especially with regards to touch. Harry’s difficulties with initiating touch, his traumatic relationship with it and history of sexual abuse and self harm. his hidden crooked jaw. his flashbacks. he has so much baggage here, tied to his body, and is so deeply touched starved. and Kim's comfort is so touch oriented…

I’m wondering if it’s less traumatic for Harry to receive touch than to initiate, since the Dora flashback is tied to him initiating with Billie…and he gets morale heals from the backpats

I’m thinking about Harry cautiously pulling Kim in for a short hug and squeezing tighter as nothing bad happens im normal

One of my favorite character moments (and the thing that immediately made me love him) for Apollo that I think is so intensely important to understanding him goes way back to Case 2 of Ace Attorney: Apollo Justice.

In that case, Trucy stages a “kidnapping” by using Mr. Hat to distract the court, and when Apollo rushes out into the lobby and sees her safe and sound…

He cries.

He’s so overcome with worry and relief that he cries for a girl he barely knows. A girl who, for all intents and purposes, almost cost him the badge he worked so hard to gain. A girl who focused most of the time they did know each other teasing him and not taking him seriously.

And yet, he cries for her anyway. He sobs, even.

It’s a throwaway moment, likely done for comedic effect, but it really hit me, and Trucy’s immediate earnest response telling Apollo not to cry and then him doubling down with protective rage on her behalf hit it home harder, y’know?

Apollo Justice, at his core, cares. Despite his surly attitude a lot of the time, this is nonetheless a defining trait of his. He cares, so much, and so easily, and we see it firsthand right there as he cries for a near stranger.

(And I also think it’s worth noting that the first time we really, truly see Trucy lower her performance mask and cry herself…it’s to Apollo.)

Ok so here we get her first introduction:

She was a distinctive-looking sort of person, with a strong nose, round cheeks, and heavy-lidded eyes. Her hair was so pale a silver that it looked white against her red-brown skin. She seemed to be about his age, which was what? Decidedly past childhood, but still young. Twenty or twenty-one?

Other things mentioned explicitly times in the draft so far:

black eyes (true black, not dark brown)

usually keeps her hair pulled kind of half up with a barrette

length of her hair changes throughout the story

wears earpieces/hearing aids that are also decorative like jewelry

white/pale eyelashes

implied:

she's around average height (thinks people taller than her are tall and people shorter than her are short)

straight, thick hair—kind of slippery

Using this as an audio reference for the posts I'm making, but to summarize:

Yuri starts out mad.

Yuri tries to calm himself down with a deep breath to ask for details instead of going through it angry.

Flynn doesn't say "like a good knight" in the sense of putting himself down. He simply says "as a knight" (the tl here doesn't use that, but with that included it's basically along the lines of "even though I had doubts, as a knight, I was determined to follow my orders").

Once Yuri has answers he calms down significantly.

Yuri uses " 'ttaku", which is a shortened down version of "mattaku" (Yuri often shortens words and speaks very casually), which in this particular situation basically would mean "geez", or "good grief". In this manner, it's expressive of exasperation/frustration/etc.

Yuri never mentions that "Flynn told him what to do" like the dub does (because in fact Flynn did not ever tell Yuri what to do. He only gave Sodia and his other knights orders. He expressed his own desire to take responsibility, but never told Yuri and his friends what to do).

At this point you can tell the anger has gone out of him and that he's calmed down, now that Flynn is approaching this with admission and responsibility.

Sodia is asking that Flynn returns as soon as possible (I believe this was a general translation error).

Flynn's thank you to Yuri is tonally much more heartfelt.

Yuri's response and gratefulness at Flynn coming back to himself is tonally much more heartfelt, relieved and sincere.

oh right i decided yesterday i’m not doing that christmas game made. so i guess i was right when i said i was NNNAWT GONNA DO THAT‼️‼️🫡 turns out i really was not!

maybe if i had more time in previous weeks i could’ve walked out with something? But really the main issues for me is the maximum 20 mins playtime, my love for dialogue, and preferring some sort of battle system. I don’t think i’d be able to manage all that & walk out with something i’d be happy with, especially in the character department (aka the most important to me).

i did consider using characters from previous games several times but in the end it was like… ehh nah

i am going to be honest yes P.E. was rly messed up esp for certain ppl like disabled/fat/etc people but i still think of some of the games i played in P.E. with fondness i think that we should have something like P.E. now but not evil more like recess but for adults i think i would be good for me like enrichment in my enclosure
