You and Bruce recently got married. It wasn't for love. It was an arranged marriage Bruce parents set before they died and as to respect them he decided to follow their decision.
Bruce and you were only married on papers and infront of public eye. You two were distant. Living in different rooms, rarely seeing each other which means seeing each other only while passing the corridors.
You came from a wealthy and educated family just like Bruce. You observed how he wasn't home at night and mostly out till morning.
You would ask alfred about it but got nothing. You were a curious cat and one day tried to follow Bruce but got lost in some shady dark place at middle of night due to his fast speed.
You were trying to find where you were and get back to home when you saw a drunk young men coming towards you.
"Well well what do we have here?" The drunk man said with a sick smile while laughing. There was no one around you other than this men. You were all alone in a shady place having no idea where the hell in Gotham City are you as you were from another city.
If this would have happened to you a few years ago you would have been shit scared praying to God for help but not now. Infact you were feeling sorry for the poor bastard.
"I suggest you to leave me alone for your own safety" you said in a calm voice. While he laughed like crazy at you. "For my safety? Are you insane bitch? Whatever I like insane women they are kinky" he said rubbing his hands together and coming towards you. That's it. This sick asshole deserve it. You thought.
When the man stands right infront of you. You tilt your head making your eyes starting turn red, making the man scared and screaming "What the fuck?"
"What happened? You liked insane women, right?" You said smiling sinister while your face and body started transforming into your demon form. You attacked the man and started tearing, rupturing him and eating him like the maneater you are while his blood drip down your neck and his screams feeling like a soft melody to your ears bringing you immense pleasure.
After devouring him up you look up and saw Batman standing infront of you a few metres apart looking at you with an intense look. You knew it was your husband Bruce. It was like you can identify Bruce in any costume. Might be one of your demonic advantages.
You turned back to your human form blood all spread over your mouth dripping down your neck while Batman/bruce looking at you with a shock confused look.
"Don't worry I won't eat you"you said wipping your lips with your hand then licking the blood on your fingers.
"I know" you heard his deep voice.
"And yeah he was a asshole. I only eat bad people and the one who annoy me" you said standing up blood covering your clothes.
"How?" You heard his deep voice.
"How I become this? Well long story hubby will tell you some day"you said going towards him. "He wasn't tasty" you said pouting generously hurt that he wasn't delicious.
You were a demon but why does Bruce feels like you are a goddess not demon. He should be scared but it only made him more fascinated by you. Well after all he was also a freak only of a different kind.

They don’t know what your real name is. Your file is coated in so many layers of black ink it might as well be a black page. Even then, so much of who you are and what made who you have remained classified. Under lock and key. Away from unauthorized personnel. To be able to view your file they would need permission from your superiors as well as their boss.
You wore a nanofiber, reinforced body suit underneath your shirt and trousers. The black jacket draped over your shoulders, as you continued to glare from the sidelines. “I don’t care why you might want to have her. She’s not yours to have, she doesn’t belong to you, she isn’t yours to take. She is better off in our care than she is in yours. Don’t ask or request for this again.” Your superior, to say he was angry with them would be an understatement.
“It’s like they don’t understand how you function.” He groaned as he slammed the phone down. Cutting them off from making more incessant demands. You and he walked from his office to the mission briefing.
“Hopefully, they’ll find someone else to assist sir.” You told him.
He nodded in agreement, “Hopefully they do Reaper, hopefully they do.”
It felt like yesterday when that conversation occurred. You wanted to go back to that time. It was far simpler than the time of your life now. Things didn’t feel like they were constantly stacked against you for one reason or some other.
You were always told to love yourself. Yet you never learned how. You didn’t have a role model like the children you grew up with. You didn’t look up to your mother or your father, you saw them falling over themselves. Mentally, sometimes literally.
You wondered what it would like to have parents to pick you up from school. For your parents to put your report on the fridge to show off your good grades.
You reminded Soap, “I'm only helping you to make sure you don't fuck it up.”
The thick leather boots kept the cold snow from seeping to your limbs. You’ve been here before. Many times, before. The cold welcomed you back like a mother waiting for them at the front door after school.
You make took any work to have the excuse to avoid a confrontation from any of them. ‘Can’t confront someone if they’re not there, right?’ you mused with a slow smirk creeping across your face.
However, they weren’t keen on letting you slip away into the night, you were about to cut firewood as they huddled up in the main room. You didn’t mind the cold as much. It felt more welcoming to you than the warmth inside. Layering the wood, you cut up into the firewood holder inside. Picking it up from the wheelbarrow you found in the abandoned shed close by. You were about to make another trip outside. This time to gather sticks, leaves and anything to keep the fire going without resourcing to depleting their back-up firewood.
A firm hand grasping tightly on yours as you turned the doorknob, you were warm, weren’t you? You had more layers on than an onion, at least you felt like you had more layers on than people would have loved to assume. The reinforced bodysuit, the shirt, the trousers, the fur jacket over the top. Black leather with fur lined gloves to tie it all together.
Layers like an onion. Warm like a Siberian bear. The more dead wood from the snow-covered forest you gathered, seeing your mother everywhere still, you walked closer to her, or you attempted to. Yet no matter how close you got, the further away she was.
Was she a hallucination? A visual and audible hallucination? A product of her grief, lack of proper sleep, a lack of a proper send off when your parents passed at sixteen. Once you saw your mother, it was like something inside of you snapped. You didn’t realise you were chasing after her until you felt someone grab your wrist tightly.
You were slowly moving further away from the cabin, step by step, losing your mind in a haze of grief.
‘Have you come to apologise?’ you wondered. Moving faster to get closer to her. Hearing her humming through the forest. Echoing through the trees. Feeling like you were ten years old playing hide and seek with your mother in the park. Only for to disappear whenever you got too close to her.
You didn't hear them calling out to you to snap out of it. You were too caught up in the chase, the illusion of your mother's presence. The cold wind whipped around you, but you felt no chill. Your mind was racing, your heart pounding. You were desperate to find her, to talk to her, to understand.
‘I’m coming mother. Wait for me.’
‘Wait for me.’
‘Please mother.’
Those three thoughts repeating like clockwork, repeating like a broken record. A grandfather clock chiming, the sound of the reverse and slowed down. You never caught up. As soon as you closed your eyes and opened them again. The illusion of your mother vanished, replaced by the stark reality of the snow-covered forest.
As the illusion of your mother faded, you found yourself standing in the middle of the snow-covered forest, the sound of your own ragged breathing echoing in the quiet. You felt a cold shiver run down your spine, not from the frigid air, but from the realisation of what had just happened.
When you got back to the cabin, you hoped you were quiet enough to sneak to your corner and sleeping bag to go to sleep. Ghost spotting you asleep in the corner, arms crossed and frowning like you were still annoyed with someone.
Even in your sleep. You looked like you were tired of dealing with people. Though you were not as young as people assumed you were. You were treated like you didn’t know anything or that you didn’t know any better.
“I’m a thirty-year-old woman. I’ve been in the military for twelve years. Stop treating me like I don’t know anything.” You said to Price once. You were beyond angry at the time. “You have second guessed every decision I’ve made since this whole thing started. If you have an issue with how I did things you could have told me instead. For someone so keen on open communication. You haven’t been doing a lot of it.”
"I apologize, Reaper," he said, his voice sincere. "I've been under a lot of stress lately, and I've taken it out on you. I trust your judgment, and I'm sorry for doubting it."
“Try to do better. An apology without action is just as bad as no apology at all.” You reminded him. “And no, I’m not mad at you, a little disappointed, but not mad.”
Price raised an eyebrow at the second part of what you said, "You're not mad? That’s a first.”
“What can I say? I’m full of stardust and miracles.” You snorted sipping your coffee, wrapping your gloved fingers around the white coffee mug.
Price chuckled, "You're definitely something else, Reaper."
“I try. It’s hard work, and most of the time, a bow and arrow doesn’t always cut it.” You replied, taking another sip of your coffee.
His gaze falling on the compact bow on the table, next to your recurve bow, more like hunting bows. The military didn’t use them as far as knew. You have been using them to hunt for more food, Ghost said something about it while you were gone hunting.
Soap loved taking naps near you afterwards, which didn’t bother you nearly as much as they assumed. “We’re in a snowy area.” You stated. As if they should think about the cold rather than anything illicit.
His head resting on your shoulder, as you both were fast asleep, as Ghost walked inside from the blizzard outside. His breath fogging up in front of his face, closing the door behind him. Eyes drifting over to where you and Soap were huddled together on the couch in front of the fireplace.
Now the mission a distant memory. An echo inside their minds. News of your kidnapping drifted to them. A week after it had occurred. You were taken by someone while you were on mandatory leave. Price kicking himself mentally. How would he have known this would be the outcome of sending you back home?
“When was the last message she sent out?” Price asked Gaz, his frown deep and his impatience growing by the second.
Gaz checked the transcripts of the most recent messages she had sent them to the last one she had sent through before the recent one. Searching for a possible connection between the last two calls you made. The only thing standing out to them was the number. The number of your mother’s cell phone stood out to them as an anomaly.
The last two calls you made were to your mother’s cell phone. Odd. Suspicious even.
“Gaz, run a trace on the phone number, Soap, grab the co-ordinates after Gaz gives you and follow up on the location of where the phone call might have come from.” Price said to the two of them.
Alaska. Northern part of the forest called the Chugach National Forest.
"According to what I've seen. It is coming from a burner phone." Gaz told Price.
Soap is still gripping onto the shirt you gave him a year ago. "Take it." You said.
"Odd way to give a present Reaper." Soap smirked.
"Odd way to say, 'thank you' Soap." You countered with a smirk. You didn't know how to give people presents without making it awkward.
Yet Soap, he never seemed to mind. He always seemed to appreciate your awkward attempts at gift-giving. He cherished them. Although now his mind has is pictures of you in an oversized hoodie.
When your rank of Lieutenant Colonel was revealed to them. A picture of you at 18, dead pan expression and a tired look in your eyes giving look of a 'perpetually resting bitch face' according to Price. Which strangely enough fit you, well that, along with your personality of a stray feline with a penchant of an Irish goodbye.
The last recorded message to them, 'It's weird being back home. But doctors’ orders are final, and I don't think I would be able to look him in the eye if I didn't. Fear of failure is scary I'll say it. It's strange here. Too quiet. I think I got used to Price's snoring and Gaz's endless chatter. You have no idea how many times I was overstimulated, and your chatter was the perfect white noise I needed. Hard to have ADHD and depressive disorder with psychotic traits mixed in. But hey, it is what it is, and the rest is stardust, biscuits, naps and getting scared because you saw your own mask in the mirror at 3am. I'll say this once though I love you. I'll never say to your face because you'll have to pry the word from me like you'd have pry the mint chocolate ice cream from my cold dead fingers. But, yeah, I love you and I'll see you soon alright? And you too Ghost."
The last message you sent out. 'I think someone might be in my house. Not too keen on being someone's target. Ghost, being you're the responsible one out of the two of us. I sent you confirmation of where I lived with my parents. A starting point.' The background noise of creaking floorboards, as you whispered. An unmistakable Austrian accent, "Maus where are you?" In the background followed by heavy rain masking the footsteps.
You continued to whisper into the phone as the message was pretty long in duration. "Ghost, you were right, I admit it, you were right during that argument, and I was clearly wrong." You moved to the attic. Sneaking there while the intruder was downstairs. You continued to whisper, "I'm sorry I argued with you. I should've listened to you. I should've stayed with you. I should've..." Your voice trailed off as you fumbled with the attic hatch, trying to secure it. "I should've just stayed with you."
A sob escaped your lips as you realized your mistake. You had been so stubborn, so determined to prove your independence, that you had ignored the warning signs. Now, you were trapped, alone, and terrified.
You pulled out your phone and sent a final message to Ghost: "I was wrong. He found me. I'm in the attic."
"Mäuschen there you are." The male Austrian voice said in a chilling tone, followed by the sound of heavy footsteps approaching the attic hatch. The line went dead as he crushed the cell phone beneath his hefty foot. "You're pregnant Maus. I can't have you hurting OUR child."
You didn’t know what he was getting at, what did he mean by our child? Surely you remember what he means by that don’t you? Apparently, it seems to bother him. It bothers him that you don’t remember him. That’s fine Maus. He’ll make you remember him. One way or another, you will remember who he is.
Over his shoulder you go Maus.

Chrissy woke up in Robin’s arms a few hours later, rested but disoriented. There was an odd sound she couldn’t place, a jingle that her morning-sleepiness wouldn’t let her focus on. 
The music was still playing in the background, a constant loop. She looked around, relieved that everyone was still there. Nancy was curled onto her side with Max laid out at the very end of the bed. Steve and Eddie were laying on top of each other on the couch, while Dustin snored in the chair. 
She wasn’t sure what woke her up, not until she realized that tinkling was the sound of keys in the door, followed by it slamming open.
“I hate that damn door,” She heard a gruff voice say under his breath. 
Chrissy popped her head up, her eyes widening when Eddie’s uncle stepped inside. He stopped, a loud sigh escaping as he looked around the room. His eyes zeroed right onto Eddie and Steve on the couch, Eddie still peacefully asleep on Steve’s chest. 
He didn’t even look surprised. Just vaguely annoyed. 
Chrissy watched as he walked over, nudging them both until they started grumbling. Steve came to first, rubbing his eyes before looking up at Wayne with a very guilty look on his face. 
He shook Eddie with him, waking him just in time to hear it when Wayne sighed, “Boys, why are all of these people in our house?”
They looked at each other, another silent conversation raging on until Steve nodded. 
Eddie rolled off of him, landing on his feet as he looked at Wayne, “We have something to tell you. And… you’re probably going to want to sit down for it.”
The rest of the group was starting to wake now, everyone coming to consciousness from the noise. But Wayne listened. He sat on the couch, obviously confused as Steve shook Nancy awake. He whispered a few words into her ear, her eyes going from sleepy to focused in record time. 
She nodded, “You’re right. He deserves to know.”
“Will someone please explain what the hell you’re talking about?” Wayne finally snapped, “I’m getting off a ten-hour shift here.”
“I know, I know,” Eddie sighed as he sat next to him, “But you’re gonna want to hear this. Nancy, go.”
And go she went, explaining the same tale that Chrissy got, but with none of the circumstances to force her to believe it. 
By the end of it, Wayne had his head in his hands, groaning as everyone chimed in about their corroborating stories. 
He was struggling to believe it, they could all tell. Chrissy couldn’t blame him. She was still struggling, despite the fact that her life was on the line.
He finally looked up, his eyes zeroing in on Steve and Eddie. 
“So you’re saying, that day you two came home beaten and bloodied wasn’t a fight? You almost died fighting monsters. That’s what you’re telling me?”
“I-It technically was a fight-” Steve tried.
“Have you or have you not, been risking your lives for the past four years dealing with supernatural shit? Yes or no, Steven?” Wayne interrupted. 
It was enough to snap Steve’s mouth shut. Chrissy was pretty sure she’d never seen him look chastised before, but here he was. Steve nodded, nearly hiding behind Eddie as Wayne groaned. 
“W-We had to sign NDAs!” Eddie tried, “We would have told you but we didn’t think-”
“What? You thought it would be better for me to find out my kids died through some shady government agency? Do you even know how insane all of the shit you just said was! I- how do you expect me to react?!”
It worked just as well with Eddie as it did with Steve. He snapped his mouth back closed, thoroughly reprimanded.
“We’re sorry,” Steve mumbled out, oddly child-like. Almost as though he was getting scolded by his father instead of his friend’s uncle.
“Steve, I don’t want to hear it,” Wayne said, “Because neither of you are going to stop, are you? Not when that girl’s life is on the line.”
They both shook their heads and it was enough to have Wayne groaning again. 
 “I don’t want to believe you,” Wayne finally said, “I haven’t heard anything like this since I was a kid. Boys, this is just too damn much!”
“Wait, what?” Nancy asked, her soft voice ignored as Eddie jumped in. 
“But it’s true! I swear it is! Think of all the weird shit that happens here, Wayne. A kid came back from the dead. You know this town is messed up!”
Steve was still going for a more meek approach, “Are you really that mad?”
“You’re damn right I’m mad!” Wayne snapped again, “The two of you have been risking your lives for - I don’t even know! Why would you-”
“No, wait,” Nancy interrupted, firm enough to get all eyes back on her, “What did you say before? The thing about when you were a kid?”
“Nothing, nothing,” Wayne said with a wave of the hand, “Just old ghost stories.”
“But what ghost stories?” 
Wayne shrugged, “Just… something crazy. It doesn’t matter.”
“But what if it does?” Nancy pressed, “What happened to Will is probably known as a ghost story around here now, and it was at the center of everything. We have no reason to think whatever this is started with him. What if it started before?”
“She’s right,” Dustin chimed in, “What happened when you were a kid?”
Wayne sighed, rubbing a hand over his face as he spoke, “There was a man who lived on the other side of town, in that abandoned house with the stained glass. Killed his whole family. Snapped all their limbs apart like some kind of monster. They never even explained how he managed it, let alone what he did to his son. They never found his body. But he was insane not magic. He sewed his own eyes shut after, never admitting to what he did. Victor Creel doesn’t have anything to do with my kids being stupid-”
“That was his name?” Nancy interrupted, “Victor Creel? What happened to him?”
“I think he’s still at the asylum,” Wayne said, “He got a plea deal, because he was off his damn rocker. Haven’t heard anything about him since.”
 Nancy turned to Chrissy, her brow raised, “Does the stained glass ring any bells?”
Chrissy blinked at her, “I-maybe?”

Been meaning to make an Aster lore post (and lore about Z-777 and this AU in general) since I have many thoughts about her right now so here.
CW: Abuse, violence, medical malpractice/horror/gore, Urbanshade generally being terrible and making Aster feel terrible

Aster's birth was not planned, and she was the result of a one-night stand between a strange man and Beatrice Hawkins, the wife of Urbanshade operative Judas Hawkins. Judas got promoted because of this, his co-workers were not happy about that.
Judas and Beatrice are just Bojack Horseman's parents but involved in corporate conspiracy bs. Judas was the more physically abusive, controlling parent, Beatrice was, like her namesake, a neglectful, verbally abusive alcoholic.
Learned how to fight through schoolyard brawls. She bites. Hard.
Aster has a sneaking suspicion that the community she grew up in was a cult. It definitely was.
She and Sebastian were partnered up for a project or smth (this was probably before he switched to engineering. It was amicable but eventually grew into something genuine. Their college era makes me sick they really could've had it all but fucking Mr. Shade stole that from me and I hate him for it.
Urbanshade was aware of this. They were unaware of just how much it escalated (they still are) but they could tell he was getting attached to her and vice versa.
They could excuse a casual passing friendship or even a casual hook-up/friends w/ benefits deal, but a genuine bond is a big no-no.
And then they hire Sebastian to do some engineering/electrical work and he stumbles upon something shady, probably a weapons cache (or even the storage for the previous Z-777 harvests). In smart horror movie character fashion, Sebastian decides to not play hero and wisely peaces tf out, but Hawkins probes him about his feelings before he can get to the door and oh yeah bro's smitten.
An attachment is an attachment, and attachments lead to problems. And Urbanshade is very good at getting rid of its problems. Who gives a damn that Sebastian's literally just some well-meaning guy and Aster doesn't know about any of this, fuck them kids.
They were initially going to tamper with a later job and get Sebastian killed, but they didn't account for Aster being there and getting caught in an explosion caused by Judas and a rookie operative. She has her first "death", Sebastian is framed and snatched up by Urbanshade. Judas is brutally demoted down to the lowest operative rank.
Naturally, Urbanshade is pissed as hell, and has to do some esoteric occult shit that ultimately dooms Aster to bring her back to life. The community gets sacrificed, Judas and Beatrice are allowed to escape but Beatrice divorces his ass.
Urbanshade sends Aster to a hospital under their jurisdiction, she wakes up almost a year after the incident and sets out to prove Sebastian's innocence after learning the truth. She manages to get some evidence from that night to the cops which helps clear his case, but Urbanshade yoinks her too.
Ten years of torture babeyyyyy. She gets Z-9, another supernatural anomaly attached to her along the way, giving her a monster form that activates when she feels strong survival-based emotions (anger, fear, etc).
Urbanshade eventually goes behind Mr. Shade's back and uses her on Z-2, an anomaly that's been causing trouble in the Blacksite. It's basically a hungry, sentient house, and it wants Z-777 instances.
Mr. Shade is pissy about it, but calms down once they explain that Z-9 is trapped as well, as it's been haunting him for a while, too.
Aster spends an undetermined amount of time in Z-2 before breaking free thanks to Z-9, and runs out during the heat of the Blacksite. Blah blah blah, alliance with Sebastian and Painter, blah blah blah.
The scars on her neck are from a shock collar she used to have to wear early on. They removed it once she became more compliant and subdued. The ones on her wrists and ankles are from pulling on the restraints before her regeneration fully manifested.
Aster was kept alive due to how useful she was to the company as a source of money, but was kept isolated from the EXR-Ps outside of occasional behavioral/psychological tests. No one really stops to think about the transplants and transfusions, given how useful they are
Z-777 is not the person, but the anomaly itself. It's a biological phenomenon that makes everything compatible with everything, and allows the body to adapt to almost all conditions. How the effects vary depending on the methods of harvest cannot be explained.
Z-777 is also said to have some indirect sway over luck. Urbanshade says that about Aster making profits skyrocket, but Sebastian also lost twelve years of his life, the community she was raised in was burned down, Mrs. Solace lost her son, etc. so....
Z-777-2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 all died at some point during their own experimentation periods. Aster is the most successful instance since Z-777-1, hence why Urbanshade is so hellbent on holding onto her. They cannot afford to wait for a Z-777-8.
Aster has the opposite kind of touch trauma from Sebastian and becomes unresponsive instead of violent when people get up in her personal space. She also tends to dissociate/shut down in stressful/overwhelming situations and has developed self-destructive habits thanks to her regenerative abilities.
Despite everything, Aster does genuinely feel good about all the people outside of Urbanshade who did end up getting donations from her, which ultimately saves them from the cons of Z-777's properties. One of the recipients just so happens to be Mrs. Solace, who was suffering from a mild health condition that worsened after Sebastian's "execution".
Aster was a Paramore/Avril Lavigne girlie. She would've liked Olivia Rodrigo's rock music. She listened to Hurricane Streets by Hey Monday and Iris by The Goo Goo Dolls on repeat for hours.
She liked to draw and often got in trouble for not paying attention in class because she was doodling. Her and Painter bond over that in the Blacksite.
Kind of a gifted kid, she didn't know what she wanted to do with her life after college and remained undecided. Probably would've done good in law thanks to her having a knack for finding loopholes, but that was never her thing
She wanted to be a singer and definitely had the potential for greatness. She and Sebastian used to have little jam sessions in their dorms when they got bored.
Did parkour as a hobby, her height and weight made her very good at it. She can, in fact, do a sick flip.
I don't have a set love language for her, but physical affection and quality time are the ones she does the most :)
She likes the rain and water in general. She often went night-swimming in the lake near her house or the college pool when she needed to relax or just wanted quiet time to herself.
A very, very repressed romantic. She was mildly disillusioned by her parent's crumbling, messy marriage but still wouldn't hate having a "The Notebook" moment. She would absolutely love it.
The light gold in her eyes came from the experimentation and glow in the dark.

Love the picture on Sam's dresser being of his parents. I know it's mostly cinematography in like showing that this is Sam, but likeeeee idk. It's funny that deans all like "you abandoned us.(Me. Hi, me again. Was laughing about the lego minifig lumberjack that suspiciously is wearing the same outfit as the lego minifig werewolf and it resulted in me having the most unhinged thoughts about Supernatural. Again.
Once again my brain is overcompensating for how badly I enjoyed S1-3 and how little I enjoyed season 4 onwards.
Now I have gone on record as being someone who generally prefers the non-comedy episodes of the early seasons (HOWEVER a good comedy episode goes a long way in a dark and gritty series as a refreshing break. I love a sensible chuckle. Look at me.) but hear me out. But for your consideration:
You know the drill. Small town, missing people or animal attack reports, maybe both. Shady shit going on. They're not sure if it's worth the time but they were nearby, or Bobby reckoned it was worth checking out so they swing through town, figure they'll stay a few nights. The place is pretty, out in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by woods. Picturesque and the people are nice. Maybe they could relax a few days while also sussing it out.
They can't immediately determine the cause, which is strange. There's always signs that they can equate to being this or that and "dad's journal" always has an answer. Almost always.
One of them goes out for a late night wander (probably Dean, look I'm predictable, but also it feels fitting - Sam got the demon blood ok) and gets attacked by something in the forest, and returns with a really weird bite mark that looks somewhere between canine and human. There's a bit of panic, yknow "What did it look like?" - "It looked like a werewolf! No not like, a werewolf, like a movie werewolf!"
And they're both freaked because there's a handful of horrible fucked up things that could be, and for most of them a bite is just a normal physical injury and the worst thing he'd have to worry about is rabies - but they test press a silver knife to his skin and.... Nothing. They try a few other on-hand items if they have them, probably some herbs and dried flowers, nothing. So they assume the bite's just. An animal bite.
Fast forward after one very tense day of research and uncomfortable vibes, and the sun goes down. And that's when things go to shit. It's not a full moon, which catches them off guard. Dean starts convulsing and twitching on the motel room floor and Sam is fucking panicking, searching for one of those curse-bag's that witches hide when they want to kill you. Dean has one nasty, gritty, panful transformation into something absolutely horrifying - going for my personal favorite - vaguely resembles human but very much weird wolf-man freak. He keeps his clothes but probably tears them up a bit as he's writhing about in pain. Sam is in shock, holding a machete out in defense trying to gauge the situation, Dean comes to and is just looking around in terror and confusion.
Probably have a stare-off before Sam just goes "... Dean???" and the poor guy cannot talk, can only make horrible throat noises, stumbles into the bathroom to get a look in the mirror and probably freaks out bad. Either bolts out the window in a panic, or bolts out the window cause he heard someone knock on the door hearing the noise of it all.
It's like the wishing well - so its some weird curse or local effect that's making a legend with its own rules become real - werewolves transform each night when the sun sets. There's something about racing against the literal setting sun that tickles me, and the added impact of it being something that requires management and mitigation each day is really fun.
So they have a shitty little time in this weird ass town trying to figure out; what's going on, how do we stop it, and arguing over if they call Bobby and tell him what happened or not.

The bout of silence that followed almost made you feel embarrassed, happy that the store was empty besides them and the knocked out parents a couple metres away. But soon enough the brothers jump into action, wheeling out the comic displays in the front, locking up the shop, and turning the open sign to ‘closed’.
Escorting you hurriedly into the back, they set you down at a table and flick the light above you three on. It almost feels like an interrogation.
They talk over each other, “we’ve seen you on the boardwalk more than once with those shady punks, you’re talking about them right?”
“I knew you’d come to your senses, finally ditched those leeches huh?”
“Damn I knew they were vampires!- wait did you say you need to kill vampires or vampire?”
You rub your forehead tiredly, those couple hours you slept had been for naught as these boys stamped out all of your energy. “No, listen, I need you to take out the head vampire- you know what that is?” You know damn well that they know what that is but you ask anyway.
The boys nod their heads like aggressive bobble heads, that almost makes you laugh. “Yeah, I know who he is and he needs to die as soon as possible” the boys look at you, then they look at each other, then back at you. “You’re a half bloodsucker, aren’t you?” And before you can say anything else, the short one jumps up and pulls down the blinds. You unintentionally flinch, cursing yourself over, ‘you’re too fucking tired for this shit’
The short frog drops the blinds but goes for a steak, honestly what the fuck is wrong with these guys?!
Smacking it out of his hand, you take hold of the band on his head and smack it as lightly as you could on the table. You were getting fed up and that is not good.
“Dude what is your damage?! I came here to get healed, not steaked! Will you just listen to me?!” The short one clears his throat, trying to shake off the hit he just took and the other looks at you in slight awe.
“But if you’re a half, then those punks you hangout with are vampires too!” At this you bristle up, but you decide to lean in with a little bit of truth, you were a shit liar anyway. “Yes, but they’re not the problem here-“ the taller frog interrupts “not a problem?! They’re the reason that Santa Carla is the murder capital of the world!”
You sigh again, this is going to become a habit isn’t it? “First of all, just because a build board has it spray painted on the back doesn’t mean it’s true. Do you think the supernatural only exists here? Why is the rest of the world’s violence downplayed by five vampires- don’t write that down!”
The frogs look sheepishly as they lower their notes. “That nickname, is what attracts shitheads to Santa Carla, to the boardwalk. It’s crowded and filled with tourists and wanderers, perfect pickings for people with bad intentions. Monsters don’t stop at the supernatural, much less vampires”
You admit you’re exaggerating a bit now as you talk about your brothers now. “Those punks only eat people with bad intentions” “but what about the missing kid posters huh? Is skipping bedtime a death sentence Missus Claus?”
You look at them weirdly, “hold on, what’s with your voice? You sound constipated. Secondly, they have nothing to do with those kids, once again, shitty people exist. Hell, I’ve seen some of my brothers give the kids joy rides on their bikes.”
That was surprisingly true, although rare, some wanderers have kids that can’t go home, whether their homeless or their parents need to work and they can’t afford babysitters, the boys will keep an eye out for those kids wandering around the boardwalk, even giving them pocket change for some rides, food, or carnival games. Mainly the three others sans David, who mainly takes up the guard dog position.
All of a sudden you feel a prickling at the back of your neck, you could tell that the sun had already started to set. Have you really been spending all your time just defending your brothers? You’re really running out of time here.
“As much as I would like to debate the ethics and morals of supernatural creatures here, I’m running out of time here, are you in or out?”
They look at eachother, then back at you. “The vampires aren’t on board with the sire killing?”
You shake your head “they don’t even know I’m here, or the fact that I know who the sire is. If they did they wouldn’t be able to hide that away from him. I am only half so I’m in a safety net of sorts, he barely knows or cares that I exist and he cannot command me just yet.”
The frogs nod along “him. Pronouns. Got it.” Ah, fuck me.
“But I know they don’t like his command, and I don’t want to be a vampire, I just don’t have it in me.”
“Then why did you do it?”
You pause for a moment, furrowing your eyebrows “I don’t know.”
“So… when do we start?” Your look at them confused, “what?” The short one makes a stabbing motion. “Killing the head vamp?”
Oh! “Well, it can’t be here, the boys must be freaking out about where I am and why I suddenly am taking interest in comics… why don’t you join my dnd club?”
At this point you three walk out of the break room into the store front area. The boys look at you bizarrely. “Dnd? Isn’t that satanic?”
Now it was your turn to look at them weirdly, “you guys are geeks and you don’t play dnd? And no it’s not satanic!” You stop near the cash register where you had first started. “Look, it’s the perfect guise here ok? My club is looking for new members and we’re starting up a new campaign. If they see me here I can tell them that the club put me up to this to convince you guys to play with us. Plus we can work out strategies there.”
The door rattled violently as David walked through the store towards you three. Wait, wasn’t that door locked?
Turning to the boys you say a bit louder than necessary “great! So we’ll meet on Friday ok?”
Turning around you walk up to David who was only a couple metres away now. You walk out of the store with him, not until he stares down the frog brothers for a bit before turning back around with you.

I've been seeing lots of takes lately with people feeling hatred towards part 2 Speedwagon for being a greedy capitalist who probably exploited people and done some shady stuff to become wealthy because there was '''no way he could have become rich just from oil money'''... thoughts?
it's so disappointing to see some bad takes about the Speedwagon Foundation being some "acshually nasty organization" and about Speedwagon supposedly becoming some heartless rich man popping up again. And like, I shouldn't even be surprised at this point considering how the average "Jojo fan" mistreats Part 1 and 2 and alllll the misinformation they love to spread about them and about some characters in particular, often bastardizing them into wildly out of character versions and pretending those fanons are canon for whatever reason (being Speedwagon one of the characters that gets bastardized like that the most), sometimes just to make Blorbo Of Their Choice look better by throwing every other character under the bus, sometimes just because people can't be bothered to pay attention to the og if there are no punching ghosts on sight (and even then, Jojo parts featuring stands get misinterpreted a lot too).
This is gonna be long, so let me start by saying that if y'all really believe that Speedwagon somehow became some nasty ass rich man, then you're completely misinformed and you (and I say "you" in general and not specifically you anon) might benefit from rereading/rewatching the source material and actually paying attention to the plot and details this time.
Like, I've seen people assuming that the Foundation only researched the stone mask and eventually stand stuff, and completely forgetting that one of the literal main goals and also one of the biggest things the Foundation does is seeking for the betterment of the planet as a whole (preserving nature, wildlife, etc) as well as for the betterment of medicine and health care, actually seeking for the best for all humankind, this in addition to all the secret branches it has for the research of supernatural phenomena like stands, stone masks, pillar men, and so on in order to prevent as many incidents with them as possible and prevent the loss of as innocent lives as possible.
Sure, the people working for those latter branches might get into deep trouble sometimes whenever some jerk with a stone mask or a stand starts some shit, but, another thing jojo fans tend to conveniently forget is that those employees are working for the secret/non-public branches of the Foundation. We as audience know about them because we are let into seeing them working as part of the narrative, however, the public in general within the story DO NOT KNOW about the existence of those branches or what they do. Pillar men, stone masks, stands and the research around them are kept in secret in order to prevent any sorts of chaos and ensuing panic, among other safety reasons.
The people working for those branches are specialized or at least have some prior knowledge on those fields they work in (you'd think it is a MUST considering they are being let in on sensitive information that could be super detrimental for the planet and for humankind if it fell in the wrong hands), meaning that those employees already know and are fully aware of the kind of stuff they're going to deal with there from the start. They weren't deceived into it, and the fact that the employees remain loyal to Speedwagon from start to end and respect and follow his will, even long after his death, denotes that there was some deep and mutual respect and appreciation there, something you can't earn through exploitation, and definitely something these people wouldn't have done had Speedwagon been the heartless tyrant rich old man some people with a lack of media literacy want to believe and make others believe he was.
If people paid just a wee bit more attention to earlier Jojo parts, they would have realized it was all spelled out from the beginning too! Speedwagon expressly states from the very start his disgust and hatred towards the rich, being the Joestars the only exception to that due to them being genuinely kind persons, unlike most other wealthy people out there. He was also implied to have been dirt poor for most of his life and was also stated to have lived in the slums at least up to PB's main timeline. There were never any indications or signs that showed that he ever betrayed those roots of his by siding with the rich against the poor over the years. Instead, he's been using his funds to make the whole world a better place for everyone, not only by improving health care and access for all people as well as the environment (which would actually show a sense of duty from him as he is counteracting whatever negative impact his oil company may have had on the planet), but also providing all the aid he can against supernatural threats.
And not just that, but he's also kept some of his connections with the crime world over the years. However, rather than using those connections for selfish goals, he makes use of them to workaround the system in cases like Lisa Lisa's, where he used all those influences he had to help her go successfully into hiding after killing the zombie that murdered George (an undercover zombie that was actually a higher up within the army and who everyone believed to be a regular human, hence their chasing after her to make her pay for that "crime" she had supposedly committed). Additionally, if you know anything about big companies and organizations, you'll know that the law is also not always there to protect regular people, and sometimes, it will cater to the more profitable goals, as well as some businessmen actively being shady af and "hindering" their rivals for their own benefit. The Speedwagon Foundation being an organization that vouches and actively works for the wellbeing of people would have probably ruffled countless feathers among those who seek for a personal gain, to say the least (think of the hijackers that tried to kidnap him, as shown in the flashback in BT, i.e). This is also where those connections he keeps with criminals come into play, as there are never any mentions about Speedwagon doing shady stuff through them nor using them to pursue some personal goal, which hints at the fact that he keeps and uses those nexus as means of protection against actual enemies. Defense rather than offense, if you will.
Also, lets not forget that Speedwagon found his reason to change his ways when he met Jonathan, and that a lot of the things the Foundation does are things Jonathan himself would have gone into had he not passed away (the archaeological research, the deep studying of the stone mask -which eventually led to the discovery of the pillar men just in time before their awakening-, all in order to prevent more incidents like the whole thing with Dio from happening, and so on). It's downright silly to think Speedwagon would even think of betraying Jonathan and his memory by using not only the second chance he received from Jojo himself, but also using the literal monument Speedwagon built to honor the deep bond and mutual affection the two had back when Jonathan was alive for some selfish goal.
And also, lets not forget how disgusted he was with Dio and every single vile thing he did to everyone. Do you really think he would want to follow a path similar to his, in which people are just another step for him to walk all over?? If so, then you sure are completely wrong about who Speedwagon really is like.
Those "he became some nasty capitalist lol", pretending that Spw became some heartless and selfish wealthy man along the way for no reason, all despite the heaps of constant evidence the canon has presented, even long after Speedwagon's passing away in the story, that shows that that was never the case only go to show that people are lazy and that paying attention to the story and the details in it is just something some Jojo fans will actively refuse to do and then will make the worst bullshit takes up about it.
Also?? People do realize that it's possible to become rich and not be some piece of shit?? Like, sure, I do agree that most wealthy people irl ARE shit and scummy af, but there will always be a few exceptions, you just don't always see them because the real kind ones don't go around telling everyone about every single kind act they do, they just put their money to good use to make their own employees lives better, or invest/donate money every chance they get to some organization of their trust and so on. Adding to this, do you all even realize people can't just throw money out of the window and that as a business person you always need to keep some capital to actually make your business thrive and so you can continue helping other people out in this case where BIG SUMS of money are being put to use in favor of actual civilians and people from all walks of life??
((Edit to add yet another Very Obvious display that Speedwagon never sided with the rich, not even in his older years: Smokey Brown! The kid is literally a mirror of Speedwagon’s own younger self in that both were criminals from the streets in a large city (London in Spw’s case, NY in Smokey’s), immersed in crime and poverty and most likely having to resort to crime as a mean to survive in a society that was even more classist (and also racist, and this can actually be seen in BT when one of the mafiosos starts spewing shit towards Smokey due to his skin color) than it is nowadays, both having no known parents or family either and having been most likely orphaned/abandoned. Had Speedwagon been this nasty ass rich man, he could have simply ignored Smokey or treated him poorly, or could have even turned him to authorities, considering Smokey’s criminal record just for the sake of “preventing him from stealing from him” or whatever. There was literally nothing Spw could benefit himself from by keeping Smokey around like he did, which is a core trait in abusive/exploitative people. However, he never did any of that. Instead, and despite the reigning classism and racism at the time, Speedwagon along with Erina always embraced Smokey from the start and basically became his godparents, never letting the kid go back to his life in the streets, providing him with everything he needed and making sure he received a proper education, which was something very few people of color (black people, specially) could receive. And yet, Speedwagon and Erina made it happen, very likely using some of Spw’s influences to allow Smokey go to the school (and eventually college too) of his choice without any stigma or trouble at all and covering all expenses for him. -end of edit-))
If this was, idk, the Metal Gear series or some other media that revolves around the topic of politics, then the whole "cRaPiTaLisM!!! >:O" thing would have some weight and be plausible as it directly impacts the main plot of the story. But here?? In Jojo's?? Where the main focus as stated by it's author himself is the strength of the human spirit overcoming obstacles in the face of actual evil??? Try harder.
And, before I get That One Type of fans yelling at me that "people don't just get rich without exploiting people in real life!!"… do you guys realize we're talking about animanga series where vampires, funky stone masks with spooky powers, pillar men, stands, people who can use some ancient sunpowered martial art, plankton that can turn into a sentient person, and so on can happen, right? And yet I don't see anyone whining that "tHaT DoEsN'T hApPeN iRl!!".
And like, if this whole claim stems from disliking Speedwagon, just say you don't like him and move the fuck on. You don't need to try to justify your disliking for him or for ANY other characters, let alone making up wildly out of character bullshit about them to try to prove to yourself and to everyone else why according to you the character is "bad". I promise you it is not a big deal to simply not vibe with a character.

Cuz I still like parts of it! I like the characters, I liked most of the first book, I like the setting, I like the idea of a small-town detective finding out there's a whole supernatural world out there, I like the idea of dealing with a shady organization and deciding whether you trust them or not.
I also love the idea of a loner detective with trust issues slowly and reluctantly growing to like four new people they're forced to interact with, like a buddy cop type deal, but there's four of them and you have unresolved sexual tension with one of them. I'm still very much invested in my idea of my detective/Mason, so much so that I'm still interested in the crumbs I get from the source material.
And yeah, maybe I shouldn't judge the games for what they're not and instead evaluate them for what they are, which is a fair counter to my criticisms. However ... these things are there. There's a loner vs team player stat, so it's clearly meant to be a factor in your character's interactions with the rest of UB. There's clear found family dynamics attempted in how characters speak and what they say, and we're meant to believe the detective becomes a part of this world and the overall team, and that there's a choice in how you deal with the Agency.
It's just not ... very good. Ya know? It's all there, but it's not done well.
I want, desperately, for this thing to be good again. And maybe that's on me for asking for something I shouldn't have. But judging by the reaction to book 3, it's not just on me, is it? Maybe some people don't think it's fair to judge a "light and fluffy vampire romance simulator" by some higher standards, but I dunno if my standards are that high? Since the first and some of the second book clearly reached them? Meaning the author is fully capable of doing it again?
I think that, if you're spending so much time on something you enjoy, writing fic and drawing fanart, doesn't it ... deserve to have higher standards placed upon it? Like if you play with a thing frequently, it needs to be made of sturdier stuff, no?
Plus, like, it's a product that people pay for. You can't apply fanfic rules to media you pay for. People should have the right to talk about it, even if you don't like what you hear.
Anyway, back to why I do things. I like to take apart the things I enjoy. It's part of why I enjoy them. I love Dragon Age but I'm constantly critical of everything in it. Will I buy the next game? Yes. I also love Mass Effect, it's my favorite video game series behind Dishonored. And it's also a bunch of jingoistic military propaganda. Shit be like that.
I dunno. I can dunk on things I enjoy and it doesn't take away from my enjoyment of them. Usually it just adds to it, and it makes me more aware of the things I do love about them. I get that some people aren't like that but that's just how I vibe.
Edit: I also want to say that another thing that maybe explains why I do shit like this is because I fundamentally don't understand the "other side", so to speak. People who find that others' criticisms ruin their enjoyment of things. If I like a thing, and I see criticisms of it, my reaction is either "Oh, good point! I hadn't thought of it that way, and I agree!" or "Oh, interesting observation! I disagree, but this is a well-made argument!", and in the worst cases, I go "Lmao ok. This is plain wrong and you're wrong for saying it. Goodbye." So either it affects me for the better (I learned something new or got insight into a different viewpoint), or it doesn't affect me at all (and my enjoyment of the thing continues). The idea of someone else saying something I disagree with ruining something for me is just not ... logical, to me? It doesn't parse. I fundamentally don't understand the thought process.

At this point it just feels as if the Duffers are punishing Steve for being a fan favorite when they did not want him to be. He is the cool, good-looking jock. I always got the impression that Jonathan was a stand in for the writers. He does some really shady things that no one ever brings up again, but people constantly bring up Steve being an asshole, when, on screen, we really only see him acting reactionary toward what he perceives to the be the truth. In season one, a girl goes missing from his backyard and a kid goes missing at the same time. Then he learns that a guy (already known for intentionally isolating himself) was in the woods behind his house the night the girl goes missing taking photos of his girlfriend changing. Then he learns that that same guy’s brother is the kid that went missing. I know what I would think in that situation. Steve does not know anything supernatural is going on. Then that same guy starts hanging around the girlfriend that he was stalking the same night her best friend disappeared. I would think he might have had something to do with it as well, regardless of the assumed cheating. Which is probably a trigger for him if Tommy’s comment about his parents meant anything.
However, Steve realizes he took it too far and apologized and made it right. That should have been the end of it. And moving into season 2 it was. Steve was partnered with Dustin and the Lucas and Max and was really cool and decent about the whole Nancy and Jonathan (even though this time she was cheating on him), however, putting Steve and Dustin together made the character too popular. The jock with a heart of gold and that was protective of the kids was never supposed to be a fan favorite. Jonathan was the artistic loner type, he was supposed to be the one everyone loves the most. Steve was supposed to get his comeuppance and have everyone cheer at the jock getting knocked down by a bigger jock. But that is not how it went.
Moving into season three, they are just straight up punishing the character. Everyone trets him like an idiot, even when he brings up legitimate points, and is the one to identify the music. Starting with Robin and her “Mr. Cool” speech. I love her and the scene in the bathroom is one of the most beautiful and well done of the show. But when they are tied up on the floor (after Steve has just been tortured) is not the time to tell this guy that he was a piece of shit for not noticing you. Robin was the year below Steve, why would he know her? Also, her sophomore year would have been 1983, he had other things going on. The only reason she didn’t like him is that her crush had a crush on him (something that was not Steve’s fault).
Every character on the show is consistently telling Steve that he is stupid, he can’t win fights (something absolutely untrue), and that he still needs to make up for being kinda a dick when he weas 17. He hasn’t been that way for years, and these are supposed to be his friends. Everyone has been just as much an asshole as we see Steve being in season 1 at some point. Mike and Dustin abandon their friend and don’t go to a very important game for him because he dared to have interests that they thought were stupid, all on the whim of a guy they have known for less than a year. Eddie himself won’t change the day. It would be easy to. Lucas doesn’t have control over the game schedule, but Eddie can change Hellfire. Asshole move. Nancy never recognized her part in the breakup with Steve. He was trying and she was not communicating her needs effectively, and then she told him, in the most brutal way possible, that she had been faking their year long relationship. She could have al least acknowledged that she hurt him and then cheated on him. Again Jonathan took naked pictures from the woods of Nancy without her knowledge, and then developed them in the school darkroom.
I am not saying Steve never messed up and did something wrong. He did. But he was never as bad as both the show and parts of the fandom want to make you believe. He is also the only one who has apologized for his behavior and then changed for the better afterward. Yet everyone in his life won’t let him grow with the change. They are still telling him he is that same asshole, stupid, jock. They keep punishing him for behavior he has grown past for years. Season 4 Steve is still paying for the things season 1 Steve did, where as, all the other characters are allowed to move past their mistakes with out everyone bringing them up every five minutes. Steve is the only character not allowed his deserved redemption arc, even though we watched it happen on screen.
It just kinds bothers me. What is the point of apologies and true regret and sincere growth, if everyone is still going to bring up things you did as a teenager. That really sucks if that is the case. Everyone else is allowed to say sorry and move on. Except for Steve.

I know I shit a lot on the second movie but this scene from it is just outright pivotal on my blog. The way Sean acted this scene, that second where he seems to realize what he's doing and that it's wrong, but then something instantly changes in his body language and he strangles the kid that much harder, followed by him saying 'he made me do it, I'm sorry' - that was the moment the possession idea was born. So in a way, that is a picture of the entity that's messing Collingwood and Lance right up.

Second one is not really a picture, but a very flashy video. The first minute of Clark's Winter Linn video has always been the visual representation of what I think this thing 'looks' like. No generic tentacle monster bullshit. But a thing that constantly shifts and changes in 'patterns' that don't make an real coherent sense. But picture that on a scale of a freaking galaxy.

My version of it isn't your typical muhahaha evil. Hell, at times, it might even do something good, like getting rid of its own cult and such. I play entirely into the concept that it is chaos at its most basic and pure and entirely its own thing, doesn't adhere to any religious or natural law or black and white mentality, really. It isn't even that -smart- and cunning either. Don't get me wrong. It'll make your head spin with its sudden shifts in moods and ideas. It is outright scary how utterly unpredictable it is. It is disastrously flipping gi-normous with incredible power. If it bothered to gain all of them back and develop its full potential and everything that its cult wants, I'm talking universe ending OP type of power and knowledge. But the fun part is that it has no interest in that just yet, if ever. Frankly, it finds almighty power and omnipotence quite fucking boring and utterly predictable. All it cares about is mindless consuming and observing and manipulating. It will kill people and destroy things if it feels like it. But given its psychotic obsessions and the likes, it actually is fairly chill for the most part. Truth be told, it kinda enjoys snacking on powerful villians and evil peops/supernaturals more than your run at the mill normal human 9-5ers, no matter how many of them are really out there. Why go for bulk fast food when you can enjoy a lil well done gourmet diner you get handed in a very secret shady celebrity restaurant?
Once again cannot overstate enough how freaking obsessed this thing is with Lance. Jealous and clingy to the absolute fucking max. I go back and forth on how it'll handle his eventual death. Sometimes I like to think that it 'cares' about him so much it might just let him pass naturally eventually, really let him go so he can be at peace one day. But more and more, I come to the conclusion that it won't. It eventually will try to find a way to literally keep him forever. I'm talking, he gets taken out by a bullet or something, it'll bring him back. And it'll keep bring him back over and over again until there's nothing left to be brought back. That, or it'll go the vampire route with him in the verses I have for that. Meaning that it'll force some vamp to turn him for it so he'll be immortal and stay with it forever.
I just find it generally very interesting how they tick. I make it a big point that this possession isn't forceful or like your typical uncomfortable imprisoned in your own body type of deal. Eventually, it's almost elegant and respectful in a few ways, and obv very tight regardless. It is talking to him all the time. Comments on everything, constantly suggests things or makes fun of them. But it will respect his autonomy and privacy many times as well if he wants for it to be so. Eventually, he'll reluctantly turn it into a two way street and start talking to it a lot more as well, even ask it for its take on things since it knowing literally every last thing he does with the addition of its 'outside' perspectives can paint a pretty fucking accurate and scary picture. That's the point where the lines start blurring and they distort each other. In a way, it's scary how natural it all seems and how well this dance of theirs is choreographed. For the most part, it's because it's genuinely fascinated by the way he ticks and thinks, and because he produces so many struggles and doubts and emotions all by himself. It just has to lean back and enjoy the show. Or he gets to lean back and let it handle the shitty/risky situations without having to fear for his life anymore.

1. not stopping the lobotomy. Don't get it wrong, that level of fear and insanity was one of the biggest feasts to date. But the thing is - now that it's with him and ever so obsessed, no matter how much of a constant and easy food supply his trauma from that really is - it doesn't want as much of a scratch on him. It doesn't want him in physical pain. And if you ever get it started on the fact that he almost died on that table and that they almost ruined everything with that. If it wasn't for the fact that that attack and ritual was what made the possession possible, what made him able to host it, then it would absolutely undo that one.
2. Any time it's decided to let him talk to someone for longer than necessary, and where that results in him caring about those people, those caring about him, and them putting doubts in his head about his relationship with it. It's constantly and awkwardly trying to find the right balance between making him happy and getting him to like it more because of that, and keeping him from being too happy and interested in other people than itself.

I think I need to make a separate post on Bill because... I GET it. He sees some really weird shit going on in the county, and he wants to keep everyone safe. As much as he can - he's very much aware he's just a guy and can't do much on his own. He's been working with Morrison for quite a while as it seems. Morrison, on the opposite, DOES have power, knowledge, experience and money to deal with both supernatural and natural cases. Bill really thinks high of him, as it looks to me, and he has reasons for that. But because of that he closes his eyes to a lot of shady things Morrison does.
Kate: It means that you need to stop making excuses for everyone! For all the shit you let slide! First you don’t quit when Morrison tells you to kill your own partner and now you’re making excuses for Ned cracking a bartender’s skull? Out of nowhere, for no reason? Bill: Kate please, it isn’t – K: It isn’t what? You clearly don’t trust him, not half as much as you pretend to. And if you don’t even realize that… Well, I don’t know what to do with you. B: He’s my partner, Kate. I have to trust him. K: Stop making excuses! You work with a needlessly violent man for a needlessly violent man, and that means I can’t trust you to be any better than the two of them. Not until you wise up.
Bill's hands are tied. If he doesn't comply with Morrison, there's no one to deal with all the supernatural shit going on, and after the April clusterfuck it seems all hell broke loose in Oslow. If Bill doesn't trust his partner - he doesn't, btw, not as much as he wants others and himself to think - how is he supposed to work? They are supposed to have each other's backs, with current situation especially.
Besides, there's always this underlying "there has to be an explanation, maybe I just don't know smth and this isn't as bad as it seems". This is painfully familiar to me. Bill tries his best not to jump to conclusions and often ends up giving too much credit to people who shouldn't really have it.
I think Bill is the idealist who still believes a police officer is someone who's job is to keep people safe. He breaks the rules only when he sees they are going against the very things they are supposed to work for. Killing Sam was against the rules - he wasn't dangerous, he wasn't even an outlaw, he just found himself in a situation, and Bill knew a bit about it. Bill is supposed to protect people, care for them, not blindly follow orders from people who are supposed to know better. So he goes against the order and hides Sam.
And now his world is coming apart. His boss seems to be a merciless monster and a mastermind pulling the strings Bill wasn't aware of, his new partner is just another kind of some weird entity AND was working with Morrison all along... Bill can't trust the very people who are the foundation of his job, of his calling. His on his own now, with no one to trust but Maria and Sam. And damn this is tragic.
I know naivety can be lethal and is considered to be a bad thing, but the world needs people who genuinely care and see the best in others. Doesn't deserve, but really-really needs. And it's soul-crashing to witness one of them, even fictional - fiction is based on real life one way or another after all - to have his beliefs destroyed like that. This is probably personal for me. I remember the feeling, and I wasn't half as good. It feels so unfair, so unjust.
Kate is right that he needs to wise up, but this is still sad.
I think Bill needs a good vacation after all this. He's too good of a person to be mixed up in such stuff and I think the only one in the cast who deserves to have him as anyone at all, as a friend in this case, is Sam. And Robert since he's still putting up with his boyfriend's stubborn desire to think of some people better than they deserve. I think he's the true miracle of this supernatural story 😄

MAG 31 - First Hunt
“Hunted. Yes, I think I’m starting to know the feeling.”
Are you, Jon? Are you? Then why are you still recording statements in this goddamn Institute? Have you not listened to all the times I told you to go away?
I don’t understand what is he doing: he knows there are worms everywhere, he knows they’re surrounded, he’s not even leaving the Institute anymore. And he is the one asking what is Jane Prentiss waiting for.
No, Jon, the real question is: What are YOU waiting for? Why are you still here? Is it possible that the “crimson fate”/curse/whatever is keeping him there? Did the curse activate already? Can someone please grab this man and ran out of the Institute?
Speaking of the statement… it’s so useless, even Jon refused to pay attention to it. And if Jon didn’t care, then why should I?

MAG 32 - Hive
Wow. Wow. That was truly something else.
Seriously, I love the emotional rollercoaster that is this series: if one statement is meh, the next one is a bomb. If one is forgettable, the next one is memorable.
And this is no exception: if the previous statement was boring, this one is huge. Honestly, I didn’t expect Jane Prentiss’ statement now… and I definitely didn’t expect it to be like that! I think this is the most captivating statement so far and not just because of its content, but especially because It’s different, both in style and structure.
It’s different in style because if all other statements have this problem of sounding all very similar to each other (and not because Jon reads them, but because the vocabulary and the stylistic choices are the same, no matter if the statement comes from a student, a criminal, or an old guy), this one has its own voice: Jane Prentiss’ voice. This writing style is unique to her and to her only.
And it’s different in structure because, unlike all others, this isn’t an account of events but rather a stream of consciousness, that offers us a wonderful insight into Jane’s mind and feelings.
And, at least in my case, it made me think about a couple of things:

1) The humanity in the supernatural
Until now I saw Jane just as another supernatural creature, detached from us and from any other human being. She isn’t like us. She is clearly alien to humankind. She is something else.
But here, we see her being a human, just like all of us. She is fearful, doubtful, scared. Just like any of us would be. She has conflicted feelings: she wants a connection with the hive, she feels it’s the right thing to do. But she’s also very scared. It’s so simple and yet, it conveys her humanity so well.
Especially because she does what everyone else would do: she searches for help.

2) Prey or predator?
It’s very interesting that Jane decided to go to the Institute to ask for help. Until now, we have seen a lot of people going to the Institute to record statements - in some cases, even right after something happened. In a way, it’s as if they all subconsciously feel like it’s the best thing to do. As if the Institute can “protect” them from whatever they met. As if, by giving their stories to the Institute, they have an “immunity” from the danger.
If my theory is correct (i.e. the Institute hides the scariest supernatural shit of them all), then Jane went to the Institute because she subconsciously knew the thing hidden inside it was more powerful than the hive. So she did what prey do: they hide behind a bigger predator.
But Jane isn’t a simple prey anymore: she is becoming a predator. She is connecting with the predator. So she can see further than a prey and recognize the real prey:

This part is wonderful, because I can perfectly picture the scene in my mind. I can see Gertrude Robinson giving Jane a pen and paper, then leaving. I can see Jane looking at Gertrude through the glass. I can see her gaze. It’s so powerful and stylistically perfect. 10/10, Love it.

3) Food or connection?
Another element that caught my interest is how Jane always refers to “the song” the hive sings: a song that talks to her, reassures her (“Sings that I am beautiful”) and promises her good things (“I can be consumed by what loves me”).
But do you know what this song doesn’t do? It doesn’t lie. It doesn’t lure Jane into a sense of false security. On the contrary: even if the song tells her good things, Jane is still scared and full of doubts, to the point she asks for help.
That's strange, isn't it? If the hive just wanted to eat/consume Jane, then why scare her? Why give her the understanding that something awful would happen and that she would take part in the violence? Why didn’t the hive sing just to deceive her? It could’ve just sung that she was beautiful and perfect and they would’ve been happy together forever.
But no, the hive’s song was honest. It was a song that helped her understand the hive.
Hence why I don’t think the hive ever wanted to hurt Jane. On the contrary: the hive wanted to find someone receptive enough to “resonate” and “understand” it.

4) All other supernatural shits
If I am right and all the hive wanted was to find a human being who better resonated with it… then was it trying to do the same with every human being it “latched to”? Was it trying to do the same with the girl from MAG 6? And with Timothy Hodge?
In MAG 26, Michael said that “the flesh-hive was always rash”: is it because the hive latches to human beings without truly connecting with them as it did with Jane?
But also: if this is what the hive tries to do… is this what every other supernatural shit tries to do too? Is every supernatural shit “singing a song” and trying to find the human being who will better resonate with them?
And if this is what they’re doing, then how many of the previous statements I read were not just recordings of weird events, but actual attempts to connect? Is this what Simon Fairchild tried to do with Robert in MAG 21? Is this what the supernatural shit in the Institute tried to do with Gertrude Robinson? Is this why she died? Because she didn’t connect with it? Is this the “Archivist’s crimson fate”? A sort of test to see if the Archivist can resonate with the supernatural creature in the Institute?

5) These little shits have names!
If this one is called “the hive”, then I suppose everyone has names. Micheal already has a name, but considering the MAG’s name is “A Distortion” I suppose his name is… idk, Mr. Distortion? That’s kinda funny, but I prefer Michael: it better shows how much of a good boyo he is.

MAG 33 - Boatswain’s Call
Mh, there’s a lot of interesting stuff here.
First of all, we have Tim. Hi, Tim! Glad to know you’re the organized guy here.
This, again, makes me think: this series started with Jon being all like “This place is a mess, I’m here to organize everything and put some order”. But now we find out Jon made a shit ton of mistakes. Very weird, coming from the guy who talked so big about being precise and organized.
So now my question is: was it done on purpose by TMA’s author? Were the mistakes intended to be there? I’ll admit it, I didn’t notice them because I suck with dates and numbers, especially if they have no sense like the case numbers (by the way, I appreciate the explanation, because I thought they were just random numbers).
If these mistakes were made on purpose, then it was a clever writer's choice, because it showed us more about Jon as a character. Now we know he’s not as perfect as he seemed. He can make mistakes. He can be faulty. And being faulty is what makes a character more real, so extra points for that.
However, these mistakes made me think about something else: what if they are proof that Jon isn’t as qualified for his job as he seemed? I mean, Tim looks like a more proper Head Archivist to me: accurate, detail-oriented and with a good memory. Still, it was Jon who got this promotion.
Before MAG 32, I would have joked about Elias being so useless as head of the Institute to hire the less qualified candidate, but now, there could be another reason why Elias chose Jon despite (probably) more competent people. Maybe it’s because Jon has something that can better resonate with the supernatural shit in the Institute.
Ah, so Martin is so scared by the worms to show his tongue to Tim all the time and asks if “it’s infested”. Nice try, bro, next time tell him that you’re oh-so-very-infested and only a French kiss will save you.
O-oh, so this statement features another member of the creepiest family of all time: Peter Lukas. Is he Evan Lukas’ dad, uncle or grandpa?
And, again, the Lukas family appears associated with a fog. Is the fog a supernatural shit? After all, weird things happened in the fog with Naomi too, so maybe it really is the fog.
Also because the fog kinda ate Sean Kelly. Just like the tomb at the cemetery in the fog tried to “eat” Naomi. It’s also very interesting that the third mate refers to this event as “a hard choice”, as if they were forced to feed someone to the fog.
Is this how this supernatural shit in particular works? It needs to be fed? Well, after all, I think that the supernatural shit in the Institute needs to be fed too, so maybe that’s another aspect of these things. Just like they need a human to resonate with, they also need to eat. I really want to know more about them.
One last thing: Elias “gets very twitchy when we look into anything that might conceivably have funding repercussions”. I’m starting to think he gets “very twitchy” not because of money, but because he knows something/he’s in cahoots with the Lukas family and doesn’t want anyone to look too much into them. I want to know more about this guy, he’s just too suspicious at this point.

MAG 34 - Anatomy Class
This statement was weird.
I immediately noticed something was wrong with these names, mostly because I knew John Doe is the placeholder name usually used to refer to dead people whose identity is unknown. I searched for Erika Mustermann and found out it was another placeholder too. So I asked myself: what if all of them are placeholders? It was extremely satisfying to find them all.
And it was great from a writing perspective too, because it perfectly explains why Dr. Elliott doesn’t remember what these guys look like: it’s because they’re all unknown. And since these names are usually used for dead people, it also explains why they’re all very silent and soulless.
I also really liked the idea of them “adjusting their bones” and asking simple questions, because it plays around the concept of “unknown figures” who are trying to look human/alive by asking things and trying to “replicate” them.
It’s a great idea, so the statement should be great too. But it’s not. It’s barely interesting. And I don’t know why, but it’s just… okay.
However, I would give a point for the heart lesson, because it was hilarious. Just imagine, a class with seven creepy figures, each of them with a beating heart in their hand, spraying blood everywhere, trying to look as scary as possible… and Dr. Elliott just points at one heart, then leaves. It was very silly and it made me smile.
Speaking of the apple: it’s weird, fine, but it’s just an apple with teeth. Again, not creepy enough to get my interest.

MAG 35 - Old Passages
“He was dressed all in black, with heavy looking boots and a T-shirt with the logo of some band emblazoned on it”
One sentence and I just knew it was him. My man, the searcher of Leitner’s books, the rebel goth/punk of my heart. The man who just appears and deals with the shit, because mommy “knows everything of this stuff”, but she clearly taught him everything too.
And, since my man Gerard is back, my other favorite man is here too: Jurgen Leitner, aka the menace for mankind. Of course he’s from Norway, I can bet everything he’s from Alesund and he probably looked the supernatural shit of the Institute in the eyes and this is why he has this weird power of creating creepy books. I love him too.
Also, how hilarious it is, to see this man being all like: “Sure, sure, I have all the permits you want, just dig a goddamn hole in my office. What? Do you still want to talk to the owner of the building? But I have everything! Listen, you don’t deserve explanations, powerful shits are working in the back. Okay, you know what? Fuck you in Norwegian”. My man Leitner has business to do and chaos to spread, how dare they stop him from doing his job.
I also loved how Gerard apparently has a sixth sense about where to find Leitner’s books. Or he can smell them like a dog. Still love him.
So today's Learner book was hidden in the shadows and little bones fall from it while Gerard runs away with it. Mmmh, where have I heard something similar?
“Mary Keay took the book back from me and passed it through the shadows once again. More bones fell.” (MAG 4)
So that’s how Gerard found it. He stole it from… Leitner’s weird hidden library or whatever? What an absolute boss: he went, took the book and vanished with some weird magic. I love this rebel boy.
And in the end, even more familiar people: Breekon and Hope deliveries are back! And they have voices! And they talk in the creepiest possible way, almost overlapping the end of Breekon’s sentences with the beginning of Hope’s. And there’s a package for Jon.
How much are you gonna bet that it’s more silver worms? I can almost hear them crawling inside that box, ready to jump on him. Gosh, I really hope that I’m wrong. But in any case, please, do not open the package. If MAG 2 taught us something is: do not open the weird shit delivered at your door.

MAG 36 - Taken Ill
Another okay statement about a weird illness that takes control of a building, the obligatory Guy Who Doesn’t Exist (John Amherst, in this case) and lots of dead people.
But hey, we have something very interesting here: an old man and a young woman with a deep scar over her right eye. Who are these two? And why did Jon immediately think about Trevor Herbert, the Vampire killer from MAG 10? Could it be that he’s alive somehow? Well, I won’t be too surprised: after all, I think Gerard is alive too, so why couldn’t Trevor be alive as well?
And since we’re fishing people & stuff from previous statements, what better way to end this one, if not with more connections? As soon as Tim said they got a table, I KNEW it was the one from MAG 3. I asked for it to come back, and here it is: my beautiful table with the missing piece.
While speaking of the Zippo with the spider web design, there are two possibilities:
the Zippo is a reference to Spider Mom from MAG 16
the Zippo has been delivered by the spider lady I vaguely remember. And that means she will come soon. And if it’s true, can’t wait to meet her.

MAG 37 - Burnt Offering
Well, Jon, if Elias told you to burn the damn table, you burn the damn table. If even this guy, who is suspicious AF tells you to get rid of it, you do it without a second thought.
But nooo, let’s “preserve the knowledge”, “self-preservation is overrated” and “Andorra isn’t a nice place to live”. Goddamit Jon, don’t make me enter the story and throw you out of this Institute.
Speaking of the statement itself, it would just be “guy finds a random circle in the woods and suffers the consequences”, if it wasn’t for two details that caught me by surprise.
The first is that despite Jason North’s concern, it wasn’t his son Ethan North to die, but Jason himself. I wasn’t expecting this, I almost expected Jon to say that “oh look, this poor alcoholic took the life of his son”.
The second thing is, of course, Gertrude Robinson’s photo in that weird ritual circle. Why was her photo there? Who put it there? How many supernatural shits were messing with her? I thought it was just the one in the Institute… but this circle? Really, I don’t know what to think :/

MAG 38 - Lost and Found
I vaguely remembered the name Salesa because it was just too weird to go unnoticed and I was right: he’s the same guy from MAG 14. And if Gerard can smell Leitner’s books, Salesa seems to have the same power of attracting weird supernatural shit.
Also, he has “several crates packed to the brim with heavy-looking volumes” and I can bet everything that in these crates there are at least a couple of Leitner’s books, waiting for their chance to spread chaos in the world as their author intended.
Speaking of the statement, the idea that a supernatural creature lives inside the vase and steals stuff from whoever owns said vase is pretty funny. In the end, it literally said: “Jeez, fine, take back your book and your shoes. I’ll steal yo husband instead”. Adorably stupid, it put a smile on my face.
what an ending! First the epic return of Spider Mom or one of her friends, then Jane Prentiss’ worms: there are too many creatures in this Institute and they’re not cute at all. Gosh, I hope Jon and the gang are all okay.

MAG 39 - Infestation
All the stuff that happened here. ALL THE STUFF THAT HAPPENED HERE.
Let’s take one thing at the time:

Martin is insane (and yet, perfectly IC)
This man spent his time in the Archives analyzing how the worms were moving and the angle and the speed, trying to find out the best weapon to get rid of them. He’s insane.
But you know what? It’s actually coherent with what we saw from Martin until now: he is an anxious guy, he overthinks stuff and he has no self-preservation instinct at all. It’s not so strange that he kept thinking about the worms and tried to find weapons to protect himself - and using them too.

Jon and skepticism
I’ve spent my previous post repeating that everyone had to leave this godforsaken Institute asap, but I was still accepting them not doing it because I know it’s necessary to suspend my disbelief for a while, in order to enjoy a story.
However, since the author of this series is a competent writer, he knows insufferable readers (like me) will probably question why these lovable idiots are still in the Institute and find it annoying/boring/clichè too.
So, he provided an answer. An answer that:
shed some lights on Jon’s character
is coherent with what we know about him until now
Now, I understand why Jon kept recording statements despite all the weird shit happening around him. Now I know and I understand. He’s not doing it because he’s blinded by skepticism: he’s doing it because he wants to know what happened to Gertrude and because he doesn’t want to leave a mystery behind. If he dies, he wants other people to know.
And yes, this is coherent with what we saw until now! Just think about it: at the end of every goddamn statement, Jon always tried to add evidence and make some research: he always tried to bring something real, concrete, tangible. Something that would prove these statements are not just shapeless words.
Speaking more about skepticism: I love that someone finally addressed Jon about it and I love it was Martin, who has proved to be much more prone to believe in the supernatural.
And I love Jon’s answer. Again, it’s very realistic: they have a storage full of supernatural shit, of course Jon believes it’s real. They have actual tangible proof.
So he pretends skepticism. And he has a very valid reason to do it.

The supernatural shit in the Institute is watching

Now I am 200% sure that Jon is actually being watched. There are too many eyes in this series to be a coincidence and I’m starting to think they all belong to whatever supernatural shit is hidden in this place. That thing watches Jon and it probably “possesses” him or similar considering he “loses himself a bit” whenever he reads and I LOVE LOVE LOVE he mentioned it, because I noticed how Jon was getting too much involved every time he read, but I didn’t say anything.
One example? MAG 38:
“I’ve been in the antiques business for a long time. It’s not what it used to be. [Nervous chuckle] I’m sorry, I know.”
This statement isn’t being recorded by the person involved, Jon is reading it. But the nervous chuckle isn’t something someone who is reading would do: this is a reaction someone who is speaking would have. Someone who is telling their story.
When I listened to it, I immediately found it a very odd detail and I thought it was just a writing mistake from the author. But now, I find out it was made on purpose.
TMA’s author is more competent than I thought.

“Real statements”
Jon’s words about the real statements are extremely enlightening and, again, they make the whole series much more realistic.
Until now, I supposed Jon is just a vintage guy who likes to record stuff on a tape recorder because it was more fitting with the atmosphere of “uuuh, old Archive” and because there was no Internet connection at all. Sure, in MAG 1 Jon talked about bringing a laptop, but he also said: “I believe the first computer to ever enter this room is the laptop that I brought in today.” So I simply assumed this place hadn’t a connection. After all, we’re talking about an old place: it’s plausible there’s no Internet.
But now, we have a much better explanation about why Jon uses a tape recorder! And it’s because of the nature of the statements themselves. Only the real ones can be recorded on tape.
I was very pleasantly surprised when Jon said: “Of the hundreds I’ve recorded, we’ve had maybe... thirty, forty that go on tape.”. Not only it’s much more realistic that, in all these months, he didn’t record 38 statements only, but hundreds, but it’s much more immersive too: we are not listening to all the useless pile of stuff, we are listening to the “selected” material.

Finally, Elias decided to show up. Thank you, Elias, for honoring us with your presence. Where have you been until now? To the Suspicious Guys Anonymous Club?
I mean, just look at how he expresses his concern: his new Head Archivist is trapped with most of his staff and they will probably die if he and Sasha don’t do anything, it’s a dangerous situation, they should do something immediately… and his main concern is that he doesn’t really want to find another Archivist so soon.
Wow, a man who truly values human life, now I definitely trust him, yes sure.

MAG 40 - Human Remains
Wow. What a ride has it been.
So, let’s examine every statement:
Elias: he’s still the most suspicious guy ever but you know what? I want to give him the benefit of the doubt. Show me your innocence, Elias. Show me you’re a good guy.
I mean, he seems surprised about the discovery of Gertrude Robinson’s body. And he seems to know nothing more aside from “Gertrude wasn’t there and her desk was covered in blood”. Let’s see how innocent he is.
Tim: my new favorite boy got attacked by the goddamn worms, even though he did some pretty cool stunts. But he also said something very interesting about them: it’s as if there is something in the Institute that makes them “sluggish”. Yes, I’m pretty sure that it’s the supernatural shit of the Institute that did that.
Also, the worms tried to make a doorway for a weird room hidden in these passages? What? How? I don’t think I understand, but my explanation is still the same: the goddamn supernatural shit of the Institute. All its fault.
Sasha: if my boy Tim got hurt, at least he’s still alive and in one piece. Can’t say the same about Sasha. Where are you, Sasha? Have you completely been replaced by Not!Sasha? Where did you hide her, you impostor?
Also, Not!Sasha literally called Michael “Yes, Michael... With the bones in his hands.”. So that’s basically a confirmation that he really is the one mentioned in MAG 8. And she said: “We still don’t know much about him, do we?” which, translated from author-to-reader means “Michael will come in season 2 and we will learn about him”. Yes, please, more of my Best Boyo.
Martin: poor Martin, he really REALLY doesn’t deserve any of this shit. He needs a proper vacation, away from all this shit, where there are no worms and no problems. My offer still stands: Andorra is still a beautiful place to live.
Vacation aside, just how many goddamn rooms are hidden here? Tim found a room, Martin found a room, if we’re not careful we will find 200 rooms hidden everywhere.
And in this room, here she is: Gertrude Robinson. And she’s not dead because the supernatural shit in the Institute ate her, not because some other shit sucked her blood or made something else. She has been shot. Just shot. Three times in the chest. It was a goddamn execution.
Welp, sorry Elias, you had your chance. I can already see you with the gun in your hand, pointing it at Gertrude. It was you, you goddamn suspicious man. I know it was you.
Jonathan: so, some tapes have been stolen. What a coincidence, they are the tapes of MAG 24 “Strange Music” and MAG 26 “A Distortion”. What a coincidence, they’re the only two tapes in which Sasha talks. Wow, I wonder why these two tapes in particular disappeared, I wonder who made them disappear…
Not!Sasha, I know it was you. Everyone knows it was you.
And Jon, instead of being satisfied with this resolution of Gertrude’s “case”, he’s even more determined to get to the bottom of this.
“I’m going to figure this out, and I’m not going to stop. They’ll have to kill me first.”
Just… don’t tease them, Jon. whoever is behind all of this (read: Elias and the Lukas family) I doubt they would think twice before shooting you in the chest like they did with Gertrude. Don’t test your luck too much.

In conclusion
Update on my theory about the supernatural shit in the Institute:
This shit (which I will call “Big Brother” for obvious reasons) is watching everything. The Lukas family brought it from Norway and uses the Institute as a “feeder” to feed it. Gertrude Robinson, as Head Archivist, was supposed to be “tested” and see if she resonated with it, to become… I don’t know, Big Brother’s new body or something similar.
But before the right time came, she found out what Elias/the Lukas family wanted to do. And she tried to defy them/escape from her fate. First, they tried to get rid of her in some magic other way (like the ritual circle from MAG 37), but when they somehow failed (maybe Gertrude had someone protecting her, just like Jon seems to have some “protectors”), they resorted to a good old gun and bam, problem solved.
And yes, I’m sure it was Elias who shot her.
So, since Gertrude was dead, Elias & the Lukas family decided to just feed the rest of the staff to the supernatural shit and find a new Head Archivist that will resonate with Big Brother and, hopefully, become its new body.
Jane Prentiss was somehow okay with Big Brother - or just with the idea of bringing more violence. While Michael wants to protect Jon. And same goes for the Spiders Gang, which includes the spider lady I remember and Spider Mom - who I think are the same person. Maybe the lady can turn into a spider, why not?
And since I’m speaking of turning into other things, I have a theory on Michael. Since TMA’s author seems very competent and creative, I want to give him more credit. Hence, I believe there is a reason why this season has been packed with a lot of people named Michael. And no, I don’t think the reason is a sudden lack of creativity - especially coming from a guy who invented a ton of different stories and names. I think there’s a reason if all these guys are named Michael and the reason is that these Michaels are all the same Michael: Michael the Supernatural Shit.
After all, this Michael can warp/twist/change his bones and (probably) body too, so would it be so impossible that all the random Michaels in several MAGs were always him, just with a different appearance?
One last thing: my impression about the series until now is still positive. This first season served as a introduction to the characters, the mysteries and the structure of the series itself and did its job very well. There’s a closed ending with the resolution of Jane Prentiss’ mystery and we find out how Gertrude died too. But there are also enough open questions to keep you involved: what really happened  to Gertrude? What is the Institute hiding? What about Michael? What about all the other mysteries?
Sure, not all statements are perfect and the writing isn’t perfect either - and it’s a shame, because considering all these statements come from different people, it would’ve been a great writing exercise to give a different voice to each of them.
However, I’m not too critical of this. Mr. Sims (TMA’s author, not the character) wrote 40 statements each with its own kind of horror/mystery and they are all connected to the main story that will develop throughout 5 seasons. That’s A LOT of work: expecting perfect writing from each statement would be unattainable and, from my side, unreasonable.
What’s more important, for me, it’s the attention to details and boy, there’s A LOT of it. When I started this series (and like I do every time I start something), I didn’t give any trust to its author: it’s too easy to find sloppy works made without any care, than find something meticulously organized.
With these 40 statements, Mr. Sims is proving to me that he has a vision, a big picture and that he knows how to put it into words. There is love and care, there is attention, coherence and internal logic.
Hence why, now I want to give him more credit. And with that, my expectations are rising as well: first I just wanted something good, now I want backstories. Why? Because backstories explain the present. Decisions, personalities, events even: all can be explained with a logical, coherent background.
Let’s see if Mr. Sims really thought about everything ;)
So, one season done, four more to go. How many things will happen? Will Sasha ever come back? Will Elias stop being suspicious for five minutes? Will Martin take a vacation? Will Jon survive all of this? And what about my favourite boys? Will they come back too?
I am hyped for season 2 and ready to start, so I’ll surely be back in a week with more posts.
