What really doesn't make sense is that they implied that the wormhole is a great transportation method and lots of ships use it which improves Bajor's and DS9s commerce but on the other hand: nobody knows shit about the gamma quadrant - the species there or artifacts or nothing. So how are trade shipments going through?? To and from whom? Or from where??? They've already set up a mine ?

sooo glad you're a) talking about the VERY present themes of sm in MHA, but also b) not making yourself overly available to explain that stuff to strangers on the internet, since it's a kind of thing that is kind of uhh up to personal interpretation. like a ton of anime and manga have strong sm themes/images, and half the time its just because the imagery is just plain FUN for the artists to draw, and half the time because there's a lot of like. religious/moral themes being explored in (particularly long form graphic novel) stories AND s&m uhhh practices and lots of that stuff has absolutely nothing to do with sex and also a lot of it does. trying to make any calls about authorial intent where those themes overlap is suuuuch nebulous territory and probably need to be explored by the reader for themselves. also: how many authors talk about 'i love my little guy, I need to put him through the horrors'- that's the sadomasochism babes!!! it's how a lot of people engage in story telling, we need to call it what it is without attaching moral value to it because that's just a facet of normal regular human engagement with the world ✌️

Thank you. And look, I'm just out here saying a lot of the best climactic manga moments people love involve their favorites getting tortured in one way or another. And I think such themes are present in all sorts of media aimed at even like elementary school kids (or sometimes superficially censored TO BE "suitable" for such ages). And even if MHA in some ways takes some things a step further than its contemporaries, it's faaaaar from the first manga to do anything like this. In fact I'd even call some of its themes in this regard tame.

But also MHA do be having some kinky shit [/pos] sometimes and it's shocking to me that we're on chapter 396 and this is still news to some people given it shows up pretty blatantly in like the first chapter.

I think the weirdest flex I have is that as a toddler I spotted the (in my mind at the time) craziest and most beautiful caterpillar ever in my garden.

During the time I had a playmate over so we obviously - you know the way toddlers are - ran after the caterpillar to watch it… only that I couldn’t find it anymore and then discovered that I accidentally stepped on it (this still haunts me btw, even 14ish years later)

So I made it my life’s mission to figure out which species of caterpillar it was that I so vaguely remembered murdering in broad daylight. (Yes I was most definetly the Batman of bugs)

But I never found it, no matter how much I fed google with terms to decribe my blurred memory of the caterpillar throughout the years.

That is until one of the last lessons of Biology class I’ve ever had, where our teacher used a specific example of a moth because it was quite rare since it only consumed one specific plant (which was by the way poisonous to every other animals, humans too)

And you guessed it. He threw the Powerpoint presentation on the wall and there - after more than a decade - I saw my Moby Dick. The bug I so desperately wanted to find my whole life.

It was called “cinnabar moth” (the term in my native language was much cuter by the way) and this is what it looked like as a caterpillar and as a moth:

sooooo i’ve been writing a short story for my uni’s newspaper contest the last few days, going strong at the last scene for four hours now (it do be 3 a.m.) and i just finished and i know i have editing to do, but the fact i had the last sentence written in my notes app and finally typed it into the word doc, pressed save and instantly got a bunch of dopamine slapping me across the brain--- SB TELL ME WHY THIS GOTTA BE SO FUCKING SATISFYING EVEN THO I KNOW I AIN’T GONNA WIN WITH A PESSIMISTIC PIECE ABOUT CHILDREN KILLING EACH OTHER BECAUSE GOD MAKES ADULTS INTO NASTY FANATICS

these 7k words aren’t worth the hype but they are in my mother tongue which is a bitch to write in considering punctuation so that’s that
