ok actually I now remember why I don’t usually hang out on tumblr when it comes to enjoying or engaging with Loki material
every other post with hundreds/thousands of notes is “omg the queerbaiting” or “ugh they give us all these lokius scenes and then turn around and tell us Loki and Sylvie are in love” and I just feel like I’m on another planet from these people. like literally what show have they all been watching

I only just got into the Legend of Zelda series a few years ago with BotW, and I absolutely love it. But every time I play through one of the older games, I discover connections to the newer games and find myself baffled by how many people just like, actively refuse to interact with some of the lore.
Like, the Zelda community is such an amazing place for community theorizing and conspiracies, and the people involved are so smart and passionate about this stuff. But then the moment I try saying "Hey, I think the Ancient Robots from SS and all the glowing-green robots from TP might be related to the Zonai Constructs from ToTK"
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
or "Hey the ancient guardians from those astral-realm trials kinda look like the Zonai, and also have 3 eyes??"
Tumblr media Tumblr media
or "Hey, ancient mysterious flying islands with blocky Jomun-inspired architecture also appear in Twilight Princess and Four-Swords Adventures..."
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
"...Do we think the writers had this in mind for longer than we thought? Or maybe they're connecting older unanswered stories to try fleshing out the world's history?"
I'll definitely see a few people point these things out but then I see an overwhelming amount of people who just respond with "hmm. Nope. Can't." or "Stop putting so much thought into it it's not that deep."
Like omg who cares if it's not that deep? What happened to forcing Nintendo to retcon in the "three timeline" thing? Where's the pizzaz? Where's the imagination?
These games are so much fun to try connecting together

Me : well maybe it's not that bad?
Me : looking for radioapple art and immediately get hit with big buff Alastor and tiny shorter than in canon Lucifer, Lucifer in a dress getting fucked by Alastor, Lucifer in a dress getting fucked by big buff Alastor, Lucifer who look like 5 yo and 'suave sugar daddy' Alastor who holds him and each with thousands of likes and absolutely zero of anything else than that
Me : nope 🙃😔
Save me Vox/Al artists, save me
Man, I love Vox/Alastor art so much.
I just love the Vox/Alastor ship as a whole, be it one-sided, mutual, or anything in between, and a lot of it stems from Alastor still feeling like he's Alastor.
I mean, I think people make Alastor a little more cruel and heartless towards Vox sometimes, but overall he still feels like himself. He gets to be dangerous and manipulative and he gets to be silly and whimsical. It's perfect.
Adding a cut right here because this post got WAY longer than I anticipated ⬇️
I think with RadioApple, when it comes to Alastor, people lean too much into this:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And not enough into this:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
It feels like his fun, sassy, and whimsical side gets stripped away and he's turned into a stereotypically tall, dark and menacing love interest.
Where's his flamboyancy? His razzamatazz! As Susan would say, "Where's the showmanship? Where's the pizzaz? Fucking mediocre."
If I'm reading a fic or looking at art and I can't imagine their Alastor doing one of his girly-pop wrist flicks -
Tumblr media
- then I can't keep going. His girly-pop vibes are too important to me.
Of course, when it comes to tone in both fics and art, sometimes fun and whimsical aren't what the artist is going for. But even outside of NSFW art and stories, so often Alastor just feels...bland. He feels too stiff. Too much like a suave, old fashioned, smooth talking gentleman, and not enough like a fun, silly, and sassy little freak who loves trolling people.
And with Lucifer if feels like they lean too much into this:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And not enough of this:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I feel like any, if not all, of Lucifer's flaws are brushed aside so often and so easily.
He feels softened and watered down. Like he's either a sad & awkward UwU boi all the time, or he's the most flamboyant, seductive little minx there is. And to be fair, he is both a very sad boi and a seductive little minx.
But rarely does he ever come across as powerful to me. A lot of the time he feels too normal. Or too sad and naive. Literally, like he could be any other sinner if I didn't already know he was the kind of Hell. And that's so funny to me because we've seen him openly and extravagantly display his powers multiple times in the show--not to the extent that he did in the finale--but he was definitely flaunting all the things he could do, make, or summon for Charlie during his musical-battle with Alastor. He was 100% showing off how powerful he is.
Not only that, but, honestly, Lucifer feels too open and sincere because that man is judgmental as fuck.
Going back to the "Dad Beat Dad" episode, there are multiple examples of him being a self-righteous little shit: 1) he was incredibly critical of Charlie's hotel the moment he stepped inside, even if he tried, and failed, to cover it, 2) he didn't even try to hide his disgust for Alastor's bar, which he didn't even know was incorporated by Alastor (who he hadn't even met him yet) and could've been incorporated by Charlie or Vaggie, for all he knew, 3) he wasn't taking Charlie's hotel or her plan for redemption seriously from the start, he didn't even have his mind open to the possibility, he wasn't there to hear about her plans he was only there to see her, and 3) when the hotel was attacked by the loan sharks, instead of making them go away or preventing the hotel from being damaged - which he could have very easily done with no amount of effort - he hung back and smugly reiterated that he was right and sinners can't be redeemed and Charlie should just give up on her goals/dreams because it's just not possible so there's no point in trying.
Like, Charlie was very clearly in distress over her hotel being attacked and destroyed, but he was too busy boasting about how he'd been "proven" right to see that.
He's very easy to anger and his ego is so easily bruised. Alastor got under his skin immediately and effortlessly - though I also believe that's on part that Lucifer doesn't have a high opinions of sinners anyway - and Lucifer 100% escalated the conversation/argument he had with Alastor during their first meeting.
See the whole scene of him referring to Alastor as a "has-been" and insulting the name he'd given the hotel, especially when you take into consideration that until Alastor said that he named the hotel, Lucifer thought it was Charlie who came up with it.
And I'm not going to say that Alastor was an innocent, picked on little baby in that scene, he was 100% riling up Lucifer from the start, but also, like...Alastor's lines weren't outright antagonist like Lucifer's were. They were more subtle, slightly needling and passive aggressive, but nothing that could really be taken as a insult.
This is literally the dialogue, word for word, of their very first interaction:
Lucifer: What in the unholy Hell is that?!
Alastor: Just some of the renovations we had done. Adds a bit if color, don't you think?
Lucifer: And you are?
Alastor: Alastor, pleasure to be meeting you, Sir, quite a pleasure. It's nice to finally put a face to the name. You are much shorter in real life.
Lucifer: Who is this? Who is this now - are you the bellhop?
Alastor: Ah-ha, no! I am the host of the hotel. You might've heard of me from my radio broadcast.
Lucifer: Hmm, nope! I guess that's why Charlie called it the "has-been" hotel, hahaha!"
Alastor: Ha ha ha, it was actually my idea.
Lucifer: Ha ha, well it's not very clever.
Alastor: Ha ha, fuck you.
Like. That's their first interaction. And if you go back and actually pay attention to facial expressions and body languages, this was the first time he's seen Alastor, and Lucifer was immediately disdainful.
I went back and screenshotted Lucifer's face, right after Alastor's first line (which was a relatively innocent in and of itself and didn't even sound that antagonist), and:
Tumblr media
That's a lot of disesteem for someone he literally just met. At most, you could argue that it was Alastor's smirk or tone that set him off ⬇️:
Tumblr media
But even that is such a small thing to get upset over.
I'd say the only time Alastor really started getting openly hostile towards Lucifer was when he wiped his hand after shaking Lucifer's cane (which Lucifer didn't even see as he was too busy fixing his hat) and commenting on Lucifer's height (as a shortie myself, can confirm, that'll get on the nerves very fast).
My point is, Lucifer was immediately unfriendly towards Alastor and escalated the situation just as quickly, if not quicker, than Alastor did. Alastor implied that Lucifer might know of his radio broadcast, and Lucifer jumped right to calling him a "has-been." He doesn't even know him. This is their very first meeting. He was judgy and dismissive of Alastor at first sight, and, let's be honest, he kind of threw the first punch with that "has-been" line. Alastor said Lucifer was shorter than expected, but it's not like he laughed, pointed at him and called him a undercooked little chicken nugget. I'm sure a lot of demons/sinners who've never seen Lucifer would also assume he would be taller and more menacing at first glance, and I doubt this is the first time someone was surprised with his height (still not cool, Alastor. We vertically challenged folk have feelings too).
But Lucifer was prejudice from the start and antagonized Alastor just as quickly, and way more openly, than Alastor did to him. And don't get me wrong, this isn't me saying that's a bad thing on Lucifer's part! This isn't me criticizing or scorning him for it. I think it speaks so much of him as a character!
Cause we've seen the soft and tender moments he has with Charlie. We know how much he loves and cares for her. But he's also egotistical, antagonistic, and judgmental as hell, and that's what makes him such a fun character to write about. He's awkward yet showy, smug yet caring, depressed yet prideful. And by god, this man will show off his power without hesitation. He knows he's hot shit. He knows he's the strongest person in all of Hell. He knows he's the top dog and he can do whatever he wants - even if he has no love or interest in interacting within the Pride Ring (as far as we've been shown).
He's got a lot of multi-facets to him and I adore it, and that's why I get so annoyed when all of that is stripped away and he's turned into this soft little sunshine UwU boi who's just a sad, sweet lil lamb who's done no wrong.
No! He has done many wrongs! There's a reason he and Charlie were estranged and I don't think it was Lilith's fault - or, at least, I don't think it was all her fault (I have many thoughts about Lucifer and Lilith's divorce, okay)
I didn't mean for this to turn into a full-blown character analysist post LOL but alas I tend to get carried away. This was all to say, I really enjoy RadioStatic because Alastor typically gets to keep his sadistic and whimsical side, and I appreciate that. His silliness means a lot a to me, and if he comes off as too stiff or formal, it takes me out of a story.
Lucifer's flaws and sheer power also mean a lot to me, and I wish there were more fics and fan-art that showed that. If Lucifer reads too much like a normal, every-day person, I lose interest. I like the idea of people getting used to him, and getting comfortable around his presence, only to get a sudden and overwhelming reminder that he is, in fact, an ancient and immortal being with immense power that their brains wouldn't even be able to comprehend.
I have so many headcanons about Lucifer as a fallen angel and how his habits and lifestyle developed over the thousands upon thousands of years he's been in Hell. Habits he's adopted that unconsciously help him duplicate the mannerisms and behavior of sinners and demons, but also those small, indistinct tells that are quick and subtle reminder that he could destroy everyone in Pentagram City with ease if he decided to; and also, those times if you were to look closely and really pay attention, you get the faint, unsettling feeling that there is something very un-human about him. A subtle, unnerving shiver down your spine as your instincts yell at you that this person is not a person at all, he's just passing off as one.
That shit gets me. Give me ancient, eldritch Lucifer and I'll love you forever.
I am sorry Anon, I did not mean for this response to get so big 😅 You gave me a paragraph and I gave you a novel. But yeah, save me RadioStatic artists, save me 🙏 I rarely have to worry about Alastor turning into a big, buff alpha man or a soft little UwU when he's with Vox, and I appreciate that.
Edit: Adding a screenshot of my tags here because apparently I wrote down too many and it cut off the character tags.

A maladaptive daydreaming endgame would be the most boring, dry, anticlimactic, and nonsensical endgame possible. There’s no arc. There’s no stakes. There’s nothing to look forward to. There’s no pizzaz. There’s no mystery. They have no goals. They aren’t building towards anything. Plus, there’s a giant, unanswered, blue and yellow coded, bowlcut-shaped elephant standing in the middle of their storyline.
Tumblr media
Like, push aside the minutiae of the shipping war for a second. Push aside the debate over Mike’s sexuality. Macy's Day Parade staying together and finally being a happy couple in Season 5 is a genuinely absurd concept because they have no momentum. And that in and of itself is so incriminating. Yes, on a surface level (boy protagonist makes grand confession love monologue to girl protagonist, wooo, romance go brr) level, I suppose one could think they do. But they do not. Where are they going, narratively? What do Mike and El like doing together for fun? Brodie made a whole monologue and that answer is still a giant question mark. What are their shared hopes for the future?
Tumblr media
They have none. Even without being in the same state, it’s clear why Duzie is into each other. Lumax, Jancy, Jopper, and Rockie all are building towards something. Even a hypothetical STANCY revival has more of a raison d’être. Love them or hate them, they do fall into tropes of rekindling old sparks, and Steve’s pitch was rooted in how much he’s changed and what his hopes are for his future- which he sees Nancy in (even if Nancy’s future goals don’t actually align). And for El, it’s clear that saving Max is her priority. So even Elmax has more momentum than Mlvn.
Tumblr media
For Migration Pattern, it’s like Mike finally did the thing, finally said ILY, finally confessed his apparently undying love for his superpowered girlfriend (in the penultimate season, I might add, which is never a good sign), only for there to be crickets. It’s like okay… and now what?
Tumblr media
No one knows. It doesn’t feel right. Mike finally did everything El asked of him, finally (allegedly) explained why he couldn’t say it before, and it’s narratively unsatisfying in every possible way. Not only this, but this is not your imagination playing tricks on you. These aren’t Byler shipping goggles. The show goes out of its way to emphasize that Mike and El aren’t on speaking terms, which is an odd choice for a couple entering their endgame era. And everyone has lost. Nothing is in a good place. It’s all a mess. Max is in a coma. It’s a nightmare. Yeah, it’s not looking good for Minotaur Endgame.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“But you don’t get it, Bitcoin! They're saving her response to Mike’s monologue for Season 5. They do have something to look forward to. You just don’t like it.” Okay… and what do they expect her response to be? “Oh Mike, my darling loverboy, I love you so. l'm glad you see me as a superhero. And I’m so glad you fell in love with me in the woods. I love you too. Let’s make out and eat eggo waffles forever.” And then what?
They also expect Mike to just start saying I Love You a lot more often? They expect them to finally be on the same page and have meaningful heart-to-hearts? They expect him to suddenly show interest in what she likes instead of gritting his teeth and acting awkward?
Tumblr media
They expect Mlvn to glide off into the sunset as if any of their structural problems have been resolved? Despite the fact that Will’s thinly veiled love confession/ the painting lie was the whole catalyst for the monologue in the first place? That just doesn’t make sense? Like, objectively.
Tumblr media
But know who does have momentum? Miwi. Byler arguably has the strongest momentum going into Season 5 of any couple or would-be couple. They have romantic momentum, friendship momentum, individual character arc momentum, and narrative momentum. The cinematography makes that crystal-clear.

Breakdown of that one Down and Out Scene
I was bored and decided to breakdown the getting back together scene between the devil and king dice in down and out.
First off in the scene is the devil and henchman walking to the hellevator but as they’re about to go down the devil stops henchman from closing the door all the way when he notices king dice walking by.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The devil then stops king dice in his tracks with one hand and king dice looks at him very hopefully. I also noticed a slight shift in music as the devil touches king dice and dice looks back at him.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Then as the devil says that King dice failed him dice gives the most sad/ashamed look I have ever seen him give. Like the sadness in his eyes is so sincere he really hates that he failed his boss.
Tumblr media
Then as the devil is begging King Dice to come back, he says that he needs his glitz, his pizzaz, his razzle dazzle. In other words, he needs King Dice, and he makes life fun for him.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Then probably my favorite part of this scene and the one most people talk about is the part where King Dice accepts the devil’s proposal to come work for him again. When King Dice accepts he pushes the devil off of him, and as he’s doing so the devil eyes follow King dice’s hands as they’re pushing his away. I also want to point out that King Dice seems completely surprised by the devil asking him to come back.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Then as the devil waits for Dice’s response, he looks uncharacteristically nervous as he rubs his hands, shrinks in on himself, he seems almost shy as he waits for what King Dice s gonna say.
Tumblr media
I wanted to do this for a while so I thought I would do it. Also I loved this episode and hope they tell us if the show is renewed or not so we can see them interact again.

Rtd1 wasnt great at series long arcs/resolutions, but the heart of his era imo was the characters and their grounded relationships and dynamics. Some of my fave scenes of his era are when the doctor and companion are disagreeing, even arguing !! Theres a reason why donna is so many peoples faves bc she challenges him constantly. Rose and 9 fighting in fathers day, martha like "oh what does that make u some kinda dalek??" The doctor telling jack he senses something Wrong about him like. Its juicy!!!! Its good !!!! Its fun that ruby and 15 can have a laugh together but wheres the FLAVOUR... theyve had 4 eps now i need some tension... some pizzaz... boom fucked but why was ruby acting like clara at the end of s9 when shes been in the show 3 episodes it feels unearnt !!! Like im fine with rtd stepping away from rtd1 era grounded family tied to earth etc etc but at the cost of the main dynamic... idk its odd they get on too well, off the back of chib era companions being yes men the minimum i wanted from rtd2 was some interesting companion/dr dynamic... we r nearly halfway thru the series get a shift on!!!

the thing is though that i watch supernatural in two ways: i have a chronological rewatch (currently on 2.13) as well as a free-for-all rewatch on a basis of which kind of episode i feel like watching at that moment that's alao one i haven't seen in a while. i get scared of overplaying episodes to the point where they lose their pizzaz, so even though i might have 'comfort episodes' i don't have any particular episode that i watch more than others. i also watch j2 panels as like supernatural comfort away from supernatural lmfao

SYNODIC REBOOT
This one I’ve very excited about, because Syndonic Reboot looks like. It’s got Style. It’s got flair. It’s got, a unique spin on things. It’s got FURRIES, which is always at least an indication that no matter what, the art is going to have some PERSONALITY. Which this does, already, and also, the design of the main species is charming and unique, and stands out against the other troll look-a-likes.
Oh, this one’s got some real legs to it. I’m having a lot of fun with this one, which always feels good, to feel like the author knows how to entertain an audience.
Okay, I don’t have many notes on this one, mainly because the required pages I had to read was very short, but who cares. Because now I can say this was yet another fanadventure where I had to stop reading and move on and I went “AWWW, REALLY?”
And that. Is a good sign. Check this one out; it’s got some spunk and flair and pizzaz and all that stuff I was saying earlier!

idk if this is just me but, how do you make your works more...wordy? like you know how certain pieces of literature has a beautiful way of explaining things like love, hurt, remorse, etc. do I really need to pull out a dictionary to reach this?
Advice Incoming
Hi! Thank you for sending in your question and apologies for the delay!
I would say, don’t worry about this till you’ve at least finished your first draft! I always say the first draft is to write down your ideas and make sure they are coherent enough. Once you’ve completed the first draft you can go over and elaborate on your sentences.
As far as how to create eloquent phrasings and sentences; I think it just comes with practice and definitely having a broad vocabulary range, but even then, it’s not always the greatest to add flourish and pizzaz to your writing if it’s not necessarily or hard to understand.
I’ve seen some writers try and be a bit over the top with their their phrasing to the point where I don’t understand what it is they are trying to say anymore. I call this frou-frou writing or purple prose, as some call it.
Sometimes less is more!
But if you do want to write beautiful prose, you should
a). practice! Practice makes perfect as I always say.
b). keep a dictionary or thesaurus near by, as it will definitely help!
c). don’t overstress. If you can’t find the right word or phrasing you want that’s okay! Sometimes saying a simple, “I love you” is far more effective than, “I will trudge and storm through the ends of the earth and pull the seas apart and lower the stars so that everyday when you see the…” blah, I don’t even know what I was trying to say but it was supposed to mean, “I love you.”
d). workshop you’re writing. It’s best to get feedback from peers and they can provide advice or let you know exactly what you need or need to adjust.
I just hope in the end you’re having fun and having the right amount of stress for your story!
I hope this helps and answers your question!

It was my first time doing anything like this and it was pretty fun and challenging directing people and running the this!
(Which btw is separate from my own Patreon, where I just normally post stuff there early like ANOTHER MIZROX ANIMATIC WOW GUYS WHO KNEW which just more or less acts like a tip jar/sharing my work b4 it goes live because social media algorithms woo, please make sure when you sign up that you are signing up to correct one)

Chapter 9
In the foggy town, Winston mopes on his lonesome. Not even bothering to use his umbrella, he lets the rain get rid of his tears.
Gale: W-Winston! Wait up!
Winston: Gale? Whaddya doing here? You’re gonna get wet like this.
Gale: I wanted to cheer you up! You looked pretty down ever since Mr. Kappel came over.
Winston: Oh, thanks, I guess.
Gale: Ah! Look! That toy shop is open, can we go inside?
Gale looks at Winston with a familiar sparkle the actor remembers from his days of childhood.
Winston: Y’know what? Sure. And if you find something you like, I’ll buy it!
Gale: Really? Let’s head in then!
The two head into the tiny toy shop, where Gale looks at the stuffed animals and toy robots covering the shelves. As they look around, Winston bumps into a tower stocked with little dolls.
Winston: Ack!
As the dolls fall down, Winston darts left and right catching each one. By the time he’s saved each one, he’s posed in an extremely odd manner.
Gale: Pfft , ahaha! What kind of pose is that? You look like a tilted tower!
Winston: Heh, you’re kinda right! The doll on my head even looks like a flag!
Shopkeep: Hey! What are you guys doing back there?!
Both: Nothing!
The two giggled as they put the toys back. Gale picked out a make-your-own kite kit.
Gale: That was fun! Thank you again for the kite.
Winston: Ehh, no problem! I didn’t expect you to buy a kite kit, though.
Gale: There’s a chance the skies might clear one day, I can feel it! Plus, it reminded me of something funny.
Winston: Oh, and what’s that?
Gale: Aha, well, Zackery sends us recordings of your guy’s practices all the time. When it gets stormy like today, me and my siblings like to watch them or even reenact them!
The rain, although still falling, begins to slowly let up.
Gale: I remember watching the one where you and big bro were figuring out how to “fly” on stage using metal wires. We couldn’t stop laughing watching you two flail around like chickens!
The child giggles, much to Winston’s reddening face as he recalls the performance.
Winston: Y-you’re point?
Gale: But… I guess what I’m trying to say is, me and my siblings don’t need all that fancy pizzaz Zackery mentioned when talking about the Spring Fair. Yeah, it’d be cool to go to a carnival, but I’m also just fine getting to see my big bro and one of my biggest role models in the same week!
The two arrive back at the park, where Zackery awaits just as he promised.
Gale: But, it’s not fun seeing either of you get sad, especially in this stormy town. So please, make up!

also because everyone was clearly wondering (sarcasm), here's my loz opinions so far:
A Link to the Past: Very good, can definitely see why it got as popular and influential as it did. Really loved exploring the overworld and the dungeon designs were strong. Unfortunately I am bad at video games and this game made me use an invincibility cheat and also clown music (to avoid gamer rage) to get through it. Like it was a genuine hit to my self esteem. So yeah I could've enjoyed it more than I did.
Link's Awakening DX: Perfect 10/10 no notes (lie). OK I feel like this game in many respects feels kinda unpolished; maybe it's just bc I was emulating it but some of the controls were a goddamn nightmare and I didn't find most of the dungeons particularly memorable. That said, the VIBES in this game are immaculate. From the Mario/Kirby cameos to the setting and story this game is deeply charming. Though I have my issues with it, I find the story a lot more compelling than I have so far in the other games, though obviously that could change once I get to the entries that focus more on their story. Also Marin is my daughter and I am obsessed with her.
Oracle of Ages: The dungeon designs in this one were surprisingly strong imo; this game has my fave dungeons of the series so far, and some of the items (like the seed shooter and mermaid's tail) are really fun. Unfortunately I found the rest of it pretty mid. Like it's still good, don't get me wrong, but it lacks the pizzaz that A Link to the Past and Link's Awakening both had. The story is very generic and I don't find any of the NPCs particularly compelling. Labrynna as a setting just doesn't grab me. The time traveling gimmick isn't particularly interesting to me, especially since I have a sneaking suspicion Ocarina of Time is just gonna do it better. It's not bad but I can see why it's one of the more forgotten LOZ titles.
Oracle of Seasons (so far): I haven't even gotten to the second dungeon yet so grain of salt lmao but I'm enjoying it much more than Oracle of Ages. I find the changing seasons gimmick a lot more interesting, the setting, story, and NPCs so far more fun than in Ages, and (although this is not Ages fault in the slightest and works in its favour), the connecting games gimmick is really coming into play now and it's fun.
Breath of the Wild (so far): I'm pretty solidly in the mid game I think? I have thirteen hearts, two extra thingies of stamina, the entire map is unlocked, I've acquired the Master Sword, I have about half of the photo memories, I've killed the big metal lizard and am set to kill the big metal bird and big metal elephant at any point I'd like to. I've been playing it off and on in between the other games bc this one and its sequel are much longer than the others and have a different formula. Anyway. The world is very impressive and beautiful, I think some of the story elements (the ones playing with the typical destiny angle) and Zelda as a character are very interesting, and this game's addictive in the sense that I can easily play it for like eight hours on accident. That said I don't think the shrines and koroks are particularly fun to get, which is a problem because they're probably the most important progression mechanics in the game, and it made especially the early game feel like kind of a slog. This game also drives me up the fucking WALL with its storytelling and worldbuilding because both are just woefully inadequate and it's INSANE to me because at several points they show that they CAN do it well they just. Don't. Most of the time. I had to cut an entire rant about how much it annoys me where I actually source these claims bc it singlehandedly made this post twice as long as it is now, so source: just trust me bro. It drives me INSANE and it's a serious damper on my enjoyment of the game.

They do the same thing with intelligence and that bothers me also lol
YES!!! people act like intelligence is a binary and you either have it or you don't is insane to me?!? Way to be boring?? I always notice this when its always the same character bringing up facts whether they be about any field of science or history or whatever. In a general narrative that's fine - you can have a characyer that's a trivia buff. but it can be frustrating when you have so many intelligence distinct characters. Having a cast of intelligent characters who understand the world and exploring how they fight with and against each other is SO much more interesting than "smart person knows everything the end".
Where's the pizzaz? Where's the realization that the different perspectives of characters will form their actions as much as their intelligence? Why have one character know all the facts about all the science when you can have different characters enjoying different fields or having experience in them?
If you're talking information, give me Dick as an expert in European medieval art and architecture because of his time at the Cloisters, but Duke studied a particular artist once for three months so he knows way more about one specific painting, but Dick can provide historical context! Give me Damian with insane in depth knowledge on one specific protein because he wrote a PhD on it, while Bruce has more general understanding about what proteins exist and Babs being more comfortable with the mathematical theory behind it.
If you're talking problem solving, give me 10 characters approaching a problem a different intelligent way and finding innovative solutions that all work! Give me a character who is more flexible thriving in situation and one that has a more analytical approach thriving in another! Give me characters making plans and realizing they hadn't accounted for something someone else spotted, and things get perfected!
Have fun with intelligent characters!! Add personality! Explore their interests!

So omegaverse-slash-A/B/O might be inherently trans-exploratory(“male omegas” and “female alphas” etc) but are we ever gonna talk about how inherently mysogynistic/ omega-istic it is (misogynistic because omegas affectively take the role of afab)?
So many stories are “[character] always hated their omega designation/second gender…” or “[character] trying to survive/escape from persecution for being an omega.” Don’t even get me started on whatever the fuck has been happening on Wattpad, OR how you’re-in-heat-so-you-must-want-it the genre is. A large portion also includes a lot of sexual violence.
Note: I did NOT say all stories are like this.
Omegaverse is fun and cute but really only for the (pack) fluff, imho.
It’s a fantasy world and like a lot of others, we’re just choosing to make it This Earth adjacent? C’mon. Where’s the pizzaz! The advantage of the new avenues to explore! How entire communities can and should be explored in an alternate universe in which there’s every reason for close knit groups!
Again, I’m not gatekeeping and demanding every omegaverse story to be fluffy and pure and 7+ TM, I’m bringing it up because it’s a M A J O R I T Y of them. The “market” is flooded with this noncon, disgusting ass, also often pedo, shit!
Asking for a friend.
