its been about a year and a half since i posted that reycho venn diagram. i am now enlightened (and a dedicated wec fan) so i have updated it after seeing it in my notifs sporadically since then

World's End Clubs spoilers;

So we have this group of 11 kids!!!

Reycho, Kansai, Pochi, Mowchan, Vanilla, Tattsun, Aniki, Pai, Nyoro, Chuko, Jennu

(And Yuki, but she's added on later!!)

So they're going on some field trip to Tokyo (I think??) And then there's suddenly a meteor and they blackout, waking up in an underwater theme park where they're forced to play a killing game (fun fact; made by the creators of Danganronpa...) BUT the killing game is a lie, the mastermind behind it found out later!!

You lead Reycho to victory, Pochi being the only one you can really trust, he trusts you too, but gets eliminated soon

So you win a key to open any lock, and you can "choose" to open the door to the outside world or the bot that "kills" the rest of your friends. (Choose is in quotations because... vanilla stops you from opening the damn door.)

Reycho has some super throwing power too.

So they get out in Fujisaki (I think?? Is that even how you spell it? Either way -- FAR away from where they're supposed to be) and find out they're in a post-apocalypse world. Everything's overgrown, the powers out, and there's literally mutated plants that try to eat them... which is cray zee. (Hence the name World's End Club!)

So they all end up having powers, slowly revealed throughout the game.

We find Yuki, she falls out of the sky with amnesia, during a snowstorm. (Also not too important but Pochi gets kidnapped by a fucking Yeti. That apparently wanted to make him it's wife? Idk it's funny to me)

We learn about X-Types, people that can talk to Otherworlders (aka us, the players!!) Reycho protects the Go-Getters (aka all 12 of them) and it turns out he's a robot, with Pochi controlling him.

So they kick Pochi out, because their leader was a robot being controlled by him?? That makes sense.(/s)

They eventually realize that Pochi was literally the one saving them this whole time, but are attacked by MAIK's robots!!

(MAIK is a robot Nyoro's dad built, there's a literal cult for MAIK... MAIK even refers to MAIK as a god?? <- I don't think MAIK has pronouns canonically. Slay for the el gee bee tee's)

MAIK is literally pronounced Mike. It's crazy

So you'll never guess... Pochi is also a robot!! Sent by MAIK to spy on the Go-Getters!! But he gains emotions and with the magic of friendship (🐎) he decides to go against MAIK and protect them!!

So they also find out Pai can like. See ghosts and shit and that Vanilla is a ghost (it's her power, she's not actually dead) and that literally everyone blames themselves for her death?? Which she saved them by doing it... A truck was gonna hit them so she died so it didn't.

Another side note, Kansai's hero is Jennu's dead sister's husband or something?? Which is so crazy

So they find out Vanilla is in HEAVEN - an organization or something? MAIK's mainframe is also there so they go there to save Vanilla or whatever... So you'll never guess what happens next; Yuki is apart of MAIK.

And that cult I mentioned earlier? The leader, Master (WHO NAMES THEIR KID THIS.), is here to kill them, with a semi-repaired Reycho who now wants to kill them!! It doesn't work because the magic of friendship makes him jump into MAIK's shield, killing him again and disabling it.

So there's an epic boss battle because they still want Yuki to be alive so using Vanilla's coding skills or whatever they program it so only Yuki is alive.

Reycho isn't dead. He's alive and walks into the room after they go "all of us are back together!!" "No... we're missing one..." "Reycho..." and he can speak now!! Insane!!

Also Chuko and Kansai are like?? Enemies to lovers or something??

i think this is the right time to admit that a proper shovson pacrim AU isn't happening lmao or maybe not any time soon (or maybe ever) becauseee... the whole drift thing is so driver/driver coded and the rivalry it could mean... idk.. i LOVE pacrim AU as a concept but sometime the shoe doesn't fit. the same goes for my shovson wec AU... again, love the idea, but it's kind of a nightmare. not as big of a nightmare as WWI AU (which is also in danger), but still!!!

btw thanks to a friend that was so kind to lend me her rain code copy (tysm arisa if you see this) I've been able to play it - im currently on the mystery labyrinth of ch2, so here's some impressions of the game under the cut (mind the spoilers) (and also dont send spoilers ty)

Love the visuals of the game! I think the 3d is implemented really well and the setting of Kanai Ward is really fun - I just wish there was a pc port because the switch hardware is just. man. I wish I could see everything in HD instead of 380p but it might just be the switch lite lmao

I like shinigami's magical esque's sequences I just hate that they reduced the utena reference to another sex joke. cant have shit in kanai ward

speaking of references, I do like the danganronpa easter eggs but I liked the ace attorney stepladder one even more

I also really like shinigami I just wish she would shut up sometimes

same with desuhiko lmao

prologue was the strongest part of the game so far, MAYBE because it is reminescent of the 'locked place' murders in dr, maybe because everyone gets wasted, i dunno, it was just really fun

ch1 completely lacked what I'd call the emotional component that usually makes games like AA and DR stand out to me - ie I don't have any strong attachment to the victim or the accused, so I feel like I'm just solving puzzles. the puzzle part was still fun tho, and Halara is a great character

ch2 kinda fixed that emotional component with the girl-I-cant-remember-her-name-sorry that you spend time with before the second murder happens

ch2 also felt really fun from a campy perspective, with the disguise stuff going on!! (I do wish shinigami would stop calling yuma a pervert for trying to investigate a murder while dressed as a girl tho)

I do like chief yakou, he's cool in that very pathetic sad man kinda way

I really really love the sprite work, it's SO fun to look at the character's expressions,,, I also love desuhiko's goofy design, it's so fun

you can really feel the budget behind this one, unlike WEC that was just,,, a pain both gameplay wise and story wise, unfortunately 😔 I'm still sad it didnt turn out as good as I wanted it to be

anyway ive been having fun so far so I look forward to keep playing it

Ok so... I've been biased on Worse EC so far. This is the first time I've used the ask box on this blog, may I ask when worse Veno dies and returns to being Cherubim, does he feel any kind of remorse in his last moments like in the canon novel? Most importantly, does he confess to Gumina or not? Ty for receiving this question!

so i brought up wouldnt it be really tragic if cherubim never loved gumina romantically at all and mistook platonic feelings for romantic ? i also thought "that would break idioticremi's heart if i did that nooo" and then i did it because im a cruel person.

so gumina hears his "confession" and takes it as romantic (which she feels) and to save her ass says the Thing and hes. so upset because it feels like hes losing his single friend hes ever had in his life. and then he ends up loathing her and figuring out he doesnt really do that romance thing and the person he really values is mikulia bc she values him the same amt and listens and respects him and such and i dont really remember what ive already written abt her and their relationship lol

so no , i dont think he is going to confess to her . the whole situation is really complicated and even in death i dont think either of them (cheri, gumi) have enough information or emotional intelligence to be in any kind of relationship. i want gumina to realise he's cherubim before she dies tho.

as for feeling remorse . i want him to feel at least a little remorse. i think i already explained how the whole lust thing works or 2 be more precise how it does not with sati in particular so i will skip that. most of the torture and murder was for fun okay. he feels bad about that. but there was also an element of self defense too which he does not feel bad about AND ALSO mixing that with poor socialization is . so weird. oh my god. this poor guy.

Mod Una here for this last part! Anything with Cherubim after the Lust Arc ends is pretty loose, for example the harem reuniting in the Hellish Yard. The only part we're both certain about is that Gumina and Cherubim do NOT want to be around each other again. He wants to see Mikulia <3 (not sure about Lukana, their relationship is complicated)

all of aini. the entire thing. all of it. it could have been good if literally everything about it was different i could fix it i'm gonna grind my teeth into dust etc. and uhhh. vlr clover. there are other objectively worse things about vlr and ztd but clover is my everything. wec was fine. ignoring the gameplay issues it was just like. yeah. i can't remember any part of it i really disliked.
