I'm making a little project for a video on my youtube channel. Retelling the events before Dreamtale's corruption, little moments where nightmare and dream just lived peacefully. I've never seen them do or try to do something like that, they've at least made comics, but it's never been Dreamtale's own canon. I'd like to try it, maybe I won't do it completely well, I'll try to be as faithful to the canon as possible. Thanks to all of you for the huge support I've received here with you as my little English community❤️‍🩹, I appreciate it a lot. I'll be making new drawings, comics and other projects. ost of my alternate universe of my oc, among others. I would really appreciate it if you would support me for this project on my youtube channel, it would be very helpful. Stay tuned.😋💕

Soooo? Uhm, first of all you have a really cool design for Nightmare…..wait what was I doing- oh yeah! Right! Do you have like a specific story interpretation of the DreamTale incident/Apple incident or Headcanons for it? If so what are they? Have a good timezone!
Thank u!
Yes, yes I actually do.
First of all, it's probably worth starting with the fact that I don't distinguish a passive Nightmare from its destroyed version. For me, Nightmare is one complete character. Broken by his anger, resentment and hatred.
For me, the apple incident is not a one-day event that instantly made Nightmare spiteful towards Dream and everyone else. His corruption lasted for years. So did his hatred. It couldn't have appeared literally in one day.
Nightmare has been rejected by society all his life. All his life he has received only hatred and contempt. That's why he grew up like this. He became withdrawn, unfriendly and venomous even to those who treated him well. I don't think all the villagers in Dreamtale were terrible. Just because Nightmare was used to being treated terribly, he began to reject any support and attention. Just because he didn't trust anyone else.
As time went on, he became as angry, greedy and envious as the society in which he grew up. He began to argue with Dream more often. And avoided him as much as he tried. And I think that by the time of the apple incident, they were already in some kind of quarrel. Which only pushed Nightmare to prove that he is just as good if not better than Dream.
I don't think Dream was blind and ignored what the villagers were doing to his brother. He was a child. He didn't know what to do. He was naive and tried to solve the problem peacefully. To try and make everyone apologize to each other. However, none of the parties wanted to take the first step. Not the villagers nor Nightmare.
Then, of course, the plot goes according to the canon. However, Nightmare did not intentionally kill the villagers of Dreamtale. At least those who attacked him. It came out spontaneously, as he still did not know how to control his abilities yet and was absorbed by all the negative emotions that had accumulated in his soul.
You know, like in that African saying. "A child who has not been warmed by the village, will burn it to the ground to feel its warmth".
Dream, seeing how his brother, covered in blood, towered over the corpses, was in utter horror and shock. He didn't want to fight back then, but there was only one thought in his head.
To protect.
He felt that this was his duty. Holding a golden staff in his hands, he stood against Night.
It made Nightmare extremely angry. After all he's been through. The humiliation, the pain, the resentment, the loneliness. And his brother doesn't take his side anyway. Of course, he was furious and got overwhelmed by his anger and attacked Dream.
And the brothers confronted each other in battle. You already know the end. Dream turned into a stone.
And here I don't really like the scenario that Nightmare just leaves Dreamtale and never comes back. I think as soon as Dream turned into stone, Nightmare immediately regretted what he had done to the only person who truly loved and believed in him.
I think Nightmare made numerous attempts to find a way to bring his brother back to life, tried everything. He talked to him, mourned for him, asked for his forgiveness, begging him to come back. But nothing was working.
However, as the years passed, Nightmare’s soul hardened. He began trying to find more and more excuses for the accident of which he was guilty. Excuses for his burning hatred. With every year his memory faded a little. Nightmare came back to his brother’s statue less and less.
He began to explore the worlds. Other Universes. And study each one with passion. He began to absorb the vices of monsters and humans. And even getting acquainted with them.
No one out there knew anything about him anyway. No one knew about his pathetic past. They only knew that he was strong and incredibly dangerous.
I think that's how Nightmare began to feed on negative emotions. First, by visiting purely negative worlds. And soon after he grew an interest in changing the course of the history of other AUs in order to turn them to the dark side.
He began to revel in his own power and the opportunity to play with other people's lives. You bet, he did! He was no longer a vulnerable child, unable to stand up for himself. He was a monster. The very thing people believed him to be.
Nightmare at this point considered himself almost a god and an omniscient being, whose abilities and intelligence are beyond the comprehension of ordinary mortals.
I think at some point his hatred reached its limit. And he returned to Dreamtale only to kill the remaining inhabitants and destroy the offerings they had left for Dream. Putting an end to this chapter of his life for himself. (as he initially thought).
He decided that at all costs he would make the world respect him. Fear him.
But when Dream got out of the stone, Nightmare's plan went wrong.
For the first time in hundreds of years, brothers met again. And they fought again.
After all, Nightmare understood that Dream would never allow him to gain domination over the Multiverse. And Dream, because his memory loss after many years in stone, initially thought that his brother died a long time ago. At first, he even refused to believe that this bloodthirsty and purely evil creature could be his brother. But even when he put up with this fact, he didn't give up hope. Maybe his brother will come back one day.
Personally, I like to think that it took another hundred or two years for Nightmare and Dream to come to terms with the current situation in the world and form some kind of truce. Where everyone has a certain number of universes under their patronage. Because both Dream and Nightmare will die without feeding on positive/negative feelings.
I also like to think that each of them has a certain number of allies across AUs, who provide them with information about other Universes and help maintain balance.
For example, Nightmare has a certain number of kings and rulers under his patronage, whom he helped ascend to the throne, as well as Multiverse bandits or murderers ravaging the worlds. He did this in exchange for the fact that they would arrange tyranny in the worlds where it was needed, supporting him and providing sources of negativity for him.
And in fact, Dream can't do anything 'cause technically speaking, a tyrant, ruling over his world and making it full of negativity and pain, is an unfortunate combination of circumstances, and not the work of Nightmare.
Dream's situation is similar. The fact that somewhere in the worlds the situation suddenly changed from conditionally bad to good is not always his doing. Sometimes it's just the way things are. Which sometimes is very convenient.
Oh don't get me started with AUs which have different endings or are dependent on players' decisions. This Universes are even harder to control. Or help them. Or corrupt.
I honestly don't really like it when people make a saint without a single flaw out of Dream. Yes, he is kind, merciful and resolute. But sometimes he acts solely out of his own interests.
For me, for example, it has always been a question, why does Dream protect only positive worlds? Yes, they give him strength and he is obliged to protect bright feelings. And he could not stay for long in negative worlds. However, don't other universes deserve his salvation? Can't he give them good things too?
Makes him a bit of a hypocrite, don't you think? He chooses to bring hope only to those universes that are easiest to help. Which I don't really like, to be honest.
In my headcanon he and Nightmare have formed a small alliance to keep the balance in the Multiverse. No matter what anyone says, I just like this concept. Our world has always been and will always be ambiguous. Just like conditional good and evil.
Of course, this does not justify Nightmare’s actions in any way. In the end, everything he does is hard to call "virtuous".
However, both he and Dream realize that they are unable to win. For time being they are playing some kind of mind games, trying to take control over different AUs.
Also bear in mind he fact that Universes are constantly being created and destroyed. Therefore, both Dream and Nightmare try to protect the sources of emotions closest to themselves. But the situation is different for both of them.
Dream, who is unable to help everyone and is forced to enter into unprofitable alliances with Nightmare, often blames himself for not being good enough. No matter how much he tries to help, there will always be those who want to take advantage of his kindness. It's hard for him to get used to the idea that sometimes you need to be rude and tough in order to be able to defend your ideals. For which, by the way, in many Universes he does not have the best reputation. Many blame him for still not being able to defeat Nightmare. It all falls heavily on him and sometimes makes him give up.
Nightmare who lived for a long time tries to find stability in everything. He rarely has random outbursts of anger and hate. He learned to control them. He learned how to manipulate others in order to get what he wants. He is smart when it comes to persuading people or forming alliances.
The image of Nightmare is very special to me. He's my favorite. However, not his canon version, but a certain image that I have created for myself.
I like to think that Nightmare is ambivalent, like the dark side of the moon, which he is desperately trying to hide.
He is proud and narcissistic, hates when someone restricts his freedom, but at the same time hates himself for the mistakes of the past.
He justifies his bloodthirstiness, saying that the world made me like this. But deep down he understands that he is the one to blame for everything that happened.
He dresses glamorously, hides behind the status of a king, treating everyone around him as his pawns. At the same time, he is weak and is in constant chronic pain.
He considers bright feelings and any manifestation of them as a weakness. But at the same time, he himself experiences them in relation to his subordinates.
He is smart and cunning, but his knowledge of the world is limited by his own interests. He doesn't understand simple things. Such as sincerity and care. These are strange concepts for him.
He considers himself omnipotent and omniscient. He loves solitude, but at the same time he wants at least someone to feel his pain.
He says he hates Dream. Constantly tries to mess with him, to make him suffer. But deep down inside, he misses him madly, because he knows that Dream is the only one who still has not lost hope and believes in his redemption.
He longs for love. Simple and sincere. He desperately wants someone to be with him. But he understands that no one in their right mind can love him.
My Nightmare is made of contradictions. He's a pathetic hypocrite. Remove his mask and you will find a lonely broken creature behind it.
That's who Nightmare is to me. He can get better, he can try to let go of the past and start helping people. But he won't. Because he lacks fortitude. He is afraid to go down the same road as he did in his childhood.
Dream and Nightmare have always been and will always be opposites in all aspects.
Dream is soft on the outside, but his soul is strong and noble. Nightmare seems hard and inaccessible, but inside he fears everyone and unsure of himself and his abilities.
Dream has found support and care. Nightmare has found pain and disappointment.
Dream is in pain, but knows that those around him do not deserve it and will fight for it. Nightmare is also suffering, but blames everyone else for his pain except himself. And he enjoys the suffering of others while hiding his own insecurity and hatred towards himself.
They will always be like that. Like Yin and Yang. Like night and day. Like life and death. Like… Well, you get the idea.
While I was writing it, this picture literally appeared in my head. So them actually.
Tumblr media
Now my favorite part.
The design.
I came up with the design for Nightmare about two years ago. I've been drawing him like this ever since. The reason is stupid and simple. My love for the dark gothic vampire aesthetic, so Nightmare is dressed like a dark vampire lord or something.
I have problems with his canon design. And it seems a little strange to me that his color palette changed very abruptly after the apple incident.
Dream has a good design. Bright yellow and orange are attractive and symbolize hope he brings. The green details in the form of straps symbolize life. And the black suit under his clothes is like the pain he hides behind a bright image. You can cast an eye on Dream and immediately understand who he is. His palette tells us a little story about him. He looks like a real archer, who is quite fragile, but fast and agile. Its design serves as an element of the narrative, and I love when creators do it.
And Nightmare... Eh. I do not know why he began to look like an ordinary Sans doused with oil.
This, in my opinion, unfortunately kills his tragic story completely. I heard somewhere that he looks like this to blend in with his surroundings. And if he goes to make a massacre in another universe, everyone will blame Sans, not him. This is very strange, because, firstly, I am not sure that all AUs have a Sans as such.
And secondly, seriously? Would you confuse your acquaintance/friend with a goo with tentacles? I don't find it believable.
Thirdly, he has the opportunity to transform into anyone. Why would he pretend to be Sans, if he could become a random unknown monster, kill everyone and flee. And trick everyone, so that even according to the description of that poor AU survivors, Dream could not understand that it was actually his brother.
So my Nightmare is a little different. Purple is still his primary color. After all, it is the color of mystery, power and pride. As you know, many royal figures have worn it, which highlights the image of Nightmare as a king. He also wears a huge coat, whose long sleeves to match his vectors. And the heels. Of course he wears them. Also I headcanon that he intentionally makes himself taller. So as to look down on everyone else. Silver plaques are the opposite of Dream's golden tiara.
I really want to think that my design for Nightmare reflects his character at least a little. When you look at him, you could say, yes, he looks like royalty. Yes, he looks stately. Yes, he looks both mesmerizing and intimidating.
He needs to evoke horror mixed with reverence, respect and admiration.
P. S. This took me a couple of hours to write. I apologize for any mistakes I could have made.

Time to ramble I suppose
Y'know I'm pretty well versed in the canon stories of the major players of the fandom (Ink, dream/NM, Error, Core frisk, etc) and I've been stuck thinking about something I had thought of when thinking about dreamtales canon. Specifically the 3 (technically 4) endings.
The one I wanted to talk about was the bad ending, in which corrupted nightmare kills dream and the entire multiverse is plunged into eternal negative damnation because without the golden apple (that became dreams soul) no positive emotions can exist.
The real question is, what happens afterward? Does corrupted Nightmare just pull an error and try to off itself because its No.1 job has been completed? (It wouldn't btw as it basks in negativity, and even if it wanted to it couldn't because only positivity (from dream) can kill it. ) Joku’s only touched the surface level of this ending and it could be so fascinating to explore
Now I ask you, what happens to the others? Like for Ink… all the scripts are ruined. I understand that in some respective canons all Au’s that are meddled with wind up creating an alternate that's never been affected, but since error’s existence is canon in dreamtale and that’s where that rule comes from wouldn’t that mean that the whole negativity thing wouldn’t happen?
*INSERT LOUD INCORRECT BUZZER NOISE*
WRONG! Because dream and nightmare aren’t even made up of coding, so their magic doesn’t follow those rules (Check underneath the line to hear my tangent on that), and even if it did, the apples control the ENTIRE MULTIVERSE’S EMOTIONS, so now matter how many times an au splits itself in an attempt to try and stay the same, the fact that all positive emotions are gone means that every person in the entire multiverse can no longer feel positivity. They no longer can love, or love each other. They will never feel joy again because the last golden apple is the last one, and its gone forever.
And Ink and Core Frisk seem to be the only ones who can.The sole reasons being inks vials are his emotions and frisk’s body and just everything about them doesn’t work like a normal person would. What are they going to do now?
This is where it turns into a horror story for the both of them, because everyone else will either kill others or uh, kill themselves in this multiverse. Ink now has no purpose because all the scripts are permanently ruined, there's no way to fix them, nor would creators stick around in a multiverse filled with only negativity. There would be no development for their character because most tales call for positive emotion to be present in order for that to happen. Without that, the only thing people are going to do is sink deeper into despair with no chance of changing. The only ending for them would be either them killing others and/or eventually themselves. Sure, you could argue the fact that there are a bunch of creators who enjoy dark tales, but even then there's a chance the newer Au’s wouldn’t last more than a few minutes before becoming unstable and collapsing because of the amount of negativity in the multiverse.
I think people forget that Corrupted nightmare, even with Dream still around, has enough negativity to nuke an entire AU to oblivion. A lesser known fact but still jarring to say the least.  Because of that, any place that thing goes means all the Au’s around it would just unravel under the pressure of so much negativity. Wouldn’t put it past the corruption to purposely head to newer/existing Au’s for the sole purpose of watching ink suffer emotionally as his presence annihilates the AU’s. And if the mechanics of the multiverse say that newer Au’s are the weakest, then ink’s going to have to say adios to those Au’s and the creators because no way are they sticking around when there are better multiverses out there.
Not only that, but Zephrytale would suffer as well. Even though they're out of reach for basically everyone, they still exist within the multiverse and the apple's influence spans beyond protective coding. So ink trying to keep his parents safe from themselves and each other (which works both ways because their alternate versions of themselves- g-get it?) would become the only job he would have.
Core frisk on the other hand would have no choice but to watch their home crumble as the safe haven known as the omega timeline is no longer safe. Their family such as their adopted children, poppy, dusty, and rust aren’t safe either. You could argue that rust is pretty safe due to being a robot, but it wouldn’t change the fact that he could be snatched and harmed just to hurt core frisk emotionally, nor does it mean that rust is immune to dying or losing it watching his home sink into depravity.
Both Core Frisk and Ink would have no choice but to stay inside a broken multiverse,This is a literal nightmare for the both of them, and they can’t escape it either. Neither have the ability to traverse multiverses, so they're trapped in a decaying, unstable multiverse filled with people who either have given up or thrive on the pain and suffering of others. Sadism isn’t a positive emotion despite having the root feeling being joy because it also has its roots in the harming of others which is negative, so a LOT of people are going to find ecstasy in hurting others because of this since it’s the only joy they CAN feel.
Frisk wouldn’t have to worry about becoming a target to this per say, as they don’t have a physical body that could be harmed, but like I said beforehand,  it doesn’t change the fact they also have loved ones that could be used to hurt them emotionally just for the sake of it. Ink on the other hand is screwed because if i'm remembering correctly, ink CAN feel pain. Not just a lot. His info doesn’t say he quite literally cannot feel pain, rather it’s worded in a way to imply that he just has high pain tolerance. (you could argue because comyet’s french they may have used a translator so the words might be implying the wrong thing but I don’t think they’ve ever stated having problems with their english so I doubt that's the case)  This means that if ink got captured by someone with that mindset and can’t escape, Their doubly screwed.
And that’s not even mentioning the fact that corrupted nightmare here is all powerful and probably bored.
…………………………………………………………………………………………………………
Bonus, how does dreamtale function? Dreamtale isn't an Au and came from OUTSIDE the barriers of the UTMV media- meaning dreamtale and all related to it aren't made out of code so how are they able to affect, heck, interact with the multiverse made of code??
(it's not like joku’s going to answer anyways, she's too busy in the hazbin fandom )
The most logical answer is that it's like a literal god lowering themself to talk to a mortal but still maintaining their god?-likeness.  Like a small amount of coding is mixed within the entirety of dreamtale which only allows them to interact with the multiverse, but keeps them incapable of dying by things in the multiverse made of code. The twins have this property, and are just gods with latent abilities inside them considering what happens in the true ending of dreamtale (that where dream gets that awful human design but apparently defeats the corruption and becomes a true guardian like his mother unleashing his “true power”)This is supported by the fact that Dream and Nightmares skeleton bodies were mimicked/copied after a swap sans whos world was in early development. So their true forms were made out of magic, but their physical skeletal bodies were made of code which allows them to interact with the multiverse. Maybe some aspect of this stick even after nightmare dies and his body is taken by the corruption. The twins skeletal body can be harmed (blood can be shown on both of the twins bodies in official art) But since the corruption is purely made of apples, on positivity FROM THE APPLES can kill it (originally extreme light could only harm it but i'm not sure if it's been stated to be non-canon now, but it's canon until proven otherwise to me)
But then I came to a realization. Both dream and NM can bypass the spaghetti code of the omega timeline, as their magic is tied to the emotions of a person, not the person's coding, and since the twins true forms are magic and not coding, the magic should be able to be enough to allow them to pass into the OT without the usage of the doors. Hm.
DOES NO ONE UNDERSTAND THE IMPLICATIONS??? THAT CORE FRISK CAN’T SEE INTO DREAMTALE NOR CAN THEY TELEPORT THERE??? Not only that but anyone that comes across dream/nightmare must feel that SOMETHINGS off, and it's not just because of their auras. Ink must’ve spazzed out when he first met dream because he’s never seen anyone like dream!!!
Excuse the late response, buddy, I needed a few hours to complete an exam, recollect my braincells, and put on Sum41 (highly recommend this band for these topics), and boy did I need them for this.
Let me add one more thing to your first infodump, because I very much agree the multiverse will fall into shit the second Nightmare wins, and while this could be a mistranslation, on the first page of Dreamtale, it says that the Tree of Feelings, Tree of Magic, and the Tree of Life are all vital to the livelihoods of multiverses, not just a collection of universes within a singular multiverse. And since Dreamtale didn't initially exist within the bounds of the Undertale Multiverse, this could mean a possibility that just like Fresh, Dream and Nightmare may or may not have the ability to jump multiverses. There is also the implication that Nightmare wants to go after the other guardians too.
If we take this information legitimately as presented, and going with your theory that Nightmare would only continue to exist instead of killing himself off once completing his goal, it's implied that he could travel to other multiverses to ensure the same pattern of destruction and misery.
So say once Nightmare finally succeeds, he eventually jumps to another multiverse and does this process all over again regardless of "fandom" or if there are other guardians/forces of positivity existing there. Hell, maybe he could find a way to jump timelines within the same multiverse so he can kill the Dream existing there again and again and again. Maybe he'd compete with or form alliances with the other Nightmares he might find there too. But I vibe more with the competing option, because what if his hunger for power extends even to these other versions of himself and he absorbs them in a similar process Pride did to Gluttony from Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood?
That would be perfectly gruesome and fitting for this variation of Nightmare, me thinks. He'd become such a force of melancholy and torment for others that he doesn't want to stop, even if that means facing himself as he jumps from one reality to another.
It would be FASCINATING to have a story where a version of Nightmare that succeeded shows up in another multiverse timeline or complete other multiverse to fuck everyone over, because he genuinely enjoys the suffering his presence compounds on everyone around him.
But also imagine how much more powerful he could become not only because he has 1,000 apples in his arsenal now but because there is no competition against him anymore, at least no competition that changes anything anyway.
It's said that Nightmare's presence in a singular universe will influence the whole thing for the worse, but that's while Dream is alive and constantly traveling to fix the damage Nightmare left behind. With Dream gone, Nightmare may grow so powerful that it takes his simple presence in a multiverse to make it keel over under him.
And what about his ability to full on corrupt entire universes like he did to Dreamtale right after the Apple Incident and Haventale in the deleted Cream comic? Say there are universes rebelling against his new "order". He wouldn't need to do anything substantial to shut them up, all he'd have to do is show up and corrupt the entire universe, and that universe will become yet another instance of a negative cesspool full of those lizard-eating zombie things.
His form might change as well, because between you and me, even though Nightmare's design makes narrative sense and he is a shapeshifter, there comes a point where that knowledge just isn't enough for me. I need something more stimulating, I need a true horror to behold. I need a design that would scare me shitless. For a being as powerful and grandiose as Nightmare, I like to imagine he takes more fucked up and complex forms regularly, before and after he finally kills Dream and takes the last apple for himself.
Since Ink and Core!Frisk would be just a handful of people somewhat unaffected by Nightmare's new reign of sorts, they'd quickly find there's not much they can do to change this outcome.
You know more about Core!Frisk than I do, so I'm gonna explore what could be going on in Ink's head for the rest of this post.
Ink might gradually fall into a massive depression in comparison to just about everyone else, whose lives go down the shitter instantaneously. Because Ink has no soul and relies on paints to keep living, Nightmare's aura has no effect on him, nor can Nightmare sense him like he can everyone else.
With this new absence of purpose, Ink wouldn't know what to do with themself, and chances are that even if they stretched themself thin to keep their parents and brothers alive, their efforts would be in vain. Gaster, Aster, the Undertop brothers, and the Zephyrtale brothers would all end up dead, either out of desperation for relief or a loss of hope and drive to live. Perhaps one of those deaths would have been a mercy killing, something that would haunt Ink for their limited time left functional. Ink would end up completely and utterly alone, as he could only do so much, and if he were to find Core!Frisk, he'd depend on them to an insanely unhealthy amount, terrified of being completely alone and forgotten.
But at some point, the isolation and lack of knowledge about Ink from others will weigh down on them, and their mind might start wandering for every worse alternative in the book. Perhaps being forgotten after all of this might be a relief. At this point any outcome would be better than whatever he's experiencing now. There is nothing to do, no one to stick by him, no source of affection and care he needs anymore. The loneliness and boredom would weigh him down and only exaggerate that gaping hole of loss left behind in their family's deaths.
Ink would spiral so far into this hypothetical depression he'd do anything to feel something again, because he still wants to live, but continuing on empty is a feeling they can't stand no matter what way they spin it. He'd resort to self-harm to escape that empty feeling.
Everyone they've ever loved is gone. Every AU is ruined. Too many creators have moved onto other projects to keep waiting for them. There is nothing left for Ink and Core!Frisk's efforts to keep him company aren't enough to quench the need to be needed anymore.
And eventually, once Ink runs out of paints and refills, there's nothing else Core!Frisk can do but watch Ink crumble from a devastated tool to a motionless, lifeless husk on the ground. The best they can provide is not leaving Ink's side as they go through this process.
They can't even give him a proper final resting place before Nightmare shows up and hides the body. Or perhaps he can use the body as a henchman through the use of his corruption as he jumps from reality to reality. Ink is once again a tool, but to someone who if they were still present, would genuinely hate.
Core!Frisk is the last survivor of this multiverse, forever wandering through Nightmare's corruption left behind.

thinking about someones hc about killer being taught royal etiquette by chara and that it would match nightmares vision of himself as a “king”and huge ego
so my take is that dream and mare themselves know the etiquette very well too. idk if its canon or not, i missed out on so much and the last time i actually did research on the authors blogs was 3 years ago…💀 if not consider it my hc
so what i was saying is that mare since he sees himself as a royal (+ i like to think that in dreamtale there was a royalty setting, a kingdom, and him and dream knew royal etiquette since childhood) he still unconsciously acts like some sort of prince, being polite and shit even when he doesnt mean too (as soon as hes calm. if hes mad he wouldnt gaf and would just kick yo ass). he says things like “please go there” “could you get that”, he would talk in that strange manner and at firts ppl around him would always think about how edgy he is😭 mare the edgelord pls save me
he would eat in his mannered way, would make sure everything around him is clean and in order. ofc he has killer or “the gang” to clean but he himself always keeps things he has got his hands on clean. his bed (if he actually sleeps) is always made, he never leaves a mess (unless hes mad and dgaf, again. but afterwards he would get someone to clean or do it himself anyways).
and about his clothing. i despise his “corrupted” design (his clothes i mean), and the fact that dream seems to be jokus “favorite child”, like she never actually worked on nms design in the first place (while dream has two. wohoo). why tf would he dress as sans? to blend in with other sanses so they would blame his shit on the aus sans literally wtf and how would they not notice that their “sans” is covered in this black goop he has. so, i usually draw/portray him in different attire. like i just said, since he got that royal attitude, he would at least dress the way it would match? i used just to draw him wearing a topcoat (?) instead of a hoodie, but now as im older and ig smarter, and also into jfashion, i can see him wearing something something similiar to “aristocrat”, or just something more… decent? not casual, this guy is not casual in any way, why would he wear a hoodie and slippers. something like shirts (all buttoned up), vests, etc. as for young mare/dream, i like to imagine them wearing ouji fashion, but their original designs are also fine i guess

As I write Ambush Simulation, a question that comes up for me personally, and this applies to canon as well, is how many people knew what Endeavor was doing to his family?
The answer?
Well, here's a complicated mess of the several factors I explore in the series, but the two basic points it boils down to is money and the Commission's corruption.
Up front, I don't think that many people knew about what Endeavor was doing, or at least didn't have concrete proof of it. And that's not me trying to be optimistic. Yes, the idea that other Pros knew and stayed out of it for whatever reason whether it was fear of retaliation from Endeavor or general 'don't get involved' apathy does make a lot of sense. But the other side of that coin is the hero professional field was structured to be aggressively competitive. There's the bi-annual rankings and the constant talk about securing a high place in said rankings and their very livelihood's depending on their success in the field. It all comes back to the financial gain and being a hero for the wrong reasons that Stain exposed to society. I feel like if more people knew about what was going on, one of Endeavor's competitors would have publicly outed him with incriminating information if it meant removing one more rival from the equation or having the game of ‘being the hero who exposed the villain in their ranks.’ Forget the family, I think someone might’ve pulled that trigger for their own gain.
But going even deeper into this is the thought the Todoroki family themselves collectively keep that mistreatment on lockdown for a variety of reasons. Their father/husband is the No. 2 Hero, effectively a national figure, and so outing him as an abuser and so on has the potential for disastrous consequences.
If that story gets out, Rei, Fuyumi, Natsuo, and Shouto's lives become a media circus.
Inevitably, there's going to be the diehard Endeavor fans who'll deny their story no matter the evidence. That kind of harassment would be a nightmare.
For better or worse, because of Endeavor's career and the financial gain that came with it, they do have a certain lifestyle they're used to. We could get into lawsuits, settlements, and other legal financial actions, but that is a daunting prospect and the family might have thought so, too. "Mom's in the hospital, there's bills to pay, and even if we come forward, there's no guarantee we'll come out on top because...
And this is the biggest one. The Commission canonically had an assassin to eliminate corrupt heroes, but I think the people Nagant was made to kill were low-ranked nobodies, deaths that could easily be swept under the rug and blamed on unidentified criminals. If someone in the top ten was found out to be doing something they shouldn't, that complicates matters. If the choice is between arranging an assassination for one of their top-performing heroes, someone who would impossible to replace in a hurry and a death that would be highly scrutinized by the public, or simply hushing up the story, the latter would probably be the Commission's choice.
Because of the Commission, the Todoroki family coming forward is a major gamble in which they could lose everything. A desire to avoid harassment from journalists and angry fans while maintaining the familiar, if unhealthy, status quo is an understandable option. It's not a good option, but I can see it being viewed as the ‘safe’ one. It’s the twisted philosophy of ‘my home is not safe, but it’s the only one I know.’ This would explain why even Natsuo, the least tolerant of the family, didn’t come forward.
But let's face it. Secrets like that aren't kept for long.
Rei goes missing for ten years and nobody thought to question it? No, people were asking. Endeavor's clearly not a family man, but he has four kids and the youngest one, the perfect fire and ice hybrid, is the one he's pushing to be a hero? That's suspicious. But I would also think ‘Quirk marriages’ are hard to prove in court and that kind of accusation could possibly get someone sued for slander. Proving it in Endeavor’s case becomes even harder if the accuser doesn’t have the family backing up their claims. And then we’re back to the reasons the family won’t come forward and the Commission denouncing any and all accusations to cover for Endeavor.
So there’s no singular reason why no one came forward but rather a convoluted mess of multiple reasons that feed off each other, orbiting around the Commission and the Todoroki Family's respective chokeholds on their status quo.
The Todoroki Family fears reprisal from the Commission.
The Commission fears reprisal from the public should one of their best Pros be condemned for 'villainous' actions.
Other Pros either fear the Commission or respect the Todoroki Family's decision.
With moving parts like that, a grenade like Dabi’s Dance was the only way a scandal like this could be made public. That was an accusation that could not be ignored, denied, or dismissed as a hoax and I would be very curious to see how the Commission would have handled that crisis had they survived long enough to see the aftermath.
Bottom line, while it’s easy to imagine a lot of Pros could have been maliciously apathetic, there also wasn’t an easy way forward for anyone who would have wanted to help the Todoroki family.
At least that’s how I have it structured in the fic, but can see this theory/headcanon fitting in the canon narrative.

...I'm baaaack.
I mean, I made one post about Swap!PV and then got distracted for months, so I wouldn't really call this a comeback. The moment I did come back though, apparently a bunch of lore just fell from the sky! Beast Yeast is upon us and all of a sudden I remember making an alt. version of this goober.
Turns out there were a few things I wasn't satisfied with in the first one, so here I am with my Swap!Vanilla 2.0 human edition! Even after all this time I still don't have a name for him. There's more white in his design, he has four horns instead of two and they form a crown on his head(that might be a bit hard to see), he also has a halo, his staff changed drastically, and he lost his soul gem. Instead he has two new smaller gems on his "ribcage".
This time around I tried to invoke more death themes, hence the ribcage, more wrappings, the halo, and the burn marks from, y'know, being re-baked and essentially reborn. The halo also makes for a nice double meaning, showing his somewhat good intentions behind the violence and spreading chaos gig.
Speaking of intentions, I maybe or maybe not have mentioned the only swaps happening in this proposed AU are between PV and WL and [possibly] Black Raisin and Red Velvet. I say maybe because if I checked, all the writing would disappear and I would have to start over again. However, I have wondered if those two swapped, how would PV handled the kingdoms? Would it be the same as DE or would the fates of each kingdom end up being swapped as well? It's something I definitely need to think on and develop.
Anyways, ramble break, here's a few doodles I did for Swap!PV!
Tumblr media
Yeah, I had a lot of fun doing this. SO! A few changes not mentioned prior. Eyes! There are more eyes, especially on his coat. I took a bit of inspiration from a certain blue jester and his realm of nightmares. It also plays nicely with the whole "truth revealed" theme. Why not give the holder of the light of truth a bunch of opened eyes to represent his awakening? Also they looked good and his cape-coat was too plain without it.
Fun Head Canons: He's always floating, even when he's relaxing his feet never touch the floor. This PV still has a lily garden, it's just hidden away because while he still misses WL despite everything, he refuses to show weakness in front of others. His coat can take the shape of angel wings when angry and multiple eyes can appear when furious or in distress. Speaking of eyes, the ones on his coat glow. Those gems on him are pieces of moonstone that got corrupted after saving him.
As for the story behind him, I had to make a few adjustments. For one, DE and WL are two halves of the same whole, and the only reason either of them exists is thanks to precautions taken by Elder Faerie. Which means Pure Vanilla somehow has to get the stuff from Lily, who came to Beast Yeast without saying much of anything to anyone beforehand. Secondly, it means the Pure Vanilla Kingdom can't be the last kingdom explored. Pre Beast Yeast, the order in which the kingdoms would be explored would change, where White Lily's area would be explored first instead and the Vanilla Kingdom would be last. I'll address the second issue on a different post related to White Lily, but first things first. Fair warning, I wrote quite a bit.
~~~
After forming the seal, White Lily falls ill due to the immense amount of power used. She's not used to using so much of her soul gem, much less creating a seal to lock away ancient evils. Seeing her faltering state, Elder Faerie takes her away to his palace to help her recover. During her time in the palace, White Lily becomes distressed because not only does she feel like she's being a burden, but she won't be able to continue her research on how cookies were made. That was the whole point of coming here, after all. She left her friends and home behind to find the truth and ended up sick and bed ridden instead. The least she could do to redeem herself was to find the truth.
Racked with guilt and regret, she asks Elder Faerie for two favors; she wishes to know the secret behind cookies' creation, and she requests a pen and paper to write with. Before long, White Lily gains a messenger(Silverbell) who gives her books from the library to read, and a way to reach the one other person she understands. Someone who should've known where she was most of all. Pure Vanilla Cookie.
From there the two keep exchanging letters as White Lily brushes up on fae and beast lore. But eventually White Lily would learn about the Night of the Witches in a similar enough way to canon, i.e. finding the book about it. While she's recovered enough, she's still not well enough to go, and Elder Faerie isn't risking her well being and safety for a banquet. She's devastated that her questions may never be answered. If only she could go, if only there was some way to witness it while being in the Fairy Kingdom. And then... she realizes something. Perhaps there is a way for her to know after all...
White Lily, in the discomfort of her hospital bed, writes a letter to Pure Vanilla and asks him to go to the Witch's Banquet in her place. She knows that this is a huge ask, and he has every reason to refuse the favor, but it would mean the world to her if he did. Elder Faerie hears about this and is rightfully worried, telling her about the dangers, and any cookie that goes doesn't come back the same, if at all. He sends his own letter to Pure Vanilla to warn him of the dangers that lie ahead. A few more letters come in from WL apologizing for her request, saying it was out of line and inappropriate. "What a selfish request," she thinks, "after leaving him in the dark for so long, I have the nerve to ask him for anything at all?"
However, despite everything, he eventually decides to go. He knows that this means everything to her, and a part of Pure Vanilla secretly wondered about it as well. White Lily searched heaven and earth to find the truth so she could help others. Why would he keep avoiding it for so long? If he knew the truth as well, perhaps he could use these secrets to help the people of Earthbread alongside her. Maybe now he would finally understand White Lily more.
He wrote a letter addressed to both WL and EF about his final decision. White Lily is surprised at his decision, and is eternally grateful, while Elder Faerie is more resigned and concerned, knowing that he won't be able to change his mind but still wanting to help. He asks her to help write her next letter, and the two send a package to Pure Vanilla. Inside was another letter with the faint smell of lilies, as well as a map to the location of the banquet and a moonstone from Elder Faerie as a show of goodwill and for protection. He in turn sends what would become his final letter to her, unbeknownst to the two reading. He expresses his gratefulness to both WL and EF and declares his determination to find answers both for her and for the sake of everyone, stating, "Let me be your hope when you have none, and you my guiding light in shadows..."
Pure Vanilla proceeds to head to the Witch's Banquet, discovers the bitter truth, and in his attempts to save the other cookies falls into the ultimate dough. The fleeting scent of lilies is the last thing he grasps in his final moments, and the faint glow of a moonstone ensures his survival. His soul gem shatters under the weight of the truth and is scattered across the world, longing to be made whole once again.
~~~
Well! I think I have said everything I can say about him for now. I'm sure I can come up with more things later, but if you read this far, thanks for reading! I did not know I was going to say this much, so yeah. Next post is for White Lily specifically, I hope. I'm also taking suggestions for ideas about the other kingdoms and ways this could go, so if you have anything to suggest, let me know. Y'all have a good evening!

Best princess has arrived! All hail the empress of the night!
Genuinely I had so much fun with Luna. I really wanted to keep the slay of Nightmare Moon to show the scars such a tragedy left.
Also here's Luna before Nightmare Moon, and the lore I made:
Tumblr media
(not happy with the anatomy but oh well)
Luna always struggled with not getting recognized for her efforts. She fought against nightmares in the dream world all alone for centuries. Rarely would ponies remember her visiting or helping.
Her sister Celestia was praised and loved. While Luna was often overshadowed.
She put a lot of pressure on herself, insisting she would be fine. She would protect Equestria during night like Celestia did during day.
Luna kept nightmare creatures from escaping the dream realm. But when she failed to destroy one, Celestia would deal with it. Followed by scolding from Starswirl, their mentor.
The Nightmare creatures feed on negativity, fear, and doubts. All of which Luna was filled with. But although they tried to cause her further distress, she didn't yield. Only destroying more of them.
But with every vanquished nightmare, some of their darkness would cling to Luna, corruption from nightmare energy accumulating. But it wasn't her downfall. Rather, something else was being fed within her.
A nightmare made from Luna's self doubts, hatred and sorrow. A being that fed of the corruption left behind by the many nightmares slain. A being just as powerful if not more than Luna. One that grew stronger, and stronger. A being that will be known as Nightmare Moon.
Luna had always harbored jealousy for Celestia, and anger towards the ponies of Equestria. But Nightmare Moon wanted to act upon it. Likewise did the nightmares stuck in the dream realm. They recognized Nightmare Moon within Luna, as not just one of them, but a being that could bring them the power needed to take over the waking world. They need only wait for the perfect moment to strike.
Luna kept to herself her struggles, and when she did reach out, nobody understood. Eventually she started to listen to the voice in her head. She grew more angrier, tired, jealous.
One day, she gave in, too tired to keep fighting. Letting Nightmare Moon take over. Quickly she regretted it however...
What followed was a battle between the sisters, and Nightmare Moon being sealed away to the Moon. Luna alongside her.
But even when stuck in the moon, did Luna try to travel dreams. Likewise did Nightmare Moon do the same.
She fought valiantly against the nightmares even when in exile. She sent dreams to warn her sister, tried talking with her. But... None were received. The Nightmares made sure of that.
So Luna had to play dirty sometimes, sending nightmares warning of threats she saw from the moon. But not always were they remembered. Even more rarely did Nightmare Moon let her.
For a millenia she tried to at least alleviate the pain caused by her mistakes. And for millenia none would notice.
Until a certain Twilight Sparkle, student of Celestia, received vague visions of a grim future. Followed by her beginning research on "The Mare in the Moon" in her dreams. Luna finally, had found someone who didn't forget her warnings.
Twilight told Celestia of her worries, and Celestia sent her on a journey to Ponyville. There which similar events to the show's pilot episodes would take place.
-
Anyways yeah that's my rewrite of the Nightmare Moon. Yes it's sadder and darker but it's my rewrite I do what I want.
I took heavy inspiration from the "Nightmare Rarity" comic about how Nightmare creatures exist etc, and how Nightmare Moon happened. Even if not canon I still adore the concepts-
I also wanted to add to why Celestia believed in Twilight's potential so much. Not just because of her magic, but because she actually heard Luna's pleas and warnings. Something even Celestia struggled with. Which was the catalyst to her realizing that, yes, Twilight is gonna make a great Alicorn one day! (Then Gen5 happened and fucked the lore up)

Also, your 'Amon stays in the CCG and works with Haise' AU is fantastic and should have been canon. Poor Amon misses Eyepatch terribly (he still has QUESTIONS damnit!) but doesn't want to get Haise (or Akira) in trouble, so he can't really say much, but he and Haise get suspicious of the CCG being corrupted. They investigate together, but they have to be discreet and they HATE IT, the CCG is supposed to represent justice! Inner!Kaneki drops hints and nags Haise in the background constantly.
YESSSSS GOD AMON AND HAISE NOT INTERACTING IN :RE WAS SUCH A MISSED OPPORTUNITY TO ME I WAS SO GENUINELY SURPRISED WHEN THEY NEVER DID
In the context of my AU I think Amon would feel so let down by the emergence of the Quinx project. He's spent all this time investigating the CCG's suspicious sides and almost uncovered what they were really aiming to do and then it just gets. Announced, just like that. That they're putting ghoul organs in people to use as weapons. It feels wrong. Everything clicks terribly into place. But he can't say anything. And Eyepatch is gone already (or so he Thinks) It all feels anti-climatic, somehow.
Then he meets this new investigator, who shakes his hand and greets him cheerily. He's being mentored by Akira. They are to treat him as a human unless he loses control, to which they'll treat him as a ghoul. It's Eyepatch. It's Haise Sasaki. Amon has to stomach the thought of both working with him and potentially having to "erase" him if he remembers who he is. He likes Haise, even if he's different from Eyepatch, but Haise might not be around forever, for one reason or another. He's never had to kill a co-worker or friend before. (I think, similar to Akira in canon :re Amon would be assigned a big role in leading squads when the CCG has to keep Haise under control. It only makes sense, he's done significant damage to him before, in half-kakuja form no less, and managed to escape this guy even without a weapon. And he's also like, one of the Only Guys who has ever killed a ghoul with his bare hands before.) Still though, the thought of killing Haise, whether it be with a quinque through the heart or the snap of a neck, is nauseating.
The CCG higher-ups are suspicious, obviously, because Amon is the only one who truly knows Everything about Eyepatch, and he might screw with Haise's memories. They're keeping an eye on him and make sure they don't get too close, unless Amon needs to confront Haise, since Haise, even when losing control, just can't seem to hurt him. Not really at least (if it ever does happen he feels So Guilty) ((Also sidenote but Haise probably visibly winces when he first meets Amon. His head hurts and he's not sure why. He feels melancholic and he doesn't know why. He feels a flood of relief. But he doesn't know why. He likes Amon a lot and wants to get to know him. The white-haired ghoul in his head seems particularly fixated on him, won't stop looking at him. Haise somehow knew Amon's name before he was even told what it was. He surmises that it's just because Amon is so well-known in general. (He knows, deep down, that it might be more than just that)))
Haise has small recollections of memories, but he can't tell anyone, obviously. Sometimes he has nightmares of flower fields and battles under the rain. When he and Amon get closer he tells him a little about them. "It's probably nothing" he laughs, unsure, but Amon knows what they really mean. He sees Eyepatch in Haise and it hurts terribly. He fears the chance that he'll never get to ask the questions he had, almost as much as he fears the chance that one day he suddenly will. The answers he's wanted for so long are so close that they are literally standing right next to him, yet they're so far.
As things move forward they definitely try to investigate and figure out the CCG's corrupt system together. But they have to be careful, on the outside co-workers (including Akira) make comments about how close they are and what a good team they make but within the inner-workings of the CCG they have their careful eyes on them. Maybe Akira's a little weary about it, tells Amon as such sometime and Amon says he knows (but there are things he can't tell even her.) Maybe one time Haise and Amon talk briefly, maybe after or during Haise losing control of himself and he says something and it sounds hauntingly like Eyepatch. Haise had looked at him differently during that moment. His voice sounded different. It was pained, but not in the physical sense. Maybe it wasn't Haise at all, actually.
Haise has a dream once about a man shouting asking him if he really is just a ghoul. Somehow he doesn't feel like it's for him. (But surely it means something to Kaneki Ken). Maybe, like in that comic I drew, Kaneki is incredibly relieved that Amon is alive, but also terribly jealous that all he can do is watch from the shadows LOL
Ough sorry I got SO carried away I've just been meaning to list out some of the details of my AU thoughts for AGES this has been living rent free in my mind for MONTHS it's one of my favorite thoughts Ever
It's insane, how many parallels are setup between Kaneki/Haise and Amon, yet Haise and Amon never meet once, even though Amon is foreshadowed constantly during :re. To be fair there is so much going on in :re already but still, man. Man,

Spyro and Cynder Head Canons(Some Shippy, Some Platonic, Some Just General)
Ideas struck me a while ago, and I wanted to share. Some of these are based on an interview someone had with Jared Pullen, others are just from my own brain.
Spyro would have been a Fire Dragon if he was not the Purple Dragon, and I am fully down with the idea of him and Ignitus being related.
Had she not been corrupted, Cynder would be a Wind Dragon.
Initially, after A New Beginning, Cynder was extremely jumpy and distrustful of everyone around her. The first of the group she managed to calm down around was Spyro. Part of it was that he was the most friendly of them, always trying to keep her company and such. The other part was that he was smaller, and therefore less imposing. Despite the fact he blasted her in the face with what I can only assume is the magic and draconic equivalent of a small scale nuke.
Spyro told Cynder(after she mentioned how impressed she was) that he defeated her in Convexity with not even a week of training(not in a condescending way, just an "oh, thanks, I'm shocked I survived" kinda way). Cynder needed a few hours to recover from the shock.
These two just up and vanish into nature at random times. Whether it's Avalar, the swamp Spyro grew up in, or even the White Isle, they are known to disappear for a bit then come back to either Warfang or the Temple. So long as they come back in a month or two, no one tends to panic.
Occasionally, Spyro would worry he would turn out like Malefor. Cynder somehow has a sixth sense for knowing when he's thinking this, and will put an immediate stop to that line of thinking. It ranges from gentle reassurance that the only thing he shares with Malefor is scale colour, to straight up threatening him with bodily harm if she gets any hint he's genuinely turning evil.
Cynder was scared of growing up because she was scared of seeing her old self in her reflection when she was fully grown. She ended up not looking exactly like she did under Malefor's control, so she feels a little more comfortable with her appearance.
Spyro is a blast furnace. Mostly because of his Fire Element. When they're living together, Spyro often wakes up to Cynder glued to him to get the extra warmth.
The two are each other's anchors, especially after nightmares.
If they ever had kids, Cynder would be a nervous wreck while waiting for the eggs to hatch. Spyro's nervous, too, but he grew up with good examples of parenting in the form of Flash and Nina. Cynder's references for parenting are Gaul and Malefor, and it has her terrified she's going to mess up as a mother. Eventually, Spyro suggests they just use Gaul and Malefor as the What NOT To Do Guide, and that works out really well.
Trips to the White Isle. It started as Spyro wanted to talk to The Chronicler, maybe have a rant, and he brought Cynder along for the ride(and maybe told her what the Chronicler said would happen to her after Malefor returned). But surprise! Instead of the first guy, he gets Ignitus! There were tears, and all that emotional stuff, and now the two of them make a point to visit at least annually.
After restoring the world in Dawn of the Dragon, and recovering from that, Spyro and Cynder did spend at least a year in Avalar. They took the opportunity to hang out, have fun, and just be twelve after all the trauma and stuff they went through. They made sure to tell the remaining Guardians where they went, so nobody worried if they got trapped in stasis again.
Spyro does eventually introduce Cynder to Flash and Nina. The hold up was on her end, because she wasn't sure how Spyro's adopted parents would feel about meeting one of the people who tried to kill him and their biological son. Flash and Nina were actually quite welcoming, after getting to meet Cynder. Sparx had told a couple stories, but had warmed up enough to Cynder to let the Terror of the Skies stuff be told on her terms.
Cynder ends up being adopted by either Cyril or Terrador. Not sure which of the two, but she gets a dad who actually cares about her and her wellbeing.

Silm reread 14: Men! (again)
Finrod goes hunting with M&M (C3 and AA are apparently too nasty for him to hang out?), gets bored (Finrod doesn't seem to have a great attantions span), travels far because why not, he likes new places, discovers Men.
The Men are like: Yay, we found the place we've been looking for, it's perfect, all our problems are over! Finrod decides that Men are his new hyperfixation lovely. He isn't the first Elf to meet them, they'd met the Avari and learned from them already!
Osanwe and stuff.
Finrod gets named Nóm, which totally isn't "gnome but make it nonless obvious". Finrod the gnome. I love him. And making fun of him [affectionate].
Also, the Men (Beorians) are totally fanboying over Finrod too, they claim him as their ruler and swear fealty to the Arafinweans. It seems like it is spontaneous, he doesn't ask for it or anything. No colonizer vibes. They just love each other a lot. It's all very cool and kind.
A canon cnfirmation that the Eldar (so: not Sindar) are the best at learning languages of all the peoples.
Of course, Finrod asks questions. Where do Men come from? They don't want to talk about it. Finrod will keep poking, of course. Very relateable.
Here we get the thing I already posted about: Morgoth also hyperfixated on Men, so he went to corrupt them and left Sauron as the manager. And Sauron immediately lost Maedhros, and didn't even know how. :D (It's not canon, it's my interpretation of the timeline).
Anyway, Morgoth returns and leaves "only a few of his servants and not very powerful or skilled ones" among Men. So no, tha guy we'll later see impersonating one of the Mannish chieftains very likely isn't Sauron, just some less savvy shapeshifter guy. Which shows that there are more uMaiar whose MO is shapeshifting+spreading lies. which, I think, is even mentioned somewhere.
The Green Elves of Ossiriand seem to be hardcore vegans: they can't be friends with Men, because the Men cut trees and hunt animals.
The Men relocate to A&A's lands and Beor asks Finrod to take him to Nargothrond. And here he gets the name Bëor, which means a vassal… yes, it sounds not great, but based on the vibe I would assume he was the one to pick the name and Finrod reluctantly agreed.
Other Men settle at Caranthir's land and are ignored. Finrod generally visits Men often, and many Elves of both tribes come to see them too, because Men are a cool novelty. Generally, cultural exchange.
"It is said that" (Pengolodh, you gossip!) only Finrod consulted the "giving lands to Men" thing with Thingol. (TBH, Thingol banned pretty much every other Noldo from Doriath so… well ok, they could have sent letters I guess.)
Also, Thingol does have mysterious nightmares about Men!!! Self-fulfilling prophecies ftw. Ha had those even before Men were a thing. So, this is important.
Some Men fear Eldar and the light in their eyes. Huh. Yea, they're sus and Morgoth-infused I suppose. And we have the "not Sauron because he would be more competent" shapeshifter scene.
Sidenote: It would make a good comedy fic (either a very dark comedy or not very canon but anyway): this guy returns to Sauron, tells him the [lack of] results, and Sauron (still upset after losing Mae) berates him and lectures him on how to do it properly. (If less comedic, probably some quotes or at least close paraphrases from a CSL's book I have not read would fit well in here). Hmm. It could even work without comedy.
Haleth, siege, all that stuff, Caranthir learns to respect Men, and Haleth doesn't want to be his subordinate anyway. Also, she's so brave (and/or insane) that she leads her people through the Spider-land. Also, she disses Thingol a bit (he deserved that one).
Men learn sindarin en masse. Also, many young guys serve in Elven army. Cultural exchange again.
Oh, Boromir is a FA name too! XD I forgot that. Plus a lot of other people having weird names plus we get the genealogies for Turin, Tuor and Beren. Men are cool and awesome and stuff + at the end of this chapter the three Edain tribes are described. TBH I see a pretty clear analogy of:
Hadorians - Vanyar (blond, blue-eyed, tall, author's fav), but the Men are more anger-prone. (Also, Hadorians are quite Tulkas-like to me.)
Beorians - Noldor (dark hair, grey-eyed, craftsy), but the Men have more pity
Halethians (sp?) - Teleri (not social, forest-y)
Beor dies, Elves are sad and confused that it is a thing. End of chapter.

Is Monarch made of butterflies? Why do they always fly around or out of him? Is it more of a metaphor?
No, he isn't xD
Concept-wise, Monarch and his brother Emperor are themed after butterflies and moths, like the monarch butterfly and the emperor moth. They've had a fascination/liking towards these pretty little bugs since their creation.
"Inner Monarch" (aka the uncorrupted version of himself that's still fighting back) never allowed the corruption to wipe away his fondness for butterflies but it did twist into, well, collecting many specimens by sticking them on fancy corkboards for display. To have something frail, innocent, and beautiful be trapped forever, even in death. But, at least he has a greenhouse filled with live monarch butterflies to appease "Inner Monarch"... This is one of the reasons why he is surrounded by them in some of the recent drawings I've doodled.
During our last doodle session that resulted in the "booty appreciation" comics, Chee and I did muse about Monarch being able to (involuntarily) summon butterflies whenever he manages to get flustered or feel good feels, and that we have "Inner Monarch" to thank for that. Buuuut I'm still deciding whether this will be a thing or not so it isn't anything "canon" to Monarch's design as of yet.
As for his brother... After the Entity's corruption (the black goop and negativity that corrupted Nightmare/Emperor) shifted from Emperor to Monarch, the small fracture that still resides within Emperor at times speaks to him in the shape of a moth.

I couldn't resist 💀. Remember this ask?
Yeah I twisted the story and here we are..
Tumblr media
Meet Callisto Luther! (AI name = Nox Luther)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Vishenka (cherry) and I were having conversation and I got idea omg
So basically, Hope and Dream had a fight which cause their magics to combine and created Callisto. Hope lost all of their magics because if a witch gave birth or create a living being, their magics will be transferred to the child.
Hope is powerless and Dream feels overwhelmed so he couldn't take care of Callisto (What a pain in the ass!)
Hope take care of Callisto then Lux because the original had to stick around lmao.
He hates Killermare family and he hates Dream and his family too (expect for Lux, he cares deeply for his little sister <3) (Even so he respects women-)
His opinion on people
Dream
"A massive headache. I am ashamed I was born from a fight... What a pain.. I really hate him. I don't care that he neglected me but what pisses me off that he dare to abandoned my little sister and mom all by their own! I don't curse because Mom really dislike it..."
Hope
"Mom is doing better. I really wished that I never inherited Mom's power... Mom is was so weak that she couldn't even eat.."
Lux
"my adorable little sister!!! I really adore her, she is my light of this horrible world. She support me to take the throne and I will! I'll make sure to give her everything once the throne is mine."
Palette
"Even if he is my brother... I will never see him as one... Arrogant little brat, he dare to bully my little sister and tell everyone that she is crazy because of a revengeful spirit? That's stupid-"
Drop
"I heard the little girl is locked in the castle for years now. I never see her appearance and I don't think anyone do. Dream kept her away from world... What a pain.."
Ink
"I don't care if she is kind or pretty. She is depressing- I don't like the fact she cope with depression. Drinking... That's just terrible. She needs help, a therapy will be good."
Alphonse (Corrupted Nightmare)
"I am holding myself from cursing... I hate him. That's the final."
Crescent
"I can't believe Dream is this stupid. Taking a child of an enemy as priest? This kingdom chances of getting attacked are very high.."
Angst (If he were alive)
"The crown prince of darkness kingdom... I don't know much about him. Rumours say he isolated himself from the world and waiting for death to take him."
Merciless
"I never interact with him. Sometimes I saw him walking next to Palette, sometimes he sat alone and sometimes... He feels so empty. He don't resemble the darkness king at all so I don't think I should hate him. Beside he is gives a really calming vibe."
Goth
"Oh lady Goth! Lux really adore her best friend. I'm glad Lux has someone to rely on. Lady Goth is genuinely kind to Lux. Even if she is close to Palette, she still treat Lux nicely and never believe in any of Palette's lies."
Bonus
Artemis belong to @itzcherrybonbon /@abloomingsunflower
"The precious daughter of the king I despise. Ugh... Well she is kind of pretty, I give her that. Mom said not to hate on her since I don't know anything about her.. Well she told me not to hate on anyone but I did it anyway. As long she don't interfere in my way on taking the throne, I'll be nice to her..."
Vivi belong to @canon-vi
"Oh my other little sister? Well she is adorable! Lux really adore Vivi so much and I am the same. Though, we don't spend much time together because she is a princess and has her own duty."
Kira belong to @canon-vi
"I will never understand why Dream took another child of an enemy to be a priestess... At least she is kind and look nothing like Alphonse. I am not that religious so I don't visit the church that often."

Dreamtale Theories:
Here's a list of a few theories about the Dreamtale Lore, this story leaving some very interesting gaps to try and fill. Philosophical and scientific thoughts helpt me to concretise these ideas, but although I've been inspired by them, it's not with these points of view I'm going to develop, but rather a purely artistic point of view. Little by little, philosophy and science have been lost in my ramblings, giving way to imaginations that seemed to fit together. Artists imagine. They cheat, they lie, they don't care much for concrete realities. In the end, the only science I get into position on is the elements of the Dreamtale canon, at least those I've managed to pick out. Perhaps I've missed some information that would disprove these hypotheses, in which case it would be courteous of you to let me know.
On a more chill note, say I'm just a teenager with a overflowing mind who loves to come up with crazy theories with whatever I can get my hands on, and I write this mainly for fun ^^
In fact, I don't think for a second I'm right, so I don't know if I can call those theories... Maybe speculation ideas about Dreamtale I wanted to share? Almost headcanons, but still based on concrete elements of the canon.
So let's go, first theory!
☁︎ Canon/Fanon:
For starters, why do I insist so much on canonicity? Because when it comes to Dreamtale, the boundary between Fanon and Canon is not always well understood, given that there are a lot of preconceived ideas on the subject.
The fact is, I see Dreamtale's Fanon and Canon as two completely separate worlds. And yet, understand that I hate adhering to variants of this and that for anything and everything. The idea of viscerally separating the Canon and Fanon sides of an oeuvre makes no sense to me, especially in an open world where each universe is a piece of a larger puzzle, where the world we're presented with is meant to be a huge playground.
And at this stage, if we do that with this universe, we could do the same for all the existing stories, no? Nevertheless, for THIS world and this world in particular, I think it's important.
For there is a crucial difference between C!Dreamtale and F!Dreamtale, a difference that completely alters the interpretation of the oeuvre. Fanon doesn't just make a few interpretative changes... He changes the very nature of a character: Corrupted Nightmare. And that, well... It's a bit complicated not to separate the two, especially when the Fanon version is so popular... Canon, he is dead and his body belongs to another character who has his own personality and background. Fanon, he's alive. Trapped, imprisoned, manipulated, split into two personalities (Night and Mare) or fundamentally evil, depending on the case, but alive.
Night is experiencing a bit of Asriel syndrome: it was because Undertale fans couldn't accept his death that the first AU's were created. And for Dreamtale, there was such misunderstanding about this (Because reading the Prologue, everyone agreed that Corrupted Nightmare was...well... Nightmare), that the majority think this is official. (It has to be said, it wasn't evident let me reassure you...)
To this we can add the fact that most of the time, in very fanon fanfics and fancomics, the other two trees don't exist or are never mentioned, that Corrupted (I refuse to call him "Nightmare" simply because he isn't Nightmare) isn't a real person or doesn't exist at all, that Dreamtale is an AU of Undertale, so made up of codes like the other AU's, but all that still depends on people's interpretation and knowledge of the real Dreamtale.
To put it more bluntly, and if the boundary's still unclear: F!Dreamtale is a part of the Undertale Multiverse, while C!Dreamtale is its own universe.
Since I like both aspects equally, and in order to get everyone on the same page, I've come up with a mini theory:
Dreamtale Fanon, being the Dreamtale developed by fans based on the belief that Corrupted Nightmare is more or less Night, has strayed so far from its original story (it focuses more on the "broken brothers" relationship of the twins, their mutual development and their relationships with the characters of the Undertale fandom), that over time, by putting down roots in the world of Undertale and through the influence of the creators, Dreamtale would have "split." This double would then have merged with the codes of the Undertale Multiverse, because Dreamtale was so well integrated into it that this version of it ended up becoming imprinted on the very core and codes. That's why, in F!Dreamtale, we don't always mention the other trees, since they never joined the Undertale Multiverse. Even we NEVER mention them in Dreamtale's AU's like Swapdream or the alternative Multiverses like Dreamswap, Swapverse, etc. That's why Dream and Nightmare exist in the alternative Multiverses,AU's and not the rest (Vampireverse, Empireverse, Minuscultale and so on).
The result is two Dreamtales:
The Canon Dreamtale, which belongs to Joku,
The Fanon Dreamtale, which belongs to the Fandom Joku too.
Well yeah, it's still Dreamtale, so it still belongs to Joku, no matter what haters want ◖눈ᴥ눈◗
Duh.
Also, this definitely doesn't prevent fanfics from being based on C!Dreamtale, it's even advisable to give it the prominence it deserves. Hence the idea of completely separating these versions, because fans can make fanfics about the Canon, and although it's fanon, it won't be similar to the F!Dreamtale version at all.
Two worlds taking different thematic paths created on the uncertainty of Night's death (like a "Schrodinger's Night" ͡° ͜ · ͡°).
Next theory!
☁︎ Tree of Feelings/Creators link:
This is a question I picked up when wondering about Dream and Corrupted's various attacks. Where Dream needs a body to hold him together, Corrupted has so many black apples that he can physically hold himself together without a body, and more or less correctly. Do positive and negative energies function differently? Is it because Corrupted has more apples that he holds on better? What is positive and negative energy in Dreamtale's Lore?
At the beginning, I'd started from the principle that Energy with a big E, being what makes up absolutely all existing things, humans and monsters alike, could be used by Dream and Corrupted to be converted into either magical energy or physical energy. As Dream only holds one apple and enjoys a body, he'd mindlessly convert his energy into magical energy, which is why he has a soul similar to human's souls and why he's able to heal as green magic does, or cause damage as white magic does. For Corrupted's part, possessing no body of his own and having amassed enough power from his hundreds of apples, he would have to convert negative energy into physical energy. This would require a great deal of power and would therefore explain why, despite he's stronger than Dream, he's not 999X stronger than him. He already uses a lot of his energy simply... Holding on without melting.
I also theorised that if one of them were to acquire all the apples, not only would it have a stable body, but it would also be able to convert this energy as it saw fit. Corrupted could then generate magical attacks AND have a physical body.
The trouble is... Dreamtale isn't actually part of Undertale. So there's no Magic,Physics duality. And even assuming that Dream converts that energy into magical energy because he's unconsciously copying the way his adopted world works, he's still canonically attacking with positive energy and not MAGIC made from positive energy. Energy comes in many forms, but I don't think he can control it in such a pure form...
All this can still hold together, but what bothers me most is that pure Energy would have... A positive side and a negative side? And what's more, related to feelings? Why not, but I'm not really pleased with.
Dream and Corrupted's energy is material, palpable. Of course, we could stop at the fact that it's just a magical energy like we find everywhere in stories and not ask ourselves any more questions.
But I love wracking my brains to find answers to questions that no one wonder, so I'll keep going èwé–
What kind of energy would this refer to? Not energy in the scientific sense, because that's independent of any emotion, whereas in Dreamtale, positive energy, for example, is directly linked to positive feelings.
Because tree of FEELINGS–
The most plausible thing I found with is that positive and negative energies are linked to the spiritual energy: auras, meditation, etc. Proof of its existence is fairly hazy in the world of creators. But in the world of fiction...? What if? This energy of consciousness exists, whether it's real or not. And if it's not in the real world, as long as there are people who believe in it, then it's in the world of fiction. What if the fruits of the tree of feelings were the material manifestation of this spiritual energy produced by the consciousness of the creators? Just as a world is created by a creative mind, what about Dream and Nightmare were the guardians of the feelings of fiction as the direct embodiment of the emotions that creators instil in their work? This could be the reason why Dreamtale isn't made up of codes, because it's the direct embodiment of a philosophy and not just another fictional universe among many.
I can't decide whether it's too obvious or too far-fetched ^^". It was the concept in Underverse that made me think of it... There are references between what Nightmare implies in 0.6 and creators tearing up their own universes because they're filled with negative emotions. Underverse isn't canon, but there's nothing to stop this idea of the creator, feeling link being applied to Dreamtale.
Especially as it allows us to imagine something even bigger that could work in relation to the three trees...
But before that, a little theory about Corrupted, because the more we learn about him, the more this character becomes... Mysterious.
☁︎ Something is rotten in the state of Dreamtale :
Ever since I knew that the three trees were part not of the Undertale Multiverse but of all the other Multiverses, I've been wondering why it should be Corrupted who embodies absolute Evil and not someone else. After all, we know plenty of evil lords, don't we? Isn't it a bit pretentious to claim him to be above everyone else?
But one detail, one nuance, makes all the difference.
By definition, Corrupted does not embody Evil, but negative feelings. He embodies them because he has become their guardian, their bearer. What I'm trying to say is that black apples and evil are not linked... Black apples are not fundamentally evil. They have no conscience; they are neutral, they exist for balance and have a purpose of their own.
No, Corrupted is Evil for another reason. He's Evil because he's simply wicked. If the personification of negative feelings is evil, it's not because the negative emotions or the apples are mean, but because they are themselves corrupted, alienated by a consciousness that manipulates them irresponsibly. Why would the Entity feel hatred? Hatred and not despair or dread? Because he was already filled with hatred, or because he has a fighting personality that allows him to exploit this emotion for its dark projects. Is it a sign that Corrupted isn't worthy of being their carrier? After all, he's not their basic guardian; it was Nim, then Nightmare.
In this way, that doesn't prevent him from being THE allegory on the scale of all dimensions (or of a large area of dimensions, if you don't like the idea that Dreamtale is linked to all fictional universes) , because the role relating to negative FEELINGS in a neutral behaviour is rather original. He's an allegory of negative feelings that doesn't need to be, and that gives a false image of what negative feelings actually are; the pejorative and common image we have of them. In reality, negative feelings are neither good nor bad; they mean no harm to others. The one who wishes them harm is the Entity, Corrupted.
He's a simple villain who has got his hands on power that doesn't belong to him and is out of control with.
...
Maybe not a 'simple' villain either?
Because, another theory, I think that Corrupted is this fourth guardian that Joku mentioned. Firstly because I don't know who else he could be, but also because he knows about the other dimensions outside Undertale. How would he know if he didn't come from outside? Who else would this fourth guardian be, and why would Joku mention him? What's more, a number of elements fit together with this theory, notably his strategy of manipulating Nim (Nim is far from stupid, and he probably wouldn't have succeeded so easily if he didn't already know a little about her), in order to create Dream and Nightmare, dividing positivity and negativity to undermine the pillars of balance, all with the aim of finding a carnal envelope and taking possession of the Tree of Feelings...
Like a plan that has been fine-tuned for years and years... Add to this the anecdote that the tree guardians are not the original guardians and that Nim learnt something awful about them before leaving for Undertale, and you'd think there was a rotten menace already pulling the strings in the shadows, long before our dear twins were born.
So what is Corrupted looking for? What's his ultimate plan? To spread negativity across all dimensions and reign supreme as a Living God?
A fine programme... But what if we took his ambitions one step further?
☁︎ Feelings, Life, Magic:
Why three trees? Why THESE three trees? Why place them at the centre of the Multiverse? Why are feelings, life and magic at the heart of the worlds? What link can we make between them?
Feelings, well ok, that works... Life and death, logical... Magic? Why magic? Magic isn't a necessary element in the Multiverse, sometimes it doesn't even exist... Why a tree of Magic and not a tree of Souls, or a tree of Virtues and Sins, for example? Undertale is very closely linked to magic, but that's not the case for all worlds...
This is where we come back to the idea that apples are the materialised forms of the feelings creators apply to their work... Does this also work with Magic and Life? Yes, it does. Trees don't just take care of Feelings, Life and Death and Magic... They reflect what creators need to create.
Feelings, as we've said, are exactly what it takes to find inspiration, to feed the imagination like maintain fire. As long as the feelings remain, so do the passion and inspiration.
Life, on the other hand, is quite simply what enables a work to exist, to remain. Life is the nest in which the spirit bathes, gathering together the experiences of the creator, housing and preserving them. You could also say that the more lives there are to witness a work, the more real a work is.
Inspiration, yes... The environment, all right... But what is needed to create something out of nothing? To make the unreal real? The immaterial material?
Nothing more than a little magic ✨ !
Not the kind of magic you find in fiction with wizards and pseudo-scientific logic, no... Magic in the sense of believing in something irrational. To believe that these worlds exist, to have faith without needing proof. Accepting imagination. Not in a religious connotation, but in the sense: Magic = Consenting Suspension of Disbelief.
Feelings: The fuel.
Life: The oxygen.
Magic: The spark.
Fire triangle is complete.
What if these three trees were the equivalent of the Triforce of Creation itself? Feelings to stimulate, Life to sustain, Magic to materialize.
What would happen if, by some mischance, an ill-intentioned person managed to seize the power of these three trees? What would be the consequences? In the end, perhaps this mysterious Entity wants more than just the golden apple in Dream's care?
And if these three trees work very well together, what would the fourth guardian be doing?
Would he be the original guardian?
Or the exact opposite of Creation: Destruction and Nothingness?
(Voilà! I hope theses theories will have interested you ^^ And you, what do you think? Do you have theories about what's going to happen in the Dreamtale sequel?)

Soleil raito!
History:
after dream and cross became a couple again
And they had starcross
A little brat identical to dream was also born, which they called soleil
Soleil is dream's favorite daughter! (all her siblings HATE HER VERY MUCH)
some information:
- Normally he is nice and helpful but if one of her siblings is around her she will be a ball of nerves
- She has constant anxiety attacks, her siblings hate hurts her very much.
- she is religious, only because dream wants to
- is young than starcross by 1 year
- does not sleep, does not eat and does not rest trying to please everyone
- knows how to use a crossbow but does not know the multiplication table of 7
- probably if she discovers his privilege as dream's favorite, she will become a sociopath
Her opinion about the people she knows:
{Adults}
Dream: I love dad very much! He is a great father!!
Ink: Mrs.Ink makes me feel uncomfortable... I'm not sure why.
Hope: I would like to talk to her but I constantly see vivi and tachi with her, I better stay away
Cross: Mom is nice, I like talking to her.
Corrupted nightmare: he scares me... I hate him!
{Fanchildren}
Lux: WHY IS SHE SO BAD TO ME?! I just said hi and she told me to kill myself
Palette: He ignores me quite often... he looks like dad so I thought we would get along but no...
Merciless: he is always with Lux... I don't want to have him around
Drop: I usually watch her play from afar... Sometimes I would like to talk to her but I don't dare approach her
Goth: I would like to have the trust that he has... What a shame it won't happen
Crescent: He's scary, he comes up to me and I'll kick him hard in the ba-
{Some "extra" fanchildren)
Artemis: She seems nice but I doubt I can trust her.
Vivi: she is with Lux and merciless, I don't trust her...
Kira: a new daughter of nightmare, a new problem- we both go to the same church so I can't escape
Tachi: I feel like she hates me... I don't want her to hurt me, I won't bother her
Callisto: he hates me... Like everyone else... Nothing new, I just got excited thinking that he would like me
Tasya: her hair is beautiful... And she seems very sweet
Shelki: I hope I can become friends with her. . . But I'm not sure-
Selena and Elius: I wish I could spend time with one of them... But they probably hate me too
Starcross: He hates me, probably because of Lux, I hoped that at least he would treat me well, but it seems I'm always wrong.
Sunshine: The last time I let my guard down around her, she made me eat a dead rat, she's scary. Why she act so sweet to Palette and Drop and not to me?!
(Let's see what she thinks when she becomes a manipulative sociopath who uses favoritism to her advantage)

okay. aforementioned meta time.
aka: solas drew the veil and plunged the world into chaos... but my best guess is, he had to.
ft.: if he was wrong to do so (which i don't think he was), then the inquisitor is just as wrong during in hushed whispers
solas' goals were pretty straightforward: he wanted to liberate the enslaved elvhen. to do that, he had to stop the evanuris, who were, without a doubt, the world's most powerful mages.
and others have posited theories about more going on, theories i tend to agree with, at least in terms of broad strokes. specifically i believe there's a connection btwn the evanuris and the blight and that, unchecked, they truly would have destroyed the world.
in which case, he gets an additional goal: save the literal world.
i also tend to agree with the idea that red lyrium has something to do with the blight. so moving forward with these two theories...
things blight/red lyrium can affect (in game canon):
stone
animals (including moles and worms via ambient dialogue in suledin keep)
humans
elves
dwarves
qunari
dragons
so it's reasonably safe to say that not only does the blight impact people, but it impacts the planet/nature as well. so if he took action to stop the blight, then by doing so he sacrificed arlathan to save the entire rest of the world. and the extreme measure he took here was likely necessary because of the strength of the evanuris - one man, one mage, however skilled, could not effectively fight them all. as a direct confrontation he would have lost. but there's still a heavy implication that he warred with them (or perhaps for them - either way, he was a soldier) for some time, that he "spent lives," which to me implies that he was something of a general waging a war against the evanuris, at least at one point. so it's safe to say that he actually tried to go head to head with them - and he couldn't. not even with an army.
i have seen his actions within the timeline of dai contrasted with the inquisitor's actions during the in hushed whispers timeline, and i think that's a very valid comparison to make: he woke to a world that was unrecognizable to him, corrupted by his actions, but also saved by his actions! but he wants to bring what was good about the world back. as inky in that timeline, we are willing to destroy everyone in order to "reset" the world and have another chance to take down corypheus.
in game, the world doesn't seem too bad to us. sure, it has its issues, but it's still a functional world, right? the people inhabiting it, most of them want to continue to live the rest of their lives, right? i don't think we can say the same isn't true of the future timeline we saw. there was absolutely deep corruption and danger, and the inquisitor's companions seek a reset, but what of those outside southern thedas? we never know, we never see their lives. what if others were gearing up to attack - what if they'd been able to succeed? instead we determine that this future is so awful, so intolerable, through our limited, narrow point of view of it, that it should be erased, should be completely unmade.
and in-game, this reads as ethical! but it's also analogous to what solas is doing and to what he did in arlathan. i don't think that paralleling is unintentional, either: what we see in that future is very much what he sees in the present, and we're both right, these times are "corrupted," are "broken," are "different" and are "wrong." but as inky it's presented as an inevitability - of course we would seek to restore, to reset, and nevermind all that we'd be destroying in the doing. leliana says this explicitly to dorian, that for him this is a nightmare he hopes will never come to pass, but the rest of them lived it, it was real.
to solas, the world is half of what it should be. everyone is walking around not knowing how much they are missing, unable to recognize the deep loss of magic for what it is. it's a gutted world, and that it's all these people have ever known... well, does that make it right to keep it as-is? because if so, how did the inquisitor have the right to reset the world in that timeline?
(little note: i have not engaged with any media outside of the main game canon and certain dlcs. however, i also do not personally hold that canon outside the games/major dlcs is absolute canon and should be 100% trusted. this is just how i engage with this franchise. so if smth i said here is disproved by non-game canon, personally that doesn't rly matter to me uwu;; to each their own tho!)
