im going to harrass you with my tts halloween related questions until its tysmgiving and then i bombard you with tjose and yhen crisis, and well u get it idk

rapunzel likes all candy, she will eat anything and everything, but she secretly likes the fruity candies more than like chocolate ans what not, but shhhh everything is still apatizeing to her(except lemon stuff, like dont give her a lemon head man). eugene likes chocolate and so does cass, i think ever since i got introduced to cass i js thought she liked chocolate, specifically dark chocolate js bcus shes not much of a sweets person yk?(she usually takes the dark chocolate hersheys & dark chocolate milkyways if no one wants them) but eugene likes all chocolates, milky ways? yes. snickers? yes. heck even an almond joy he'll eat.
lance is like raps, he'll eat whatever(usually he just eats what the girls dont want LMAO) but smth about me makes me think his fav is jelly beans... angry and catalina are both similar, but i think catalina doesnt like nuts in her candy(i dont either, i know im insane u can hate me already), but kiera probably likes snickers, though i think she likes baby ruths more. catalina is a big fan of reeses tho, like yes peanut butter & chocolate yum yum yum.

but fr varian is one of those people who gets a whole carrot or smth and is like "omg thank you!!" and eats it like a chocolate bar, i do too so its okay. but his fav candy is skittles, like actually he will gobble down a whole bag like no ones business(he also likes gummies, of any sort really, oh and jolly ranchers)

So I’m definitely the wrong person to ask this actually. I’m not really a big fan of candy tbh. I like it sometimes, but I usually prefer savory snacks. Honestly what you said is pretty much canon to me. I love these.
But I’ll try my best.
Punzie Wunzie- Like you said, prefers fruity candies to chocolate. Probably likes skittles and Starbursts, stuff like that. I feel like she’d like gummies. Esp the orange ones with sugar on them.
Gene- Chocolate all the way. And not the cheap crap, the really fancy stuff, like truffles.
Lance- Same as Eugene but I think he likes Hershey chocolate and generally just candy bars. Probably likes sour and spicy candies as well. And yes absolutely he loves jelly beans. Same with Cat and Varian.
Var Bear- I think he’ll eat anything tbh but he canonically likes chocolate, so he steals Eugene’s truffles and Lance’s candy bars. And I can see him liking hard candies and suckers, because you can eat them while working.
Cassie Wassie- Again like you said, dark chocolate. She doesn’t strike me as much of a candy person. I can see her liking candy with nuts (despite being a lesbian)
Thing 1 & The Other 1- I feel like Cat prefers savory foods because wolf hehe. So yes peanut butter candies all the way. Same with Kiera, idk she just doesn’t strike me as that much of a candy person either so I think she’d eat ab anything as well. Like they like candy well enough they just don’t really have favorites. Maybe they both like sour/spicy candy.
everyone else- Quirin and Arianna like those old person candies that just materialize in your house when you turn 60. Adira also prefers fancy chocolates. Frederic, I don’t know let’s say circus peanuts. Hector doesn’t care why are you asking him this. Edmund hasn’t had candy in years, honestly he’d be happy just eating a bag of straight sugar.
My favorite is probably milky ways. Because they’re good and I gotta stick with my astronomy aesthetic I’ve got going on. Also Skittles slap.

Infused-ganache Chocolate Truffles
Made a batch of these on the weekend (and then tormented my international friends on discord with them) so in penance by popular demand, let’s talk chocolate-making.
Okay, well, making things out of chocolate. Actually making chocolate from scratch is a long and specialised process that’s well out of scope for the average casual home-cook. See these videos from H2CT and Babish if you want to learn what’s involved there.
I’ve made a few versions of these truffles with different moulds, chocolate types and infused flavours, so this isn’t going to be a prescriptive recipe as much as the key steps/principles that you can tweak to fit what you’re working with.
Working With Chocolate
A lot of what I’ve learned about working with chocolate comes from Anne Reardon’s How to Cook That channel. If you have time, this video is a great introduction to some of the food-science behind how chocolate works:

Let’s do a summary of some key principles:
WATER IS THE ENEMY
Solid chocolate does not contain water. When water (or other water-based moisture, like milk) comes into contact with chocolate, it starts to dissolve the sugar, changing the chemical structure – which can change the texture and taste.
If the surface of the chocolate gets damp/wet (e.g. because of water on your fingers or condensation in your mould/storage container) it can cause what’s called a ‘sugar bloom’, leaving white streaks or other discolouration. You can actually see a bit of this in my photos; I was making these on a humid day and I think some condensation formed on the chilled moulds as I was pouring the chocolate in. This is the best case scenario for water – it’ll damage your chocolate aesthetically but you can wipe any away remaining moisture to stop it from getting worse and keep going.
If water mixes into your melted chocolate, your chocolate will ‘seize’; the sugar-water forming a solution that the cocoa sticks to, turning it thick, dry/sludgy/lumpy and resistant to melting. At this point your chocolate is texturally ruined (unless you’re making Flake) and can’t be used for moulding or shaping. You can use it for other things, by slowly adding more hot liquid until it melts into a chocolate sauce or ganache, but seizing can’t be reversed so this will be the end of the line for using that batch in truffle shells. You’ll have to start over.
The best way to prevent this is to keep everything dry. Wipe down your bowls/ knives/ spoons/ moulds/ surfaces well with a clean cloth or paper towel to ensure there’s no water left from washing or condensation build-up from the fridge/ freezer, dry your hands thoroughly, keep exposed wet ingredients on a different part of your work surface (or use them before/ after handing your chocolate so they’re not out at the same time) and try to limit the chance of condensation (e.g. from stovetop- or kettle-steam) dripping into your melted chocolate as much as possible.
COCOA BUTTER OR COMPOUND?
There are two main types of chocolate that you’ll find in the baking aisle: ‘real’ chocolate, which uses cocoa butter as the main fat, and ‘compound’ chocolate, which uses vegetable fat instead. For this you really need to read the ingredients list on the chocolate you’re buying since different brands can use either for different products (e.g. Cadbury Baking Melts are real chocolate while Nestle Baking Melts are compound chocolate, but other Cadbury products use compound chocolate and vice versa). The only way to guarantee what you’re getting is to check whether cocoa butter or vegetable fat is listed on the packet.
This makes a difference because the fats used change the stability and texture. The vegetable fat in compound chocolate has a higher melting point and is fully solid at room temperature. This means it holds its shape more easily and doesn’t need special treatment to set firm (which can be very forgiving to beginners and good for making thin decorations) but the trade-off is that those harder fats give it a tougher texture and a waxier/ oilier mouth-feel, as well as a less glossy sheen. Meanwhile, the cocoa butter in real chocolate has a lower melting point – closer to room temperature – which means that the heat from your hands (or even just a warm day) can be enough to melt the thinner pieces. Those softer fats are what give real chocolate that nicer melt-in-your-mouth feel, and the crystalline structures that the cocoa butter arranges itself into gives real chocolate its crisp snap and glossy surface. The trade-off is that, in order to keep the fats in that crystal structure, real chocolate has to be handled more carefully, and ‘tempered’ after fully melting; otherwise the melted fat resolidifies into an unstable, unstructured form that won’t set at room temperature.
Basically compound chocolate is more forgiving to work with (especially for thin pieces) but has a worse texture and appearance, while real chocolate looks and tastes better but requires an extra step and a little more care to work with.
TEMPERING
Tempering is that extra step I mentioned, which you need to do if you want real chocolate (the cocoa butter stuff) to set back into that nice crisp, room-temperature-stable, glossy state. When you buy real chocolate it is ‘in temper’, which means that the cocoa butter fat-molecules are arranged in a crystalline configuration that shimmers when the light hits it and breaks with a nice crack.
As you heat chocolate up the fat starts to soften and then melt, until it reaches a point where that crystal arrangement of fat molecules completely liquifies into unstructured particles: called going out of temper. Once out of temper, chocolate won’t reset into temper on its own – leaving you with squidgy, dull chocolate. The maximum temperature you can take chocolate to before it goes out of temper depends on the darkness of the chocolate:
White Chocolate < 29°C / 84°F Milk Chocolate < 30°C / 86°F Dark Chocolate < 32°C / 86°F
You can always try to thread the needle of heating chocolate up enough to make it workable but not so far as to send it out of temper, but that can take a lot of precision and be easy to overshoot (especially if you don’t have a candy thermometer). Instead, the simpler thing to do is to completely melt your chocolate, and then work the melted chocolate as it cools down so that you bring it back into temper. You can melt your chocolate by microwaving in 15-30 second bursts (stirring well in between to ensure it heats evenly) or over a double-boiler (stirring constantly).
Tempering chocolate is a lot less hard or scary than it may seem. I think chocolate is one of those things that has suffered a sort of “reverse CSI effect” thanks to cooking shows. These shows often like to feature the most technically complex/ specialised methods/ tools for food prep’ because it looks chef-y/ impressive/ spectacular, which can create the impression that these are the only methods available when there are actually simpler, more reliable, more accessible methods out there.
The method I find most accessible is the seeding method. To do this you need to reserve a couple of handfuls of your chocolate and chop it finely, then periodically add those reserved chocolate chips into your melted chocolate (biggest bits to smallest bits) as it cools. What you’re doing here is taking chocolate which still has its fat crystals in-temper and introducing it to your out-of-temper melted chocolate; providing a ‘seed’ template that helps the melted fats fall back into that crystalised structure. It also helps cool your chocolate down as the seed chocolate melts in. When doing this you have to be careful not to add the seed chocolate while things are too hot: otherwise it’s just going to melt out of temper as well, which could leave you in a mess unless you have extra chocolate on hand to sacrifice to the process.
A lifehack for this if you don’t have a food-thermometer is that the average core temperature of the human body is around 37°C / 99°F (with your extremities being colder) and chocolate will go into/out of temper between 29°C to 32°C (84°F to 86°F), so you can test whether it’s time to start tempering by getting your (clean and thoroughly dried) fingers involved. Dip a finger in to touch-test the temperature (stir your cooling chocolate to ensure the temperature is even throughout). Once it feels lukewarmyou can start melting in your bigger chips. Slowly add more, stirring to melt each addition through completely, until your chocolate mix feels slightly cooler than your hands while still being liquid enough to spoon and pour. If you have particularly warm hands, have recently exercised or it’s a hot day then you might want to shoot for a little cooler again. Just remember: the lighter your chocolate, the cooler the temperature it needs to go down to, so pay close attention when working with white chocolates in particular. I’ve done this every time with different chocolate types and it’s consistently got me into the tempering zone (even the first time I did it, which is rare because I usually muck things up on the first pass).
As you can see, it doesn’t actually take that much more work or time to temper real chocolate for truffles. But if you’re in a hurry (or don’t feel like it) you can just go with compound chocolate to skip this step.
Infusing Ganache
Ganache is a mixture of chocolate and cream, used for sauces, frostings, fillings or (in our case) truffle centres. It’s made by melting chocolate and cream together (either by heating both at the same time or pouring hot cream over chocolate) with the thickness of the ganache depending on the ratio of chocolate to cream, the lightness/darkness of the chocolate and its current temperature. Because ganache is a chocolate-cream mix that can’t be tempered you should use real chocolate when making it since the only thing you’ll get from compound chocolate here is a flavour downgrade.
Now you can just use ganache straight for a creamy chocolate-filled truffle but one of the fun things I like to do is add extra flavours to make them more interesting.
FLAVOURING THE CREAM
This depends on your flavouring. If you’re using a smooth dissolving powder (e.g. espresso powder, freeze-dried berry) or liquid essence/extract (e.g. vanilla, almond) then you can directly stir it through the warm cream to flavour your ganache. One thing to be careful of here is that adding acidic liquids to hot cream can make it split and curdle (that’s actually how you get cottage cheese), so if you’re looking for a citrus flavour I’d suggest infusing the cream with the rind not the juice. (If you want to make something like a wine ganache, you’ll need a recipe with extra ingredients to compensate for the added liquid and acid.)
Speaking of infusion, you may want to add flavouring from things that won’t dissolve smoothly; like vanilla pods, fresh herbs (e.g. rosemary or mint), fruit peel, culinary lavender or (as pictured) chillies. In this case what you want to do is infuse the flavour into the cream. To do this, soak your flavouring of choice in the heated cream to extract the essential oils and aromatics. For some flavours you can boil the cream with the flavouring to get the most out of it, but for more delicate flavours you might want to just steep the pieces in warm cream to avoid cooking away/ burning the taste. It’s a good idea to cut/ grate your flavour source fairly finely to release as much as possible. Once the cream is infused to your liking (the longer it sits the stronger the taste will be) you can strain the mix through a tea-strainer or mesh sieve to catch the chunky bits.
A quick note on infusing chilli The main thing that makes chillies ‘spicy’ is a chemical called capsaicin, which triggers the body’s pain and temperature receptors (making it feel like it’s burning you). Milk-based products (such as cream in our case) contain a protein called casein, which binds to and inhibits capsaicin – neutralising some of the heat. Capsaicin can also be dissolved and washed away by oils and sugars. Basically when you infuse chilli into a cream-ganache you’re surrounding it with things that either neutralise some of the heat or help it pass along faster, which means the end-product will be less spicy than the same amount of chilli used in other dishes. If you want a hot truffle you’ll need to use stronger chillies or add slightly more. (See this video to learn more about chilli and chocolate.)
Can you infuse pure chocolate? You can, but be careful. Make sure that your flavouring ingredient is completely dry and not something that would release any juice (again, water is your enemy). I would also avoid attempting any liquid or powdered additions since that could cause seizing. The things that I find have worked best are sitting whole woody herbs or spice pods in the chocolate as it melts (I’ve done this with rosemary). I’d recommend tying your flavouring into a bundle with some kitchen twine (or making a ‘teabag’ with some mesh cloth) to make it easier to remove; pure melted chocolate is harder to strain than cream. You can also salt your melted chocolate if you like. If you’re using real chocolate, remember to temper it once you’ve removed your ‘flavour bundle’ from the melt.
Once your cream is flavoured you can pour it over the chocolate to make ganache as normal – if needed warm it over a double boiler or microwave in short bursts until the chocolate is completely melted through. You can also colour white-chocolate-based ganache with a few drops of gel food dye for visual effect.
WHIPPED GANACHE
Let’s say you don’t want a very chocolate-heavy ganache as your filling (perhaps because it would be too rich). Or maybe you added too much cream while making your ganache and now you’re worried that your filling will be too runny at serving temperature.
What you can do here is whip your ganache to thicken it in the same way that you would whip cream. Any liquid that contains at least 30% fat can be whipped – the fat globules forming a stabilised network that traps tiny air bubbles. Meanwhile when you whip egg white/ gelatine/ aquafaba what you’re doing is stretching out proteins to create the air-trapping network. Since pure cream is typically 40% fat and chocolate typically contains 20-40% fat, a cream-chocolate ganache mixture has enough fat to whip up. Ganache whipped to stiff peaks will give you a thickness and structure similar to a cooled, chocolate-heavy ganache while being substantially lighter in richness and texture.
Whether you whip your ganache just to thicken it or all the way to peaks will depend on your starting thickness and personal preference for filling texture – how runny your original mix was and whether you prefer the filling gooier or fluffier. While you can whip ganache through enthusiastic application of a balloon-whisk, I would recommend using an electric beater (or at least a hand-crank) to save yourself the exertion.
Putting it all together: Truffle time
This type of truffle is made by pouring pure melted chocolate into a mould to a create chocolate shell, which you then fill with your flavoured ganache before sealing everything shut with more chocolate and allowing to set.
MOULDS & MOULD MATERIALS
In theory you could make chocolate in any kind of mould, but the thing to keep in mind is whether you’ll be able to get it out at the end without breaking the mould or shattering the chocolate. For example, you don’t want a shape that would hook into/ fold over the chocolate, because that part would just get trapped and break off. Ideally you want a mould with a bit of flex, so that you can pop the solidified truffles from the case more easily.
My recommendation is silicon moulds. These have enough heat resistance to handle warm chocolate while keeping their shape, while also being non-stick and pliable, which makes them easier to peel off your completed truffles. You can also use plastic ice-cube trays but there is a risk, since you need to apply more force to pop the truffle out, which can transfer to the shell and crack it – especially if you’re using a gooier filling that might shift around and press against the shell from the inside.
HOW MUCH CHOCOLATE DO YOU NEED FOR SHELLS?
This will depend heavily on both the volume of filling you make, and the size of the moulds. The smaller your moulds, the more chocolate you need relative to filling. That might seem backwards, but think about it this way: the smaller your mould is, the smaller the amount of filling that can fit inside, which means you’ll need more shells to use all that filling up (it’s a surface area thing). As a general rule of thumb, you need about 300 grams of chocolate per ‘ice-cube tray’ of moulds.
You can guesstimate the number of moulds you’ll need by comparing the volume of filling you expect your chocolate + cream to make (remembering that whipped ganache will expand) to the volume you expect each mould to take. It’s a good idea to overestimate the amount of shell chocolate you think you’ll need. If you end up with too many shells you can always fill them with other things, like buttercream/cream-cheese frosting, caramel, jam/jelly, peanut butter, citrus curd, wasabi (for prank truffles) or any leftover melted chocolate (which you could also press candy pieces into).
MAKING AND FILLING SHELLS
Okay, now that we’ve covered the theory, let’s make some truffles:
Step 1: Chill your chocolate moulds (making sure they’re clean and well-dried first). Either put them in the fridge overnight or in the freezer for a few hours. This will give your chocolate shells a head start on setting.
Step 2: Make your flavoured ganache and set aside. This gives your filling time to cool down while you prepare and chill the shells. If you add a warm filling to your thin chocolate casings, the heat will melt them. (Note: You will need to let your ganache cool to room temperature if you want it to whip properly.).
Step 3: Melt the chocolate, and temper it if needed. I would recommend using a heat-safe glass or pyrex bowl since those will hold heat for longer and you want to keep your chocolate warm enough to be workable throughout this process.
Step 4: Make your shell moulds:
Pour your chocolate into your first tray of chilled moulds. Using a spatula or the back of a knife, level the tops until they are flush with the moulds, scraping the excess chocolate back into the bowl for reuse.
Return the filled moulds to the refrigerator for 2-4 minutes to allow the outer layer to cool and harden into a shell – the longer you cool it for, the thicker the truffle shell will be.
Once chilled, invert the moulds back over the bowl to pour out the remaining chocolate ( you can gently tap or shake the tray to help encourage the liquid out).
Scrape the tops flush again, returning the excess to the bowl. Place the shells back in the fridge to harden completely.
Repeat with the next mould-tray, reducing the shell-chilling time each round since your chocolate will be cooler and set faster/thicker.
If you’re starting with lots of chocolate you can do two trays at a time, but since you need to completely fill each mould while the outer layer sets, a lot of the chocolate for the later shells is going to come from the excess poured out of the first moulds. You will not have enough to fill all your moulds at once. The chocolate poured from the last 1-2 moulds will be used to seal the filling inside later.
Step 5: Add your filling(s). If possible use a piping bag with a narrow tip to give you good control and help avoid spills or overfilling (if you don’t have a piping bag, you can improvise one by reinforcing the corner of a Ziploc bag with some tape and then snipping the tip off). You want to leave at least 3mm (1/9th inch) of headspace between the top of your filling and the top of the mould (this is to fit the chocolate cap). If needed, gently tap or jiggle your mould to even out the filling. For very thick fillings, you can use a toothpick/skewer to spread the filling into any gaps/air pockets. Return your moulds to the fridge for 5-10 minutes to help set the top of the filling.
Step 6: Seal your truffles. Check that the remaining melted chocolate is still liquid enough to be workable - if it has become too thick, microwave for no more than 10 seconds or briefly place it over a bowl of hot water, just enough to get it loose again. Spoon the chocolate to fill each truffle until it’s flush with the top of the mould – scraping any excess back into the bowl to use again. Here you need to be careful not to agitate the fillings or let them mix with the chocolate, otherwise your caps may not set.
Step 7: Chill your truffles for at least 2 hours (longer for larger moulds) or ideally overnight until the chocolate and filling have fully set. Once fully set, pop your truffles out of the moulds.
Step 8 (OPTIONAL): If you like, you can accessorise your truffles by drizzling with extra chocolate (remember to temper if using the real stuff) or topping with whipped cream, extra whipped ganache or other decorations (if you wanted, you could use a small amount of chocolate to stick on sprinkles or sugar flowers) . This is an especially good idea if you’re making truffles with different fillings inside the same type of shell and want to be able to tell them apart.
The ones in the picture
For the chilli-truffles in the picture, I infused three chopped fresh red chillies (with seeds) by boiling in approximately 200mL of pure cream, then strained and combined it with 225g each of White and Milk Chocolate to make slightly more than 2 cups of runny ganache. (You can absolutely use darker chocolates to make the ganache but be aware that darker chocolates have a stronger cocoa taste that can drown out/ mask more delicate flavours. Pick the sweetness/darkness of chocolate that plays well with the profile of your chosen flavour.) Since the ganache was runny, I let it cool and whipped it to semi-stiff peaks. For these truffle shells and caps I used 900g of tempered dark chocolate, set in my supermarket’s home-brand heart moulds:
This recipe made 24 (with some of the ganache reserved for decorating the tops) plus some extra chocolate shells which I filled with peanut butter.
Have fun with it!
The reason I wrote this post the way I did is that I don’t really stick to a precise recipe when making this kind of truffle anymore. Once you have the basics down, feel free to play around. Try out other combinations of chocolates and flavours, different moulds and different fillings.

Idea! They talk about different worlds in HDM, imagine one where like people cross into the world of the dead all the time to be able to get distance from their daemons cuz that sounds hella convenient, and then someone gets into a tiff with their daemon, so the daemon moves out and goes to stay with their friend and then their human like shows up with a bouquet or something like “IM SORRY BABE, COME BACK!” and then this very stuffy looking pig struts out and looks down at them like “...I’ll think about it.”

Baby Boom
@blind-mutant here we go!! For anyone else who reads this, this is uhhh an au??? Based off a fic I wrote for Devin's birthday in which Rhys lives a happy life with Wulf, Sal, Pascal, Lace, Mahogany and Dae! They also have a ton of babies (the carrier for all of these is Mahogany, they're still trying to get Sal to have a baby for them to coddle during all this) and here are some headcanons (tho core details like appearance, names, powers aren't decided since I want it to be a duo thing to share).
Malf (Wulf x Mahogany)
Oldest baby since Wulf is incredibly fertile
Big baby. Mahogany had quite a few worried boys around them when they got close to their due date and Baby themself got Mahogany exhausted.
So for the first few weeks it was the boys mostly taking care of Baby while Mahogany rested.
Spent the past six months being carried by Wulf before the last month was spent with only Dae being allowed to go near because he doesn't smell of much. Mahogany could only stand him and it made Dae cry every time.
Ate a LOT of meat since they were already the size of a one year old despite Mahogany being carrying for six months.
Screamed any time they were left alone and thus someone had to be in the room with them or holding them.
Even without powers,,,,ridiculously strong,,,dragged a chair with Sal still sitting on it and they were only a year and a half.
Angwy lil bab when the twins were born. Father crew had to keep an eye on them because Pascal launched out of bed one morning (throwing Rhys across the bed by accident) and caught Baby dragging the twins out to the woods,,,and then spent another hour holding a wailing Baby over it.
Wild Child. The kid who screams "FA!" and comes running in with a snake they found before announcing that they were bitten excitedly.
Wants stories all the time and everything they get told depends with "That's not what Auntie Edith/Uncle Mordecai says!"
Had very weird body proportions where they're skinny look but has big ass hands and feet,,,,like Michael from tma.
Stomps everywhere.
Ridiculously tall when grown. Gets yelled at by Rhys or Sal and they have to squat to be at eye level.
Kinda neurotic about keeping packs together and self obessed idea of being the next Alpha. Starts a few fights with Mahogany that leaves them both scarred, much to the worry of everyone else.
Rhogal (Rhys x Mahogany/x Pascal?)
Mahogany got pregnant when Wulf Baby was two.
No one knew who's this one was and automatically assumed Rhys because pale and one was blind.
But then Lace openly wondered if they worked like a cat and could have multiple fathers and then doubts settled in.
Did not help that Baby Two would start giggling ominously before something bad happned.
Anyway, easier birth! Less stress and less muching if you don't include Wulf Baby's attempts at getting rid of them.
Smol, got carried around by Rhys a lot and could fit into Wulf's palms which made some knees weak.
Generally didn't seem much trouble at first but then it Began.
Pls Baby One, let go of the spoon, I swear you'll get more meat mush in a second- oh my god where did Baby Two go????
Lots of rushing around looking for Satan before Baby Two would just calmly pad in with a dead dove or napping in Alpha's hair.
Twins need to hold AT LEAST a body part of someone. Sal's hands?? Wulf's hair??? Rhys's feet when asleep??? It'll do. Especially if it makes Papa Rhys scream funny.
Sal shows them the shining twins and still getting punished for it to this day I hear.
Asks a lot of questions that seem emotional and gut punching. Baby One asks Wulf if they're monsters when being tucked into bed, Baby Two cheerfully asks Dae what's gonna happen if he dies at the family breakfast.
Absolutely ride or die and everyone and no one knows if they can change sizes because no one sees them as adults together strangely enough.
Rarely fights but when they do??? Oh its BIG. To the point where Mahogany has to pull a big scary move that makes everyone step back.
One twin is so gross like, Lilo licking Nani level, but no one knows until it's too late.
Scared of fires but urge to arson is terribly strong in these babies.
Wulf Baby hated them and then it got worse because you had two tiny terrors annoying and bullying Wulf Baby lowkey for months.
Lagni (Lace x Mahogany)
Wulf Baby is 4, the twins are 2 and Lace Baby is a wee bab!
Dad Squad is getting to be experienced, knows to set up a den in the bedroom, only Dae and babies can go near them in the last month and Wulf Baby is VERY proud of being able to play at Alpha and look after their carrier.
Lace Baby was....surprisingly normal at first and ok no one expected that but no one was going to argue since they all knew how powerful Lace was when off his meds.
Things were fine! But then a few weeks and,,,,Mahogany was sweating and Sal wouldn't stop bleeding and being sick and Rhys got surrounded by his shadows and isolated. Lace cried later that night.
Still! They got around it and Carter helped out by telling the government that he had a second child and they got some medication for Lace Baby to have in order to calm them down, at least until they could be taught some control.
Quiet but....weirdly attentive?? A month old and yet nodded when asked questions. Prodigy baby, Wulf says proudly.
Likes sitting near their fathers and getting hobbies. Lace was strict in telling Rhys he wasn't allowed to scare people and luckily Lace Baby just picked up music from him.
Likes brawling with Wulf Baby and is seemingly durable so more than once Pascal has yelled because Wulf Baby tossed a giggling Lace Baby across the room with one hand.
Addicted to hanging out with cousin Logan to the point where they have been a bit rude and blown off their own siblings. Got a big fight about it that ended up with Baby One sulking with their head in Rhys's lap and sniffling.
Wants to move out but not in a bad way just....wants to study and learn about what they are, what their PACK is. Begs Uncle Abara to teach them demon stuff.
Accent changes with who they speak to. Has a stutter with Dae before switching to rough Irish when begging to go hunting.
Likes to stray from family but the slightest thing that upsets them?? Comes home sobbing to their parents, half of which only teach their shoulders now.
Cried easily? Medication made them have swings and some time Rhys said something and they cried and he still feels bad about it years later. Wulf is confused because all Rhys said was that they can't take a sword to school.
Likes making charts and playing games that Dae.
Burns themself out a lot and that causes worry for the family when they're eight and suddenly passing out after chasing after Mahogany.
Secretly keeps and cuddles a sweater from one of the parents and sleeps with it. Mortified if anyone found out about their blankie.
Mahl (Sal x Mahogany)
Wulf Baby is 5, the twins are 3 and Lace Baby is 1!
No one actually knew this time Mahogany was pregnant because the bump was so small and they weren't eating as much. Really, Mahogany started craving sweeter stuff and ate sap and honey for 6 months instead of meat.
Therefore, this is the one baby Mahogany finally got to have in the middle of nowhere and came back with late afternoon. Sal passed out immediately.
S m o l. Literally kitten sized. But had a perfect affinity for sound and therefore had the horrifying gift for copying voices. More than once they were woken up to Sal Baby screaming like an adult man and one time they woke up to Pascal's own voice screaming back at him.
Suckles a lot and this was cute until they grew teeth Mahogany has sharp teeth, Sal has blocky teeth. Baby has jagged teeth. Also the only baby who didn't eat meat but rather drank honey for months on end before finally eating meat.
Everyone thought Sal hated them because he never spoke to them until he finally sighed after a crying session and ruffled their hair and called Baby "Snuffle-Truffles". Wulf cried.
Didn't move for ages until Rhys didn't hold them one day after everyone ELSE did and Sal Baby finally got up and passed after him for their daily shadow dad cuddles.
Smol but f a s t. Scaled a wall in less than a minute and the wall was high enough that it takes about three minutes to hurry if you aren't a giant noodle who can litreally climb up.
Baby can touch Dae safely and that's because he woke up scremaing when Baby Sal was found suckling on his fingers and was....perfectly fine. There was a lot of crying.
Wants to Dance(Tm) but,,,,clumsy dancer. Has the legs of a chunky chicken wing to baby deer.
Baby of the family and they know it. Has some health issues later and VERY wild physical changes later on in life.
Mahogany is still bothering Sal about carrying a baby or two because they wanna coddle but haha what are the chances of that happening,,,,,:3 :3 >:3
Lace Baby is the teen that dumps their parents and Sal Baby is the teen that is mortified by the amount of baby pictures.

Really, Really Slow Thoughts on TRR Book 3, Chapter 3
• This QT took two days. Because my pace has been sluggish. Because my thoughts on this chapter have been sluggish.
• This chapter is the only time in the entire series that I was barely invested. That’s only ever happened to be at the beginning of Book 1, and only because I didn’t think it would amount to anything beyond a Cinderella story. I haven’t been in that space with a single chapter in this book since Book 1,Chapter 8. I’m just…bored.
• Title: Allies among Enemies. Sounds very Kenna and Luther, no? But I doubt Kenna ever had to sit and play marriage counselor to a squabbling couple.
•
Esther asking all the relevant questions.
I mean, sure, Bertrand, I get it: I need to make a tour and that involves visiting other duchies, Justin thinks Madeleine would make a bomb press secretary, and I have to play matchmaker for her parents –
Wait what. Why do I need to resolve a personal fight because Madeleine’s parents? I know it’s all about reaching out and getting allies and making connections but playing armchair therapist just sounds extremely silly.
• I like that they’re carrying over the “house colours” strategy from TCaTF. Kenna occasionally did this during alliances, especially when meeting with the Nevrakis family.

So I have a dress “as green as Madeleine’s envy towards me and black as her shrivelled heart” (bomb analogy, Maxwell!). Buuuut I’m taking part in a court event. A formal ball. Why is the dress style more like what I wore in the club for Madeleine’s bachelorette and Liam’s bachelor party???
• Also can you imagine how awkward waltzing would look in this dress? Ballroom dresses are long and flowy for a reason. Part of the beauty of your twirl comes from how your skirt flows when you’re turning, esp in a dance like the Cordonian Waltz where the twirl is the highlight.
• So I’m supposed to ensure Adeleide comes for the wedding. Loooogically the story should make this easier on me because I already did the hard work of winning her over the last book right? Wrong. Because the story doesn’t care. It doesn’t care which Liam I chose, whether I’ve ever worn pepto bismol in my life or not, whether I charmed the pants off Adeleide (not literally). Nope. I still have to start from scratch (wouldn’t be the first time tho. I won over Kiara and Penelope in Book 1 only for them to ditch me next book [even though Penelope knew it wasn’t my fault. You owe me big, sister]).
• Soooo Godfrey, Madeleine’s dad, is an English nobleman. His marriage to Adeleide was a political alliance and he doesn’t actually give a shit about Cordonia unless his daughter is the goddamn country’s queen.
• Hmm. So Madeleine is half Cordonian too. Jesus Christ for a country that doesn’t like foreigners very much, a lot of its major players seem to have at least one non-Cordonian parent: Liam (possibly), Madeleine, Drake, Hana…
• I was a little confused because Book 1 mentioned that Madeleine is “practically royalty” from her father’s side - but it’s possible that’s more a hint towards his English roots. I guess we can rule him out for who the enemy is rn because this dude genuinely doesn’t give a shit.
• So Liam, whose interactions with Godfrey have been few and far between and who admits he has never really met him in a social setting, is the one who provides us inputs on how to deal with the Duke. Turns out this advice is pretty helpful, coming from someone who barely knows the man.
•
Savour this moment, Liam stans. This - and the “we need to avoid this lack of crowd at our wedding” exchange, are the only times we will get to properly interact with him today.
• I know this decor looks like a piñata threw up over the ballroom but I love the purple and the soft lighting xD
• So the first event post Homecoming is super empty, which is quite dishearting. It’s enough to make even our resident bar-hopper Adeleide upset.

Is it just me or does “STOICISM RULEZ!!!” Regina sound like she gives zero fucks today? I mean sure it could just be her usual irritation around Adelaide but here even Constantine seems a little taken aback. And besides, it’s not the Krona duchy that needs anything from the Crown, it’s the Crown that needs something from them. Your arrogance doesn’t have any legs to stand on, Regina.
• Also idk but am I the only one getting a different vibe from Regina this book? In the debriefing meeting she wasn’t there at all, and this is someone who has been a part of every meeting we’ve seen in the books. Then she comes here, to an event where if anything SHE needs to be begging her cousin to come for her stepson’s/some random noblewoman’s wedding, and she’s busy making snappy comments about the appetizers (and let’s be honest, everyone else found their spread incredibly good. Even Drake. DRAKE)
• Madeleine’s dad is essentially Madeleine Sr.
• “Magic Friendship Dust” my ass.
• Madeleine’s reaction to this “be my press secretary” thing is “I told you so” followed by a resounding (implied) “fuck you”. What else were you expecting, Esther?

It’s great that they say this, but I would have preferred if they showed it. It really isn’t that hard. Show him talking independently to a noble or two (you don’t even have to show their faces) - winning some over and not managing to sway some others. The reason a lot of Liam fans are upset is that not only does the writing make weak excuses to keep him from working WITH the MC, we aren’t even given a proper glimpse of what he IS doing!
I’ll return to this point later, because I have a LOT to say 😠
• …cheeseburgers aren’t appetizers, Drake.
• I’d agree with you about the buffalo wings tho.
• Nomnom that pasta looks good.
• I’d betray me for a plate of truffled penne too, Esther.

Back in the essay I wrote on the Balcony Scene, I spoke of how Liam’s mother’s story seemed like a mirror to the MC’s (I mentioned that she might be a foreigner, though, and given that Neville and Drake make the comparison between the MC and her, and that her son is customizable by ethnicity, I still think there are chances that is true). Called it! xD
• Neville is still as big a creep as he ever was and this scene was extremely ugly, especially with regards to Drake. But it was also extremely powerful because the group gets to rally around and protect him, and show Neville that Drake has people who will support him no matter what. It was a scene I felt was needed because it gives you a much better idea of what Drake has had to deal with in court. (also I know he’s taking the tour coz he wants a wife [good luck getting one with THAT level of creepy, asshole!] but I’m suspicious about him following ppl he doesn’t even like around).
• This is also amazing buildup to the dancing scene. The version of the scene I got was automatically platonic, which I loved, and I got more comfortable with this scene than I have ever felt with any non-Liam-LI scene so far (you know how you keep stressing about accidental romance points? That).
• In my playthrough, Esther keeps it professional, gives him encouragement, teaches him how to glide using a mental image. Drake points out he needs to give Liam adequate support and he will need to actually prove himself to other nobles for that. As a romantic scene, it really shines (and indeed it should, given that the Cordonian waltz is primarily romantic) but it works very well on a platonic level too.
• I also really, really loved the comparison Drake made between his situation and hers: that the MC is proof that he can hold on to who he is even if he becomes a part of the nobility/has endured this much from them. Drake’s character arc is built heavily on his fear that being part of the nobility can change people, based on very valid experiences. We’ve seen in this chapter how desperately some nobles cling to their titles, almost using it to make up for their lack of personality (I’m looking at you, Neville and Godfrey). But he has proof all around him too, that you don’t need to lose who you are through a title. In a lot of ways this plays really well into his “letting go” arc as well.
• Okay so I went with Godfrey first. He’s talking to Liam, who again makes a disappearing act (I don’t mind, because the MC specifically stated she wanted to speak to the Duke alone). I’m not surprised Liam wasn’t making much headway. This is the second dude to dump Madeleine after all, and worse still he’s brother to the first dude to dump her. No wonder Liam’s sticking to safe subjects like choice of scotch!
• YIKES @ Godfrey’s constant harping of successes and defeats. Why don’t we talk about what a failure YOU are as a dad, Duke Karlington, since you’re only ever there for Madeleine to tell her what a failure she is!
• I like the exchange they show us between Adeleide and Regina before the MC steps in. Regina’s care and concern for Madeleine has pretty much been there from the beginning and for what it’s worth, it has been genuine.
• Oh man. I want to give Adeleide a hug and some champagne. I mean I don’t exactly envision her winning the “best mother” award anytime soon, but she’s trying. Perhaps a little too pushy and a little too focused on her own coping mechanisms, but still, she cares enough about Madeleine to want to be there for her no matter what. Which is more than I can say for Godfrey, who thinks being a father means paying an annual visit to his goddamn FAMILY and judges people for failing when he’s perhaps the biggest failure in the room.
• Waltz time!
• Though between Esther not having a twirly skirt and Drake having an injured shoulder I’m not sure they even looked that good.
• WTF ESTHER WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU DOES THAT LOOK LIKE A MAN WHO IS IN ANY CONDITION TO MANAGE A LIFT

• I’m not going to comment much on the scene because it’s going to be part of my group scenes essay, but I *will* say I’m so happy Hana gets her due in this one. She really shines in terms of character development in this scene and she gets the best line this whole chapter xD xD xD

• I think Hana has had this burn simmering in her pressure cooker ever since the bell-pepper episode in Shanghai 😂😂
• “You all know there’s more to me than liking whiskey, right?”
This is unfair and inaccurate, people. Of course there’s more. He likes cheeseburgers and pasta and greasy junk food too, cmon.
• I recall speaking not too long ago about how Madeleine and Hana had very different approaches to similar issues (family pressure, feeling like they are failures, broken engagements with men they didn’t love), and that Madeleine very possibly faced a lot of family pressure (I was wrong about the source being Adeleide, though). To me this forms part of why Hana can see Madeleine the way no one else can, and why it’s essential to have her around when Madeleine opens up.
• This doesn’t really change my opinion of Madeleine, though. It makes sense of some things, but in my mind nothing can really justify the sick pleasure Madeleine gets out of breaking people. She makes excuses for herself by calling it “not tiptoeing on other people’s fragile feelings”, but that would imply she was just being honest and not actively working towards making people feel like shit. In both Hana and Penelope’s cases she was actively working on making them feel like they were beneath her, and enjoying doing that. To me what she did, especially to Hana, was emotional abuse. Speaking ecstatically about “breaking” a human being who has harmed you in no way, is abusive. No more, no less.
• Please don’t tell me a Madeleine and Hana ship will be a thing now. No. Eww. I’d rather not pair Hana with someone who was actively trying to break her. I don’t care how much of a “crush” Madeleine seems to have.
• No matter how misguided Adeleide’s attempts to parent Madeleine are, to me she clearly wins the parenting stakes hands down. She may have made Madeleine feel like she couldn’t mourn what happened to her, but at least she views her daughter as more of a human being than a prize horse.

Didn’t lie to get her way? Was saying “I’m allergic to chocolate and you could have killed me” just a figment of my imagination then???

• You have to be fucking kidding me. The MC is a duchess now. The Beaumonts are supposed to be helping her. These three should be at the top of their itinerary right now, not throwing things together at the last minute every chapter. Isn’t this Unity Tour supposed to be about knowing your allies and enemies, and preparing accordingly? Being unprepared (somehow, barely) made sense to some extent in the first two books, but things are different now.
• Penelope next week! That woman owes us big time.
General Thoughts on this Chapter:
• Things I feel might come up in Penelope’s estate:
1. Penelope’s anxiety and her parents’ fears about sending her back to court
2. Personal issues within the family maybe? Perhaps Penelope’s desire to take up pet couture designing and her mother’s disapproval of the same might feature.
3. At some point there may be some sort of redemption arc for her where she gets reminded of her involvement in what happened to the MC earlier. Penelope clearly owes the MC a great debt for letting her off the hook so easily.
4. I’ll be damned if I have to play therapist for these people too 😠
• This whole idea of “meddling” is stupid. These people are adults. Grown people, who should be expected to know how to handle their own lives and talk to each other. The royalty/the MC shouldn’t be expected to babysit them. That’s not what we came here for.
• It stings even more when you take into account that the common public is feeling pretty terrified at the moment, and having their own, and here we are busy resolving the family squabbles of rich people.
• It highlights even more strongly what’s wrong with the whole idea of a Unity Tour. I’m hoping this “resolving-aristocrat-issues” thing won’t become a pattern because it’s beginning to look ridiculous.
• @ladynevrakis mentions in her excellent write-up on this week’s chapter that this chapter is a lot better if you’re a non-Liam shipper, and extremely frustrating if you are.
Correct on both counts. As the MC you’re just starting out as a noblewoman, and you will need all the support you can get. If you’re with Drake (especially Drake), Hana or Maxwell, you get plenty opportunities for support from all of them. With Liam, you barely get a few lines here and there before he’s completely MIA. There is no opportunity for Liam or his fiancee to talk properly, or work together as a team. And this house is unquestionably the toughest one, so why does the writing not give Liam any chance to truly be there for her when she needs it???
• I can understand why he wasn’t there for the most part. In the Neville sequence he isn’t there precisely because the writers need to highlight how people treat Drake when Liam isn’t around (and to show what people say about Liam behind his back), and there is no way you could have Liam around in either the group scene or the final scene with the family without making things worse (daughter’s former fiancè, hello?). Plus if the MC is not engaged to him, it would look weird for him to be present at some of these conversations.
STILL, there were a whole range of ways you could write him without him actually being involved in the patch-up, and still do justice to his character:
1. Eat with the group: The group eating scene could have been a perfect time to have Liam come, speak about his progress with convincing ppl, bond with the group over the delicious spread, and leave before Neville enters.
2. Check in periodically: Liam is my MC’s fiancè. They are here together on their first tour as a couple. They’re doing this tour for his people and his country. She is a newcomer and it is essential he has her back. It wouldn’t have hurt to have him come in on occasion and ask her how she is holding up. It wouldn’t have taken more than a scene or two, really, and it could have worked perfectly both on a neutral and romantic level. If you’re going to make Drake such a huge presence in this chapter that you’d go the extra mile and write him two ways, you can very well do the same for Liam. It’s even more essential in his case because he is the King of Cordonia and pretty damn invested in making this tour work.
3. Have the MC notice what Liam was doing independent of her: The writing team is no stranger to writing conversations that don’t involve the MC’s presence at all. We know Liam was spending time speaking to the few nobles in attendance, but we’re never shown how he does this or whether he succeeds. I know he’s as hard at work as the MC is, but I don’t see what he’s doing. Could you really blame readers for thinking he is less involved, then?
4. The Little Things: A gentle touch here, a smile there if he’s your fiancè. Things you would do with your partner when you don’t have much time together but still want to show them they care.
It’s not like the writers don’t know how to involve Liam. They’ve done a really good job of this in the past. The entire social season saw Liam working behind the scenes to ensure the MC was protected and cared for, even when he couldn’t be involved. The engagement tour had him pitching in to help whenever it didn’t seem too suspicious to. In all these instances they kept in mind Liam’s role and limitations, and STILL managed to make him proactive.
The writers had plenty opportunity this chapter to have Liam be there for her in small ways, but hardly bothered to involve him. I appreciate wanting to make his interactions as neutral as possible but that doesn’t mean you don’t put any effort into writing him at all.
To add insult to serious injury, this chapter follows another one where the MC practically takes over Liam’s speech (post the video), leaving Liam with little space to do anything besides agreeing with her. It’s essential - now more than ever - to portray Liam as decisive and proactive, yet the writing has him take 10 steps backwards in terms of character development. The MC is his fiancèe/close friend now. She should be able to see him properly as a politician and a leader at this point. If that doesn’t get resolved soon, we’re in danger of screwing up an interesting character who has a lot of potential.
• I’m still holding out on this book, because it’s still early and I believe they can turn things around and ensure there is a fair balance between the LIs. They are taking what we say into consideration and they have worked hard to make our other LIs’ interactions with us as safe and platonic as possible. I think this is a matter of balance, and I still think they can manage to do a good job of it once they ensure there is a balance.
• But this chapter? I’m not going pretend I’m happy.

1. Where was the last place you traveled?
Hmm. I haven’t really gone anywhere interesting in a good while other than Philly I guess? That doesn’t even really count tho since I go there for work lol. So uhh, I guess Vermont last year was the last place I’ve traveled to!
2. Chapter of the Silmarillion that gets you the most emotional?
I haven’t really read the Silm in quite a while tbh (I had to find my copy to remember the chapter title oops) but I gotta go with Of The Voyage of Earendil and the War of Wrath
3. And why?
Whew uh. I think it’s just that sense of ending that gets me. All the sudden, in one chapter, this whole fantastical era is over. I think it’s me also projecting my own kinda leftover romantic ideas about real life history and fairy tales and knights in shining armor stuff onto this part of Middle-earth history. Like even if the first age wasn’t at all noble knights in shining armor, it was still new and larger than life and beautiful in its own way and like a fairy tale and then it’s just all over. Not to say everything after this chapter isn’t all of those things but yeah.
4. Which do you think is more important to civilization, science or art?
Both are important! They’re more intertwined than we like to think! Please don’t make me try and expand on this statement bc idk what I’m talking about because I don’t really think about this on an every day basis!
5. Tell me your go-to order at one of your favorite restaurants:
Oh man...... there’s a fancy-ish pizza place in town that does prosciutto paninis and they are SO GOOD. They make their own mozzarella there and have parmesan truffle fries that I would probably make a deal with the devil to get if I had no money.
6. If you write or make art, what’s one idea you’ve had that you haven’t started working on (yet)? (If you don’t, what’s one leisure activity you’d like to do, but haven’t?)
Mmm I haven’t really had any ideas about writing in a long time (even though I only ever wrote little drabbles that I share with no one hghfjg) but I’d like to start sewing if that counts as a leisure activity!! I really just wanna make myself fancy cloaks n stuff like a giant nerd :)
7. Do you have a pet? If so, what kind?
Yes! I have two Very Bad cats named Winnifred and Yzma and a betta fish named Lil Kylo.
8. What’s one thing you’re looking forward to right now?
VACATION. We leave for Vermont in exactly one week!!!

Does my Star of Feanor tattoo count as an item........ IF NOT, then uh, probably the little Shadow of War bottle opener my brother gave me lmao. I don’t even play but it’s cool and very handy and also solid metal and therefore doubles as an actual tiny weapon which I LOVE. (I don’t actually own very much fandom related stuff for ANY fandom tbh)

BOTW Zelink end up adopting a puppy to help with PTSD after the Calamity is defeated. Zelda wants to name the dog something scientific and Link wants to name it something related to food. In the end they use "Sidon" as a place holder and it sticks (tho they call him Sid for short)
It was raining cats and dogs outside.
Not literally, of course, but with how loud the pounding on the roof of Link’s Hateno home was, it may as well have been. The loud crash of thunder completed the effect of a midsummer rainstorm.
Zelda paced the first floor in an anxious figure eight pattern. Step step step, pivot, step step step, pivot…so on and so forth.
“Where is he?” She muttered. It always felt much better to speak her feelings aloud.
Link had been gone for hours. “Going to catch dinner,” was his only clue to his whereabouts. He should be back by now, but he wasn’t, and the storm was continuing to worsen.
Crack! A thunderclap rattled the house, lighting so close it shook the frame and wobbled the cutlery in the cabinets. Zelda winced. In three bounds she was at the entrance, her heart pounding in her chest as she unlocked the clasp. She didn’t need to open the door—it nearly flung open from the force of the wind alone, and rain pelted her face and clothes like cold needles.
“Link!” She cried into the night, one foot out of the doorway. Wind buffeted her dress, already sodden, and the heavy rain made it difficult to see. She called his name again, still with no response.
Another flash of lightning, almost blindingly bright, forced her to retreat back to the house. But it was then that she finally made out a silhouette running across the bridge.
“Zelda!” Just the sound of Link’s voice filled her with relief. He ran to her, bow strapped to his back, cradling a bundle wrapped in his hood cape close to his chest. “What are you doing? It’s dangerous out here!” He pulled her into the house, closing and latching the door (with some effort).
“What am I doing?” Zelda furrowed her brow. “Where have you been? It’s been hours since you left, and this storm is awful.”
Rather than anger, Link responded with a small smile. “I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to worry you. Besides, you know it would take more than a little storm to bring me down.” His smile spread into a grin.
Zelda rolled her eyes and laughed, pulling him into a hug. “I can’t argue with that logic,” she whispered. It felt like a huge weight had lifted from her chest, wriggling and breaking free from her hold—wait, what is that? Her eyes widened. It wasn’t just an emotion she was feeling, something was literally moving between them. She pulled apart from Link’s hold a little, horrified to find the bundle he was holding was wiggling. Despite her confusion, Link just laughed, pulling the hood apart to reveal…
“A dog?”
Zelda was dumbfounded.
Link laughed harder.
It was a Hebran Husky, snuggled in the blankets. Its fur was an odd, fiery shade of red, with a white face and underbelly. By the size of its paws—too massive for its tiny body—it couldn’t have been more than a few weeks old, just weaned from its mother. Zelda’s stare softened. It shivered feverously, fur soaked through with cold rainwater, clinging to Link like he was the last warmth it would ever feel.
“This is why I was so late.” Link explained. His voice was soft and quiet, treating the pup as if it were an infant. Something about that made Zelda smile.
She watched as Link discarded the cloak, letting it fall to the floor with a wet thud. He unstrapped his bow with one hand, placed it on the wall, and crossed the room to the small fireplace he had Bolson install a few months earlier. “I found him at the edge of the road, by the forest just outside the village,” he explained, sitting close to the fire to warm the pup. “I couldn’t just leave him there.”
As if on cue, another bolt of lightning struck nearby, rattling the house. The puppy squirmed at the sound, his tiny voice yelping a weak bark. Zelda’s heart melted. It was such a pathetic noise, primal fear and anxiety, pure and raw emotion.
“I’m sure we can care for the dog,” She answered, voice as quiet as Link’s. She took a place beside him at the fire. “Let me take him,” she offered, arms outstretched. “You need to change out of those wet clothes before you catch cold.”
Link nodded. He lifted the pup out of his lap with great care, turning to hand him to Zelda. The puppy barked at first, squirming in fear, but as he settled into Zelda’s arms he calmed again. She smiled at him, running her fingers through his short, damp fur. In response, the pup relaxed. His shivers subsided as his fur dried, becoming softer to the touch. He fit well into Zelda’s lap: snout nuzzled under her neck, bum tucked between her legs, body snug in the crook of her arm. His eyes were closed in sleep, paws twitching with dreams.
After just ten minutes, Zelda was in love.
“We’re keeping him,” she whispered to Link as he returned in a fresh set of clothes.
He smiled, sitting beside her to pet the pup. “Good. Guess I rehearsed a speech for nothing.”
Zelda chuckled. “What should we call him?” She asked, seeing the pup wag his tail in his sleep.
“I’ve been calling him Sidon,” Link answered first.
Zelda furrowed her brow. “You never name something after someone that’s still alive!” She scolded.
“Of course not!” Link pouted. “It’s just because his fur colors remind me of him. I didn’t want to actually call him that.”
“Still, highly inappropriate,” Zelda wagged a finger at Link, but smiled. “What do you want to call him, then?”
“I don’t know. Cinnamon?” He answered with a flat tone.
“That sounds a bit girly. How about,” she hummed in thought, looking down to the pup and playing with its paws. “Guardian?”
Link gave her a look. “That’s not a name.”
“They say dogs are like guardians to humans.” Zelda shrugged. “Scout?”
“Still not a name.”
“It’s a perfectly acceptable dog’s name!”
“Only if you want it to be a military dog. How about Curry?”
“That’s a food!”
“Chestnut?”
“Link!”
“Truffle?”
“You’re just hungry, aren’t you?” Zelda gave Link a dull look, ignoring the fact that they’d been leaning closer together the more they fought.
“Starved,” Link grinned. In a single, smooth motion, he grasped her face, stole a quick kiss, stood, and walked off. “I’m making meat skewers tonight!” He called to a flummoxed Zelda.
In the end, they never decided on a proper name for the dog, so they just called him Sid. He carried the name well. Sid was prideful, energetic, and just as friendly as his Zoran counterpart.

I've never gotten an ask like this! Really cool idea.
Its funny, doing this a few months ago, or even a few years, and i would have probably struggled or brushed it off. But i actually made an insta post recently about how i'm just really content with who i am and where i am. Lets do this!
1. I like my positivity. I hardly ever look on the "dark/bad" side of things. Not in a toxic way, like bad things dont exist or that they are inherently bad, but in the sense that, yeah. Bad things happen. What are you gonna do? Wallow in the badness? Or make a choice to be happy. Make a choice to turn it around. Its okay. I just love the mindset ive spent years cultivating, because it keeps me in a really good headspace and takes care of my mental health, even if things arent going great. #PMA
2. I like my ability to create. I didnt have a lot of natural talent when i started as an artist. I only made my first proper drawing (not just scribbles or projects as a kid) in sixth grade. After that i started drawing more and more. I loved it. I used to watch youtube tutorials on how to draw facial features, and i happened across one of those i used to watch all the time about noses--and i can proudly say i can draw a nose so much better than that tutorial.
3. I like that i make people feel good. I make a point to show my appreciation for anyone i come across. And i genuinely mean every word of it. If i come to your blog, your door, your instagram, shouting how much i love you--i mean every word. Everyone deserves to know how much others appreciate them, and being on a constant quest to brighten people's days is one of the things i love about me.
4. I like my hair. Its down to my waist, and i adore it. Every so often i contemplate chopping it off, but i just.. i cant do it. I love having long hair, even tho it sucks for sports sometimes. I just love it. And it makes me happy when other people love it too.
5. I like my sense of awareness. Whether it be basic common decency, knowing when its my time to contribute, being aware of my privileges, knowing when its time to stop--i just really appreciate that i know whats going on and how to be a good human.

well my favorite lyrics would be p much any borns song (just pretend i put the special o ok im too lazy to google it n then copy n paste) OR the lyrics to Neptune by Sleeping At Last?? they’re so pretty and idk.... i’ve known that song since last summer but it still calms me down whenever i hear it

well idk about COLLECT but i want more albums......tbh i only became a kpop stan last december and i have more 5sos merch (DVD, albums, t shirts) than kpop IM A MESS but i rly wanna start collecting stickers of svt bc there are a lot of rly cute svt stickers

umm when i went to LA it was pretty cool!! i was there for five days and i didnt go to in n out but i went to nice guy?? the portions were tiny and i ate my food and my mom’s food and my sister’s food LMAOOO but!! it was good but their truffle fries were gross tho :/ it was comicon weekend and i took a train to san diego and met zack(zach??) and keith from buzzfeed and got a picture nbiohinoinxbbdn i was shaking and being SOO ANNOYING but it was fun!

umm svt for sure!!! i think its bc thats always where my ult has been (first it was jeonghan then it was joshua now its josh/hao) and also i joined the fandom right after booomboom came out??? before all the christmas stuff and i was just amazed by how talented they were i learned everything about them in like three days
