TCF Prompt 27

TBOAH AU - OG Cale and OG Archie

Cale Henituse died by the hands of the WS. In one universe he made a deal and exchanged souls with one Kim Rok Soo. In this one, instead of making a deal, GoD sends him to another timeline to be able to rest and not have to worry about anything ARM or WS related. In this world, he regressed to when he was 16(and was in the process of escaping the Empire. Perhaps he had been kidnapped? Was his family ok and why did he have ancient powers, including his moms??).

Somewhere along the way, he ends up running into Archie, who also like him, was on the run and had his soul sent to this world after he was killed(and oh, it was a horrifying death. turning blood into pure mana burning him from the inside out. Who knew a specific weapon was made just to take him down. Witira fully snapped after witnessing her last family members/commanders death/. She was so scary, that even the WS didn't enter those waters for a couple years).

Eventually, they learn that they had been considered missing(and MIA in Archie's case). Both had been captured 2 years prior and experimented on at some point during that time(Archie had terrible scars on his back, along with part of his phin missing in his whale form he had also had patches that showed some of his hide had been taken at some point. Just wait until Cale found out who on the black market bought whale hide...if Shickler didn't get to them first anyway. Cale had Ancient Powers forced upon his very thin plate. Luckily he and Archie had come across a water power that settled his plate, but he was will very weak. Both their immune systems were gone too.)

A couple months later, they run into the Molans. And all hell breaks loose.

Cale had acted as trash, but him getting captured and missing at 14 caused everyone to find out the truth, Cale is disappointed(Archie finds it hilarious)

Archie went missing on a mission(which was later found out caused by a mole/traitor). The whale's missed their chaotic commander. Especially his two childhood friends the royals Witira and Paseton.(Shickler sees him as his bratty kid too)

In tboah timeline, Cale and Archie teamed up on certain missions and to cause chaos. They got along surprisingly well after their first meeting, drove the heroes*cough Choi Han cough* mad.

In this AU, Cale and Rosaly are cousins. Choi Han is a knight protecting Crown Prince Alberu. They all become allies/friends eventually.

Archie became friends with Witira and Paseton when they were kids. Archie is a orphan, and does not get along with the other killer whales(some of the Whales are divided up into different tribes, the killer whales are not loyal to Shickler and do not get along with most other whales. They discarded and harmed Archie when he formed a friendship and later loyalty with Shickler's kids, His parents are unknown, but there are rumors his mother is a Lunar Whale and he is a half blood like Paseton..and that was why he was captured/betrayed in the first place).

The Lunar Whales were said to be able to swim amongst the stars. Blessed by the goddess of the moon, they are strong in mana, and were thought to be the best healers in the world, even more than those chosen by the sun god. None have been seen is so long they are thought to be nothing but a fairy tale. but perhaps it isn't?

The Molan family was never attacked and are still going strong. They and the Thames family have worked together for centuries, and Jour asked them to look after her son after she she passed away. They failed when he was captured, but Ron has made it his duty to insure he and his family never fail Cale again.

The Empire is the main 'enemy' but fighting is not the main plot. it's mostly just Cale and Archie learning to heal and rest, etc.

Cale and Archie still cause too much chaos tho. And lots of misunderstandings!

no romance, just lots of family feels, healing and shenanigan's.

I actually don't believe that Alberu has "multiple brothers and sisters". I think he just has the 2 brother we know of: Robbit and the unnamed 3rd prince.

Here's the reasoning:

This is a world where women have equal rights to inherit as men. We see multiple examples of this all over the TCF world: from Roan Kingdom where even the Stan family has running female competitors for the heirship, Molden Kingdom where two Princesses competed for the throne, the Jungle where Litana is the Queen, the Breck Kingdom where Rosalyn is the Crown Princess, the Whale Tribe where Witira is the heiress, despite having a younger brother... you get the picture. No sexism here, all people are equal for legal rights here.

...In other words, if Alberu did have any sisters, they'd be running competitors for the crown. I'm pretty sure that's the case.

So no, Alberu couldn't have female siblings, and he couldn't have more brothers, because then we would know about them being candidates for the throne.

Secondly; Zed (I can't believe I'm about to defend this guy...) is not as promiscuous as he might seem at first. Yes, he has 3 children, and by all evidence it seems like they all have different mothers. But.. that would mean he had a relationship with Alberu's mother – whom by all evidence he was in love with – followed by her death and a... rebound relationship, I would guess? We don't know what happened with Robbit's mother, she could have died too for all we know. But afterwards, Zed actually got married to the mother of his third child, and stayed married. So he had a bunch of relationships, in a relatively short time... But it's not like he had a whole harem or something: just because he had a "concubine" doesn't mean he had a whole court full of women. In political terms, a concubine is basically a girfriend. 3 girlfriends over a decade is not that extreme.

As for Zed killing his siblings in the fight for throne... that does explain why his family dynamics are so extremely messed up. The dude grew up in a pathological family, and continued the cycle of abuse.

I have a strong theory that the only reason why Zed even "favored" his third son was to level the field for his kids, thinking he was being "fair".

Think about it: Alberu had the "advantage" of being the oldest. So Zed handicapped him by publicly ignoring him and making him look "unwanted".

Robbit was in the middle, so Zed remained neutral towards him.

And the third Prince would have the hardest time in the fight for the throne, so Zed gave him his "favor" to put him at the same level as his older siblings.

...And there you have it. Zed basically pulled a Marquis Stan move. He made his children fight for the throne like gladiators in order to have "the best one win". He did that in the name of fairness, completely ignoring the fact that it made him both a terrible father and a terrible king.

The division of nobility during war time could have spelled disaster for the whole Kingdom. We saw how they all bickered over total nonsese at the war meetings, each faction trying to support a different prince for their own petty reasons. There was no unity among them the ruling class of Roan at all. Before Cale and Alberu united in their efforts – there was no clear leader. That should have been Zed's responsibility all along. He never even showed up.

Consider this: in the TBOAH timeline, if it wasn't for Alberu being such a fantastic leader he managed to keep Roan Kingdom together for 20 years of world-ending war, they would have all perished by the end of the first year when the Indomitable Alliance invaded – Choi Han or no Choi Han.

...Zed is awful, and even though I understand some of the many struggles he must have faced, I genuinely hate him for his decisions, or lack thereof. It's one thing to be a terrible father for the sake of the kingdom, or a good father and a bad king because of it... but BOTH?

Zed has no excuse. He really should have known better.

Now that I think about it, doesn't Alberu have like, a bunch of brothers and sisters? Then like, Zed had a lot of partners, though I suppose he only officially married the third prince's mother and the rest are concubines like Alberu's mother. So like, didn't Zed kill his siblings in the fight for throne? Or was it in another story? Did he like, ever think that his successor might choose his path and kill the rest of his kids and perhaps his own father too to sit on the throne?

And this third prince whom Zed favored, I was like, dying to know his name in the beginning. And Alberu's mothers name too. Then I just went like, if the third prince's name was like something long, complicated and hard to pronounce, wouldn't it be hilarious. I can imagine Cale's and Choi Han's reaction when they hear the name for the first time. Cake would just give up cuz it's too hard to say and he couldn't be bothered lol.

Back to the Crossman family. There are so many members there. Like damn. Wouldn't the tea within the family be quite juicy? Like, I can imagine all the family drama behind the doors? The public might not be aware of it, because they like to keep a good image and all. But I am very curious of all the sh*t happening within the palace. I've always thought about it from the day I've heard Zed have multiple kids from multiple women. When Cale hears all the drama, he'd be like, damn, I was right in thinking that nothing would do good if I get involved with you. He might enjoy the tea, but he'd be too scared to get his slacker life dream ruined.

Archie may be a chaotic lil shit, but he's the Whale Tribe's lil shit. Especially to three certain possessive Royals. And he's just about to learn how much. Archie doesn't do regrets often, but actually letting himself be injured and captured for this mission to do an inside job without telling anyone, prolly wasn't one of the best idea's he has had.

Really...he thought at watching Paseton's tight smile and the dead enemy in his hand, made him start to sweat a little, so much for the prince being the 'sane' one of the family...
