Sakura needed a break. She’d just finished her med school, but at the last minute decided her residency could wait a while. Crazy Ex-Girlfriend accurately conveying what it was like for me to graduate college into a professional world with no upward mobility but A WHOLE LOT of inspirational wall decorations. 🤣🙃🙃🙃
#original#worst part of college for me was the career fairs cause as far as I can tell there was no vetting process for what businesses were there#so I was really really strongly encouraged to go to these things by my parents and professors like every 6 months and it was like...#every single business there seemed to be offering either shitty exploitative low-paying jobs or soul-crushing low-level government work#I guess businesses that offer actually quality jobs just send out requests for applications - they don't send people to fairs at colleges#so it was an incredibly depressing and sobering time where all of this really aggressive inspirational rhetoric I'd been fed my whole life#just slammed up against this very uncomfortable reality#🎵 I AM THE MOMENT. THE MOMENT IS ME. 🎵 😬😬😬#there are jobs out in the world that don't suck ass but the job market is deeply fucked up in general in hyper capitalist america#and I was paying a lot of money to go to this fucking school that was supposed to set me up with a career!#what the FUCK were Teach for America (very exploitative) and canvassing jobs (even worse) doing at the jobs fair for a business school?!#sometimes college is a scam y'all#crazy ex girlfriend#cxgf#(okay well actually the worst part of college for me was the trauma but that was largely not the fault of the school)

also i would like to add that if you truly want a job that you’re “overqualified” for, just leave your degree off of your resume. there’s literally no law against it. i got my current job by leaving my degree off of my resume because i knew if I had more than a certain level of education, i wouldn’t get the job. figure out what the highest degree is you’d expect to find among people doing that job, and just delete everything above that. because the only person you’re supposedly financially screwing is yourself, by taking a lower salary than they THINK you deserve, and if you’re cool with that, they’re going to have to be, too.
#LateStageCapitalism
#some 'low-qualification' jobs pay really well#like garbage collectors#also i strongly encourage young people#to pursue trade school instead of college#if it interests them#because it pays better than getting a bachelor's degree#to become a mechanic or an electrician or something

i want more nuance to be entered into the discussion of the green girl sorority and how differently cynthia plays elphaba in comparison to those who came before her because while a lot of people are rightfully like "why was elphaba not black from the beginning" and celebrating that she is now being played by a black woman, i think we need to be careful in just writing off all the elphabas of the past as Random White Girls when the role was championed (and often followed/succeeded) by a jewish woman
the pop culture archetype of the Wicked Witch has deep roots in antisemitism stretching faaaar far back. there is a level of reclamation happening in casting idina menzel, a jewish woman, to play the Misunderstood and Maligned young girl who is branded as exactly that. and stage!Elphaba is also written and acted with jewish stereotypes in mind--she is loud, aggressive, no-nonsense, blunt. she is quick to advocate for herself and shut down the discrimination she faces. all of this is very intentional! her personality is abrasive from years of abuse, and that makes propagandizing her easy. this is literally the thesis statement of the musical--it's not about aptitude, it's the way you're viewed.
cynthia's performance of elphaba is fucking INSPIRED despite going in a completely different direction. she's much more reserved, analytical, one of her key character traits is how well she can read people (see her calling out Galinda as insecure/putting on airs in their first scene together, clocking that Fiyero is using his party guy persona as a shield for his own depression) elphaba's attempts to blend in and make herself smaller all fail simply because of her existence, if not that then because she feels empathy so strongly she often struggles to hold back from acting, protecting.
personality wise, though, cynthia's elphaba is very quiet and closed-off, not at all the bullet-to-the-face that she is in the stage show, and... she still gets propagandized and maligned. though this seems to contradict the other interpretation, it tells of the other end of the spectrum of propaganda, one that black women watching (and many, MANY other marginalized folks) are sure to identify with--it does not matter how "nice," how reserved, how small a black woman makes herself. a racist society will still scrutinize her every action for a way to parse ill intent from it, brand her as an angry black woman who is dangerous and wicked, and write off any humanity she has in the process.
these two very different interpretations tell of the lie of assimilation. the fact of the matter is, when you are marginalized, there is no way to sand down your edges enough to make the people oppressing you "accept" you. that is why wicked is a tragedy at its core. whether loud and aggressive or quiet and unimposing, there is nothing elphaba could have done to make the people of Oz see her as anything other than a scapegoat to blame all their problems on.
so while i definitely appreciate that people are excited for black girl era elphaba, i would encourage us all to still show appreciation for what came before--that was not white girl era elphaba. that was jewish girl era elphaba. two houses, both alike in dignity, two stories both worth being told.
#wordy wendy#wicked#wicked movie#wicked 2024#wendy rambles#wendy meta#honestly i get chills whenever im watching the movie#and it gets to 'her green skin is a twisted manifestorial of her true nature#' what a wham line. literally makes me sick to hear.

Our Nation has made tremendous progress in advancing the cause of equality for LGBTQI+ Americans, including in the military. Despite their courage and great sacrifice, thousands of LGBTQI+ service members were forced out of the military because of their sexual orientation or gender identity. Many of these patriotic Americans were subject to a court-martial. While my Administration has taken meaningful action to remedy these problems, the impact of that historical injustice remains. As Commander in Chief, I am committed to maintaining the finest fighting force in the world. That means making sure that every member of our military feels safe and respected.
Accordingly, acting pursuant to the grant of authority in Article II, Section 2, of the Constitution of the United States, I, Joseph R. Biden Jr., do hereby grant a full, complete, and unconditional pardon to persons convicted of unaggravated offenses based on consensual, private conduct with persons age 18 and older under former Article 125 of the Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ), as previously codified at 10 U.S.C. 925, as well as attempts, conspiracies, and solicitations to commit such acts under Articles 80, 81, and 82, UCMJ, 10 U.S.C. 880, 881, 882. This proclamation applies to convictions during the period from Article 125’s effective date of May 31, 1951, through the December 26, 2013, enactment of section 1707 of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2014 (Public Law 113-66).
The purpose of this proclamation is to pardon only offenses based on consensual, private conduct between individuals 18 and older that do not involve any aggravating factor, including:
(1) conduct that would violate 10 U.S.C. 893a, prohibiting activities with military recruits or trainees by a person in a position of special trust; (2) conduct that was committed with an individual who was coerced or, because of status, might not have felt able to refuse consent; (3) conduct on the part of the applicant constituting fraternization under Article 134 of the UCMJ; (4) conduct committed with the spouse of another military member; or (5) any factors other than those listed above that were identified by the United States Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces in United States v. Marcum as being outside the scope of Lawrence v. Texas as applied in the military context, 60 M.J. 198, 207–08 (2004).
The Military Departments (Army, Navy, or Air Force), or in the case of the Coast Guard, the Department of Homeland Security, in conjunction with the Department of Justice, shall provide information about and publicize application procedures for certificates of pardon. An applicant for a certificate of pardon under this proclamation is to submit an application to the Military Department (Army, Navy, or Air Force) that conducted the court-martial or, in the case of a Coast Guard court-martial, to the Department of Homeland Security. If the relevant Department determines that the applicant satisfies the criteria under this proclamation, following a review of relevant military justice records, the Department shall submit that determination to the Attorney General, acting through the Pardon Attorney, who shall then issue a certificate of pardon along with information on the process to apply for an upgrade of military discharge. My Administration strongly encourages veterans who receive a certificate of pardon to apply for an upgrade of military discharge.
Although the pardon under this proclamation applies only to the convictions described above, there are other LGBTQI+ individuals who served our Nation and were convicted of other crimes because of their sexual orientation or gender identity. It is the policy of my Administration to expeditiously consider and to make final pardon determinations with respect to such individuals.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand this twenty-sixth day of June, in the year of our Lord two thousand twenty-four, and of the Independence of the United States of America the two hundred and forty-eighth. JOSEPH R. BIDEN JR.

I'm not the most educated/well spoken on this topic, but I grew up in California, where suppressing and not control burning fires has had some awful results. Climate change has also impacted the absolutely ridiculous wildfires. The land there evolved *with* humans and human set fires and many plant species REQUIRE fire to exist, and fire helps keep invasive plants at bay. There are pine cones who only open under heat from fires and meadows vanishing because there's no fire or other tending done to them. The land needs us, and we are not separate or alien to it.
This isn't an exclusively Californian thing either, that's just where my knowledge base is the strongest, growing up always barefoot on the trails and learning everything I could, and where my mother has spent my entire life working in forestry and fire ecology.
#i very painfully obviously get my nerd from my mom lmao#also worth noting im just Some White Kid who has a love for the land and happens to have a mom with a cool career#ive learned a lot but am nowhere near an expert and i STRONGLY encourage you seek out more educated and well spoken people on the matter#if i remember ill post some starting points later#i learned like. a lot from all over the place though so pointing to one or five or even twenty things as my main sources is hard lmao#i learned a lot from talking to my mom and her coworkers and people i met through her and my own nature obsessed pursuits#there are some books and websites tho if i can use my memory lol#ill look around my laptop and book hoard later

Again, I strongly encourage people to do research on how the Nazi party explicitly attacked modern art as being pointless and a threat to "Western civilization" as a way to discredit Jewish artists and any artist who spoke against the regime and to push them out of society. Modern artists lost their jobs, were ostracized by the art community, and the few pieces that were kept on display in museums were often targeted in fascist and antisemitic attacks.
This isn't a conspuracy theory, it's a very well recorded fact and it had a huge influence on the development of modern art and society's view of it. You can't separate the current hatred of modern art from its origins in fascism and trying to just inevitably means that you're going to end up falling into that mindset.

Mr. Flanagan, I’d like to ask a question and I deeply hope that it does not offend or upset you. I am strongly considering canceling my Netflix subscription due to their new password sharing policy. However, Midnight Mass is one of my favorite shows of all time and I know it isn’t available on DVD, and I’m also profoundly anticipating your take on my favorite Edgar Allen Poe story. So I wanted to ask your take on people accessing your work through, uh, other means. If it’s something that’s offensive to you or will harm you or the other people who work so hard on these shows, I’ll happily keep my Netflix just so that I can keep supporting your work. I respect you far too much as an artist to do otherwise.
Again, I really hope I’m not upsetting you by asking this question. Thank you for everything, and I hope you’re having a great day!
(NOTE 6/4/2024: I'm editing this entry because, well over a year since it was posted, some journalists dug this up and used it to create click-bait headlines that are misleading, out of context and artificially combative. While I was of course disappointed over the years that Netflix opted not to release my work on physical media, I never experienced any hostility or aggression in those discussions, and I sincerely regret the manner in which this post was used in the press this week.)
Hi there - no offense taken whatsoever, in fact I think this is a very interesting and important question.
So. If you asked me this a few years ago, I would have said "I hate piracy and it is hurting creators, especially in the independent space." I used to get in Facebook arguments with fans early in my career when people would post about seeing my work on torrent sites, especially when that work was readily available for rent and purchase on VOD.
Back in 2014, my movie Before I Wake was pirated and leaked prior to any domestic release, and that was devastating to the project. It actually made it harder to find distribution for the film. By the time we were able to get distribution in the US, the film had already been so exposed online that the best we could hope for was a Netflix release. Netflix stepped in and saved that movie, and for that I will always be grateful to them.
However...
Working in streaming for the past few years has made me reconsider my position on piracy.
In the years I worked at Netflix, I tried very hard to get them to release my work on blu-ray and DVD.
It became clear very fast that their priority was subscriptions, and that they were not particularly interested in physical media releases of their originals, with a few exceptions.
While companies like Netflix pride themselves on being disruptors, and have proven that they can affect great change in the industry, they sometimes fail to see the difference between disruption and damage. So much that they can find themselves, intentionally or not, doing harm to the concept of film preservation.
The danger comes when a title is only available on one platform, and then - for whatever reason - is removed.
We have already seen this happen. And it is only going to happen more and more. Titles exclusively available on streaming services have essentially been erased from the world. If those titles existed on the marketplace on physical media, like HBO's Westworld, the loss is somewhat mitigated (though only somewhat.) But when titles do not exist elsewhere, they are potentially gone forever.
The list of titles that have been removed from streaming services is growing.
I still believe that where we put our dollars matters. Renting or buying a piece of work that you like is essential. It is casting a vote, encouraging studios - who only speak the language of money - to invest more effort into similar work. If we show up to support distinct, unique, exciting work, it encourages them to make more of it. It's as simple as that. If we don't show up, or if they can't hear our voice because we are casing our vote "silently" through torrent sites or other means - it makes it unlikely that they will take a chance to create that kind of work again.
Which is why I typically suggest that if you like a movie you've seen through - uh - other means, throw a few dollars at that title on a legitimate platform. Rent it. Purchase it. Support it.
But if some studios offer no avenue for that kind of support, and can (and will) remove content from their platform forever... frankly, I think that changes the rules.
Netflix will likely never release the work I created for them on physical media, though I'll always hold out hope.
Some of you may say "wait, aren't The Haunting of Hill House and The Haunting of Bly Manor available on blu-ray and DVD?" Yes, they are, because they were co-produced with Paramount, and I'm grateful that Paramount was able to release and protect those titles. (I'm also grateful that those releases include extended cuts, deleted scenes, and commentary tracks. There are a number of fantastic benefits to physical media releases.)
But a lot of the other work I did there are Netflix originals, without any other studio involvement. Those titles - like Midnight Mass, The Midnight Club, and the upcoming Fall of the House of Usher - along with my Netflix exclusive and/or original movies Before I Wake and Gerald's Game - have no such protections. The physical media releases of those titles are entirely at Netflix's discretion, and don't appear to be priority for the studio at this time.
At the moment, Netflix seems content to leave Before I Wake, Gerald's Game, Midnight Mass, and The Midnight Club on the service, where they still draw audiences. I don't think there is a plan to remove any of them anytime soon. But plans change, the industry changes.
The point is things change, and each of those titles - should they be removed from the service for any reason - are not available anywhere else. If that day comes - if Netflix's servers are destroyed, if a meteor hits the building, if they are bought out by a competitor and their library is liquidated - I don't know what the circumstances might be, I just know that if that day comes, some of the work that means the most to me in the world would be entirely erased.
Or, what if we aren't so catastrophic in our thinking? What if it the change isn't so total? What if Netflix simply bumps into an issue with the license they paid for music (like the Neil Diamond songs that play such a crucial role in Midnight Mass), and decide to leave the show up but replace the songs?
This has happened before as well - fans of Northern Exposure can get the show on DVD and blu-ray, but the music they heard when the series aired has been replaced due to the licensing issues. And the replacements - chosen for their low cost, not for creative reasons - are not improvements. What if the shows are just changed, and not by creatives, but by business affairs executives?
All to say that physical media is critically important. Having redundancy in the marketplace is critically important. The more platforms a piece of work is available on, the more likely it is to survive and grow its audience.
As for Netflix, I hope sincerely that their thinking on this issue evolves, and that they value the content they spend so much money creating enough to protect it for posterity. That's up to them, it's their studio, it's their rules. But I like to think they may see that light eventually, and realize that exclusivity in a certain window is very cool... but exclusivity in perpetuity could potentially limit the audience and endanger the work itself.

No, it's basic kindness? Like, mainstream etiquette?
1. Not all fanfic is meant to be an art piece meant to be critiqued and appreciated. When someone doodles as an adult or takes photographs for their Instagram story to show their friends, are these meant to be critiqued as art? When a friend shows you a recent drawing they do in their downtime do they do it asking for concrit and analysis? Not all photos and not all creations are offered for analysis and if you saw it in real life, its just basic social awareness.
2. A very common reason for why artists don't want this because in actual, real life settings you control direct critique you get to get it from those who actually can critique. Like, comments on AO3 is direct to the writer ths same way asking someone for their thoughts is. But in real life, artists do these workshops amongst peers (other artists, viewers who are the target audience) because artists know they are more likely to be qualified to analyze and are also able to factor in the context of analysis. Important on the axis of very local or representative works but also on genre and interest. There is no way to filter that for public posts. It is, frankly, not uncommon for random dude who obviously doesn't know shit to offer their criticism like its helpful and needs to be addressed.
Yes movies and books get criticism from people but they generally do not do this direct (eg via email or face to face) to the artist. Which brings me to my next point-
3. Comments are the most obvious place to not fuckijg do this but online public spaces is also rude because instead of general criticism not being something the author sees, its now in their comments and in the spaces they frequent. If you are any kind of artist or fan of artist, it is really really really fucking normal to not want to see the opinion of every Tom, Dick and Harry. It is an ungodly amount of thoughts, not useful and suffers from the fact that well! Not everyone is your target audience, everything can have divided opinions and its just not productive. You can do it via DMs and closed circles still, no ones stopping you.
But also
4. At the end of the day— fandom having bad opinions don't come from fanfic culture. I really, really doubt it. Fic writers remain a passionate but small minority, and even fic readers are not a majority of any fandom. Hardcore fic writing has existed for ages but rarely has fics been very mainstream to actually read, relative to all the viewers and readers of the original media. In addition, critical analysis and understanding have always seemed more tied in to the make up of fans. Like, I've found generally weaker fics and thoughts in fandoms where there are actually less long time artists and fans. Aka people who are generally not versed in critical reading coming into fandom.
And also like. If you are in any fandom thats like that. I genuinely don't know what youre doing because pointing out things you like/dislike seems.. Pretty normal. I see textposts of people going 🥺🥺🥺 over lines regularly. Comics and Star Trek do have a regular stream of people picking and choosing episodes/issues that are bad or not Correct and a number of those are widely debated.
Also in a communal space dedicated to anyone who likes a piece of media for any reason- yeah not everyone will act how you like or dislike/engage with media for the same reasons as you. Have you ever considered finding smaller communities or friends where you can get what you want? Like genuinely.
The fan fiction culture of "no criticism allowed ever ever ever!" has seeped into fandom culture in general, to the point that anyone who analyzes media is dismissed as pretentious and annoying and I'd just like to say: it sucks
#I didnt see the last addition and it annoys me so much#I also feel strongly on the not everyone with a comment is important to hear like#Sorry no#On the specific axis of me as a writer as well whos been focused on filipino stories as well lik#A not only is measuring my stories on diversity and inclusion via non filipino measures useless#Frankly non filipinos would not have the context or experience to even critique what im trying to communicate#I also tend towards like imperfect relationships and darker stuff#And while im open to critique they require critique with acceptance of my goals and baseline interests#Which just isnt universal#And there are plenty of people online who think the stuff i write is inherently bad#And yeah i do think encouraging the mindset that everything should be critiqued to people who may not knkw how or where to critique#Is always gonna be worst on the writers and artists who are already unpaid spending hours on works and sometimes grossly underappreciated#I cant help but feel the latest addition and maybe even the first is like#It comes from an understandable place but feels so needlessly callous#Do they know theres a number of initiatives on getting ppl to read amd leabe comments?#Like idk#Whatever

JULY REC FICS
Hello, my sweets!! I wanted to try something out to provide my full and utter support to all the amazing writers I've come across in the form of monthly rec fics (starting this month). “I FEEL LIKE GIVING UP, NOTHING IS WORKING”
ᥫ᭡Well then you need to listen to this…
When it comes to loa, specifically the void/“I AM”, reality shifting, permashifting and especially respawning, this is a topic that i feel very very very strongly about because i’ve been there, a lot of us have. Now im not here to give you some “magical method” that will get you to the void in the next nanosecond, because you know how to get to the void, i know you know how to get to the void. But here’s the problem:
You’re fucking wavering. That’s it. That’s the only reason
You come here for the thousandth time, read a million and one posts say “okay i get it, im REALLY gonna apply now”. You don’t see results in a day and then you come back to the app, asking why nothing is working. But please, please, please never give up, you can rage, scream, cry, but out of everything you can do never do that please. The fact that i’m begging you guys even when i don’t know you is saying enough, it pains me when i see you guys give up on the void/“I AM”. You were meant for this and you know it, why are you here? in this community reading this right now, because you knew you were meant for more, you knew there was more out there for you. Yeah a lot of people are coming to know about manifesting, but the void/“I AM”, not even 2% of the world knows about it, not to be so tough, but there are some people who don’t even have the access to even learn about this shit. YOURE HERE FOR A REASON, and i’ll be dammed if you give up because you keep going around this cycle.
You see those success stories you read a million times for motivation, do you wanna know where they come from, they come from people who have been kicked while they were down millions of times and decided "enough is enough", they've had enough of the world treating them this way, had enough of looking at other peoples lives with jealousy and they finally decided that they are doing this forreal and will not take no for an answer!!
You were meant for this, you’re a god and you can change your circumstances and situations in seconds, you can change the way you feel about the void/“I AM”. Though if you feel like you’re developing a toxic relationship with the void and reality shifting, i encourage you to take a break, as much as i want you guys to keep pushing, a deteriorating mental health state is not what i want for you guys. But please know that taking a break shouldn’t mean you putting your dream in a box and choosing to surrender to your shitty lives, moving through it like a zombie.
I will say this till i die: loa is a LAW, not a belief that can be speculated against or a superstition that can be doubted or proved wrong, it is LAW meaning it can never ever ever fail. everrr how many times do i have to say this, stand firm in the reality where you are a void master and there is nothing NOTHING that can stop it from coming into fruition because it is law.
Do i need to remind you guys who you are?? You WILL make it, i don’t think so, i KNOW so. Because you’re a god and whatever you say is law. Again, don’t make yourself a slave to your shitty situation. It’s not your reality because it isn’t real.
Hang in there love, your dream life isn’t far, don’t turn back now ☄️🌊💋💋

A strong mental & intellectual connection is often indicated by this overlay. The pair just seem to “get” each other. The Mercury person can have a profound impact on how the house person chooses to express themselves. The pair may also spend a lot of time talking about their personal projects, physical appearances, and identities. There’s a natural resonance and understanding between the two.

Mercury in partner’s 9th house
The 9th house is one of the most underrated houses in synastry. When someone’s Mercury falls into your 9th house, they have the potential to help you expand your beliefs & worldviews. This is an exceptionally expansive overlay, as the Mercury person can inspire you to travel or to pursue higher education. In some instances this overlay can indicate that you may eventually travel together. Ultimately, a 9th house synastry overlay indicates a relationship that encourages growth, expansion, and a desire to learn/explore together.
Mercury in partner’s 10th house
This is a wonderful overlay to have in a business partnership. However, in a romantic context, this overlay can indicate that the partners are likely to spend a lot of time talking about their careers, public image, and worldly ambitions. The pair can motivate and encourage each other to pursue their goals. Moreover, the Mercury person can encourage the house person to communicate more effectively about their ambitions & professional goals. Both partners in this union are likely to support one another’s vocational pursuits & professional growth.
Mercury in partner’s 11th house
Mercury in the 11th house in synastry is a wonderful placement to have as it suggests that the pair may spend time talking about their aspirations, shared goals, dreams, social causes, friendships, and networks. The two may have been connected by mutual friends, a community project, or shared interests. The Mercury person can encourage the house person to pursue humanitarian efforts or to expand their network. There is often a feeling of mutual acceptance between the two, as mercury in the 11th house fosters a relationship where both partners are likely to feel understood & values for their individuality.
Mercury in partner’s 12th house
When someone’s Mercury falls into your 12th house (vise versa) a highly spiritual & intuitive connection is often indicated. You may spend time talking about matters involving spirituality, mental health, and the esoteric. The Mercury person may have the unique ability to vocalize the house person’s thoughts and feelings. They may also encourage the house person to open up and express their subconscious desires & hidden emotions. Conversations between the pair are likely to be very deep and introspective. The pair may also travel together to “faraway lands” or it may just be that the mercury person encourages the house person to travel. Alternatively, it could just mean that both people are apt to want to explore their inner worlds as a result of this Union.

The Third Arcanum fosters a desire to nurture and protect, whether that means raising children, taking care of loved ones, or nurturing creative projects. For women, it highlights the importance of embracing their femininity and taking care of their appearance and overall well-being. The Fourth Arcanum in the Character Zone represents the core energy of leadership, strength, and responsibility. People with this energy embody traditional masculine qualities, including being protective, decisive, and strong-willed. Their sense of duty and the need to control their surroundings are central to their personality, driving them to take charge in life, family, and work.
These individuals often see themselves as leaders and heads of their household, naturally assuming responsibility for others. They are pragmatic, self-sufficient, and focused on achieving their goals. However, if this energy isn't harnessed positively, it can lead to issues such as over-aggression, an inability to accept help, or a tendency to dominate others in unhealthy ways.
The Fourth Energy pushes individuals to be the anchor in their family or community, taking on the role of protector and provider. Success and self-actualization for them come from accepting responsibility, being independent, and using their strength wisely.
5. The Hierophant

They may be seen as teachers or guides in their communities, embodying the role of those who preserve and pass on the wisdom of the past while creating new traditions.
This energy pushes them to continually grow in knowledge, ensuring that their learning is not just for themselves but also for the benefit of others. They are often driven by a need to make sense of the world, and this intellectual pursuit becomes a defining feature of their character. For those with Knowledge in their Character Zone, faith in something greater, whether it be in God, the universe, or simply in their purpose, is crucial to their personal growth and fulfillment.
6. The Lovers

People with this energy are driven by a deep desire to love and be loved, and this energy shapes their personality, making them charming, graceful, and often very attractive to others. They are naturally inclined towards socializing and forming connections, which they value highly in their lives.
One of the main lessons for individuals with this energy is to learn how to love themselves. The sixth arcanum requires them to focus on self-acceptance, as their ability to love others and attract love from others stems from their capacity to embrace their true selves. When this energy is well-balanced, it radiates beauty, emotional maturity, and honesty, allowing these individuals to build harmonious relationships with those around them.
In the Character Zone, this energy often presents challenges with decision-making, as people with this arcanum may struggle with choices in life, both big and small. However, once they learn to confidently make decisions and love themselves without constantly seeking validation from others, they unlock the full potential of this energy.
7. The Chariot
The seventh arcanum represents a driving force of action, speed, and achievement. People with this energy in their Destiny Code Matrix are natural achievers, constantly striving to move forward and hit their goals. They thrive on action and momentum, always feeling the need to progress, and can be frustrated by anything they perceive as slowing them down.
This energy provides immense stamina and drive, pushing them to act swiftly and decisively. However, Sevens must ensure they have clear goals, as aimlessness can lead to chaos and restlessness in their lives. When they have a target in mind, they excel at focusing all their energy toward reaching it.
In the Character Zone, this energy shapes a person who is always on the move, both mentally and physically, and motivates others around them to take action as well. Their strength lies in their ability to inspire movement and create momentum, but they must also learn to balance their speed with thoughtfulness, ensuring they don’t rush blindly without considering the consequences.

Their sense of justice drives them to take responsibility seriously, whether in relationships, work, or personal matters. They thrive in situations where there is structure, law, and clarity, and they often pursue roles that require a strong ethical foundation, such as in legal or official capacities.
However, the energy of Justice can also become rigid if not balanced. These individuals may struggle with flexibility and may become overly principled or stubborn. Their focus on responsibility can lead them to overwork or become emotionally disconnected from others. It is important for them to find balance, allowing room for emotional expression and adaptability while maintaining their strong sense of justice and duty.
9. The Hermit
Arcanum 9, known as The Hermit, represents self-sufficiency, wisdom, and depth. Those with the energy of the Ninth Arcanum in the Character Zone are introspective and often prefer solitude. People with this energy are self-reliant and do not depend on others for validation or support. They value independence and may appear distant, but this is due to their focus on inner growth and wisdom. They are driven by a desire to uncover deeper meanings in life and often engage in intellectual or philosophical pursuits.
However, the energy of The Hermit can sometimes lead to isolation. These individuals may struggle to connect with others, believing that their depth of thought sets them apart. It is important for them to strike a balance between solitude and social interaction, allowing themselves to share their wisdom without becoming entirely withdrawn.
10. The Wheel of Fortune
Arcanum 10, known as The Wheel of Fortune, represents cycles, luck, and fate. Those with the energy of the Tenth Arcanum in the Character Zone are deeply connected to the flow of life and destiny. They are often seen as adaptable and open to change, understanding that life is full of ups and downs, and they are meant to ride these waves with ease.
People with this energy tend to go with the flow, trusting that life will take them where they need to be. They are often lucky and find themselves in favorable circumstances, seemingly by chance. However, they must learn to trust in this process and not resist the natural cycles of life. Their path is one of surrender to the greater forces at play, allowing fate to guide them.
At times, the energy of The Wheel of Destiny can lead to unpredictability. These individuals may struggle with control, wanting to direct their lives but needing to accept that much is beyond their influence. Finding peace in the uncertainty and embracing the cyclical nature of life is essential for their growth.
11. Strength
Arcanum 11, known as Strength, represents labor, energy, and effort. Those with the energy of the Eleventh Arcanum in the Character Zone are endowed with immense potential and power. They possess an extraordinary capacity for hard work and can achieve anything they set their mind to with dedication and effort. This strength is both their gift and their challenge, as it requires self-control and direction to prevent it from becoming overwhelming or destructive.
People with this energy are driven by a need to succeed through effort and hard work. They often face more demanding life tasks than others and are compelled to take on challenges that push them to their limits. Their strength manifests both physically and mentally, giving them the endurance to persist where others might give up. Elevens often thrive in roles that require leadership, responsibility, and the ability to motivate others.
However, the energy of Strength can become problematic if not channeled properly. When left unchecked, it can lead to aggression, domineering behavior, or even burnout. Elevens must learn to balance their energy by finding productive outlets for it, ensuring that their strength serves to uplift rather than oppress. This balance is crucial for their personal growth and fulfillment.
12. The Hanged Man
Arcanum 12 represents service, altruism, and creativity. Those with the energy of the Twelfth Arcanum in the Character Zone often find themselves drawn to helping others, sometimes at the expense of their own needs. They have a natural tendency toward self-sacrifice, often taking on the role of the giver or caretaker in relationships and life situations.
People with this energy feel a deep need to be of service, motivated by their strong sense of empathy and compassion. They may devote themselves to causes, volunteer work, or helping others in various ways. Their altruism is genuine, as they are often more focused on the well-being of others than their own personal gain.
However, the energy of Sacrifice can become complicated. In its negative expression, Twelves may adopt a "victim" mentality, feeling powerless or overly dependent on others. They might also become trapped in self-pity or martyrdom, struggling to balance their own needs with those of others. It is crucial for them to recognize their own worth and learn to say "no" when necessary, to avoid falling into patterns of self-neglect.
13. Death
Arcanum 13, known as Death, represents transformation, the end of the old, and the beginning of the new. Those with the energy of the Thirteenth Arcanum in the Character Zone are driven by constant change and the need to let go of the past to make way for new growth. They often experience several phases of transformation in their lives, embracing the idea of renewal and starting fresh.
People with this energy are natural transformers, capable of shedding their old ways, thoughts, and relationships to become something new. They thrive on change, and for them, it’s essential to release what no longer serves them to open up to new opportunities. This can make them appear mysterious and unique, as they are not afraid to embrace the unknown or move forward when others might hold back.
However, the energy of Death can also bring challenges. When out of balance, Thirteens may struggle with letting go, holding onto the past or clinging to material possessions and old memories. Their fear of change or attachment to the familiar can block their natural energy flow, leading to stagnation. Learning to accept endings as a necessary part of life and embracing the cycles of transformation is crucial for their growth.
14. Temperance
Arcanum 14 represents balance, harmony, and patience. Those with the energy of the Fourteenth Arcanum in the Character Zone are characterized by their calm demeanor, refined manners, and ability to find the middle ground in any situation. They are patient, tactful, and always strive for peace, preferring to take a measured approach to life.
People with this energy have an innate ability to stay grounded and avoid extremes. They value quality over quantity and prefer simplicity, whether in material possessions or relationships. Their life path often requires them to seek balance and compromise, patiently working through challenges rather than rushing or forcing solutions.
However, if out of balance, Fourteens may struggle with impatience, becoming argumentative or stubborn. They may lose their usual calm and find themselves overwhelmed by indecision or mood swings. To thrive, they must embrace their natural inclination toward harmony, learning to act with patience and moderation in all areas of life.
16. The Tower
Arcanum 16, known as The Tower, represents destruction, growth, and reconstruction. Those with the energy of the Sixteenth Arcanum in the Character Zone are destined for intense experiences, often facing abrupt changes or sudden upheavals. They live eventful lives, filled with challenges that force them to rebuild and adapt, whether in their careers, relationships, or personal endeavors.
People with this energy are natural builders and planners, always striving to create something substantial. However, they must also learn to accept that the structures they build, whether literal or metaphorical, may collapse unexpectedly. This constant need to rebuild teaches them resilience and the ability to grow from their trials. The Sixteenth Arcanum pushes individuals to embrace change, accept failure, and start anew with greater strength and insight.
However, if this energy is not balanced, Sixteens may struggle with fear of failure, avoid taking risks, or experience recurring losses. They might find themselves in a cycle of building only to see their efforts crumble. To thrive, they must embrace the process of growth, understanding that destruction is a necessary part of their path toward creating something stronger and more resilient.
18. The Moon
Arcanum 18, known as The Moon, represents genius, magic, and insanity. Those with the energy of the Eighteenth Arcanum in the Character Zone possess an extraordinary ability to manifest their thoughts into reality, for better or worse. This energy is deeply connected to mystery and illusion, as the Moon reveals hidden truths, unspoken fears, and subconscious desires.
People with this energy are often introverted and live in their own world of imagination and intuition. They are gifted with powerful creative and psychic abilities, but must be careful, as their fears and negative thoughts can also materialize. The key challenge for Eighteens is to gain mastery over their inner world and harness their magical abilities in a positive and constructive way.
If this energy is not controlled, it can lead to self-deception, illusions, or even destructive behavior. These individuals may struggle with mental instability or difficulty distinguishing between reality and their fears. However, when balanced, the energy of The Moon allows them to tap into profound wisdom, creativity, and spiritual insight, making them true visionaries in the world.
20. Judgement
Judgement symbolizes family, patriotism, and vocation. Those with the Energy of the Twentieth Arcanum in their Destiny Code Matrix are called to uphold honor, dignity, and family values. This energy is deeply connected to resolving ancestral karma, mending family ties, and restoring the bond between relatives. The ultimate goal for Twenties is to elevate their family line and fulfill a higher purpose tied to their lineage.
The Twentieth Arcanum is about purification and renewal, urging individuals to restore justice, preserve their homeland’s traditions, and remain devoted to their family and country. People with this energy must guard their family’s honor and never speak ill of their kin or homeland. Doing so weakens their energy, blocking their path in life and bringing harsh karmic trials.
Those with Judgement energy often find themselves as protectors and advocates for their family, standing firm in their principles. Their duty is to defend what is right, ensure justice is served, and bring unity to their family. They thrive when they devote themselves to a cause larger than themselves, making significant contributions to their family, community, or nation.
22. The Fool
The Fool represents freedom, spontaneity, and living in the present. People with this energy are often open-hearted, optimistic, and full of childlike wonder. They are unbound by societal expectations, living their lives in the "here and now" without overthinking consequences. Their approach to life is often light-hearted, and they tend to see the world through the lens of innocence and joy, preferring simplicity over complexity.
The Fool, however, can struggle with responsibility, making them vulnerable to being easily manipulated or caught in negative situations like addiction or recklessness. Their love for freedom and thrill can sometimes lead them astray, causing financial and personal instability. Despite these challenges, Fools can live incredibly fulfilling lives when they learn to balance their free spirit with some form of structure or grounding.
In relationships, they value independence and are often drawn to partners who allow them to roam freely without heavy obligations. They seek playful, light, and passionate relationships but can easily walk away if they feel restricted. Their karmic lesson is to learn to enjoy freedom without hurting others, remain grounded in reality while maintaining their joyful nature, and embrace responsibility when necessary.
