there was a reason that mark tends to stick to smoking joints. the high from joints sat mainly in his head, making things a bit swimmy and a tad sleepy, but ultimately bearable. edibles, however, were a horse of a different color entirely. edibles were a full body high, making his limbs feel heavy and heightening certain other sensations. at least this year he didn't have to make the trek to an anonymous bar or hide out in his room. he straddles his musician, one arm resting on roger's shoulder while his hand runs through roger's hair. "pay attention to me. i'm high," he whines.

young man is nursing tired eyes underneath the hood, though now his face is clearly seen from the lining. he looked as though he had taken a punch, or four . . . greasy blond hair scattered &. stuck up in different directions.

the fatigue in his face is far from weed-induced, nor anything more nefarious than being worn down. he'd expected to succumb to some sort of end, though any moment of danger spells paranoia.

though his mug flexes, recoils even, when her hands (too grace-filled to touch his maggot infested skin) place themselves with worry . . . worry hurt. felt like poison. felt like parents who neglected, who damaged, &. their anguished cries over son's grave. destined to live this recurring cycle their brains force out, while kenny's endures. nothing ever changes. they let him die, &. so he does. though you never forget the death cries of one's own mother.

"hey! - don't fucking touch me, lady!" gangling fingers trail fallen garb &. lifts his hood back up over his head with a poignant tug of strings. childish retreat, the scab on his lip is tongued as hardened eyes hit the ground. huffing. "-- i'm fine, okay?"

She's high as a kite, floating in space and thrilled. The music around Rabbit sounds as if she can feel it against her flesh, and when she spots her Papa sitting with a cigar, she can no longer help herself. Secondo takes a puff and she leans in, cups his chin, and presses her lips to his, tongue begging entrance before she sucks in his mouthful of smoke herself. The necromancer coughs, laughs, pats her Papas cheek before offering him some water and wandering off to make sure everything is still in order. Even blitzed out of her mind, she's dutiful.

A successful party to be sure. As always, Rabbit had been indispensable in procuring party favors and attendees in equal measure.

Really, she had gone above and beyond in her duties, and it was that time of night when the highs gave way to the mellow numbness of the low of good liquor and weed.

Sprawled out in his chair, he's enjoying one of the finer cigars from his collection, blowing the occasional ring as an easy form of amusement.

Rabbit inserting herself into his personal space is far from unexpected, but the lips slotting against his is. He's giving her permission before he even things to smack her away, exhaling the warm smoke into her mouth.

He can't help but chuckle as she coughs, an endearingly human trait in the moment before she's taking care of him once more and he's left with water and the knowledge they can have an interaction without hating each other on some level.

It is a marvel.
