Favorite thing about them:

I like that he kind of subverted the trope he seemed to be going for! I already answered the same thing in your ask regarding what exactly made him turn around and abandon everything ( x ), and honestly I DID need to answer that question to myself first of all so thank you for that one! x)

He feels like the trope of a guy who is very smart with books but not a smart person, or rather, "knowledge does not equal wisdom"! Like, you know this trope! And a very pleasing trope to latch onto, because we all knew at least one person like this! One who is very well-informed, a walking encyclopedia, but either doesn't make real sense of this information or misses the main point in all these facts and details! Well... nonetheless, he understood something not even we have: Marika's true wish!

He understood the lie of "consort of Marika", and why exactly she shattered the Elden Ring! He understood she wanted to end the vicious cycle that existed as long as she does, and sure she did not want another one to start by Elden Ring being repaired! Unfortunately, "a God can't die" (though she probably hoped Hewg and someone he helps would find the way?), so the best he can offer to approximate her wish is to gatekeep the Elden Ring endlessly!

Not only he understood what we, who seek Lordship, didn't. Being the head of the Roundtable Hold was THE massive chunk of his life, his main accomplishment. He gave all this time, research and even many deals with his own integrity for the purpose that the called Tarnished were promised. He lived hell knows how long and the lie of Two Fingers was all he ever knew. And yet, as soon as he glimpsed into truth, his instant reaction was "alright then, new plan". A typical trope of this character would've had a severe cognitive dissonance at least, a pathetic reaction of rejecting the truth at most. But he just... rolled with it. No denial, no despair. Instantly embraced the fact that everything he's been working on was a lie. How many people do you know that take having their whole world shutter THIS well and simply accept the new facts?

This is commendable. He might have made many mistakes in his life and appeared arrogant and became cold, but he passed THE one trial for whether he really values knowledge that mattered the most. He, in the end, lived up to what he aspired to be with no struggle beyond "shuddering in fear".

Least favorite thing about them:

Oh, I definitely agree that it got to be the way he disowns Nepheli, but it speaks more about him. Because this is the same trait that allows him to take Ensha's death as just an inconvenience that must not distract him any longer! Ironically, it is simply the other side of the trait of his that I JUST praised above!

He is quick to adapt and bounce back from the stress, true... But he is also quick to severe the bonds if his goals or situation calls for it. I do not believe he never cared for Nepheli! The way he talks about her, both words and his voice tone, betray respect and affection.

And yet he later says he "no longer has a use for her".

The man can't get mentally staggered by anything, which is his power, but a power that comes with a price. ....that usually other people will pay. He will instantly move on from a breakup, not shed a tear at the funeral of a loved one, bounce back from betrayal as though he never expected anything to begin with, and he definitely, DEFINITELY won't hesitate to cut the ties if the hold him back! Does this man have a heart? Can truly lasting, deep bonds be formed with him, if he doesn't let anyone's hand hold his heart strings?

Strange, how the same trait can be commendable strength of the character in one instance, but a rather repulsive callousness in another, don't you think?

I do love all of his nerding, but him being salty about Seluvis felt sooooo satisfying! xD I don't know why, this dialogue just always makes me smile! It is both the sense of "being against the same bitch" even if briefly AND knowing that he is not wrong though. >:3

I was talking about his callousness that doubles like strength of the character for a while, right? I feel like he was friends with Dolores and Seluvis before he developed to be like that, in younger years!

It is not quite like Gideon that we know now, to cut the ties with someone because they've harmed a person he cared about and not because "they are no longer of use"! More than that; whatever you say about Seluvis as a person, but I'd say he is quite useful acquaintance!

I am not sure whether this experience broke Gideon's heart and he never assed to glue it back, or he simply changed over years on his own. But nonetheless, he held her dear. "Both a critic and a friend of Gideon the All-Knowing". He appreciated a person who had the balls to disagree with him, and you KNOW she had actual arguments and good points to be respected as a critic by HIM! It is another glimpse into how he really IS the man who values the truth over "being right". She must have been the type to be clever even without much knowledge or read books, and he for sure is aware that being informed doesn't mean understanding this information. Their debates must have been very productive for both of them! I can see how he valued her honesty and insight, yet back in his better days, he grieved her, not her "lost use".

OTP:

I think maybe, again, Dolores? It feels like this ship would've never came to fruition in canon! I can picture either him having a crush but never expressing it, or her not feeling the same and them bouncing back to being friends very quickly! Still, the "love" from Gideon we know these days is a treacherous kind, ready to leave you behind as soon as the situation calls for it. But, he used to be different.

I also like to think he liked Wilhelm and Vargram both! True, Vyke was the Roundtable Hold Tarnished who approached Lordship the closest! But, he respected the approach of those two more. Wilhelm is a goddamn NERD as well, peering as far as primeval current and accepting the "Insight" that told him to fight his friend! Vargram took the task put on Tarnished so seriously that he fashioned himself after a Shadowbeast! And found Gloam Eyed Queen's sword?! I could picture his respect to the two who take it as seriously as he does growing into something stronger! Don't know which guy though. 🤔 In any case, these things are from the days long past, but he wishes Tarnished at least half-way as endearing as those two joined again.

nOTP:

I think Gideon x Seluvis just doesn't hold appeal for me.. I do not mind 'hatefucking' kind of pairs at all, okay? *voice of a guy who wrote that mini speculation about Hornsent and Leda lol* They're funny! But it is the "they fell apart because of Dolores" that seals the deal for me...

It is a Serious One, to be together with someone who obliterated the free will of a person you cherished for that free will to begin with! Gideon is a different person now, but I think he reserves the younger Gideon that lost her as inseparable part of his history, and buildup to who he became. And that includes grudge with Seluvis. These days, he would've "forgiven" someone like that as long as they're "of use" as he learned to not expect any human decency, but the pillars of the past may remain untouched.

Random headcanon:

As you can see, Gideon is unprecedented case of a Nox Tarnished, something we don't get to have in character creation presets nor anything seen in any other character!

From the way he speaks of Nepheli, he is not quite blind to someone's origins or heritage! As much as he ultimately values someone's own potential, these biases he can't fully uproot, and it includes him. Deep down, he feels proud to descend from folks that angered the Greater Will itself and dared to try and do no one else would! In an oddly poetic way, it played nicely into the end of his story, where he did favor what Marika wanted rather than what Two Fingers and whatever behind them wanted! Without intending to, he lived to the mindset of his ancestors...?

Still, he always knew he was "not like other kids" for his looks, and felt glad if someone was able to recognise his kind of eyes.

Unpopular opinion:

Most (all of them) things people guilt Gideon for actually apply to Seluvis! Seluvis is the arrogant one, Seluvis is the all-books-no-wits guy! Seluvis is a disgusting scheming bastard! Seluvis is the one "coping"! Gideon IS wise and knowledgeable, Gideon DOES have principles even if he lost the struggle to uphold him on his way! STOP LIVING IN A LIE WAKE UP

For some reason this, makes me think of him... More particularly, his gradual descent into making more and more deals with his own consciousness.

This song made me imagine Gideon constantly having to convince himself that this is "the last atrocity he commanded", that the situation simply called for it now, but surely, when he (or someone he helped) becomes a Lord, all will be fixed and redeemed? He will be back on the track to his goal to fix the world and never let oppression happen again! This is just this time, he will have better options later, eventually, for sure...

I'm answering this out of order because oh my God I did not think anyone actually paid attention to those tags HAHA. I can't believe you actually looked up that book I am honestly like both impressed and flattered. It is a super helpful book to understanding characters and their motivations.

What is Aether's enneagram type?

Analysis below!

I'm going to answer your question in a more train of thought process because the Traveler is a really interesting character. They're meant to be a faceless character we can project ourselves on, but they certainly do have a personality. That being said, do we know enough about their personality to be able to pinpoint an ennea? If I have to be honest with you, I don't have a set idea of what they can be.

The best way to do process of elimination with ennea is to focus on the triads. What is their core emotion? Shame (heart triad), fear (head triad), or anger (gut triad)? Do they have issues with identity (heart triad), security/anxiety (head triad), or autonomy/control (gut triad)?

The hard thing about the Traveler is that the only time they show emotion is when it has to do with their sibling. But what else do we know about them? They don't like being tricked. They don't like being obligated to do things out of the goodness of their heart. They're friendly. They like cracking jokes. They like playing around.

I think, with what we're given, we can throw the heart triad out right from the start. The traveler shows no signs of shame. They have no issues with their self-image. Based upon their bond with their twin and Paimon, the answer seems to lean the most to wanting support and guidance. But can it be said their core emotion is fear? Could it possibly be anger instead?

Unfortunately I'm going to have to cheat a bit here and go based purely off of my knowledge of actual people and their types. If the traveler is a head type, the only type they can be is a 7. 5 and 6 simply are not their vibe. They'd probably be a 7w8. That being said, a 7's core aspects do not match that of the Traveler as seen above.

If the Traveler is a gut type, the only types they can be is a 9w8 or a 1w9. Simply put, they are not aggressive enough to be an 8. The argument for 9w8 is that... well... this type I fall to when most other types don't match. HAHA A 9w8 is primarily peace seeking, but won't hesitate to fight and assert themselves if they see the need to. The core aspects of a 9 match as well, as seen below.

The argument for 1w9, though, and also the one I'm leaning more towards is that 1s are very judgmental. And the Traveler is extremely judgmental. LOL 9w8s literally don't care. Just leave them alone. 1s, on the other hand, typically have superiority complexes. LOL Not to say that the Traveler does, but I digress. Unlike 9s, the Traveler does not hesitate to judge. They are self-driven and won't hesitate to make decisions based upon what they feel to be right. That being said, the core aspects do not match, at least with what we know of the Traveler currently.

So those are my picks as to their possible type. I am leaning more towards 1w9, even though we don't have enough canon evidence to support it. Probably a 1w9 so/sx. But if we go based off of canon evidence, they'd probably be a 9w8.

i want to write an hotd fanfic so bad… i’m watching the early GOT show too as well to try and wrap my head around the lore but i fear that my fic will still be very amateur and show that i don’t really have that big of a grasp on the lore and worldbuilding and language around me.. can you give any advice onto how to tackle this? any specific ways i should research or how to remember every little thing to make the story as accurate and correct as possible?

hi and welcome! don't worry, i have been through this exact process within this fandom haha. i was the queen of sparknoting my way through my lit classes in college when i didn't have other time, so i think i've kind of perfected the art of making it seem like you've deeply read something, even if you haven't.

let me give my usual disclaimer that i don't recommend reading fanfic to get a sense of characters or worldbuilding in a new fandom. that's because to a fresh eye, it's impossible to tell what is the author's invention/headcanon (which may be incorrect/ooc) and what is actual canon. fanfic writing should be about indulging yourself and your creativity, not about trying to cater to the most popular opinions even if you don't agree with them. so i really do recommend sticking to canon as much as possible, and being very deliberate about where and when you use fanon as a reference.

i create a tumblr blog for every fandom that i'm planning to write in to serve as a repository for my research and notes. this blog is unusual in that i forgot to make it private and then had too much fun engaging with y'all to go back. but my first posts were all specifically for stormbreak purposes. if you're nervous about putting things out there, you can password-lock your blog, so you're the only one with access. being able to sort with tags for characters, houses, etc. will be super helpful. another good idea is to take notes in google drive, since you can also search for things there and use the outline feature to navigate. the goal is to have one or two places where you compile all of your work that are easily navigable.

a really good starting place for research is this particular asoiaf wiki. i do not recommend any of the others, especially the ones based on individual shows, because those often do not include details that are in the books. i genuinely cannot tell you how many hours i've spent on this wiki. start your research here- look for dates, places, events, houses, relationships, appearances, etc.

meta analysis is also a really good idea to gain knowledge. tumblr or reddit are the places to go for this. it's really important to seek out posts that are both sympathetic and unsympathetic towards characters or houses. the goal is to get a sense of the different opinions within fandom, and decide which ones make sense to you. on tumblr, you can search a term, select for text posts, and scroll until you find big walls of text. (as an aside: if you're doing this, blocking tags related to fanfiction, imagines, xreader, etc. will help streamline your search and filter out headcanons in favor of meta)

lastly, and be careful with this one since it is fanon but not canon: memes! twitter and tiktok are great for these. they're great for getting a sense of vibes, but not for actual canon facts about a character. remember, fanon can sometimes be very distant from or even contradictory with canon, so take these with a grain of salt. i do still find them useful for forming opinions about personalities, mannerisms, and attitudes of different characters.

9. What’s the significance behind your Tav’s name?

Étoile is the child of my skyrim dragonborn oc Wylla and the skyrim stolen-npc-now-oc-adjacent Aranea Ienith, who worshipped the Daedric Prince Azura and had a quest to cleanse Azura's Star. It is for this star that Étoile was named in that setting and in my thought process. In Faerûn, Étoile was named for the stars that Aranea would have come to love after having spent her youth in Menzoberranzan in the Underdark.

11. What is your Tav’s go-to comfort food?

But I'll say something new.

I think when Étoile is tempted to seek out comfort food that they want something rich in different textures — so it can't be a homogeneous soup or pie. Still, this might be just an excuse for me to say some kind of tacos / taco-like dish, with crisp vegetables and soft fruit, protein and sauce, and something to hold it together.

Inithray

My most recently played Tav is for an ongoing evil multiplayer campaign with some of my usual dnd friends. They can't know about my full concept for him because they haven't even reached Act 2 in their personal playthroughs, but I like to think that Inithray is some manner of undead — and an experiment of Vlaakith's, to see how long such a creation of hers can "live" after an initial interaction of her magic, or how far her influence extends in the Great Wheel cosmology as he's sent to different planes.

He is magically and culturally, her creature. Nothing she could do would shock or shake him.

Inithray has resulted in the deaths of Damays and Nymessa so far. I asked the party if they wanted to save Arabella because if so they didn't want me / Inithray leading the conversation; and they decided that the way their characters want to be evil might extend no further than stealing the idol of Silvanus and killing the druids but not aligning with the Goblins. We'll see.

Anyway!

4. What would your Tav’s romance scenes look like? How many would they have?

A lot of the githyanki specific dialogue options demonstrate their isolation, which will be more appropriate for my solo (probably not evil aligned) Tav, Yar'sul, but don't exactly suit Inithray. I think Inithray would need githyanki player characters to demonstrate their aptitude / knowledge of their own culture at the very least, if not an understanding of the world. He's attracted to power, but he's interested in someone who can carry a conversation with interest or experience, rather than simply charm.

Regardless of player race, Inithray will doubtlessly also come on (too) strong like the other resident githyanki once his interest's been captured. His bluntness will be more about visions / fantasies about what the player character might look like in ecstasy rather than scent.

His Act 1 romance scene would include an observation about how cool / clammy he is, with a question as to whether that's because he's a gith from non-githyanki or if it's because he's from the astral plane from a githyanki. He'll say yes either way, with an Insight check to see that he's lying. If you press into his mind then you do not fully find your answer, but from Inithray's perspective you remember hands burning with the fire-ice of divine energy reaching into your heart. The player character can decide if this kills the mood.

If it doesn't, then I think the player character is given two opportunities to use force in their intimacy; maybe a default choice of pulling his hair / shoving him against the ground and some class specifics. With visible confusion (/disappointment?) if the player character is gentle with him.

His Act 1 romance scene can no longer trigger once the player character has confronted Vlaakith in the crèche.

Inithray's Act 2 romance scene does not trigger if the player character was gentle with him in Act 1 but it opens him up to being willing to reject Vlaakith in Act 3. You cannot use power (or logic) to alter his allegiance / worship while his romance is active.

His Act 2 romance scene includes a(n optional) challenge. I won't step too far on Lae'zel's battle's toes; it can be a race. Either from one landmark and back to the starting point, or up a mountain. If it's to a landmark and back then when you get to the landmark he gets to use his githyanki psionics to jump like a grasshopper back to the starting point, and if you're racing up a mountain then he does the same from the beginning. A Perception check to see that he's about to jump lets you use a spell or a rock on his ankle to set him off balance, or as a githyanki, to do the same.

Making it through the race gets him out of breath and half laughing, reaching out to run his hands up the back of the player character's head (falling to his knees to do so for shorter body types) to share adrenaline high kisses.

One of the options to reject his challenge includes an accusation about how he just wants to show off, and Inithray declares that if he wanted to show off then he would do something altogether darker, and call upon his warlock magic to coalesce in blue-black shapes and smoke around his hand and his temple, and the player character can respond "Show me." to still pursue the night rather than reject him outright.

His Act 3 romance scene would require me thinking up a personal quest / how to account for whatever the player decides to do about Vlaakith, but either it can be tentative and sweet where he confesses that he's confident that Vlaakith need only look at him for him to fall to pieces; or full of dark promises where he will see the player character's power secured and the city razed for its transgressions against them if they wish it.

🐁 how are this characters ethics?

R: Roman believes he has a very strong moral code/ethics but uhh it's intrinsically warped by the city he grew up in making light of death. He's also at his core somewhat selfish in that he'd sacrifice a lot of other things(/people) for his loved ones.

D: Dee was 'born' in a place that functioned on wild animal rules and as such tends to act like that if left to their own devices (kill/be killed, very little emotional bonds to things). They're even more intensely defensive of a loved one than Roman and would resort to violence really readily

V: The Suffererrrr (Vhoxhu would like to have better ethics but did choose to make a pact with a being that demands human sacrifices on the regular in exchange for extending her own life. She's very nihilistic and tires very hard not to care about anyone but herself.)

R: Apparently Roman's pretty darn good at chess! In a recent campaign he rolled I think an 18/20 for it - I think he's spent enough time in libraries and doing mental math that he's picked up actual chess strategies. I think he'd try to be tactical and would absolutely sacrifice pieces to win in the end (though he'd not want to sacrifice knights - too cute - or towers as much)

D: They wouldn't care about it unless someone else they cared about liked it and then they'd learn to play casually. Not a bone of competitiveness in them though!

V: She'd probably be pretty dogshit at it!! I think Vhoxhu could learn the rules just fine and do some absolutely wild techniques to try and win (extremely high risk and high reward) but I don't think her interest in it is high enough to dedicate the needed time for that.

🦪 how would this character describe their gender, if asked?

R: Concepts of gender (and sexuality) are viewed a little differently in Dorna than irl, but there's still enough historical knowledge that Roman would be able to say he's probably a cis guy and (more importantly) a cub. If you trapped him in a conversation about gender he'd admit that he feels a little less powerful (and potentially macho? at least in irl terms) than he should be, given where he grew up.

D: Most honest answer is a wordless ¯_(ツ)_/¯, and they likely wouldn't know the correct terminology (or care about it) enough to investigate it more internally jfhghj

V: I can't find the meme but this is in her future

R: Spiders (and the ever-present threat of war, which isn't material until it very suddenly is)

D: Fire... it's proven to be one of the few things that can really damage them.

⚖️ how do they seek justice?

R: If he's given a moment to think, Roman would like to seek justice through a legal system or a fair match (depending on what he's trying to get out of it) OR genuinely just an apology and an attempt to do better by whoever he's been wronged by. He's open to compromise on a lot of fronts! But if it's a situation where he doesn't have time to decide or someone's gone against those he cares for, 'justice' tends to come in a near-immediate barrage of violent spellcasting. Not necessarily aiming to kill but definitely aiming to hurt!

D: Dee has no sense of justice for themselves and would (/almost did) just let themselves get basically euthanized by a group of sort-of exterminators. Again, fairness doesn't really exist in their moral code. While this means they don't really hold grudges, it does become personal if someone hurts Nelly (and then they'll become jokerfied really fast)

V: Bc of defeatism Vhoxhu doesn't really seek justice for most things, but if she was slighted enough at current date she always has the option of throwing a giant fish at them in their dreams. In the future she'd take little victories/petty ones instead (therapy helps!)

Untitled Fantasy AU - Fourth in the cycle starting with The Prince and the Magpie (if I get around to it before I lose steam), which sees Osvald and Agnea thrown together for their own goals, better off together than alone. Agnea has never left home, but the cursed shoes on her feet compel her to move and dance at the slightest music, and Osvald, who seeks the knowledge that might save his wife and daughter. Not romance fic like the others, but will focus on Osvald and Agnea growing into a father/daughter type relationship (there may be background romance, but it will not be for these two).

Untitled Canon Divergence/Meta fic where the travelers are all revenants, stuck undying until they've completed the tasks the gods have chosen them for, banding together in this bitter immortality and trying to forge friendships and relationships with each other, as no other people know the same pain that they do.

Untitled Canon Divergence where guns exist en masse thanks to the Roque Company, and it just so happens that General Mugen of Ku shows a great interest in what help these new weapons might prove in his bid for the throne of Ku, and further, the world.

Untitled Canon/post Canon fic with Fire Emblem Awakening influences, where Hikari and Partitio have an adopted daughter who travels back in time to save them from some unknown threat. (will probably feature other adopted children from other pairings if I ever really get it off the ground).

Detective Lilith - 1910s era period mystery piece about a cross dressing autistic lesbian detective. Meant to be the first in a series kind of like Poirot, but featuring lots of queer people and POC in a wide variety of roles and relationships. I had a bit of a breakthrough on it recently regarding the mystery so I might be picking it up again soon.

8: Who are they suspicious of?

Apart from the obvious-

Anyone that's...proud and loud with their kindness and goodness. It feels insincere to her. Despite Wyll being genuine of heart and doing his best, having his kind nature taken advantage of when so young, she doesn't really trust that good heart nobility type - it's mostly just a leftover scar from her past really. Comfort more in what she knows.

But saying that, she's also suspicious of Astarion, only because he's a fucking mirror to her. She knows him because she was/is him, and was groomed by someone like him, worse than him. In that vein, she also feels an affinity with him, a connection. But she has to be so careful with her relationship with him, because they enable eachother, in the worst ways.

15: What NPC's do they like? Which one's do they dislike?

Well, she of course latches onto a lot of the Githyankis. Beyond Voss, she has wide wondrous eyes for Ghustil Sturnugoss, for she sees something very familiar there. Curisoity, wonder, thirst for knowledge and where will it take me. She also sees this in Balthazaar. She'll never really tell anyone this, maybe bar her closest friends, lovers, but some of what she used to do back when she was under Nezarr, years in her cult, was a lot of what Balthazaar did. Seeking immortality, playing with life, unlife. Pushing the boundaries where you don't belong, and composing the hands of gods into your own.

Orin gives her a fucking headache (Vanquish you're such a hypocrite, you can be annoying as fuck too). She loves to mock the shit out of Gortash, but she actually finds him quite endearing and something in her feels like if she really wanted, if she pulled on the lessons Nezarr inadvertantly taught her about power, control, she could make him bend to her, too.

And that kinda scares her.

She thinks Barcus is a hoot! Vanquish loves to talk and thinks he's a sweet, clever, silly little guy. She respects him a lot.

Lucretious. Vanquish is a little starstruck over her, I think.

She's also a little uncomfortable around Dame Alyin, honestly.

Lonely, mostly.

Scared, a little.

She'd run away from which was, in essence, a cult. She was the leader's little pet project and special princess. And he'd been playing the long, long game. (Vanquish is a lot older than she appears, mostly because of patron powers and her cult daddy called Nezarr who was like a chosen/avatar of Y'chak).

After running away, her mind kind of...fractured a little. Memories lost - most specifially of Nezarr and who and what he really was and did. He'd made sure to plant that failsafe into her that everytime she successfully fleed from her bonds, she'd forget, but not all. What would linger was that the next time she sees Nezarr, a twinge of comfort stirs in her that she knows him, that he can protect her, she'll be safe with him.

And it starts all over again. For this wasn't the first time she'd gotten free.

But it is the last.

So, freedom. She's trying to make a new life once again (unbeknown to her), scared and lost and well, angry too. So fucking angry.

But...she's also excited. There's a whole world infront of her again. And she's going to make it hers, again. Rage, joy, laughter, love, fear, pain, hate - all of it, and it's hers now. Hers.

Everytime she escapes it gets harder for the failsafe to work properly, and then when she gets tadpoled, it really fucks with the magic he used on her and memories come flooding back in pieces, feelings lost, and so much anger. She remembers her anger now, and what kind of person she used to be, and well, is.

She's my morally grey baby and I love her so much.

soft locks the color of carnations flutter in the breeze as the princess of cornelia takes in the soft morning light. another beautiful day in grimoire and she was ever grateful that she got to spend it in the company of her ever-knowledgeable companion, eiko. sarah had learned a lot in these last few weeks about the intricacies of summoning and the two had delved deep into the libraries of cornelia to find answers about the first summoner of cornelia and how they had come to discover ragnarok, why the kingdom had been built around it and how such histories had become seemingly lost over time.

the only others outside of eiko's band of friends that they knew were capable of summoning were their jiantess friends, hauyn and reynn - sisters capable of capturing mirages and training them as their own and were a part of grimoire's ancient history as their furry rainbow tailed fox, tama, had told them one morning when she and her mortal frenemy, serafie, had come calling one day for tea.

eiko had stayed over (as was quite often when she came to visit) and it seemed that their week of discovery, adventure, and sneaking out of the castle into the great unknown-! okay, not so much that last part, but sarah had managed to sneak out of the castle with eiko and fenrir for a quick jaunt around the town as well as taking the opportunity to visit princess goblin in her own kingdom. but it seemed that their week together was nearing it's end and sarah was pained about it. she was having a lot of fun spending time with eiko and she and princess goblin seemed like they would get into all kinds of mischief together. it was… a tad scary especially when the subject of their plots involved one dashing knight in splendid, shining armor.

sarah had turned to her friend to ask her a question when eiko had said how beautiful and pretty she was. her eyes had grown large and her lips that were still about to form her question had frozen in an 'o'. eiko was still very much a young girl - sarah supposed any one to her young friend would seem so beautiful and pretty (was she really beautiful and pretty?), but she still appreciated the remark all the same. part of being royalty was taking care of yourself. it never did to look dishelved and out-of-place. one always had to look their best or else face nasty gossip and rumors, and she didn't believe that her fellow cornelians were like that but it had still been something instilled upon her in a young age - probably younger than eiko was now. she had to hold herself to higher standards. beauty and grace came naturally to her, she was told, by her mother, but sarah had sometimes wondered about that herself. sometimes she wanted to join the other girls and boys her age back then and get dirty and have adventures. of course, now as the sole ruler of cornelia, sarah was free to do whatever she so wished - within reason, of course, but… sometimes she still worried about her image and what her people would think. sometimes she wondered if they knew it was her wondering around town in disguise and pretended to ease her fears and anxiety as the older residents knew what a sheltered life she had led.

"why, thank you, eiko. it really means a lot to me, and you know," she says taking her friend's hands into her own. "you are just as beautiful and pretty, too. i am sure you will grow up into a most splendid young lady that will have the boy's going silly for your attention," she winks then. "and perhaps catch the attention of the one who's affection you seek the most?"

Falling Toward the Future – The monster college au that I based a lot on my own college experiences.

The next four (actually 6) are all part of the Found Family Fluff Series. Basically my take on things that might have happened after the Orpheum and the most family friendly of everything I've written.

Burn Baby Burn – The sixth fic in the series. Julie and Luke making out in a hammock

A Bigger Table – The second in the FFF series. Ray buys a bigger dining room table so the guys can join them at meal times even though they can’t eat.  

Eat the Chips – My very first Julie and the Phantoms fic and the first in this series. Julie and Luke can touch now but for some reason Luke has been avoiding touching her.

Not Today Satan – My first Willex piece and the third in the series. Alex and Willie hanging out in the studio catching up on music from the last 25 years when Julie comes in and they discover some new ghost powers.

5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not? Yes, always. Sometimes it’s just a .gif but I always reply with something.

6. What is a fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? I feel like this should just say what’s your angstiest fic cause like most, I like to end on a happy note, or at least with hope. Even though they both end either happy or hopeful I feel like As Long As We Have Each Other and What if I’m Someone I Don’t Want Around are the most angst filled. Both are pretty depressing.

7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? They all have a happy ending (technically the smut has the happiest endings) but maybe We’re Having a Baby part 4. Julie and Luke have a baby. (I know you’re shocked from that title)  

8. Do you get hate on fics? – Not really. Had a few 'I’m not sure I like what you did there'. But nothing mean. I’m pretty sure I would have a couple years ago based on what I’ve heard.

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind? Yes, not sure what this means by what kind. I’m going to assume it means ships. It’s all been Juke until recently when I did my first peterpatterlina. There're four outtakes from Falling Toward the Future that are Explicit as well as Maybe I Could be Yours (Royalty AU) and a series of fics in the Naughty Files.

10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written? I have not done a crossover (only AUs) but I’ve had a couple floating around in my head but not enough to actually write down.

16. What are your writing strengths? This is a hard question to answer because it’s all a matter of opinion and writers are our own worse critics. Maybe dialogue.

17. What are your writing weaknesses? Sometimes I think I can get too focused on movement. Like making sure the reader knows how everyone is moving as they speak. It’s not always important and I can get bogged down in it sometimes.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic? Just terms of endearment otherwise I try to avoid it.

19. First fandom you wrote for? Technically it would be Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure even though it never went up on the web in any way. I’ve written The Hardy Boyz (wwe) and Buffy, Willow and Oz. All of them many, MANY years ago.

20. Favorite fic you've written? This is like picking a favorite child. Looking through them all though I am very fond of Happy Birthday Ray which was the first sequel one-shot I wrote to Falling Toward the Future. I gave him my own birthday and published it ON my birthday.

I'm sorry these took so long, I would've had them finished yesterday BUT I LOST ALL MY WRITING WHEN I WAS AT THE END and that took all my motivation honestly haha. Sorry if these aren't quite what you were looking for, thank you for asking though

This is both the angstiest, softest, and shortest smut I've ever written.

(These are headcanons but honestly they're more than long enough to make a fic so uh...oops)

Madara Uchiha, though he’d deny it, is the type that would fall first. But he’d equate his feelings to only lust in the beginning. He’d see her first, notice her first, and approach first but all with intention.

The era he comes from is heavy with political marriage. His marriage would most likely already be prearranged. But he'd still approach you, a fling between a man and a woman has nothing to do with someone he hasn't met.

He'd call out to you, "Oi," his gruff voice and rude way of speaking would immediately put you off. You would have no idea who he is, not really up to date on all the ins and outs of shinobi. With an annoyed look on your face, you'd ignore him.

But he wouldn't give up, a ninja is one who endures after all. He'd take every opportunity he could find to approach you again, more interested in the challenge you presented then what he had originally intended. Madara would begin to follow you, without him realizing at first, he'd do it in the name of seeking opportunity but eventually it'd just become a habit.

By that point, you'd know who he is, but the game you started was a bit too fun so you'd purposefully ignore him, a sly smile on your face. You liked infuriating a powerful man like him. His attentions would inflate your ego, if only a little. After all, who else could say they were being pursued by the Madara Uchiha?

The more he'd watch you, the more he'd learn about you. He'd smirk when you'd smile, roll his eyes at the lame jokes you'd tell your village's children. Watching your simple life became a bit of a comfort without his knowledge. Going from the bloody battlefield where any one of his comrades, or even himself, could lose their lives at any moment to watching you and your sleepy village made his heart ache.

But when a rogue shinobi clan invaded your home, he admired not only yours but the bravery of your people. Despite being weak, untrained, and lacking in experience he watched as you all faced your enemy head on. You especially, refused to back down. You'd spit in the face of your would be attacker, anger and spite swirling in your eyes like a storm.

Of course, he saw it as the perfect opportunity. At least, that's what he told himself, but his rage at your potential violation was clear as day as he easily tore into the man who had attempted to harm his property. The rest of that clan were like flies, buzzing around and destroying what was his. He took care of them all.

His anger only mounted when he saw the red irritation marks on your wrists and neck, like proof of his inability to protect you. He'd take your wrist in his own, the sheer difference in size and strength furthering his wrath. What kind of shinobi preyed on such weaklings? Where was their pride? Their sense of honor?

"Thank you," your quiet voice gave him pause. "For saving me."

His grip on your wrist would tighten, his chest uncomfortable. One look from your eyes was enough to placate him and he hated it. How could some helpless girl hold so much sway over him? He was getting too close, he had to fix it. Place some distance before he did something he'd regret.

💘Is there any posted fic you want to rework/re-edit/re-write?

Indeed! My Reda Shepard origin fic "You owe me, little bird" from 2015. It was my first long english fic ever, so it's dear to my heart. I had just started playing ME back then, and while I kept Reda "my" Shepard, her story has evolved a lot, as has my writing, and since I wrote more about her by now, I really want to give her origin fic a makeover. The basic idea will stay, but besides, a lot will probably change.

That being said, I'm a fan of "work on your stuff as much and as long as you want and whenever you want" since, you know, it's your stuff, right? So I've done a lot of makeovers of stories in my life.

🦋what are you most insecure about when you post a fic?

So. There's 2 types of answers to this.

In general: nothing. I'm not insecure about my writing, and I'm not insecure about posting. You could say that as every writer I love getting feedback and I'm always anxious if I'll get any, but that is beyond my sphere of power to influence.

Mass Effect related? Everything! This fandom has so many so absolutely incredibly talented people in it, that it is both language wise with not being a native english speaker and content wise with coming from a culture where military as a topic holds a less huge weight has me insecure about literally anything I might write. Like, I don't know the ME lore in and out, I have zero knowledge about military and medicine (and while I love doing research, at some point you gotta just go with it...) and English is not my native language. So yeah, writing in Mass Effect has me anxious to some extent from the early stage of having a fic idea up to having a fic published. I know that it's irrational, and that writing is not a competition. But I can't really help it.

I mean, i don't often post something due to not often having a finished fic to post. That being said, esp with the few things I have posted in the past few years, I have always been excited and proud and celebrater-ish about it, definitely. Writing is great, I love the process and I love having shaped a fic how I wanted to see it. I reread my own stuff a lot, and that's the biggest celebration you can do, right? So yeah, pretty satisfied on that end. :)

56: Normally, Shredder is the one Krang seeks out for comfort because he greatly admires his strength and courage, and he's his best friend / (ex) husband / (ex) boyfriend... you get the gist. He always wanted comfort from Subprime before meeting Shredder, which was constantly unrequited. That didn't stop him from further trying to grovel for his cousin's acknowledgment though, until being ultimately betrayed for a third time. The story behind that will vary depending on the verse/muses. Depending on the relationship with the muse he's hanging around with, he might seek comfort from them as well when he's panicking about something. But he does need a considerable level of trust to show them that he's genuinely scared and in need of comfort tho. For example, he trusts Clarissa and will seek her out in the dead of the night when his thoughts are circling and he grows anxious about the Hive, which is something he didn't experience before. He defied the Hive and is nervous about approaching Shredder over that because of his wavering devotion. What would Shredder, someone highly devoted to his case, possibly think about it? 25: Pets. Because he watches animal videos during the weekends when he's bored, he has unintentionally accumulated vast knowledge about earthly pets that's usually rather useless to him. Not that it stops him from being a smartass know-it-all about it when people talk about animals.

17: His eyebrows, and them being a mess that he needs to take care of first before he can start his day. Everyone else just always only mentions his armory. Sheesh, why is that? 46: He's more of a talker, but can be a good listener too. He can vent endlessly about things that annoy him or talk passionately about his interests when he's comfy. Being in agreement with him over something is always a free 'okay I let you vent about that as well' pass. He will shut up and listen without any actions needed when he likes tolerates someone around. Otherwise a firm 'shut up' is one way to silence him. His comeback is going to be loud and angry once he's over the initial shock and he didn't like what he just heard, though.

47: The thing is, Utrom don't forget so easily unless their memory gets tampered with. The closest to forgetting about something or someone is suppressing these memories. Subprime does that especially when it comes to Bishop or his family. His brother is a topic he will actively avoid talking about. Bishop on the other hand is furious over Subprime's betrayal. He has a much harder time just moving on when his brother is brought up in a conversation. There's not much to piss Bishop really off, but bringing up Subprime is a safe way to tilt that nice guy's mood. 57: He's a disaster at cleaning honestly. 19. What is something they excel at?

Mihri is a very quick learner! She can pick up new skills easily and is a knowledge sponge. This certainly helps when you’re a Dalish elf largely unfamiliar with Andrastianism but now finding yourself as a religious figure. Along that train of thought, she excels at just… faking it ’til you make it. People doubt you less when you’re stupidly overconfident about everything.

29. They have a chance to get a tattoo: what would it be?

Botanical illustrations, probably something like arbor blessing snaked around her upper arm. I was originally thinking of a fun little fat toad tattoo when I was typing this out, and I found this wizard frog by Leah Samuels instead. This is definitely something Mihri would love.

42. Let them vent for a second, without the fear of being judged. What would they like to say?

Hah! I think she’d probably just vent at me. I typically enjoy fluffier fic, and the Inquisitor’s story is already angsty enough, so I had originally intended to just write happy things. Over time, her story has become a lot angstier, likely due to my own mental health, if I’m being honest. I had started her out as an only child, but I adopted a friend’s OC. Happy progress! …And then I promptly killed him off in my universe. She really did start out a lot happier, once upon a time. I’m gonna have to drag her into DA4 kicking and screaming.

2. Give them a warm drink of your choice, what would it be? Would their choice differ from yours?

I would give her hot chocolate, maybe some of the salted caramel kind that I have in the cabinet right now. She would choose a fruity tea, like a blueberry. Or the lemon pound cake tazo tea I have in there as well.

11. What is an item of clothing/an accessory that completes them/makes them feel safe?

Oh, I actually had to stop and think about this one. Perhaps it’s because I’m not so fashion forward (I do love looking at haute couture for fun, but I live my life in t-shirts and shorts/leggings), but I hadn’t given much thought to how she might dress off-duty. She isn’t very materialistic; I don’t think she has a piece of clothing or even an accessory that she wears that truly completes her. She doesn’t have any sentimental items to wear; she left Mindoir with nothing. It isn’t a direct answer, but her pre-ME2 tattoos are what complete/comfort her. She has a sprawling strawberry vine on her left shoulder blade in memory of her parents. Finding it gone in ME2 is a big stressor (among everything else going on…) and Joker encourages her to get it redone when they have the time.

14. Quickly, let them give us some life advice!

I don’t know that it exactly answers the question (round 2 haha), but this is the first thing that came to mind when I read this question, so here you go! It’s hard to imagine what the state of healthcare and mental healthcare is going to be in the 2180s, but I do figure that a lot of people are going to be struggling post-Reaper War. Lia would be a big advocate for seeking help, talking to someone. It’s rough out there—don’t be afraid to reach out, ok?

3. What is something they really like about themselves and what is something you really like about them?

Ugh man, I should really talk about someone other than Mihri, but I’m gonna answer it for her anyway. This also got away from me a bit. Whoops! First off, she usually skirts around answering the tough/serious questions most of the time, so she would answer this superficially. She isn’t insecure about her looks in the slightest and is aware of the fact that it’s easier for her to get her way because she’s attractive. So she loves that about herself. She’s just a smol little thing—isn’t she so cute? You’d do anything for her, wouldn’t you? Seriously, though, she loves being a mage and using that gift to help others. It doesn’t matter if that help is something big, like healing, or whether it’s embellishing children’s stories with little bits of magic. Her mother taught her to be proud of her magic, and she very much is! For me, I love her adaptability and perception. She’s great at gauging situations and reading the room and knowing how to react or interact with others. She often prefers to cope (or rather, deflect…) with humor and can be accused of not taking things seriously because of that. But she isn’t oblivious—she knows when her sarcasm or jokes would be welcomed and when they would not, when a joke would appropriately lighten the mood and when it would be a disaster. I also love that she’s a fucking liar, right down to her little core, but that she uses this to try to do good. One of the things that stuck out to me when I did my first playthrough with her was a side interaction at the base camp at the beginning of What Pride Has Wrought. There’s a soldier praying and reciting part of the Chant, and the “diplomatic”-type response from the Inquisitor is to finish that part of the chant for them—regardless of your origin (note: it may hinge on whether or not you accepted being the Herald of Andraste; I don’t remember a lot of those choices I made the first go-round!). At first it was one of those dialogue choices where I was like “oh, if I’d known she’d say that, I wouldn’t have chosen it.” But over time, I think it fits. Mihri doesn’t believe in Andraste, but to call back to the first question, she is a quick learner and has a great memory. She learns bits of the Chant to blend in and look like the Herald. The side benefits are that this boosts morale among the troops.

Hmm.. after taking a look at the specific questions being asked here, I think I will answer these for my Kingdom Hearts self-insert Xiara, if that's alright with you!~

13. What are your self-insert’s goals? Her hopes and dreams for the past/future/present! Does she intend to achieve it no matter what? Could anything stop her, big or small? - Xiara's.. not really the outwardly ambitious type, in all honesty; she can seem fairly content with almost any circumstance and find a way to fit in or adapt. However, one thing that does drive her is knowledge, or more specifically missing information - learning more about those around her, more about the worlds and their natures, and learning about her own self and its nature. After all, while she is certainly assumed to be - and treated as - a Nobody, the fact she lacked any memories of her previous life (unlike most of the other members, save Roxas and Xion) and the fact she's since picked up on what seems like some innate dissimilarity between herself and the others mean she seeks to find answers. Not much could stop her going after those answers if she found a lead, with the possible exceptions being having to harm those she cares about or seriously risk her life to do so.

15. Does your self-insert have any enemies? What’s that dynamic like? Why are they enemies? Did they ever get along in the past? Is patching up differences out of the question for the future? - As a member of the Organisation, Xiara is initially opposed to Sora, because he seeks to defeat the Organisation. However, she holds no particular animosity towards the boy himself, even despite how hostile he himself is by the time she encounters him in Castle Oblivion (she fights him once in the upper floors and is then recalled from the castle, therefore inadvertently becoming the only member other than Axel to survive it). After all, she holds no real loyalty to the Organisation itself - she's with them because that's about all she remembers being, and because she figures completing Kingdom Hearts and gaining a heart of her own might give her the sense of completion that she lacks, but she holds no particular respect for the others' authority or anything. (As proven by her execution of "monitoring Roxas and Xion for Vexen" being "becoming friends with them both and helping them where possible including lying to Vexen's face about their actions", among other things.) And I think Sora would want her to be on his side if given the choice, because he's just sort of like that - so, they would definitely have been able to reconcile and Xiara would have helped him stop Xehanort! ..If not for the fact she is destroyed following her second boss fight with Sora, that is.

Aylin sat on the chair with one wing unfolded as she carefully started to preen at the feathers. Some of them were easily pulled, a stage of molting that she had to take care of. It wasn't uncommon for people to come by and ask her questions, so when the mortal showed up and cautiously asked her question, Aylin just smiled.

"Come, sit my friend, I will answer to the best of my capabilities," Which wasn't hard for Aylin. "Ah, such a vague question, with so many tangles of vines that could go any way. My immortality leaves much to think on, as I will outlive your life, and the lives of many others," But even Aylincould have dreams as she sat quietly, thinking on this. "There is so much of Faerun, and I wish to see much more of it. From the glorious seas to the great mountains, there is much to explore. Perhaps over the years, I will take my leave and move from city to city, and see what this world has to offer,"

However, the next question came as Aylin's face soured and brows lowered. "Tis a reason for such a question? I do not lie to my beloved, my Moon Lily matters more to me than such secrets!" Aylin stated with clear determination but she let out a sigh. "I do not hide it, for I do not know how to face it. How do you put into words such torments from the mind? But my love is patient, the patience from the sweet goddess Selune herself. I'm blessed to have such a darling who treats me so tenderly, with no selfish expectation. In time, I will find the words to express, but I do not wish to make her suffer from such knowledge either," Aylin whispered and went quiet as she continued to preen more of her feathers.

Such traumas pained her heart, worried she may never be the same. A soft breath left her lips but then grinned at the final question. "No limits to your imagination, mortal? Everyone desires to know the carnal desires of such?" Aylin lightly jested, having no problems expressing the way she loved to pleasure her lover. "Tis love at first sight, with my sweetheart. Confidence lies within the veins, I did not doubt my hopes and wants for my love. What I knew, most of all, was my love for women. Tis a glorious thing, the way a woman speaks, how she moves, upholds herself. The strong and the meek, the rich and the poor. A woman is one to be revered, to worship, to seek solace in: for a woman is more than what anyone tries to define her as.
