Years later, I still feel as creeped out as I did the first time when Abby got Buck’s number unprofessionally and asked him out. She was stalkerish and calling him boytoy. Buck wanted love.
I could understand her struggles. Especially after the recent truth about Tommy being her ex. Girl, I get you. But dios, I’ve always been and will be team Buck there. And I just can’t get over that churning feeling every time I see her.
Eddie, I know what you felt when you saw her. I know.

I don’t hate Abby. I hate Abby Clark. I’ll take Taylor over her any day.

*at a grant nash BBQ*
buck: *staring off into space*
eddie: he's about to say something really funny or absolutely horrifying
tommy: what?
hen: just wait
buck: did you know these two orcas trained other orcas to kill sharks by taking out their liver and testicles?
eddie: yep horrifying
tommy: wait, really?
buck: yup, off the coast of africa there's these two orcas called port and starboard and they hunt sharks to eat their liver and testicles, they tag team them, one goes for their fins while the other takes out the liver, so far they've taken down five great whites, they even killed khaleesi, who was being tracked and traced for research purposes
tommy: oh my god really?
hen: *looks at tommy and smiles*
eddie: *whispers to hen* he's perfect for him
hen: *whispers back* i know!
buck: yeah! port and starboard have even started teaching other orcas to do the same! so far port and starboards record of how many sharks killed in a day is seventeen!
tommy: oh my god, that's insane baby, what else have port and starboard done?
buck: well they also hunt copper sharks and some fish, they even chased the great whites away from africa for seven weeks! but this isn't even the first time orcas have done something like this, in the early 1900's there was this orca called old tom who would help whalers hunt baleen whales, he even tugged the boats into the right position to get the whales, this happened in the port of eden new south whales in australia, you can actually go and see old tom's skeleton in eden killer whale meuseum, and on his teeth you can see marks from where he would pull the roaps! and old tom even has missing teeth because the whalers had this thing called "law of tounge" where they would strap the dead whales down so old tom and his pod could eat the lips and tongues, on the night where he lost his teeth logan, one of the davidson whaler friends tried to bring the whale in instead of pinning it down for old tom to eat, and old tom was pissed and tried to stop him, and he lost teeth, old tom died from starvation, when old tom died they thought he was 35, but the davidson family swore old tom helped three generations of their family with whaling, old tom was actually in his 90's when he died, they called old toms pod the killers of eden which-
tommy: would make an amazing true crime shark podcast name
buck:
eddie:
tommy:
hen:
buck: *tears up* you get me

the level of parasociality in this fandom amazes me sometimes. i guarantee you lou ferrigno jr is not sitting at home sobbing bc they wrote him off the show.
we as the audience have no idea what goes on behind the scenes so let's not spread rumors pretending we do.
it's ok to be sad but we're not gonna spread rumors about the actors or try to get ppl that are still on the show fired.
i've seen ppl say that oliver is "humiliating the lgbtq community" and that we need to get ryan deported to mexico. that's insane behavior. its ok to be mad but at the end of the day it's just a tv show and it does not deserve that much of your mental energy from being mad. also just don't be racist??? like duh.
again it's ok to be disappointed or sad or whatever but this is actually wild.

Because of something that I saw on my dash. As someone who completely coincidentally stumbled upon 9-1-1 3ish years ago (I watched LS first do NOT come at me I love queerness) and have watched it from season 1 all the way through the fifth one at that time? Yeah. I saw buddie happening. Mostly because I saw Buck and Eddie giving each other the one thing they both want- companionship.
Buck's arc from season 1 till season 7 has been about a man who never got love so he doesn't know what it looks like. Even when he came to 118 the house wasn't family yet. Bobby was closed off, Chim was very insecure with Tatiana and we'd seen Hen open the Eva Pandora's box. In short, everyone already had their own family, issues, past that they were dealing with. Slowly they all came together and became the 118 through the first season. In all of it we could see that Buck has only ever wanted to belong. To have companionship so he isn't left alone once again. Not when he has just started to experience what a family actually feels like.
His insecurities made him act like a dick and that's.....a fact. Yes during his probie years because he hadn't really committed to growing. He wasn't even aware there was a scope of growth because he had a set pattern. Of the reckless-casual sex-acts before he thinks-young man (he still just wanted people to stay or atleast not cut him off, hence the whole bobby giving him a kick in the ass to get it together). With Eddie in season 2 because again, of course he wasn't sure of his place in the 118, it was still very precarious for him so he doubled back and hated how Eddie was seemingly able to make space in the team easily when Buck himself had had to fight for it. Because of all aforementioned reasons. So he acted out. Because he thought it was him vs Eddie. But the moment he understood it was actually going to be him AND Eddie, that man folded like wet paper. He got companionship. He let his ego go because it was never about that. It was about feeling he has to fight for his place in the family and so he let his guards down the moment he realised that this competent af kinda closed af man was ready to reach out to him first, who had given him acceptance and saw his good side on his own without Buck having through walk through fire for it.
And Eddie? He was a single father with a kid with CP, had just moved into a new place because his parents were suffocating and ableist and who was running, just like always. Found this man who loved kids and despite acting out and being less mature was so ready to just. Try and make it a little better for him. To drive him to the school after a 7.1 earthquake. Both him and Shannon unfortunately never had anyone else to even just be present while parenting. Both of them have been alone for so long and Shannon ran away too and then it was his turn to take care of his kid all alone. And he was, but not for long.
Because Buck was there. To help him out with Christopher and all the red tape bullshit and just someone who loves to fix things or make it better for others was there lending a hand to Eddie without any suffocating or scary implications/expectations. Buck was just there for him. Buck also gave Eddie the easy acceptance he's never gotten from anyone else his whole life.
So yeah. As someone who has watched since season 1 and saw Buck's (and everyone else's) growth and development arcs, buddie makes a lot of sense. All they've ever wanted was companionship and acceptance and they found it in each other, quite seamlessly if I do say so myself.
And yeah I don't conform to the romantic love is completely different from platonic love bullshit because it isn't for me. So it's not even about that. It's about Buck and Eddie just finding it so easy to love each other and be there for each other. And continuing to build and maintain that relationship together. They understood each other and forgave each other and were just always present. They didn't let the other feel lonely if they could help it. It's about companionship. And Buck and Eddie constantly giving the other the feeling of belonging. So yeah.

Bro wtf is going on in the last two eps. Diaz family is in the hospital with Buck (and he'll be there with Eddie in their uniform too so a separate occasion), Hen and Chim will be there as visitors but we don't know if it's related, Eddie will continue to blow up his life and apparently get to a point that makes him feel like there's no one he can't count on in S8 including Buck who'd never leave him alone, there'll also be a scene of him in his casual clothes in the fire station while Buck and Bobby are in their uniforms, something will burn down possibly with Bobby in it, there'll be a (likely) Buck x Eddie scene in the locker room, we haven't even had the medal ceremony they spoiled like weeks ago yet (and iirc Marisol was there so it's probably before Buck meets Kim which is also happening), and apparently the fucking plague is around too for some reason. Plus I'm pretty sure we still have a Madney x Henren scene left. How the fuck is all of that going to happen in two episodes.

Just finishing up Season 5 of my 9-1-1 watch through and I, personally, am SHOCKED that Lucy and Ravi being besties isn't more of a thing (both in the show and in fanon). Like, I know they've only had about two and a half scenes together but I can just tell they spend all their free time at the firehouse bitching about the main five. I need 10,000 hours worth of edits about them right now. I don't even want them to be romantic or anything, I just need these two pretty best friends to have more scenes together absolutely dragging the rest of the 118.

I don’t want Buck & Eddie to get together only because so many Buddies are complete assholes who go on and on about representation but don’t say word one about the LGBTQ rep already on the show.

i’m saying this now because i can. 7x04 (100tg ep) should NOT be focused around buck! he is focused around to much in the show. this episode should be focused around EVERYONE equally.

Ok to vent a little bit now that I’m past the Hen and Chimney Begins episodes. Guys oh my god.
Guys! You can’t downplay racism and/or sexism because your favourite character who gets redeemed later on is the one doing the racism and/or sexism. Like that’s dangerous! I was lucky enough to already have heard about some of the stuff that happens in those Begins episodes so I knew to prepare myself for it, but if I had just trusted what some of the BuckTommy blogs on here were saying, I’d be thinking that the worst thing that happens is some ambiguous comments and not blatant triggering racism/misogyny. Like I related to a lot of the stuff Hen and Chimney went through and I’m lucky enough to follow poc and other honest 911 fans on other websites/apps who didn’t downplay the stuff that went down, but it would have been so hard to watch if I hadn’t. I don’t mean to be dramatic or whatever, but you can’t love a character so much that you hurt people. It’s like if people were saying that Doug actually never physically hurt Maddie, or if they were saying that Abby’s mom’s experience with Alzheimer’s wasn’t shown much in season 1. Downplaying triggering/emotional things like this is really harmful!
