some kind soul uploaded the full q&a that fall out boy did the other night! here is a highlights reel of things that grabbed me while i was watching for those who don't have time to watch:
they have a rapport with the interviewer and have hung out with him a bunch. patrick says they spent like 30 minutes making fun of couches last they hung out lmao
pete describes working with neal avron as being held like an enchanted forest creature with him standing inches from pete's face and saying "what. are. the songs. about." and pete going "oh my god he's looking into my fucking soul rn"
when asked what their favorite meal is, andy says "mom's spaghetti" and doesn't elaborate, patrick says "sushi" and doesn't elaborate. pete says that he's like the joker and he's a simple man and today he had a full english breakfast and he didn't know what to do with half the stuff that showed up.
pete talks about discussing the name of "the beatles" with elliot ingham (their photographer) and says he finally understood that their name was a pun. he says about this "i'm not the sharpest tool in the shed" and doesn't realize he's referencing a meme. the crowd immediately fills him in that it's a lyric by smash mouth. andy clowns on him for this right after: "he's NOT the sharpest tool in the shed"
the host says that pete seems very intellectual. pete says "i PROMISE you that's not true."
when asked about formative musical influences andy and patrick both cite familiar names (andy namedrops drummers for bands like slayer and metallica, patrick says his dad being a folk singer was a huge influence and the 1989 danny elfman batman score). pete says joy division but says he's a visual person and most of his influences are movies.
there's a moment where patrick and pete banter and pete points at the host and says "he just told me i'm smart, i'm trying to live up to it!!" and patrick says in this very small high pitched voice "please be nice to pete!"
anyway pete says his biggest influences are "all the twilight movies except for the one where they introduce [i have no idea what he says here because the crowd promptly goes apeshit]" and also lego batman.
for newer artists patrick says he really likes the new zulu record and the new incendiary song. he says he also likes MSPAINT, alvvays, and another band i couldn't catch the name of
pete says he likes all of patrick's recommendations and says he also likes games we play. andy doesn't give any artists but says patrick gave a "great list" because he's VERY jet-lagged. he's keeping it together as best as he can tho lmao
when asked about if they would ever do a fashion runway show like they did in 2013, patrick says he was embarrassingly short for the whole thing. "i'm at like, bellybutton level." so he says he doubts they would ever be invited back to do something similar "unless they want a bunch of hobbits"
someone asks about producing and patrick gets really in depth with what producing is like and uses "from under the cork tree" as an example - "nobody puts baby in the corner" was barely adjusted from demo form but "sugar we're goin down" had totally different verses at first until they got better direction from the producer.
when asked about what their favorite video to film was, pete says youngblood chronicles WASN'T a lot of fun to make because it was like 9 months with fake blood in your hair and clothes that haven't been washed oNCE. he also didn't love doing the prosthetics for "love from the other side"
the host asks if they've seen the last of us and pete says yes but points at andy and says "he hasn't seen the last episode though so no spoilers!!!" which i thought was very sweet. he then follows that up with "just watch the fuckin episode so we can talk about it!"
patrick and andy said they shot a music video recently that was a "blast" but it's not out yet. pete calls it "very fun, very funny." the crowd starts cheering and patrick hastily says "YOU HAVEN'T SEEN IT! you're under NO obligation to like it! but if you do then that's good :)"
patrick says one of the best parts of being in a band is that they all have imposter syndrome but in different ways so they can build up each other's ideas even if they don't believe in their own.....
pete's very nervous about the lyrics to this album cause he's not sure they'll be relatable since he has a lot of "insane fears day to day about not existing." he went to a lot of places that were terrifying to him and he was like "should i talk about this to my therapist" but his therapist said "put this in your lyrics"
"heaven, iowa" was the song that took the longest to come together on this record. this is followed by a rly long anecdote from patrick that im putting in another post cause it honestly made me howl.
when asked about who they'd most like to collaborate with, andy without hesitation says "ourselves" and nothing else. pete says he wanted a kid cudi feature on the album but it didn't work out since he was either busy or ghosted them fldjflkdf
when asked what song are they tired of playing that they can't cut from the setlist and they DON'T want to answer. patrick says some songs have really high notes that are demanding physically for him but that's as specific as he gets lol
pete's like "well we've got this punk song we end all our shows with from one of our earlier albums and it gets very chaotic and sometimes it's a bit of a fancy crowd of people who are like 'i like centuries, i like some of their other songs....i write sins...' and before we start the song i'm like. oh god this is gonna be bad."
when asked about the songwriting process, patrick says: "pete sends me lyrics, i mine them for stuff i like, and....i hate starting answers like this i feel like i've been saying this all MONTH. so i have ADHD - " [crowd fucking goes wild]
when asked about which projects they're proudest of outside of fall out boy, patrick turns to andy and says "andy is very quiet about being in like thirty bands" but andy says he's proud of "all of it"
patrick remarks that he's heard some love for soul punk but is also super grateful he gets to do film and tv scoring now too! he says he likes that when he's talking to people and they ask what he does and if they don't know bands or anything he can say he likes scoring for film and tv and their eyes glaze over and there are no follow-up questions LMAO??
pete is proudest of the bands on his record label!
for favorite songs on the new record, patrick says he likes "what a time to be alive" and says the lyrics are "so tremendously pete"
pete likes "baby annihilation"
when asked about the most difficult song to play live, patrick said headfirst slide wasn't really that difficult even though he expected it to be. he says a lot of songs on mania were very challenging to play live, like young and menace. pete says "what a catch, donnie" was very hard for his "little brain" to play
at the end pete shouts out the host for being fantastic since they've hung out like 3 times now and he thinks he's a great dude to hang out with. andy inexplicably follows this up with "you look like a DAMN fine cup of coffee" and doesn't elaborate but patrick thinks that's his way of saying thank you too

HELP! Let people know WE STILL EXIST!
Hey everyone, wondering if you guys can do us a favor. Youtube algorithm has screwed us over along with the fact that we haven't had many ways to promote our stuff. We neglected Equestria Daily and just informed them of the short and the fact that we've been back for a while.
But we are constantly getting comments like "I haven't seen an update from you guys in years!" despite the fact that we have been updating.
And we just saw a pony channel with 19k subs and 45 videos get a premier with over 1k viewers, meanwhile we have 44k subs and 216 videos and our premiers get up to around 50 viewers at most.
We're really trying to put out more content so the algorithm stops ignoring us but it's barely working.
So if folks could make an effort to let people know we're still here and we're close to releasing our first season finale and have a whole new season planned out and in production, it would really be appreciated! Any way you could think of like posting our videos, talking about recent episodes, letting servers and friends know we're still here...
It would really mean a lot to us to get people back.
Our YouTube channel is https://youtube.com/@ponieswithpockets
As a bonus you can let them know we have a discord fan server as well: https://discord.gg/BCVP58hdxQ
Please help us re-grow our little fanbase! We're sure a lot of people miss us and don't even realize we're not gone!

To be completely honest I have been doing some Wrestling as of late (by which I mean. since October) because despite all the joy finishing my conversion last year brought me, debilitating moral OCD and the Ongoing Situation do not mix well. Which has been really hard because it's very difficult to be like well, I'm so glad to have joined this community for real and properly just in time for it to suddenly be a source of immense difficulty for me, too. And I'm trying my best to be involved in organizing efforts and to connect with likeminded Jews but it's still been very hard.
And on top of everything having another friend starting their conversion exploration journey recently has been making me realize how strange and lonely and isolated mine was, because it was so affected by the pandemic and lockdown and I didn't get to join my classmates in doing activities outside of class or celebrate holidays with other people or even go to our shul until fairly late in my journey. And of course I had all the other hiccups, like working with three different rabbis due to circumstances out of my control. And it was so worth it and the right choice, but still deeply imperfect in ways I feel sort of melancholy about.
But this last week I'm suddenly finding my place in ways that have been missing for a bit and it feels so important. The Jewish printing symposium I attended was so amazing, and I finally set up my recurring donation to my synagogue now that I'm officially a member and seeing my name and my Hebrew name next to each other in the online portal is making me smile, and some other people from my shul that I don't know very well but would like to get to know better invited me to a second night Seder at their place later this month that I think will be really good, and I'm doing research for a paper on medieval Jewish science for my medieval history class and reading excerpts from the De'ot ha-Filosofim and Midrash ha-Ḥokhmah and Sha'ar ha-Shamayim, and I've been working on my Yiddish and listening to a lot of Yiddish folk and punk music along with it, and today I think I'm going to finally talk to the LGBT history curator about the queer Jewish archives event we're doing in May, and it feels like something important has clicked back into place, that I think is going to make me both happier & more effective at the organizing work I want to be a part of but haven't been able to engage with fully for months now.
Anyways I feel like this Pesach is going to Get me because of the timing of this all, and also I already had some really, really hard stuff happen to me last Pesach that I have mostly processed but has still had some far-reaching repercussions, so there's an element of anniversary trauma (?) meets healthy processing that I know is going to happen, too.
But it's still a good reminder of why I chose all this, and that religion & spirituality & community really are incredibly important to me, even when they're difficult (maybe even especially when there's difficulty) and also that I am tougher than I give myself credit for and not totally a victim of my own brain! Which is! An important feeling, if not necessarily an easy one.

randomly asking cuz im curious lmao but what kind of music are you into? what are your favorite artists and songs? from what i've seen you're mostly into classic rock, right? (which btw the classic rock to eene pipeline is really funny and quite fascinating but that's another story.)
Oh I'm glad you asked!!! Boy now I can go on a rant 😁
Ok, I'm one of those folks who have a hard time explaining what kind of music I listen to... classic rock was definitely my upbringing since I was a child - like the Who, Led Zep, AC/DC (I feel slightly embarassed by that nowadays, sorry AC/DC fans 😅 good memories tho).
As a teen I started going into 70s progressive rock, especially King Crimson, which I consider my favorite band ever for the simple fact I've been able to stomach pretty much everything they ever put out, even the most self-indulgent and tough to listen stuff (the "ProjeKcts"). I also fell in love with some art-pop (Peter Gabriel, David Sylvian) and generally got more adventurous and tried to slowly discover other artists (but always unabashedly behind the times haha). I went through a Bowie phase, tbf I still don't think I truly "get" Bowie lol, but one of his most interesting albums to me is Outside, probably the weirdest thing he's ever done. I also got into some electronic stuff, Tangerine Dream, Yello (two funny looking swiss guys, you might be familiar with that meme song Oh Yeah lmao). I'm also extremely familiar with Tom Waits... (I'll mention Captain Beefheart since we're at it) I've delved into jazz here and there, Pat Metheny is the first thing that comes to mind, but I'm pathetically ignorant on the genre.
The latest artist I went through a phase and now consider one of my favorites is the band Talk Talk. Their short history is mindblowing, they went from "80s one-hit-wonder pop band" to making music completely out of its time. The Color Of Spring is the best 80s-pop-album-that-doesn't-sound-80s I've ever heard, and Spirit Of Eden is... something, lmao. That album and their last one, Laughing Stock were apparently very influential on later artists in the 90s and onwards, and are now considered masterpieces despite not selling very well at the time. The enigmatic band leader Mark Hollis eventually took the genius decision to... retire (gasp) and disappear from public view for the rest of his life (I think some "artists" out there could learn a lesson from that 🤐)
John Martyn's album One World is another recent favorite, a folk rock guitarist who got kinda trippy/experimental and recorded an album by a small lake, sometimes recording the sound of the speakers in the distance... there's a beautiful track on there called Small Hours where you can even faintly hear the geese.
Finally I want to mention two historical italian artists I'm familiar with - Franco Battiato and Lucio Battisti. I've always shunned music from my country when I was younger, but I'm trying to make up for it, and those two really captivated me (although if you grew up in Italy you can't escape hearing Battisti's more famous hit songs, also apparently Bowie was a big fan, so I've read...)
All of this is just the tip of the iceberg, what came to my head right now. Btw, I wanna know what the "classic rock to eene pipeline" is haha

We're back at it folks!
Hi folks! It's been a few months since our last update and we're excited to talk about how development has been going!
Tumblr media
How did our Early Access Launch go?
Short answer: it went well! It's been a few months now so it's a bit easier to see the impact of our early access launch and it accomplished a bunch of things we needed it to do. First things first, we managed to not go broke, which is always something to be thankful for when you make video games for a living! We hit our financial targets for launch, which let us verify that our current target scope for the game wouldn't be too big to support financially, or too small to meet expectations! After putting out a couple bug fixes we were able to take a much needed rest and then most of the past couple months have been under-the-hood fixes to prep for the rest of our early access plans.
Tumblr media
We've also been monitoring how the game has been faring for folks coming across it out in the wild instead of as part of our existing community. Finally, after confirming what's been working particularly well with our gameplay and story, we have a much better sense of what we want to do with our remaining two biomes! We've got a solid plan in place of what we'll need to do to bring the game to a really satisfying conclusion, as well as what we need to add to existing parts of the game in order to support that!
Tumblr media
Controller Support!
The major feature in our most recent build is that we now have full controller support as well as controller remapping! The early access launch was a great stress test for us to help make sure we implemented controllers in the best way possible! We were able to put some of those initial early access sales towards some more controller plug-ins to help us add fixes for less common controllers faster and more reliably. We were able to get a wider variety of test controllers, and prioritized the kinds of controllers we were hearing the most issues about!
Tumblr media
Going forward, If any folks are having issues with their specific controller being detected, you should be able to use the controller remapping menu in the options menu in the short term to bypass that issue. That same menu should also show you a name for your controller, which may sometimes be different from how your controller is typically recognized. If you let us know what name is showing up in that menu, we should have a much quicker time creating a long term fix for your controller!
Development Progress
The latest build update won't have a lot of noticeable content updates since we really wanted to focus on getting controller support working right away, but a lot of the things we're working on are going to revolve around adding more variety and more to do in the existing 3 biomes, while we build out an initial release of Biome 4 behind the scenes. The update we put out after this one should include some new enemies to find in Wooden Refuge and Lotus Sea.
Tumblr media
Some other stuff we are working on over the next coming months (I've ordered these in terms of how long I think these will take, so the higher ones on the list should come sooner)
A new gift giver character
more story events for the 2nd and 3rd acts of the game
Some new Narakan Loom abilities
Adding more things to do in the Temple District and Sakurafest hub areas
Tumblr media
Biome 4 (Qilin Peaks) is in active development, it will probably be a while before it's playable though! Looking at our remaining task list, it looks like about another year's worth of development before we're close to a version 1.0 of the game. There's going to be a LOT of content between then and now though so If anyone is waiting for a particular feature or point in development before they jump in and play, let us know and we can send y'all a reminder once we have those elements in game!
Tumblr media
Hope y'all are excited for what we're working on! Thank you so much for all your support so far! Every wishlist, purchase, review and even just sharing these posts helps us out so much!
And if you haven't yet please consider checking out Midautumn and playing our FREE demo!

The Velvet Dark: The Short Trip Where the Master Does Some Stuff
Okay, there are probably enough Short Trips featuring the Master for the title to not make sense. This is just another Weird Doctor Who Thing I want to do a breakdown of. Honestly, as far as Weird Doctor Who Things go, this one's only slightly weirder than what you'd see on television. But Turlough's in it and he suffers, so let's take a look:
Tumblr media
So we start of with Vislor being spelled wrong. I'm pretty sure this isn't the only short trip that does this.
So, we're on Earth, probably in England, and probably in the late 20th or early 21st century, but the details don't really matter. The Doctor is there to attend the Master's funeral, since he apparently died of natural causes in an ordinary Earth old folks' home. The Doctor is genuinely mourning his old friend while Tegan and Turlough try really hard to be nice about it. We start in Tegan's PoV and she misses Nyssa. Also Turlough has a big fur coat for cool rainy funerals now.
Tumblr media
After the funeral, the Team goes to where the Master apparently spent his final days to collect his stuff and see if he left any interesting traps for them before he died. Tegan still doesn't trust Turlough, nor does she like that the Doctor seems to listen to him more than he listens to her.
Tumblr media
They find nothing interesting, the Doctor sulks for a bit, and Tegan loses patience with the whole thing and decides to go get a cup of tea. She offers to get some for the others.
Tumblr media
Tegan stumbles upon the plot when a nurse looking for a missing old lady has found a tiny doll of the lady in her bed that looks a bit too realistic. Tegan knows what's up here and begins her investigation.
Meanwhile, the Doctor and Turlough have lunch. Turlough has no idea why the Doctor wants to eat cafeteria food.
Tumblr media
This is kind of a reverse of a bit in Kinda where the Doctor and Adric get some food, but Adric is still hungry after he finishes his and the Doctor gives him the rest of his own food. He's a growing boy. Turlough is just miserable.
The Doctor, who isn't actually an idiot, is still trying to figure out what happened to the Master and he decides to ask the elderly.
Tumblr media
Did Turlough not know his grandparents or are old people built different on Trion?
An old man talks to them for a little bit about how the recently dead guy mostly kept to himself but he doesn't want to miss the next show on TV. The Doctor and Turlough banter over this for a bit.
Tumblr media
Yeah, this place is supposed run by a Mr. Tase, which might just be the laziest silly anagram the Master's ever used.
Meanwhile, Tegan and her nurse friend have gone to the boiler room to find that a lot of dolls that look a bit too similar to the patients here are people burned. The Master confronts them. He's burned too. He's still the Ainley Master in theory but he looks like he did before he stole Nyssa's dad's body for reasons that will be explained later.
While going to confront "Mr Tase", the Doctor and Turlough suddenly remember that Tegan exists and find out that she might be in trouble.
Tumblr media
So Turlough goes down to the boiler room, finds Tegan, and they're both captured.
The Doctor meets with Mr. Tase and immediately calls him out on being the Master. The Master doesn't want to kill him this time (as if he ever genuinely does). He just needs the Doctor's help with a thing and he knows that the Doctor will refuse to do the thing, so he got the companions captured to ensure his cooperation.
However cooperative the Doctor might be in this situation, Tegan is not. This causes a bit of a kerfuffle.
Tumblr media
The nursing home was the Master's TARDIS btw. He materialized his TARDIS around the nursing home and absorbed it. Or something. None of the things the Master does make sense.
Anyway, the TCE (shrinky death ray thing) was fired. What was that about? They wait a bit before telling you.
Tumblr media
So, the TCE has a shrink ray version of a stun setting where it shrinks you but doesn't kill you. The Master just never uses it. Except now, mostly just to fuck with the Doctor. Also, instead of shrinking Tegan, who was actively causing trouble for him, the Master shrunk Turlough. The whole "surrendering and standing still" thing made him an easier target and the Master is a dick.
Tegan feels pretty bad about the whole thing and the Adric flashbacks it gave the Doctor.
Tumblr media
Then, things get complicated, because it's the Master. Apparently, the Time Lords sort of half-exiled/half-executed him, taking away his stolen body, but his life force hung around by sheer force of will and he's actually been an invisible being in a castle this entire time. The burnt Master is his Watcher, who he's been acting through. He wants to do a thing with some mirrors to steal one of the Doctor's regenerations. I really can't explain it any better than that.
The Master continues to fuck with the Doctor by hypnotizing Tegan and we get...this:
Tumblr media
Yeah. That.
Anyway, hypnotized Tegan is commanded to kill the Doctor and the Doctor is unable to fight back in any way without causing permanent damage to Turlough via the Master shaking him around inside a snuffbox, beating him up.
So, the Doctor screams and breaks all the magic mirrors because he can just do that now. I think the Fourth Doctor might've done something like this once, but it's still a bit anti-climactic here.
We just sort of cut to the Team all restored to normal trying to decide what to do with the Master.
Tumblr media
This wrap-up conversation gives off this vibe that the Doctor just can't understand why Tegan and Turlough are so upset here. But it might just be a side-effect of this story about the Doctor still having some emotional attachment to the Master despite everything being in a hurry to end.
Or maybe the narrator doesn't get it:
Tumblr media
I'm pretty sure anyone would be upset after being shrunk and kept in a snuffbox and might not have a whole lot of patience for someone protecting the person responsible.
Still, in the end, the Doctor sort of tries to humor him a bit...
Tumblr media
How their complete trust was restored is unclear. They just decide to stop disagreeing with him for Reasons.
So, an interesting story, the a bit of a dumb one. I'm not gonna complain about not being able to follow the Master's plan because all of his plans are like that.
Ultimately, I think the biggest problem with this one is that the 5 isn't the Doctor you want for this story. We're exploring the Doctor's relationship with the Master. No matter how many times he tries to, and no matter what he says, the Master can't kill the Doctor because he likes him too much. At the same time, no matter how many terrible things he does, no matter how personal, no matter the scale, the Doctor can never defeat the Master completely, because he likes him too much.
The problem is that 5, though it was still a bit of a thing with him, isn't as friendly with the Master as most other incarnations. 3 treated the Master's antics like a game, but when 5 comes along, the Master destroys a quarter of the universe and traumatizes all of his companions in rapid succession. It's not fun anymore. The Master still thinks of it as a game, but the Doctor's no longer amused. This all resets later on, especially after the Time War, but for 5, that's our trajectory.
Think about how things between 5 and the Master end in Planet of Fire. The Master has pushed the Doctor so far that he can stand there and watch him burn alive. One of the things that sets 5 off is Kamelion's death. The Doctor had to kill Kamelion because the Master kept fucking with him. If Kamelion were an actual character, this moment might have the emotional weight it needed. The Master spends 5's run harming his companions. This is what really changed things. During 3's era, the Master developed a respect for Jo, the only TARDIS-traveling companion he had a chance to interact with. She almost became an extension of the Doctor. The Delgado Master, outside of a bit of hypnosis, doesn't harm the Doctor's companions. The Ainley Master does. 5's first story has the Master spend most of it torturing Adric. So, the entire dynamic of 5 and the Master is 5 losing his compassion for the Master because he hurt his companions.
This is a story for a later Doctor with some distance from these events. That's the serious problem. But the story is very silly, so serious problems aren't that big a deal, really.

Baby, Baby
Tumblr media
Genre: angst, Fluff, 16+
Warnings: Jimin begging for a baby. Mentions of rape stuff. Virgin!Reader. Reader is waiting until marriage. Jimin having baby fever. This doesn't go how you think it does, folks..
Summary: After returning from your mission trip, you and Jimin finally settle back down into his apartment. What you hadn't known, is that he was wanting to add a certain something to this relationship.
A/n: had this idea. Thought about it. Wanted to write it. Don't think about the logic of it, k? This is just fiction anyways.
..
Your butt sat on the edge of the couch, hand reaching atop Jimin's as you continue. "Jimin.. I just don't think our lives could handle a baby right now."
His head lowers, hand squeezing yours in return. "But- I'm really good with kids, Y/n! And we're not struggling financially and we just got back from the mission trip I think-"
You cut him off. "Jimin, I told you were going to wait until marriage to have sex." He shakes his head.
"Yes, you said sex. But this wouldn't be sex. It would be a baby." You chuckle, rolling your eyes back playfully.
"Where do you think babies come from!"
A smirk tugs his lips, teasing you. "By the stork, of course."
Your body falls back into the couch, snuggling up with it's comforting hug. Jimin joins you, pulling himself between your legs as he's faced down on his stomach. Chin resting on your belly for comfort. You'd been quite close for stuff like this, even I'd you hadn't had sex yet.
Youd decided a long time ago that abstinence had been the best birth control. The idea of having a baby the size of a grapefruit and bigger, pushed out and through your vagina had your legs clenching in fear. Not only that - you were terrified of throwing up. No, really. You hated it. Cried ever since you were little. You did everything you could to not have to throw up. So morning sickness? You don't take your chances.
You and jimin had been together for almost three years. You knew almost everything about one another, and then some. You'd grown so close, that you barely needed to speak sometimes. Just sharing an intense bond that no one else had. Like dancing gracefully to your favorite slow song, you and him were one.
Your hand comes down to tug gently at his recently dyed roots, a smile pressing your lips. His eyes drooped, pain fully expressed while his lips curled into a small pout.
"They have ways that you don't have to ever have sex, baby. Hell, i could just give you my sperm and- you know, there are lots of AMRYs that would gladly have my babies!"
That's it.
You stand up, arms flailing in the air. "Oh. They do?? Well why don't you just go and knock them up, huh! Fuck you and your baby fever, Jimin!"
His hand reaches out before you're able to walk away, pulling you back into his arms.
"No.. Y/n I'm so sorry I don't- I don't know what I was thinking.. please, sweetheart. I only want babies with you." His lips find the sweet spot along your neck, making you shudder. Pushing him away, you stand back up.
"Jimin, that's enough. No baby, and that's final."
..
ah, mother nature. A great sign that you had indeed escaped another month of a possible new family member. Well, not that it would've happened anyways. Jimin had backed off the subject over these few weeks. It made you feel a little bad for being so harsh with him. But he's not the one who'd be doing the birthing, the puking, the carrying, everything basically.
"Hey, Jimin could you bring me a tampon?" Hid body lightly stands, arms reaching up to pop his back before walking to the bathroom.
"Where are they?"
You shuffle around, pulling the soaked panties down your legs to kick them off. "I bought a new pack. They should be on the kitchen counter!"
He nods, walking into the kitchen for a few seconds. After some minutes pass by, he exclaims. "Found them!"
Shouldnt have taken him that lon-
"Ah, thank you-" he hands you one tampon.
Not just one tapon, no no.
One that was already opened.
Your eyebrow raises. "Jimin, did you open this?"
He nods, humming. "Mhm. I thought it'd be easier."
Something felt off about this.
Your hand slowly reaches out towards the little stick, taking it by the plastic peice. Then, you see it. A small drop of white substance blended with the tip. If you hadn't had your contacts in, you sure would've missed it. Your hand releases it quickly, as it drops to the floor.
"Jimin- did you CUM on my tampon!?"
..
How. How. The HELL.
You both sat on the beds edge. A silence prowling the room slowly, consuming every little sound until there had been nothing but an empty void of discussions you didn't want to have.
Tour bodies sat a foot apart from one another, both teetering on the edge. His knee bounces rapidly, as you try and contemplate what just happened.
He came on your tampon. He tried to get your pregnant, without your consent. HE CAME ON YOUR TAMPO-
"Y/n.." His voice had been just a bit higher in volume than a little door mouse. Shoulders slouched, as a frame of guilt trails his features. His hand reaches over to yours, but you pull away.
You couldn't think right now. You couldn't believe what he tried to do. What else had he done???
Your mind swarms with ever scenario he had been in with you. Handing you a pair of underwear after showering. Wearing HIS boxer briefs for comfort. Had he cum in those too?? What else had be been hiding from you?
"Y/n.. I'm sorry.."
Your head cranes, an ironic chuckle rolling past your lips. You didn't know how to feel. Angry? Scared? Horny?-
Wait.. where'd horny come from?
"W..Why would you do that, Jimin? When you know I told you specifically-"
"I know, I know.. it's just- maybe if you had no other choice-"
You stand abruptly. "No other choice?! Sounds awfully rape-y of you, Jimin." Your arms cross your chest, huffing in annoyance.
Jimin looks up, as you see stained tears fall down his cheeks. You immidiently bend at the knees, coming to cup both sides of his face. Voice a lot softer and nurturing. His hand tries to grab yours in comfort.
"I-I don't know why I did it, Y/n.. I just saw you with all those kids an-and.."
He couldn't even finish his sentence. His chest felt tight and sore, his throat dry, as he sniffs. Your arms come to wrap around his shoulders, sitting in his lap gently. Holding him as you sway the two of your side to side.
"Baby, it's okay.. I forgive you, Jimin. But please-"
His head looks up to meet your eyes. A somber twang pains your heart, as you say the words.
"Next time, repsect my decision. Please."

I dont even think the tag is dead at all tbh. We were really spoiled last summer with 2k post per day, and something crazy happening everyday like Mikhailgate, scriptgate, sock anon or people impersonating Ross duffer, but if you check most tags on this app, that's rarely the case. The thing is, it's been a year since season 4 came out and we're still getting around 300 posts per day and I need people to realise how crazy that is. Before season 4 the tag had like 5 k followers and there could be days without a single post. The fact that it's been a year and we still surpass 200 posts, AND we've already made it through the most content drought phase of the hiatus (since filming is about to begin and we'll increase the daily posts again) is crazy. This tag is still very much active, even for a show that hasn't released any new content for a year. And also AO3 is still active. The fact that for a whole year, there's been writers who still update fics or create new ones everyday is something I'm not used to coming from other smaller fandoms.
I get it's a bit more boring right now and we are looking back to the may-august craze, but we've already made it through the worst and we only need to hold on for one more month
This is definitely the best way to look at it!
I think I’m also maybe sad bc a lot of familiar faces aren’t as active, like some folks I remember seeing daily are gone. Which is fine!
And even despite that you’ll see posts in the tag get like hundreds of likes, so there are definitely a lot of people still lurking just not posting. Which is also fine!
It’s so true though that we are a lot more active than we realize.
Tumblr in general I used to think of as like a no man’s land pre-s4 bc it tends to really only be active in specific fandoms where like the unity is on point bc the content is just rolling in.
So many fandoms reside here at a point, but dwindle over time, and I feel like we are very fortunate to have made a big space here bc it is a cool platform when you have a lot of people that like a certain thing and want to talk about it.
And we’re fortunate enough to be so massive and not only that but this is sort of just the beginning. Imagine how many followers we’ll gain leading up to s5, during and after…? Or the aftermath of people coming here to look at theories and be like YOU GUYS WERE RIGHT! All the queer fans who kind of talked down on us (understandably) for potentially falling for queerbait, joining in and being like wow this is surreal, it finally happened. It’s going to be magical.
For now I guess it just makes me wonder if I should take a break too?? Like seeing yourself over and over in the tag is almost a wake up call that I should step back like everyone else is for the time being? Bc like idk if it’s maybe annoying to see the same person over and over? Or if it’s just the reminder of how inactive things are and that’s what makes people step back too?
Not even a bad thing necessarily like you said, bc this is still an unprecedented case of a fandom being quite active despite the circumstances.
Honestly though, even if there isn’t much news going into May and in the couple months after it, beyond like the bare minimum of what we’re expecting, I’ll try to embrace it and maybe step back or even focus on more detailed posts instead of the day to day fodder.
I also hate myself for this, but I rarely go in the top posts tag??? I’m always like living in the recent posts part of it and that’s probably also the problem 😭
So reminder to anyone that’s like me who does the same, we gotta support more of us that have top posts too bc I will literally remember the top posts exists, go there, find absolute gems (obviously it’s top posts???) and then be like why the fuck don’t I come here more often??? That’s another way I could probably curb my disappointment about us not being as active as I’m used to. And it’s super simple.
There’s a lot of stuff like that I could do better at to contribute to the solution of this being a better experience for myself and other still active on here!
Thanks for the pep talk anón 😇🙏

I'm the anon that asked about the backstory before and I can't believe the mafia thing is in the main section if the wikia page like it is canon, but it's like, the only one in there. I knew it wasn't canon because I saw it mentioned before but people really act like it's some well established thing and not something from an ad. I guess it's only good for pictures at this point. x.x
real talk if I didn't have a full-time job, I'd try to be diligent about keeping the wiki clean. it's been eight years since the circumcision incident. it's time for old guard to come back -- especially RE old guard, since we have so, so many new members of the fandom.
but I just don't have the time, man -- and, probably, neither does anyone else. because we're all in our 30s and 40s now and just can't dedicate ourselves to that kind of stuff anymore.
and that just sucks. it sucks for you new folks so fucking bad. it's not fair to you, and you all deserve a better fandom experience.
all I can do is keep screaming into the tumblr void and keep hoping that I can start attracting eyeballs to this blog somehow.
I want you guys to be able to enjoy RE in a way that my generation never got a chance to. we were always arguing over canon back in the day, because so little of it was clear, and new shit was coming out all the time, and it was so hard to keep up.
RE isn't that series anymore. we get a new game every few years and maybe a CGI movie and that's it. it's so easy to keep track of the canon these days, and it really is such a fucking bummer that there's people in the fandom actively trying to make it harder for you.
it's a very easy formula these days to understand this canon:
numbered game entries are the most canon. numbered game entries will always have the final say. period.
spinoff games starring the recurring cast* (Revelations, Code Veronica, etc) are the second highest tier canon.
CGI movies starring the main cast are the third highest tier canon.
spinoff games not starring the main cast (Outbreak, Dead Aim, etc) are the fourth highest tier canon.
anything else should be ignored.
*spinoff games that have a story, that is. things like The Mercenaries 3D and RE:Verse clearly don't count and are there for fun gameplay purposes only.
in an instance where things on the same tier contradict each other, the most recent installment wins out.
so, Sherry's age in RE2 is 10 because RE6 said so -- even though OG RE2's manual had her age listed as 12. her age of 10 years was then also reaffirmed in RE2make. so she was 10.
and Gaiden's not canon, despite it starring Leon and Barry, because RE4, RE6, and Revelations 2 do not acknowledge it as such.
it is very easy to follow this canon if you follow that recipe. please don't let bad faith actors lead you astray.
and please send people over here, if you can. despite the fact that I spent like 16 hours today raging out over the whole Adam Benford thing, I will still always be open for questions if anyone isn't sure if a thing they heard about is actually a thing or not. I will always cite my sources and explain why a thing is or is not canon if I need to, and I will even provide screencaps if I can. the wiki will not do this. because the wiki is being written by assholes.
also don't forget that I have an essential canon list already typed up and ready to be handed out. please use it as a resource. please.

Chapter 9 and 10
Heyo folks taking a @journeythroughjourneytothewest
Had to take a break from book club last week, burn out was very bad. But I've had a week to relax, celebrated my birthday and slept most of the day lol. Let's get back into Journey to the West
First: Chapter 9.
We finally meet our Monk and learn the story of his family!
We don't spend a lot of time learning about them (minus his Dad, gets a thumbs up from me. Kind to all and easy going enough to be like "I got hit by a ball-- oh I'm married now? Okay cool". Like talk about a shotgun wedding), but we do see little bits that remind me of our Monk. He does share his kindness with his Dad, and I genuinely think his anxiety is from his mom. I'll talk about her in a minute because she is a whole other thing.
My one question is... wouldn't other officials notice that Liu Hong, essentially becoming Chen E, had no idea what he was doing??? He went on business trips, did no one recognize he wasn't who he said he was????? I mean you would think anyone who took the exams with him who got positions would be like "uh... that's not him tf??". Or they just did not care. Who knows at this point. Apparently he had Six Eared Macaque level disguise skill, rolled a nat 20 in bullshitery.
Now. Lady Yin. The poor lady went through hell for over 18 years. She had to watch her husband get murdered, had to abandon her baby, and had to play wife to a murderer. Even when her husband came back... I'm not surprised she still ended up passing. That's a lot of guilt (and I'm sure Liu Hong was not kind to her) on her mind for a LONG period of time, nearly two decades. I wish there was a happy ending for the family but I get why it ended how it did, knowing what depression and anxiety can do to people.
Now our baby Monk. Our Xuanzang. I am so proud of him for being as brave as he was. This recently turned 18 year old did everything he could to help his family. Licking his grandma's eyeballs was...a choice. But it was for a good cause so good on him. I can see why he was a good choice as the Scroll Pilgrim.
And as promised, a sketch of Xuanzang
Tumblr media
And as a bonus baby Monk with a doggo
Tumblr media
But now we move to Chapter 10.
...I legit got annoyed going thru the debate between the fisherman and woodman. Like it went on far longer than it should have. I'm sure there was a profound moment that we're supposed to glean from it but I just wasn't receptive to it. Maybe I'll read it again.
Anyway.
I have been doing some looking into of Chinese historical heroes (I desperately want to read Romance of the three kingdoms, and I need more reading material about folk heroes and heroines) so seeing some references to the stuff I learned made me happy. There was mention of Liu Bei and Zhuge Liang and the painting of The Emporer's Generals on the doors (supposedly the Tang dynasty is where this practice was first used. A few three kingdom folks also get this treatment as door gods, or menshen, along with other important heroes and deities. Makes me wonder if the Emperor essentially deified his Generals and Wei Zheng. How does Heaven handle that?)
Fun fact! In my jttw x mythology story Wukong will work with Asena, mythical wolf mother of the Ashina Clan of Gokturks. Guess which dynasty of China had to deal with them a lot? :)
Anyway.
I've also come to the conclusion that Dragons just like to fuck around and find out. Like, the Dragon King just goes against heaven's orders to spite a very accurate fortune teller, does not even THINK of the consequences, and is surprised Pikachu face when he gets in trouble. Also not sure why he thought appealing to an earthly emporer would save him from THE SUPREME DAOIST DEITY'S JUDGMENT. Like, y'all, I'm beginning to think dragons just don't give a crap or just don't think. Got what he deserved for being dumb. Did the emporer make promises he shouldn't have? No doubt, you don't promise supernatural beings anything because it will make you want to die if they catch wind of you breaking promises, regardless of nationality. Did he deserve what he got? .... I mean historically probably but in the sense of this story, no.
I find the Tang dynasty interesting (because it gave us a certain Empress and had some fun female warriors, like Taizong's sister, who helped her father found the dynasty) and I can definitely thank jttw for getting my attention about it.
I think that's all I have as far as thoughts. And I apologize if my rambles just jumped around too much lol.
Over and out ✌️

OK. actually officially trying to slowly come back to my Tumblr now! I'll likely be cleaning out a bunch of stuff in the next few days, and hope to start posting more regularly again!
some updates:
-i'm attempting to learn how to tap dance
-i just started ritalin a few days ago at the suggestion of my psych and woww I can't believe everyone else has refused to prescribe a stimulant until now! my pain is actually pretty manageable and I already feel a bit more even-keeled
-i initiated getting back in touch with the only cis man (and probably sweetest person) I've been with (we've both tried to meet up again over the years to no avail); we're trying to find time to hang out soon under the guise of likely a concert or parafencing lesson
-i finally had the appointment with my geneticist I waited nearly a year for, and he 100% believes I have a connective tissue disorder. i'm battling insurance to cover the DNA testing he ordered though, so I still don't have an official diagnosis
-i got a reasonable chunk of money deposited recently from a covid relief grant for individuals in the arts!
-i'm trying to get in contact with the local commission on disability to actually make concrete steps towards fixing the myriad of accessibility issues I've encountered around my town and am unfortunately only just noticing as a part time wheelchair user
-I saw TWO different broadway musicals (Chicago and Some Like it Hot) in the past couple months (payed for by my estranged and disgusting dead grandfather's will money. the only good thing anyone got from him)
-i'm so much stronger and better in my wheelchair now that I have power assisted wheels-this shit is amazing (I've already ridden 40 miles in total with them)
-i'm auditioning for a play for this season with the triple bonus features that it's right in town, about queer shit, and had an audition form that asked me about my access needs and (then casting folks who informed me) how they could meet them
-i'm in the process of trying to get SSDI so I can actually have closer to enough income every month to support myself independently and move out of my parents' house
-my testosterone is extremely high and yet after 6 years I don't look extremely masculine: a medical mystery. I inject .30ml IM once a week, which should put me at the lower end of the average cis guy range, but apparently my levels are markedly higher than that (the high cis t level of 1,070ng/dl vs. my recent level of 1,3011)

20 Questions for Fic Writers
Was tagged by @quordleona03, thank you! It still blows my mind we're talking, haha.
I'd like to see this spread to the B7 folk, so if you've written for B7, even if you haven't in a while, consider yourself tagged!
How many works do you have on AO3?
227 - though as ever I need to remind people that this is not the total of my fics and certainly not the total of my fanworks (I have none of my art on AO3).
2. What's your total AO3 word count?
985.865 (I always have to do math here because I'm "co-author" on a fic I did the art for. So this is my *actual* words on AO3, not what AO3 says.)
CUT because oops it got long.
3. What fandoms do you write for?
At the moment, Blake's 7 only, unless you count Drake's Venture, but then again I have no active projects on that.
4. What are your top five fics by kudos?
This is in no way representative because my most kudos-ed fic will probably always be said "I did the art" fic that doesn't count, and my fandoms are vastly disparate in size, so my older SPN stuff is automatically up there. But anyway - Destinies Entwined (SPN), The Kindness of Strangers (SPN), There is no sin except stupidity (Canon Holmes - this one actually crept up there! I archived it, backdating, but people seem to have found and loved it!), Fields of Gold (SPN), and finally, With Every Single Word (B7) - and with the exact same amount of kudos, Bitter Days, and Sweet (B7).
5. Do you respond to comments?
Absolutely! Sometimes it takes me a while, but yes.
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
*filters works by MCD warning*... I mean I've written a lot of bleak things, but not every MCD thing is necessarily bleak - on the other hand, I am probably forgetting some angsty ones that have no MCD. Most recently, or most in my memory, are a few of the Whumptobers, which always seem to bring out the darkness: Impending Destiny is up there, as is Bitter Almonds, Death's Kiss, perhaps, though that has some measure of catharsis, A Grave Man, Poisoned Apples. Then there's Earth, Earth Sector, Greyscale... Whatever you consider angstiest, it's probably a B7 fic. If you'd asked me to pick one, it'd probably be Impending Destiny because it hurt me to write and I feel it's underappreciated.
7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
I'm in a similar boat as Quordle - these universes are angsty. Most of SPN ones are just... kind of even, all things considered, nothing to happy and nothing too sad, same with the Holmes stories, as they are all set somewhere in the middle and I can't give an Ending if there is more canon to go (and I rarely write AUs). But when it comes to B7, I've written some incredibly sappy stuff that doesn't really have "happy endings" because it's a fluff one-shot in the first place. Longfic with the happiest ending is probably Bitter Days, and Sweet, if only because it's a happy ending PGP. I do tend to prefer bittersweet endings to "fix everything" endings though.
8. Do you get hate on fics?
I've got some... strange comments, but no outright hate, no, not on fic. But I also enable comment moderation on anything that might attract things, as a precaution. It hasn't been necessary, but perhaps people don't bother if they feel they might get moderated anyway. This is not an invitation to start sending me hate!
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
Not really. Being ace probably has something to do with that... I've found myself writing some intimacy, non-sexual or bordering on sexual kink or "draw the curtain" sex scenes lately, but I don't really get anything out of sex in fic for smutty reasons (and for a long time disliked pairing fic because it seemed so focussed on sex). I could see myself writing something more explicit if it served a plot point, but mostly I don't feel explicit detail is necessary for character development/plot progression. Intimacy, yes. But who cares who sticks what where and where the body fluids go?
10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?
Yes, though I wouldn't say I do it *often* - I am generally more keen on conceptual mashups (what if B7 characters were in Victorian London) than pure crossover (what if B7 characters met Holmes characters), because I tend to be interested in single fandoms at a time rather than more at once. That said, I have done them. The most out there is probably my Doctor Who / Pirates of the Caribbean crossover, Dancing Star. I vaguely recall it being for a longfic challenge, but don't remember which. I'm still fond of that one and it's not even on AO3 (yet).
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not that I know of. (Don't do this.)
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
I have been asked, and I think I had a Holmes fic translated once back in the LJ days? I'm not generally against translation if it's with my explicit consent, but there are some fics where I don't feel comfortable with it, often long or very personal work or stuff that I'm still working with. It helps if I already know the translator before they come to me with translation requests.
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
I have made attempts, yes - some never worked out, some are yet to be published, others were collabs more in the sense of "let me add a sequel to your thing" rather than true co-writing. I have done a few fic/art collabs, on either side of the line, but I don't think there's anything currently on AO3 that has been co-written, unless you count my meta with @comarum.
14. What’s your all time favorite ship?
I am not going to make a claim on an "all time" favourite, particularly as I still feel I only found my niche with shipping fairly recently, and there are a few... fan-favourite pairings that I never really shipped but where I'm now wondering whether I would have jumped in more readily if I had been aware that this niche existed. Also is it still a ship if the pairing is canon, or is that just enjoying the original work?
My most long-standing active ship at this point is Avon/Vila, however.
15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
When someone says "doubt you ever will", I always immediately think of a project or two where I get defensive about the idea that I will never ever, even though I haven't touched them in decades. They are in long-term hibernation, but I balk at the idea of them being abandoned. That said, I have a good number of Red Dwarf fics that I'll probably never polish up. Dimensions was important to me, but this is where it'll probably end. Something about that fandom doesn't work for me.
16. What are your writing strengths?
I like to think: characters, dialogue, angst and long-form fics, though of course the short things will always outnumber the long ones because they take so long to write!
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
Finding endings for fics that are supposed to be short. Writing characters that aren't neurodivergent. Writing characters/relationships that aren't ace, though I feel I've been getting better with that. Anything that demands I actually pay attention to the characters' gender. Homonyms.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
Depends on the extensiveness. If characters are always speaking a different language, sprinkling single lines in that actual language is weird and having the entire dialogue in a language that isn't the fic's is tedious, but if a few lines of dialogue are in a different language, sure. I feel the same way about strong accents.
Besides, I'd argue that characters in my current fandom aren't speaking English (the language I write in) in the first place, but a future common tongue I call Standard, so unless I want to invent a conlang, I'm not using their actual language anyway. On the other hand, rendering other languages in English can ignore some special characteristics of that language - something I specifically think about when I write about SIGN (my concept of sign language in the B7 universe). In general, I tend to emphasise readability over accuracy.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
Depends on what counts. The first things I called fic were for SGA. Never published. The first published stuff was Canon Holmes.
20. Favorite fic you’ve written?
This changes constantly, and I also feel like I keep developing as a writer, so there are things I was very happy with at the time that I would not write that way now. They still were a favourite once - and in the same vein, if I didn't feel any of my recent stuff were favourites, I'd be doing something wrong with the craft. Consequently, right now I am very fond of Impending Destiny and my current longfic project.

20 Questions for Fic Writers!
Stealing a neat post from @sweepseven and we'll see how far we get haha. I haven't posted all of my stuff to AO3 so I'll kinda be pulling from a few places
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
Only 6! And half of them are from July till now lmao (aka the moment I learned about Steve Burnside)
2. What’s your total AO3 word count?
49,691
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Gosh if I kept consistent fandoms it would make my fandom experience so much more easier :') Started out with Gundam, though haven't really kept up post my move away from FFNet (really want to come back at some point tho). Code Geass and TKoE is my long-running baby. Currently swept up in a Resident Evil fever too (see previous question). I've also written some stuff for League of Legends, Persona 2, and Fire Emblem!
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
Ravaged Blessings (Fire Emblem: Three Houses, T. Wrote this during the rising peak of FE3H's release. Started out with Blue Lions and whoa nelly I was not prepared for Dimitri's post-timeskip scene.)
Two Kinds of Eternity (Code Geass, M. The behemoth. I had this idea in my head for ages and once I joined AO3 in 2018, decided to finally give it a shot. It's been five years and we're only halfway there, but I'm glad folks have hopped on and off for the ride)
An Eternal Warpath For You And Me (Resident Evil, M. Most recent fic of mine that I'm thankful has gotten a lot of kind reception! Aka Chreon + me fitting Steve into the Resident Evil-verse as best I can haha)
Shuriman Nights (League of Legends, T. Bit of a kudos drop from this point forward, but I love all my works the same, so :) I will never be over Nasus and Renekton's lore.)
Once (That Was Enough) (Resident Evil, M. EVERYTIME I WATCH THE DARKSIDE CHRONICLES CUTSCENES I HAVE TO COME BACK AND RE-READ THIS ONE. The genesis of my sprawling RE AU)
With 6 fics, that leaves We'll Always Have Casablanca out of the standings! Turns out that fic was the first anyone used the Leon & Steve tag. Pure self-indulgence so I understand why it's the lowest haha
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
I try to answer all of them! I have moments in life when I feel way too anxious about what to write back (like am I clogging up my own comments section? will they think it's weird if I write more than their initial comment?), but I work really hard to recognize the people who leave nice notes on my fics.
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
I'm a sucker for happy endings (everything else in the story is fair game tho) so I hardly ever end something too angsty... I guess Shuriman Nights for its implications?
7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Once (That Was Enough). Capcom, I reject your reality and substitute my own.
8. Do you get hate on fics?
I had a few small cases, but it's not frequent at all. I try to mind my own business and let folks be ^^
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
As someone who's like 90% sure they're ace/sex-repulsed, I don't. It narrows my scope of reading fanfic too unfortunately - some of the best written works I've seen are rated E, but I have to kinda "hold my breath" while reading them :(
10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?
I never posted it anywhere, but I had a sprawling DCMK/Gundam crossover I shared with a close friend of mine. Still re-read parts of it from time to time. (Silver Bullet Shinichi, anyone?)
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not to my knowledge! I write so slowly that they probably wouldn't be able to steal it.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Nope but it would be a blessing if anyone ever asked!
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Again not posted, but I used to do a ton of co-writing with that same close friend mentioned above. Good times.
14. What’s your all time favourite ship?
Ooh this one's a tough one. If I have to choose, it's Kamille Bidan/Fa Yuiry from Zeta Gundam. It's what really started my fanfic journey, and I'll never forget the pure elation I felt watching their beach ending in Gundam ZZ. Wonder how I'd write something for them in the present? It's been so long...
15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
If I thought about my deepest fears it would be TKoE, but I refuse. I will finish that fic. For a more realistic answer, I have a lot of mini-scenes for my Claire/Steve RE AU that I want to string into a full fic at some point, but I already have so many things on my plate.
16. What are your writing strengths?
Hmm. I like to think that in my writing peaks, I have a good sense of capturing character voices and dialogue. I'm also good at coming up with like, "angsty" one-liners, if that makes sense?
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
Gosh this one's much easier than the last one. My posting rate is abysmal for starters (sorry to all the TKoE readers). I feel like every other sentence I write is clunky and long. Like on re-reads I can usually shave a few adjectives and words off of every sentence. I get impatient about pacing when I'm actually writing, but my actual writing sessions are few and far between. Tough times man :(
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
Different strokes for different folks, but I'm always afraid that a reader will get whiplash if I write in a language that I'm not comfortable with. Like sometimes I'll read fics where they reference Korean and it ruins my focus a bit when I read something that's not grammatically correct/realistic. Nothing to drop a fic over, but I'm not confident enough to write in another language myself.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
I don't remember off the top of my head. The first one I posted online was for Zeta Gundam, but also I think I have a small A Separate Peace story from around that time? Lol if I go back to my childhood original works, those stories were essentially Guardians of Ga'Hoole and Bionicle fanfics too.
20. Favourite fic you’ve written?
Once (That Was Enough) takes the cake right now. I remember looking on TVTropes for... Tragic Monster examples I believe?... and found a quick summary of Steve Burnside. Oh dear, that lad has me in his clutches and won't let me go. I had to write a story where he survives, and well... the rest is history. I even have a tag dedicated to the AU the fic spawned! Well, that was a ton of fun! If anyone reads this and wants to do it themselves, feel free to! Hoping to get more stuff out soon :)

So. It's Been A While.
That last update was a bit prophetic, wasn't it.
Uhm, I guess I should give a sort of summary of the last... Two? Three years? For people that are still lingering.
I'll put the bulk of it under a read more, but TL;DR- Parks Department job has panned out really well, had to move out a second time due to Stuff, Dad had a second stroke and passed away from complications, my mom's dog passed away from a malignant tumor, and I'm currently doing a lot of juggling to help Mom and myself try to survive.
Could be better. Could be a lot worse.
For folks that want some more details, well-
I'll get the rough stuff out of the way first.
My dad died. It'll be two years this October. He had a second stroke, and went from slow but steady improvement to a rapid decline that ended with Mom and I mutually agreeing that his quality of life had degraded so badly it was basically torture forcing him to stay alive. He wasn't quite a vegetable at the end, but it was close. He couldn't talk. He couldn't articulate his needs. He couldn't take care of himself in any fashion.
I sat and waited in his hospice room, and saw when the final breath left his body. There is no possible means to describe the Certainty, and the Relief. Knowing he was gone, and that he was no longer suffering.
Neither Mom or I have really had the space to fully process it. His ashes have yet to be scattered, and we haven't be able to coordinate a wake for the extended family. I don't know if we'll ever have one at this rate, but we want to give him a send off for everyone to properly say their good byes.
Less than two months after Dad passed, Mom called me crying. Tali, our family dog for the last 16 years, hadn't been feeling very well for a while, and gave Mom a couple bad scares before she finally had to be rushed to an emergency vet. They found out that Tali had been developing a tumor, and while it wasn't metastasized or actively malignant, it had begun to interrupt body functions and after a sudden seizure, had caused internal bleeding so bad they weren't sure she would survive being sedated let alone surgical intervention.
We decided it would do her a disservice to force her through such an invasive procedure, with no guarantee of recovery, let alone good health.
Mom and I both held her as the doctors gave her a fatal dosage of anesthetic, and she passed away peacefully. Her ashes are also still with us, waiting for us to decide how to honor her life.
On to less miserable topics-
Moving house! Happened cause the roommates we moved in with ended up paranoid assholes who tried to get us evicted and/or arrested on falsified charges of theft! We had to call up the sheriff, police and the landlord, as well as a tenant-landlord lawyer, to get the roommates of our backs. We moved out as soon as we were able to keep their assholery from reoccurring and possibly resulting in legal actions.
My partner and I ended up staying with a mutual friend for a couple months while we hunted for a new place, and now we've been staying in a pretty nice duplex that we're currently hoping won't price us out come the next lease reup (there's consulting of tenant-landlord lawyers in the plan for negotiating with the landlord). Other than fretting over funds, we're pretty alright.
Job! Parks and Rec invited me back to a longer season, and I just recently got invited back again, and I may actually apply for a year round full time position. The people are great, I enjoy the work I do, the benefits are excellent, and I even have a supervisor who Gives A Shit for once.
Pretty sure the job kept me from a depression spiral when Dad and Tali passed away back to back.
Rapid fire what else- Got a new to me car, reconnected with a bunch of friends from old fandoms, made new friends in an entirely new fandom, started looking into possibly going back to school, helped my mom with buying a house and a car, got sick with Covid twice, got two cavities drilled and filled, played way too much Cult Of The Lamb...
I think that's it? At least, that's all I can remember anymore.
It's been A Lot.
What does this say for this project?
Well, I still want to put work into it. I want to reinvest myself and my interests into this world that I've created. Considering current Tumblr drama, I may end up seeing how much I can transition over to something less fragile, like Neocities. I haven't made a webpage in so long it's ridiculous, but it could be worth it to mirror all my Tumblr projects onto something that I can actually archive.
It's a bit up in the air, and I apologize in advance if I vanish again, since I'm going to be going back to work at the end of March and I'm not sure how much energy I'll have to juggle. Whatever happens-
Thank you all for participating in this experience with me. You all have made this silly little side project a true joy, and I'm thankful for everyone who has made it possible.

Hello all!
I wanted to hop on here and throw in a little update post since it's been a little bit since I've done one. Never hurts to keep ya'll in the loop!
As you can tell, it's been pretty slow around these parts. I'm sorry for that, it's been a crazy rollercoaster in life recently for a lot of us and it's been hard to get things (especially art) out on my part due to massive burnout. But I wanted to reassure some of the asks we got that no, we are not stopping/quitting the project because the instagram is shut off for the time being. I know when it disappears, it can be a little alarming, but I typcially deactivate it when life gets busy and social media can't be updated accordingly. Plus the instagram crowd is a tough one.
Anyways, just wanted to rest assure that we are slowly but surely doing things! We're getting ready to embark on the finalization of rough drafts for Book 2! Which means we've completed Book 1's plotting and pacing, what comes next for that is scripting and minor edits that we're making once we begin finalizing Book 2. We are going to plot and finalize all four books before we begin on the physical comic, that way we know what the story is beforehand. It saves me and the others a big headache.
Fair warning, Book 2 may take a little bit of time because it will be longer than the other three. However, we've got a good idea of where we're taking it, so I don't think it'll be too daunting!
As for the art team, we've been cooking up some stuff! I'll share some new art soon (once I've colored it). Again, we're taking our time with the comic, so it might seem very very slow and agonizing. But I promise everyone that we will come out with a comic. I've been working on it for nearly 4 years, and I don't plan on stopping!
We've had a few hiccups which have delayed things over the past year, folks leaving the team, needing to readjust characters/plots, so a lot of the slowness also comes down to fixing things that may not work now since we've done more in the plotting arena and such.
But that's about it for the updates right now! I'll try and keep up with these types of posts more once I get more content ready and postable. I've recently started a new job and am switching college grad programs, so it's been a little bit of a hassle. However, always feel free to send in questions or things into the inbox! I do check the account regularly and am happy to chat, discuss, or answer things.
