say, unhinged this town is already, I'd imagine that folks are more free in switching between forms but there's still certain circumstances it should be avoided (like transforming during an argument can be seen as a threat or act of aggression even if triggered by accident like a heat of the moment type of thing). I also choose to ignore the ending that basically makes beastmen seem like ticking bombs if they're stressed enough bc I just think it's dumb and with some of the dark shit in this game, this town would've been decimated a long time ago.

Hmm. Even my darker stories usually have a bit of light in the end, since I am a sucker for happy (if possibly bittersweet) endings. But the story Atrocity (please mind the tags on that one) leaves Bluestreak in a bad place at the end, and nothing is really resolved.

7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

I have lots of fics with really happy endings! But in terms of having no hanging ends, I think The Renegade and the Hound might be the happiest. 🤗 The last chapter of that fic is all warm fuzzies for the characters.

Not yet. 😄 I've gotten some vaguely critical comments sometimes but I wouldn't call that hate.

Ooooh yeah. I write it all. I'll even write the weird stuff there's no terms for. Give me that weird-ass smut.

I tend to write fusions rather than traditional crossovers, but the weirdest one was very recent: The Spark and the Lightning, which is the War for Cybertron game crossed/fused with Dune.

Yes! The fic Becoming has been translated into Russian.

Sort of? A friend and I tossed little bits of a story back and forth several years ago, each of us building on what the other had just written. I have the bits all collected, but I'm not sure if it'll ever see the light of day.

It's in the Alt Modes and Alchemy AU. Basically it's the events of the climax of The Renegade and the Hound and a period immedately afterwards, but from Perceptor's POV. It's written as a half diary/half academic paper. The title is:

On the Restoration of Cybertron: An Analysis and Personal Account, or A Treatise on the Effects of the Destruction of the Matrix of Leadership on Cybertron and its Inhabitants from an Alchemical Perspective, and a Personal Account of said Event as Recalled by Perceptor of Iacon, Head Alchemist of Optimus Prime.

It's hella fun, and I'd love to finish it, but it keeps moving out of my "currently working on" stack into the "shelved" stack. :/

I think I'm good at worldbuilding and writing those juicy emotional scenes.

Finishing stuff. 😅 But seriously, I have a tendency to go back and rework stuff I've written (but not yet posted) instead of working forward on getting more words down. I love editing too much I think. >.<

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?

It's fine? It should be clear to the reader what the dialogue says without them having to Google Translate it. Anything that stops a reader and takes them out of the flow of the story is a Bad Thing imo.

Hahaha! I think the first actual fanfic I wrote was in the Time Quintet series (specifically after reading A Swiftly Tilting Planet) by Madeleine L'Engle. I think I was about 8 or 9.

20. Favorite fic you’ve written?

Hmm. My favourite long fic is Mind, Body, and Soul (which was long and self-indulgent and I said everything I wanted to say about the Big Themes of the story). My favourite short fic is probably Datastream, mostly because I dipped into Cybertronian brains and weird sci-fi elements, mixed with formatting to help tell the story. :)

WASHINGTON - President Joe Biden's stumbling debate performance on Thursday night has led to some calls from his party to step aside, leaving his campaign in peril just weeks before he accepts the Democratic nomination.

It's also got party wags wondering how Kamala Harris, a former prosecutor, would do if she were handed the torch and faced-off with Donald Trump, the first former president ever to be both charged and then convicted of a crime.

If the 81-year-old Biden were to heed those calls, it would set the stage for his 59-year-old running mate to potentially become the first woman and woman of color to lead the nation.

Although questions of age and impairment have hounded Biden throughout the campaign, he has faced no real competition for the nomination. In Thursday's debate, Democrats wanted Biden to demonstrate that he had the vigor to serve a second term. Instead, they got rambling answers in a raspy voice, sentences that trailed off as if he lost his train of thought and repeated verbal flubs that Trump was able to capitalize on.

Prominent Democrats quickly closed ranks around Biden, while the pundit and commentary world melted down demanding he step aside to make way for another candidate.

Michael Tyler, the president's campaign communications director, told reporters Friday that there is no talk happening inside the campaign about the calls for Biden to stand aside.

"There are no conversations about that whatsoever. The Democratic voters elected, nominated Joe Biden. Joe Biden is the Democratic nominee," Tyler said.

But Congressional lawmakers, and even Biden's Democratic predecessor, Barack Obama, showed lukewarm support Friday, raising questions about who would be able to step in so late in the election process.

Former Iowa U.S. Sen. Tom Harkin, himself a former presidential candidate, had some of the harshest criticism Friday of the president, saying the debate was “a disaster from which Biden cannot recover" and that Biden should release his delegates to support another candidate at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago in August.

“Stay the course. Chill out,” said Rep. Jim Clyburn, D-S.C., whose support was pivotal to Biden securing the nomination in 2020. “I’m a Biden-Harris person, so I’m not getting away from that. I’m for Biden-Harris. I’m going to be for Biden if Harris ain’t there and I’m going to be for Harris if Biden ain’t there," he said.

Harris was the most vocal surrogate supporting Biden on Thursday night, appearing on multiple cable news shows to push back on the panic over his performance, repeatedly calling it a "slow start."

"I'm not going to spend all night with you talking about the last 90 minutes when I've been watching the last three and a half years of performance," she told CNN's Anderson Cooper when he asked if she had concerns after watching Biden.

After pivoting from MSNBC's Rachel Maddow's questions about Biden's performance to talk about women's reproductive rights, a topic Democrats want at the forefront of the campaign, Harris noted that Biden was the only candidate on the stage who is endorsed by their vice president.

That was a jab at the split between Trump and former Vice President Mike Pence after Pence refused Trump's request to halt Congress' certification of Biden's 2020 win.

Afterward Maddow said, "They need to start trusting Vice President Harris to cut her own path, because she does very, very well and the more you get of her the better it is."

During the first half of the administration, which began during the pandemic, Harris, like Biden, was largely out of public view, leaving Americans to form opinions of the vice president based on scripted virtual events. Voters questioned where the Harris they knew during her 2020 presidential campaign had gone or the one they knew as a senator, when she made her mark as a forceful and even combative progressive Democrat who asked tough questions and held people to account for their policies and positions even when they tried to dodge them.

Harris has been intensely campaigning for months, making many of the expected retail politicking type stops, especially in swing states like Georgia and Nevada, that get less national media attention. On Friday she did campaign events in Los Angeles and Salt Lake City and spoke at an event aimed at Latino voters in Las Vegas.

At the Nevada event, a Biden campaign aide tried to end interviews when attendees began criticizing Biden and his debate performance, according to a White House pool report.

Democratic voter Amy Nelson said the debate was “terrible," the report said.“You can’t tell me that there’s not anyone better —” Nelson said of a candidate who could take Biden's place.Stephen Stubbs, an undecided voter at the event, criticized Biden’s “mental acuity.”“Who’s running the country?” Stubbs said of the presidential debate. “Let Kamala in!” he said of the possibility that Biden could step down and nominate Harris.

House Republicans, who have attempted for months to make Biden's age central to the campaign, on Friday floated calling on Biden's Cabinet to invoke the 25th Amendment and declare the Democratic incumbent unable to serve after his shaky debate performance, allowing Harris to assume the presidency. The 25th Amendment has never been invoked.

Of course, if Biden were to abandon plans for a second term Harris isn’t guaranteed the nomination because she is vice president. She's also hardly the only name people float as viable backup options, including California Gov. Gavin Newsom and Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer.

On X, formerly known as Twitter, Johanna Maska, a senior Democratic operative who was very loyal to Obama and Biden said Friday it was time for Biden to step aside. But she noticeably didn't include Harris in her list of potential alternatives.

RealClearPolling averages show that limited surveys suggest that Harris has an even bigger disadvantage than Biden if she were to run against Trump. The former president leads Harris by 6.6 percentage points, with 49.3 percent support to the Democrat's 42.7 percent. RealClearPolling's averages show Trump ahead of Biden by just 1.5 points, with 46.6 percent to the president's 45.1 percent.

Those polls were on Trump's mind Friday during the presumptive GOP nominee's first post-debate rally in Chesapeake, Va. There, he lumped Harris and former First Lady Michelle Obama into a group of possible replacements before noting, "It's hard to believe, but 'Crooked Joe Biden' polls better than those people."

Regardless of the names pundits speculate or lawmakers whisper about, the party could find it difficult to bypass the sitting vice president in favor of an untested candidate, said Bowdoin College government professor Andrew Rudalevige.

"It's kind of weird to jump over her for a bunch of people who have not been vetted on a national ticket. You know also, not for nothing, obviously, she's a woman of color, and women of color are the most energetic and loyal part of the Democratic Party base, and to skip over her for a Gavin Newsom or a white male I think would be pretty off putting to the parts of the base that the ticket would need most to energize," he said.

Still, Harris would need to quickly find a message that could resonate with voters. In the 2020 election cycle, Harris' presidential campaign flamed out before even getting through with 2019.

"That's the tough part, right?" Rudalevige said. "It can't simply be that you are more coherent."

Just over two weeks after the Democratic National Convention in late August, the two major party nominees are scheduled to meet again for the second, and last, presidential debate. And in that moment, the difference between Biden and Harris would be particularly clear.

Boston University Communications Professor Tammy Vigil, an expert on political rhetoric, said Harris' experience as a former prosecutor and San Francisco district attorney would be invaluable should she end up being the nominee who is debating a rival who has been impeached twice, indicted four times and convicted once.

"She would probably have Trump for lunch. She would definitely be able to hold him to account a lot more effectively then I think Biden was able to last night," Vigil said. "I think she has the skill sets and the experience to be able to be more effective at calling out Donald Trump's false statements and also then pivoting into the information that she wants to give."

so anyways in rain world there is a slug cat called artificer and artificer is red with a scar on one eye that prevents it from opening. and they can make bombs and stuff. More importantly though is that they had two kids. and lost both of them. so, they go on a murderous rampage to wipe out the species of creatures (called scavengers) that killed their kids and other stuff.

Therefore *puts Jack in artificer's role... sort of...* oh and the antimatter bomb is just a random thing I found in sandbox mode and played with. no clue where or what it is in the actual game.

Maxwell gets antimattered. Very sad.

Also the kids are all slugpups. I love slugpups so much they're so smol. hope nothing bad happens to them. (I haven't decided if Abigail technically gets to live. When the slugcats die in rain world, they wake up in a shelter each time (canonically) so the same thing should happen to her and Wendy? But also maybe she dies in the constant and becomes a ghost pup there. Idea I have for the au so far is that shadows still end up kidnapping Maxwell/William after he messes with their magic but the constant has a lot of rain world parts because Maxwell is a slugcat. Like lizards instead of hounds, rain that kills, etc.)

And Wilson! He is unremarkable aside from the fact that he adapted to grow thicker fur in cold areas.

How often would you say editors don't respond to submissions? Is there a point that I should be concerned that maybe my agent doesn't have the connections if it's happened on multiple submissions?

From my experience, in years past, there would often be an editor or two who just didn't respond on some submissions -- we call them "black holes" and they'd start to get a reputation in that regard, and they would stop getting submissions (or at least, we'd avoid them when we could!)

In recent years (like since the Pando, and now), I would not be surprised if there were editors who don't respond on EVERY submission. In other words, if I send a book to ten editors, I sort of am resigned to the fact that a couple, or maybe even several, might just never respond or have to be hounded to the ends of the earth for a response. (Even if I say "I HAVE AN OFFER" or "THIS IS GOING TO AUCTION" or something -- they are just... not gonna respond??????) -- This is NOT just me, btw, I have heard the same from many other agents. I have even had some submissions where *hardly anyone* responds, which is incredibly disheartening, though I think/hope that particular issue is still not so common.

Black-hole-ness happens so often actually that it's almost pointless to make a "black hole" note about it, because we'd have to black hole 9 out of 10 editors, and those editors are not ALWAYS black holes, so you don't want to take them off the lists, ARGH.

(Because I'm in playing-zelda mode, it reminds me of fighting a boss battle, where you figure out what the monster's weakness is, and you start to feel like you have a handle on how to beat it, and then suddenly halfway through they morph and get STRONGER and all kinds of OTHER monsters and laser-beams and whatnot start popping out of the woodwork???? WTF WHY, I WAS JUST FIGURING THIS OUT, I NEED STRENGTH!)

Point being -- if your agent has a track record of sales in your categories, they DO have the right connections, even if they aren't always getting responses or haven't sold YOUR book (yet!). Likewise, if they are newer and so don't really have a track record (yet!) but they are at a strong agency with a track record of sales in your categories, they DO have the right connections. If they have no track record of sales in your categories, and their agency likewise has no track record of sales in those categories, AND they aren't getting responses... maybe you need a different agent.

Final Fantasy XVI Review (No Spoilers Edition)

Welcome to my FFXVI Review No Spoilers Version! I will probably make a spoileriffic version later, but I hope people can use this to determine whether or not this game is a good investment for them.

In this case, "no spoilers" does include information from the demo. Because the demo is free.

What is it?

Final Fantasy XVI, or Final Fantasy XIV as Google insists it is when I look up anything about Final Fantasy XVI, is the sixteenth main number installment of the Final Fantasy series, released as a Playstation 5 exclusive. However, it does not require any previous knowledge or experience of the previous game series--actually more so than the other Final Fantasys. For better or worse.

It's an action combat game, one the gameplay director actually received assistance from other studios specializing in those sort of games, including PlatinumGames (from Nier: Automata) and the Kingdom Hearts development team (from...Kingdom Hearts).

The dramatic, emotional story has been inspired by Western dramas, including Game of Thrones. Taking place in a fantasy setting with magic and dragons and magic dragons, it seeks to blend the gritty nature of the power struggles of warring territories with the imaginative nature of magic, deities, and the type of scenery that can only exist in a fantasy.

What is it about?

Our victim protagonist is Clive Rosfield, the first son of the Duke of Rosaria. As the first son born to the union of Duke Elwin and his (hopefully distant) cousin/wife Anabella, Clive was expected to be a Dominant--the person who wields the power of the Eikon/local god Phoenix. When he is passed over of this as well as inheriting the duchy in favor of his sickly younger brother, Joshua, Clive dedicates himself to protecting Joshua.

But, because Square Enix produced this game, Clive can't have anything nice.

What follows is a story of tragedy, determination, betrayal, and ultimately love. As genre-savvy as I was, I still cried out of joy and sadness for Clive's journey. The characters are well written and the world building suits the narrative.

As suiting the M rating, this is...a mature narrative.

There's a lot going on in this story, and thankfully they incorporate an "Active Time Lore" button that can allow you to keep track of the most relevant info at all times.

High tier story. No complaints.

That said, there is one point in the story where we get a "Point of No Return". However, the game warns you before hand and only a few things are permanently missable.

Okay, how's the gameplay?

The game introduces you to two versions of the game when you start: Action-Mode which is the more traditional game-focused experience, and Story-Mode which is the more story-focused experience--meaning more accessible gameplay for combat.

That being said, in Action Mode, you still get access the the same accessories that simply gameplay, so you can switch/mix-and-match anytime you want.

With Story-mode gameplay, the combat is pretty simple: Just press Square. Clive will make combos, dodge...pretty much everything automatically. This is a great feature for those who do want to enjoy this as an interactive story--and there are people who do and that's alright.

With Action Mode gameplay, you need to think a little more since you'll be more direct in dodging, combo creation, and more--but not too much. You realize a lot of it is based on the powers you gain/develop and the combinations you create. No two gamers will probably have the same set, and you get to build a Clive that works best for you.

Either way, developing Clive's abilities thankfully isn't permanent! If you realize you put too much of your Ability Points in Column A when now you think it should be Column B, you're able to detract and add at your leisure. And you can switch between Action and Story modes too.

Also, and most importantly, Clive's hound "Torgal" joins you in your journey.

Torgal assists you in combat through the combination of AI as well as direct commands (or automatically inputted ones through helpful accessories). And he can get pets. Lots of pets. Because he is the goodest boy.

A la previous Final Fantasys, Clive will have the option to engage in sidequests that will start off as menial tasks and then have a 50/50 chance to make you feel all the things. At least you can pet Torgal through your problems.

Sounds good. What did you wish you knew before you played?

You may have heard a lot of hype about this Final Fantasy being open world. While this is technically correct, the world itself does want for something.

Now, to be fair, the narrative justifies the areas of the world that are lacking. There is a continental war going on, not to mention severe environmental hazards. Forgive the locals if building a mini-golf course isn't a priority.

What abilities do I need to level up to get an Odin one? haha sorry

Most of the landmarks exist to move the narrative along, introduce you to key characters, and explain the realities of the war and the economy. Let's just say that I understand the can of worms that would have happened if there were black people in this game.

Also, death is cheap. Really cheap. There are no penalties for dying--there aren't even trophies associated with not dying. So die and retry as much as you like.

I only have so much money. Should I be racing to buy this, or can I wait for a possible sale?

This is not a Day 1 sale that you'd regret. However, it's also not one that you would regret waiting for either. Unfortunately, I think being spoiled may take away the impact of some moments or scenes, and people are probably going to want to spoil things soon. If you're someone who likes a good story and hates being spoiled, I'd get this sooner rather than later.

Bonus Question: Is this a Final Fantasy? I hear people say it's not a true Final Fantasy.

There is a more spoiler-laded discussion to be had with this, but Final Fantasy has transcended the need for every game to be alike years ago. More than 2 decades ago in fact. Try playing Final Fantasy II after Final Fantasy I. Or Final Fantasy X then Final Fantasy XIV. It is very evident that there are threads that link them together, but so many things that set them apart.

In short, I do believe that this is a Final Fantasy. I believe that fans of Final Fantasy will enjoy this game. I believe that newcomers will enjoy this game. If you're interested and enjoy top tier stories and fun action combat, you'll enjoy this.

Oh Teen Wolf the movie just like hit and brought back all the nostalgia. 6 stunning wild crazy seasons of battling to survive to be brought back into the world once again as the movie that hits home.

Love and missed Allison, she truly was the anchor to Scott, their love story was tragic and hard to keep going bc of the way they ended things and how no matter the issues they both still loved each other even if there was someone else like Issac and Malia. When Crystal chose to leave and exit like she did in the show was a low blow, felt there could been more for them but her end brought new stories for Scott and I guess it helped to guide them as long as it could. I was more of a fan for Scott and Allison's plot also Derek I mean who doesnt love Tyler Hoechlin he was fun to watch alongside Tyler Posey when he was still with the show too. But actors leave and go on to do other things.

It was a bit fun watching all the old villains come together, Nagitsune, and the Oni and the pack coming back together to fight also seeing Derek who ended up having a teenage son. Lydia ever so smart and wise love her too. Jackson was a bit odd to see though lol his reasoning for coming back and still dating Ethan and such was funny bc to me he brought back the HS jock who just had an attitude issue but he and Lydia were good pair not the best compared to Scallison and Stydia, Stiles was dearly missed but the story still flowed without him there.

Jackson and Lydia having such lil funny moments and him that guy lol he barely had much lines but he still can give a persona a giggle or two when he speaks. Hes like Peter without the kill mode flare that Peter gives. Colton is a great actor but Jackson was not one of his many good roles per say even though it brought him to grow and do more in the movie it just was meh but he helped Lydia when she needed the strength to weep for her BFF Allison who was about to dye again.

Papa Argent and Mama McCall those two sassy loving parents, love them both so much even though Argent at first was such a douche in the show, in the beginning, he kind of became loveable when he decides to help Scott and he as an actor is such a cool guy love his other works. JR Bourn is just one of many of my favs since his appearance on Stargate sg1 yrs ago he's been fun to watch. Melissa Ponzio also such a sweet woman love her works on other shows to but being Mamma McCall is one of her best roles.

Derek really had it rough on the show and in the movie, Tyler just can make you cry when hes hurt but his end was such a tissue-needing moment especially when he looked at his son one last time and held Gerard Argent who survived the bite and such became the big bad at the end, Derek sacrificed himself to hold him in place while Parrish used his hell hound power to burn him to ash which also meant Derek wouldn't survive that so he died leaving his son in the hands of Scott to be taken care of. It was bittersweet knowing they would give Derek an ending like that since they showed all the amazing stuff Derek went through and how Stilinski talked during the flashback moments to Eli which gave a bit of comfort to him but there was also that guilt Eli i think carries bc he never got to learn much from his dad like he should have but when Derek told the reason Eli is the way he is was bc of a past trauma where his son saw him shift into the were coyote when his son was in danger of coyotes about to attack which left Eli frightened of what he learned would be his fate.

Malia, Peter, Mason, Deaton, and Hikari didnt really have much scenes being a movie based more around Scott, Derek, Allison, and Eli, they kind of had small moments of being whitty and there for Scott even though Peter of all ppl lol not as sure to why he was around I mean he didnt even think of stopping Derek he was litterally cold as ice to him even by blood. Deaton was more of a guide he helped the pack like he normally does, Mason not as sure even though he was Deputy it was maybe for cast wise and Malia gurl is still the same but she and Parrish well be damned they get something going on guess the breakup with Scott was meh to her lol.

But overall the movie was fun to watch and suspenseful and brought back the cast as much as they could and left it open for more Scott and Allison and Eli adventures down the road if and when Jeff comes up with another brilliant story to come up it.

If you have seen all 6 seasons of Teen Wolf it really brings back the old times and the future for more.

Metal: Hellsinger

Metal: Hellsinger is a rhythmic shooter, in which you play as the Unknown, a soul that had her voice stolen and now is slaying her way through the eight hells trying to get it back.

Of all the games I have played in 2024, Metal: Hellsinger has to be my favorite. I've been wanting to play it since release, unfortunately my previous potato couldn't handle it. Shooters never interested me that much but I really wanted to try this one because of the soundtrack and the rhythm-shooting concept, which I think it's brilliant. I loved it to bits and I'm playing it nearly every day, trying to get a better score on the leaderboard.

I have no words about the music in this game. All the tracks are amazing and I find myself listening to them constantly. "Dissolution", "This Devastation" and "Burial at Night" are my favorites, followed closely by "No Tomorrow", that definitely grew on me.

The rhythm mechanic was easy to adapt to and now I very much prefer to play without the rhythm indicator, just following the beat of the music, which is way less distracting. Some weapons also help make it easier to stay on the beat, like Paz and the dual revolvers. I usually go for Persephone and The Hounds.

It's a really fun game. You start shooting and then the music comes in bit by bit, then the vocals, and everything just blends in so perfectly. And it can get so frenetic at times. It's just so good, you know? I have no words to really describe it.

There's not much enemy variety, but I think it's enough for the game. My only complaint is that most of the boss fights, even though they have a few different mechanics, can feel a bit samey.

I'm also slowly going through Leviathan, the roguelite mode. It's fun but sometimes the altar's RNG f*cks you over like crazy and you're on wave 14 with just Paz and that damn sword. A few times now I've had to choose between getting Slaughter or a new weapon (I've learnt my lesson: always get the weapon).

Just earlier I was able to finally unlock Slaughter permanently, so that should make things easier from now on. Still, I think I would have liked it more if it was just a endless mode or something of the sort, instead of what we have now.

Anyway, this is what I have to say about the game for the moment. I love it and will continue playing it \m/
