YES!!! absolutely theyre underrated as fuck. there’s so many little moments that make it so clear that they love and care about eachother so much and how even though they seem different they’re so similar in their goals and beliefs and the more time they spend together they both realise that too. like bugbo goes from seeing gerbo for the first time and thinking “what a simple-minded guy” to realising he’s ALSO super strong on and doing the right thing and morals and rules n stuff but he’s just more laid-back and less abrupt and bugbo actually coming to really admire gerbo and want to be more like him for that reason . Bleh

Mildly annoyed by the sudden slew of posts complaining about queer coming of age stories without any self awareness over the fact that the poster is not the target audience. "I don't want to see another movie about a teenage boy discovering his sexuality and navigating his identity and experiencing high school romance" yes babe that's because those movies are targeted at 15 yead olds and you are 28.

Your points are all valid! I hate that while watching a really interesting, well-put together episode of a show I love, I thought, god the internet will be insufferable about this for a week. That shouldn’t have been the vibe at all. Obviously certain elements of storytelling will speak more to different people, and that’s the joy of the craft, but I get so irritated watching entire pieces of art trashed because the story doesn’t 100% suit the viewer. Slight twist on the topic, but it’s how I feel when people go “season two of Yellowjackets SUCKED because my fave had a bad time” or “this adaptation is trash because it left out my personal favorite detail”. A story can go south because of bad storytelling, but there’s a difference between “bad” and “wasn’t for me”, and I wish folks would accept that nuance with a little less hostility.

I also think it’s kind of weird to just give characters the homophobic/transphobic headcanon just because of how they look or how their attitude is?? Completely insane

Also just saying criticizing/negatively questioning people on their lgbtq+ headcanons for characters is literally insane. It’s called a headcanon for a reason?? It’s never been confirmed except for a few characters?? Like come on, let’s be serious for a few moments !

theres something kind of annoying to me about how ever since the first sonic movie came out, when discussing potential additions to the cast the common default assumption people have for every single character sonic is friends with has always been that they would become sonics adopted sibling or cousin or something even if they dont have a family type relationship with him at all in the games. but almost nobody is even considering the idea of something like that happening with shadow and are saying that sonic and shadow are gonna fall in love or whatever instead and that this is gonna be the so/nadow movie etc etc
