Oh my God before I forget I had a somewhat Soriku dream.

Okay so Sora was facing Ansem, like in a battle and Riku suddenly appeared in front of him telling him to get out and hurry away. He was like protecting him from a blow. And suddenly Ansem is like holding this ball of darkness??? Like an orb I guess and Riku runs ahead and holds onto it, and the darkness is flowing INTO him and he literally shouts “I KNOW WHAT IM DOING!” When Ansem asks in a panic voiced “Do you know what you’re doing?!”

He accepts the darkness immediately and it was to protect Sora from Ansem. Like he knew what he was doing as in HE KNEW WHAT HE WAS SACRIFICING!! LITERALLY THE ROXAS AND RIKU FIGHT BUT DIFFERENT IN A DREAM😭😭.

Anyways this was a kinda nice dream. Hell yeah Riku taking darkness for Sora!!

EDIT: To make it more detailed, they were on Sora’s heart station, and Riku was there and able to defend Sora :).

jyn doesn't trust cassian -- doesn't trust anyone, let alone someone who's trained as a spy ( trained to lie ) for nearly his entire life. but sometime between her release from wobani and nearly dying on the beach, her opinion on him changed -- stark hatred to an unfamiliar feeling she'd rather not think too much about. best to lock it up in the cave in her mind, where everything else of that nature goes, so she doesn't have to think about it. it's startling, how, over the course of less than a week, she'd started to let walls down. upon this realization, she'd immediately built them back up, but it'd been so long that she hadn't even realized that it'd been happening. ( that, in itself, is the scariest part of this. how he'd been able to disarm her so easily -- are all alliance spies like him ? )

there's a part of her that feels like she . . . knows him, recognizes portions of herself staring back from his gaze when he looks at her. realistically, logically, she has no reason for this feeling -- hell, she doesn't even know how old he is or where he's from, yet there's no denying the ( inevitably one-sided ) connection that tethers a small part of her to him. she'd be lying if it hadn't factored into her joining the alliance after scarif -- it hadn't been her only motivation, but it's been so long since someone had come back for her and he'd done it more than once.

her hands clench tight around her weapon, knuckles white as they curl over the blaster. the steady anticipation of a fight thrums through her veins. the pair ofthem haven't been running missions together long –– it hadn't worked out at first -- but even the council can't deny the results now. despite how often they butt heads, they're an effective team on the battlefield, playing to each other's strengths and covering the other's weaknesses. her brain doesn't trust him. . .but in moments like these, her body does -- when she's acting solely on instinct, she trusts that he'll have her back without a second thought.

" you talkin' to me or yourself ? " she retorts, the corner of her mouth quirking up despite herself. the adrenaline coursing through her veins makes her feel lighter than usual, though she's not fool enough to let it distract her from their surroundings ; just because the last fight had been in their favor doesn't mean the next one will, and there's always a possibility that a rogue imp will be hiding around the next corner. but it's enough to make everything else in the world outside of her narrow focus a little farther away. it's just her, cassian, and the mission on hand -- nothing else.

" if you needed a pep talk, then you should've asked, captain. " she clicks her tongue, expression morphing into something more serious. if their intel is correct, the information on the database in the next room will save hundreds of lives. the thought of that is enough to sober her slightly. It started really as a one-off.

Buck was all broad shoulders and strong arms, a hulking redwood of a man who seemed to tower over everyone and everything. And you? Well… not so much.

You’d grown used to tilting your head back to meet his eyes, to stretching onto your tiptoes just to kiss him. But that one night, when something in the air felt light, fun, you’d found yourself getting creative.

It had been after dinner, a quiet evening in the apartment, the smell of spices lingering in the kitchen as the two of you moved through your usual routines.

He’d been washing the dishes, his tall, muscular frame filling the small space as you leaned against the couch, watching him.

Buck always made everything look so effortless, even something as simple as cleaning up, defined arms reaching across the surface with ease.

You shook your head, amused at the sight, and thats when the idea hit you.

As he returned, you stepped up onto the low coffee table that sat between the couch and the TV, elevating yourself just enough that when he looked back at you, for once, you were looking down at him.

It was barely half an inch, but you were satisfied.

He was so tall, so big, that it felt like half the time you were craning your neck just to meet his gaze.

Buck’s grin grew, his blue eyes twinkling as he stepped forward, standing just inches away from you. He wasn’t stupid—he knew what was coming, but he liked to play along. That was the thing about Buck; he had a sense humour to match his size.

You loved that about him, loved that despite his intimidating appearance, he was so easygoing, so ready to engage in your playful moments.

“Well,” you said, cupping his face with both hands, your palms warm against his stubbled cheeks. “This is how it feels to be tall,”

And before he could respond, you leaned in and kissed him. It was soft, tender, and for once, you didn’t have to strain or stretch or find some weird angle to reach him. For the first time in what felt like forever, you were the one with the advantage. When you pulled back, he was still smiling, eyes closed, clearly savoring the moment.

“How’s the weather up there?” he teased, voice low and affectionate.

You laughed, patting his chest. “Nothing but sunny skies,”

Buck hummed out a laugh as his palms splayed over your hips, although he didn’t get to bask in the moment for too long.

“Is that shelf always that dusty?”

That had been the beginning of it.

From then on, whenever you were in the mood to mess with him or just wanted to kiss him without feeling like you needed a step stool, you’d find something to stand on.

The stairs, a chair, even a curb if you were out walking. Each time, you’d make some cheeky comment about your newfound height, and each time, Buck would play along, leaning into your touch with a fond smile, like he couldn’t get enough.

It was as if, in those moments, the world shrank a little.

Buck’s usual stature seemed to fade, and the dynamic between the two of you shifted, becoming something even more intimate.

You could see it in his eyes, how much he adored it when you cupped his face and brought him down to your level. He never seemed to mind that you were taking a playful jab at his height. In fact, if anything, he seemed to love you more for it.

One evening, after a particularly grueling shift at the firehouse, Buck came home looking more worn than usual. His broad shoulders were slumped, and there were dark circles under his eyes, the weight of the day’s work evident in every step he took.

You had been waiting for him, curled up on the couch, but the moment you saw him, you knew he needed something to lift his spirits.

Without saying a word, you hopped off the couch and walked over to the stairs, climbing two steps before turning to face him. He looked up at you, tired but curious, his lips quirking into a small smile despite himself.

“Again?” he asked, his voice rough from the long day.

“Come here,” You beckoned softly, your hands already reaching out for him.

He moved toward you, and when he was standing in front of the stairs, you reached up, cupping his face just like you had so many times before.

This time, though, you were gentle, your thumbs brushing over the scruff on his cheeks as you tilted his head up to meet yours.

“I missed you today,” you whispered, pressing your lips to his in a slow, lingering kiss.

When you pulled back, you kept your hands on his face, looking down at him with all the love and affection you could muster. “Rough shift?”

He closed his eyes for a moment, exhaling deeply, and when he opened them again, that familiar softness had returned. The exhaustion was still there, but it wasn’t weighing him down quite as much anymore.

His hands came to rest on your waist, holding you close, and for a moment, you just stood there, savouring the quiet between you.

“Yeah,” he murmured, his voice barely above a whisper. “But it’s much better now,”

Over time, your little ritual became a balm for the both of you. Whenever things felt heavy, or when the world outside was too much, you’d find a way to shrink the distance between you.

It was a small, silly thing, but it meant something. It was a reminder that despite the difference in your heights, in your physicalities, you were equals in every other way.

You grounded him, gave him something to hold onto when the days got long and the nights got lonely.

One weekend, you found yourselves at a park near your apartment, enjoying a rare day off together.

Buck had insisted on taking you to this spot, one that overlooked the city and had the perfect view of the sunset. As the two of you walked along the path, hand in hand, you came across a low stone wall that lined the edge of the trail.

Without thinking, you hopped up onto it, grinning as Buck looked up at you, amused as ever. You walked along the wall, balancing carefully as he followed alongside you, his hand resting on your hip to steady you.

“Are you ever going to stop doing this?” he asked, though his smile told you he didn’t really want you to.

“Nope,” you replied, hopping off the wall and landing right in front of him. “Never,”

Buck chuckled, shaking his head as he pulled you into his arms, lifting you slightly off the ground as he kissed you.

You melted into him, wrapping your arms around his neck as his hands held you securely. Even though you were back to being shorter than him, it didn’t matter. In moments like these, there was no difference. It was just the two of you, wrapped up in each other, everything else fading away.

After he set you back down, you rested your forehead against his chest, listening to the steady thrum of his heartbeat beneath your ear.

His arms tightened around you, and you knew, without a doubt, that this was where you belonged. Whether you were standing on a table or two steps up, or just in his arms, the height didn’t matter.

What mattered was the way he looked at you, the way he held you, like you were the only thing in the world that could make him feel whole.

“Love you,” you murmured, your voice muffled against his shirt.

“Love you too,” he whispered back, his lips pressing a soft kiss to the top of your head.

From that moment on, every time you stood on something to kiss him, it wasn’t just a joke anymore. It was a promise.

A promise that no matter how tall the trees grew or how high the flames rose, you’d always find a way to reach him.

And Buck? He’d always be there, looking up at you with that same adoration in his eyes, grateful for every kiss you gave him, no matter how high up you had to go to deliver it.

Another thing, it’s not a bad thing per say, but it’s also very… dark?? Like I know tp is a darker Zelda game and is rated T, but it’s still relatively light hearted. And I’m reading this manga and watching some guy get slashed in half, watching Link get his arm chopped off, watching Illia contemplate suicide, like sheesh 😭😭😭😭 I think it mostly threw me off tho lol. Not stuff I’d expect to see from something Zelda, which I know doesn’t make sense but Zelda isn’t THAT dark you know? Even the rates T Zelda isn’t that dark.

I don’t mind darker and heavier stories, I also read some of fullmetal alchemist where Greed gets half his head chopped off (he lived tho) so it doesn’t bother me, it was just… unexpected for this manga fhdksvsksvsksbk

It’s mostly how Link is characterized, he’s fine in some of the books I’ve read but I HATE how he’s written in the first book. It feels very out of character for me you know? And I don’t like how different it is from the games? It feels like they’re trying to make it different enough from the game but then they write themselves into a hole and try to still make it similar to the games you know? I get that it won’t be the same as the game, heck a lot of the manga are very different, but idk if it’s cuz I love tp but it’s too different. Like the whole thing with Colin was too complicated where I’m like :/ why did they do that. I do love some things tho! One thing that will never cease to amaze me is how OVERLOOKED VI’S TRAUMA IS IN ARCANE.

Maybe it’s just the oldest daughter in me talking; But the trend I most often see in Arcane posts, rants and such, is a back and forth over Caitlin and Jinx. Who’s in the right between the two, who’s justified, who has more of a reason to grieve over their dead parent.

Vi is almost NEVER talked about when it comes to who has the right. And that is SO oldest sister of her.

She was the one old enough to properly understand what happened when their parents got killed.

She was the token older sister, always prepared to defend and take the fall for her younger siblings, hell, she was even prepared to get arrested or God knows what to protect Powder, Milo and Claggor at the age of what, 14-16?

She DID get arrested, and she was in there for about 7 years, in the darkest, dampest place she could possibly be, without sunlight, or fresh air, or ANY idea on if she would ever get out, her only hope and reason for pushing on STILL being her younger sister who also accidentally killed their entire family. WHO VI STILL LOVES AND WANTS TO PROTECT DESPITE THE FACT. And we also learn that Vi was definitely physically abused while she was stuck in that cell, (the look on her face when she hears that clunking coming down the hall proves it wasn’t an every once in a while thing.) She was literally forced to grieve alone, in the worst place imaginable, with no one to help her.

She is consistently shown blaming herself for the decisions of other people, because the over-pressured sister and daughter in her will definitely never fully grasp the fact that ITS NOT HER FAULT.

She had to come to terms with the fact that her little sister had chosen to work for and bond with the man that was responsible for the death of their father figure, and even then, after hearing the things Jinx had done, the ways she’d changed, Vi STILL tried to love her, to save her.

She was faced with a choice between her sister, and her (basically) girlfriend, and no matter how much you defend Jinx, or how much trauma she went through, or her lack of emotional maturity, none of that takes away from the pure terror of watching your sister point a gun in the face of someone you love, trying to make you ‘choose’. And then in the same moment, watching your girlfriend point a gun at your sister? Constantly being stuck in the middle of everyone you love?

Almost everyone she has ever loved either died, or completely turned on her, becoming a different person, or just straight up abandoning her.

The difference between her and the other trauma filled children of this series is that she’s not easy to pity like everyone else. She’s actually strong, and hasn’t completely lost her morals or snapped, even after everything she’s been through, so people don’t sympathize with her. She’s the token older sister, overlooked, over relied on, and villainized when she shows any sliver of fragile humanity.
