Charles representation enjoyed here again! I’ve not read much of the comics bc I can’t afford them but I just rewatched FC and I was wondering if Charles being paralyzed is the same in the comics (Erik doing it)? Do they often include that part of his story?

hello my inquisitive friend :] !!!! im more than happy to give some more info bout the origins charles' disability in the comics- to the best of my abilities that is !

while they don't include an origin for his paralysis in EVERY story/run, as far as i know there are three major ways charles loses his mobility (though like yourself, i havent read many of the comics so far, so i could be missing a few. this is the part where i invite readers to submit additional info if im leaving any out)

the very first manner of charles losing his legs was relayed to us in the original X-Men run of the 60's in issue #20

(X-Men #20: "I, Lucifer!")

before magneto was regarded as charles' main adversary there was the extraterrestrial lucifer (who sported the same color scheme, ironically. it wasnt as though lucifer came before magneto so it was definitely A Choice..) who charles would have a semi-reoccurring feud with for a bit early on in the series. during their first encounter, charles would corner lucifer in his lair only to have a stone slab dropped on him, disabling his legs indefinitely

the second manner in which charles loses his mobility- and the time where erik is the most involved and is most deliberate- comes from. Our Favorite Universe in 2001: The Ultimate Universe

(Ultimate X-Men #1: "The Tomorrow People")

as is typically how charles x magneto team-up arcs go, while charles and erik worked together for some time it wasn't very long before erik wanted to pursue more Dramatic Measures for mutantkind. and As This Story Goes, amidst trying to escape the savage lands sanctuary he and erik built, erik drove a metal spike through charles' spine, leading to his disability in this verse

lastly, we have the House of M- or more specifically its prequel miniseries, Civil War: House of M- verse in 2008:

similar to Ultimate and the movies, this is another timeline where charles and erik team up. this time however, charles is more willing to follow erik's ideas after seeing the horrors of genosha upon reading the mind of a mutant who escaped the island, and the two seek to liberate the other mutants left behind. unfortunately, during their mission, a sentinel collapses the building charles and co. are infiltrating, leading to the loss of his legs

Hii. Ok, so, while I do follow them on Instagram and Twitter, I never noticed anything until they talked about it during the MLC promo a few weeks ago, so I definitely don't know the full story, but here is a short summary of all the information that I’ve managed to gather from Twitter.

Apparently, there was a 4-5 month period last year where Earth and Mix were fighting (so-called their “divorce era”). It started with them going from constantly hanging out together to never interacting with each other anymore and fans quickly noticed something was up. Then this video from the MLC set was posted and it only further fueled all the speculations (it looks like a perfectly normal video to me tbh but to some, it looked like Mix was angry or like he was sulking 🤷)

They also had a few work events during that time and fans reported a noticeable tension between them. There was also a lot of subtweeting and indirecting on their social media including posts like this:

funny how this fic started off as an "unserious" idea (not cracky, more so i didn't take it that seriously, it was basically so i could rotate certain characters from my head into a google doc), i didn't expect to care abt it as much as i do now like i have a basic chapter layout for half of the set chapter count, specific scenes prewritten, a planning doc with around five pages thus far, the basics (title, summary, etc), random scenes for it spinning around in my head, and a bit of chapter one and three pages of chapter four written 😭

Okay I've decided to canonically leave sinag in the Fade regardless of anything because the angst is too delicious (sorry varric :c) and because @wardenalissa suggested this and.....I wanna do it

the one thing I can't decide is if I should make alistair king or keep him a warden...

because no matter what, the development for amihan and alistair is different from the game.

if alistair stays a Warden, Amihan and Alistair don't get together during DAO because amihan has to get it together first. they get together 7 years after, so beginning of act 3 in DA2 (and they've become very close friends then). the happier ending

if alistair becomes king it's because realistically, the way amihan is, she WOULD tell alistair "that's how the world is" and he would choose to be king. she'd also still harbor feelings for him since the Blight but now that he's king she gave up on it, and just like if he stays a Warden, they end up becoming close friends but cannot be together because of their stations in life

the 2nd one is obviously angstier one but I also think it's delicious lmaoo I am not immune to star-crossed lovers

Re: working out motivation.

I know it sounds silly but just stretching is a good motivator because you have 1 of 2 outcomes; either you stretch and you think “well i already started moving so might as well as keep going” or you can go back to doing nothing but at least you got some movement.

Plus i like to watch tv/listen to music while i stretch since i just have to hold the same pose for a bit instead of focusing on a full workout.

oh yeah i've been trying to be better about at least doing some stretches (not a routine, just whatever i think will feel good) in the morning like while i wait for my coffee or something. i've lost a lot of mobility so that's something that is a priority even above other types of exercises.

music is good, tv or videos are too distracting (i find myself just stopping whatever exercise i'm doing, i guess i can't multitask lol), but i do have a playlist for exercising :)

i think a big de-motivator for me, and it really is small but it does unmotivate me, is that i have to get things ready to exercise and then put it all back. like i need to change clothes because i NEED to put on a bra (exercising without one is NOT good for me lmao) so i drag my feet about it. but i guess that's just something i need to suck up and do since i'm an adult lmao

finished my second stp playthrough!

i loved this one too it had a slope of redemption which i really liked and that made the ending really sweet

the only part i disliked is that i chickened out when i got the nightmare (it wasn't what i wanted to get i didn't think it would actually let me run away lmao) and just turned around and ended up getting the denial achievement, which is fine but i kinda wish i got the razor instead she would've fit into the story better i think

the vessels i did get are as follows! first i got the adversary which i loved she is definitely one of my favourites, then i got the fury which i quite liked, i was aiming for apotheosis but i did it wrong oops, then i got the drowned grey which im gonna be so real i completely forgot i was sitting here so confused like which one did i miss?? then i got the princess and the dragon which i loved so so much that was such a cute route absolute cutiepie, and finally i got thorn! i love thorn she's a favourite for sure, i did the romance route and it's so sweet <33

i was kind of a bitch to the shifting mound but like im not a fan of shifty LMAO it was my plan to go with her but i couldn't do it i just don't want to 😭 so i ran away with the princess again! im glad i did because i got to see how different the dialogue is if you started out with violence, it felt like a really fitting end so im happy with it!

Okayy so Justin is Green Diamond and Lawrence is a Lazulite. I don't know anything about lazulites. I literally just search a gem with the letter L loll and chose the one that looked cool.

Anywayss what I thought was a particular corrupted gem has been causing discord by destroying supplies, property, and he's been hurting other gems. So this particular corrupted gem is disrupting progress and order, and Green Diamond fuckin hates that shitt. So he organizes a group of strong gems to hunt down this particular corrupted gem and capture him. That's where Lazulite comes in. He was selected and is the latest members. He is introduced to Green Diamond and has never seen him before. Idk maybe Green Diamond doesn't go out often I have no fuckin idea. Lazulite is enamoured by his beauty and becomes determined to know him jskjsksk

I don't actually know how they get together, but they do or something. I don't know how to build their relationship casually lmaoo.

I did thought that later on Lazulite learns more about the particular corrupted gem and becomes conflicted as he can not bring himself to capture him, but if he doesn't, he fears disappointing Green Diamond.
