I totally agree. the toxicity between toxic lando and toxic oscar fans is insane. I get that they are teammates, and of course you want your fave to be the winner, but it doesnt mean people should just bash the other driver.

Lando is the driver that got me in F1, he will always be my favorite, but i love oscar too. people told me its weird to like them both but like, you WANT your fave to get better right? that happends through a good teammate.

Yes Oscar was faster in China, yes with DRS he was quicker than lando, but that doesnt mean lando should be dragged through the mud because Oscar wasnt just let by. He was allowed to race, didnt beat lando, on we go to bahrein.

people are fighting grown men who they dont know anything about, creating personalities for them (Oscar being "ruthless, unemotional beast" which isnt true at all from what weve seen as he is a nice calculated guy more so, and lando being the "disrespectfull, immature brat") that the media stick to, even when proven wrong time and time again. People dont stay the same person they are through a year. Lando and Oscar have both grown a lot last year. A lot of fans have a parasocial relationship with their favorite drivers, and they feel the need to defend them as if itll help. its making F1 fanbase toxic, which is why im incredibly glad there are people who CAN still objectively look at things and drivers, even with a bias. Thank you for that.

and it's absolutely okay supporting both drivers in a team or direct rivals!

i was both a seb and lewis fan during mercedes dominant years because them both have been my favourite drivers since i was a child, and that doesn't mean I can like one of them more (in my case, seb)

the problem comes, from my perspective, when fans think that they actually know drivers, who they really are outside tv and social media, and defend them as if they were their very own family members to establish some comparison. i get we all support drivers, and that's amazing, but that doesn't mean we can't be realistic about certain situations when it comes to racing as, for example, your parents or close friends won't be applauding you when you do something wrong (in most cases). sadly it's not only the fans but also the media when it comes to having bias (as i said, my commentators are all the time praising alonso or sainz when they actually don't perform good enough or as expected). imagine if actual "professional" people on the sport do that, what can't fans do?

i always try to be as objective as i can and yeah, i obviously have preferences for certain drivers and get mad when i don't see my drivers winning or on the podium, but i always do a post race briefing to myself judging every single one of them, specially my faves because they don't do always great

if you had to define the word menace, how would you do it? well, that doesn’t matter because menace factually only refers to ni-ki. ni-ki the boy who followed your every move since primary school, all the way to your first year of college. you were never friends, nor friendly. you would give him a pen if he asked, but never expect it to come back. like at all.

you hated him so much that when you saw him as you entered liz’s birthday bash, you audibly groaned.

“what’s wrong?”. ryujin? asked as you sighed.

“ni-ki’s here...”. ryujin followed your eyes and laughed.

“do you want to leave?”. with all the sincerity you could muster up, you smiled at her.

Well if you want all the icks,I can provide them, but it's going under a read more cause I can keep going on about them for awhile:

So, just to put out three things that matter in regards to me personally in how I see these things; 1) I am one of 4 siblings and my parents are 1 of 5 and 1 of 6 and most of my aunts and uncles and cousins all have 2-4 kids, and most of us are close-knit, so family is sadly a big thing for how I was raised, 2) I am asexual and although not sex-repulsed, I really don't care to see characters I like sexualized just to be sexualized and 3) (the one that will cost me followers), I am white, but my family is part Native-American, Mediterranean (only stating this due to my skin tone which is why one thing gets a hard pass from me) and Bohemian (all we know is we are somehow from Bohemia, but it was never divulged if it was Czech Bohemian or Romani Bohemian as my dad's side was fine with discussing what we were, but never the specifics and since we were had always known these parts of us since we were kids, we never looked into it and given the state of my country, no one is really jumping to get an ancestry test done to find out, cause, we know were these things, none of the culture on my dad's side really survived except in very small things here and there, but none of us ever felt that we had to reclaim anything which I see a lot of people getting those tests do since it is new information to them. It's a really weird situation and all of my siblings have different thoughts on race, for example my sister is constantly mislabeled by others as latina and I get middle eastern a lot, neither of which we are, but we both see ourselves as white. There's still more to it, but that's the minimum info I think is needed for my problems with one of my icks.

So, as a kid, I watched BtAS when I got the remote (three kids trying to enjoy the TV at the same time means you don't always get to watch what you want) and my first movie I remember seeing Batman Returns, and Batman was my favorite except for Power Rangers. So the animate series was my first introduction to Dick and Babs, and every time I saw them on screen together, they acted like me and my siblings and cousins acted with each other and they gave my strong sibling vibes. Then Batman and Robin came out and thankfully I wasn't paying too much attention to the plot of them being an item per every movie ever with two young attractive people in them, as me and my brother were too busy enjoying the ice puns. Now, around this time, I hadn't really been keeping up with the show and not sure if we just didn't have the channel anymore or if the time slot had changed, so I was out of luck on it until we got the internet a few years later and I of course wanted to see if I could find anything about Batman or X-Men, and one of the first things I find out is that Babs had cheated on Dick with Bruce. So now I'm trying to figure out how two people I saw as siblings dated, but how someone who I viewed as a father/mentor figure to Babs sleeping with her and as a wise person once said, "It's porn, it's fine there, but in other media, ew." Now, I didn't hate any of them because of it, but it just squeed me out and had me avoid Batman for a bit, which thanks to Teen Titans coming out around this time, was a lot easier.

Teen Titans was a welcome of breath of fresh air as it gave us one of my favorite couples in comics, Robin and Starfire (I'm not going to discuss the differences between pre-animated Teen Titans Star and post-animated Teen Titans Star as it's its own issue and I like both versions, but I do want more of her original characterization of her since the last three things I read with her were just her being sexualized and a jealous ex who just her and Babs being nasty to each other. Now, I'm not going to say I like how Dick and Kori started dating, as a guy who has had both men and women put me in uncomfortable situations, I don't care for her just macking on him, and if that was how I came across the ship originally, I most likely wouldn't have liked it, but since the cartoon was how I found it and I read later New Teen Titans comics before the first few so I appreciated with what it grew into before seeing that genesis. Also helps that Star is one of my three favorite female DC superheroes). And I am a multishipper, but just they were very solid and they ruined for another of my major icks of "modern" Dick Grayson, his writers.

If I am remembering correctly, Dixon rewrote Babs origins, where at first she was going to a Halloween party dressed as a female Batman but fell into Killer Moth's scheme and found out how much she loved crime fighting and was a PhD holding librarian and eventually a state representative. I looked up the age needed and they said it was 25, while Dick was 16-18 at that time, now age gaps are fine if both are adults and you know, there is no grooming feelings about, but given when she would have met Dick, it gives off grooming to me and absolutely not. Now, Dixon got to write her new origin and I'll be honest I glanced over it because of how much I hated it, she was Dick's high school sweetheart, prom date and became Batgirl because of her feelings towards him, because say it with me class, "Dixon is a misogynistic bigot prick," along with so many other issues with him. But reducing her to only being Batgirl because Robin caused her loins to enflame in pleasure irritates me in so many ways, it's not even funny. Then we have Tom Taylor (I'll get to Greyson, but as much as I hate these guys, Greyson is a special hatred due to how pointed it is), who makes WFA look canon compliant and I describe his writing as "licking the clit of the Zeitgeist and only sells books because of gimmicks, SEO, and pop culture". And then he tries to be woke and culturally sensitive and yet he, I'm just going to use a phrase my friend used to describe a guy at college, "He says he's feminist to get into women's pants at a rally, but I doubt he has talked to one for any reason other than to get his dick wet." And I'll be honest, I only read his Superboy run because I needed it for research and the level of dull and lack of understanding on a lot of things just bothers me and after he blamed Dickkori fans fot trying to cancel the artist for leaving Duke out of that cover and calling Kori nothing but T&A for Dick and what he did to his own creation Bea, all of who are PoC or PoC-written, makes me question his actual beliefs on these topics. Dan Watters is fine, and I enjoyed a few of his other things, but given his first one has him doing pet names with Babs, him dating Babs, that long lost sibling (another topic that I could rant on, but suffice to say The Great North is the only medium that has ever done it in a way that I saw as well done and not just for shock value), but the most egregious thing was him going in as a civilian to the mayor's office without checking the office for others and just starts blabbing about the criminals getting blown up as a stranger is right there and he has no reason to know this stuff. That last thing made me close the book, shake my head and mentally scream, "WHY!!!???" I have been told I'm too picky about things, but I'm not going to support materials that I don't care for. If I wouldn't read a fanfic with stuff I don't like, why would I read something I have to pay for with stuff I don't like? I do think his is more from editorial pushing this crap than him personally, but that's just a gut feeling and I could be wrong, but the mayor office bothered me way too much.

Now, as for the biggest writer issue, Greyson. She is a racist, fetishizing, sexist piece of garbage and I hold nothing but smoldering contempt for her. Her declaring that Dick is handsy so he has to be bisexual because no male would do that without sexual intent. A short preview of some common stereotypes of Romani people are they are nomadic and most are usually used in stories as either thieves or some form of carnival workers (dancers, fortune tellers, clowns, etc.) so there is no way that she chose specially Romani than any other reason than he was in a traveling circus, which always struck me as a very racist base, but it gets so much worse (I will admit, I have always hc his dad side being from the UK and his mom's side being from the Balkan countries in Eastern Europe, which yes could include some Romani, but again, competent writers can make all the difference). Then we have the Romani smile and the Romani words, which the first one is a play on "A gypsy smile" which isn't a compliment, it literally means smirking like someone up to something, and as far as my research into the Romani language, most people of that ethnicity would prefer for their language to be kept secret due to their history of it being used to screw them over massively throughout history, so putting a language that the natives don't want shared out there for others to read is an absolutely unforgivable act in my eyes (and some might want it to be shared, I', just basing this off what I have seen and heard from native speakers and books about them). But then we get to the part that makes it much worse to me, Greyson specifically made it know she was horny for Dick and thanks to that and her racism, it taints the whole thing in fetishizing ethnicities which I'm sure most people who have had it done can tell you is extremely uncomfortable to deal with. My sister has been told that she's super sexy for a latina and when I was asked what I was, was informed that was why I had such a sexy skin tone, and guess what neither of us appreciated it, cause it's a freaking weird thing to say to another person, especially unprovoked. So all of that mixed together just has always made that hc just uncomfortable to me, but as I feel I have to reiterate, if you enjoy it, I hold no ill will towards you and am happy you can enjoy it, it just isn't for me because the history of it taints it for me.

2: Writers make him incompetent at his job and reduce women to only to being there due to men (again could go into the 90's and women in comics big time, but I'm a guy and I'm sure enough females have commented it on it and their opinion matters more than mine does on this subject).

3: Fans forcing hcs on others and some people just might have their own specific reasons for not liking what a writer wrote and it can't always just be boiled down to a simple thing and Dick gets it bad in this fandom (lets be honest they all do, but Dick, Damian, Duke and Cass bother me the most.) and then that bleeds back into comics at times to the character's detriment (Tim, Tim, Tim, Tim.)

claudia giggles, and steve winks at her. it's quiet for a few seconds as the two of them enjoy the smile on their faces. tews is purring steves lap and youre not home yet from picking dustin up from jonathans. he hadnt meant to be alone with your mom, claudia insisted he come in when he arrived and shoved a kitten into his arms and now hes here.

claudia tauts at steve and shakes her head. she knows what hes doing, she saw jonathan do it for the five years he spent his childhood within her home.

steve goes back to gently petting tews' head and claudia sighs. she knows she shouldnt intervene, but youre her baby girl and steve seems like such a wonderful boy.

the mother smiles softly at the teen sitting across from her. "jonathan is a lovely boy, ive watched him grow up and bring my y/n back to life after everything that happened when she was young, but i havent seen my daughter glow quite as much as she does when shes around you."

claudias eyes never stray from steve. he doesnt look up at her, but she knows hes heard what shes said by the way his breath catches, ever so slightly. she doesnt want to push him, but she can sense that hes a hurt boy who has been drawn in by your endless kindness. taking a breath, she says, "im happy my daughter has you, steve."

steves breath catches again and he coughs, trying to clear his throat of the shock he feels at your mothers words. in his startle, tews jumps out of his lap and returns to claudia, sending him a disgruntled glare as she settles herself into the womans lap.

"yeah, well." steve coughs again, eyes looking everywhere but at claudia. "im happy i have y/n, too."

claudia claps her hands, satisfied with his response. "good! now, dusty tells me your family is rich?"

a loud and unexpected laugh escapes steves mouth and his head spins at his bizarre the situation is. claudia snickers, pleased with herself, and steve once again sees so much of you in the woman. "dusty would be correct."

"even better!"

neither are sure how much time passes, but eventually their conversation transitions from a weird heart to heart to gossip about the neighborhood. before you arrive home, steve learns about the creepy neighbor down the street named dave, about the couple next door who just had a baby named penelope, and about the dog a few blocks down that once chased you when you were younger.

"the dog chased her halfway across hawkins! i swear, its why that girl now likes that insane hobby of hers." claudia huffs, stroking tews' head once more.

"she likes to run?" steve asks, amazed that he still has so much to learn about you.

"who likes to run?" you ask, stepping through the front door with dustin behind you. when you see steve sitting on your couch across from your mother, your shoulders drop. "oh, no. is my mom telling you more embarrassing stories about me?"

dustins shoulder knocks against yours as he walks inside. "did my mom tell you about the time y/n peed the bed last year?"

steves eyes widen and you jump on top of your brother, strangling him. "shut up!"

you wack at your brothers head and manage to bring him to his knees as you wrestle on the ground. dustin screeches and tries to claw you off of him, but youre still slightly bigger (though he keeps growing more and more every day). its a tangle of limbs and screams.

OMGGG UR RECENT POST WAS WRITTEN PERFECTLY. I am an asexual lesbian and I love byler for many reasons. 1. Because I think WIll is one of the most accurate representations of what it is like to be gay EVER written. Will is so relatable. As a lesbian I have unfortunately fallen for MANY of my friends. There was one notable time where a girl I was really close with accused me of liking her (i did oops) and it became a huge thing. She was disgusted and told anyone she could and it was the worst feeling. So when I see a character in the same situation I am obv gonna want them to have what I didnt. 2. Because Will’s character alone is so tragic and I want him to have a happy ending. I also really like angst and watching sad things. I love crying and movie and tv shows. Every single one of Will’s scenes have gotten me. 3. Because SO many people are SOOOO hateful online. The straight up homophobia over a queer ship is UNBELIEVABLE. I need this people to be wrong SO bad. I want to see them mad I want to see them metaphorically slapped in the face that times ARE changing and that they are the problem. I also think it is the suspense that has been built. I def would love it still and ship it, but if there wasnt so much suspense built I dont think it would be as big. I hate how people always try to claim its sexualizing because not a single thing on here its sexualizing them. Prototype has the memories of every single body he added to his, so his stance on gender is already a bit Funky. In the AU he was originally just Elliot Ludwig, but with every single body added, he started seeing himself more as Elliot and the collective memories. He has trouble distinguishing what is his what belonged to others, but on the other hand, he is not cis. Like. At all. He related too much to certain memories, he understood things he would never have thought of in his original body, he changed. It's not something he realizes happened until Angel explains to him that they are both intersex and non-binary, to which Proto looked at them like "that's an option other humans also have? It's not something exclusive to how I currently exist in my body and to me? It's normal?"

He's bigender to me.

So like! He spent years thinking he genuinely was the only one with such complicated relationships with his gender. And yes, Elliot never learned much about the LGBT community, but once Proto realized Catnap had a small crush on Dogday, he tried his best to make sure Catnap knew it was okay. Prototype's logic was "oh well of course he likes the guy, they're all stuck in this situation together, just like what happened with me when I was still a soldier", not realizing this meant HE wasnt as "straight" either.

Prototype has some trouble when the toys + Angel explain some labels to him. "Well, of course everyone likes both men and women, why need a label for that and not just the ones who chose one over the other?", and Angel almost has a stroke. They never expected to say "Prototype, most people are not bisexual", but they do.

Prototype/Elliot Ludwig is still confused after all explanations but he has the spirit! And for the Prometheus Ship route, the confusion only grows as he starts getting a huge crush on Angel but at the same time said crush doesn't feel 100÷ romantic like what he was expecting. He starts doing better after learning what queerplatonic and being aro is!

Ok! My thoughts on 7x05!

First, i just wanna say that the whole Hen and Karen storyline is awesome! I love that the show is giving queer people so much screen time, especially a Black lesbian couple! And i think its super sweet that they really want to try for Mara! I hope it works out!

Next, i think that has been my favorite cold open so far. The “ITS MEEE” gets me every time (i have already watched it loads of times). I dont have much to comment on it other than it was funny as fuck

Ok. The date scene. I was hoping to see more of Eddie watching them (especially after the stills), but oh well. The second-hand embarrassment i got was… a lot. But i dont think its necessarily a bad thing. It showed how out of his comfort zone Buck was and how he was trying to navigate a terrifying situation. And Tommy? I might have to retract my earlier retraction. Cos wtf?? Literally had just finished talking about how its hard to accept yourself in a “macho” field, then makes a dig at Buck when he fumbles? Not cool. Then not communicating what was happening until he was getting in the Uber? You dont just abandon someone at a restaurant like that. I understand the “you’re not ready” thing, but that was a dick move.

Also, Buck, baby. Sweetheart. Darling. “I look at hot guys’ asses.” Sweetie. Like Maddie said. You are more than an ally lmao. I also just love how Maddie showed interest in getting to know who Buck was talking about and treating the convo after like a normal convo. Because it is! And i love it! But she also emphasized talking to Eddie, because she knew that Eddie would not react poorly. I feel like that just shows how everyone knows how close Buck and Eddie are. TLDR, Maddie is an awesome sister and Buck is lucky to have her ❤️

Next point, the scene where Buck and Tommy talk over coffee. I do think that the hand holding at the end is very sweet and shows how Buck is really trying to be more open, but Tommy is just really starting to rub me the wrong way. Pretty much everything he said contradicts what happened in the date scene. I feel like him being at the wedding is really gonna spark some Jealous Eddie, tho, so i am excited to see that lmao

And Eddie and Marisol? I feel like the show is going in a direction that leads them to breaking up. Like yes, it is showing growth for Eddie and allowed him to acknowledge that he has Catholic guilt, but theres just. No chemistry. It feels awkward. I feel like her being an ex-nun is gonna bring up some issues with Buck and Eddie will not stand for that. I also wanted to point out that i got even more vibes that Eddie could be demisexual, cos he didnt straight up say that he loved Shannon, just that he loved being married to her. And he knows that he is moving too fast and needs to step back a bit

Finally, Buck coming out to Eddie. I do find it funny that Eddie seemed more shocked that Tommy wasnt straight than figuring out Buck isnt straight. But its awesome that Eddie showed interest and genuinely wanted to help Buck through the issue. And the hug? Finally! Give me men not being afraid to hug each other! I feel like this is allowing Buck and Eddie to become even closer (i do hope for Buddie eventually)

Overall, i feel like this episode was great for setting up the development of Buck and Eddie’s relationship (whether it ends up being platonic or romantic). And i am all for Buck exploring his sexuality with someone that isnt Eddie. While Tommy isnt my favorite right now, i do think that he is great for the progression of Buck’s story. I do hope to see more of Dad!Bobby in the coming episodes and how Buck’s parents might react to Tommy. I dont wanna wait three weeks for the next episode 😢. Im ready for the chaos of the Madney wedding

⭐️ he doesn’t panic that much and he’s very caring while you’re sick. he kind of hates cooking as i said in an earlier headcanon but he pushes that to the side as his main focus is taking care of you. he doesn’t let you get up from your bed unless he has to change the sheets and even then he just carries you to a chair. he’s not very afraid of getting sick so he’ll lay beside you and mess with your hair or just to keep you company, especially if you’re cold. he doesn’t hesitate to get up and get you an extra blanket if needed, or something else if the room is too hot. he’s very good about checking your temperature and getting you any food and water you might need, like i said before his only focus right now is making sure you get better.

𝐄𝐃𝐖𝐀𝐑𝐃 𝐇𝐘𝐃𝐄

⭐️ doesn’t do as much as jekyll, but he tries his best (kind of.) he’ll mostly stay away for the most part and check up on you every few hours, but he doesn’t want to get sick. surprisingly, he’s actually pretty good at cooking and doesn’t mind doing it so he’s on it if you’re hungry. if he does stay in the room, it’s most likely in a chair beside your bed where he just rants about whatever until he gets bored or you fall asleep. he won’t ever admit it, but he actually kind of likes taking care of you. if you fall asleep uncovered by a blanket because it was hot, he rolls his eyes and covers your body with his jacket because the blanket might be too hot and his jacket will be better with keeping you cool. he’s weirdly gentle when your sick but never at any other times.

𝐑𝐈𝐂𝐇𝐀𝐑𝐃 𝐄𝐍𝐅𝐈𝐄𝐋𝐃

⭐️ he doesn’t really know what to do. obviously he really wants you to get better, but he’s completely unsure of what to do. the second he sees you’re ill he panics for the first ten minutes before calling utterson and explaining the situation to him. after talking to him for awhile, not very long but still a significant amount of time, his attention is back to you. he asks you what you need and what you want, what he can do for you, all of that. also doesn’t want to get sick but he’ll stay in the room, probably just in a chair a few feet away. if you ask him for anything he’s up and getting it before you have the full sentence out. also very willing to offer his jacket if you’re cold, has run down the hallway and tripped to get it for you before. he’s very worried the entire time you’re sick.

𝐆𝐀𝐁𝐑𝐈𝐄𝐋 𝐔𝐓𝐓𝐄𝐑𝐒𝐎𝐍

⭐️ he’s probably the calmest of them all, close to jekyll. he already knows what to do. he has you lay in bed all day and is careful to keep his distance but is also never that far away. you don’t even have to ask him for food or water or to hold your hair back (if it’s long enough) if you throw up, he’s already doing it. every few hours he’ll reach over and place a hand on your forehead to check your temperature and keeps track of if it gets hotter or cools down, he calls for medical attention the second it’s unhealthily hot. if he has to go out and do something because he’s a busy man, he always leaves somebody in charge of making sure you don’t get even more sick or injure yourself in some way, and he’s very strict with making that clear. you’re only sick for a few days with him because he’s very quick and skilled with getting you back to good health.

𝐇𝐀𝐒𝐓𝐈𝐄 𝐋𝐀𝐍𝐘𝐎𝐍

⭐️ another one who’s very calm and quick with making you better, he is a doctor after all. even if he’s not that kind of doctor he’s still skilled with making you feel better. he’s very good at cooking and makes foods he knows will be easy to stomach and gives enough of it where you’ll be full but won’t throw up. every once in awhile he’ll come back into the room and have you sit up in bed and he’ll brush your hair and get you to go to the bathroom to brush your teeth or shower or whatever. once your body is a bit more healed and you aren’t dizzy much anymore, that’s when he’ll start to let you get up and get your own things but it really depends on what it is and how far away. if it’s down the hall or across the room he won’t stop you, but if it’s down the stairs or across the house he’ll convince you to let him get it for you. your healthy quickly with him as well, even quicker then with utterson.

𝐋𝐔𝐂𝐘 𝐇𝐀𝐑𝐑𝐈𝐒

⭐️ she’s kind of worried the entire time. not completely but definitely isn’t very calm about you being sick. lucy herself hasn’t been sick much in her life so she’s not very experienced with taking care of sick people so she’ll ask you what you need and/or want. water, food, drinks, something to throw up in shes on it. she doesn’t really care if you get her sick and even if you do she’ll still be more focused on taking care of you then herself. she understands that sleeping with sick is difficult, so she’ll read to you or just rant about her day or sit there quietly depending on how you feel and let you rest your head on her shoulder/lap and play with your hair as an attempt to help you sleep. like i said she’s not very experienced so the entire time she wants to call jekyll or somebody for help but she’ll wait until she feels it’s completely necessary before asking for help. she might not admit it at first but she secretly didn’t really mind (liked) taking care of you.

as for itafushi, i think its something above 'friendship' and more like 'camaraderie' - coz i think characters who went through life or death situations multiple times together would just automatically have that kind of bond. but to be very honest! i wish we saw more of them outside of jujutsuing some kaisen, just because i would have loved to see that bond develop outside of fights. because it seems we only ever just see the result of that bond and never the actual bond, if im making any sense? but i still do think they're probably what you might call 'platonic soulmates' with how quickly they both mutually trusted each other.

in the beginning i wasnt really convinced about their 'friendship' coz it just came out of nowhere that megumi wants to save this kid he just met. granted, he did saw yuji go back to save his friends meaning yuji is a good kid - still that was sukuna ryomen megumi was letting reincarnate just coz he wanna save one person.

but what made me like their friendship a little better was that moment before the start of the goodwill event when megumi noticed something was bothering yuji. no one else noticed that, and yuji wanted to brush it off like its nothing. but one look from megumi and he admitted there was something actually - but that its okay now. i think thats cute that they can sense when something is bothering the other, even though they only knew eachother for a few days.

and on more moments after that, they seem to understand each other really well. like, the fact that sukuna's reincarnation was the cause of all those random curses awakening/getting stronger and both of them not wanting the other to know coz they dont want to hurt each other. or when yuta was trying to convince yuji that it wasnt his fault back in shibuya but yuji wouldnt accept it - but when megumi came in he accepted megumi's words and understood it. they have a very special bond where they mutually have an understanding, and i think that's very cute.

with that said though, i wish gege could've given us more moments of them all together - including nobara - because on the surface it looks like they're all just acquaintances who didnt have much time to get to know each other enough for their bond to be called friendship. although i do think they have a strong camaraderie, i wish their bond as first year students was shown a lot better - especially since we saw them meeting for the first time. for example, with gojo and geto - we dont need to see them gradually getting to know each other because we as the readers saw them for the first time when they're already friends. but with itafushi, we needed more time to see them gradually be friends. but what happened was, these characters strengthening these bonds behind the scenes, and every time we see them we are only seeing the result of that.

i dont know if im making any sense, but gege seems to struggle with writing character relationships that he actually have to show the audience - this is more noticeable with how he handled tsumiki and megumi's relationship. gege relies too much on us just thinking 'oh, maybe they bonded while we weren't looking' or something like that. imo, gege seems to not know how ((or does not want)) to show characters gradually being friends, coz its either some kind of sense of duty (megumi) or its some memory thats forced upon these characters (todo and choso), just so the characters can jump from strangers to bestfriends/brothers from the get go.

i think i rambled way too much and made zero sense, but what i wanna say is that i believe that yuji and megumi's bond is something that's above friendship - and is a very strong sense of camaraderie and responsibility for each other. and while i did see it, i just wish gege showed that a lot better and made the strangers to comrades to friends transition a whole lot visible.

also one real post about this and like, plenty of ink has been spilt on how disconnected watcher entertainment seems to be from its fans but i think the missing piece here is how disconnected watcher is from the rest of youtube. when the catastrophe hit i went to all my terminally online friends, the same way i did after the hbomberguy james somerton video, or after the ned fulmer fiasco, or the creepshowart scandal etc, or every time jenny nicholson dropped a new evermore video, including the ones behind the $2 patreon paywall we all gladly pay for, and for the first time...

no one knew who i was talking about.

these are not insulated people. these are people i can trust to have at least name recognition of almost any youtuber i mention. they know downtherabbithole and strangeaeons and cjthex and kappakaiju and miniminuteman773 and kazrowe and somemorenews etc etc etc

so when i put in the group chat, with no context, 'he wasnt even on cribs' or 'we have no cats kathleen' or 'only humble pagan commune schemes' or whatever, i usually do so with great trust that at least half the group will know what im on about.

this time, crickets.

i backpedaled a little and pulled up the 'ive connected them' meme and the fuzzy blue professor, and i got nothing at all. the only recognition i got was when someone belatedly realized that he had seen the goatman video when it dropped (although he had no idea that they had their own company now), and another person remembered that they had offered to collab with danny gonzalez, a youtuber with twice the subscribers

because she had checked back to see if danny went ghost hunting again, and lost interest because he hadnt.

i also brought it up in my dedicated buzzfeed unsolved group chat but ummmmm i am the only one in that group still watching ever since the shift to watcher oops

the only splash they had made in my again, TERMINALLY ONLINE friend group that watches hours and hours of youtube a day was a buzzfeed video seven years ago, and when they had failed to collab with someone more famous than them. i found myself in the unusual position of having to explain the situation to a bunch of dirty internet gremlins, all of whom heard the whole story and said 'why would they do that'

not 'why would they do that to their fans' but 'why would they do that as youtubers'

even aside from the moneygrubbing, we watcher stans were confused about why they tried to offer us a service we didn't need or want, and i think it obscured the confusion on why they thought it was a good idea at all, when so many other models were available to them. why werent they using their patreon like other youtubers? why weren't they collaborating with other youtubers? why weren't they putting out regular, lower quality content like other youtubers? if they wanted higher quality content, why weren't they partnering with nebula, like lindsay ellis, or netflix, like bo burnham. why didn't they run their ideas past someone like the green brothers, who have jumpstarted scishow and many other similar projects successfully, and are famously good to work with/consult with? why would they try to pull a roosterteeth? don't they know what happened?

and i think the answer is no. i think they just don't know those things. and they didnt bother to check, because they think all those things are beneath them. because they think corporate content is the only worthwhile kind there is.

why else would they think they have to have an office building, keep dozens of people on staff, buy expensive cameras, and build a streaming platform? why do they only collaborate with actors and singers who have corporate entertainment approval? why are they reinventing the wheel on buzzfeed when thousands of youtubers build perfectly stable careers with a mic and a camera, and sometimes hire an editor?

i guess my takeaway from this is that, at least they didnt break my heart as a fan entirely because they fundamentally misunderstood me. they did it, at least in part, because they do not understand how youtube works, or what part they play in it.

they dont understand how people use youtube. it is not a cinematic event worthy of the big tv, it is line goes up playing in the background for the 400th time as i wash my face and put my laundry away.

that is why they spent months and months planning this without ever noticing it was a bad idea, while millions of youtube viewers knew instantly. thats why they didn't start with a more moderate solution, why they never used their patreon properly, why they cared so much about the production value, why they thought a youtube audience, any audience at all, would jump at the chance to leave youtube.

bc youtube as a creator sucks, and we all know that, but youtube as a viewer is extremely comfortable. all i ask of youtube is to be mildly interesting in the background while i do other stuff. it is filler. some of the filler is extremely good, yes, but there is no room or reason in my life to give more of my money and attention to my filler, let alone to get a bigger screen for it.

and honestly, this is why i and others stayed on with the ghoul boys even though their quality dropped. because it's filler. im not even looking at the screen you apparently spent 100k on. im flipping my eggs. im washing my hair. im waiting for the bus with my headphones in and my phone in my pocket. thank you for being my background music. in return i will sit through your ads and push your view counter up by one. i may even hit the like button by accident bc my phone is in my pocket.

this is not to say i dont enjoy my filler. i would absolutely die without it. but it is not and never will be exchanged for the instances when i make popcorn in The Big Bowl and turn on a Real Movie on the Big Screen (my old laptop that is 15 whole inches) with my phone turned over so nothing can distract me.

my filler can't be my movie, and vice versa. nor should it be. but watcher doesnt understand that, apparently. they think youtube is cruelly preventing them from being netflix, and they think we want netflix, and they don't understand that, even with that half-assed apology that they didn't explain their dream correctly and they are jsut so destitute they had to take extreme measures after they went to europe 6 too many times...

there is a fundamental misunderstanding about how people use youtube , both as creators and as consumers. they didn't just misunderstand their fanbase. they continue to misunderstand the entire ecosystem. idk guys. maybe you should have learned something from those youtubers that you apparently think you are too good for.

and as for me, welp. i've booted people from my filler line-up for less. and there are soooooooooooooo many other fish in the sea, and they are not asking me to pay them 27 corporation salaries from my own pocket. they are asking for me to bump their view counter up by one.

goodbye boys. i really hope you find a way to fulfill yourselves artistically or whatever. but you have burned this particular bridge, like. forever. and i don't think i'm the only one who feels that way.

and not because i dont support people getting a living wage, you guilt-tripping vultures, or because i dont believe in following dreams and wishing on stars and whatnot.

but because i prefer to consume content from people who know what they're doing, and i simply no longer trust that includes you.

actually we just got back from an appointment ☺️ and he s mad at me

@dr-footloose knows this lesbian doctor lady and so i took my man in (he was really fighting it but i told him he could get prescription drugs.. i didnt think they would give him anything strong that he would want but there was still that possibility )

So i went in with him because i said i only could schedule it if we went in together (he hasnt been to the doctor since the 90s so he didn t really realize thats not a thing)

Anyway we see the doctor and he doesnt wanna talk so i explain the situation to the doctor (both of us are getting older and hormones are all over the place)

And she asks us some questions about mood (when i set it up on the phone i mentioned that it was a big concern for peter but the situation needed to be handled delicately because.. of his mood )

Thats when peter realized this wasnt about the drugs this was about getting help

He starts yelling and i point at my man and nod to the lady . This is exactly what im worried about .

So she s very calm and she asks my man his habits , every single thing he does in a day and how he feels

He says he hates everything and besides spite he has very little else that keeps him motivated

She asks him what it was like growing up, knowing you were different?

This is where he started to trust her.. she recognized he was special .

He gave some reluctant answers

Then she asked about his teenage years , if he had difficulty with puberty

Then when he was an adult and he was in college

He actually talked about why he got a divorce and the major events that led to that and how bad his ex wife was for his health because they were both angry people

He talked about how much he hated men ❤️ (kind of sort of ignoring me 😉)

He said this Jigsaw case was awful and my department was so slow and how its so frustrating 🤣

Then the doctor lady had to clarify if we were actually in a relationship or not , he admitted we do it

She asked him how it s changed his mood He got real flustered , probably because i was grinning at him

He said it s a good place to put his stress and get his anger out

She said is he okay with that ? (She meant am i okay with him doing that)

I said Yes of course ! thats what i m here for!

And she gave me kinda a weird look

Then she asked peter if he thought I was experiencing the same mood intensity as he was

He said i ve always been this way

She asked him again, 'do you notice anything wrong with your partner's mood'

He said yes hes too nice to me I laugh and he shoots me glare

He explains that he never asked me to be nice and that i should lay off him

The doctor lady was nt buying it.. she asked him if he could see the two of us together for a long time. Like even when the jigsaw case is over

He looked very uncomfortable . He didn t answer it. So she looked at me.

I said i'm open to whatever peter is wanting . She looked frustrated but clearly (and peter knew this) she could see right through my man

He groaned and asked if he needed prescriptions

She asked him why

He said '... for my mood?'

She said maybe . But she wanted him to make an effort on his own first

. He immediately said no, and she said fine, have some mood stabilizers.

We walk out of there and then in my car , hes reading the paper she gave us on menopause and the prescription and he scoffs because apparently the pills are weak or something . He cant abuse them so hes mad about it (im not supportive of his drug use and i do not want anyone reading this to think it is okay or cool to do. My man has problems , ok? But im finally getting him help )

So the rest of the car ride back to his place is tense

He doesn t invite me in to screw

So im back at my apartment

bro is just the smartest most cunning and intelligent guy ever. like yeah hes hot and strong but we NEED to talk more about just how much of a strategical GENIUS this man is. he knows just how strong and skilled he is which means in any situation he can immediately judge whoever hes up against and instantly know just how much strength and power to use to win. like he knew in book 6 the second he wasnt gonna win against the styx ppl and knew when to back down but every other situation he knows just how much power to use to win which they like confirm in book 6 he uses just enough to win and never more because he can perfectly judge a situation and like ik on the surface what most people notice about leona is how strong and powerful he is and i mean yeah hes like one of THE strongest people in nrc (in my personal opinion second only to malleus in magic but still more physically strong and more strategic than him) BUT WE NEVER TALK ENOUGH ABOUT THE CUNNING GENIUS THIS MAN IS he is so aware all the time and always knows exactly whats going on, so many events and chapters hes always mentally 5 steps ahead and knows whats going on well before anyone else. i cant remember the exact example but like in the halloween event from this year or smthn he like had a total understanding of the situation long before anyone else cuz hes just so smart and like hes smart like book smart but more importantly hes just aware in ways no one else really is. and about him being book smart i fully believe leona would have some of the highest grades in nrc if he applied himself. the few times he does he does like better than everyone else AND THATS W HIM SKIPPING CLASS SO MUCH imagine if he actually tried and went to class hed 100% have the best grade this man is so intelligent he just sees no reason to go to class because it is frankly useless to him he already knows all that stuff which is why he skips he already knows it so whats the point. like everyone sees leona as lazy but the stuff leonas lazy about is stuff that theres no point to try because he already knows hes better than everyone and thats his thing he doesnt need anyone elses approval he knows where he stands and feels no need to prove his worth to anyone else and i think thats actually so admirable. like for how much we say his low effort is depression (which it deff in part is) its also definitely him not feeling the need to prove himself to anyone because he knows how great he is and doesnt care if anyone thinks other wise because he knows theyre wrong so who cares. and i know he has a big ego but like.. HE CAN BACK IT UP. his ego is all from his own skill and talent this man NEVER claims something he cant back up which its like... ur ego is annoying but whats more annoying is theres valid reasoning behind it because HE JUST IS THAT GREAT

so i fully believe if leona had a significant other hed do everything to give them anything they could want. a lot of fics i read paint leona as this guy who wont really do something for his partner, or will just make someone else do it, and while in some cases i do believe hed deff like make ruggie go grab something or smthn i also believe hed want to take care of his partner. like sometimes its difficult to take care of yourself, but oh so easy to take care of someone else because its not you. and i fully believe this would apply to leona. if he has something, and its his he 100% takes care of it. he will put in the effort for someone else. he wont put in the effort for himself but for his partner? in a heartbeat. like even somethin small and typically annoying to do the only complaints youd hear are joking ones while hes already doing whatever you asked. and he also deff knows what to do for his partner before even they know. like i said before this man is canonically sooooo aware and that would deff hold up in a relationship. rarely have to ask for anything because hes already guessed what you want and is on it. also a lot of time i see people saying leona would want to brag about their partner and while i think this is true to an extent i also feel like hed want to keep his partner all to himself. something for just him that no one else needs to know about, or have their own opinions, or make their own comments.
