DIY Popcorn!

For Christmas, one of the things I asked for was this cool make your popcorn thing but you put it in the microwave and it looks like a coffee carafe? I like eating popcorn, its a keto friendly snack, but when I was making dessert boards I thought it would of been nice to throw something on there home made that was different. Like caramel corn with chocolate, or finally having enough butter...or playing with types of butter (like pumpkin pie spice butter popcorn). Really the possibilities are endless!

This thing is awesome. I love myself popcorn, but the biggest difference between store bought and home made...is freshness? It tastes more like corn and less like salt? Other things you will need after you get your main tool: 

Kernels

Butter (Liquid/Solid)

Seasonings/drizzles

Holders

For this particular tool, you fill it once for half a bowl...twice for a full bowl. The Butter had proportions of butter to kernels, my first try was two lid fulls of kernels/3 tablespoons of butter/3 minutes in the microwave. Most of the kernels were done, and none of them were burnt. I did not have seasonings or try other flavor profiles yet.  

Now, here some fabulous things you can do with it once you have it: 

Buttery Goodness Popcorn: Fill the lid twice for a full pot, put those in a bowl and drench with movie theatre butter. Put them in the pot, take solid butter and put it on top in the lid, put in the microwave for 4 minutes and sprinkle with seasoning once out and into mini popcorn tins (or one larger tin if you are not sharing). 

I look forward to trying out other recipes and branching out...but for now I steadily enjoy popcorn without the BS, and maybe a couple more dishes than before. Give it a go and tell me it doesn’t change your life and popcorn pallete...
