This game singlehandedly ignited my will to learn writing and painting again. Their story was hella traumatic that I AM COMMITTED TO GAVE THEM A BETTER FUTURE IN MY HEAD. Mafia II had such a huge impact on me, and I was in it pretty late, I don’t play video games at all, I only watched people playing them, and I was immediately hooked by them.

Spent my days and nights reading all the lore, watching all the walkthroughs, all the easter eggs, all cutscenes and stuff, I even purchased the game but I didn’t play it bcs my laptop would explode lol I was aiming for the artbook (lowkey kinda a letdown compared to the game they made😔)

They did such an amazing job creating the characters and how they built their relationship with us players, the story was such a rollercoaster sometimes I wished they gave them longer time to enjoy their success lmaooo. I do wished they would gave more to us bcs there are some stories that still left unclear. But from what they have done, it was such a masterpiece.

I really really love Mafia II, no joke I was feeling lost for a couple months, and this game helped me to distract my mind and started being productive again, and I’m forever grateful for it.

Then, the fandom themselves, was such a nice place to play around. I never been “joined” a fandom, and my experience here had been really amazing. I really enjoyed my time seeing, watching, reading all the posts that you guys have made. Special shoutout to @mafiamemesandedits she’s such a nice person to begin with, she followed me who was literally a NOBODY (my tumblr has been deactivated for yeaars, I revived just few months ago) and she interacted with me, being really kind and chill, and it made me feel.. welcomed. As a person with social anxiety, I’m really grateful with how people were interacting with me so far, and I’m really happy with the atmosphere in this fandom.

THANK YOUUU I AM HAPPY TO SEE YOU BACK IN MY INBOX FOR MY RETURN!! It was raining when you sent this so I drew my classic "I'm having emotions and need to frolic in puddles" gear, I was running around at 2 AM in the flooded streets because I had a bad day yesterday lmaooo

I'll have to make a long post about my trip when I get a chance because it was a rollercoaster at times, there were record highs and record lows truly. I've literally never left the midwest once in my entire life or even been on a plane, but TL;DR I got put on the guest list for one of my favorite bands (glass beach!) cause I got sick and the drummer saw my reddit post giving my tickets away. Which is still INSANE to me, nothing cool ever happens to me so that's a core memory for sure. So me and my bff went to las vegas, los angeles, san francisco and minneapolis in the span of less than a week and I'm STILL kinda overwhelmed tbh. Our home lives ended up falling apart the second we got back so I'm glad we at least had an epic cali vacay before it had to go south again.

I hadn't left my bedroom for more than a few minutes at a time for like a month prior so it was weird going from "iowa town of ~3,000 people" straight to CALIFORNIA?? I'll stop writing here and save it for the Trip Post but MAN WHAT A WEEK. AN EXPENSIVE WEEK. CALI IS EXPENSIVE. I AM UNBELIEVABLY BROKE NOW

The future of Trent Crimm: Have we only just begun?

If you are a person that isn’t into overanalysing interviews with actors, then keep scrolling because this post is not for you lmaooo. All subsequent screenshots are taken from Jimmy Lance’s subjectify interview and are in chronological order as they appeared in the interview. Let’s get right into it. 

I’ve been thinking a lot about this interview recently since we’re now in the post-Amsterdam era and I believe the things that happened in that episode recontextualise a lot of things mentioned here. Most obviously, this was the interview that really made fans believe Trent was going to be confirmed to be homosexual since he actively dodged an answer to that question (see screenshot number 3). Additionally, it made a lot of tinhatters believe that there might be something happening between Ted and Trent... Et voilá, Trent is gay now. And so, as I read over the interview again with that new nugget of knowledge in mind, I thought “I can read this a lot more delusionally now considering we were right about Trent.” Little did I know I’d be faced with a bit more of an emotional rollercoaster. 

@ishouldbedoingalright and I were kind of disappointed to find that a lot of the things Jimmy alludes to in the interview are already well explained by the fact that Trent is gay. The fact that he speaks of a “truth” to be revealed (screenshot 1) now makes me think he was simply speaking of the fact that Trent is gay, which now has been revealed to the audience. “There’s a lot going on” could very easily relate to the new Trent lore we were presented with: the fact that he only recently came out to his (presumable) ex-wife and daughter means there was a lot of upheaval in Trent’s life independent of his career change and even if he didn’t come out because of Ted, he very likely found the courage to do so because he saw that kind of authenticity was achievable for himself, inspired by Ted. It’s perfectly reasonable therefore that Jimmy is just referring to his own headcanons for Trent here, i.e., Trent being grateful for Ted’s presence because it gave Trent the push he needed to pursue the life he so desperately wants to lead (fitting in with what’s said in screenshot 2 here). That thinking took the wind out of my shipping sails a little bit because it already makes sense with what’s happened in the show sans tedtrent shipping agenda. Ted touched Trent’s life in a way that allowed Trent to become true to himself and try new things. Those things included coming out as gay and changing his career (which is still very touching in non-shipping terms and hence a perfectly plausible way to explain the things Jimmy said in the interview). 

But then I reread the interview again and something I hadn’t realised before caught my eye. The question of “Is [Trent] meant to be gay?” only appears ¾ of the way through the interview and is not what Jimmy is answering when he says “there’s a lot going on”. At that point, all they are talking about is how Trent looks at Ted. And I do find that an important detail to point out, especially considering what happens at the end of the interview. When the question of “Is [Trent] meant to be gay?” comes around, Jimmy refuses to answer it, which makes sense considering he wasn’t allowed to break his NDA and any answer would’ve been a spoiler for what happens in Amsterdam. But then Natalie Fischer aka the interviewer circles back to what they spoke about in the beginning by connecting the two points of Trent’s relationship to Ted and Trent’s sexuality. She says “That’s because of the look [Trent gives Ted], [...] the gaze I spoke about” after pointing out that despite Jimmy not being able to comment, many people back then interpreted Trent to be gay (see screenshot 4). And to this, Jimmy also doesn’t give a straight-forward answer and even more so, he says “I mean, it would be”, which half implies that to his understanding people are getting the idea that Trent might be gay not just from the ‘hair and the whole vibe’ but from the way he looks and behaves around Ted specifically (which wasn't the case, most people based this headcanon on Trent's...well...general vibe). To me, that implication isn’t explained by what has happened so far in the series. Sure, Trent can look at Ted admiringly considering how Ted has canonically affected Trent’s life, but that alone shouldn’t give people (and apparently Jimmy Lance) the impression that Trent is gay. The fact that it has could imply that there’s more to Trent’s admiration for Ted than gratitude and I don’t want to call gay people media literacy geniuses but the fact that Jimmy refuses to answer two questions in this interview and one of them has already turned out to be true just as fans predicted is all things considered... interesting. 

Plus, I want to talk about the tone indicator given in this interview. At the end when Jimmy says “all I will say is people are really forensically looking at stuff in a way that is kinda like... okay!” coupled with what he mentions earlier with people saying “Ted and Trent, they just need to kiss or whatever like, what the hell!” immediately made my queer fan alarm bells ring with the alert ‘the actor is making fun of the queer fans, you’re overinterpreting again, you’re going to get burnt for being invested’ etc. Reminiscent of other fandoms... but we’re not going to go there. However, the tone indicator struck me since Natalie really wanted to make sure people didn’t get the impression that Jimmy was being snarky, and readers would feel offended or even attacked by what Jimmy said here. And the fact that right in the beginning he says “that’s really funny to hear [...] that you pick up on that and if other people are picking up on that” makes it sound like he’s genuinely appreciative of the fact that people are invested in his acting decisions and his character’s admittedly minor scenes. So, I want to cautiously presume that even though we’re all delusional and aware of it, there might be more ground to our delusion than we’re giving ourselves credit for.

Peace and love guys. In the end, it's all just a bit of fun, isn't it.

Just wanted to stop by and say thank you for all your good Astarion takes lmaooo. I see so many posts in the tags that make me go "???" but I look forward to yours because you are actually engaging with the cannon narrative we see. Everyone is of course free to make/headcannon whatever they desire, but it's just so weird to me that instead of saying 'well my headcannon is X for this' ppl are constantly trying or arguing against what we are explicitly shown. Like, if you want to headcannon you are the loving exception to Astarions Ascendent vampire self, so are complete free too do so. However, based off of the LORE/NARRATIVE of the ACTUAL game we were given this is not the case so why try and justify that it is?

This got a little away from from me, but again your posts do such a good job of analyzing/engaging with the actual narrative we are shown that I wanted to show my appreciation.

Aww, thank you :) I think I'm just not that much into fanfic and "death of the author" culture. I simply believe we should respect certain limits the authors gave us before we should ask ourselves if this story or character is for us.

As for vampire Astarion, the game isn't subtle. You can have your vampire romance but the game tells you on what terms and it will be a nightmare for your character. It's completely fine playing with it in dark fics but please, gamewise you're a toy and means to an end. You're not special, if you break up with him, he's just pissy. If my Tav went as far as to hear him talking mockingly about love with such disdain, it would break her inside. Her pointless "It even hurts to look at you now" would be followed by yet another "You're such a fool" comment of his.

I love Astarion for his humor and vulnerability, all the little silly things he says and does and there's none of it in vamp Astarion. It was soothing to find out that yes, we can actually save him but for a few hours about three weeks ago, I was mildly depressed. Thanks again for the rollercoaster ride, Larian.

Jina's dramas awards 2021!

Late by 1 day but here it is!! I got to start many dramas this year but only some kept my attention for the entire time. Here are my favorites of 2021! (Check out my favs from 2020!)

As usual, these are mostly Chinese dramas and they're typically historical or period costume, non-modern dramas (although I do have a category for modern dramas).

best overall drama:

the long ballad (I literally finished this in 3 days and every episode had me in a rollercoaster of emotions and even dramatic entrances made me cackle!! Everything was solid from soundtrack to cinematography to acting.)

most delightful/fun drama:

queen of attack (just. This little mini, low budget series that was supposed to generate little buzz and make tiny money really went and did more. Full of classic tropes, the fresh couple made it work so good that it even received a 2nd season!!)

most impactful drama:

killer and healer (it came to me when I needed it the most back in March; I literally even re-learned Adobe Premiere so that I could create FOUR videos for it. Definitely not perfect but grabbed my heart and soul completely.)

most unexpected drama (aka the dark horse):

the imperial coroner (full of fairly new actors and seemingly typical characters, this drama took the world with its strong political plot and refreshing likeable and logical characters; the romance isn't overdone--some may say it's even a bit underdone--but when it happens, it's so so good.)

Miss the dragon (I saw all the bad reviews and first reactions, I know. But damn it, I still enjoyed every second of it. It's melodramatic and tragic and I loved it.)

drama with the best soundtrack:

ancient love poetry (literally has some of the top OST singers in the business like Mao Buyi. It's great. My fav is "Perseverance" where I can still recall that scene of her father's death; so beautifully well done and tragic.)

best costume/design/set drama:

song of youth (no matter how the ending was, this drama had great costumes. Even saw a post about how everything was pretty accurate to the times.)

favorite modern drama:

once we get married & unforgettable love (the chemistry just worked!! Also funnily enough...both are contract marriage dramas lmaooo I guess I have a type!)

favorite drama aired from any year & watched in 2021:

go princess go (2015) (what an iconic drama; no other drama could ever.)

let's shake it (2017) (my beloved zheng yecheng's drama that was a bit wacky but full of comedy and heart. Love it so much.)

drama with a soft spot in my heart:

not a chinese drama but Cherry Kiss (Japanese drama, BL) is everything and my heart believes in love & good because of it.

favorite currently-watching drama:

none this year sadly, I've been a bit busy.

favorite scene from a drama: (I couldn’t choose....)

ancient love poetry episode 41: gu jun’s death/sacrifice for his daughter. the swelling music, the tearful tragic goodbye. If I want to cry, I watch this scene.

also, if i want my heart to ache above love, I watch song of youth episode 37 about two minor characters’ separation due to their different social classes--with her being carried away in the bridal carriage while he watches and walks along tearfully--and she sees him!!!!!!!

the imperial coroner episode 1: chu chu unknowingly doing a test on xiao jinyu and jing yi laughing and choking on his tea. this whole scene makes me laugh every damn time, especially jing yi enjoying every second of it.

Y/N, Layla, and their new friend Jolene whipped their heads to the door and found Harry shrugging off his coat with a big smile on his face. He walked over to the couch and kissed Y/N on her forehead.

“Awww, baby, you didn’t tell me you’d have friends over.”

Y/N was just about to introduce her new friend when Jolene got up and immediately offered her hand for Harry to shake. “Jolene. You may call me Jo.”

“Nobody calls you Jo,” Layla said.

“Harry can,” Jolene said, still looking at Harry and shooting hearts from her eyes. It wasn’t new to Y/N. Girls looked at her boyfriend like that all the time. It used to bother her when they first started dating, but then she’d realised that Harry was completely oblivious to women flirting with him. Well, he probably could tell when someone was flirting with him, but he didn’t care anymore. So Y/N shouldn’t care either.

Harry squinted his eyes at Layla as he poked her arm and she slapped his hand away. “And who’s this grumpy lady?” he teased.

“Your mum,” she replied coldly.

Harry made a face. “Mum jokes are overrated.”

“Tell your boyfriend to leave me alone or I’ll kick his arse,” Layla told Y/N.

Harry chuckled as he shook his head. “The fact that I knew you before Y/N. Wow, I see how it is. I see what a loyal friend you are, Layla.”

“Whatever.” Layla waved him off and picked up her phone. “Could you please scurry off so we can talk about our kissing booth?”

“Kissing what?”

“Booth. Are you deaf?”

“We’re doing a kissing booth at the funfair for Valentine’s Day,” Jolene said quickly as if she was afraid someone would steal her words. She grinned widely at Harry, sitting with her legs together, hands on her knees. “We’re the organisers.”

“We get free tickets for all the rides,” Y/N told her boyfriend. “Let’s try the rollercoaster together!”

“First of all,” Harry cleared his throat, “I don’t do roller coasters. They make me puke. Second,” he turned to Layla, “I’m all about ‘her body, her choice’, yay feminism, but my girlfriend will not be working at the kissing booth.”

“Yeah, I will,” Y/N said, eyes wide, “as a ticket taker.”

Harry’s face screwed up. “A what?”

Y/N patted the back of her boyfriend’s head as she giggled. “A ticket taker, babe. I’ll be taking people’s tickets for the booth. I won’t even touch anyone’s hand.”

Harry tilted his head, his expression eased with relief and amusement. “You make me sound like a controlling boyfriend.” He frowned, looking as if he was butt-hurt about her answer, but Y/N knew he was just teasing. “You can touch people’s hands, love,” he said with an arm around her shoulders. “I don’t recommend it, though. People touch a lot of weird things at the funfair.”

“Okay, Mr Feminism,” Layla chimed in, “are you about to preach about hygiene, too? Because us ladies have more important things to do.”

Jolene raised a hand to stop Layla from talking. The girl looked psychotic as she looked up at Harry with the obsessive kind of smile that didn’t meet her enormous eyes. Y/N could definitely see Jolene in a Tim Burton movie. It was a compliment, by the way.

“As the head of the kissing booth committee,” said Jolene as she straightened her back, looking overly cheerful, “I’d say that Harry is welcome to stay. We do need more male members in our team.”

Layla sarcastically glanced around as if to look for the other male members while there were just the four of them. Then she cocked her head and cracked a smile at Jolene. Layla’s smile might look genuine with her eyes curled and everything, but it didn’t last for more than a second. “Listen up, Weasley,” she hissed, her eyes cold as she flicked a strand of Jolene’s red hair over the girl’s shoulder. “First of all, never interrupt me again. Second, you’re not the head of anything. Just because your daddy funded our kissing booth, it doesn’t make you Prom Queen. Third, we do not need male validation or their opinion.” Harry pulled Layla’s hair as a joke, and she pushed him right off the couch. He landed on his butt. Layla didn’t bat an eye as she went on, “We might be attracted to men, but we do not like men. Remember that.”

Harry quickly got to his feet and stood with a hand on the couch’s backrest, the other on his hip. “You’re absolutely right, ladies. Men are trash. And so I’ll be at the funfair to make sure you girls won’t be taken advantage of.”

“Oh, my!” Layla faked a gasp as she pressed the back of her hand to her forehead and fell backwards. “Isn’t this the knight in shining armour who’s come to rescue us the damsel in distress?”

Y/N and Jolene giggled as Harry flipped her off. “Fuck you, Layla.”

“Fuck you, too, Harold,” Layla said, lovingly.

“Layla!” came a voice from the hallway before Niall burst into the flat, holding two shopping bags. “I got the ribbons you asked for!” he exclaimed joyously, his eyes sparkled even though he was out of breath. “I didn’t know what shade of pink you wanted, so I bought them all.”

Layla stuck out her bottom lip as she gave a shrug. “Well, good job Niall. You’re not like the other men. You’re elite trash.”

“That’s the nicest thing she’s ever said to me,” Niall told Harry as he put the bags on the couch.

With a sigh, Harry said, “The nicest thing she ever said to me was, ‘Maybe you do deserve rights.’”

Layla looked at him over her shoulder, raising an eyebrow. “And don’t make me take that back, please.”

This February weather was too cold for a funfair, Harry thought, looking at the long queues edging forward slowly from the entrance. Customers were becoming increasingly excited and impatient as they took a few steps forward every so often. Harry was with the kissing booth girls so he didn’t have to line up. Faint music could be heard from beyond the tall gates with the occasional happy scream suddenly piercing the air. Below the rides younger children stood watching, eating their sweets and snacks. Ice creams wobbled perilously over the cones and dripped down their small fingers as they melted. A few ate too much and complained to their mummies and daddies.

“This is both heaven and hell,” Harry remarked, shaking his head.

“Let’s try the rollercoaster later,” Trix said enthusiastically, her pink curls bouncing on her shoulders as she did her little dance.

Harry put his hand up. “No, thank you, the last time I did it I threw up on the guy next to me.”

“That was me,” Niall said. “You threw up on me.”

“Yeah.” Harry pressed his lips together and patted Niall on the back. “Niall’s crush was there. So uncool.”

Y/N blinked in surprise. “Oh, you mean Layla?”

“No, no,” Niall scoffed. “I’m into blondes.”

“What were you guys talking about?”

Niall whirled around quickly and his smile reached his ear when Layla studied him with suspicion in her eyes.

“You, my beautiful best friend,” he said, putting an arm around her shoulders.

She cringed and shoved him away. “Okay, that’s just weird, ew. Anyway, we need you at the back, Y/L/N. Harold, Nialler, here are some free tickets. Go play something and do not distract my employee.”

“Your employee–” Y/N began but Layla cut her off.

“Go.” She waved her hand and turned to Harry with a smirk as Y/N hurriedly left.

“Leave my girlfriend alone, you jerk,” Harry said. “Also, how old do you think we are? We’re not gonna–”

“Harry, they have an Iron Man plushie!” Niall shouted from the distance, adding to it was Trix’s hysterical laughter.

“No fucking way!” Harry exclaimed, then he saw Layla raising an eyebrow at him, so he cleared his throat. “Fine, I’ll take those tickets.”

When Layla returned to the kissing booth, she found Y/N being scolded by two chavs, one blonde, one brunette. The booth was about to open, and there was a whole line waiting. These bitches better not be causing any trouble, otherwise, Layla would have to throw some hands, and she’d just had her nails done. Fuck this.

“Thank God, you’re here!” Y/N said, pulling Layla by the arm. “Can you talk to these girls? They’re angry.”

“What is it?”

“This is a fucking scam,” the blonde told Layla, waving the two tickets in front of her face. “We already paid.”

Annoyed by the attitude, Layla raised an eyebrow. “The fuck are you talking about?”

“We were told we’d get to kiss Harry,” the brunette chimed in. She sounded like a chipmunk, and Layla wanted nothing more than to smack her arse back to the jungle.

“Harry who?”

“Potter.” The blonde smiled sarcastically. “Harry Styles, no shit.”

“Harry’s my boyfriend,” Y/N said.

“Then why’s he working at the booth then?” snapped the brunette.

Layla and Y/N exchanged confused looks with each other before turning back to the girls. “He’s not.”

“So you bitches lied,” accused the blonde.

Layla stabbed a finger at her. “Hey, hey, nobody said that. We got Louis and Liam. Take it or leave it.”

The chavs whispered something to each other, gave Layla dirty looks, then tore their tickets in pieces and tossed them in the air like confetti.

“Yeah, walk away. We still have your money, you fools,” Layla shouted after them.

“What do you think they meant by Harry working at the booth?” Y/N asked.

Layla was just about to tell Y/N to ignore those chavs when she caught Jolene’s eyes before the girl turned quickly and walked away.

“Fucking Weasley!” cried Layla. With a few strides, she caught the red head by the arm and spun her around.

She immediately covered her face and shouted, “I can explain!”

“Yeah, explain!” Y/N stepped in, for the first time, looking pissed off. “Explain before...before Layla hurts you.”

Layla released Jolene’s arm and shot Y/N a look of disappointment. “Nice try, Mary Sue.”

Jolene swallowed hard, rubbing her arms. Layla just knew this girl was guilty since she couldn’t even make eye contact. “Okay,” she breathed, “I may have told some people that Harry would be at the booth.”

Layla glanced at Y/N, whose mouth was hanging open. “That explained why we sold out,” Layla said with a sigh.

“I was just trying to help,” murmured Jolene, but Layla didn’t give a fuck what her reason was. They were all fucked now.

“Now what are we gonna do?” Y/N asked, looking as if she was about to cry.

Layla hated both of them. She shut her eyes, pinched the bridge of her nose and exhaled sharply. “Go find Harry.”

“No,” Y/N objected, her brows furrowed. “I’m not letting Harry kiss random girls for a few pounds.”

“It’s just stupid kisses? Don’t have to mean anything,” Layla said.

“Oh yeah? How about you letting Niall kiss random girls then. He’s single,” Y/N argued then immediately bit her lip as if she’d just called Layla a slur. Okay, it felt like that anyway. Layla would hate to watch Niall kiss random strangers. She’d seen it, of course, but her allowing it to happen was a different thing.

“Fuck you,” she muttered. “Both of you.”

“Hey, was she bullying you?” asked Harry as he padded towards them, followed by Trix and Niall, who was holding a plushie like a trophy.

“Look, Iron Man plushie!”

Layla sighed for the hundredth time that night as she flipped him off. “Fuck all of you. Fuck me.” She threw her arms in the air. “Fuck this whole funfair.”

“Hey, hey, calm down,” Trix said, touching Layla’s shoulder only for Layla to shrug her hand off. “What is it?”

And so Y/N told them everything, including the conversation with the chavs that made Niall burst out laughing and shut up when Layla shot him a murderous look.

“That’s pretty fucked up,” Harry finally said, hugging Y/N from behind. “You know I’m taken.”

“I’ll do it,” Niall volunteered.

“Absolutely not,” Layla shut him down at once.

“I came with my brother and he’s hot so–” Jolene started, but Layla didn’t let her finish.

“No one wants Ron Weasley, Ginny. Shut the fuck up. Haven’t you fucked up enough?”

Everyone stood in silence for a moment, each trying to come up with their own solution. Layla checked her watch and found that they only had two more minutes until they had to open the booth. Most of their customers were expecting Harry, so Louis would definitely get booed when he stepped out. Layla didn’t give a fuck about Louis getting booed. He needed to be humbled anyway. But she was the one in charge of this kissing booth, and she would hate to be talked about as a scammer.

“I’ll apologise to them,” Harry said as he backed away toward the front of the line. “What’s the worst thing that could happen?”

“I could think of a million things but just let him die,” Layla murmured to Niall as they all watched Harry get on his ‘stage’.

Standing in front of the girls that were giving him heart eyes, he put on his notorious dimpled smile and accepted a microphone from Jolene. He tapped lightly on it to soundcheck.

“He thinks he’s a singer or some shit?” Layla asked. Y/N giggled, and Trix cheered for Harry because she genuinely thought he was going to sing.

“Ladies, hi,” Harry said into the mic. “I’m Harry.”

One girl screamed. Layla hoped she fainted and never woke up.

“There’s been a misunderstanding,” Harry went on, “because I’m not working at the booth tonight. I have a girlfriend. There she is.” All heads turned to Y/N and Layla could feel the poor girl shaking as she forced a plastic smile and tried not to faint as well. “Cutie. Anyway, yeah, so I won’t be kissing anyone that’s not her tonight. Don’t fret, though. Louis and Liam are wonderful kissers. Not that I know. Okay, that sounds wrong but–”

“Your boyfriend sucks,” Trix said.

“Agreed,” said Layla.

“I know,” Y/N sighed. “I mean, I suck, too, so.”

Layla nodded. “Double agreed.”

Meanwhile, Harry was still embarrassing himself. “We can hug though, no?”

“I brought my brother!” Jolene shouted from behind Harry.

Layla smacked her own forehead. “Jesus, Weasley, I—” But then she froze when she saw Jolene holding hands with a tall ginger guy, who just happened to be shirtless and have shiny abs. Layla’s jaw fell to the ground, and she was certain that she wasn’t the only one drooling.

“Damn, he’s hot,” Trix said, fanning herself.

“Oh, looks like we have a replacement,” Harry said into the mic. “Don’t be too sad, ladies. I–” The line advanced quickly, pushing Harry aside and heading straight to the booth now with Jolene’s Greek God brother behind it.

Harry walked back to the group as he smoothed his hair back, trying to not look so bitter, but Layla knew he wanted to cry. “Women. Babe! You too?!”

“I wasn’t looking!”

“Yes, you were!” Harry scoffed. “Disgusting, Y/N. You should be ashamed of yourself.” Then he tried to cover her eyes as she giggled and playfully fought him.

“Where’s his shirt?” Niall asked, looking disgusted.

“I spilt milkshakes on him?”

Jolene’s voice made everybody scream. They turned around and saw her grinning at them like a fucking psychopath Layla knew she was.

“How do you just teleport everywhere? Jesus fuck,” Layla said, catching her breath.

“And he just decided to go about shirtless?” Y/N asked Jolene. Harry was still trying to shield her vision from the guy’s shiny abs.

“Put a shirt on, Weasley,” he shouted at Jolene’s brother, making Y/N giggle.

“You’re so mean,” she said.

Layla found herself smiling as she watched them. Ew. Love.

“Can I steal you now?” Harry asked, pulling Y/N by the arm.

Y/N looked over her shoulder and found their friends standing by the booth. It was now a competition between Layla and Trix to see who could get Jolene’s brother’s attention. Poor Niall was just standing there with Louis and Liam, possibly trash-talking the poor guy.

“Yeah, sure, let’s go,” Y/N said and followed Harry before someone noticed they were missing.

“Fuck that guy,” Harry said once they were free from the screaming girls. “What’s so special about him? And fuck those girls, too. I was just a temporary obsession for them.”

“You’re a permanent obsession for me,” Y/N said.

He stopped walking and put his arms around her waist, an eyebrow arched. “Are you being flirty with me? That’s so out of character for you, miss.”

“It’s Valentine’s Day,” she said with a smile and her arms around his neck. “Besides, can you blame me? You look so good when you try hard to be better than a guy you don’t know.”

“Of course I’m better,” he scoffed. “That guy’s probably a robot. Nobody builds like that. Those abs? Plastic.”

Y/N tossed her head back and laughed then tiptoed to kiss him on the mouth.

He combed his fingers through her hair and smiled down softly at her. “Anyway, I know you said no Valentine’s Day gifts, so how about you picking any ride here and I’ll go with you. No matter how scary it is.”

Y/N faked a surprised look. “Even the rollercoaster?”

“Even the rollercoaster.” Harry sighed. “But hold on.”

He stepped back and pulled out a mask from the pocket of his coat. Y/N laughed as he put it on. “Why would you need a mask—”

“It’s for my eyes actually.” He pulled the mask up to cover his eyes instead of his nose and mouth. “So I can’t see when I’m up there. I’ll feel sick but if I looked, I’d most likely throw up. I also got wet tissues,” he blindingly searched in his pockets for the tissues, “for when I accidentally get my vomit on you.”

Y/N shook her head as she squeezed his cheeks. “You’re so weird.”

“Hey,” he lifted the mask to reveal one green eye, “I’m risking my life for you here.”

“That’s so romantic,” she said and nudged his nose with hers. “But I don’t want you to suffer tonight. How about the carousel?”

Harry pursed his lips, looking up as if he was still on the fence. “Hmmm. That’s child’s level, so I guess I can handle it. Although I might have to fight some kid to get the nicest horse.”

Y/N rolled her eyes as they both burst out laughing. “Oh, I love you so much.”

“I love you, too, babe,” he said between their kisses. “I love you, too.”

Somewhere in the distance, they could hear Layla screaming, “Hey, Niall, I’m sorry! Everyone wanted to feel his abs, not just me!”

Not me not watching good trouble at all and not touching the fosters fandom in a while and STILL i got emotional reading Maia’s post about her leaving. Callie and The Fosters, for better or worse, were a HUGE part of me during high school. It is incredibly bittersweet to see her leave and to know a character that was so dear to me for so long has closed a chapter and written an ending. Even if I have disconnected with Callie even before the fosters ended as a show, there was still smart comfort in knowing that she was still out there growing. I understand Maia and wish her the best. And i’m glad Callie got a happy ending, even if it wasn’t what I would have thought of 5 years ago. It feels like I have tons of emotions and things to say, yet what is there to really say? Ultimately I have had a wild rollercoaster with this character for so long. Callie Foster is one of those characters that I will always think about randomly sometimes. She will always pop in my brain from time to time as she has since I was a freshman in high school with s1 of The Fosters. A strong, stubborn, confusing and beautiful mess of a person.

Callie, you are a character that lasted with me a whole decade. You made me mad and hopeful. You made me laugh, cry, rage, and scream. Perhaps to say goodbye to you in an open ending final moment rather than a definite thing has always been how your character deserved to go. Because you have always been a wild one, and what does Callie Foster deserve if not going off on an adventure without a written ending?

While I never interact with the good trouble family, to them and to my old Foster pals, sending love to all. Is such a small, silly little thing to get emotional over a character, but it is a character that has been with many of us for over a decade. That’s a long ass time to be attached to someone. That’s enough time to know and love and hate a character so well they become a small part of your integral journey. The Fosters was never my first fandom, but I do think it is the first fandom here on tumblr where I found a voice and learn to connect differently with people. Before then (and still now) i was just a music artists fan. And that’s soso much more different than a fan of a show. There’s more arguments and different opinions and less stress over a celebrity’s personal life. The Fosters was perhaps some of the fictional characters I cared the most on a tv show. And truly first time I read a non y/n fanfic LMAOOO. I grew with this fandom, I said goodbye to this fandom, i fought and cried with this fandom. Good Trouble and Mariana still have more to give and stories to tell, but those of us who have been here since the early Fosters know how much we all fell on Callie. Even as a latin woman myself who could see myself more in Mariana, Callie was always a center piece in the fosters that drew me in. So it is inexplicable the end of a huge era. Maybe the beginning of the end for all characters. I still take comfort in knowing the moms and Mariana will still show up on screen sometimes. All love to everyone having feelings today about this and to everyone who has been in this journey with Callie for so long. Maia, you will be missed, and thank you for embodying one of the most beautiful messes I have had the pleasure to look up to.

oh i'm still sad over mike and nobara they looked so interesting! mike's death was unnecessarely cruel, i guess it was to show the beast titan/zeke as a villain from the start? but he still deserved better. 

i tried fullmetal alchemist brotherhood (i've only watched 3 episodes so far) and it seems really good! to be honest i had no idea what was going on during the first episode but the story seems really interesting and same for the characters. thank you for the recommendation! 

talking about annie and her father i finally had time to read chapter 4 of the road not taken and….. i hated it (don't worry it's positive) but i loved it so much. i was so HURT but the whole time where annie was having her nightmare was so well written and the way you write annie post canon (post canon? post chapter 139? i don't know which term fits the most) is so realistic! "They left me behind… I just wanted to go home….!" broke my heart, learning that reiner and bertholdt left suddenly while she was stuck in the crystal must have been horrible for her. 

calming annie by talking about the garden was very clever! people tend to think it's big speeches about working on yourself blablaba that works best during time like that but sometimes it's the smallest things (even if the garden isn't just a small thing for annie). i teared up when reader explained to annie what happened during the night and when they both felt guilty, so yeah this chapter was so good!! i can't wait for the next! (take all the time you need though) but i've seen that you said that things where gonna get worse and even though it's understandable…. i'm scared (but excited).

oh hell yeah!! the first episode is incredibly out of context and honestly it doesn't make much sense until after you've finished the series and understand all the little references to bigger plot stuff. it's an emotional rollercoaster for sure but the cast is top tier. either dub or sub tbh I've seen both, but in japanese the VA for ed is the same lady who voices hanji! i adore her

i am... so sorry j, lmaooo. it's a rough chapter for sure. it hurts me too if it makes you feel better 🤧 it's strangely comforting for you to compliment how well written the nightmare sequence was, i was a lil bit insecure about it. most of what's going to "get worse" are her nigutmares and what happens in them. it also puts distance between her and her girl because Annie is queen of bottling everything up and reverts to old habits — lordt I'm hurtin myself just thinking about it.

the scene talking about the garden is one of my favorites so far 😭 thank you thank u. I think it's realistic that in the moment that it's overwhelming to talk about big picture things, and distraction is the way to go when someone is that unreachable. the scene where they talk about it is the worst part of the chapter tbh (so so sorry again)

next chapter won't be too bad! i will give y'all some fluff to atone for my sins. also i've been considering about writing smut that goes with the road not taken if anyone is interested. probably wouldn't make it a part of the main storyline, just a little side book with snippets of nsfw shenanigans on the farm throughout the story if that makes sense? heheh

Luther- Bottom bunk. He doesn’t want to make the whole bed fall 🤣 He loves airplanes, there are even models in his childhood bedroom!! He loved theme park rides before his monkeyification (lol), but now is afraid his weight will ruin the ride :( He TOTALLY loves ice cream and cookies and anything else sweet, it’s his guilty pleasure. He doesn’t prank. He prefers stargazing, and knows all the names of visible stars. He would give the BEST hugs!! He just has to be careful not to squish people.

Diego- Top bunk. He loves being Above and looking out at everything from a hideout LOL Deep fear of flying in airplanes. He always thinks they’re going to crash 😔 He LOVES rollercoasters but definitely screams on them and denies it later lmaooo. He prefers spicy to sweet but likes a good piece of cake. He tries to prank, but it always backfires. He likes watching the ocean, especially when no one else is around. His hugs would be really awkward, but once he feels comfortable, he gives giant hugs.

Allison- Top bunk! She would decorate it with all sorts of fairy lights and posters! She has to fly in airplanes a lot, so she’s not as scared as she used to be. She likes the calmer theme park rides, like the teacups at Disney! She loves candies the most, like gummies or cotton candy. She really enjoys to prank people and get it on video! She posts them online. She likes stargazing. She thinks stars are really pretty. She only hugs for a little bit, her affection is shown more like a cat (staying in the same room and hanging out) :D.

Klaus- Bottom bunk. Having someone just above would make him feel really comfortable. He does NOT like flying in airplanes at ALL. He likes going on theme park rides that let you hang out with your family. He likes odd candy, like the ones with bugs in them, or super sour candy. He is 100% a prankster and targets Diego and Luther the most. He likes the ocean and in contrast to Diego’s broody staring, Klaus goes to splash around 🤣 Klaus gives giant, soft hugs once he knows the person wants one.

Five- Top bunk, but he refuses to climb the ladder and only teleports there FJFKFK He’s fine with being in an airplane, but prefers to fly a small one. For theme park rides, he’s the one that makes a calm ride SUPER intense dhfkgl. He pretends not to like sweets, but cheesecake is his SHIT. Secretly pranks people but pretends to have no idea what they’re talking about. He likes stargazing, especially with a cool telescope. Five gives awkward back pats when forced to hug lmaooo.

Ben- Bottom bunk, unless someone wants the bottom bunk. Then he is fine with going on the top bed. He’s fine with going on a plane, but worried for his alive siblings. He likes vibing in the calmer rides. Ben loves any sort of food he can get his hands on—especially caramel-flavored things. Biiig prankster, especially back when he was alive. His pranks were ELABORATE. He likes the ocean! He thinks it’s beautiful. Ben gives GIANT SUFFOCATING HUGS. He loves everyone so much.

Vanya- Top bunk for the reverse reason of Ben (she’ll go to the bottom bunk if someone else wants the top bunk). She’s slightly afraid of airplanes, but not enough to make a big deal. She would rather drive. She likes the semi-intense rides that kids can still go on. She likes coffee-flavored things and dark or milk chocolate bars. She only pranks when other people ask her to join in. Vanya likes the ocean and stars! It depends on the weather for her—cool weather with clouds would send her to the ocean, and hot weather with no clouds would make her want to look at the stars. She gives soft, gentle hugs.

imma keep it real with you chief............... i don’t read many clouis fics LMAO i’ve read maybe 3 or 4? but other than that, i just read my own writing 😭 but lemme recommend what i’ve read / seen around:

the very first fic i read for clouis was written by IronShieldGal, so i recommend giving their AO3 a look! same with Tomhottland, they only have two fics but they’re both great! @xscullyx, @missdaisymayrio, @darling-clemmy also write great twdg fics! also, before i forget, if you haven’t already, you gotta read With You by @stop-breaking-my-heart-telltale! it was only on chapter 2 when i read it, but it was AWESOME. that’s all i can recommend for now (because that’s all i know about) but if anyone else has any recommendations, lemme know or add ‘em to this post.
