Episode 6
Issha always too good for her own good
Mercy kill.... Protecting Jinx.
Why does Jayce always fuck everything up. Always.
That last bit with Issha...
The watercolours with Vi and Jinx and their mother
The fact that Caitlyn was already calculating how to get rid of Ambessa (but, once again, non lethally). Saw her chance.
Them working together so beautifully. Ah they were almost there
Episode 7
That was the most beautiful episode I've seen to date. What. WHAT.
I forgive all absence of Ekko before this point.
Oh. Jinx. Powder.
Where did it diverge????
Vi got killed by hextech. I think she stopped Milo from getting blown up? So, Mel and Viktor never lent their support to Jayce to develop it further? There was no incursion by Enforcers because they never escaped and because of that, Silco never...Vander managed to de-escalate the situation by being so heartbroken?
But Vi died. Jayce was probably disgraced. Viktor is probably already dead or dying. Caitlyn...who knows. Never met Vi. Will always be without her...
Is the implication at the end of this episode that Jinx may try to develop hextech? She has more blue shards...
God that dance scene, god. It was so beautiful. The kiss. Wow. Fav het ship top three in one damn episode. What. And then she sees the alternate universe Ekko...his real face
But she gets to keep hers.
THAT HEXTECH DESTROYED WORLD WAS SO AMAZING SCARY AND CREEPY OH GOD

Face-sitting with The Who.
West Palm Beach, FL, September 24, 2000.
[22:27]
John: Okay, I get to speak now. Hop along! Why are you putting up bloody cushions up? Must be heavy.
Pete (off-screen): Oh John, I could sit on your face.
More below.
Roger (off-screen): He’s the only one here wearing his jacket.
Pete: Even more perverse— even more perverse than that, I could sit on my own face.
John: That’s good— that’s a good trick. Okay, this one’s from Who’s Next album? It’s all about something I don’t have anymore, it’s called “My Wife.”
Later on in the concert - [43:56]:
Roger (off-screen): Bobby [Pridden, sound engineer], why haven’t I got one of them? Oh, that’s better!
Pete: My monitors feed it back into my— it’s a technical matter, Roger. It’s technical. You don’t have all this gear I got ‘cause you’ve got them things in your ears that make you look like you’re deaf.
Roger (off-screen): Well, I am, Pete. I really am.
Pete: Also make you look a bit like a doctor.
Roger: Well that’s— that’s part of the fun. That’s the upside.
Pete (off-screen): Probably part of your attraction to the females is they want you to play doctor with them.
Roger: Some of them! It’s been known.
Pete (off-screen): Can you stick that thing on my heart? Can you sit on my face?
Roger: I shan’t answer that.
Pete: Y’know, she’s made this cushion and he— oh, thank you.
Roger (off-screen): Y’know we’re gonna have to sign it. She’s making— have you made me a suit?
Roger: I could do with a suit, I’m going to a friend’s wedding in a week’s time.
Pete: This is another song from Who’s Next album. We should call this— we should call this tour ‘The Who plays Who’s Next over, and over, and over, and over again’ tour. 35 years. Y’know some of the best writing I ever did, and y’know what, I’m actually still fucking around with the same idea. I still find it endlessly satisfying and stimulating. This is a song about music itself, and it’s just called “Getting in Tune.”

i literally cannot believe what i just read
..failed to settle a legal dispute over whether state abortion bans OVERRIDE a federal law requiring hospitals to provide stabilizing treatment
what the everloving fuck is happening in this country rn
the supreme court, the highest ‘justice’ in america is legitimately trying and FAILING to figure out whether hospitals are required to give patients stabilizing treatment?????? they’re trying to figure the legitimacy of (i.e. find a loophole around) federal law??? are you joking???? it’s like a bunch of elementary school kids are being quizzed on a book (the constitution) they just read!!! what kind of jacked up backwards timeline are we living in right now???? this is honest to god my last straw
please, please vote.
it’s absolute pathetic baby steps, and unfortunately this is where we are right now as a human race (for some strange unfathomable fucking reason) but at least if you vote blue you’ll be able to live another day. doctors and hospitals won’t be outright hijacked by politics and you can go to the hospital without fear of literally dying in a place that’s supposed to save your life.
Biden administration tells doctors they must provide emergency abortions | AP News
The Biden administration told emergency room doctors they must perform emergency abortions when necessary to save a pregnant woman’s health, following last week’s Supreme Court ruling that failed to settle a legal dispute over whether state abortion bans override a federal law requiring hospitals to provide stabilizing treatment.
In a letter being sent Tuesday to doctor and hospital associations, Health and Human Services Secretary Xavier Becerra and Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services Director Chiquita Brooks-LaSure reminded hospitals of their legal duty to offer stabilizing treatment, which could include abortions. A copy of the letter was obtained by The Associated Press.
“No pregnant woman or her family should have to even begin to worry that she could be denied the treatment she needs to stabilize her emergency medical condition in the emergency room,” the letter said.

my sister has been telling me she doesn’t like animation, like as a medium. largely anime, but also just any animated show/movie i bring up? i asked why and Clearly the answer is that she thinks it’s cringe & for kids across the board, but what she said was “i don’t know, i don’t like…the kind of stories they tell”
i’m like girl. animation is a MEDIUM. and she was like “yeah i know, but i feel like the characters and stuff are all the same”
this from the one who reads contemp romance, a genre famous for being formulaic

Imagine: Familal Yandere Stanford AND Platonic Yandere Bill, who are both obsessed with Dipper and Mabel.
REAL AS HELLLLLL!!!!!!!!!
---
“Isn't this great?” Grunkle Ford asked, taking a seat beside Dipper on the Living Human Flesh couch.
Dipper ducked away from a six-fingered hand attempting to ruffle his hair. “That's certainly an adjective you could use to describe this situation.”
“WOW!” Bill shouted (as if he had any other means of emoting.) “A three and four-syllable word in a row! He really is a chip off the ol’ block, Sixer.”
Dipper could feel Grunkle Ford's eyes on him, practically beaming at the thought that he and his grand nephew were so alike, so much so that they could be considered father and son. Never mind that it was said by an interdimensional demon.
An interdimensional demon that also happened to be currently braiding his sister's hair as they sat in front of a fireplace in the ‘penthouse suite’ of the Fearamid.
One might even think it a sweet moment between an odd family. Two great uncles, one attempting connection with his nephew, the other lounging in a recliner and trying to pretend everything was normal. And his sister, being doted on by what was one of the most powerful beings in the universe, if not every universe. Mabel might have looked happy to anyone looking in from the outside, but Dipper knew his sister better than he knew himself. If she were truly happy, she'd be grinning ear-to-ear, gabbing a mile a minute, talking to Bill about all the hair styles they could try and how he should manifest himself some hair so she could braid him next.
But no, she simply sat in silence and let Bill work through her locks. She forced a smile and stared into the fireplace, flinching whenever Bill moved too fast.
It made Dipper sick.
And maybe, maybe all of this could have been passable if this were something Stanford had been forced to do in the heat of the moment. Something he'd regretted. And that's what he claimed.
But Dipper knew. He knew Stanford was lying. He was enjoying all of this too much for him to regret it. How stupid was Dipper to think that the biggest con artist in their family was Grunkle Stan when it was the guy grinning in his face, yucking it up in the face of destruction and tragedy just because he got to play house with Bill - his so-called mortal enemy.
He wanted to believe that this wasn't Ford's plan all along. Wanted to believe that his great uncle had been corrupted or mind controlled or tortured past the point of sanity. That this wasn't what he'd set out to do from the beginning. But Dipper didn't know what to believe anymore.
“WA-BAM!” Bill snapped a full-length mirror into existence, allowing Mabel to see what he'd done to her hair, “Whaddaya say, Shooting Star?”
A simple French braid, with little glittery stars woven into her hair. In any other case, Mabel would have been ecstatic. But now, Mabel simply looked up at the demon, an unsure grin forced onto her face.
“Thanks, Bill,” She managed, not able to look him in the eye.
“Ah, ah, ah,” Bill waggled a finger in her face. “Try again.”
Mabel's face sank momentarily and she locked eyes with Dipper. The look in her eyes… It was like she was trying to scream so many things at once through expression alone. It felt like forever, the twins trying to communicate to each other in silence, but it was probably less than a second. If seconds even existed anymore.
Then, Mabel looked up at Bill and put on her best smile. “Thank you, Grunkle Bill, I love it.”
‘Grunkle Bill.’ Ugh. Dipper couldn't help the disgusted grimace that made its way onto his face. He thought he'd hated the triangle when he was actively trying to kill them all, but that was so much worse.
“See that, Pinetree?” Cipher whipped around, floating above the boy. “Why can't you be more like your sister?”
“Oh, Bill,” Ford waved him off with a smile and roll of his eyes. No malice, no contempt, just exasperated fondness.
“I'm just sayin’! We're trying to do family bonding over here, but Pinetree and Fez are being a coupla sticks in the mud!”
“He and Stanley just need more time,” Ford replied, speaking as if either of them weren't there.
Dipper felt sick. Sick from anger, sick from betrayal, sick from utter disgust. Bill's actions were understandable from the perspective that he was a creature from a different dimension. A monster without any need to identify with human morality systems. But Ford was human. A human with family and people who loved him and trusted him and counted on him. A human whose world had been destroyed because of his allegiance to a monster. Because of his feelings for a monster. And he just expects them all to be okay with this? To smile and clap and nod along and pretend everything is okay?
Mabel spoke up, drawing Dipper from his thoughts. “Well, um, Grunkle Bill, if we're doing family bonding time… Would you wanna meet me and Dipper's parents?”
“Say, that's an idea,” Bill turned to Ford. “Whaddaya say, Fordsie?’
Dipper whipped his head back to face his great uncle. He bit his tongue, holding his breath. He felt himself screaming from behind his eyes, trying to will his uncle with his gaze, hoping his expression was enough to implore him to say yes, to be merciful, to at least give him and Mabel their parents back.
“I…” Ford breathed. “No, I don't think so.”
“WHAT?” Dipper couldn't control his outburst, his shout loud and sudden enough to make his great uncle jump.
“Sixer, c'mon,” Stan spoke up.
“You said it yourself, Stanley, the only ones you count as family are the children.” Ford countered.
“That was- I didn't mean it.”
“Still,” Ford crossed his arms. “I have no loyalty to them. This is for the best,” Then, the old man turned back to Dipper. “You'll understand one day.”
Dipper glared up at his uncle, baring his teeth so hard he would have sworn they would have broken. But then, a noise broke his concentration.
He turned to see his sister, her sweater pulled over her head as she rocked back and forth, sniffling and surely crying underneath.
“AWW, now look what you did, Pinetree,” Bill chided, daring to pet at the bit of hair that peeked out of Mabel’s sweater. “You made your sister cry!”
“Me?” Dipper balked, incredulous.
A six-fingered hand came down to Dipper's shoulder for a comforting squeeze - and the boy bristled with rage, wrenching himself away and off of the couch. Every inch of Dipper's body was over one with disgust, with anger, with hatred. Just looking at Stanford made him sick.
“I hate you,” Dipper spat, trying to fight the tears welling in his eyes. “You're a monster and you're not my uncle anymore.”
Just for a brief moment, Dipper felt satisfaction at the look of absolute hurt on Stanford's face. Then, he all but dove into his Grunkle Stan's hold, burying his face into his jacket. Stan held him protectively, one hand holding the back of his head and the other rubbing soothing circles into his back. And for a few moments, Dipper can pretend he and Mabel were back at the shack and he'd had a nightmare or something and needed reassurance from his uncle. Something he should have grown out of, something Stan would give him shit for later, but even still, Stan would have let him settle into the recliner and drift off to sleep to the sounds of Gravity Falls’ public access TV.
“Please, he didn't mean it,” Mabel's voice was barely above a whisper as she pleaded. “Don't be mad at him.”
“He's just scared,” Stan added, holding Dipper tight. “We all are.”
“There's no reason to be,” Ford insisted. “Dipper, please, look at me. You're my s- my, my nephew and I love you. None of this is meant to hurt you.”
He sure had a funny way of showing it.
He could hear Bill let out a frustrated groan. “Alright, I think this has gone on LONG ENOUGH.”
In a flash, Dipper was suddenly back on the flesh couch, cuddled up next to his not-so-great uncle Ford. He couldn't bear to look at him, simply staring ahead. At his sister. At the fire. At Cipher.
The triangle spoke. “Now, kid, I get this is a big change and all, but the only reason Gravity Falls and all your little friends have been left untouched is because of your uncle here. I think you should be a little more grateful. That is… Unless you don't want your friends to be safe?”
A sneer overtook Dipper's face. All of the anger boiling inside him threatened to burst out in the form of calling Bill every curse word he knew - and even the ones he didn't.
But he knew better. Dipper gritted his teeth. “No, I do.”
“Then, I feel an apology is in order!”
“Sorry,” Dipper mumbled noncommittally.
“Not to ME, Pinetree,” The demon laughed. “Though, I appreciate the thought!”
Dipper let out a shuddering sigh. Slowly, as though just looking in Ford's direction took great effort, he managed to meet his great uncle's eyes. And he had the gall to look condescending. As if Dipper were just a child throwing a tantrum.
He hated him. He hated him more than anything. He couldn't believe he ever believed in him, ever obsessed over his work, ever thought he was great, ever thought he was a hero, ever thought to leave behind his sister to follow someone like him.
“...I'm sorry, Great Uncle Ford,” Dipper spoke robotically. “I didn't mean what I said. I don't hate you. You're still my uncle.”
“ANNND?” Bill egged him on.
“And. I love you.”
Ford had the audacity to smile. To open his arms wide. To ask, “How about a hug?”
Dipper felt he had no choice. As he was wrapped into a hug by the man who'd betrayed his family, betrayed the world, betrayed the universe, Dipper let himself bury his face into Ford's turtleneck. At least he could hide his tears now.
For a second, it felt as if his hat had disappeared from his head. A four-fingered hand ruffled through his locks affectionately. Then, his hat was back in place.
Dipper fought not to be ill.
“Say, how about an ‘I love you’ for your Grunkle Bill, huh?”
“Not now? Eh, that's fine! We've got an eternity for you to come around!”

Paul and Linda Interview from Hellllllll
@slenderfire-blog as the patron saint of good sources sent me this interview and I thought I would write it up as it gives a worrying insight into the famed idyllic marriage and Paul’s mental state at the time.
Reader, it was not idyllic and he was not doing well.
Disclaimer: For context, this interview is in his Broadstreet era aka the grief/midlife crisis/I cant have a meltdown if I’m making a film period. I fully believe that Paul was having an extended emotional crisis/breakdown post John's death/successive unresolved and badly handled traumas. (As I was saying to @slenderfire-blog, let's just say if he feels like crying every damn day about John in 2021, imagine how it was in 1985.) So yeah Paul is having a time and I look forward to McCartney Vol 3. for potential confirmation and illumination on this.
At the same time JESUS FUCK PAUL THIS IS TERRIBLE.
Like so bad, bad to the point I now feel like contemporaneous Peter Cox account is 1000% more credible as this is essentially the PR version of what he said. So let's get into the greatest hits:
The happy, definitely-not-in-trouble couple
They do seem to adore each others company, be locked in with each other and Paul does rely on her a lot for support and approval:
As they talk, Paul constantly squeezes Linda’s arm reassuringly, strokes her hand or looks to her for approval or agreement whenever he makes a point. The two are inclined to talk at once or to finish each other’s sentences. At times, the link is so tight, they seem almost like different aspects of one person.
Though at the same time they both describe the relationship as 'rather volatile' and full of arguments where they go and sulk in different rooms. They lightly play it off but then Linda says a bit too seriously that shes usually the one who gives in first :/.
Paul built the house they live in and are sort of obsessed with cosplaying living the 'peasant' lifestyle with no help save one housekeeper Rose who is from Paul's bachelor days and the occasional babysitter (as far as I'm aware this is true).
The marrying thing in 68 was so intense he even asked lil HEATHER to marry him what the hellllll (of course he wasn't serious but it does feel like another way of indirectly pressuring Linda to commit). He also kept asking Linda until she gave in.
Random swipe in the baby name department at Zowie Bowie, lmao not friends with the Bowies then (good thing Duncan Jones happens to agree).
They romanticise the bickering and volatility as being like passionate young lovers
“My parents were married for 25 years and they were like young lovers,” says Linda. “Paul’s parents were the same. If you’re lucky, you get that in life. You see, those are the kinds of things that matter to me—not the diamond necklace.”
Paul:
Paul is clearly not okay and seems to be regressing by trying to recapture his childhood through his current situation. Throughout the interview Paul keeps going back to his parents marriage and his childhood as the ideal frame of reference. This is pretty standard but Paul takes it to the extreme of this meaning no friends, family only and the wife do all of the labour.
This (save the misogyny) is a far cry from his 60s revolutionary kick but I can see how this happened in the wake of the Beatles split, the trauma and complex grief from John's death and the press. In response and defense to the criticism and hurt, Paul seems to have retreated wholly within himself and his family sphere and is coercing Linda into fulfilling the role of the wife within that. Take for example, his portrayal of the housework and why Linda should like to do it:
“Linda really doesn’t like housework,” Paul explains, “because when she grew up, her family had maids and she wasn’t taught to do anything. But it’s something I’ve tried to tell Linda about because in the kind of family I’m from, housework is considered a pleasure—the smell of ironing and the laundry. Where I’m from, once a week, the women would sort of get the laundry out and smell the washing and feel it and see it and iron it all, and they’d be chatting or listening to the radio. It was like a peasant thing. It was an event, like treading on the grapes.
It's bonkers and infuriating and at first I was like I DONT KNOW PAUL IF YOU WANT THE PLEASURE OF SMELLING DETERGENT SO BAD YOU CAN DO THE BLOODY LAUNDRY. But then you realise how Paul connects it with comfort, especially with comfort after a bereavement:
“Growing up in Liverpool, that was always there for me. Even after my mum died, my aunties came around religiously every week and cooked and cleaned the house and did the laundry and provided that kind of atmosphere for us.”
It's romanticising the poverty he grew up in but also signifies to me how much it's a coping mechanism. He wants Linda to do the laundry and have that idealised maternal domestic atmosphere as in his head if you have that then you can carry on even in the face of cataclysmic loss.
Denny Lane's comments about Linda being like a mother to Paul feel really pertinent here. Reading all this has kind of reinforced to me this idea I've had for a while that Linda's maternal attributes was one of the foundational pillars of Paul's attraction to her and an essential part of their marriage. In another interview I'll post another time, he says they never went on holiday without the kids, with them taking tiny Heather on their honeymoon. It wasn't just tours, the kids really did go everywhere with them when they could and they made sure the children's bedrooms were just next door to theirs so they could be there all the time. It's great, wonderful parenting but also with the genesis of their relationship it's really hard not to see Linda and the promised family as the replacement to fill the hole from the Beatles. Not saying that he didn't go on to adore them and them be the pinnacle joy of his life but yh ... once you see it it's hard not to unsee. (Also the thing I've always been too scared to say/wild speculation again I don't know these people ... but I think they would have always had these problems until Paul actually reckoned with his mothers death/other traumas.)
Thinking about it all as well, it must be so hard to essentially cosplay the culture and background you grew up in with wealth and class separating you from everything you used to intimately know
Aggressive optimist Paul telling a very different story here (is he more honest here, more depressed, or maybe somewhere in the middle?)
“I’ve got all these contingency plans. I tend to look at the worst side of things. I’ll say, ‘If they turn us down, we’re going to do this.’ If anything hurts me, I want to fight it—so it doesn’t hurt me again.”
Nothing to add just ... ouch.
Reinforcement of John refusing to let Paul hold Sean because Paul 'didn't know him' ... which yh that is some bullshit its a baby. Paul goes onto mention how John wasn't great with babies as he had no experience whilst he had and somehow makes it borderline a competition lmao.
HALFWAY THROUGH I REALISED THIS WAS THE INFAMOUS PLAYGIRL 'JOHN SAID JEALOUS GUY WAS ABOUT ME' INTERVIEW. I NEVER REALISED LINDA WAS THERE.
Not him essentially saying 'in hindsight maybe Linda needed a lot of lessons' for Wings and admitting he just wanted her there. They both seem to accept it as something that wasn't fair to expect of Linda with no training.
He does this embarrassed little giggle like 'oh I may be a chauvinist YES YES YOU ARE SORT YOURSELF OUT.
Linda ohh my GOD Linda girl
She has rings around her eyes from exhaustion
Gets up at 7am to do the breakfast every morning despite going to bed late
Said she didn’t want to get married again initially as she had been controlled by men all her life until then
Says her kids are her best friends and that she never had a friend until she moved to Arizona later on (this is interesting to me that both Paul and Linda both saw themselves as 'loners' in childhood even though interviews from people in Paul's childhood repeat that he was popular. Maybe this was a narrative in their marriage or maybe Paul always felt internally lonely).
Qualifier here: I also don't think the best friend thing is true, there are a few people that pop up over the years who say they were very close to Linda and one did a lovely interview with Paul post Linda's death. I think the whole 'family is all you need schtick was part cope and part PR.
From apparent tradition Paul says that he doesen't tell her how much he's worth and their money situation as 'his dad didn't tell his mum' (even though his mum was integral to financially supporting the family may I remind you Paul). Linda girl listen I can make you happy I can give you a good life and treat you to nice things come with me Linda-
Theres one point where Linda PANICS because Paul mentions the supposed socialist uprising potentially taking all their money because HE WON'T TELL HER WHAT THE FINANCIALS LOOK LIKE. THIS FUCKER (also socialists Paul you're a northern liberal get a grip you class traitor)
They both romanticise living frugally with Linda not buying any nice fancy things ... its hard not to remember Peter Cox's account of Linda asking to borrow money when reading this :(((((
Linda's idea of a luxury holiday is not having to cook and clean and she can have fun :( Paul then interjects with 'yh that's great for a bit but not all the time as isn't it nice to have the family all in the kitchen!!' I'm sure Linda would agree if you actually helped Paul.
In summation: he needs help and a slap, she deserves a statue but would probably prefer a sit-down. Thank god there’s a lot to suggest that Paul has improved massively when it comes to his view on women and labour (wouldn’t have married a working businesswoman if they hadn’t) but this is still a difficult window into how things were in the 80s and the life that campaigners like Yoko were fighting against.

I..uh think something like..snapped in my brain. Was doing stuff with a friend that is into feederism and don't remember anything we did at all. I got drunk and stuff but lately I've been really getting cravings..and eating stuff I normally don't. Been cutting veggies out and just eating tons of meat which i never do, drinking booze and soda with everything pretty much, snacking a lot more..my belly has been feeling heavier too. And I'm like ahhhh what the hellllll is happening. And he keeps acting like nothing happened when I have no idea what he did but I've been just..completely different and it's so weird.

Clingy dew thoughts
Dews super clingy and cuddly in the mornings and refusing to let go of the person he fell asleep cuddling.
Aether carrying dew in his arms while he's making coffee cause he's not awake enough to deal with the whining if he tries to let go of dew.
Kitty dew being twice as clingy because he can crawl into pockets and easier to carry he doesnt care what's happening as long as he's getting his cuddles all the time.
Oh YES Dew is clingy as Hellllll
When he was a Water Ghoul and had a lower body temperature, Ifrit was his usual victim been as he was significantly warmer.
During his recovery he was usually always glued to Aether. Part necessity as he liked to keep an eye on the now-Fire Ghoul but also because Dew was in a lot of pain and often needed pain relief via Quintessence to do even basic things like pull a pair of sweatpants on.
After Dew recovered, everyone became his target.
He'll sleep inside of Aether's shirts while he's wearing them, or curl up on Mountain's chest. He'll find wherever Rain is swimming and forcibly demand some underwater cuddles. He'll find a pile of Ghoulettes and plop himself down right in the middle of it, and Swiss is subject to waking up with Dew's face pressed into his tummy.
When he's a kitty, he's very small so he'll climb into Aether's infirmary bag as he leaves and hop out in his office, usually climbing onto his lap or between his horns. He'll hop into Mountain's pockets and bask under the growing lamps in the greenhouses too.
Phantom's most susceptible to Dew's obvious ploys but they are also just as clingy so neither can complain. Phantom's cat form is a little bigger than Dew's, so it's not uncommon to see black cat Phantom wandering with Dew on their back.

Hello.
May I request Eli Jang x FEM! Reader angst. Pure angst
Misery.
Female Reader
Requested.
Request Rules
Masterlist
YOOOOO THIS IS LONG AS HELLLLLL!!! I got carried away while writing.
Tumblr media
Everything was perfect.
It truly was, [Name] and Eli.
They were happy, truly happy. They go to the same school, they are in love with each other and are dating.
Even if Eli Jang had a daughter, [Name] accepted and treated Yenna like her own even if they were still in high school. She loved his daughter and his family.
But there was something always nagging in the back of her mind.
Her parents.
They were strict, harsh when it comes to her schedules. Monitoring her every move and controlling every aspect of her life, her parents doesn't know she's dating Eli, her classmates doesn't know. Only her close friends know.
They'll never approved of her dating Eli, she was in the Fashion Dept. to become a fashion designer like her mother and Eli? He's a high school father, who doesn't have a family and is a runaway living with other people who have no families too. Even if they live well, her parents won't approve of such background.
[Name] was scared, she was careful. She has to be careful of making sure her parents don't found out, she had heard of the story between Eli and Heather and Hostel as a whole from Sally. She vowed herself for their story to not end up like theirs, she promised herself. She doesn't want to put Eli in another misery.
She was careful of making sure her parents didn't found out that she was skipping after classes or that her trip to the library was a lie, [Name] didn't want to pull away from Eli and possibly be transferred to another school.
Eli was only her comfort zone, her safe place. She never had time to do anything, things she wanted was always rejected unless it advanced her studies, and she wanted to be selfish just this once.
She wants to stay by his side till they grow old.
"Eli." The black haired hummed and looked at her. "What is it?" He replied sitting beside her, they were at the rooftop of the building, looking at the night stars together while everyone was inside, watching a movie together. She leaned her head against his shoulder. "Do... do you think we'll stay like this forever?" [Name] asked as Eli placed his hand on top of hers, his eyes glazing over her. "Why do you ask?" Eli asked before looking back at the twinkling stars.
"I-It... It's just that I'm afraid of my parents... what if they found out and force us to breakup?"
Eli was quiet, glazing his thumb over her knuckles. "Maybe it's time to tell them?" He said as she looked at him. "What?" She let out in surprise, he looked down at her. "You should tell them about us... I'm scared... what if happened to Heather and me.. will also happen to us?" Eli said, [Name] could hear the tone of fear in his voice, he was afraid.
Afraid that [Name] slip away from him like how Heather did.
[Name] frowned. "... it.. is it a good idea?" She asked. "I don't know... but maybe it's better than letting them found out.." [Name] nodded at his words, he was right. Maybe if she tells them, they won't be as pissed..? SHATTER!! [Name] flinched when the glass of vase was broken by her mother, the angry look her parents had made her shiver in her stand. She never found them as angry like this before. "What?!" Her mother came to her and gripped her shoulders heavily. "What do you mean you are dating?! Especially some boy who is an orphan?! No less who's a father?!" Her mother harshly yelled, tears prickled in [Name] eyes.
"Is that why you also had been skipping your after classes?!" Her father yelled angry as he slammed his hand down on the counter. She was quivering in fear, she was afraid. She didn't know what to do or what to say to lessen their anger.
"YOU'RE SKIPPING YOUR AFTER CLASSES JUST TO SEE SOME BOY?! AN ORPHAN BOY WHO HAS A CHILD?!?!" "NOT TO MENTION HE'S LIVING WITH OTHER ORPHANS AND MAKING MADE BELIEVE FAMILY?!?!" "WHAT WERE YOU THINKING?!?! YOU THINK A BOY IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN YOUR FUTURE?!" "N-No... it's jus-" Her father slammed his fist against the kitchen counter. "WE HAVE GIVEN EVERYTHING TO YOU [NAME]!! AND YOU ARE WILLING TO THROW EVERYTHING FOR A MERE BOY?!" His voice boomed through the penthouse causing [Name] to flinched.
Her mother sighed and leaned away from her. "I can't believe you [Name]! To think you'd date a mere lowly orphan!!" She said as [Name] clenched her hands. "He's not! He's not some lowly orphan! He's a great guy! He's kind and caring! Even if he's an orphan and has a child, he's a great father to his daughter and is studying to be make a better future for her!!" Her parents sighed, her mother kissed her teeth. "I can't believe you [Name], clearly that boy has poisoned your mind." She said as [Name] flinched at her words. "What? Eli is not poisoning my mind! I have done everything on my own accord!" She said as her father shook his head in disappointment at her.
"You're not seeing that boy anymore." "U-Uh..? what..?" [Name] eyes widened at her father's words. "You are not seeing that boy anymore." He stated as [Name] shook her head furiously. "NO!" SLAP!! [Name] looked at her mother who had just slapped her. "Go back to your room or else." ---
After that, it went downhill. [Name] was now homeschooled. She wasn't allowed to go out of the penthouse without the bodyguard her parents had hired just to monitor her moves.
Her phone was taken away making her unable to contact Eli, it broke her heart. She so desperately wants to text or call Eli, just to see him or hear his voice. It broke her heart to know everything went wrong. "[Name]?" She looked behind and saw Sally, she was out buying stationary items along with the bodyguard. "Sally?" She let out as Sally approached her but was stopped by her bodyguard. [Name] looked at her bodyguard. "I-It's fine! She's a frie-" "Your parents instructed to not let anymore near you or talk to, even if they were friends from your school." Her and Sally's eyes widened at what he said. "B-Bu-" She wanted to protest but got dragged away, she looked back and saw Sally confused and hurt face.
She mouthed "sorry" to her before turning to look away.
"What?" "You're going to study abroad, miles and sea away from that boy." [Name] eyes widened at the news, she was going to be transfer school overseas. What was going to between her and Eli? How was she going to tell him? Will he think she abandoned them? .... maybe... maybe this was for the best.
Maybe, it's best to let him think she abandoned him. Than to let him know that her parents disapproved of him and that was the cause of her being homeschooled.
She'll worry he'll blame himself and Eli has already enough of that.
---
"So... you're Eli?" "Yes." Eli...
Eli was kneeling in front of [Name] parents, he heard that they were planning on sending her to school overseas and also because he hasn't heard of him.
He can feel the cold and disapproving stares from both parents, he then felt a sharp grin on his chin forcing him to look up and seeing [Name] mother angry face.
"So you're the boy that caused [Name] to skip her after classes and lie to us. You... you turned her like one of you..."
She sneered. "How dare you poison our daughter's mind." She raised her hands and began to slap him across his face, her husband watching by the side with a cold stare as Eli let it happen.
SLAP!!
"You delinquent."
SLAP!! "You don't deserve [Name]."
SLAP!! "How dare you make my baby girl disobey me and her father?" SLAP!!
"I know.." The mother stopped and stared at him, his face red from all the slaps. "I know... you don't approve... of us... but... I truly love her." "You.." [Name] mother bit her lip hearing Eli's words. "I love her more than anything, I'll do anything for her..." Eli said causing [Name] to get even more irritated. "You...!!" She raised her hand and was about to slap him but stopped when she heard her daughter's voice called out to Eli. "Eli..?" They looked and saw [Name] standing by the kitchen, clearly had just gotten out of her room. Her eyes widened seeing Eli on the round kneeling with red cheeks, she realized on what happened. "M-Mom..? Wha- What are you doing to Eli?" She said as her mother only smiled. "I'm, simply reminding him of his place." She said as [Name] eyes widened even more. "What..?" "You see... this boy needs to be reminded that, he's a pest. How can he make sure you are safe and happy? By what? Taking care of his daughter when you are still high school? This boy is nothing but a delinquent [Name], he's a bad influence on you." She raised her hand once more to slap Eli but stopped when [Name] held her arm. "Mom, please. Don't, Eli did nothing wrong. Mom, please..." [Name] pleaded, Eli eyes widened, surprised to see [Name] in tears, begging and pleading for her mom to stop an let them see once more.
But her mother only stared at her with cold eyes as her father looked away. "Chan... locked her in her room.." The bodyguard bowed as [Name] eyes widened as she begged and her parents to let them see each other and to not hurt Eli as she was dragged to her bedroom by the bodyguard.
The door slam shut as the three were left standing in the living room, her mothers stared cold at Eli. "See? Look at what you've done, you made my daughter cry and beg like some sort of dog because of you.." She sneered.
"Don't you know people like you only cause misery to others? She's better off with a guy who doesn't have a background like yours." The words swirled inside his minds, he knew, he already knew that. He heard those same words before, he does nothing but cause misery to others.
Maybe... maybe... there right...
He's done nothing but cause misery to other people.

since we don't really know anything about the curtis' extended family i feel like that means that the brother's parents weren't close to them and of course there has to be a reason for that (and if there isnt lets just pretend there is) so could we get some hcs for somehow all of them getting together to celebrate the holidays and they learn that reason?? whatever it may be (also get the shepards in there because i looooooove them, perhas even some little things of them defending the brothers for whatever reasons)
rubbing my hands together i was actually thinking of something like this earlier
•lets say the reason y the curtis parents arent close to their own is bc mrs curtis was a soc who got w mr curtis (who was a greaser, duh)!!! her parents aint approve and they ran away, andddd thats how the curtis parents ended up where they were
•mrs curtis said they never saw her part of the family bc they were too far away, while mr curtis said his part of the family were dead (and he was kinda right, he meant they were dead to HIM but now a good portion of that family IS actually dead, whoops), non of the bros rlly questioned it nor did they have a HUGE curiosity for visiting em, just something they never questioned
•howeverrrrr, mrs curtis’ family did know about pony, soda, and darry, bc mrs curtis sent some pics of the family bc she did always miss them, but they never responded to those letters, untillllll
•one day!!! darry found a letter from their grandma, for their mom!! it was around the holidays and she was wondering if she wants to come over w the family (begrudgingly mr curtis too) to celebrate it w the family after years being apart, and darry just, didnt know how to react to that
•he didnt immediately tell soda or pony, he would just reread it over and over, wondering if he should respond, and if he did how the hellllll was he gonna tell her she died years ago,,,,
•when darrys in doubt, he confides in tim cause he thinks tims the closest hes gonna get to someone understanding how he feels and hes not even wrong!!! a drink w tim is like darrys therapy, but this time all tim could do was listen, this situation too fucked up even for him😭😭, all he said to darry was that theres no wrong decision for him here, he was forced into it, so whatever happens, he tried his best w what he was given
•since the holidays were approaching, darry realized he would have to tell pony and soda about this too, he feels its especially unfair for HIM to decide for all of them, shes their grandma just as much as she is his after all
•now for soda, out if the brothers hes always been the most curious about meeting his extended family, but finally having that chance and the context behind y theyve never seen em, i cant say hes saying a straight up “yes” to this, he wants to go but its not gonna b the way hes been hoping for, for years, so would it really b worth it??? would they b accepted even if theyre greasers???? this could fuck up his holidays for the next few years depending on how traumatizing this is!!!
•ponys just like darry, hes not saying no, but also saying yes either, hes so on the fence about it. of course he’s learned not to judge soc’s, but this is so much more personal and TIED to him, is he mentally ready to face on all this bs???? he dunno
•pony remembers the multiple times his mom said he looked just like his grandma and would stare at him, and he could see darry staring the same way at him, it kinda freaks him out and makes him feel bad, he cant look darry in the eyes</333
•he opened up to curly about it n curly was crackin jokes, he cant take not SHIT seriously 100%🙄🙄, BUT like tim, he did have just one thing to say, ur not obligated to do it, dont base this off of ehat ur parents wouldve wanted, do it how U do
•feels like this would also mean that if ppl found out about the situation, they would see the curtis’ as “lesser greasers” bc in their eyes, they were greasers by choice, but anyone who questions the curtis’ identity shall b beaten or intimidated by one of the shepards and their goons
