TCF Prompt 26
-------
Archie may be a chaotic lil shit, but he's the Whale Tribe's lil shit. Especially to three certain possessive Royals. And he's just about to learn how much. Archie doesn't do regrets often, but actually letting himself be injured and captured for this mission to do an inside job without telling anyone, prolly wasn't one of the best idea's he has had.
Really...he thought at watching Paseton's tight smile and the dead enemy in his hand, made him start to sweat a little, so much for the prince being the 'sane' one of the family...
--------
Whale tribe shenanigan's(no KRS, takes place after WS or in-between battles, etc)
Archie being a competent captain..until he does things without telling anyone...again.
Archie being a lil shit and gremlin to everyone and everything
Paseton being a bamf and can be just as scary as his sister
Archie been training Paseton after his attk from the mermaids.
Shickler unofficially adopting Archie without his knowledge or consent
Witira ready to throw hands...and does so, much to Archie's dismay(and fear).

LOL HI I HAVE A THOUGHT AGAINNN HEHEHE
Cale and the gang with someone who's a mermaid? They're scared shitless because of the insanity their fellow merfolk are expressing towards creatures that haven't done them anything too big. They can be transmigrated or just simply too self aware of what kind of people they are going to face if they keep meddling with other creatures' affairs with no reasonable explanation.
I love mermaids lol 😞
It can be platonic or romantic. I LOVE HOW YOU WRITE 🔥🔥🔥
Out of Their Minds - LoTCF & Mermaid! Reader
notes: thank you for enjoying my fics! I wrote something more lighthearted this time because I'm realised I kept writing angst. Low-key wanna do a pt.2 of this ngl. Also I know betta fishes live in shallow water but they are the most magnificent fish I have laid my eyes on so I wanted to use them
tags: mermaid reader, male reader (it wasn't planned, i was addressing to reader as a man before I could realise it lol), set after cale heals paseton, paseton/reader if you squint, i made a bunch of bullshit information about mermaids since there isn't much known about them anyways
English isn’t my first language so there will be grammatical errors
Pls don't repost my work anywhere without my permission
Constructive criticisms and any kind of interaction are more than welcome
Requests are open and welcome

Sigh
“This is what you get for working with shady people…”
You stare at the three mermaid corpses on top of a big rock. It was the middle of the night making the sight more eery. It makes you nauseous. Especially as you notice how one of them is armless.
However, you didn’t pity them.
“Serves you right to be honest.”
You whispered in the corpse’s ear as you sat on top of the boulder. Your mermaid tail swaying against a part of the rock that has no mermaid on it.
“How did you lose your arm though? Did you anger the Whale Tribe so much that they took your arm as a souvenir?”
Looking at the sea you wondered who killed them.
“Maybe it was that ruffian called Archie? But I heard rumours from the fishes that the Whale King will beat him to a pulp if he goes too far.”
Humming in disbelief, you continued talking to the corpse as though they were still alive.
“Hmm, but you guys crossed the line first so I guess doing this much to your bodies is nothing.”
You started thinking about what happened to the mermaid tribe as of late. Some shady organizations came and made a deal with them. You didn’t know much but you heard the organization called Arm was asking for a sea route.
“Wait, it’s kind of ironic, isn’t it? You’re working for something called Arm and you lost your arm when you died.”
With your index finger pointing out, you tried to poke the cheek of the armless mermaid. But alas you couldn’t do it. Too disgusted at their mummified looks.
“Eww, you all look so gross. Why am I even sitting on top of you all? I’m gonna go back now before that weirdo magic spearman who keeps calling himself my hyung looks for me.”
Grimacing at the thought of the guy who insisted you’re his family now, you tried to get off the boulder you were sitting on. You may be an orphan, but you aren’t desperate to acquire new family members.
Shaaaa
As you try to climb down, you hear a soft splashing sound from behind. It sounds like water being manifested out of thin air.
Wait… Water out of thin air?
That could only mean the Whale Tribe. Not just ordinary ones, but one of the Shickler’s children.
Panicking, you tried to turn around while climbing down. Which only resulted in you falling off the boulder and landing hard on your butt.
“Wait wait wait! Is that a sword? Oh my god, it’s Paseton. Wait no should I call you his highness Paseton?”
Teary eyes and mouth spouting a bunch of nonsense because of panic made the half-blood whale stop in his tracks. Usually, when he encounters a mermaid they would spare no time attacking him.
“Are you about to discard those bodies in the water?”
“What? No way! If I did that those weird people would find me sooner.”
“Weird… People?”
Paseton lowered his sword and you relaxed a little. You wiped your tears with the back of your hand before addressing the whale’s confusion.
“Yeah! You should know about it already. I heard the turtles talking about how the mermaids are haunting you because you found out they were working with humans! Oh, but you don’t seem hurt, good for you!”
You gave him a thumbs-up as if you weren’t on the verge of crying because you fell earlier.
The half-blood whale finds you weird. It looks like you have no intentions of hurting him. In fact, it looks like you’re supporting him?
“...You’re that rumoured eccentric mermaid. Son of the previous mermaid leader.”
“No need to make it sound good. I know the rumours actually call me crazy and not eccentric. But yes that’s me, the crazy orphan whose parents got assassinated by mermaids. They're the real lunatics if you ask me.”
Paseton hesitantly shook the hand you offered.
“But why are you here? I heard you’ve gone missing and the mermaid tribe are worried sick looking everywhere for you?”
“You’re one to talk, I heard your sister is going crazy looking for you too.”
Letting go of his hand, you began to explain what happened.
“You already know about it but the merpeople are getting help from above ground. That was also why they assassinated my mother, the previous mermaid leader. She wanted to straighten out the relationship between our tribe and yours. She also initially refused the offer that the humans made. Look where that got her.“
Because of that you became wanted by the merpeople too. They framed it as looking for the lost heir but what they really want is to capture you to exploit your abilities.
As thanks for not killing you, you explained your special abilities to Paseton. Your poison is three times stronger than normal mermaids. You also possess the ability to heal any poison that comes from water and it’s creatures in it. Another special ability of yours is transforming into a fish. A secret ability that only the direct blood of the true mermaid leader can possess.
“My poison is strong enough to do this.”
Stretching your arms, you demonstrated your poison to Paseton by letting it out on the mermaid beside you. This rendered the already armless mermaid tailless.
“The sight is disgusting each time. Not pretty at all.”
You gag as you watch the mermaid’s tail turn into green goo before it sizzles, leaving no trace behind.
“So what do you think? I was planning on leaving these bodies but I can get rid of them for you. In exchange, you’ll let me be on my merry way.”
Paseton nodded and you took that as a cue to start disintegrating the corpses with your poison.
“Where do plan to go now?”
“Honestly? I don’t know. The mermaids have gone crazy, I’m too scared to even look at them. Both the whales and the whale tribe won’t leave me alone if they see me because they’ll think I’m one of those lunatics. Maybe I’ll forever transform into a fish and create a fantasy nation and call it Lemuria or something.”
You said it in a joking manner but Paseton can see the fear in your eyes as you talk about the merpeople. At that moment the whale tribe prince pitied you. You have essentially become an outsider with nowhere to run to.
He was about to make an offer when a water whip struck beside you.
“See? That’s what I’m talking about, now a water whip is out to kill me. Wait waterwhip? Witira?!”
You desperately looked at the man in front of you.
“Hey, I helped you get rid of the bodies right? You said you’ll let me go right? So please explain to your sister I didn’t do anything.”
“What are you doing to my brother?!”
Witira’s angry voice from behind made you look at his brother more desperately. Paseton nodded as he walked towards his sister.
“Noona stop, he doesn’t mean any harm. We were just having a chat.”
“With a mermaid?”
Paseton begins explaining what happened to Witira. From how he gets help from a noble to you helping him get rid of the mermaids. He also explained how you’re on the run from the mermaids and the people working with them.
As Paeston speaks you tried to use their distracted state as an opportunity to go back to the sea.
Keyword being “try”.
“Where do you think you’re going?”
You feel the humpback whale half-blood scoop your fish form from the shore.
“A betta fish huh? You’re quite pretty.”
Good thing you’re a fish so the siblings wouldn’t be able to see you blush. Your fins did shine a little brighter though. Light blue with a red and white undertone that makes you look purple glistened under the moonlight.
But there’s no way they’ll know that’s how you show being flustered in fish form so it’s good.
“What do you want with me? I already did my end of the deal~”
You whined and flopped around Paseton’s hands, throwing a tantrum. The man only chuckled while his sister watched in amusement.
“Yes, yes. But I want to make another deal.”
That made you stop flailing around.
“Turn back first. The water in my hands is running out, you already splashed most of it out.”
Obeying, you transformed back into your mermaid form. You expected Paseton to put you down then. However, he didn’t and decided to carry your bridal style instead.
He may be the weakest of the whale tribe but his still stronger than most humans.
“So what do you want?”
You crossed your arms, pouting because you lost your chance to make a getaway.
“Well, I was thinking of taking you back with us. You have nowhere to go right? You can just live with us.”
Both you and Witira looked at him quizzically.
“What’s in it for you?”
“We’ll use your abilities when fighting the mermaids. You also have an information network that consists of sea creatures right? We’ll use that too.”
“Those are my friends, not a measly information network thank you very much. Also, didn’t you hear what I said earlier? I’m scared of mermaids now. I can’t even look at them.”
“Who says you have to look at them?”
You questioned what Paseton was saying. Meanwhile, Witira observes his brother. She agrees with his plan. After hearing what happened to you and your abilities, she knows you’ll be a useful card.
However, she knows her brother. And she knows that the way he's looking at you means more than what his entailing. He also seems confident that he’ll get you to go home with them before the sun rises.
Hmm, maybe that’s her fault for spoiling him too much…
“You don’t have to face them yourself. You don’t even have to leave the Whale Tribe village if you want. You’ll just have to use your abilities from far away and help us defeat the mermaid tribe.”
“...”
You mulled about it for a few seconds. It’s not like you have anything else to lose as you already lost everything. It is also true that you have nowhere to go. Your sea creature friends can only hide you for so long before you have to run away again. It also doesn’t seem like the humpback whale is lying.
Plus Paseton is pretty cute.
Wait what?
“So I don’t have to face them?”
“No.”
“Will I have my own house?”
“Hmm, not yet but I have a house that’s separate from our family residence. You can live there with me”
“Not bad… You promise I won’t meet them right? Including those crazy people that keep calling themself my new family.”
“I promise.”
“Can you buy me a large fish tank that’s installed in my house?”
“Making demands already? I’ll have a custom-made fish tank and pool, just for you.”
“Okay, deal!”
You raised your arms in celebration, already thinking just how beneficial this whole ordeal was for you. You’ll just have to provide them with your assistance that’s being used for the greater good and you’ll be spoiled as a compensation? Sweet.
Witira only shook her head at your conversation. She could already tell she had a lot to explain to her father once the three of you go home.
Oh well, as long as her brother is happy.

Wild-Ass Fantasy Series I Read As A Kid
"Sarah J. Maas" this and "Shadow and Bone" that, pshaw. Everyone know the best YA/Middle Grade fantasy books were random little collections of bizarre nonsense that'd keep you awake for a week straight. Such as:
The Young Wizards by Diane Duane: Two middle schoolers gain magical powers via library book and become wizards, which in this universe means "person who helps prevent the heat death of the universe." Featuring a pretty obvious gay wizard couple, talking cars, a white hole (opposite of black hole) named Fred, and Whale Rituals.
The Claidi Journals by Tanith Lee: An extremely funny girl flees servitude in a tiny city-state called the House, falls in love with a the leader of a nomadic tribe, and learns some deeply odd science-magic. Featuring robots, walking sharks, magnets that make you fly, psychic matchmaking rings, and so on.
Abarat by Clive Barker: Girl from the Midwest stumbles upon an entrance to another dimension, where there's an island for each hour of the day. She's threatened by an emo dictator, his grandmother, and her army of living dolls. Reading this series is like dropping acid, cannot recommend highly enough. Featuring a guy who has antlers and brothers who consist of heads on said antlers. Oh, and an evil tech billionaire.
Dark Reflections by Kai Meyer: Two orphans in an alternate version of 19th-century Venice learn to make magic mirrors while their city is being attacked by a reboot of the Ancient Egyptian Empire. The Venetian stone lions are alive. Featuring a trip to literal hell, a sphinx, a SCARIER sphinx, and a mermaid with legs.
The Sea of Trolls by Nancy Farmer: An aspiring tween bard in early-medieval England and his little sister get kidnapped by Vikings and meet all the VIPs of Norse mythology. Their surrogate grandpa is a master bard named The Bard. Featuring bitchy elves, matriarchal trolls, and a ghost named Jenny Greenteeth.
Please read these. Please. For the sake of your brain and soul.

Observation Pt. 2
*Spoilers of TCF Ahead*
So I am at the part where Cale meets Tonka for the first time, and here are the promised observation. Keep in mind that I have read TCF a good 7 to 8 times and the things I pay attention to are very different then what I would have done if reading the 4th or 5th time.
Cale was so real when he said that Paper cuts hurt a lot, so he didn't want to even think about getting cut by a sword. (Ch 19)
Hans said that Puzzle city fell out of the grace of gods, but we never get a reason for it, do we? (Ch 22)
Cale and his love for dramatics, with the whole tower and cryptic message when he sends the message to Taylor and Cage. After all Young Master is everything and cryptic hehehehhehe. (Ch 25)
When Cale said he wanted to make the Tower aesthetically pleasing, even though it's not necessary, it spoke to the perfectionist side of me. (Ch 24)
I always wondered how all of Lock's siblings got saved. Was it maybe that Rosalyn and Choi Han reached there first. Or did some of them have to be sent to investigate the disappearance of Black Dragon and therefore the delayed timeline? (Ch - 30)
Also curious about OG Cale and Eric's friendship.
I think this was where Cale made a special place in Albreu's Heart.
There isn't much to being Human.
Cale and his habit of contradicting actions. He said this about Choi Han and we all know who did what.
He rides on the whales with the whale tribe to fight against mermaids in the future.
Ohh Ron. Grandpa Ron really loves Cale a lot more than anyone realizes.
He couldn't allow Cale to go into the palace looking worse than the royal family or the other nobles. Ron did not want to see the puppy young master that he raised being looked down upon by others. That would be his last duty before he left.
Cale really compliments people's beauty a lot too. No matter whether they are male or female. He appreciates the good looks just enough.
Reading about Cale thinking about the Whale King and how he was upset over Paston's death and how he swore to not lose anyone again. It showcases how, unlike other isekiaied Main Leads, Cale never treated anyone as a character. They were always living people to him. And he respected the sensitive emotions of these people.
Also tell me I am wrong, cause in my head Tonka and Rufus Scrimgeour looks like long lost cousin:

OG!Lock appreciation post because he’s one of my favorite characters
Lock is one of my favorite TCF characters, even if he doesn’t show up as much as other characters, but this time, I wanna talk about OG!Lock because TBoaH universe is definitely something that needed to be studied in a lab under a microscope.
TBoaH was a tragedy, a universe where basically everything went wrong. TCF!Lock is already different from TBoaH Lock because he never lost his hope, and he had his siblings with him. Lock was no longer the only survivor of the wolf tribe, and while he was hurt, he still had a reason to go on with a more positive outlook.
TBoaH!Lock on the other hand, was not able to live such a life. Lock is very young, thirteen when he loses his whole family, and fourteen when he loses Pendrick. Anyone would be driven to despair after such an event, especially a young kid like Lock who was definitely still coping with the loss of his family.
I think one of the lines I remember the most clearly out of all the TBoaH segments we get early in TCF was the conversation Lock had with the Whale King. And just that whole section in general. The fact that even if he was scared and afraid, he still did his best and fought with Rosalyn and Choi Han.
This is such an important thing, especially in the context of TBoaH Lock, who had lost Pendrick recently. Right now the only other family he has left are Rosalyn and Choi Han. While fighting against mermaids and their poison is scary, to Lock, the idea that Rosalyn and Choi Han will die while fighting and he did nothing is scarier.
This is the Lock that hid away when the rest of his family died, this is Lock who wasn’t able to do anything when Pendrick died. Of course he would be scared of being alone, no one wants to be alone. It must be even worse for him now that he has to live with the fact that he did nothing when all of his family died, even if it wasn’t his fault.
That was why, even if he was terrified, he still fought against the mermaids with them.
What makes TBoaH so tragic is how little we know of what happened, their feelings, their pain, it existed but we never got to see it. The only person who remembers most of what went on is OG!Cale and Kim Roksoo.
Something I think about a lot is Lock and Choi Han, and how Choi Han definitely sees himself in Lock. He protects Lock in a way he couldn’t protect himself, to him, Lock is a boy who has gone through the same pain he has at an age he never should have had to.
That’s why I think Choi Han’s guilty conscience would be even stronger. Seeing Lock suffer would make him want to become a hero even more, despite the fact that being a hero definitely hurt himself in some way. Had it not been for KRS!Cale, I think Choi Han would have become a self sacrificial person without even meaning to.
That is the nature of wanting to bring across justice. Justice is something that isn’t free, and can only come from something that has been done wrong. Choi Han can bring justice and help as many people as he can, but he can’t make up for the past and what happened.
I think the thing that is so meaningful is that none of them gave up, they lost hope over and over again, maybe they had lost it by the time the war was coming to an end, but they still fought. The fought for a world that was basically left for dead years ago, it’s incredibly sad, but it is a kind of strength to be able to live on in such circumstances.
TBoaH universe will always be such an existence, the fact that it only lives on in two people’s memories(Three if we count Choi Jung-gun)

Mermaid!Thrawn x f!reader part 5
Tumblr media
Part 1, 2, 3, 4
"You're searching something in particular, miss?"
You turn to the Librarian, a nice short lady with round glasses that comically enlarge her eyes.
"Well, yes... In fact I'm searching several things : I would like a book on sign language, a book on the legends of the town and the gazette archives around the 50's. I don't know if you would have all that..." you explain. She seems to think for a second. "Wait at this table, I will give you what you need." she says as she walk away among the shelfs. You let your gaze travel on the covers of the books, leafing through some by curiosity, those are illustrated books for children about fairy tales. You realize you've never heard Thrawn sing like in the tales, maybe this is just folklore... You pick up an old illustrated edition of the Little Mermaid and read it again. How long since you last read it? Years, most probably. You sit at the table and let yourself carried by the tragic tale of the adolescent.
You're fully immerged in the story when she came back with the books. "The archives are on microfilms, if you want to see them we will need to take out the machine. Is it urgent?"
"No." you shake your head with a smile "No, I can come back next week.", "It would be preferable, indeed." You thank her and opens the legend book "Legends of our region" and pass everything until the aquatic creatures part. It speaks of a monster toad that haunts the swamps and a little undine that died for a pearl, you skim over the unnecessary text until you find the mermaids, and your thoroughly disapointed : The text is one page long with a childish drawing of a siren. You sigh. You choose a second one, to find out that they don't speak of it at all you take the last one with little hope but you're more lucky.
"The mermaid is an antique sea creature, existing through multiple form in multiple cultures, but the siren of our region is a bit more specific and have capacities her cousins lack." tells you the author. You install yourself comfortably and start reading. Your mermaid specie is especially sociable, helping the fisherman and the shipwrecker victims, they would have guided the fish to the shore with their songs, commanding them. They used to be nomadic tribes, following and hunting among the great whales but became sedentary as humans took the roles of the whales, providers of food. Magical creatures, they can metamorphosis in sea lion, daulphin or walrus, and even human for a brief amount of time. They say they also posess a potion to transform a human in a mermaid. The tales of the shipwrecks by singing mermaid would be a pure invention, the sailors simply choosen to take the potion and disapear into the sea forever and the desesperate partners staying on land shared the tell to mourn their relationships. Once every millenial, the tribe would get on land to enjoy a hunt party and taste what the land as to offer different than the sea and then go back into waters. They would be a second tribes that didn't help humans but eat them, drowning sailors and careless swimmers, they would be hideous creatures screetching in the night, obsess over blood and flesh. They live in the deepest layers of the ocean, where the light can't shine, in contrary of the good mermaid that higher in the layers. Today the mermaid disapeared, never to be seen again, like every mythologic creatures.
Your smartphone rings, you received an sms. It's your mother telling you that your father will sleep at a friend house tonight because they argued again.
You sigh.
You exit the library with your books, saddened. You wish you could come back in time, when you were young and your parents didn't hate each other... When they would laugh and play with you. Today they only scream and break dishes. When was the last meal you ate with them that didn't end in an argument?
What started all of this? Did they fall out of love? Did your mother cheated on your father before or after the first major argument? Before or after your father started drinking? Did he start because of that or because of his work?
You remember one night he came in the dead of night into your room, drunk, and wake you up to cry...
"Why are you crying, child?" a voice rises next to you. You raise your head to an old men in a cassock, on the front steps of the church.
"Huh... Nothing." You wipe your tears, blinking "Just bad memories."
"Would you want to tell me? To alleviate your heart." He proposes. You look at him, he looks stern, uptight, dead serious and cold. "No, i'm not really religious. It would not be-", "I didn't mean in the chapel or anyting of the sort, just have you talk would maybe ease your trouble by putting it into words." He corrects.
"Ho!" you're suprised "That is really nice of you, but I don't like talking of my problems to strangers, that is not really their cross to bearn, y'know." You try some humor, but it doesn't work, his face remains rigid and stoic. His eyes look like they could see your soul, making you feel a bit uneasy. "Then speak to a friend, maybe they would be of good advice.", "Yes sir." you nod, timidely.
"Can I see your book?" he asks politely, but his gaze is hard. You hand him the book in silence. "You try to communicate with your deaf and mute brothers and sisters? That is a good thing." You smile politely "Something of the sort." You observe the church as he leafs through it, you remember loving visiting it. Your familly isn't religious, you just like visiting old buildings, maybe you should try urbex, it could be fun! Him however, you've never seen him before
"You're new here, father...?", "Father Tarkin." he gives you back the book with a nod "In fact I came back, you must have been a infant when I was first here.", "Oh. It was a will of yours?" His hard gaze travels across the streets like he could see sin just by looking at it. "I felt a sensation of unfinished business here." You feel you won't have any more info than that so you politely thay goodbye "Well, welcome back father" and start to walk away
"One moment please." you stop dead in your tracks, turning to him with wondering eyes "Your necklace..." By instinct you grip it "What?", "It reminds me of something, is it a family heirloom?", "Yes" you lie, "Oh... curious." He seems to think, holding his chin and frowning. You feel yourself shivering. What if he knows?
"It looks like the tiara exposed at the museum.", you sigh relieved "Oh? Really?", he nods "Yes. Maybe it was inspired by the same art style?", "Probably"
He looks at it some more and shakes his head "Anyway, the night will soon fall. Go home.", "Yes father!" And you go off, you pedal to the beach and jump off your bike, run to the shore and push a bark into waters.
You paddle towards the setting sun, craddled by the waves. You paddle along the cliffs in search of one particular cavern... When you found it you enter it, when the sea will rise again, the entry will be completely hidden and you'll be stuck.
You get out of the bark and walk inside the large cavern , familiarizing yourself with the place. Then you take your flashlight and study the sign language book, waiting for him
An hour passes by when you feel a claw grazing your tighs, you raise your head from the text to see Thrawn looking at you intently. You can't help but smile. "Hi!" you wave at him surexcited, he imitates your gesture slower, like he wonders what does it mean.
You take out a fish container and he hops on the bank to seat next to you "I hope you like salmon!" you sing. You open it and give him some of the fish and you eat it together, sneakily you robbed your mother of some soy sauce and put some on your piece. He looks interested, "You want to try?" you smile. He takes the bottle and traces the text on the tag with his claw. "I doubt you can make sense of it." you mock gently. He opens the lid and inhale the scent. He frowns severely and you burst out laughing, "You're surely not used to it under water!", he looks at you like he understood you were mocking him. Nevertheless he tries it, lets a drop of it fall on his tongue and taste it. His face is indecipherable and he puts down the bottle without letting an ounce of expression twist it. He eats his salmon silently and with dignity, while you do your own cookery, slicing it and dropping it in the sauce. "Usually I eat it with sesame too." You mundanely explain, you start talking to him about your day, about every little things that happened to you. He lays down on his elbow and listen, letting his codal fin resting in water, you see his ear-fins-things wave at some moment, and his dorsal fin undulate. Once again you vent all you can, he remains still, unmoving as you both can see the sun finishing to set and the water slowly raising. You'll soon need to exit the cavern.
But you feel so good here... with him. You can't speak together, but you feel connected on an intimate level. Like you knew him for years.
You let your eyes wonders on him and you notice he's wearing your old plastic bracelet. "Ah!" you smile, you take out the necklace and show it to him, he nods slowly.
You lay beside him, letting your feet in the water, grazing his fin.
You remain silent, watching the stars through an opening in the stone of the cliff. You point at one star "Ursa minor." you indicate. He points another "Cha'fh." he murmures, "Antares." you say, "Strech" he responds, "Perseus", "Me'ro"...
You redo the wole sky like that, you giggling and him all serious. "I probably shout note everything you say, so I can remember it all my life. Oh wait!" You take out the sign language book and a mini-moodboard with markers out of your bag, " I think about ways to communicate better!" you exclaims. He raises back his torso with a raised eyebrow.
You're about to explain to him when your smartphone rings. He growls at the sudden sound. "It's okay, it's a smartphone, it won't do anything" He relaxes when he see the small machine but looks puzzled when you start speaking to it.
"Where are you?!" bawls your mother. You wince. "I'm out... with a friend.", "You didn't warn me about that! I was worried dead! Come home this instant!", "Mom, I'm an adult, I can do-", "Huh,huh, young lady! As long as you live under my roof you will abide by my rules!" and she hungs up.
You sigh, Thrawn looks at you, curious. "I have to go..." you grumble. You gather your stuff and enter the waters, you'll have to swim the sea rose. Thrawn slides next to you ready to follow you but you hesitate, you got your flashlight to look in the dark but in salted water you won't be able to open your eyes. You wince "Crap." Thrawn seems to notice your hesitation.
He gently takes your hand and pulls you gently. You take a deep breath, close your eyes and go under water. You feel him swim next to you with his powerful tail, pulling you towards the exterior. You let him guide you, swimming with your legs, he pulls you with an assured hand.
Finally you pierce the water with a gasp. Thrawn is next to you, holding your hand, waiting for you to take back your breath. You'll be drenched at home. Great...
"Thank you." You gasp, he nods and you go back to the shore together. You part with him almost reluctantly, but he let go without difficulties. You walk on the sand as he remains in shallow waters, looking at you walking away, you turn to him and wave him goodbye, he imitates you and you look at him swiming away.
Who knows when you'll see him again, he comes and goes as it pleases him

This originally was for PoR and Radiant Dawn. That Aquatic Laguz anon had my mind running a mile a minute for a solid few days. So one of the Dragon Laguz, specifically the Blue Tribe's leader, didn't appreciate Ashunera flooding the world she created. He dumped into the rising sea in a desperate attempt to save the Laguz and Beorc drowning. I came up with a description, that huh, might be counted as body horror?
"As the great dragon flew through the waters, he embraced each life that still drew breath. Wrapping his body around the survivors, he paid not to the screaming currents that cut his scales. He stood fast as falling debris shredded his wings, instead grateful the fragile mortals were kept safe under his shadow. Roiling waves turned crimson as the Goddess's Wrath fractured the world, drowning great nations and bearing down on the waters."
He lost his wings, and most of his scales, essentially turning into an eastern style dragon. The blood loss caused him to hibernate for a century, and ended up giving anything that was exposed to it the ability to survive in the ocean. When he woke up, he found a budded civilization and quickly realized he accidentally created a few new races. The Laguz had turned into more sea faring races: Whales, sharks, squids, basically all the larger aquatic species. They mostly lived in the deeper parts of the ocean, while the Beorc gained webbed hands and feet, gills, and some scales on their back. They lived in the shallower waters, where they could tell night from day. Neither really knew the other existed because of this. And were somewhat struggling because of their limited habitat.
So what does this extremely sympathetic and protective dragon do? Raise them of course! He establishes himself as ruler, and starts trying to integrate the two races. That proves difficult... Tensions are high, trade deals are taking forever, and he really wishes Ashunera was here to help. Very conveniently, the "Branded" starts being born around this time. Blue Dragon Dad realizes they can safely exist in both the dark trenches and the lighter corals. If his faith was wavering, it sure isn't now. Dragon Dad thinks this is Ashunera's apology, basically "Sorry I flooded the world, here's someone who can thrive in it." The Branded of the sea aren't called Branded, they're called something else, but I haven't come up with a name yet. Help.
So while the Beorc and Laguz of the surface are tearing each other apart, the ones in the sea are just chilling. Now, the whole "Laguz losing their powers" does cause some issues and tensions. Leading to some abandoning their kids despite Dragon Dad saying to welcome them. Thankfully, Whales are very intelligent and empathetic beings who will gladly adopt the tiny baby left in the open sea. The Hierarchy of the sea looks like this: Dragons, Whales, Beorc, Sharks, "Branded", and then everything else.
Dragon Dad moved his power to a pearl(aka Dragon Stone), so he can mingle with his followers kids better, and hand that power to his descendants if necessary. He can control the currents, which are important in connecting the various kingdoms. Grow coral reefs, restore old ruins, control most types of magic, and teach everyone about the (outdated) history of the world.
Whales are similar to Herons, only because they have power similar to Galdr. Whale Songs control the waves, restore coral, ward off harm, can communicate across nations, and can function similarly to Galdr, just deeper. Because of their duties, using their songs to help balance the ocean, escorting people between the lighter and darker waters, taking care of orphaned kids, regardless of race, and healing any damage that still lingers from Ashunera, they rank second. Despite the fact they strictly adhere to pacifist ways.(Unless you threaten their kids.)
"Branded" are basically mermaids. Their tails are completely random, regardless of which Laguz variant they descend from. Oh, and they can go on land if you combine Whale Songs with Dragon Dad's magic. But that doesn't happen very often. They connect the upper and lower parts of the seas, delivering different resources when needed, carrying messages, and just making sure everything runs smoothly. They're decently strong, but are relatively rare, and often need guidance on how to use any abilities inherited by their parents.
Aquatic Laguz anon, have fun with this.
These guys are also in the seas of our world because the DM really liked the idea. So thank you!

Chasm
There were creatures in the ocean. This, Yue had known all her life. Turtle seals, whale-walruses, koala otters… these were creatures everyone within the tribe was familiar with. Revered them, in a way. They gave her people food, warmth, clothing, tools. Every creature had purpose, and every purpose was thanked. Here, in the harsh, biting cold, their lives depended on it.
But there were other creatures. Stories of humans with fish tails. Translucent fins, scintillating scales, sleek, powerful muscles. They’d fascinated Yue when she was younger, and though there was enough evidence to prove these creatures were out there, most people went a lifetime without catching a glimpse of them.
Mermaids.
Every region of the world hosted them. Even in the bitter poles, they were there. Somewhere out there, at least.
Sometimes, Yue wondered if they led much more different lives than their land-dwelling counterparts.
Or, at least, Yue thought, as she clasped the betrothal necklace chained around her throat, if they led easier lives.
.
Ever since her engagement had been announced, Yue found herself wandering to the edge of the city to stare at the sunset, as if to count down the days of relative freedom she had left. It was peaceful outside of the towering walls, and the waters had always looked so pretty under the light of the setting sun.
“It’s my duty,” Yue said unconvincingly to the lapping waters. “I have to marry him. If I don’t, it will cause strife within the tribe. I have to. I must.”
The waters didn’t reply, of course.
“We can cooperate,” Yue continued. “My father wouldn’t have approved the betrothal if Hahn was unreasonable. I’m sure, at the very least, we can unite our interests in protecting the city.”
Below the waters, Yue thought she saw the shadowy mass of a seal animal flit briefly.
“The only reason my father would break the engagement is if Hahn did something truly terrible or if… I don’t know, he was accidentally killed during a hunt.”
A splash, and gentle ripples spread in a circular pattern. Yue smiled slightly. So she was correct; there had been an animal lurking within the waters.
“I shouldn’t say that,” Yue chided herself. “That’s horrible.”
.
Day after day, she returned to the waters, sometimes sitting in silence, sometimes talking about her day. More often than not, she’d unspool her thoughts about her impending marriage to Hahn. And without fail, the same animal she’d spotted that day would accompany her. She never managed to discern what animal it was, but she’d spy hints of it, from the dark mass travelling beneath the ice to the ripples and splashes it would make as if to agree with her words.
It was likely a large animal if the size of the splashes were any indication. She knew little else. Of its colouring, of its shape, of anything that could’ve given a hint as to what she was spilling her thoughts to.
One day, Yue had brought along a piece of raw meat, curious to see if it was a carnivorous animal. She’d tossed it into the water close to where she had seen the last indication of a splash before she returned home.
What a surprise it was to see the meat sitting on the ice the next day, completely untouched. As soon as she peered over the edge of the ice, a large splash caught her right in the face, the sound of a tail slapping against the water the only confirmation that it was the creature clearly miffed by her offering.
Raw seaweed? Tossed back.
Seal blubber? A tentative nibble taken out of a corner before it was left on the ice as well.
Finally, she brought a bowl of soup, setting it next to the water’s edge as if in offering.
The next day, an empty bowl greeted her.
It was amusing, in a way. Though Yue had to wonder what sort of high-intelligence animal had been keeping her company.
“What are you?” she finally asked after a week of leaving plated meals. “Who are you?”
A splash, and in the sunset, Yue stared, wide-eyed, as a long tail arched out of the ocean, water sluicing off glimmering crimson scales. It was nothing she had ever seen before. An indescribable beauty, almost otherworldly…
And then it was gone, slipping back into the water silently.
“Mermaid…” she breathed.
.
It was her secret, and it was supposed to remain her secret. Though the mermaid never fully revealed themselves, they seemed to be more comfortable with showing off their tail, lazily flicking it above the waves every so often or even giving her a glimpse as they dove into the depths.
Sometimes, if she was very lucky, she’d even see a flash of pale skin.
But she should’ve known that Hahn would grow curious. He’d been curious for a while, asking – no, demanding – to know where she ran off to at the end of every day.
She just hadn’t anticipated that he’d follow her.
“So this is what you’ve been doing every day?”
Yue paled, turning around to see Hahn pinning her with a fathomless stare.
“You’re giving our food to some animal?” Hahn scoffed. Then he seemed to remember himself, and a sickly-sweet smile spread across his face. “Sorry. I just meant, Yue, surely if you wanted to feed the animals, it’d be better to give them scraps instead?”
“They… have different tastes,” Yue managed.
“They’re just animals,” Hahn sighed. “They’ll be happy with bones. Besides, all animals are good for is for food and clothing. You know this, Yue.”
“They’re not…” Yue bit her lip. “Never mind.”
“Come on, let’s go.”
Yue reluctantly turned to head back with her fiancé, though not without gently setting the bowl of stew on the ice.
.
A week before the wedding, Hahn followed her out onto the ice again, this time with a spear.
“What are you doing with that?” Yue asked warily, hesitant to peer over the edge as she usually would.
Hahn smirked, flicking his hair out of his face. “Hunting. The wedding is in a week, and I’m supposed to provide the centrepiece of the banquet.”
“Right,” Yue said guardedly. “What are you planning on hunting?”
Her heart sank when Hahn approached the edge of the ice, the gleaming edge of the spear made sharper yet under the rays of the setting sun.
“I came out the other day at noon,” Hahn grinned. “And I saw something move underwater. It must’ve been your little friend. Red scales, too. There isn’t anything here that has red scales. Something that exotic would make our wedding the wedding of the century.”
“You can’t!” Yue protested. “That’s not a simple-minded animal, it’s… it’s…”
“It’s what, Yue?” Hahn asked, scanning the waters. “Come on, you can’t possibly think it’s a pet.”
“No,” Yue grabbed his arm, “but trust me when I say you can’t. Please, don’t do this. There are other animals that you can hunt, just not this one.”
Hahn’s eyes hardened. “Let go, Yue. You don’t know what you’re talking about. I knew I should’ve brought this up with your father. Do you even know what animal it is?”
“It’s not an animal,” Yue admitted. “Hahn, you can’t kill them.”
“Them?” Hahn echoed.
He was to be her husband, wasn’t he? It made sense to trust him, to divulge her secrets. How else was a relationship supposed to work? But reluctance stayed her hand, and she found herself at a loss for words.
“You can’t,” she repeated weakly.
And then, a trill.
Melodic, deep, crooning. Yue had heard many a song in her life. The greatest musicians in the Northern Water Tribe had sung at grand celebrations, fantastic orators reciting poems and stories of old. And yet none of them could compare to what she was hearing.
Hahn, on the other hand, was completely entranced. Enthralled in a way that was unnatural. Certainly not in the way he dropped his spear, stumbling closer to the edge, his eyes fixated on something in the water.
“Hahn,” Yue tugged at his arm, trying to shake off the reverie. “Hahn, get away from the water.”
“No,” Hahn murmured. “No. Let me go. I… I need to go to… I need to…”
Something, someone, crested out of the ocean. A head of brown hair, amber eyes, a proud nose. A man.
A man? Human?
No. A smattering of red scales crawled up the man’s neck, as crimson as the tail Yue had seen over the past few weeks.
Mermaid?
The man opened his mouth, revealing sharp teeth.
And then he sang.
Hahn tore himself out of Yue’s grip, diving into the water in a mad scramble. She shouted in alarm, reaching out for him, but her hand missed him by miles, and with a resounding splash, Hahn started desperately swimming towards the man.
And the man… the merman, dove towards Hahn, still trilling that haunting melody. It happened faster than Yue could comprehend. One moment Hahn was bobbing in the water, and the next, he was gone, dragged into the depths, not even a spread of blood in the water to indicate he was ever there.
Neither Hahn nor the merman resurfaced again.
.
She blamed it on a piranha shark.
Her father accepted the explanation after one look at her tear-streaked face. The rest of the tribe too believed her story after Hahn’s corpse was fished out of the ocean the next day, several bites taken out of him, piranha shark teeth embedded into the open wounds.
Too ambitious, she heard the warriors sigh as they dressed his body. He shouldn’t have tried to hunt a piranha shark. Land animals would have been easier. At least he’d have more of a chance on the tundra.
Two weeks later, Yue returned to the ice edge.
She hadn’t even needed to wait a minute before the man appeared before her, resting his arms on the ice. Amber eyes peered at her curiously, surprisingly warm for someone who clearly had no qualms drowning a person.
“Why did you do it?” Yue asked.
The merman lifted a brow in amusement. “He wanted to kill me.”
His voice was deep. It had no underlying musical quality to it, unlike that night. But Yue still remained wary, making sure she was more than an arm’s length away from the water.
“I was going to stop him.”
The merman hummed, tail flicking behind him. His fins were broad, powerful, sending a strong ripple with such a lackadaisical action. “Hmm. I’m sure.”
“I didn’t know mermen could be so violent,” Yue admitted.
At that, he perked up, grinning as if she had unwittingly told a joke that only he understood.
“Merman,” he repeated, chuckling. “How quaint.”
Then he trilled once more, and the same thrall from that night overtook her. But before she could attempt to shake it off, he vanished into the waters, leaving her alone once more.
She had an epiphany, then. The trills, the singing, the drowning…
She paled. How could she forget? Mermaids dominated the fantastical tales she adored, but there were other creatures out there. Other creatures that did not possess nearly the same innocent reputation mermaids did.
No, not merman, indeed.

The Beauty of the Butterfly Effect in TCF
The amazing thing about Cale's actions in TCF, is that despite his "selfish" (and I use that words very skeptically; just because you gain profit from helping people doesn't negate the good things you do) choices to change the story he read in "The Birth of a Hero", all of his actions actually make a bigger and better impact than Cale himself can even imagine.
And I'm not just talking about him saving the world from a 20-year-long war and the White Star winning.
Starting with Choi Han, who got demoted from the Main Hero to the Second in Command. Despite his obvious physical predisposition to take on the protagonist role, he's actually much happier as someone with less responsibility. By "stealing" his spotlight, Cale turned Choi Han from a depressed hero with the weight of the world on his shoulders, to a man who's learning leadership skills from the best leader there is: Cale.
Saving Raon from death had enormous consequences, not just for Cale's side chances of success but for the fate of dragons accross the continent. Even the World Tree mentoned how much Nature was shaken by this diversion from the original timeline.
Making Lock and Choi Han meet just a bit early changed the fate of his entire family, as well as the other Wolves they rescued from Endable much later in the story.
Saving Paseton, who discovered vital information, prevented the mermaids and Arm from taking over the ocean routes from the Whale Tribe.
Connecting with Toonka not only developed his character from a self-destructive brute into a decent leader, but also saved the entire Whipper Kingdom, which was supposed to lose against the Empire in a prolonged conflict.
Putting out the fire in the Jungle saved it from an even more terrible fate than it burning down: Cale unintentionally stopped Elisneh's plot to mind-control Litana and her warriors to attack the Whipper Kingdom.
Befriending Alberu changed the game completely, because Alberu was the one who connected Cale with the Dark Elves and the last Necromancer – who were absolutely essential for their victory against Arm and the White Star. They could have never won without them, even with dragons on their side. Not to mention how thanks to Cale, Alberu figured out a way to overcome the "curse" of the Sun God and got a weapon which could slay the strongest Unranked Monster.
Without Mary Cale couldn't have helped Hannah, who alongside Jack was also absolutely essential to winning against he Empire without a ton of people dying in a bloody revolution. And with Jack in charge as the new Pope, Cale basically made peace between the Sun Church and creatures with dark affinities.
And last but not least, by saving Ron and helping him bring back the Molan Household, Cale flipped the entire eastern continent's underworld upside down, since it was under Arm's control.
Basically, Cale action's had such a large impact it's hard to call it Butterfly Effect anymore – more like "HurriCale Effect", lol. No wonder he became a famous heroic figure across both continents. He single-handedly changed the entire world.
...Too bad Cale is allergic to self awareness 😂

I am also not mermaid anon, but what if mermaid Bella met Jacob? (Maybe he decided to cliff dive and hits his head and she saves him or something lol)
The time Bella was a mermaid.
Jacob Has Himself a Really Weird Time
Jacob's grown up with his tribe being perhaps a little too religious and a little too into these old tribal legends. As in, they seriously think the doctor next door is a vampire and refuse to go to the hospital because of it.
Jacob's dying, just dying, over this.
But the point is that he's been raised being told this sort of stuff and being expected to take it at least somewhat seriously.
Then he runs into a fish lady.
Holy shit, dude.
Jacob goes to tell his friends: he met a mermaid. They don't believe him and suspect what you do: he hit his head, miraculously washed ashore, and had a weird fever dream about sea ladies with naked breasts (a worthy fever dream indeed).
Jacob asks his dad, teller of spooky stories taken entirely too seriously, about the encounter expecting that at least he might take him seriously.
Billy does but seems... not as thrilled as Jacob.
Billy's never heard about this before and it could be benign, could be a hallucination, but it also could be trouble...
He asks Sam to check it out. Unfortunately, Bella's in the water and Sam both can't track in there and is not going in there by himself (no other wolves at this point) where this thing could potentially kill their tribe's only means of protection against the Cullens.
Hm.
Jaws Starring Billy, Harry, Sam, and Not Jake
There's nothing for it, they have to do it the old-fashioned way. Billy, Sam, and Harry hold several bake sales to fund renting an entirely too decked out fishing vessel with radar. They're going hunting for this thing.
Jake, meanwhile, has been looking for Bella too (Bella hasn't been too receptive to this and has stayed out of his way) and is now losing his mind that his dad looks like he's going out on a whaling expedition to kill the mermaid.
Come on dad! She's not a vampire!
The Cullens aren't vampires either!
DAD!
As the vessel goes out, Bella catches on though, and makes herself scarce. She leaves the Forks area. Jake still insists to anyone that will listen that mermaids are totally a thing.

Crash!
Baaaaaaaaang!
You watched the chaos going on outside your house from the comfort of your tank.
Okay, it’s Paseton’s house but it’s not like it matters much.
It’s almost been a year since you started living with the Whale Tribe. At first, everyone was apprehensive about the Whale Prince bringing you home. However, soon enough they considered you as part of their own.
They seem to have a misunderstanding that you and Paseton are dating though. Not that you knew about it.
“What’s wrong? You scared little bitch? Hmmm?“
You hear Archie taunt White Star and you couldn’t help but laugh.
“I wish I asked for some snacks…”
Chaos continued on the battlefield. The tank on the rooftop gave you full access to everything happening while simultaneously displaying you.
“So I just have to act like I don’t want to give this piece of paper since it’s from my mom? But it’s not really from her and this is just some bullshit document?”
“Exactly, just taunt them for a bit before giving it up.”
“But what if they want to take me with them?”
You asked Paseton as you clutch the fake document in your chest.
“They wouldn’t be able to get you out of our house even if they wanted to. I promise.”
Paseton reassures you. His confident gaze makes you have courage too.
“So that’s where you’ve been. I’ve been worried sick you know?”
White Star lied to your face casually. You couldn’t help but stick your middle finger at him.
“You’re not that great of a liar you fucker!”
…Maybe you’ve been hanging too much with Archie these days.
The masked man let out a dry laugh before his eyes landed on the document you were holding. How could it not? It’s under-water but it looks perfectly fine. That could only mean that it’s important.
“I see you’ve decided to betray your kind and join hands with the Whale Tribe. Say now my nephew, what’s that paper in your hands?”
“Nephew my ass! I told you stupid idiots that I’m not that desperate for a family to consider you as one.”
You dived down the tank and White Star leisurely followed you by going down the stairs. Yes, Paseton has essentially built an entire saltwater aquarium that has access to every part of his house. He said that this way you’ll be able to go anywhere you want in the house even while staying in the tank.
“Give that document to me and then we’ll go home together. How does that sound?”
Is this guy dumb or what? Just how many times do you have to say that you don’t want to be part of his cult before he gets it in that thick skull of his?
“This is my home you dipshit! And there’s no way I’m giving you this. Mom said this is important enough that it will unite the mermaids and the whales—”
You covered your mouth as if you’d accidentally spilt a big secret. White Star smiled, your “slip-up” just confirmed his suspicion that the document in your hand is connected to the one in Paseton’s pocket.
“That must be the bargaining chip you used so you could hide in here.”
‘Err not really… Wow, young master Cale was right, walk a few steps with this bastard and he’ll run a mile.’
The deposed mermaid prince accidentally showed astonishment in his face. Luckily, White Star interpreted it as his guess being the correct one.
“Give that to me, a child does not need such important things.”
“I’m in my 20s, I’m not a kid. Did losing every battle with Cale Henituse make you dumb or something?”
You swam back up to the rooftop where Paseton deliberately left an opening so White Star could snatch the document in your hands. Placing two hands on the edge of the tank, you hoist yourself up. Making it look like you’re trying to escape.
“Archie! Help me over here!”
The killer whale on the glacier looked at you and stood up to go help you. Just in time, you could see Sayeru snatch the document in Paseton’s pocket.
“It’s time for the missing prince to go home and fulfil his duties, no?”
“Ow! Let go of my hair! Go grab your own!”
White Star not only snatched the document in your hands, he also dared to grab you by the hair. It looks like he fully intends to drag you back home.
“That power is not here.”
“Power? What power are you talking about you bastard?”
You continue to struggle in White Star’s hold as he opens the document with one hand. Just when will Archie get here?
“...This is real. This looks like a real ancient text.”
The lunatic kept speaking to himself.
Sayeru, who heard that said lunatic, ordered the black mages to start casting the teleportation circle.
Okay, now you’re panicking a little. If Archie takes his sweet time getting to here you’ll be a goner.
“Hey! Give that back to me and let me go! Hwy are you even listening to me!?”
You frantically shout but White Star doesn’t say anything and just continues dragging you towards one of the teleportation circles.
“Oh no you don’t!”
“Took you long enough you stupid whale!”
“Is that how you speak to your saviour!?”
Archie snarled at you but you didn’t back down.
“Savior my ass! You sliced my beautiful hair!”
“That could’ve been one of your fins you brat!”
You two argued as you escaped from White Star.
“Are we not taking the mermaid with us?”
“We can get him another time. This takes priority.”
Paaaat!
Sayeru and White Star chatted as the teleportation circle did its thing and allowed them to escape the land of the Whale Tribe.
“My hair! Do you know just how hard I take care of it!?”
“It’ll grow back you crybaby!”
You and Archie are still arguing even as you arrive at where Paseton and the Whale King are.
“Are they always like this?”
Cale asked Witira after seeing your dynamic with the killer whale.
“I didn’t expect them to get along so well, my brother seems to have a headache though since the mermaid prince has been cursing more nowadays.”
Well, you and Archie really seemed to bond in your own ways so Cale lets the topic go. Instead, he focused his attention towards Witira and the approaching Clopeh.
“Are you okay?”
Paseton grabbed you from Archie so he could carry you in his arms. As soon as you were in his arms you rested your head against his chest. The movement was instinctual from how many times he has carried you.
No wonder why people mistake you two as a couple. Shickler personally thinks it’s just a matter of time before Paseton goes to him to say that his going to marry you.
“I was scared he was going to bring me back to that crazy place…”
You mumbled against the Whale Prince’s chest. The earlier spite you had now gone.
“I promised you remember? I told you that I won't let anyone take you away.“
“Yeah…”
Paseton stroked your badly trimmed hair. His gesture brings you comfort, you still feel a bit shaken up from earlier but being in Paseton's arms reminds you that everything is okay now.
If you asked your past self if they could imagine you feeling safe in the Whale Tribe Prince’s arm he’d probably look at you as if you’re insane.
And perhaps you are. But you wouldn’t want to change.

He casually answered before making eye contact with the others.
Rosalyn and Choi Han were staring at Cale. Their eyes easily revealed what they wanted to say.
‘Isn’t that different than the truth?’
Paseton then started to speak.
“Thank you very much, young master-nim. You helped us out again after saving my life last time.”
Cale still didn’t look back toward Paseton. He could see Rosalyn and Choi Han asking him with their gazes.
‘When did you save this person?’
Cale ignored their gazes while Rosalyn and Choi Han did not ask their questions aloud. In fact, Rosalyn opened her mouth to say something else.
“Young master Cale headed over here as soon as he learned of the information. We needed to quickly take care of the mermaid poison, but he thought we needed to let the Whale tribe know this information as quickly as possible.”
Cale showed his thanks with his gaze. This was the first time someone actually helped him pull off a scam. Choi Han just kept his mouth shut and stepped back.
“I see. I guess we need to bring over a mermaid corpse in order to get rid of the mermaid poison.”
“We will go ourselves.”
“Excuse me?”
Cale looked back at Paseton.
“We are going as well.”
There was something he needed to do.
Of course, the words coming out of Cale’s mouth were very different from his actual thoughts.
“There aren’t many of us, so we probably can’t participate in the battle, but we want to help out, even if it is just a little.”
But really, Cale was just planning on doing a hit and run.
Even that was enough.
