sometimes i like to think about what their initial conversations with their editors must've been like. i'm sure they made sure they'd watched a ton of deppy's videos and had boned up on the lore so that they could get an intuitive sense of their style, but do you think they were like, "look. people like when we look at eachother, they like when we touch, they like when i smile fondly at phil like he's my little sunshine, they like when we share dumb little stories, they like when we flirt, they like innuendos, so just zoom in whenever you see us being married on main and the rest is gravy"
do you think they asked them to survey the replay spikes on their vids? do you think they felt exposed or is it just more matter of fact by this point in their careers?
#it's just funny to think about them trying to be clinical and professional in describing their whole thing and i'm sure they've had to#do that in a number of work settings over the years. try to explain the je ne sais quoi of their appeal#and their quirky in-joke upon in-joke approach to editing#it did feel more personal when it was just them editing because like. they SO get it. and you could also see what they thought was funny#and see what weird brain synapses were firing for them when they watched themselves back which was fun#but i totally get that the time element was just untenable for a well rounded life#phan#dan and phil#me yapping

i'm powered by wanting to make things but i'm extra powered by wanting to make/give my friends things that'll make them really happy even if it means i gotta do loads of work first
#i'm making us some custom gameshow rounds for our holiday next month (with custom buzzers and im gonna get a bald cap and a suit to sell it)#and i'm 3d modelling a gift for one of their birthdays and now i gotta figure out how to make a snail contain a car/even just the wheels#and ive got a list of funny things they've said so i can whip it out when we're bored (it's like 5 years old!)#i've started a list of things i think we'd enjoy doing together too#like making a bingo together for the next fnaf movie#i love my friends so much they're so cool :>#i feel kinda lackluster in the effort i put in compared to them still#i'm bad at the little things i think#or not brilliant at the least#at stuff like texting and talking or phoning or organising actual group trips#but i will drag an elaborate project to their front door so we can play fun games together#god i really wanna start making stickers so i can just... give them stickers#im like a reverse magpie i will just drop something shiny at your door and watch you recieve it

Been thinking of making a tierlist of my thoughts on all the teams for a while so here it is!! As you can see, I am indifferent to or hate most of the league... 😶🌫️🫣 which is why I generally say I'm more of a Canucks fan than a hockey fan lol
#a lot of these rankings are emotionally charged and based off of the fight for the western conference wildcard spot right now...#apologies to any of my mutuals that are fans of teams in the lower tiers#to be clear there are still players on the teams in “actively praying for your downfall” and “oh you exist” that I like#bedsy on the h*wks#flower on the wild#sid on the p*ns#not a player but my queen jessica campbell!!#etc!!#also note that there is quite some distance between the top tier and the one following it#i do like those teams but nothing comes close to my canucks brainrot#i fear becoming attached to this team at the ripe age of like... 3 might've caused a permanent shift in my brain#the reason i'm somewhat attached to the leafs is so stupid#like it's largely because i like most of the current top players there and feel bad about (and relate) to their first round struggles#and i feel like the canucks and leafs are paralleled in so many ways. that's a whole other tangent.#but like. when i was a kid before i knew what the hell was going on#or how to read. i thought the leafs were just the canucks. because they both wore blue.#as you can guess i was a brilliant child.#one of my first memories is being posted up in front of our big bellied TV and watching a nucks away game against the leafs#and just not being able to tell who were our guys.#in my defense the canucks had a lot of alternate jerseys so it felt viable to me that that could just be another one#for the sharks it's mostly because i'm a sucker for an underdog story#(NOOO way REALLY??? a canucks fan??? obsessed with underdogs? never woulda guessed!)#and for the hurricanes it's. i don't know really. i think i liked that “bunch of jerks” marketing tactic from a couple seasons ago#anything mocking don cherry gets a thumbs up from me#and a player (i think his name was zach??) on the canes (at the time) liked my shitty canucks edit on instagram one time in like 2018#and my friend and I freaked out about it#i wonder where he is now.#anyway i've typed an essay in here but that's okay. #pdbc#I love him. he’s the sole descendant of a royal family and. if you’ll pardon the pun. is royally fucking things up for himself#he could do so much in life and instead decides to be the next Gordon Ramsay……..such wasted potential#did. did I ever mention that part of him. his clan is called the Ramsay clan after all#he wants to be Gordon Ramsay sooooo fucking bad…….#big theater kid gone wrong energy from him#so many of my posts this year have been pdbc related. it Will happen again.#< (in my defense I’m working on other non-pdbc stuff !! but pdbc stuff is easy to make because I don’t have to think about it)#once I’m not so burnt out I’m really excited to design bingo….not even going to attempt to rn#I hate designing outfits but I’m actually looking forward to his bc he has a horrid mix of royal garments and astereotypical butcher outfit#speaking of butchers. butcher vanity? great song absolutely fits him. cannot stop listening to it#surprisingly him being like. a literal cannibal isn’t even all he does. that’s just a…little quirk of his#like ya’d think him eating people would be more important but nah. he’s a POET and a MAGICIAN 😤😤#I’d say he’s one of the most evil characters but…..kinda all of my characters are#sure bingo tries to eat people and bomb people’s homes but there are side characters who put acid in the water supply and aren’t punished#so bingo’s just par for the course honestly#the best thing he’s ever done is install an air conditioning unit. there wasn’t one before bc Mole (his mom) didn’t like them—#—which resulted in people keeling over from heat exhaustion a lot so. good job for fixing that bingo#it’s the bare minimum but that’s pretty good for him so he can have a round of applause for that#I think I might have mentioned Gerbombs in passing but I love them sm#they’re gerbils genetically engineered to blow up when pressure is placed on them#they’re adorable. thankfully they have no concept of death so they’re just chilling with no worries in the world#before you get sad. Sushi rescued most of the Gerbombs and now cares for them so happy ending#no Gerbombs shall die under her watch. I don’t think I could deal with it if too many Gerbombs died#although they’re called Gerbombs they’re actually more physically close to jerboas#they’re so cute. I should draw a Gerbomb sometime#(I should also probably rename them jerbombs considering they’re not gerbils but ehhhhhhhhhhhhh)

✌ 10 more pages to edit on this round, and then i get to review dialogue (not too worried about that), do some light double-checking, and enter the final round of editing (listening to the automatic text-to-speech program to doublecheck grammar and stuff)
#all the care guide says is 'biomass'#i'm smiling because i eat skin: the fic#honestly with the way i do dialogue i don't have to edit it muchhhh#mostly because i like it coming off a little rough and weird#because. yaknow. people talk a little rough and weird!#ironically it feels more natural to me if it gets a little stiff or badly worded at times#especially when the character is being emotional or thinking a lot#mostly the dialogue that i'm editing is. well. royalspeak.#where they talk very properly all the time and watch their words way more than everyone else#who also should sound way more alien than characters who talk stilted in a sort of natural fashion yaknow#mostly i'm hoping i don't start falling asleep as i enter the final round of editing#because that kept happening to me last time... awful#its not even that what's happening is boring its just having a computer read over things that you wrote#that you've already read over like 4-5 times#this also happened when i was reading it aloud but i also killed my voice at the same time

lowkey had a lot of my love for monte carlo riding on delusion that holger would win so the fact that he not only lost first round but had to retire cause he was ill again im like 😐 ok
#i hateeee to say this because i feel like it makes me sound so bitchy and whiny#but im kind of struggling to find joy in tennis as of late#not because i've lost interest in it but because what i love so much about it is like...the competition u know#and i feel like all of my favs have been getting run over by a metaphorical bus as of late#not necessarily in terms of results but in terms of vibe#iga and carlos are in similar spots where like. the results in all honesty are fine??#but its like. so demoralizing to then have to hear everybody have a say about them both not meeting expectations#at least carlos is taking the pressure off himself but with iga its like barely even fun to watch her play bc im anticipating her cracking#karo and holger are both flopping or injured or both#the longer novak goes without winning another title the more on-edge i get for each upcoming match#plus im always worried about his old man body#i love elina dearly but i cant count on her to make it past like round 3 and even those first three rounds are a struggle#and somehow amongst all of this JESS has become the most reliable and relaxing of my favs to watch?#which is nuts?#like its not that im truly not enjoying tennis anymore#i think it was just like. there used to always be /someone/ to fall back on who was doing well#especially last year iga and carlos covered most of the year#so even if it was a bad week or two i could always be like 'oh but remember when two weeks ago iga won xyz'#or like 'oh carlos is still in on the men's side even if the women's draw didnt go my way!'#so i guess both of them flopping at the same time is making it hard (they're not even really flopping but whatever)#and even when they were both flopping last year that was right when karo made her comeback and i was riding the high of that success#its truly not even the bad results! its just the stress im getting from watching#i know im never going to find it *relaxing* per se bc im just too intense about sports#i just need to get back into the mindset where i find tennis exciting rather than stressful i think

The worst crime a version of Jekyll and Hyde can commit is be unappealing. If you aren’t anticipating the next scene no matter how unpleasant it will be then it has failed.
#one of the easiest ways to make it unappealing is make one of them annoying as fuck which is what tgs does to hyde#unpleasant as he was 31!hyde had me wanting to see more scenes with him even if they were revolting and harrowing to watch#because he was well-written and well-rounded and you could tell there was a twisted logic to what he did#all I could get out of tgs!hyde is ‘jekylls annoying little brother that doesn’t like him and farts on his hand and holds it to his face’#like even when I read and liked the comic I was like……. so when is he going to become compelling?#he never did suffice to say#I never got to see the so-called ‘depth’ of the character the fans yap about because by separating him from jekyll you’re denying him depth#suddenly he’s not a psychosexual reading of jekyll but -again- his annoying little brother that always gets away with petty crimes#you’ve typecast him as THAT which is way less interesting than older adaptations do#as much as I like to see hyde be morally complex I also want him to be acknowledged as an intelligent mature adult#even if a very fucked up and emotionally stunted one#not to mention tgs has influenced the fandom for the worse and now it’s hard to find hyde content that doesn’t paint him as it does:#an annoying little brother figure that is more aggravating than disturbing. an unappealing husk#and like. are you aware of how DIFFICULT it is to make THE Mr Hyde unappealing? uncharming? uninteresting?#and yet. and yet.

Okay I found this “sweater recipe” knitting pattern and why is it so stressful. “Cast on a number of stitches that looks like a decent neckline to you” my sister in Christ what do you mean???
#i’m not actually like MAD mad but i’m confused and stressed lol#i feel like this pattern is aimed at people who have made sweaters before and kinda-sorta know what they’re doing but want someone else#to do the maths for them#which is SO valid and i appreciate that the maths has been done already#i have just never; in my life; made a sweater before LOL#i have made… four cardigans? all of them being for babies#the only wearables i have made for adults have been crochet tops#(and obvs hats and socks etc)#like i’m an experienced knitter but i have NO idea what a neckline is supposed to look like LMAO#i also had to run all over my house looking for needles for this because i realised it was in the round#at first i was like ‘maybe i could magic loop it until i get all the stitches increased enough’ and then i was like ‘what the fuck. no’#little known fact about me; i don’t like magic loop. i also don’t like working in the round in crochet#unless it’s a granny square i’m going to get lost and confused in .2 seconds#i love knitting in the round though. but i prefer dpns to magic loop. i don’t know where my dpns in the sizes i need are#so i’m definitely magic looping the sleeves :/#it’s fine. we’ll get there when we get there#i’m going to take my anxiety meds and find a horror movie to watch. which sounds counterintuitive but trust me on this#personal
