i'll share some from my document lovingly titled "kaneki gets radicalized," which is just a fancy way of saying "root A but it's good." under the cut!

“‘Aogiri’s full of monsters. They’re all terrible. I’ll kill them all,’” Eto said, giggling. “What a peabrained perspective.”

Kaneki’s eyes narrowed. “What do you mean?”

“So haughty; if you’d paid attention, you’d know Tatara already answered that question.” She spun around lightly, and it crossed his mind to attack her, but there was a sharpness to her turning that stayed his hand. “Well, whatever. This place is a decoy— a red herring for our favorite birds.”

The Doves. So Aogiri had a separate goal, but the question became: what could possibly be so important as to sacrifice all the ghouls here?

“Are you familiar with the Trojan War, Kaneki? It’s classic Greek mythos, covering the war on Troy by the Achaens. It ends—”

“It ends with the Trojan horse strategy, as described in the Aeneid by Virgil,” Kaneki interrupted. “What’s your point?”

She tilted her head at him. “So you do have a spine. Good. Yes, it ends with the Trojan horse.”

“… They’re a place to lock bad people up.”

“That’s the intended purpose, but do keep in mind where we are.” He couldn’t see, but he felt her eyes were narrow as those black holes stared at him. “‘This world is wrong.’”

His fist tightened.

“A net can cover a wide area, but it’s just a net: a tool to be used. It doesn’t differentiate between ‘good’ and ‘bad’ like people can. Let’s put it this way: your friends at Anteiku—” she spat the word out— “if they were lucky, would get put into Cochlea with the right evidence, and then treated the same as Yamori was. Maybe worse.

“But I digress. The full brunt of Aogiri’s forces are there right now, freeing people who will fight.” She pressed the tips of her fingers together. “Aogiri fights for a world where ghouls can exist openly. Doesn’t that sound nice?”

On paper, maybe. But— “Why are you telling me this?”

they both hold each other in the highest respect. william sees dakota as the prime (ha) example of what a hero should be. hes brave hes kind he does his best to protect everyone no matter what. hes all the things that william Isnt. BUT !!!! dakota also looks up to him !!! hes so smart hes good at problem solving hes so curious about everything and asking questions and poking his nose into things that nobody else would even consider. dakota knows hes not smart so he automatically looks to william whenever he needs a plan or someone to tell him what to do when he feels lost. they complement each other and they dont even !!!!! know it !!!!!!!

also regarding williams powers. fuck dude. season 1 he was so fucking scared of himself and ashamed of the things he could do . he hid every time he had to use wisp form !!! but dakota always thought it was so cool and was not QUIET about it. boy went fucking STAR EYES the first time he saw wisp form !!!!!! i will never stop thinking abt the first rolled for season 2 where charlie goes "if dakota hadnt left, he probably wouldve been able to convince william to keep using his powers and not to completely disregard their existence like he has been" and . considering what william is like in season 2... god this wouldve been a COMPLETELY different fucking campaign. theyre so. incredibly soulmates to me. theyre so important to each other theyd do anything for each other. i cant say too much more without accidentally giving you spoilers bc i WILL keep talking and not be able to shut up but GOD fuck ghostkicks enjoyers eat so well in the latter half of s2. moirails. 2 me !!!!!!!

Redacted Audio, Owari no Seraph, Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicle, Funamusea Universe, Hollow_ VA, Tokyo Ghoul, and D.Gray-Man by technicality though that oneshot isn't done or posted yet, lol. The ones I write for on the regular honestly vary depending on my mood and current devotion to the series, including the possible spite I feel towards that series, lmao. There are way more brief fic sparks I get for other series, but just never get the inspiration to go through with and end up forgetting.

Yes! I love giving love back to the love I recieve! Admittedly though, the only comments I haven't responded to seemed more like musing aloud, and I genuinely wasn't sure how to respond, lol. Now I feel like it's too late, so I feel awkward trying to respond now, but I feel bad not doing so all the same....

6 - What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

Probably Inversion: Another Story considering all the death and bad things it leaves off on, lol.

7 -What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

To Date a Vampire, though it's more like...reader-self-insert-y I guess? But is basically pure fluff, lol.

8 - Do you get hate on fics?

Not yet! I expected to get more hate for how many OC and OC/Canon fics I write, but my fics don't tend to garner much attention over all anyways I think, so it can't reach the loud haters, lol.

9 - Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

Nope!! I hate writing smut, I don't like reading smut that much either. I'm a fade-to-black type writer. The closest thing I'll get to writing smut is maybe writing brief instances of the off-screen smut, and there'll be a graphic sexual assault scene later in EIC (y'know, for the therapeutic aspect).

10 - Do you write crossovers?

...Technically? Lmfao. Though unfinished, Our Solemn Hour is a crossover with Tsubasa and X/1999, with many of the X characters appearing in it mostly as cameos. Embers of an Iridescent Cage is maybe a crossover between stories? Though, Decem: Anges et Demons does exist now. Burning Wings is a crossover-ish with characters from Tsubasa in a setting inspired by The Last of Us, though I didn't crosstag it in the latter fandom since the only similarity is literally just the setting. And that's all.

11 - Have you ever had a fic stolen?

I better fucking not. (No one wants my trash lmfao.)

No, but that would actually be incredible if it happened.

No, I am a selfish, haughty bastard and I need full reign over my stories, lmfao. Unless the other person was a similar writer with very similar ideas to me, it would never work. (Plus...I write about my FCs so often, so, lol. I personally find it very difficult to write stories about characters that aren't my own, hence the large volume of OC fic.)

That's a great question. (It honestly varies depending on my mood. Mostly OC/Canon ships probably. I do still adore SuzuFeri.)

I mean, if you know the language or do your research, go for it! Maybe add a footnote mentioning what was said for non-speakers if it wasn't brought up in the fic? (I don't personally ever plan for this myself for fics, but it is a small thing I plan on doing research for in my novel series, and I feel the same about original work too.)

OKAY SO, I think my actual first fanfic ever was a Kingdom Hearts fanfic, but the first one I posted on ao3 was for Owari no Seraph.

Artwork!

I do all my art with paper and pencil, hardly ever using an eraser. I then take a picture of my artwork with my phone and use editing to brighten and contrast the lines to be clearer and easier to work with. I upload the picture to IbisPaintX and begin the process of colouring, which is much like painting the way I do it. I do all my digital work with my phone and one of those pens that can interact with a screen via a rubber butt.

I'm still experimenting with every art piece to find my favourite style, and I do not often digitalize as it takes HOURS over multiple days.

I draw fandom content mostly as fandom content allows me to express my love for something, practice my art, and it doesn't require NEARLY as much thinking and planning as original characters do. That said, I do have a massive world building project I work on called Erisia (not based off the Deepwoken game, I have been working on this long before that was made), and this world is where all of my original work, characters, and ideas exist within one universe. Use the tag "Icarussys erisia" to filter that content specifically.

My minecraft modpack I made myself is my pride and joy, it has 313 mods, 6 resource packs, and 5 shaders. Yes it is actually playable, I get 60 fps (my set limit) with a render distance of 15 or 16 (my comfort zone), but the pack only runs on a really good PC, I run a i7-8700k hyperthreaded 6-core 3.7GHz that's been overlocked and stable for years to 5.1GHz all cores.

I drink tea and coffee, obsessed with noodles it's my favourite. Fav colours is generally speaking blue and purple. My favourite thing to draw is hair.

I listen to hundreds of bands while I draw, current go-to songs are Ugly Story by PhemieC, Brittle Bones Nicky series by Rare Americans, anything by AJR, anything by Lovejoy, anything by BoyWithUke.

Huge fan of angst and my art will dabble in things like gore, sensitive themes, suggestive themes, hurt/comfort, I will put appropriate warnings on posts that require them.

If I do ship art of Hermits (hermitcraft) understand it is the characters of their minecraft skins that I have created in my head, and I do so with the knowledge of the Hermits consent to this kind of artwork, if I do do artwork of a Hermit ship and one of the creators has requested it not to be done PLEASE tell me, it is guaranteed that I am just unaware of that boundary they've set as I don't watch the hermit streams or use twitter.

Probably because of this mindset:

Arima was terrible and abusive to him, yes.

But he also gave him books, rehabilitated him, was a father figure to Haise, didn't mind being considered a father figure (Arima called the Quinx his grandkids), and ultimately he and Eto trusted Kaneki enough to have him take over as the One-Eyed King, which gave him a reason to live and led to marrying Touka and fully wanting to live.

For Kaneki, those good memories and good traits co-exist with all the bad and the abuse. Whether he considers Arima a father figure "anyway", or thinks the good and bad equal each other, or maybe even that his good "makes up for" all the bad, that's up to your interpretation.

The difference between Arima and Yamori was that there were no good memories of Yamori. The closest was asking Kaneki to be his subordinate, which was under threat of killing everyone if he refused and was a full bluff anyway. I don't think Kaneki realized he was in for torture, but I think he knew that being Yamori's subordinate wouldn't be anything good.

Not saying that Kaneki's views on Arima are right, just what his reasons most likely are. I don't think there is a right answer to that, it's just a view and opinion, and it completely depends on the person and how they want to view it.

For Arima and Kaneki it kind of works backwards, but this kind of co-existing contradictory feelings is very common in Tokyo Ghoul. Hogi with Hachikawa and Mutsuki with Haise, as seen above. But also Touka with her dad, Amon and Donato, Akira and Amon, etc. I've always really liked it and seen it as very realistic.

I read one of the last anons question... I know you both enjoyed Tokyo Ghoul and My hero academia.

As much as I agreed with your posts in general and with Anon’s questione content... it made me wonder. Can villain be really redempted? Like, they can be redeemed internally. Heroes can forgive them and help the in redemption. However the issue is... that society most likely won’t. Even with Dabi/Endeavor issues, when you’d aspect one position to be taken (BJ’s, pro villain, con villain, pro heroes etc etc) instead what Hori gave us was more of a “Dabi is annoying” “let’s see what Endeavor will do” “maybe I should leave the country”. They don’t even care. Society blames villains and put an uber expectation on heroes. No civils even comment that children had to save them.

As much as I can see villains and heroes finding a common ground (Deku expressed this clearly, Ochaco was shocked about Toga crying and most likely Shoto will want to do skendjinf about his brother) and villains might want to be redeemed or saved but a world that ruined and reject them so they might eventually and partially change (Toga and Dabi were stain’s follower and both are invested in some heroes, while Shigaraki isn’t all for one, I don’t know how it could play but it can , as you said many times) the common issues of the villains is that society is unfair.

The point is... if society even care about heroes and would follow them blindly I can see it happening. But society doesn’t even care about heroes. The mass (let alone some exception) doesn’t even recognise Dabi as a victim or Endeavor’s merit in saving them for more than 20 years. It’s just a sick “let’s see”. Society bore both heroes but most importantly villains , however it doesn’t seem they recognise it in last chapter.

I mentioned Tokyo Ghoul for this. Ghouls and humans could never coexist; ghouls are human’s natural predator. Of course thanks to Kaneki as a charismatic leader, ghouls could pull together and organise without killing more than necessary. However the turning point was with the dragon. Without the dragon, a common natural enemy that would have hinder both ghouls and humans, they could never cooperate. A third party was what have them joined.

Quoting another manga, in Black Cover, after the main cast defeated a demon (super op enemy who brain washed brained some allies) regardless the politics charged the main character this that accusation: “if there was a demon, we could address the demon as the guilty. Asta (the mc) and all of the main cast put the life at great risk and save the kingdom who was destroyed. But after that, he was accused nonetheless. Because someone has to take the fall. And again Asta is part of a group with a bad reputation. “So after all, believing you’re the one who destroyed everything is even easier”.

So after all of this rumbling.... villains can have an internal redemption. Heroes can help redeem them and accept them. But how can they be redeem in a society which actively seek to blame another instead of taking their own responsibility? A society that watch and stand by like “meh Dabi si annoying” “heroes failed” “let’s see what Endeavor will do” basically omitting doing anything or recognising that the LOV came to exist because society is unfair? Is that even possibile without a third party like in TG:Re? Or villains will take the fall and will be improsoned nonetheless ?

#1: Tokyo Ghoul

So if you follow me for a while now or just have some kind of taste in anime, you should know Tokyo Ghoul.

For everyone who doesn't know it:

It's about the 19-year-old Kaneki Ken who lives in Tokyo and is now, thanks to an organ transplantation and a miserable date, a half-ghoul. To learn how to take control of his now new powers and strength, he has to go through a lot of shit. It's a journey of him finding out where he belongs to and who he really is.

Great anime even greater Manga 10/10 would recommend!!

#2: Full metal Alchemist Brotherhood

Action, romance here and there, sadness and humor... What do you want more?? Fma Brotherhood has it all!

For everyone who doesn't know it:

FmaB is about the two brothers Edward and Alphonso Elric that lose their mother to an incurable disease. With the power of alchemy, they use taboo knowledge to resurrect her. The process fails. Edward loses his left leg. Alphonso loses his entire body. To save his brother, Edward sacrifices his right arm. Both of them search for the Philosopher's stone to return themselves to their original bodies, even if that means becoming a "State Alchemist", one who uses their alchemy for the military.

FmaB is better than Fma so watch it!! Great ANIME!

My HEART OMG! This anime has amazing quality, a sad story, likable characters and a lot of intense moments!

Nine and twelve, the two boys behind the masked figures of the sphinx, should not exist. Yet they stand strong in a world of deception and secrets while they make the city fall around them after their successful terrorist attacks, in hopes of burying their own tragic truth.

#4: Attack on Titan

This anime literally has no chill omg the ANIMATION!?! Sadness, gore, a lot of deaths, GREAT storyline, and badass characters!

For everyone who doesn't know it:

Attack on Titan is set in a world where humanity lives inside cities surrounded by enormous Walls that protect them from Titanic, gigantic humanoid creatures that appear out of nowhere, kill humans and disappear. The story centers around Eren Jaeger, his adoptive sister Mikasa Ackermann, and their childhood friend Armin Arlett, whose lives are changed after the appearance of a Colossal Titan which destroys their hometown and kills of Eren's mother. The three friends join the Scout Regiment, an elite group of soldiers who fight Titans outside the Walls.

24/10 would recommend!!

Okay but this anime is gold and known everywhere!!

For those who don't know it:

The anime centers around Light Yagami, a high school student who finds a death note. He decides to rid the world of evil with the help of the Notebook. The book causes the death of anyone whose name is written in it and is passed on to Light by the Shinigami Ryuk after he becomes bored within the Shinigami world.

A classic anime for everyone who is a beginner! This is gold! Watch it!

#6: One Punch Man

Okay this anime is so funny but at the same time there is so much action, this is a must watch!

For everyone who doesn't know it:

The seemingly ordinary Saitama has a unique hobby: being a hero. To fulfill this childhood dream, he trained for three years,, and lost all his hair in the process. He now is incredibly powerful and no one is able to defeat him. In fact, he is so powerful that it takes one punch for him to win a battle,, that led to an unexpected problem- he is no longer able to enjoy the thrill and has become quite bored...

Really good anime! If anyone tells me Son Goku would win against him then bitch no??? Son Goku has no chance.

Gore, gore and even more gore. This anime is horror pure and has a great story!

In 1972, a popular student in Yomiyama North Middle School's class 3-3 named Misaki passed away during the school year. Old anime style, but great story!

For everyone who doesn't know it:

Code Geass is set in an alternate universe where, during the French Revolution, the nobles of all Europe fled to American colonies and ruled there from that time on. The resulting country "Britannia", is the world's foremost superpower by the time of Code Geass. The main lead of Code Geass is Lelouch- a prince of Britannia. His goals: he wants to kill his father, the Emperor, for abandoning him and his crippled sister after the assassination of his mother. With his superpower "Geass" he can control everyone who looks him into his eyes. Power in hand, Lelouch starts his quest for revenge.

10/10 would recommend!!

#9: Assassination Classroom

I really like this anime and the end is so sad????

A strange new teacher is introduced to Class 3-E at Kunugigaoka Junior High School. The teacher is a round-headed, tentacled octopoid creature that is capable to move at an insane speed. In a year, he plots to destroy the earth but decides to teach a junior high school class in the meantime for an unknown reason. The students greet him with assassination attempts in their journey to save the world by eventually murdering their own teacher, and to earn 10 billion yen from the government.

Really good anime!! Popular as well 10/10 would recommend!!

I love Shinichi omg gsgsgs this anime has so many cool gore scenes and is worth watching!!

For everyone who doesn't know it:

The sixteen-year-old high school student Shinichi Izumi falls victim to one of the parasites that descended to earth and quickly infiltrated humanity by burrowing into the brains of vulnerable targets. However, the parasite fails to take over his brain ending up in his right hand instead. The parasite, named Migi, has no choice but to rely on Shinichi in order to stay alive.

This anime is good written and modern, great for beginners!!!

When Izuku is four, he starts changing. It's subtle at first, but food slowly becomes less appetizing. What was once his favorite food is now comparable to sewage. When he turns ten, he finds out that he is no longer able to eat human food. He struggles, trying to present a normal facade to his mother by eating, then throwing up afterwards. Due to an incident, he is found half dead by Kanekei, who teaches him what to do with his quirk. Considering that Ghoul and Human biology are completely different, Izuku has to be extremely careful. What counts as a healthy Ghoul would be considered anorexic for a Human. Fastforward to U.A. (where he did not get OFA...yet), post USJ, and Class 1-A is getting extremely worried.

12. If you could change the ending to one book/game/show, what would you change about it?

Hmmmmmmm this is tough. However unsatisfied with how the climax in Heaven's Official Blessing came about, the conclusion was cute. As for Obey Me, it hasn't ended yet at all. I'm afraid I'm gonna have to default to my age old Naruto obsession. So much is just... there to change. But instead of Sasuke and Naruto losing their arms and therefore their link to each other and then going their seperate ways, I'd have them keep the arms and then have the next stage of their process to grow up be discovering the lore and rebuilding of the Uchiha and Uzumaki clans. Their story wouldn't necessarily end there, rather a new chapter would be opened from that one climax. Such is the way of a monster anime like that, and also fuck Kishimoto from the bottom of my heart.

18. Characters you want to wrap in a blanket and tell them they're going to be okay?

Off the top of my head? None. I'm not one to comfort per se.... more like I like to make things worse and then leave it that way. For fun. But if I had to choose, then I'd chose Adam from Sk8 the Infinity. His story is one of homophobia and abuse, but in the end he truly came out alright, for better or for worse. He has his "Eve" waiting for him and a chance to rebuild the relationships that were shattered by his life circumstances. He really is going to be okay.

(This also ties into the fact that I won't lie to in this aspect. I can't look Arbor, for example, in the eye and tell him he'll be alright. He was alright before he went to the Devildom. It just got worse. Same goes for characters like Kaneki from Tokyo Ghoul, Nico from Gangsta, etc etc. Their entire story is shit gets Worse.)

19. If you could be apart of any story, what story would you want to tag along in?

Ooh, this is rough. A story I always thought was rather nice was Rick Riordan's Percy Jackson, but ultimately... I'm Greek. In his opinion, I'm a) primitive and b) don't exist. So. But another book I would like to hang around with is Eragon. Just a cool world with a cool main boi.
