Okay, but how about:
Stede hears that raiding weddings is what Blackbeard does now. He wants Ed's attention. The obvious solution: organizing a wedding!
So he organizes a big wedding (under a false name, obviously), spread the word, and when the day comes, he waits.
Blackbeard comes, guns blazing, only to find Stede waiting for him with a ring.

Sunday well spent? (we'll see if this one get's somewhere 🤭)
Taylor
They say staying friends with your ex is a gamble because you’ll always have intimate feelings for them. They never do go away, He’ll agree with that, but didn’t think about that when him and Hayley broke up only because the curly haired man couldn’t imagine life without her after she’d been with him for so long. Meeting someone like Hayley was a privilege and he’s not saying that just because they were once together. What that tiny fire cracker brought to the relationship is what she brought to their friendship before and after they were together. Her excitement for life put a smile on his face when nothing else would, and it continues to do so.
People say watching your ex move on is heartbreaking, and he does agree with this too, but somehow, he’s managed. She’s dated for two years after him. It’s been the same guy. He’s avoided being alone with them, for his own sanity, but slowly the burning jealous monster inside of him began to cool soon enough. It wasn’t an overnight occurrence. It took weeks and months, but that smile on her face made it all better.
Nothing, however, would have prepared him for Hayley’s wedding day, marrying someone else.
She’s always said that she only wants to get married once because it’ll be with the right person. Taylor thought that person would be him, but there she was, looking beautiful in her white dress, wavy hair, and excited smile. She was unable to stand still for the entirety of the ceremony.
He recalls it clearly. She sent him a nervous look and then furrowed her brow when she read the expression on his face. Taylor wouldn’t have been able to hide his hurt. Her green eyes went soft and then her expression turned apologetic. He wanted to tell her that he was happy for her, but standing there in the front row next to her sisters and mother, the curly haired man felt anything but happy. He felt stupid in his suit and tie. Angry at himself for not fighting for her harder two years before. Felt like the love of his life was slipping away and this was his last chance.
Say something, a voice in his head screamed. Say it now!
Taylor opened his mouth. Hayley raised her eyebrows and her eyes widened. He thinks she leaned towards him. But then the music began to play and the priest stepped into the room. He tore his eyes from her before she could, unable to stomach the look she was about to give him. His mouth closed and the ceremony proceeded.
This was a year and a half ago. They say that fifty percent of marriages fail, and most fail in the first two years.
Nothing could have prepared him for Hayley’s wedding, but nothing could have prepared him for Hayley’s divorce either.
Xxxx
November 1
He's been in weird places with Hayley the weirdest hours, but this is a new one. They’re in the bathroom stall, the tiny blonde’s hand hovering over the toilet holding a valuable item that should not seem all that important to her now, but she’s hesitating at the last moment. It was her idea to come here after all, the bathroom of a bar at nearly two in the morning, but neither of them is drunk and everything has come down to this. All the arguments, all the late nights, all the tears. It ends now.
They’re cramped in this stall, barely standing a few inches apart. He has a clear view of Hayley’s face and all the emotions passing over her features. She’s sad, but also determined. Confused, but her mind is set.
Her shoulders drop. “It’s fucking engraved in his grandmother’s handwriting. Jesus Christ.”
Taylor pokes her arm, hard. “Don’t go soft on me now, Williams. His grandma won’t care.”
She gives him a pointed look. “And how do you know that?”
“Her grandson ruined your life. I’m pretty sure she’ll let this one slide, Hayles”
“He didn’t…” Hayley trails off, knowing he’s right. The curly haired man nods at her and raises his eyebrows to acknowledge the ring in her hand. It’s a fancy one, gold all around with a neat engraving inside. She reads it one last time and then takes a deep breath.
“Okay.” She holds the ring over the toilet. In a voice that suggests otherwise she says, “I’m ready.”
He gets into position, holding his finger over the flush tab. “Let’s do this.”
“Let’s count to five.”
“Let’s do three.”
Taylor hears her sharp intake of air. “Okay. Sorry.”
“It’s okay.”
“One, two…three.”
It happens quickly. She drops it and he swiftly flushes it down before she can have second thoughts and then they both stand side by side watching the ring get flushed away. Somewhere behind them, a light bulb goes out and it’s suddenly darker in the stall. When he glances at her, Taylor can barely make out her features, but the hard line of her mouth is clear.
Hayley turns and looks at him when the ring is gone. She suddenly steps forward and holds her arms out, wrapping them around the curly haired man and squeezing until he’s struggling to breathe. Her neck is exposed due to her blonde hair being tied out of the way, and Taylor’s nose presses into the column of her throat.
“This really sucks” She whispers in his ear. He holds her firmly to his chest, gently guiding her head to his shoulder.
“I know” Taylor says, though he really doesn’t. “We can get through this. I’m sure of it.”
He holds her until she releases him and asks to be taken home. Since neither of them is drunk, it’s no question that it’s time to head back. What they came to do has been done, a mission gone not-so-smoothly, but successful in the end nonetheless.
Hayley climbs into his car and sits with her head against the window.
As he’s driving, Taylor glances down at her naked fingers, a weird unsettling feeling in his stomach. She’s too silent for his liking, but the curly haired man can practically hear the relentless thoughts in her head joining in with his. For the first time that night, he regrets making Hayley flush her wedding ring. After all, it was his idea, and now that he ponders over it, worrying if he's offended her, he realizes how dangerous the ground they're treading on is. If she doesn’t say something soon, crack a joke or make a passing comment about how it’s funny that they keep catching red lights, he may have to say something. The worst part is that Taylor doesn’t know what he could even say to make her feel better.
“Hey” she says a little while later, sitting up. Relief floods him immediately. “Can I ask you something?”
“Sure.”
She pauses, still glancing out the window. “When I was getting married, standing up there, do you remember when I looked over at you?”
Discomfort pricks at his neck. “Of course.”
“I think about it a lot. Your face, I mean.” He sees her clearly when they stop at yet another red light and she turns her head towards him. Taylor can’t read her expression well enough though, something that frightens him because he was once able to read her with a single glance and now, doesn’t have the ability. He recalls bragging about it for years, but now is debating just how well he knows her. “I remember it so clearly T. You weren’t crying, but there was so much pain on your face. It’s like I’d just…I don’t know. Like I’d done something horrible to you.”
He doesn’t reply, focused on the red light. He stares at it until his brown eyes water. When the light turns green, Taylor jerks the car into motion. Hayley has to grab onto her arm rest.
“You didn’t say it was me” she continues, “but it felt like it was me. I’d done something, right? And I never realized it. I was so stupid for inviting you to that wedding.”
He swallows, looking down at the cup holder for a bottle of water to relieve his aching throat. “You don’t think I should have been there? On your happiest day?”
“I’d never seen that expression on your face before T. And I haven’t since then. But it was there on my wedding day, and I’ve been thinking about it so much. If I could go back and avoid it, I would.”
Hayley’s normally fast speech is so incredibly slow now, carefully saying each word. “You looked betrayed” she says quietly. “Hurt.”
He brings the car to a stop in front of her house. “I was hurt” Taylor admits, reaching for her trembling hand. There’s no cold metal to prevent his entire hand from touching her. “But you were happy. It was either going to be you or me.”
“But I’ve been thinking” she insists, squeezing his hand back, “about how I’d feel at your wedding. And I’ve only realized now how ugly the feeling would be. We’d been together for so long. We were always planning a wedding.”
He removes his hand from her grip. “I’m not going to sit here and make you feel bad for being happy Hayles. Because you were happy for years. This divorce is making you think of things that could have been, but we can’t go back and fix it, so why bother? You were happy with him. That’s a fact. You married him and that’s a fact. You got divorce. That’s the fact we’re working on digesting. You have too much on your plate to be worrying about me.”
“Do you…” she begins suddenly, “do you ever feel like we…”
Hayley’s green eyes widen and she stops, looking away as if she can’t believe what she was about to say. Her shoulders fall again. “I’m so tired. Goodnight, T. I’ll see you soon?”
Disappointment grows inside him when she doesn’t continue. “Yes” he assures her softly. “I’ll see you.”
The tiny blonde disappears inside of her house. Taylor drives away with an uncomfortable feeling in his stomach. It’s returned more than once since Hayley announced her divorce, and he still doesn’t know how to identify it though it’s been weeks. When the curly haired man gets home, the feeling has settled deep within him and doesn’t show any signs of leaving.

I know the brainrot is strong but I really can’t shake the idea that Ed&Stede are gonna get married - whether it’ll be in this season or the next.
Because… just imagine if they’d keep the wedding toppers that Ed stole.
(I mean Stede would probably cry out of the sheer wave of emotions that would hit him as soon as he’d find out about them… come on, the guy couldn’t even decide on a flag and instead hung all of his crew’s designs up like a dad who pins his kids’ drawings to the fridge)
And eventually there would be a parallel shot of the time Ed stole them from the straights to “current day” where the painted versions are sitting on a brand new wedding cake and as the camera zooms out we see them at an improvised altar on the Revenge, holding hands and smiling like the goofy head-over-heals in love idiots that they are.
