the viscount who loved me is such a fun, romantic and ridiculous book because, at the heart of it all, the greatest conflict in the story is Anthony Bridgerton realizing that he's in love with his wife and i just think it's hilarious

Randy Oliver has a lot of good information about beekeeping, but listening to his videos is like a constant barrage of "be relaxed, the bees don't want to sting you! I don't even wear a veil because they're so gentle. Personally I get stung about 200 times a year. An experienced beekeeper doesn't need protective equipment because they know how to handle the bees to not get stung. But being a beekeeper means you WILL get stung constantly, so get used to it. As long as you avoid triggering defensive behavior, the bees won't attack! I've been stung thousands of times and anything above the neck is the most painful."
Like Randy. Buddy. My friend. What exactly is the takeaway I'm supposed to be getting from this because I am receiving some, let's say, mixed messages.

Like that is Eddie covered in bees (shudder) I’m assuming during the call at the perfume launch thingy where we’ve seen him running with his bee net on!
It’s also making my brain itch!!
#Eddie covered in bees like that is making me itchy#but also - the metaphor is not lost on me#actually there are several metaphors#the idea of being covered in bees and thus being stung repeatedly - much like Eddie has been stung repeatedly by life#the idea that bees only sting when under threat - Eddie blowing up his life could be seen as him stinging because he feels under threat#in part because of his familbut mostly from himself - his subconscious is fighting against him - related to his dawning queer awakening#plus there is also the fact that the reaction to being stung is a delayed one - yes you might feel the initial sting#but the reaction develops over time as the body reacts and tries to expel or neutralise the bee venom#this is a massive metaphor for Eddie - the delayed reactions he’s had to many things in his life but in particular to buck coming out as bi#he felt the initial sting but claimed it wouldn’t change anything only now he’s reacting to that sting - the swelling and pain is happening#and that will lead to recovery - it all plays into the queer Eddie narrative very nicely#because when you get stung by a bee you think it won’t be that bad - but it’s always worse and more itchy than you think#I’m not being remotely coherent about this at all#I might come back to it tomorrow!#911 spoilers#eddie diaz#911 abc#bee theory

ok so you know how maddy tells the family in the car to be a statue so the bees don’t sting them…that’s excatly what i was taught too, and i kinda think if i saw the swarm i would just stay aggressively still (i’ve had a bee literally crawl on my eyelid before will i was standing so incredibly still) instead of running away because you are more likely to be stung and i’m kinda terrified of being stung…..

my classmates will go thru 6 hours of class the day after a long excursion through the countryside and then just get up and go run around in town for hours going to movies and shopping and whatever and I'm just sitting here like Aren't you all exhausted . Aren't you all sore and pained. Where are you getting this energy. Can we calm down
#if nothing else this trip has really opened my eyes to how much chronic pain/fatigue does impact my life compared to others#i dunno I guess I just never really noticed. but I just don't have the energy other people do. Not even close. Not even a little bit#I go through a day of class and relish in the thought of spending the rest of my day resting because the agony in my legs#and the unbearable tiredness I feel just beckons me to collapse into bed#but everyone else is just so . energized. and ready to explore. and wanting to run all over the place and do 1 million things all the time#and this is normal? this is how normal people are? Because I'm the only one out of my entire class who seems to be the opposite#everyone just has so much energy. and I Do Not have that energy. I had to stand for most of the past three hours and it's taken me out#for the day i'll be honest. but everyone else just seems so undaunted#and it sucks because i'd love to hang out with these people and join them and whatever but when I do force myself along i'm just so tired#and so pained that all my responses are either dry or i don't say anything at all. i'm just completely out of spoons but I hang on because#i Hate the feeling of being left behind#oh well. eye-opening experience I guess#vent#<- it became that so yeah I'm tagging it#clamtalk#and also? my bee sting? instead of backing away and feeling disgust, I now just ask them "wth are they doing in my house and pls leave in an orderly manner or I will run out of the room, pls and ty?" they are being kinda rude so far and they ignore me, but I did my part. also I'm not leaving the room until they get too close or start their erratic movements so it's progress

#spiders#joro spider#jorogumo#arachnids#spider web#autumn#autumn aesthetic#halloween#my photography#they’ve taken over my area and my brain#I adore them ok? they’re so lovely#and so gentle#obvi like. don’t go picking them up and such if you don’t want to get bitten#but despite their size these spiders have small fangs that can rarely actually pierce human skin#and when they do their venom is light#it would feel like a bee sting#even in scientific study where scientists are purposefully bothering them they just. refuse to even bite#they’re so sweet and intelligent. they’d rather move their whole web if they feel like they’re in an unsafe place or being bothered#and their webs! their webs can be 5-10 feet long!!#and look at that golden silk. it’s so beautiful in the mornings and evenings with the sunlight shining on them#they’re lovely little creatures and I have developed an obsession with them#I get sad when I notice one is gone and has moved somewhere I can’t watch her#I worry about them and hope they’re safe#look how huge that one at the top is! she’s so full of eggs! she’s the biggest in the yard and she has two husbands!#I’m just so in love with Jorō spiders ok
