you know that the term tra (trans rights activist) is derived from mra (men's rights activist), implying that claiming trans people are entitled to have rights is inherently sexist and misogynistic, right? i also saw that you once the term "troon", a portmanteau of trans and loon, derived from lunatic, suggesting that trans people are freaks...

ah, that's totally fair! honestly tra is just SOOOOO much easier to use in posts that are already lengthy. as a tra myself, i always nowadays try to say mainstream tras to denote that it's not all trans activists that think this way, they're not all homophobic & misogynistic.

some radfems are really unhinged in how they use tra though. i always try to have a balance between being critical of mainstream tra/qweer spaces, and being critical of radblr... both have MAJOR issues, both also have wonderful sides to them. in my server we have a tra-nonsense channel as well as a radfem-nonsense channel bc goddess knows some radical feminists are extremely close-minded and have downright bigoted ideas about dysphoric & gnc people, and just completely lack nuance because it's easier for them to embrace black-and-white thinking. even when it harms female/afab folks and male/amab ppl who actually do face misogyny irl post-transition while also being respectful of those born facing misogyny right away. radical feminism was not started in an era where male/amab ppl could usually transition into an actual female experience, being treated as women, facing what women faced - instead, it was what gnc male ppl face, which ofc is often horrible too in ways that we female folks can never truly understand, esp gender conforming cis/bio women. radical feminism currently is very new to modern trans activism, which has changed radically from what it was even just 10 years ago. oldschool trans ppl and radfems had a very different dynamic, and we're all still figuring out this mess. i want bigots & abusers on both sides to be called tf out. i want a middle ground. i want healthy compromises. i want respectful dialogue.

i don't condone the use of tra in that stereotypically transphobic way, and i don't condone the use of the t word in any way whatsoever; i have reblogged posts that unfortunately had really stupid wording, bc it had insights that piqued my interest for my book & youtube. i think recycling conservative ways of seeing gnc ppl is fucked up, immature, and just very cringe and short-sighted. i'm so sorry to trans ppl orbiting radblr who seeing the worst of us; i want y'all to know we're not all like this, and the nuancefems & tirfs of the radblr world are working hard to add nuance to these tough tra-radfem conversations. i know the language you use might feel iffy and used in bad ways by some, but often it's just a matter of "tra" being very useful when we make already lengthy posts abt meaningful issues.

He goes as a hostage to a foreign land at eleven years old in order to maintain uneasy peace between his country and the empire that colonized them (and on that note, his initial language struggle was so good), then he manages to help keep his love interest safe from thousands of kilometers away via peerless potions skills, then he goes and *wins his nation's freedom* via martial might and court negotiations, and then he heals his man and gets him home. Like bulletpoint by bulletpoint I think he might have actually managed to accomplish the most out of the cast by the end. (Qi Ye is a palace intrigue novel btw, so it's amazing that the one character who had zero patience with palace intrigue was the one who accomplished so much lmao.) And all this while being a 20-something borderline-yandere ML obsessed with his first love. What a man. What a legend. Not to mention his epic healer skills were the reason Zhou Zishu survives Faraway Wanderers. Wenzhou get their happy ending because of him! Also, he hand-raised the most lovable animal sidekick of all time (sable!!!!!) before said sable defected to his husband. Vote for Wu Xi to make sable happy.

hey! do you have any writing tips for beginners? :)

hi! tbh i’m not an expert and i’m sure there a lot of more ppl who can talk to you abt technical stuff but this is from my experience and what i would’ve liked to know when i started writing fic.

for starters, write abt what you like, don’t feel like just bc idk enemies to lovers is a popular trope you have to write it as well. try to choose something you’re comfortable with, and maybe as you get more experience, you’ll get to write things that are a new territory for you.

this has worked for me before but i know not all ppl do it: make an outline. just write the things you want to happen in your story. i usually make a checklist at the beginning of my doc and i go checking each point as i write them.

since english is not my first language, i always search for synonyms or antonyms on thesaurus.

if it helps you concentrate better, choose a time during the day where you can totally focus on your work and turn off your phone if you’re working on a computer (only keep the doc tab open and maybe the websites where you do your research). if you’re using your phone to write, set it on dnd. maybe set a time goal, like working for thirty minutes straight.

also, when i don’t find the word i’m thinking of, i usually leave a blank but continue writing before i forget the idea, don’t let that one word to stop your flow.

this is a suggestion even if you’re not a beginner: find a beta. it’s always better when there’s two (or more) ppl reading over your story, especially bc you’ve always reading your words and don’t see if there’s mistakes or something like that.

lastly, this post abt writing dialogues is so helpful. if you’re looking for more technical tips on writing (and on editing), here’s a tag full of helpful material.

I recently made a new main blog to post some... "personal content" (winkwink) and I think the efforts in telling them what we actually want is genuinely paying off, because I just got this email.

The language was accessible and easy to understand and they explained shorthand when necessary.

They also explained how curating your blog works and showed how to follow tags with images, on both desktop and mobile.

At the end, they even suggested blogs to follow to kick off one's experiemce on tumblr.

@staff I may be a seasoned user who just made a silly new blog to share stuff I want ppl to enjoy, but you did a really good job with this.

This is going to be very effective in helping new users get aclamated to the features we know and love. Genuinely thank you.

If you want to keep seeing Tumblr listen to us and implement changes we want to see, consider helping to support them via the tumblr shop so they don't have to rely on ad revenue to do everything.

This post makes a very good point on why, and how, paying for the silly capitlaism things is actually going to prevent them from becoming like every other social media website around.

whew… i need a minute. you don’t understand this is my boy. he’s just ugh. i love him so much. and this one is long, and if you don’t think xiao can be hot, i don’t wanna talk about it.

so anyways here we go. xiao is very quiet, keeps to himself, doesn’t want to get involved with others, we know this much. however when you push your way into his life, he can’t quite understand why he hasn’t pushed you back out of it.

like, he’s never done this before, with anyone. just letting them be in his life i mean. after a whole week of spending time with you and studying, he starts question what this is, and goes to the only person he trusts with these kinds of questions.

as the words pass zhongli’s lips, xiao feels some kind of epiphany strike him like lightning. he… likes someone?

so basically he starts being a bit more aware of his feelings, but he’s new to this, he has no clue what romance is even about.

and that is why he is absolutely oblivious to your HUGE crush on him. like for real how could you NOT have a crush on him? xiao was insanely hot.

he was smart and always helped you when you were struggling with subjects he’d already mastered. you two would find a comfy little place to study and sit together, he’d do that thing where he leans into your space—not to make you uncomfortable but to look at what you’re looking at so he can help. also xiao wears glasses when he studies, you can’t tell me otherwise (he thinks it makes him look a bit closer to zhongli, but you didn’t hear that from me).

he also works out, because of course he does. what he lacks in height, he makes up for in his very nice body. he’s not beefy or crazy defined but it’s just the right amount to have you ogling. his arms are nicely trimmed—on top of the hot sleeve he has on his right arm, the details are so nice—he has a very nice set of abs as well that you always happen to catch a glimpse of if he stretches or reaches under his shirt to scratch. Literally you have to remember not to drool cause yeah, that’d look stupid.

his profile is also gorgeous, you would know, since you sit next to him so much. when he isn’t paying attention to you, you’ll dare to glance to the side and look at him. his features are so sharp but so nice. his amber cat eyes, your eyes go down to the slant of his nose and down to his lips. your brain is constantly thinking of what it would be like to kiss him. if he ever catches you looking, he’ll ask if you need help with something, and that you can simply tell him instead of fidgeting.

xiao, boy, this is not something we just talk about. i mean it could be… but no.

xiao likes cats. yes he does. in fact he’s that person who keeps a bag of cat treats in his backpack so if he sees a stray he’ll offer them some. all cats trust him. it’s crazy, even cats who are known to be a bit more feisty or scratch and bite, yep those warm up to him too.

you honestly haven’t seen xiao as happy as when he’s with a cat. he actually smiles openly and once, a cat climbed into his lap and stood up to basically hug him. you know what he did? he chuckled. it was the first time you’d heard xiao laugh. at all. were you getting jealous of a cat? no, not really. you just want him to smile at you like that. okay so maybe you were a bit jealous and it felt silly.

one quick side note back to when xiao studies, he keeps the pencil tucked behind his ear and his face resting in his palm as he looks over the homework. you’ve been watching him little by little as you study together and trust me, it’s really fucking hot. he also pokes his tongue out to wet his lips and sweet lord can he not?!

honestly it’s hard not to just lose your fucking mind over him, he’s just so perfect, and really hot.

here’s a tiny list of other hot things xiao does

opens the door for you when you walk to the same class. he’s just a gentleman like that, he also stops any doors from hitting you, basically if like someone was walking in front of you and just opened the door but left it to close on its own. he’ll see it and stop it so you can walk through. you weren’t looking once as you were talking to him and a door was going to hit you square in the face, he slammed his hand to it and it made you jump. you looked up and he looked at you and said “watch where you’re going.” in his deep voice.

speaking of xiao’s voice, when you’re in big crowds he holds your hand or puts a hand to the small of your back to guide you. this is pretty soft at first glance; but also his hands are warm and when he wants to tell you what direction to go as you maneuver through the crowd, he leans in close, and whispers in your ear in that voice of his.

in fact! xiao prefers to keep your conversations from any nosy ears, so he often whispers to you a lot…… your legs are ready to give out and you wanna melt into his arms because jesus his voice is so fucking smooth

xiao likes to play with your fingers when there’s nothing to do. he’ll run his fingers along your own, he’ll trace the lines of your palms, his hands are so soft and it leaves your hands tingling when he lets them go.

he only eats homemade food made by you or himself. other than that he eats takeout, he does not trust others homemade cooking since he got caught in a horrible cooking mishap with xiangling. your food though? he loves that shit so much, he tries to stay composed but he legit wolfs down the food you make him and he never forgets to compliment you.

you once made cupcakes and had xiao be the taste tester, when he ate one his eyes literally sparkled and him liking your cooking just makes your heart swell, you’d honestly make him food every single day if he’d let you.

as you ate your own cupcake you got some chocolate icing on your hand and you were so focused on eating you hadn’t noticed yet. xiao mentioned it but you said you’d get it after eating because damn you made really good cupcakes this time around. the icing was bothering xiao and in a very random fit of boldness, he grabbed your wrist, much to your shock and he brought it to his lips.

yep. YEP.

he then decided he’d lick the small spot of icing off your wrist and you think your brain just broke after that.

he looked at you with his sharp gaze, eyes hooded, your wrist still in his hand; and there was this moment of silence before he dropped your wrist and got up out of his chair saying he wanted another cupcake.

you were left there, holding your wrist, eyes wide and heart pounding because he just did that.

so all in all. xiao hot. xiao very hot.

albedo

this boy is so filled with sarcasm. he teases you a lot but in truth he’s insanely soft for you. you’re soft for him too.

in the beginning though, you initially didn’t like albedo because you thought he was just a stuck-up, know-it-all. it wasn’t until you were paired for a project that you saw the real him.

albedo would get serious and ask for your opinions on what to do for your project, he always valued your opinions and never once made you feel like your thoughts were inferior or not as good simply because he was smarter or some shit.

he smiled when you’d make offers or suggestions, and he’d consider them. some he’d accept and some he’d politely decline, explaining why it wouldn’t help as much. you thoroughly enjoyed being his partner for this project. needless to say you got an easy A+ with albedo and you working together.

when you got your A+ something you just screamed to go and tell him. normally you’d be like “what?? why??” because you barely knew him, you have never spoken to him before this project. you’d only made tiny assumptions based on seeing him and how he interacted with others.

something just told you to go and tell him though. when you found him, he was in the quad of school doing something. when he turned to look at you as he heard you calling his name, his eyes went a bit wide and he shut the book he had opened.

when you told him about your grade, he of course knew because you both got the grade, but you just wanted to thank him and tell him how happy you were. he mirrored your smile and told you he was happy to work with you.

something about his smile made you stop your excitement, it was so gentle, so serene, had he always been this beautiful?

unknowingly between you two, you’d been so used to spending time together through being project partners, you kept spending time together at lunch breaks.

you’d still study together, and albedo would even help you with any subjects you felt were difficult. you supposed after seeing him in action this long, you could admit that he really was a genius. he made everything seem so easy, and easy to understand as well.

albedo is actually really hot and you’re a fool for realizing that so late.

his hair is so fluffy and messy that it escapes the half ponytail he has it in a lot. so with a quick sigh and click of his teeth he pulls the whole tie off and his hair falls down. you cannot help but stare as he grabs his hair and pulls it back up. oh by the way, he puts the hair tie in his mouth while he does this—just drawing unnecessary attention to his lips.

he’s totally oblivious to all your staring though, so yeah he’s a fool too. oh and he also does that cool trick of flipping his pen through his fingers. it’s so hot and he twirls his pen too, he does it all without even looking and why does it have to be so hot?!

after a while of knowing each other, albedo opens up and he starts teasing you more. his jokes are full of sarcasm and his teasing can be a bit condescending at times; but never enough to hurt your feelings. you know him by now and so you just roll your eyes and keep it moving.

you learn that albedo is artistic, and that just adds to his hotness because holy fuck his art is amazing! it took you a minute to persuade him to show you his art. he was shy and kept denying you access to his sketchbook. finally you wore him down and he said he’d show you some pages.

you didn’t get to hold it, simply leaning against albedo’s shoulder, but what you saw was breathtaking. “you truly have a gift!” you praised, and you missed the furious pink his ears had begun to turn.

when he stopped before getting to a certain page, you had to admit you were curious; but this was albedo’s sketchbook after all and if he wanted some things to be private that was obviously his right.

however it was his fault that on a random day he’d dozed off under a tree in the quad with his sketchbook open on his lap. you were going to kneel down and wake him, but then you saw what he’d been drawing accidentally.

it was you.

your cheeks were on fire and you couldn’t believe that he’d drawn you so perfectly, the details were to a tee and you wanted to kiss albedo right then and there.

kazuha is a bit like albedo in the sense that he likes to tease, but his intro with you is a lot nicer.

kazuha takes creative writing, i just know he does. if someone asked me what classes he takes it is a lot of history, literature and creative writing. he likes writing poems as well.

a lot of people often have heart eyes for kazuha and for good reason. he’s hot.

kazuha’s aloofness kinda gives him a certain aura that just seems to have people drawn to him. while he seems like the elegant prince-like figure, he’s actually a bit careless at times. you wouldn’t know it at first glance though. you only know this because he’s your friend.

kazuha is often sleepy and likes to take frequent naps, as well as ask you to cook for him/order takeout for him. he may seem spacy but trust me he’s anything but, he’s well aware of things, he knows full well he could make his own food but something about getting his food from you makes it better, or so he says.

still you can understand why people are thirsting, because you do sometimes thirst for him too.

kazuha is athletic, he does some kind of sport. i couldn't decide between soccer, tennis or gymnastics to be honest so i’ll let you imagine what you want between those options. either way when you see him in his outfit for whatever sport he’s doing you kinda just…..don’t compute because wow he looks really hot.

when he wins tournaments he immediately seeks you out, and you have prep for the sweaty bear hug he gives you, no matter how much you protest he will not. let. go.

he’s very cocky sometimes but your curt words bring him down to earth, and he just says “can’t you let me enjoy my victory?” with a pout as he then glomps onto you.

speaking of, kazuha is very much into skinship, to the point you think “this can’t be something just friends do right?”

he loves wrapping you up in his arms from behind, chin on your shoulder, and when he talks, his breath warms your neck. it makes you shiver and you know he knows what he’s doing. also just throwing his arms over your shoulders and you having to walk with a kazuha blob on your back.

he enjoys flustering you and that’s why he likes to kiss the back of your hand. when you feel his lips on your knuckles, the way they linger, his smirk when he looks up at your burning cheeks. yeah you hate him for how he exploits your weaknesses.

he also likes to give you butterfly kisses on the cheek, it’s probably the softest form of skinship he gives you and he only does it when he’s sleepy, which means there’s barely any teasing behind it.

kazuha when tired is a lot more…. honest. this isn’t “hot” necessarily but it’s because of what he does when he’s tired.

he likes to walk around shirtless at home when he’s tired. he has less of a filter on his words, which means when he’s angry, he’s angry and when he’s in the mood to tell you how much he appreciates you, it’s maxed out. it’s like being an overly chatty drunk, only there’s not alcohol and he’s just tired from multiple practices and study sessions.

once you came to check on him because you knew it was a cram day for kazuha and when you came in, kazuha had his hair down, it looked soft and messy and his hooded eyes told you he was very sleepy. he put his hand under his shirt and you got a quick glimpse of his abs which made you shoot your eyes to the ceiling. when kazuha saw the bag of takeout in your hand he smiled and pulled you in by your wrist, next thing you knew you were in kazuha’s arms.

you were going to call his name but before you could kazuha had nuzzled into your neck, and suddenly, you gasped as you felt his lips on your neck. a very light kiss, his breath fanning your neck, and he lifts his lips to your ear to whisper.

“i’m so lucky i have you.”

you’re sure you stopped working for a bit, and kazuha? he’s so tired he doesn’t even understand anything other than he needs food and that he’s almost done cramming. you could hear your heart in your ears and you wanted to both hug and punch kazuha for throwing your emotions around like this.

THIS BOY!! he is the absolute best. you think that, his friends think that, hell, everyone thinks that.

for starters, he is incredibly helpful. if it’s in his ability, he will help. lost something? he will help you find it. help with studies? he has, the best memory, he memorizes everything so well, he’ll gladly help anyone, which is why he became a tutor. he’s the type that would probably offer you a hug even if he doesn’t know you. he’s just that sweet.

he actually has a bit of a reputation for being the “nice guy”. so you actually have heard of gorou before, your friend sucrose talked about him and how he helped her when all the books she was carrying fell over. you’re also friends with a girl in the student council named kokomi and she’s gorou’s best friend, she’s told you how nice he is and that you should meet him at some point.

honestly with how sociable and kind he is, you’re surprised you haven’t met him yet.

when you do meet gorou, it’s not how you expected to at all.

you were simply walking to another building for class when all of a sudden you heard a boy asking for help, you naturally wanted to know if the boy was okay, but before you could ask he ran to you, ears down and he hides behind you. you see he was talking with a beautiful woman with pink hair, and he tells you “please help. she won’t leave me alone about getting my tail groomed.” you were beyond confused but after a little it of negotiating, the woman, who you now knew was named yae, left gorou to you.

“i owe you one! i’m gorou!”

after that, you saw a lot more of gorou.

you became fast friends with him. he kept saying he wanted to pay you back for the save with yae, you insisted it was fine but he insisted a lot harder. in order to pay you back he helped with your studies when he could and after a while he started making you lunches for school. gorou was indeed very helpful and kind, but it was also him being so stubborn about helping.

from then on, whenever he would be approached by yae, he would say he had to meet up with you. thankfully yae wouldn’t question it and soon you’d find gorou randomly running to you, or clinging to your back.

after a while gorou starts to just tell you yae was looking for him, so he’s with you now. in reality though he’s just making reasons to spend time with you. gorou is incredibly innocent with his small crush on you, but with that, also comes his horrid obliviousness to your own crush that starts to bloom. he may not realize it, but he’s incredibly hot when he wants to be.

gorou runs a lot so when you see him out for a jog, he’s sweaty and his hair is a bit wet but when he runs his hand through it, yeah it’s hot. his nicely defined arms are out on display too, the smile he gives you when he spots you is priceless and you'd freakin do anything so he would smile at you like that.

gorou once invited you to work out with him and you immediately regretted it. you barely did any exercise yourself because you were so distracted watching gorou work out. he was just hot, lifting weights or running or even just stretching. you managed to be slick though and act like you were working out anytime he looked over at you. you have politely declined his invites to the gym since and being the (oblivious) angel he is, he never questioned you about it. he just figured you may wanna work out alone which he respects.

you think gorou doesn’t notice this but he seems to have somewhat of an oral fixation. he is always poking his tongue out of his mouth, when he’s focusing intently, or he’ll do it a lot just to wet his lips and it feels fucking impossible to not stare. because dang you can only daydream about how good of a kisser he must be.

gorou also has really nice hands. like it’s super attractive, he can do cute things like twirl pens or spin balls, but they’re also insanely soft and well manicured. sometimes gorou will hold your hand when you walk and he’ll pat your head, he just makes your heart do things.

oh i didn’t mention yet but gorou ADORES skinship. like he craves it all the time, to be touching or holding some part of you. this is just a list of what he likes:

hugs where you’re taller, if you aren’t taller than him already, then these hugs mean like an artificial height difference on the stairs, or he’s pulled you into his lap and now he can look up at you. (gorou pls….) he likes this because he wants you to play with his hair and his ears, they twitch when you touch them at first but then he nearly purrs as you card through his hair and stroke his ears. he also likes this because he can lay his head on your chest with his eyes closed.

gorou loves cheek nuzzles, he does it to annoy you more often than not, but if you decide to do it back, he melts.

if you’re in a relationship then he loves giving you neck kisses, he also loves receiving them, his neck is pretty sensitive but when you give him kisses there he blushes and his ears go all willy-nilly and shake around. he can never hide how he feels because of his ears and tail.

all in all, gorou is just a sweet soft boy, but he’s got his things that make him hot too.

how do people use ao3? i can never figure it out😭

It can definitely be confusing!! Luckily I’ve been on it for a super long time, so hopefully I’ll be able to explain well 😅

ok so first you want to go to the website, either by typing ao3 into the search bar and clicking on the website itself or typing archiveofourown.org which will take you directly there.

next your going to search up what type of fics you want! If it’s a pairing I would recommend character a/character b, that usually yields the most results. But if you don’t want a pairing you can also try just looking up a specific character and seeing what pops up! Looking at the picture, I looked up Fred Weasley/Reader, and if I wanted fics specific towards that pairing I would click on the little underlined tag in one of the fics (as I have highlighted)

alright, everything up until this point has been pretty easy, and where most ppl get confused is the filters part. Click on the little button that says Filters (as highlighted) and then you should see this menu pop up on the side of the screen:

ok let’s go down the list of the filters, starting with the little bar that says date updated. When you click on it, more options will appear to choose (as seen in the video below). Mainly this will prioritize what fics will show up on the first page that you see. Most of the options will show you the most popular fics based on that category, for example if you click on ‘Hits’ the fics will show up in order of most to least hits per fic. Date Posted and Date Updated will show you the most recent fics posted/updated

ok next is the Include tab. As it implies, you can go into here and filter in things that you definitely want your filter to have! These inclusions will take place in the form of tags, so be careful with how much you want to include. Some authors don’t tag a whole lot, and the way the filtering system works if it doesn’t have that tag it won’t show you the fic (even though it might have what you want). My suggestion would be, if it’s your first time look through the drop down options and see what might interest you! Of course it is not necessary to pick anything if you don’t want, and if there is something that you know you want you can always type it in in the ‘other tags to include’ bar

alright onto the Exclude tab. As you can see, the layout is exactly the same as the Include tab. This will filter out anything you do not want included in your fics. Sometimes that can mean specific character pairings you don’t want to see, if you want to keep to a specific fandom, etc. Remember, there is no shame in filtering stuff out that you don’t want!!

we’re close to the end!! now for the More Options tab. This is similar to including things that you want, but it’s more for the type of fics you want to see.

Sometimes authors will write for multiple fandoms, either doing a full on crossover (for example: the Harry Potter characters in the world of Avengers), or they will write multiple chapter fics that include a oneshot for Harry Potter and a oneshot for the Avengers. Choose the option you would like, and if you don’t like It you can always go back and choose not to filter it!

A lot of times authors will post unfinished fics, and will update as time goes on. If you want to read only finished fics, then click the Completed Works only option. If you only want to see works in progress, click the Works in Progress only option!

For the word count you can filter how short/long you want your fics to be, and for the date updated if you want to only read recent or old fics you can filter that too!

Now we are finally at the end! I personally have never used the Search within results bar, so chances are you won’t either. But if you do want to know then a simple Google search will probably give you the answer. The language bar will filter in specific languages, for example if you want to read fics only in Spanish, you can do that

The last step is to click Sort and Filter, and walla! All fics tailored to your wants at your disposal. If you find you want to change something you can always click the back button to go to the previous page, or start a new tab completely.

Ok now that that’s all done, to read a fic simply click on the title! (Highlighted above)

I think that’s it. If anyone has any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask! So many people discard ao3 because it can be too much to handle, but once you get the hang of it, the site is a godsend 😅

Since I stalk the Wen Ruohan tag on here as well as ao3 and Twitter (I confess I'm a vilain f*cker I can't resist that evil dilf lol) I noticed lately some strange trends

The 1st one is the rise of the WRH/YZY fics, because people truly believe the reason YZY's marriage was so miserable and shitty was because of JFM somehow and not her toxic abusive ass and that YZY would be able to form a healthier happier relationship with anyone else especially someone like WRH who can and will have her head rolling down the stairs of his Palace if she tried to treat him half as bad as she did JFM. If YZY had married anyone else I doubt she would last a year of marriage, it's no surprise she picked JFM because he was the most likely to put up with her sh*t without retaliation. Another similar trend I noticed is the JC/WRH fics which is just ewww but it's even more weird when they make WRH the "good" father figure for JC because JFM is just sooo abusive and neglectful to poor baby grape that the tyrant who gave us Wen Chao is somehow a better father than him

Idk I feel my man JFM gets more shit than he deserves from this Fandom. Like once I saw a post of someone saying that if they could kill 3 characters in mdzs to make everyone's lives better it would be: WRH, JGS, JFM. I get the 1st two but what did JFM do to be on the same level as them? It's just strange to me how so many people hate JFM only because he saved an orphan from the streets and gave him a home and maybe sometimes praised him for doing good and wasn't madly in love with the woman who forced him to marry her and then treated him like shit all the time

I've seen the "Wen Ruohan would be a better father to sad grape bby jiang cheng >:-/ than evil JFM" discourse and I think it's absolutely hilarious. On one hand JFM gently corrects jc about not letting people die and jc stans are like "OMG abuSE!", even though JFM is your average reserved dad, and YZY is clearly the one who pours all that poison in jc's ear about his father's love being lacking. But yeah let's look at Wen Ruohan:

YES! Wen Ruohan who loved the sight of blood, whose love language was instruments of torture, and whose playground was a TORTURE PALACE would really be a soft fuzzy father to whiny, needy jc w his uninspiring cultivation. He'd probably carry him in his arms around the torture palace and they'd laugh over all the torture instruments- just father son things. WRH would definitely let YZY's Clan pressure him into marrying her and then permit YZY to scream at him in front of servants and treat Wen Clan like she's better than it. He definitely wouldn't raze Meishan Yu to the ground. On the other hand are jc stans saying that Wen Ruohan, an unhinged, abusive, power obsessed maniac, who doesn't give af about the common ppl, with a hard on for torture is more suited to jiang cheng's temperament and world views? because actually they might have stumbled onto something.

whilst i dislike the 'amendment' of mdzs canon by people who think they're better morally than mxtx, a lot of fanart these days is to some extent influenced by cql, and it doesn't seem ooc at all to make that lwj somewhat shorter than wwx and not at all to make him shy or blushy? idk, i'm not criticising your dislikes or anything, just suggesting that some ppl who make shy, smol lwj art aren't really making a moral judgment on mdzs.

I mean that's why the language of the post underlines that I am aware that it is very petty of me and that I added a tag saying that I am as well aware that I can't know for sure why people intentionally make lwj smaller in some fanart. There can be other reasons, but after have been subjected to so much discourse about their height I can't help having my brain go there first and just go benafflecksmoking.jpeg

As well I don't think using c/ql as an explanation in this case works because the production made a conscious effort to make wyb seem taller than xz, even though he isn't. I'm not sure I would phrase it as 'making a moral judgment', I don't think it is this grand, but I do think that it is interesting to interrogate how people are changing canonical character design (both in mdzs and c/ql) and perhaps what this reveals. For instance there are fandoms where it seems relatively common to draw canonically thin characters as fat, whereas I don't think I've ever seen mdzs-c/ql fanart that does that (there might be though, just haven't seen them personally!). The reason can't just be 'because this fandom is fatphobic duh' but it does bring into question why certain patterns of deviation from canon character design crop up, and I don't think in this fandom that it can be easily disentangled from discourses about bl-danmei and about the novel vs c/ql.

Based on the novel characterisation, I do believe it is ooc to make lwj shy and, to a degree, blushy (he does blush but only his ears, and it's not really shyness that does it). As well, I don't think lwj's height has any relation to his personality but it is a canon character design trait--it's not so much 'out of character' as it is a deviation his canon appearance, like giving him light brown hair or dark eyes or darker skin would be. Again, my point is not so much that people need to revere canon and never change anything about it, but questioning why certain things (making lwj smaller and less buff) seem to crop up and others simply do not? And why do certain traits that are kind ooc (blushy and shy) seem to appear more often when those divergence from canon character design are made? Can we believe that it has nothing to do with the discussions going in the fandom?

Ok, spoiler warning for ppl who haven’t played – do I still need to do this? Eh ok, (I tag FF7R spoilers as final fantasy 7 remake spoilers) and it’s gonna be middling.

Also, this is one person’s interpretation of the scene, so if you disagree that’s cool and we’ll agree to disagree.

This line. Eugh. I've seen so much damn romantic coding thrown at it I'm sick to my back teeth how people ignore literally every other relationship Cloud has with people.

This is not about Aerith.

This is about Barret.

Remember? This is what happened like five minutes prior to this line. Cloud literally lost his friend. Another one. And right after he saw a simulation of that same friend dead after being forced to watch the girl he loves get killed. Again. Because he thought Tifa died in Nibelheim and that grief is still in him.

In the last couple of weeks, to Cloud, he's lost his mom, his home, Tifa and Zack. In the last day he's lost Jessie, Biggs, his new home and now Barret.

This is his goddamn expression at the time. He's frozen in place, breathing hard. He is trying so fucking hard not to cry. He's been in a very bad place emotionally through this whole bit in the Shinra building. He cried when the grunts reminded him about Zack dying. He was so terrified of Hojo he hid behind Barret and didn't say a single word until it wasn't even possible to carry out that bravado filled threat.

Cloud doesn't want to lose his friends. Every one of them is precious to him. He cherishes them all, or did we think that AC line was more dumb ship talk?

The second Barret gasps, Cloud slid to a stop. He looks back and we don't get to see his expression here or in the rest of the cut scene. It focuses on Tifa's relief, then gameplay resumes. Because I'd bet good money Cloud looks far too emotional that Barret's OK, and we're not supposed to see this much of real Cloud behind the mask.

So back to the point this makes the whole damn thing about Barret.

Cloud stops Barret from going after Rufus and comes up with a very logical reason why. The same thing he's been reminding Barret of whenever he got too over enthusiastic about busting Shinra heads. Several times Cloud says, "Stay on mission/remember our goal". It's not "oh we must save the damsel", it's mission time.

Cloud appeals to the leader in Barret. You know, the one where he literally leads a cell of Avalanche, makes sure all his people get home? That's what Cloud is referencing. It's Barret's desire to do the job and make sure everyone goes home.

Aerith is the job.

Now, if yall actually pay attention to Cloud's face like I do then you'd have noticed his eyes look suspiciously shiny during this bit. He can't quite hide that he was as broken up by Barret dying as the others were.

He knows Barret's an all guns blazing kind of guy. I mean Cloud literally jokes about "Why did we bring you along?" before they go into the building because Barret's suggestion is a full frontal assault. Then if you take the stairs you get him saying he'd choose a last stand over this.

Cloud is protecting Barret by making him leave. Because he doesn't want to lose his friend again.

And Barret understands this immediately because he looks cut up behind those sunglasses. It's a "you care about me, you lil jackass?" look and accompanies his putting his hand to the back of his head, which is a masculine gesture to convey embarrassment.

Guys (mostly) touch the back of the head or neck when they feel embarrassed or vulnerable because it's an instinct from hunter/gatherer days when they had to watch out for predators going for the back of the neck. In modern times it's become masculine body language to show emotional vulnerability.

In conclusion

This whole bit has very little to do with Aerith. She's an excuse Cloud used to save Barret. His friend. The one who just came back from the dead.

Hollow, ykno, that thing yall also think is romantically coded, speaks of if Cloud had a second chance what he'd do differently. It's not just about girls. It's about everyone he loves. Cloud loves so many people and can't bear losing them.

Ofc he'd do everything to keep them safe.

What expectations do you hold towards your plotting partner:  Ideas and somewhat more enthusiasm than me. And honestly, some people really intimidate me because I am too hard on myself, so giving a bit of a pat on the back makes me relax more. When you notice the plotting is rather one-sided, what do you do?:  Mostly when I am doing the talk or coming with ideas or looking generally more interested. It takes effort for me to get on things and actually do stuff but if it’s not the other way around I end up thinking they got bored of me. I am one hell of insecure person. As for what I do, if after many tries of trying to reach another person and end up feeling rejected or ignored, then ... I stop. What’s the point of insisting if the other person would just be awkward or not spare you a word?

How do you usually plot with others, do you give input or leave most work towards your partner?:  well, I usually ask first what the other thinks or have in mind, if nothing, I either suggest or start brainstorming with the other person. I know some who have dealt with me at first I seem like a dettached person but not having ideas really makes me feel like I have not much right to talk. I want to give yet without impossing or letting it twist my arm. I know for a fact nora’s lore really doesn’t help shit for most things. 

When a partner drops the thread, do you wish to know?:   YES / NO / DEPENDS. - And why?: if the thread was meaningful and we were really into it , then I would ask but as for the most, I don’t really bother with it. Sometimes people just lose muse, and even if I was enjoying it, I don’t have the right  to force someone or ask why they stopped. thread dropping is normal, i guess.  - What should your partner do when dropping a thread?:  whatever they want. telling me or not is up to them, I don’t really mind. RP is not something SUPER serious like it should be just perfect. I try to convice myself of this a lot.

Is communication in the rpc important to you?   YES / NO. - And why?:  if I do not have some idea of who am i rping with and what they have in mind, then it’s nearly impossible. being purely IC is really uncomfortable and could lead to a lot of misundertandings. - Are you okay with absolute honesty, even if it may means hearing something negative about you and/or portrayal?:  yeah. mostly yeah -- I mean, I will feel bad, I do have feelings, but I will take it with water. - Do you think you can handle such situation in a mature way?  YES ( but I will feel bad anyways ) / NO.

Why do you rp again, is there a goal?:  connect with others, ramble a lot about characters, have fun. I’ve been rping since i was 12 ( back then it was not big deal your age apparently ) and having to connect with other people by making these plots and stories and just having a fun time is something that brings me joy. There’s so much that can be done. And exploring my muses with other muses influences is really helpful to fill the holes left due indecisiveness.

Wishlist, be it plots or scenarios:  I wish people joined my lore more. Having muses that could be in the same story department as Nora in particular, would be hella and inspire me more. There is so much I have. Explore nora’s power is also something I want but it’s hard -- it’s very invasive and not many would really like it, feeling it’s meta. For now, I don’t really have other muses and Spike has her little crew outside tumblr.

Themes I won’t ever rp / explore:  umm, it’s hard to think in something in particular. But mostly stuff that collides with nora’s story/character. but there is a lot I am willing to explore.

What Type of Starters do you prefer / dislike, can’t work with?: casual starters are my fab. It’s easier to figure out how  to go or stop and think. plotted ones also work. as for what I dislike or cannot work with, things that force my muse to not act how they would? not giving me something solid is hard to handle. 

What type of characters catch your interest the most?:  I really like out of the norm muses, something that you see and say /oh , look at that/. Aesthetically, story wise or personality wise, something that goes out the usual troup most would use. I do have a guilty pleasure for opposite to my muse characters --- something that would really show the contrast with one another.

What type of characters catch your interest the least?:  Very basic ones? or those who try TOO hard to be special. A character that doesn’t fit in the context they are in, esp. in fandoms. HEAVILY divergent characters that just basically turn them into OCs. I know I sound like a bitch but I am the type who respect canon and the actual author behind the character too much. Also those that I don’t know much about? as in, the fandom never managed to catch my interest or smth in that line.

What are your strong aspects as rp partner?:  I know where is the line between fiction and reality. And that what your character does it does not reflect as the person you actually are. I am pretty laid back and I understand people’s views and reasoning. idk. I draw a lot if I am super invested ?

What are your weak aspects as rp partner?: I am super sporadic and can go from being super active to flat out dead for weeks. my mood swings a lot with the amount of attention I get, as horrible as it sounds. I am very anxious as a person for reasons ( not IRL mostly, just bad experience from previous partners ). I promise a lot but do little? honestly I will just bad mouth myself if I keep writing this.

Nora is a mentor type of character, she is here to be a support and help others explore themselves and learn. Also if you are a minor, she will most likely try to get close to help -- one must protect the good sad kids.

Who would not open themselves to other perspective without thinking someone is trying to change them. okay there were definitely water + subtle storm sounds in the beginning of 3.04 along with the usual creaking sounds and?? idk if its just me noticing them for the first time but yeah the penumbra is definitely looking to be a big ship or something

one thing that i have been loving about how the writers approached olala's shapeshifting powers is that her tail (which is mostly the only way we've seen her exercise her powers uptil now) seems to be sentient? or atleast capable of making a noise which olala either understands or imagines as a language. especially given that shes a child its a really cute and fun way to show her interacting + trusting her powers not just as a part of herself but as a companion

the leaves are turning green. she must've escaped the wastes!! also love that in classic olala style her imagination picked up on that detail and is trying to figure what to make of it with her limited knowledge

another thing abt her imagination is the way she's doing the whole "squadron" thing. it seems like she doesn't like being alone, and that could infact be one of the reasons she's so imaginative (apart from the fact that she's. u know. a child)

Public Enemies Translation Revised!

Now that I’ve looked more into the language - as well as it being 5pm & not 5am - I decided to make a new version of this, but with more detail & hopefully a lot more clear!

In this revised ver. I’m going to dissect some words & put more of a literal translation. If you want all of my frustrated comments, go ahead & look at the original! I was sleep deprived & annoyed! I found out no one can pronounce any of the words for shit (even Wulf pronounced stuff wrong actually, which i explain below)

If anyone wants to correct any mistakes I may have made, go ahead! I’m doing this cuz i’m procrastinating really hard right now, so essentially I’m just doing it for fun!

Li estas al meti via amiko ena malliberejo! - He is to put your friend in prison! (or, as i put before, ‘he’s gonna put your friend in prison, bro!’)

*cracks knuckles* k, let’s do this. I just wanna say first, in this scene Wulf pronounces ‘malliberejo’ like ‘mal-liber-eho’. this confused me, as I had dozens of sources that said j is pronounced like an english Y, not H. ‘mal-liber-eyo’.

Li = he | Estas = is | Al = toward, to, unto | Meti = to put/place | Via = your Amiko = friend | Ena = inside | Malliberejo = Prison/Jail

for the sake of anyone attempting to learn Esperanto, I’m gonna explain the big word here - Malliberejo! Once I realized that this word was actually Libere with a prefix & suffix, sentences & words became a lot easier to learn/guess for me (ex: varma = warm, malvarma = cold | amiko = friend, malamiko = enemy | Bovo = Bull/Ox, Bovino = Cow, Bovido = calf).

Mal- = opposite | Libere = free | -ejo = place/location

“Amiki.” - means ‘to be friends’

I’d like to add that when trying to make up/find a word for halfa in Esperanto I found ‘Duonmorta’ which literally means half dead. I’m trying to figure other stuff out atm (like ‘ghostkid/boy’, ‘ghostking’, & ‘I’m going ghost/to become ghostly!’) but i’ll probs put that in a separate post.

the first time you do though, WHEW you’re lucky he didn’t jump you and kiss you right then and there. you’re just friends though, so that’d be hella awkward to explain later. after a while he gets comfortable with hearing his real name fall from your lips, he’d hum in content to himself every time he hears it.

without a doubt he’s the tutor type. he just is. i won’t argue. how else is he gonna make himself some money? he can use his large knowledge-filled brain too.

you met him when you needed help on a particular subject, and lo and behold he tutors a wide variety—to say the least—of topics. so when you arranged a meet up at the library with him, you came early to get prepped, but again, behold, he was already here.

you check your phone and you were almost forty minutes early, you expected to get some of this material in your brain before he came, but nope. how long had he been here?

as you walked up to him, you were graced with one of those serene smiles you’d ever witnessed. his whole aura radiated, gentle, caring, warm.

“you must be _____, i’m zhongli. nice to meet you in person.” he greeted you.

he literally is the best though. he’s calm and patient, he helps you whenever you feel lost or don’t quite get what he’s explaining to you. he goes back and repeats things as much as you need and he’s never annoyed by it. the patience he has is insane, you’re so sure you’re bothering him when you say you still don’t quite get it. instead he lets out a very low chuckle and the bass from it is about to knock you back. he tells you it’s fine and he explains it another way, when it finally clicks you smile and look to see him giving you a proud smile as well. it makes your stomach do a fucking thing.

you’re honestly sad when it comes time to end the session as zhongli says he has three other tutor sessions today. you know you’ll see him again as you paid for more than one session, but some part of you hates that you won’t see him until then. what the heck was this?

you don’t know what compelled you to do this, but you called out to him gently, making him turn with a curious look. so you trot up to him at the library doors and ask him “um would you… maybe like to grab a coffee sometime? i’d really like to talk more… and not just about studies.”

zhongli’s eyes widen, and for a minute you think you screwed up. you hear how it sounds and you wanna backtrack and say it’s not supposed to sound like you’re asking him out. he can see the visible panic on your face as you try to think of a way out and he chuckles again. he knows you don’t mean what you’re worried you meant by it and he pats your head. yes, he fucking pats your head. as quick as you felt his warm hand on your head, it was gone.

“i’d like that very much.”

after that you and zhongli get closer. you both meet up regularly for coffee or a meal, and it’s some of the most pleasant times you can remember. he just has a gift for relieving all your stress and anxieties. something about him is so goddamn calm. he just emanates peace and serenity.

you felt so lucky that you and him became friends. zhongli was the best tutor yes, but he was also the best friend. all the little things he does make you swoon for him even more and you feel ridiculous but at the same time, ecstatic.

he checks in on you regularly, and sends you little tidbits of info via text that probably have nothing to do with anything but they make you smile nonetheless. it was just so very him.

if you’re sick he sends you a ton of texts with tips and pointers on how to handle whatever your ailment is. the wall of texts he sends is definitely his way of showing you he’s worried. he also says he’ll come by with homemade food for you and you insist he doesn’t have to.

he is very attentive and notices when you’re stressing. if you’re studying together—which by the way he tells you to stop paying him for sessions because you’re friends and you wanna melt because he’s soft—he’ll notice your furrowed brows and you chewing your lips as you try to force yourself to focus.

he’ll literally do that thing where his finger move across the shell of your ear, like he’s tucking the hair back but it’s just the movement even if your hair is already tucked or you don’t need or have anything to be tucked. he will do it anyway and the feeling of his finger tracing that same pattern repeatedly soothes your nerves tremendously.

you thank him but he’ll tell you it’s no trouble at all and he’ll give another signature warm smile.

best person ever award goes to this man for real.

if you lived in a dorm he would stop by to visit from time to time. whether it’s to invite you out, or check up on you. and you would get “those looks” from your dorm mates. you swear it’s not like that, and they just have mountains of questions for you when he leaves. like how the fuck did you manage to befriend one of the hottest guys on campus?!

you didn’t think it was big deal, but you should’ve, because if you thought zhongli was kind, and handsome, and smart—and really fucking hot—why wouldn’t the rest of the university? you weren’t the only person he tutored, and he had other friends as well. how in the hell did you not think that zhongli would be massively popular?

you won’t lie, you have a weird possessiveness over zhongli. not the creepy kind where you feel gross and you think of him like an object. it’s more like you don’t wanna share his attention with others sometimes. you just want him all to yourself.

you want him to look only at you, and no one else. you want him to save all those warm smiles and low chuckles for you.

you’ve never felt this way and the small prick of jealousy you feel when you spot zhongli tutoring someone else makes you want to scold yourself.

because zhongli is not yours. he is not something to be owned, of course you know that. he is a person and he shares his kindness with everyone. teachers, students, strangers, you’ve seen it yourself. he has an infinite amount of kindness to give, and it doesn’t make you feel as good as it should, which in turn, makes you a little mad at yourself.

you just can’t help that small part of yourself that wants him to see you as special. see you in a different way that only he gets to see. you want to see him in a way that no one else gets to see too; hear what no one else gets to hear. you want to be special to him. you want him to look at you like no one else matters in the way you do.

that’s when you gasp and realizing just how deeply you were thinking, and when you catch yourself thinking like this, it hits you like a fucking freight train.

BIG. BOY. yeah there’s all the discrepancy about his game model but we’re not gonna talk about that here (fyi he’s still beautiful). we’re just gonna appreciate itto’s himbo vibes and also how hot he is.

anyways beefy itto. so yeah he’s your friend and he’s ginormous. it has its benefits though, mundane things like lifting heavy stuff for you or reaching all the things that are too high for you. he freakin’ towers over you and you never even ask him to help you, he just does.

still the cons to this are… slightly beneficial you suppose. like seeing him shirtless on accident more times than you can count now. the worst part? you never acclimate to it, so you always go into shock when you see his defined abs, his broad shoulders and back, the dips that make up his v line. you’re mentally drooling and trying to not stare. it’s really hard though because fuck he’s hot.

itto knows he’s hot, he’s a self-love king. he doesn’t need people to tell him things he already knows. when he catches you flustered he can’t help but tease, in fact he honestly stops caring about being shirtless when you visit him in hopes of catching your flushed cheeks and your stuttered speech.

the thing you don’t know is that the fact that you even get flustered at all, FLUSTERS HIM! he likes knowing that you think he looks good. he doesn’t really care about what other people think of his body, but to know that you like his body has him over the moon. it makes all the days at the gym and all the sports clubs he joins worth it. you’re probably the only person—other than himself—whose validation has him flying over the moon when it comes to how he looks.

piggyback rides. they happen more often than you think. you’re walking to class together? you sprained your ankle? you’re just feeling down? he kneels down—which somehow still has him looking way too fucking big and tall—and offers you his back. you gently climb on and he grips your legs, ignoring the heat from his palms that you feel on your thighs.

he insists that you hold on tight sometimes, so you wrap your arms around his neck and tuck in (this makes him blush, feeling your warmth so close) and he starts running. it’s wild and a little bumpy but it honestly has you laughing which in turn makes him laugh.

itto. loves. skinship. like I’m not even joking, even if you guys aren’t in a relationship, he wants you close. he melts with you, he’s like a big puppy for you always. his favorite forms of skinship with you are your infamous piggyback rides, having you on his shoulders, picking you up so you can look just a smidge taller than him, and… get this… having you on his lap.

yes, he likes it when you sit on his lap; it wasn’t supposed to be a suggestive thing initially. he would plop you down, your back pressed against his hard chest, and he’d still tower over you like the tall freak he is. he’d nuzzle into your nape, he’d play with your fingers—you paint his nails in this position too and he LOVES it—and sometimes he’ll just wrap his beefy arms around your waste, you love it all. you feel safe in his strong hold, like nothing in the world can put a finger on you.

now here’s where it got a bit risqué. itto was sitting on his bed once, and he asked if you could pull out one of his shirts from his closet for him because yes, again, he was shirtless when you came into his room. this was fine, sort of, you couldn’t help but peak at the dips in shoulders, his collarbones and his thick neck. he was totally unaware this time as he was messing around with his phone. so you took a deep breath and refocused as you opened his closet. his shirts looked like goddamn blankets to you as you pulled one out for him.

this was fine. that is, until you trip on something and itto sees you stumbling so he preps to catch you, but you just stumble forward, a knee on his bed and you come face to face with him. he presses his hands into his bed as he leans back to give you space. however it doesn’t do much as you grabbed his shoulder for support and to not fall on him. your fingers grip his muscles and you try not to melt because itto is this close to you, your fucking breathing the same air, noses almost touching, and neither of you have the guts to move.

“i-i’m sorry..” you whisper. your breath fans his face and it makes his hands shake on the bed. “s’all good..” was his muttered reply.

uh oh. this was bad. because you were imagining things. you had sat in itto’s lap before, plenty of times. but it’s always been facing away from him, never facing him. part of you couldn’t stop imagining if you just sat down, and maybe he’d grip your thighs, or press one of his huge hands to the small of your back and keep you close. maybe he’d kiss you.

WAIT! you were getting carried away, you tried to shoot those thoughts into the stratosphere but he was so close and god he was beautiful. honestly you understood why other people were jealous of you because you were so close with him. who wouldn’t be jealous of someone who got to spend time with such a fucking specimen? still you didn’t hang out with itto just for his good looks. he was funny, kind, caring and an overall lovable idiot. he was your idiot.

this was new territory though, it was both scary and thrilling.

itto felt the exact same way as you though, he wanted to pull the bends of your knees and have you plop right down on his lap. he wanted to leave little marks on your neck, and hear you hum at the feeling. he wanted you to push your fingers into his hair and tug.

yeah this was new. it’s not as if he didn’t think about the possibilities from time to time. you were adorable and kind, he's had times where he thought, yeah, he might’ve had a crush on you. this just fucking confirmed it though.

honestly it’s kinda insane how amazing he is, and it’s super unfair of him.

like come on, he cooks, he cleans, he loves animals! you’re just soft for him every single second you’re around him.

he has this insanely infectious optimism that’s practically beaming off of him. when things just seem awful or stressful, he has this magical gift to turn your mood around. his laughter makes your stomach jump and your heart soar, because when he’s happy you just can’t help but be happy too.

now let’s look at the other side of things, thoma is very very hot.

he’s quite lean but he’s very fit. all the chores and going out for early morning runs and dog walking he does on the side pays off.

I’m not sure what exactly he’d study in school but I could honestly see him wanting to become a vet, I just think he cares for life and animals so much, it just fits him.

you live in a dorm but he lives in a small apartment across the way and so you see him, tank top and shorts and all, leaving for his early runs. when he gets back you’re usually headed to school early, while he comes home to get ready for school himself. when he does though you take a pause to look (respectfully).

his muscles are a bit taut, droplets of sweat fall off of him and he runs a hand through his blonde hair, panting for breath after running who knows how far. still when you see him like that you can’t stop your mind from falling down the rabbit hole and god you just wanna stare at him all day.

school waits for no one though and so you pry your eyes off of him, only to hear him call your name and run up. he asks if you’re heading to school and when you say yes, he asks if you’ll just come in and wait for just a bit while he gets ready. that way you can walk there together.

yeah, you’re pretty early so you have time, so the first time you accept this offer it’s fine. you sit on his couch and when he comes out, freshly showered and casual clothes on, you smile and leave with him. it’s pleasant, and nice, and you make the nicest small talk you’ve ever had with someone.

this becomes a routine with you and thoma. you stop by his house early and then walk with him to school. he’s either coming back from his run and you wait for him, or you knock on his door to find him just about ready and then you head out.

this was one of those times where it was the ladder. you had nailed down the times when he went running and so you had hoped that when you knocked on his door he’d be there.

just as you did, he came to the door and you know what happened? he was shirtless, absolutely, shirtless.

he smiled at you like nothing was out of the ordinary, but the sweatpants he’d thrown on were low on his hips and you could see his v line and the little trail leading below the band. his abs were toned and his shoulders were broad, you had to keep from drooling on the spot because HE IS HOT! it only made you pay attention to the other things, when you looked up you saw his beautiful smile, his stunning green eyes, his soft blonde hair that was still wet from the shower.

thoma snapped a finger in front of your face to bring you back from your trance and he looked a bit concerned “you okay?”

“y-yeah! totally! ready to go yet?”

it was a dumb question as you looked at the half-dressed man, he giggled and he told you give him a couple minutes to change. he of course invited you in rather than have you wait outside, so you sat on his couch like you always did, only this time your heart was racing.

no dear god, he’s so hot, you wanna run your fingers along his body and feel every inch of him. you bet he feels soft, but his muscles must be firm. oh god no, you cover your face with your hands and groan.

your friend and neighbor is really hot and now you wanna kiss his stupidly pretty face.

this hoe man I swear to god he’s such a fucking handful and he knows it.

like don’t get me wrong, kaeya is great. he’s incredibly attentive and kind in ways that take you by surprise in comparison to his normal joking and smug personality. he’s also just that though, smug and a major tease.

he loves loves LOVES making you blush. that’s the first and foremost thing.

whenever he gets the chance to see those cheeks burning, he’ll do it. be it by complimenting you on something, or telling you one of his many many naughty jokes, a chance to make your cheeks and ears burn is a chance he will take every single time.

he’ll always point it out too like a little bitch. he’ll touch your cheek with the back of his cold hand say something like “aww baby your cheeks are burning up. are you sick?” and yeah that sounds nice, but he says it with a shit-eating, smug as fuck grin that makes you wanna punch his pretty face. but it’s too pretty to look at—and you don’t think your shot will even touch him anyway.

he also does like to catch you off guard and fluster you. his hands are always cold so when you’re focused on studying or literally anything else, he’ll come up and place both his hands on the side of your neck. you’ll yelp and look back to see him laughing, he apologizes swiftly but part of you doesn’t think he’s sorry.

he kabedons you. yes he does. all the time. when you can’t help but get a little distracted by his perfect face and his pretty hair and oh god his voice-

BAM he will slam a hand on the wall closest to you, trapping you and you can’t help but get shy. he leans in and smirks at you “why aren’t you listening darling?” he’ll ask and fuck him because he already knows why. you stutter and can’t get any words out as you choke on all of them, he’ll giggle and lean in to whisper in your ear “you need to pay attention.” and his breath is somehow cold too, or at least you think that because it has you shivering.

he knows exactly what he’s doing, he had assumed you’d had a crush on him, but every time he even joked about the possibility, you flat out denied anything of the sort the very second it came out of his mouth.

now kaeya knows how to hide his emotions, he’s dealt with so many people both genuine and fake, he knows how to handle it all. but it kinda hurts, a lot, when you deny liking him at all so quickly. you’d never be able to tell, as he simply laughs and teased you saying you’re being harsh. but no, he means it, it’s kinda harsh and makes him think, okay, maybe you don’t like him.

does that stop him from teasing you and flirting with you though? no. he just decides that if you don’t like him, then he can get bolder. and no, kaeya no, please you can’t handle more.

he takes it further from time to time, he’ll pinch the back of your neck now with his icy fingers. he’ll wrap his arms around your waist and lean into you, he’ll nuzzle into the crook of your neck and hum. he will fucking kiss your cheek or the palm of your hand too and that was the final straw.

you melt into his hands despite how cold he always is, and it confuses kaeya because if you didn’t like him like you said then this shouldn’t be an issue right? you’d just brush it off as him playing.

but no, you do like him, you’re just absolutely terrified of him rejecting you. it’s not as if you think kaeya would stop being your friend but hearing him say “sorry i was just messing with you.” would absolutely destroy you! you always had a small hope that his teasing was because he liked you back, but it’s scary, kaeya is always composed, he never shows his true hand. all of this could really be him playing around and finding your reactions funny. then he’ll be swift to reject anything real.

you want him badly, and yet you’re scared to even reach, fearing his cold hands will slap yours away.

hi. i love this man. he’s honestly that guy that just seems unattainable sometimes to me. at least at first, then you get to know him and you realize he isn’t unattainable. he’s just the right amount of perfect once you dig a little deeper. but yeah, at first you think, there’s no way.

i mean come on, he’s nice, he’s a perfect listener, he’s attentive to your feelings, he’s protective in just the right way that doesn’t make him an ass, and also if it isn’t obvious, he’s fucking beautiful.

god he’s just so perfect, he even cooks you meals. like for real he will cook you dinner if you visit him and he will make you lunch for work/school. you just wanna hug him and kiss him till he’s begging for air because you wanna push all the love you have for him out and into that one kiss.

still with how perfect he is, it almost seems like he’s too perfect sometimes, and by that I mean you just feel like there is NO WAY you can ever see him liking you back.

he’s the type of guy to me that’s a rich boy if it’s modern, because yeah I just can’t see him any other way. like he’s a college student, but he’s also the heir to something really gigantic and so he’s also studying for that.

he’s definitely the chaperone/sober friend as he hates alcohol. so if you drink you can guarantee he’ll look after you, and if you don’t then you two then become the pair of sober friends in your group.

diluc is not one for public skinship at all, he prefers for intimate moments—romantic or platonic—to be private. he does enjoy smaller showings of physical touch, like you resting your head on his arm or shoulder to relax, or when you hug his arm tightly to show your thanks to him—he always thinks that looks adorable.

his favorite though? holding hands. his hands are always warm, he loves holding your hand, interlocking fingers and giving little squeezes. when you thumb over the back of his hand it leaves him with his odd, giddy feeling he can’t pinpoint.

he reads to you, now this is a very private affair when it does happen. he lets you sit next to him or on his lap as he reads the story he’s engrossed in to you. his smooth voice lulls you to sleep and he dares to kiss your forehead when he knows you’re fully off in dreamland.

he is always first to check on you if you’ve injured yourself or are sick. everything stops. full stop. if you’ve hurt yourself or have fallen ill he is on his way. it doesn’t matter where he is he is coming. he also wants to be the one to take care of you as well.
