Saw a post recently, can't remember if it was here or Twitter, about cleaning the filter on your front-loading washing machine. Having grown up with top-loaders I didn't realize that was a thing? And uh we've had our washing machine for 6 years 😬

Today I did it. It was less gross than I was anticipating but still pretty damn gross. And very full. Fingers crossed that this helps our clothes be cleaner.

Tentative plan is to use "washing the guinea pig blankets" as my mental prompt to clean the filter after since we do that weekly and uh their bedding definitely leaves residue in the washer (mostly hay but also some of the paper bedding that sticks to the fleece).

But considering that I'm fairly phobic of standing/scuzzy water (like... will sometimes have a panic attack just from being near a pond) I am VERY proud of being brave today.

Anyway here are the guinea pigs.

Guys I’m going crazy here does anyone have that picture of David Bowie (curly hair era) sleeping with an absolutely massive black cat that’s ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLY HORRIBLY FAT. Like the cat kinda looks like a massive black pillow with a head and ears and it’s just kinda over David’s lap looking down at him menacingly and it’s from the back of the cat and David looks absolutely beautiful and loving as he peacefully sleeps like a gorgeous space angel prince and the cat is really really fat pls help me here I’m really really tired
