HOW TO RECOGNIZE REPOSTED GIFS/EDITS
lately, i’ve been seeing a huge rise in reposts of gifs and edits, and of spreading those reposts. i don’t think it’s a malicious thing at all from people who reblog them, but it’s important to be able to spot them in the future so that we can stop perpetuating this kind of behavior. so without any further ado, here are a few ways to recognize reposted gifs and edits. please keep in mind that it’s usually a combination of a few of these factors, and that one of them being present doesn’t necessarily mean the post is DEFINITELY a repost. be smart, but also be vigilant!
1. non-matching watermarks a watermark is a (usually) small/unobtrusive placing of the gifmaker/editor’s url or username somewhere on the gif. for example, here’s a gif i made; you can see my tumblr url, bringmoreknives, very lightly in the upper left corner.

now, just because you see a post from a blog with a different url than the one in the watermark doesn’t necessarily mean it’s a repost. editors and gifmakers change their urls, just like everyone else does. however, the watermark is a good place to start. you can always go to that original url and see if you can trace them to the blog that posted the post in question. and if you’re an editor, make sure you watermark your shit and leave a clear trail to your new blog -- i have redirect pages set up on all my old urls, all the way back to when i first made this blog in 2013. 
2. mismatched gifs or edits being posted together, or media being posted in an awkward way in my opinion, this is the best indicator of reposts. oftentimes, because they don’t make the content themselves, reposters don’t understand the logic of making a cohesive gif or edit set, and so will cram a bunch of random gifs/edits of different sizes, video qualities, and psds/effects together into one post. they also might post gifs that were meant to be side by side on top of each other or vice versa, resulting in a reduction of quality and everything looking super pixel-y. 
in a post, this will look like:
dramatically different colorings on gifs being posted side by side (not just, like, one or two black and white gifs in a clear color scheme, but one sepia-toned, one original colored, one extremely lightened, etc)
parts of some images being cut off due to different image dimensions
media from a bunch of different events, appearances, episodes, etc. that isn’t tied together by a common theme
3. use of tumblr mobile “fonts” in the caption this is a super obvious one, imo. again, on its own it’s not necessarily a giveaway, but i don’t know any editor who posts original gifs from their phone, simply because you need photoshop to make them, and therefore the files will be on your computer.
4. captions that comment on the content, or a lack of caption at all lack of a caption is less indicative of a repost than an odd caption is. but reposters often caption their reposted comment with something relatively irrelevant, like “omg he’s so cute” or something. additionally, many original posts will have a link to the video source in the caption -- so if everything else checks out AND there’s a source linked, it’s probably fine. (again, lack of a linked video source is not a marker of a repost: tumblr recently changed the rules where any post with an external link won’t show up in tags, so many creators leave off source links now.) also, worth mentioning that people DO often repost with the caption “not my gif/edit/pic,” and this is a great reminder that that is not an acceptable alternative to simply REBLOGGING  POST FROM THE ORIGINAL SOURCE.
5. lack of a tag to indicate that the work is the poster’s own creators will often have tags for all of their original content. this can be anything from “mine,” “my stuff,” etc. to a series of asterisks or other punctuation marks that aren’t likely to be used for anything else. additionally, many creators will prominently display a link to this somewhere on their blog, if they have a custom theme. if a post doesn’t have some kind of tag indicating ownership that you can click on and browse to see more original content, that can be a major red flag.
6. crosstagging/adding irrelevant tags reposters want to get their posts seen, reblogged, and liked by as many people as possible. they thrive off clout for stuff they didn’t make. therefore, they have a tendency to add a SHITLOAD of tags that don’t really have anything to do with the actual subject matter. for example, if it’s mcr reposts, they might tag all of the band members, even if they’re not all featured, all of the album names, a ton of bands in the same musical circles, and even instagram-esque hashtags like “cute,” “emo,” “scenecore,” etc.
and there you have it -- here are some of the ways i know to spot reposts from seven years as a creator on this site. you get better at it the more time you spend in a fandom, because you’ll recognize content that popularly gets reposted, and also just learn to have a trained eye for this sort of thing. but until you reach that stage, i hope that this helps. please reblog to spread the word, and don’t be afraid to call out reposters, with links to the original post if you can find it, because creators on this site have a hard enough time as it is. and feel free to add anything else you use to spot reposts!

"ONE MORE POSE FOR ME!"

"And another one!"

"Alright!" Y/N exclaimed and removed her Canon 90D DSLR camera from her right eye. "That's it for today, guys! Great job everyone!" shouted once more and looked at the photos that she took from the monitor of the computer.
She was doing a photoshoot for one of the famous magazine companies, The Hollywood Reporter. She was one of the photographers for the magazine company for almost a year already. She surely was so happy to receive a call way back a year ago before that she was hired. And, she surely was so happy to pursue what she dreamed of.
"Great shots, Y/N. Great as always." Someone said from behind her and Y/N could just smile at the compliment.
"Thank you, Millie." She said and looked at Camille. Camille became a fashion designer like how she always wanted to be. She worked alongside Y/N in several photoshoots just this year, coincidentally.
"Want to grab some coffee on the way home?" Camille asked as she prepared her purse and placed it on her shoulder.
"Sure," Y/N said and got the hard drive that was plugged into the computer since all of the photos were there. Not only was she a photographer but also one of the editors for the magazines. "But after that, I gotta go somewhere."
"Are you gonna go to that place again?" Camille asked and Y/N looked at her and nodded as an answer. They walked out together as they were the only people left there.
"I'll probably call Erika after you go. Just gonna remind her about the reunion that our family had planned for this weekend." Camille said while walking beside Y/N.
"But she'll probably be with Harrison right now," Y/N said.
"They're still together all these years? Never knew she was a relationship person honestly." Camille said.
"Me either. But, she's happy so I'm happy for her." Y/N said.
They entered the coffeehouse that was packed with busy people. The scent of coffee went to their noses as soon as they got in.
"I totally forgot that it's still Friday today," Camille said. "So many people."
They lined up in the long line since there was only one cashier available.
"By the way, have you seen the latest movie?" Camille asked Y/N and she gave a confused look.
"Which one?" Y/N asked back.
"I think it was the— erm— The latest Spiderman movie. I don't know the full title but I heard they just released a new one this month." Camille said. "Tom is in it right?"
Tom.
That name that Y/N will never forget.
Y/N smiled under her breath before answering her. "Yeah, I guess."
After that, they just waited for the line to be shorter and shorter until they were the next one to order. After they ordered, they stood in the corner waiting for their coffee to be made.
"One cappuccino and latte for Y/N!"
"I'll get it," Camille said and walked fast to get their orders. She mouthed thank you to the lady and went to Y/N's side again. "Here's your cappuccino," Camille said and handed Y/N her drink as they made their way out of the coffeehouse.
"So, I'll see you on Monday at work?" Camille asked.
"Always." That was what Y/N answered. "Take care!" She added before waving goodbye to Camille and went in the opposite direction as her with her drink in her hand.

Y/N parked her car on the side of the empty road. After how many months, almost a year, of driving lessons, she could finally drive for herself.
Before she got out, she got her drink and her other things first and removed her coat. She got out of the car with her things and shut the door and locked it.
The wind suddenly blew her hair and she smiled at this great feeling. As she walked towards the sand, she took off her shoes and placed them in the same spot that she would sit on. Luckily, no one was in the place other than herself.
The sun was almost setting and the waves were still moving in the ocean. She had come to this place almost every day or at least most of the time. The light of the sun reflected on the sun symbol on her bracelet that he gave her a few years back. She sighed at the thought of him.
She had lost contact with him just almost a year ago because of his busy schedule but Harrison would be the one to tell her how Tom was doing and all. Well, not really lost contact but they rarely contacted each other for the past few months due to their work.
Although those had happened, she never stopped going back to this place that Tom wanted her to always go. This was the place that kept her alive and stress-free.
Their relationship had its ups and downs.
Tom became one of the most famous celebrities in the world ever since he got the role of being Spiderman. After that, he had more upcoming movies for the past years later on.
Although there may have been rumors about him being in a relationship with one of his co-stars, Zendaya, because of their roles in Spider-Man, her trust for him remain. Although at some point, it hurt her but that just passed away.
Overall, she was happy for him and for what he has achieved. She was so proud of what he had become. It didn't stop her from visiting his family's house and spending time with them.
"I wish you were here right now." She whispered to herself as the wind could not stop making her hair fly.
"And I'm here." A voice said from a distance but loud enough for her to hear. Her eyes widen at this very familiar voice and her eyes began to water.
She slowly looked in the direction of the voice that she heard and there stood the person that she has been waiting for.
He gave her the same smile that she would never forget. He still looked the same as before but he was more muscular now. He looked better in person than on the big screen or in his interviews. His brown hair is now shorter but still had curls on.
"Tom?" She whispered and he could just easily read her lips calling his name. He opened his arms widely for her. She then ran up to his open arms and did not think twice about wrapping her arms around him. He spun her around as soon as he closed his arms around her.
Her tears fell from her eyes while hugging him. When Tom heard her sob, he placed a hand on her head and stroked her hair. "I'm home, love." He whispered to her.
She pulled away for a while and admired him. His face features, his hair. Everything about him. She suddenly pinched his cheeks with both of her hands that surprised Tom.
"Ow! What was that for?" He asked as he felt the slight pain from the pinch. His voice is deeper than before and his British accent is kind of mixed with an American accent.
"You are real," Y/N said that made Tom chuckle.
She was still as adorable as always. Tom thought
"Of course I am. You thought you're hallucinating?" Tom asked her and she nodded.
"It's been so long to finally see you personally," Y/N said and she slapped him on the chest. "You kept me waiting you know!"
"I'm sorry, love." Tom apologized and kissed her forehead. "Four years, huh?"
"And three months," Y/N added while looking at him and grinned.
"You have been counting," Tom said that made Y/N nod. "I missed you so much." He said and pulled her for a hug again. "God, I do miss you."
"I missed you too, Thomas." She replied and noticed the scrunchie that was on his wrist. The same scrunchie that she gave him before. "You kept it." She said and held to his wrist where the scrunchie was and smiled at him.
"Of course. It really reminded me of you." He answered.
They decided to sit down and talked about each other's new life. Tom was surprised about Y/N's career since he never thought she would be into photography like his brother, Harry.
"Your mom really influenced me to go to that," Y/N said. "That's why I'm so grateful for her."
"I had a photoshoot in that company actually," Tom said and that made her eyes widen. "Really?" She asked.
"Yeah, but that was like two thousand seventeen or something." He answered.
"Your American accent is really showing up," Y/N said and smiled at him.
"Well, most of my roles required this accent which I'm good at, surprisingly." He answered.
"How long have you been here already?" She asked him, curiously.
"Just today. I told my family first and Harrison that I was coming back for a week's vacation. And, I wanted to surprise you." He answered and placed his arms around her shoulders. She placed her head on his shoulder and gave a relieved sigh. Her happiness cannot be measured right now.
"You wanna go to the water?" Tom said and Y/N suddenly ran away from him and giggled.
"If you could catch me first!" Y/N said and ran which made Tom scoffed a laugh.
"I will!" Tom said and chased after her. After a few seconds of running, Tom was a few inches away from her and scooped her legs and carried her bridal style and he walked towards the water.
"No! Put me down! The water is gonna be so cold!" Y/N said but Tom ignored her and laughed. Then, Y/N wrapped her arms around his neck and forcefully pushed both of them down together to the water.
"Holy shit, the water is so cold," Y/N said as she raised her head up from the water as well as Tom. "Damn you, Holland!"
"You're gonna pay for that," Tom said and splashed her with water and Y/N did the same. Basically, the couple had a water fight. They kept laughing and splashing on the water to each other even as they stood up.
Tom then grabbed Y/N's arm and pulled her closer to him. They both wrapped their arms around each other and Y/N just gave a light laugh.

"Do you have a towel in your car?" Tom asked as they got out of the water, their bodies and clothes soaking wet as they stayed there a while ago to watch the sunset.
"Yep. It's on the back. I came prepared." Y/N said as she gave Tom the keys and walked towards her car. Tom could just laugh.
Tom got the towel and wrapped it around Y/N's body and continued to hug her from behind. They decided to stay on the beach a little longer until they dried up. After a few minutes, they then went inside the car with Tom as a driver although Y/N insisted that she would drive.
They went directly to Y/N's apartment that she rented ever since she got her work. Tom parked in the basement of the building. As soon as they got out, Tom locked the cars and gave Y/N back her keys. They walked together and got to an elevator going to her apartment.
"How's your dad and Aria?" Tom asked as Y/N shoved the key on the doorknob.
"They are doing great actually," Y/N answered. "Aria got a job in New Zealand in tourism. And, will you believe that my dad actually got married a year ago?" Y/N said happily and opened the door.
"Really? I never heard of that." Tom said.
"Because we made it a private wedding so it's only our relatives and Mom Trina's family too," Y/N explained to Tom. "Mom Trina is an amazing woman and I'm glad they got to meet each other."
"Your mom will be happy that your dad is happy," Tom said and Y/N could only smile.
She placed her things down the counter table. "This is my home." She said to Tom who was looking everywhere in the apartment. "It's not that bad." He said.
"Yep. In my room, I get to see the city and the sunset and sunrise too." While Y/N was talking. Tom just kept staring at her, admiring her. He couldn't explain how happy he felt when he finally saw her again. He walked closer to her and wrapped his arms around her from behind. This startled Y/N a bit but she held his arms and leaned her back to his chest.
"How did I get so lucky to have you?" Tom whispered and moved her hair away and gave a peck on her neck.
"Destiny, I guess." She answered and turned around to face him. She saw him looked at her lips and decided to close the gap between them by pressing her lips to his. Tom responded to the kiss and pulled her closer to him. As soon as the kiss became heated, she jumped and wrapped her legs around Tom's waist and he was carrying her. He then walked towards her room and shut the room by kicking his foot at the door while kissing and carrying her.

The ray of light hit Y/N's eyes as soon as she woke up. She felt strong arms around her bare waist and she smiled. She yawned and stretched her legs before she tried to move Tom's arm around her. She could still hear his soft snores beside her. His curls are really showing off when his head was on the pillow. She tried to get up but was stopped when she felt a hand grabbing her wrist and pulling her back to the bed. Strong arms wrapped around her again but this time tighter.
"Tom!" She exclaimed.
"Don't leave me here," Tom mumbled while his eyes were still closed and snuggled his head to her neck which tickled a little.
"Alright, baby," Y/N said and snuggled back at him. "But I have to cook breakfast. It's like almost lunch already."
"That was a long long night." Tom teased and Y/N felt her cheeks heat up as she remembered what happened last night. She slapped Tom's arm playfully who just laughed at her. "Let's do it again," Tom whispered in her ear with a husky voice and attempted to kiss her again but Y/N covered his mouth with her hand.
"Nope, nope. Not happening." Y/N said as she shoved his arms away from her and stood up with the blanket wrapped around her. "You better go and shower, Holland!" She exclaimed as she exited her room.
"Join me, then!"
"Shut it, Thomas!"

"Alright, we're on our way now, mum," Tom said through his phone as he drove in the road. "Love you too. Bye." He ended the call and placed his phone down. His eyes focusing on the road.
"What did she say?" Y/N asked.
"Harrison and Erika are already there and there done preparing." He answered and she just nodded as an answer. He glanced at her and smiled, taking her nearest hand and intertwining their fingers together. Y/N looked at him and smiled back. Tom decided to stop driving for a while which made Y/N confused. He parked the car on the side of the road.
"What's wrong?" Y/N asked, concerned.
"I just..." Tom paused for a while. "I'm just so happy that I got to see you again," Tom said and looked at her deep in her eyes.
Y/N placed a hand on his cheek and smiled. "Me too, Tom." She said.
"I'll take you with me once my vacation is over," Tom said and her eyes widen.
"But I have work—"
"I already talked to your manager and he's fine with it. He's gonna give you a break for a while." Tom said.
"How is that even possible?" She asked and giggled.
"Secret," Tom said and grinned. "I want you to see my work and some of the co-stars want to meet you."
"Seriously?" Y/N asked. "You talked about me to them?"
"Yep." Tom answered, emphasizing the 'p'. "Even the Avenger cast wants to meet you."
"Alright, then. I'll get to see celebrities." Y/N squealed and smiled at him. "At least I get to see my boyfriend work. This is exciting."
Tom placed a hand on her nape and pulled her head closer for him to kiss your forehead and lips.
"I love you, my love." He said. "You are my world and my everything."
Oh, how lucky they were for each other.
"I love you, too, Tom."
Always.
Forever.

Preamble: You’ve been going to the same coffee shop for the past four years. You’ve ordered the same thing almost every single day, and you never, ever skip on that part of your morning. So, when Mrs. Park hired a new barista and the once serene café was suddenly flooded with people every second of the day, you were less than thrilled.

You stared at the scene before you. Junseok was sweaty and tired, panting heavily. Chan was holding a half-brewed cup of coffee, seemingly moving closer to you. Seoyeon was leaning low with a deep v-neck shirt toward Chan, but turned to Junseok with disgust when she saw his ragged state. You sat in your chair, gingerly fiddling with the handle of your mug, not completely sure what to do next.
“Are you alright?” Chan asked Junseok. The messy boy stood up straight and brushed himself off. He walked toward you and smiled.
“Could I speak to you for a moment?” He asked. You looked up at Chan, who seemed just as confused as you, then looked back at Junseok.
“Okay.”
He led you to the exit of the café, holding the door open. You hesitantly walked through as he followed suit. You noticed that his hands were shaky and his gaze seemed to be avoiding yours.
“I got your text,” He said. “and I’m here to tell you that I feel the same.” He looked at you with a shy smile, which was returned with a confused raise of your brow.
“What do you mean?” You asked. He smiled and grabbed your hands.
“You sent me a text about how you feel about me.” He said, smiling. His grin slowly dissipated when he noticed that you weren’t aware of what was happening. “What’s wrong? Why do you look so confused?” He asked.
“Why are you confusing me?” You retorted. “I still haven’t seen my phone since the party.” You explained. Junseok’s eyes widened as he released your hands.
“I-” He fumbled. “I’m so sorry. I got a text from your number saying that you wanted to be more than friends.” He explained. “Which you apparently didn’t send. I feel like such an idiot. Oh my gosh, I just-” He stuttered. “I can’t believe I just told you that. Oh no.” He ran his fingers through his hair and turned away from you.
“It’s okay, it’s not your fault.” You said. You then realized why he was so bent out of shape. “Oh. OH.” You suddenly were reanimated, moving around nervously.
“Do you like me?” Junseok had turned to look at you, his eyes sincere and his mouth turned into a worried frown.
“I-” You began. “I am interested in someone else; I’m sorry.” You said. He looked down, tears brimming his eyes. After a moment, he raised his head, smiling.
“It’s Chan, right?” He asked. “I thought you seemed close during the party.” He was quiet for a bit until you broke the silence.
“Are we still friends?” You asked him, hopeful. Though you may not feel an attraction to him, you had enjoyed his company. He truly was a great guy.
“Of course. I’ll see you at the university.” He said, twiddling his thumbs. He looked at you sheepishly, running a hand through his hair again. “Bye, Y/n.”
You looked at him with concern. “Okay, see you.”
He waved as he walked down the sidewalk. Part of you felt absolutely horrible for hurting him. You looked back and forth between the empty space Junseok once stood and the café’s entrance. You slowly made your way back inside, sitting down quietly.
“Y/n?” Chan said. You looked up at him and smiled. “What was that all about?” He asked. You contemplated telling him the details, but decided against it.
“Junseok got a text from my number.” You said. “I didn’t send it.”
“Your phone is still missing.” Chan said. He stared off in thought. “Someone must be sending texts in your name.” He paused. “How did they get through your passcode?” He asked. You looked at him and blinked.
“I didn’t have one set.” You explained.
“Of all of the irresponsible-” Chan started on a tangent, spinning around in annoyance. “Are you kidding me?” He asked. “Setting up the security is step one!”
After a few more minutes of scolding you as he worked, Chan fell silent. You attempted to take a sip of your coffee, but it had become cold a long while ago. Your expression soured at the room temperature latte, causing Chan’s face to light up as he laughed at your reaction.
“That was gold. Wow. I should just serve you cold lattes.” He paused. “Because I’m cold hearted.” He paused again, waiting for you to laugh. “Get it?”
“Oh, I got it. It just wasn’t very good.” You retorted. He laughed through the pain, getting back to work. You giggled at the interaction before deciding it was a good time for you to leave. You needed to at least attempt to shut down your phone.
After gathering your things and saying your goodbyes, you made your way back to the subway station, wiping a bead of sweat from your forehead. You needed to get to your data provider to turn off the service to your number until you got your phone back.
When you entered the store a clerk immediately tried to talk you into buying a new phone, rather than finding your old one, at which you rolled your eyes and insisted on trying to search for your phone instead. Once that was taken care of, you decided you’d turn in for the day and chill at home. You spent most of the time reading books and watching your favourite television shows. Still, you felt that deep hollowness in your stomach. Why would someone tell Junseok that you had feelings for him?
Sighing for the umpteenth time, you turned off the television, closed your book, and washed up for bed. You tried to get some sleep, but you didn’t really have good results.
After an entire night of tossing and turning in your bed, you showered, styling your hair for the next day. There were dark bags under your eyes and your skin was dull with fatigue. Huffing, you gathered your things and walked out of the front door, locking it behind you. The first few classes at the university weren’t very eventful. You heard your professor drone on about the Korean language and how intricately it can be spun into wondrous stories with hidden meanings. You quite enjoyed that lecture. Comparatively speaking, that is.
You dragged yourself to your last class of the day, running a hand through your now messy hair. You heard someone call your name from behind.
“Y/n, hey.” It was Junseok. He still seemed a bit nervous after your last conversation. Being perfectly honest, you were, too. His hands were stuffed precariously in his pockets as he glanced at you. “It’s good to see you.” He said. You shot him a smile.
“Likewise. Is this your last class?” You asked him. He nodded, but said nothing. “Mine, too.”
After that somewhat clumsy conversation, you two parted ways and took your seats. The last lesson bored you half to death, but you made it through without taking a nap - at least not too long. Oops.
It was now time for you to make your way to the café. You didn’t have nearly as many textbooks on hand today, which helped a bit with the walk you had to take. For the most part, the café was still quiet. You checked your watch, realizing that the majority of the high school students weren’t yet out for the day. With that, you smiled to yourself.
“Hello, beautiful.” You heard Chan greet you as soon as you walked in the door, earning him a shy smile.
“Hi.” You said. He laughed at your demeanor.
“How’re you feeling?” He asked. You shrugged.
“Not bad. Lectures aren’t the greatest thing in the world, but that’s not unusual. What about you?” You said. “Is Seoyeon still stalking you?” Chan openly laughed at your choice of words.
“I haven’t seen her in person today, but through social media, yes. She must not have any responsibility to be able to be online as much as she is.” He muttered. He looked considerably better today than he did yesterday, but you could still find signs of fatigue. “Can I ask you a question?” Chan asked. You perked up and nodded.
“Yeah, of course.” You said. Chan looked down a bit, a sweet smile gracing his face. His dimples puckered his cheeks and it made your heart flutter.
“Can I take you on that date?” He asked. You blinked in confusion. Suddenly, the realization hit you.
“Oh lord. I completely forgot with everything that was going on yesterday! I’m so sorry!” You exclaimed. You thought back to the plans Chan had made with you to go to his favourite coffee house, smiling.
“Yeah, I know. I just thought you had enough on your plate.” He said. “Honestly, I wasn’t up for it, either. Seoyeon is relentless.” He explained. It was then that you thought about just how much she seemed to want him. A twinge of jealously washed over you, and your expression darkened. Chan noticed immediately. “Are you alright?” He asked. You nodded.
“Yeah. I’m just worried.” You said. Chan walked around the back counter and closer to you, placing his hands on your shoulders.
“You don’t need to worry, love. She is the last person I want to be anywhere near.” His hands lightly rubbed up and down your arms. You felt the heat from his fingertips sinking deep into your skin. It felt like fire.
“I know.” You laughed. “I’m dumb. Sorry.” Chan smiled and leaned in, pulling you into a hug. You slowly wrapped your arms around his torso, taking in his scent. Not long after, you heard someone clearing their throat from the back of the café. It was Mrs. Park.
“You two seem well acquainted.” She said, smiling.
The three of you laughed as you pulled away from Chan’s embrace, his hands lingering on yours. You looked away.
“Coffee?” He asked. You looked up at him and nodded.
“Coffee.” You said.

WELCOME TO MY TIPS, ADVICE AND TUTORIALS SERIES.
This series of posts is intended to teach and/or remind users of pretty much anything regarding Tumblr, from basic rules to gif tutorials.
Today we will be covering Part 2: Rules when Rebloggin'
Previously, we discussed the basics of Tumblr, such as liking and reblogging, so you should now understand how the analytics of Tumblr focus on things that are reblogged rather than liked. However, reblogging isn’t without its troubles as MANY PEOPLE have decided reblogging is a tool to spread unnecessary comments and hate, thus leading to many a creator to delete their content, stop making their content or even leave Tumblr altogether. Here, we will discuss how best to use reblogging when you are posting to your blog. Just remember when you reblog something and add hate to it - that reflects on YOU not on the original poster, and will likely result in unfollows and blocks.
1. CAPTIONS
Captions are what they are, a caption for something. They are can be quite pivotal parts of content especially in the cases of gifsets, graphics and other forms of art. Firstly, the caption can act as a description which is vital especially for those who are blind and have the caption read to them in order to understand the context of the image that they cannot see. Secondly, it can be part of the draw of a gifset, in some cases the caption especially when its a quote, can be more important than the image/s themselves. Third it can provide important information such as what movie/show/game the content is from, or even in some cases when content has been reposting with PERMISSION and ensuring the credit goes to the original creator of the content.
For these reasons it is VITAL that you DO NOT delete the captions placed there by the original creator, as that information is there for a reason by deleting it you are neglecting your own followers from that information, which can be detrimental to them (especially in the cases of blind or partial sighted individuals who rely on captions for context).
2. COMMENTING
Commenting is almost controversial because you are basically adding another caption to something that likely already has a caption. I personally don’t comment on anything and leave stuff for the tags, but I recommend your rules for commenting should be if something is an Image then comment in the tags but if it’s a Text Post you can comment (if you are unsure ask the OP they can clarify).
3.TAGGING
Say it with me: TAGGING IS VITAL. 
There are a lot of people who do not tag their content, and if you like that, that’s fine, but I personally refuse to follow people who don’t tag their content and I’m sure there are others who feel the same. My personal reasons is due to how it involves me seeing content that triggers me or content for something I have not yet seen or do not want to see.
Tagging is an important system because not only if you make a creation does it help people find your post, but it helps people navigate your blog and find the content you want. Most importantly of all it allows people to block what they don’t want to see, things like spoilers or triggers can all be tagged allowing for people to navigate your blog easier without fear of encountering something that will bother them. It also tells Tumblr what is popular and what is not, it’s how the likes of @fandom knows whats #1 trending, which may not seem important but social media in fact has an important role to play in ensuring new content (such as books, tv shows and movies) are created, if they don’t have those metrics they won’t know if these mediums are doing well or not.
I cannot re-emphasise how important it is to tag content, even if you create shortcuts in your phone to create the necessary tags. Too often do I see bloggers complain about being spoiled about something when they themselves DO NOT practice what they preach. Consider your fellow bloggers, and be sure to be open to people asking for you to tag topics that may be harmful to them.
So when you tag I recommend you tag the topic and any triggers. If you want to go beyond that that is up to you.
4. REPOSTING (AND WHY IT IS  B A D!)
Posting is a common thing we all do it, but there is something you should NEVER EVER POST and that is someone else’s work, unless of course you have permission in which case you should attribute the work to the creator.
There are a LOT of people on this site that steal from other users and post it as their own to get notes, they are often too lazy to create their own content or too lazy to learn or are just so naive they do not realise what they are doing is wrong.
Let’s say take a movie, it’s distributed by a studio one that paid for its creation and will make the profits for the movie, then another studio that DID NOT pay for it or put any effort towards it copies it (maybe adds stuff from other movies that they again they didn’t make) and distributes it with the intent of making money off it. That is beyond a doubt illegal and morally wrong.
Yet, when a creator makes something and the same thing happens it is deemed okay. It isn’t, maybe the content wasn’t created (such as the movie or tv show) by the OP but the edit or fanart or fanfiction is a work of the OPs imagination - it’s something they spent time and effort on to gain a benefit, in this case notes and not money. It is much the same thing, Reposting in every sense is the same as a studio distributing another studios movie without permission.
It is wrong, and you should NEVER EVER DO IT unless you have permission. Instead you should reblog a post, that way you get the same quality post on your blog without doing something that a lot of people find upsetting and can drive them to stop creating.

Preamble: You’ve been going to the same coffee shop for the past four years. You’ve ordered the same thing almost every single day, and you never, ever skip on that part of your morning. So, when Mrs. Park hired a new barista and the once serene café was suddenly flooded with people every second of the day, you were less than thrilled.

You stood outside of the cafe’s entrance, debating whether or not to enter. It has been two days since the date, and you had been actively avoiding the building. Unfortunately, you just ran out of coffee and really, really wanted the coffee that’s made here. You crossed your fingers, hoping that Mrs. Park was manning the floor this evening.
You flinched when the bell above the door trilled as you entered, hoping it didn’t draw any unwanted attention. You peeked at the work station, checking for any signs that Chan was in today. You cursed yourself for never having asked what his schedule was. You only saw Mrs. Park, who frowned when she saw you.
“Y/n, it’s been a while. Are you alright?” She asked, placing a mug on the counter. You nodded and smiled.
“Yeah, of course.” You replied. She cocked an eyebrow, scoffing.
“You are most definitely not fine, and I don’t appreciate being lied to.” She said, wagging a finger in your direction. Your eyes widened as you stopped in your tracks. “You haven’t been in for days and Chan has never looked more depressed.” Mrs. Park said. You looked down.
“It’s fine, I just didn’t want to come in.” You said. You weren’t lying.
“Then tell me why.” She said. You placed your bag on the bar counter, sliding into a seat.
“I really don’t think it’s my place to say.” You said. She looked down and laughed a little.
“That’s exactly what Chan told me.” She explained. “Tell me what happened.” You hung your head low.
“We just fought.” You finally said. She squinted at you, trying to find any indication whether what you said was true or not.
“Ah, I see.” She said, turning. She had grabbed the mug and hung it up behind her. “I was afraid this would happen.” She mumbled.
“Afraid what would happen?”
“That girl would do something to you two.” She said. “She seemed like trouble.” You let out a sigh.
“It wasn’t her. Chan lied to me.” You said. “Or, at least he broke a promise, which is kind of like lying.” You corrected yourself. Mrs. Park frowned.
“What did he promise you?” She asked.
“I really shouldn’t get into it.” You said. “It’s not fair for me to tell everyone about something like this.” You explained. She hummed and nodded, looking down.
“I had such high hopes for you two.” She said. “What would you like to order today, dear?” She asked. You told her your order, pulling out your textbook. You flipped through the pages, not really paying much attention to what they said. You heard the bell ring, signaling you that there was a new customer. You looked up to see Junseok.
“Hey, Y/n~!” He said, waving. He made his way over to you, smiling. “How’ve you been feeling?”
“So-so. What about you?” You said. He frowned, but understood.
“I’m doing alright, thanks. Can I sit here?” He pointed to the stool next to you. You hummed and smiled.
“Of course.”
He took his seat, placing his book bag on the counter next to yours. “I have a lot of studying to do.” He said. You could see three textbooks protruding from the open end of his bag. He wasn’t exaggerating.
“I felt that.” You said, laughing a little. “Which classes?” You asked.
“Anatomy, calculus, and biology.” He said. You raised a brow.
“Are you a medical major?” You asked. He nodded.
“Yeah. It’s always been a passion for me. What about you?” He asked.
“I haven’t decided yet.” You explained, sighing. “I really should, though.” Junseok chuckled at your exasperation.
“Take your time.” He said. You smiled at his kindness, nodding.
“Alright.” You heard footsteps coming from the employee room, looking up to see a very tired-looking Chan. He ran a hand through his locks, frowning.
“I’m ready to take over. You can go now, Mrs. Par-” He stopped in his tracks when he saw you.
“Thank you, Chan. I’ll see you in a few hours.” Mrs. Park briskly walked past all of you and to the stairs, smiling devilishly. Chan slowly walked over to the both of you, looking at Junseok.
“Would you like something to drink?” He asked. You could faintly see his teeth grit while he spoke. Junseok shook his head.
“I think I’m good for now, thanks bro.” He said.
“You can’t be here if you don’t order anything.” Chan’s voice had become lower, as if he was warning Junseok about something. It took a moment, but then the situation hit you; He was jealous. You rolled your eyes.
“I’ve been here a lot without ordering anything, and the café is pretty much empty. I think he’s fine, Chan.” You said, looking back down at your textbook. You scribbled a note and looked over to Junseok, smiling. He returned the gesture.
“I can order something if you want. It’s not a big deal.” He said. Chan huffed, whipping out a notepad.
“What can I get you?” He asked.
“I think I’ll get a macchiato.” Junseok said. “It’s been a while.” Chan nodded and scribbled the order down, turning away to brew Junseok’s coffee. You glanced between the two boys and sighed softly. It was going to be a long day.
The next few minutes passed peacefully, you and Junseok reading your textbooks and discussing, while Chan prepared the macchiato. The café received no new customers in that time, which you were thankful for. You sighed softly and closed your book.
“I think I need a break.” You admitted. Junseok looked up at you from his textbook, which had a large picture of what you could only imagine was some part of the human body. He nodded.
“I could use one, too.” He said. “Do you want me to take you home?” He asked. You shook your head.
“I’m fine. I think I can get there myself. It’s nice out.” You said. “I might want some more coffee before I leave. You can go if you want.” He hummed.
“Alright. Shoot me a text if you change your mind about that ride.” He said, gathering his things. You nodded and watched him exit the café.
“He didn’t even drink his coffee...” Chan muttered to himself as he took the half-full mug. You pursed your lips.
“I don’t always drink my coffee.” You said. “Just because he’s my friend doesn’t mean he can’t be yours.” Chan scoffed.
“He’s made it very clear he wants to be more than friends with you.” He said.
“I’ve made it clear that I don’t.” You retorted. Chan’s gaze never found yours throughout the entire conversation. “You-” You stuttered. “You don’t get to be mad at me.” You said. This time, he looked at you.
“I’m not mad at you.”
“You also don’t get to dictate who I spend my time with. Treating Junseok like crap isn’t going to help you.”
“I’m-” He said. “I’m not trying to.” He let out an exasperated sigh. “Is now a good time for you to let me explain?” He asked. You shook your head.
“You admitted to kissing someone after you told me you wouldn’t do anything like that with other people. I don’t want to hear it. No explanation is going to help you.” You said. He frowned and nodded.
“I’ll try again later.”
Most of the next twenty minutes were spent with the occasional customer coming in, the sound of the coffee grinder going off every few minutes, and the smell of mixed colognes and perfumes irritating your senses. You began get up after your umpteenth cup of coffee, but stopped.
“Chan?” You said. He perked up and looked in your direction. “I’ll let you try to explain.” You couldn’t leave what both of you had without at least letting him try to explain the situation. He smiled weakly and nodded.
“I had gone back to the party after bringing you home, mostly to hang out with Junseok.” He began. “We were messing around, watching all of the drunk people being idiots. One of them came up to me - I don’t even know her name - and just laid one on me. Apparently, they were playing some hybrid of spin the bottle and truth or dare, and she was dared to kiss someone in the room.” He looked at you and frowned. “That person was me. I pushed her away the second it happened, I swear.” He said. You looked at him, contemplating how to feel.
If he was telling the truth, then it’s more than likely that Seoyeon used the incident to split you two up. If he’s lying, which people aren’t unknown to do, then you’d just be falling into the arms of a playboy. You hummed, and nodded.
“Thanks for telling me, but I need to just think about it for a while.” You said. Chan nodded in understanding.
“Take all the time you need.” He said. “In the meantime, I’ll try to find a way to prove it.” He paused. “Why didn’t Junseok tell you?” He asked.
“I never told him about it.” You admitted. Chan raised a brow.
“I thought for sure that you would have told him.”
“It’s not my place to tell everyone about things that happen between us.” You explained. “Even if I’m hurting.” Chan’s gaze softened.
“I get it.” He said. “Will I see you tomorrow?” He asked.
“I don’t know.” You told him. He looked at his hands and grabbed a wet mug.
“Alright.” He said.

Preamble: You’ve finally achieved your dream of becoming an English teacher in Korea. Unfortunately, your flight to your new home has been delayed - for ten hours. With a handful of cash, some eccentric shops, and an unlikely friend, you might find that mother nature’s forces are, at times, serendipitous.

Your finger rapped nervously on the arm rest next to you. You were sitting on a very uncomfortable chair in the waiting area of the airport, hearing the announcer call all of the other flights. Yours was already fifteen minutes late.
The stark white walls of the airport were anything but welcoming, and the grey and black chairs were filled with an airplane’s worth of people who were nervous, annoyed, or a rotten combination of the two. You had strategically sat yourself next to an elderly woman - who was snoozing peacefully beside you - and placed your bag on the chair to your left. With any luck, you wouldn’t be disturbed.
You were awaiting your flight to Seoul, South Korea with a bittersweet feeling. You had been offered a job as an English teacher for one of the high schools. You had put off the job after hearing that your grandfather had fallen ill. Recently, though, he passed, and you had nothing holding you back. You were depressed because of your loss, but elated to start a new chapter in life; It was bittersweet.
As you sat in thought, a curious man with a black face mask cocked an eyebrow at you.
“Hello?” He said, waving his hand in front of you. You perked up and looked at him quizzically. “Sorry, I don’t think you heard me. Is this seat taken?” He asked, pointing to the one where your carry-on lied. You glanced at him, and then your bag, internally pouting as you shook your head.
“No, you can sit.” You said, removing the items. He bowed and thanked you, seating himself. His hair lied in a curly blonde mop on his head, small pieces tickling his nose. His dark roots poked through, creating a bit of depth. He whipped out his phone and scrolled through his feed, smiling at a video that played. He glanced over at you and cocked a brow.
“Is there a reason why you’re eavesdropping?” He asked, visibly annoyed. You looked away.
“No, sorry.” You replied. You could feel his eyes on you, which made you shift uncomfortably in your chair. You made yourself appear busy by unlocking your phone, doing nothing in particular.
“Very interesting.” You heard the blonde man’s voice echo in your ear at a close proximity, your hair moving a bit from his breath. You jumped out of your skin, blinking at him a couple of times.
“Were you eavesdropping?” It was your turn to ask. He nodded.
“I figured I’d return the favour.”
“I-” You didn’t know how to answer that. “Okay.” He smirked at you, which was the first time you had seen him stop scowling. You couldn’t tell if he was in a bad mood, or if he just had a naturally bleak expression. The announcer’s voice suddenly rang through the waiting room.
“Due to strong winds, Flight 000 has been delayed. Passengers can refund their tickets, or wait for the next flight in the waiting room. The next available flight is in ten hours. Please ask an employee for a complementary cot and blanket if you choose to stay.” Once the intercom beeped and silenced, the room was immediately filled with a chorus of whines and groans from unhappy passengers, yourself included. The man next to you grinned.
“I needed a nap, anyway.” He said. “Food, too.” He added. It’s possible he was the only one happy about this. You frowned.
“I’d be surprised if anyone else is staying.” You muttered to yourself. He looked at you quizzically.
“Me, too. Are you staying?” He asked. You nodded.
“I would have to stay in a hotel if I didn’t, and I don’t have the extra money on me.” You explained. He hummed and looked around.
“I’m hungry.” He stated. “What about you?” You looked at him with curiosity. This was the same man who gave you a death glare and some attitude for absent mindedly looking at his phone. It also struck you as odd that his face would be covered for as long as it has. You almost felt like you recognized him, but shook it off. All of these things made it hard to trust him.
You nodded before answering. “Yeah. I’ll go look around.” You picked up your bag and your teaching handbooks, trying to balance everything in your two arms. He grinned at you.
“I can watch your stuff while you get some food.” He offered. You shook your head.
“I’m fine. I’ll take them.” He rolled his eyes at your stubborn attitude and stood.
“If you say so.” He said, walking off in the direction of the food stands. You hoped there was something good to eat. Taking a few moments to balance everything, you slowly made your way to the food court. There were some fast food places and some restaurants, both of which had very few employees and customers. You walked over to a cheap restaurant, waiting at the hostess table. You were greeted with a suppressed giggle at your stuggling form, and led inside.
The establishment was nearly empty, only a few people dotting the dining area. As the hostess began to seat you, you heard a familiar voice call out to the both of you. It was the man from earlier.
“She’s with me.” He said. The hostess nodded and brought you over to the table. Once seated, - which was difficult with all of your belongings - you cocked an eyebrow at the man.
“What was that about?” You asked.
“I don’t like eating alone.” He replied. “I’ll pay for your meal if it helps.” You shook your head.
“No, thanks. I’ll get it.” You said. “I don’t like leeching.” He looked at you and hummed. Part of you was excited because you’d finally be able to see the face under the mask. You grinned at the thought of knowing why he was so familiar. You had previously noted his Australian accent, but it could have been anyone. Both of you sat in awkward silence for a minute or so before your server turned up with the menus. They asked what you’d like to drink, and you both went with a good old glass of water.
The restaurant’s selection was an absolute mess. There was Italian food, Mexican food, Chinese, and every other type of popular cuisine you could muster. You heard the man scoff.
“They serve fried chicken,” He said, “and on the back, it’s also says they serve caviar.” You immediately rolled your eyes.
“If you’re opening to a chicken and egg joke, I swear-” he looked up at you, and you could tell he was smiling from the crinkles around his eyes. You giggled, too. The server returned with the two glasses of water you had both asked for.
“I kid, I kid.” He raised his hands in surrender. You grinned. The server asked for your orders, which you both gave, and walked away.
“So, why don’t you like to eat alone?” You asked. He paused for a moment to think.
“I don’t know. It’s just better to eat with someone.” He replied. “Can I ask you a question?” He asked. You looked at him and nodded.
“Sure.”
“Why are you going to Korea?” He cocked his head to the side like a curious puppy when he asked, making your heart flutter a little bit.
“I got a job there. What about you?” You asked. He smiled through the mask.
“It’s where I live. I was visiting some old friends here.” He explained. You hummed in understanding.
“Can I ask what your job is?” You tried to figure out why you knew him. He immediately looked away.
“I-” He started, but stopped himself. “I’m in the entertainment industry.” He said. You noticed him fiddle with his face mask. He was hiding his identity on purpose. You immediately ran through a quick mental list of the Korean artists you listen to, failing to put his face and voice to any of them. You listened to a lot of music, but didn’t really go looking up many singers or bands. You kind of wished you did. Resisting the urge to look up Korean-Australian performers, you smiled.
“That’s vague, but okay.” You replied. You watched as a weight seemed to lift off of his chest. He was worried you’d found him out. You mentally wondered why he would ask you to eat with him if he didn’t want his identity known. “Is that why you’re wearing a mask?”
His relief was short-lived, and you observed as he squirmed where he sat. He looked at you with panic settling in.
It was going to be an interesting night.

Preamble: You’ve been going to the same coffee shop for the past four years. You’ve ordered the same thing almost every single day, and you never, ever skip on that part of your morning. So, when Mrs. Park hired a new barista and the once serene café was suddenly flooded with people every second of the day, you were less than thrilled.

As you both left, Junseok told you that Seoyeon would probably be at the gym for the next two hours. She had been trying to convince him to bring Chan over. After saying your goodbyes, you and Chan piled yourselves into his car.
“I know that it isn’t a necessity, but I’ve really missed my phone.” You said, laughing. He subtly rolled his eyes.
“Kids these days...” He said.
“We are in the same generation!” You playfully yelled. He giggled, turning his key. The car roared to life, and he wasted no time in pulling out of the café’s parking lot.
“So, how are we thinking of going about this?” He asked.
“Just walk up to her and ask for the phone back?” You answered hesitantly. He glanced at you and chuckled.
“Yeah, that’ll definitely work.” He said. You watched the road, sifting through your options.
“Do we have a way to prove it?” You asked. Chan sat in thought before nodding.
“If you give me your number, I’ll call it.” He said. “I’m sure it’s still on. With any luck, it’s with her.” He added. You smiled nervously. You were never one to outwardly confront someone about something like this in public, preferring to remain passive and avoid fights.
“Is this just your way of getting my number?” You asked. He laughed.
“If I can kiss you in the back of a café and not be allowed to have your number, I’d be genuinely surprised.” He retorted. You smiled at him.
“Yes, you can have my number, you dork.” You said. Chan pulled up at the curb of the gym, looking at you with his phone open to the phoning application. You recited your number, watching as he dialed. You heard ringing, but no answer.
“At least we know it’s on.” He said. “Let’s go, love.” You blushed at the nickname, which was funny, because he called you a few other pet names earlier and you didn’t have any form of reaction. Maybe it’s because you know you’re both an ‘item’ now?
Before you could manage to, Chan had moved to your side of the car, opening the door for you. Once you stepped out, you felt his hand catch yours. He stopped you for a moment to intertwine your fingers, smiling. With that, you were off.
The gym was definitely for the higher class portion of society. When you walked in, it became very apparent. You noted the high ceilings and intricate lighting. From the outside, you knew the building was huge, but it felt even larger once you entered. You felt Chan lightly tug your arm to bring you to the concierge who was manning the front desk.
“Oh, hey there, Chan!” The boy said. He seemed to be in his late teens, and very familiar with the Aussie. You were surprised to see that he wasn’t Asian. You had gotten so used to the trademark features of people from Korea that when you saw a foreigner, it threw you for a loop.
“Hey, mate. Can I visit someone really quickly?” He asked. The boy nodded and handed him a visitor’s pass.
“One for your friend, too?” He asked. Chan nodded.
“Of course.”
The boy handed you a visitor’s pass, which was a clip nametag on a lanyard. Once you put it on, you smiled.
“Thank you.” The boy nodded and waved.
“I’ll see you later, bro.” He said to Chan. Chan grinned and waved as well.
“See you!”
You followed Chan as he expertly navigated the building.
“Do you have a second job that I don’t know about?” You asked. Chan stopped and raised a brow at you inquisitively.
“No..?” He said. “Why do you ask?”
“You walk around like you’ve been coming here for a while, and this place is definitely not your average gym.” You said. He laughed.
“I’m sure you noticed my friend at the counter. I was acting as his personal trainer for a few months. He wanted to learn how to use the kind of equipment that they have here. I already knew from the gym that I go to, so... Yeah.” He said. You laughed.
“I’m not grilling you. I was just curious.” You said, grabbing his hand. “Let’s go.” He grinned, continuing the journey to find Seoyeon. He stopped at a door near the end of a hallway somewhere in the building. ‘Somewhere,’ because you don’t actually know where in the gym you are. He released your hand, opening the door.
Seoyeon was listening to music through her headphones, running on a treadmill. The rest of the room - which was filled with various types of athletic equipment - was vacant otherwise. You watched as Chan whipped out his phone, calling your number. You could hear the faint sound of your ringtone coming from one of Seoyeon’s bags. She unplugged her ears and walked over to the phone, switching it off.
“So you do have it.” You said. She turned to face you, noticing Chan and immediately standing straighter with a plastic smile.
“Have what?” She asked.
“Her phone. Are you really going to try to deny it?” Chan said. The boy from the front desk walked into the room, standing next to you.
“What’s going on?” He asked.
“We’re resolving an issue. She took my phone.” You said. Both of you had spoken quietly to avoid interrupting the conversation.
“I don’t have her phone.” Seoyeon said, placing her hands on her hips. Chan grimaced.
“Well, I have her number. I just called it, and it rang from your bags. Explain that.” He said. Her smile faltered for only a moment.
“Coincidence.”
“If it was a coincidence, then I guess if I call it again, we won’t hear another phone ringing from your stuff?” Chan asked. Seoyeon remained silent. He dialed your number, raising a brow when the resounding ringtone echoed in the room.
“Gym members can be subject to unscheduled bag checks if the attending employee wdeems it necessary.” The boy next to you said. It was obvious he took the quote right out of the rule book.
“You can’t look at my stuff!” Seoyeon yelled.
“Yes, I can - and I will.” He made his way across the room to the bench where her belongings laid, sifting through until he found a cell phone. Even from the distance, you were sure it was yours. “Ma’am?” He asked. You nodded.
“It’s mine.” You confirmed. Chan rang your number once more for the extra bit of proof. Seoyeon’s face was mortified when it rang in the boy’s hand. He walked over and handed you your phone, to which you thanked him. Chan placed his arm around you, and the boy made an audible ‘oh’ sound.
“So, you’re the girl he was telling me about last week?” He asked. “I’m Sam.”
“I’m Y/n.” You replied, shaking his hand. He smiled.
“It’s very nice to meet you.” He turned to Seoyeon. “This incident is going on your record. This is your second strike.” He said. Seoyeon’s face puffed when she pouted at him.
“But Sammy~!” She whined. He held up his hand.
“Nope.” He turned to you and Chan, who were both giggling at his blatant little ‘nope.’ “I hope I’ll get to know you better in the future. In the meantime, I’ll be teasing Channie here for a while.” Chan visibly grimaced, squeezing your shoulder. You chuckled at the two boys and their comments. Seoyeon pushed through the three of you with her bags to exit the gym, stomping loudly with every step. Sam rolled his eyes.
“I think we’ll be off. Thanks for everything, bro.” Chan said to Sam. They said their goodbyes, and you and Chan exited the room. Once you made it to the front doors of the gym, you stopped him.
“Thank you, Channie.” You said. He grasped both of your hands in his, smiling at you.
“Don’t thank me. I’ll be blowing up your phone for days.” He said. You laughed, moving closer. You gave him a soft hug, to which he reciprocated with a firm squeeze. “You know, at some point, I’ll take you on a successful date.” He said.
“I have time now.” You replied. His face lit up with a smile as he jumped around in his spot.
“Coffee time!” He said. You threw your fists into the air enthusiastically.
“Coffee time!”

You tensed up, watching as Seoyeon made her way over to your table. She grabbed a chair and sat herself near the two of you, gazing at your anxious form. You felt Chan’s hand reach and grab yours under the table. His thumb rubbed small circles on the top of your hand.
“Can we help you?” Chan didn’t seem any more amused than you were. Seoyeon smiled.
“Oh, I was just wondering if you knew the newest bit of gossip.” She said, tossing her hair over her shoulder.
“No, and I don’t care to.” Chan said. “If you don’t mind, we’re a little busy.”
“You’ll want to know this!” Seoyeon seemed overly excited about her information. You shifted nervously in your seat.
“What is it?” You asked.
“Word is that Channie’s still dating someone else.” She said.
“What? Who?” You asked. You could feel a lump manifesting in your throat, but you swallowed it down. He needs a chance to explain himself, and Seoyeon isn’t exactly what you’d call a reliable source.
“I’m not dating anyone else - I swear!” Chan said from the seat next to you. You glanced back and forth between Seoyeon and Chan. Both of them seemed like they were telling the truth, as far as their facial expressions were concerned, which left you with no answers.
“Don’t you remember? You and Haeun have been a thing for weeks now.” She said. You looked at Chan’s eyes, searching for any truth in her statement.
“Is this true?” You asked him. He placed his free hand on yours and looked at you.
“I am not dating anyone other than you.” He said.
“Even so, he’s kissing people other than you.” Seoyeon said. You looked at her, brows furrowing.
“Did you kiss someone else?” You asked. “After you told me you only wanted me?” Chan looked defeated.
“Yes, but-” He began to speak, but you pulled your hands away from his.
“Take me home. Now.” You said, tears brimming your eyes. “Actually, no. I’ll just use the subway. Let me get my bag.” You stood from your seat and walked to the exit, not wasting any time in pushing the door open. You found your way next to his locked car door, waiting for him to emerge. You watched as Chan spoke to Seoyeon harshly, though you didn’t know what he was saying. He walked over to the counter and spoke to the barista, then exited the building.
He slowly came closer, running a hand through his curly locks. “Y/n, please, hear me out. I-” You held your hand up to stop him.
“I don’t want to hear it. Just unlock the door.” You said. He obliged, and you heard the car’s security system release. You opened the door and grabbed your bag and book, closing it.
“Could you at least let me bring you home?” He asked.
“No. I need some time away from you.” You said. By then, a stubborn tear had escaped your eye, trickling down your cheek. Something in Chan’s eyes almost seemed to shatter when he saw it.
“Be careful. Call someone.” He said.
“It’s not that late. I think I can take care of myself. Stop worrying about me.” You said, wiping the tear. The lump in your throat had made it increasingly more difficult to speak, the end of your sentence cracking from your inability to get the words out properly.
Chan nodded slowly, deciding it was best not to argue with you right now. He looked down, shoving his hands in his pockets. You heard his keys jangle from the movement. You both stood in silence for a moment before you decided it was time to walk away.
Most of the following ten minutes were spent quietly crying as you walked to the subway station. Once you got there, even more news awaited you. The station was closed for repairs regarding the tracks, and it couldn’t be used for the next week or so. You huffed, sniffling as another tear leapt from your eyes. There was a payphone nearby, and after a moment of thought, you dialed Mrs. Park’s number. You waited, but it went to voicemail. After another bout of thought, you dialed Junseok’s number. It rang twice before he answered.
“Hello? Who is this?” He asked.
“It’s Y/n.” You said. “I’m really sorry to have to ask you for this, but-” You made a ‘hic’ sound, sniffling. “Could you please pick me up?” He lived nearby and you figured it might be easier if he got you.
“Yeah, of course. Where are you?” He asked. You gave him your location, waiting for his response. “I’ll be there in ten... Are you okay?” He seemed legitimately worried about you, and you internally thanked him for the gesture.
“I-” You began. “No. I just don’t want to get into it right now. I’m sorry.” You explained. He hummed.
“No problem. I’ll be there soon. Don’t go anywhere.” He said. You hung up shortly after.
The ten minute wait was actually only seven, which you were personally very happy for. You weren’t too keen on looking like a soap opera-esque mess in the middle of the city in broad daylight. If it had been raining, the scene would have been set.
Junseok emerged from his red car wearing a grey hoodie with a jean jacket over it, black jeans, and a black cap. He wasted no time in walking over to you.
“Are you alright? I didn’t take too long, did I?” He asked. You shook your head.
“No, you didn’t. Thank you so much for this. I’m sorry.” You said. He came closer.
“You don’t need to be sorry. You’re my friend. You can ask for a ride any time.” He explained. You nodded and smiled weakly, holding your bag to your chest. “Ready to go?” He asked. You hummed.
“Yeah.”
The interior of Junseok’s car was nothing to gloat about, but it was pretty nice. You could faintly smell one of those car air fresheners. You subtly glanced around, searching for a dangling tree, but found nothing. Junseok already had the key in the ignition, so he was able to pull out of his spot near the sidewalk quickly.
“You don’t have to if you don’t want to, but I am curious as to what’s going on. I’m here for you.” He said. You looked down, feeling bad about your reluctance to share the issue.
“It’s nothing. Thanks, anyway.” You said.
“It’s not nothing, but I can respect that.” He said. “Did you find your phone yet?” He asked.
“No. I called you from the payphone.” You explained. He made an audible ‘ah’ sound.
“I was wondering what number that was.” He said. “Have you shut down the number?” He asked. You nodded.
“Yeah. I did it not long after you and I had that conversation.” You said, beating around the bush a bit. He nodded in understanding.
“That’s good.” He paused. “We’re almost there.” He pulled into your general neighbourhood, asking you which building you were in and such. Once he navigated to your apartment, he stopped the car.
“Thank you so much. I really do appreciate this.” You said. He nodded and smiled.
“Any time.” He said. “Now go home, make some coffee, and read a good book. I’m sure it’ll help you feel better.” He smiled warmly. “Call me if you want to.” You nodded and returned his smile again, opening the car door.
“Thank you.” You said, waving. You shut the door and walked into your building and up the stairs, waging the war that was unlocking your door. You tossed your bag and book on the ground, huffing when you realized that you literally just tossed a book on the ground. You grabbed it, checked for damage, and placed it on the table near your bed, dropping like a rock. You then wailed to your heart’s content, tossing and turning on the covers. Tears began to soak small areas of your pillow, and you internally cursed the phenomenon that was crying. This day couldn’t have gone any worse.
