Just watched a quiet place day one and yes i have thots (spoiler alert i forgor to mention sorry)

This movie turned out to be one of my comfort movie to exist, the cinematography, the asmr-y sound effects, the acting, THE CAT, oh my god the whole movieeee

I also interpret this movie as a struggle from being suicidal or having depression, idk it may seem silly for others because the main plot is to get a damn pizza, usually in this type of movie the main goal for the characters is to survive, escape, get help, or to find a way to kill the monsters (ex with the first movie) but this? It's as if making a "side quest" as a "main quest" and it totally could get boring real fast) BUT NOT FOR ME.

I had suicidal thoughts many times and eating a damn pizza is like the only thing i want to do before disappearing, that one last purpose and feeling of safety to keep being alive and it's just.. ouch???? I don't give a damn if my world is ending which makes that scene where sam was walking against the crowd (absolute cinema btw) really depressing actually. While others are trying to get in that boat, trying to LIVE and BE ALIVE she was there against it and possibly walking into death.

Another reason that this pizza route is so comforting is because it taught me a lot to appreciate my surrounding and just yknow, surviving, then living.

Also these monsters felt like episodes, they're EVERYWHERE and if i made a mistake i'd get snatched right away before i could get my pizza lol. Especially at that subway scene like damn let bro BREATHE 💀

Eric, sam and frodo are so amazing, m'kay maybe eric could've gotten some more backstories but i'm guessing that he's planning to off himself at the subway (again, as someone who's having these kinds of thought so it could be wrong). There are these scenes when sam or eric were hugging frodo so tightly and it melted my heart so much because i'd hug something when i'm having anxiety/panic attacks. It's also helped me to ground my sensory so i don't dissociate too much :')

One more thing to add it's so hard to feel safe nowdays and THIS FUCKING MOVIE IS DEF THOSE ANXIETY HAPPENING ALL AT ONCE, but..

There's this genuine feeling of "safety" from it too. I can't really put it into words for what made it safe but it's really there. Maybe because i really felt understood by my interpretations of this movie, maybe because frodo's in it, or maybe because i just love this type of stories (ex girls' last tour)
