my website is blocked by various internet providers, especially ones using classification lists by symantec (i am misclassified by them, but the chances of getting that fixed are pretty low). this can be bypassed (also for other sites filtered by your ISP) by following the setup instructions of a third party DNS server such as cloudflare dns (1.1.1.1) or quad9 dns (9.9.9.9), which is much easier than you might think!

talked to my thesis advisor today about how i am in the torture labyrinth micromanaging my thesis partner and she was so nice.... she was super understanding of my concerns..... she affirmed that i should NOT have to do the amount of work i've been doing.... she came up w a plan.... she promised my graduation won't be at risk if he doesn't do his part... perhaps there IS hope after all.... ‼️

"but spacie, i have no followers why should i reblog things" let me answer this question using myself, a person who has been using tumblr for almost a decade now, as an example. pre 2022 the most followers i ever had was like 125. most of them were dead blogs. killed in the porn ban or just people who had left for whatever reason. out of the people left who were still active, i had like 3 people at the most interact with my blog on a monthly basis. for years b4 this, i had ZERO FOLLOWERS but upon making my blog i saw all the other ppl who had been using this website longer than me talking abt how important it was ta reblog shit, and throughout all these years on tumblr, even when i had no followers i reblogged things. b/c i understood that it was integral ta the way this site functions.

now mind you, just b/c i had no followers didn't mean ppl wouldn't stop by and reblog things from my blog. every couple months id have a new person find me and reblog something. maybe they'd reblog a lot of stuff! the point is that id go months without any interaction at times and i STILL reblogged things because i knew people could find me and see something they liked on here. eventually people who frequently checked my blog ta see what i would reblog followed me!! im sure there’s ppl who dont follow me that ta this day who still reblog the stuff on here!! the point is that it genuinely doesnt matter how many followers you have. sure, it certainly helps, but ppl can still find and interact with the things on your blog without you having thousands or even hundreds of followers. so PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE reblog things.

The New Gallery's Billboard 208

January 27th - June 30th, 2024

let’s meet at the confluence is a suggestion to all Calgarians to consider the site where the Elbow flows into the Bow river and question how settler-colonial history is privileged in public and site specific art. The piece references the different histories of gathering at the confluence of the waters, histories that long predate Calgary, Alberta. Despite histories of Indigenous uses of the land, queer cruising, sex work, trade, the arrival of the railway, and the North West Mounted Police, the site of the confluence is often overlooked and rarely used as the great meeting place that it once was. The simple map and text invites an audience of all backgrounds, Indigenous and non-Indigenous alike, to make their way from the The New Gallery along the Bow river to the confluence viewpoint and to consider their proximity to one another. The text is in English and the word confluence is repeated in multiple languages including Blackfoot, Cantonese, and Cree to honour the artist’s Michif roots and the specific location of the billboard on Treaty 7 and in Chinatown, pointing to the history of many different people living along the rivers.

like you people realize that on a website of mostly people who are gay and/or trans having sex in high school was literally not an option for many of us. i was the only out lesbian at a very small high school in utah where about half my classmates were actively mormon, and i was double ostracized for being butch, and it literally wouldn’t have been possible for me even if i was ready to have sex at that age which i wasn’t. the majority of straight people don’t even have sex in high school. i genuinely think it’s both mean on a very immature level and completely ignorant of reality to make a big deal about.
