FAVE ANON HERE 😏
It’s been a minute since I’ve submitted but after the vitriol I have seen on Twitter this weekend, I felt the need to speak…
First things first, all of us are brought here with one definitive common thread - we are all fans of Bridgerton. If we were not, we would probably not find ourselves in this fandom at all.
With that being said, if you’re on this blog you are probably a fan of both Nicola AND Luke. More than likely, you want them to be together romantically or believe they already are. And if you don’t want any of that, I don’t know why you’re here reading this posts. This is how you become a troll.
You are allowed to be a fan of one and not the other. This is not a dictatorship and no one is holding a gun to your heads. But this is the point where it is VITAL for me to remind you how many times Nic and Luke have a real love for each other and at the core are best friends. WHAT THIS MEANS IS you cannot call yourself a fan of one of them while simultaneously spreading hate and contempt and overall nastiness about the other one all over social media.
Now I have approached the topic of the RUMORED insignificant others. Did you know that there is no general rule of fandom that states if you are a fan of a character performer that you must also become a fan of any performers they may date now or in the future? WHAT THIS MEANS IS THAT no one is required to become Jake’s #1 fan just because the rumor mill wants to say Nic is dating him. Hell no one has to become his #1 fan if Nic herself came out and said she was dating him. Again, there is no need to speak with malice about his looks or his talent all over the internet but you do not have to be a fan. Same goes for the dancer who shall not be named (I know it’s a trigger for many around here). And if they act in deplorable ways - such as the dancer has displayed in the past - you are allowed to speak out on it while using decorum.
This is ultimately bringing me back to why I wrote this today. Tell me why I’m seeing tweets talking about how Jake is a more successful and more talented actor than Luke. Tweets saying Luke can’t act and how amazing Jake is. These tweets are from Bridgerton “fans”. These tweets are from Nicola “fans”. Based on everything I’ve written up until now, the math ain’t mathing on the word “fan”.
I’m not spreading hate to Jake. Fact of the matter, he’s a 24 year old kid almost fresh out of drama school. He has had one season of a failed show on a streaming network riddled with failed shows. He now has a small part in a movie that probably is not even recognized yet out of this fandom and extreme movie fans - if we’re being honest. Luke is 31 and is on his 4th season of one of Netflix’s top shows. He was the male lead last season and the season broke records. He was on a Disney channel show when he was younger. He was on multiple stage shows on the West End. He’s had many other roles in smaller projects and just picked up a lead role in a new film. While it is considered an independent film, it is a LEAD role.
With that evidence laid out, how can anyone actually say with their full chest that Jake is the better and more successful actor? Oh right they can’t. What it comes down to is the fact that the “Jakola shipping” movement is not based on anything more than being an Anti-Luke Newton movement and it is GROSS. No matter what they tell you, there was no “relationship” being universally talked about prior to late summer. On August 25 those festival pictures were released and some very twisted narcissistic people in this fandom took them and ran with them. They created a narrative to help dictate what and who people in this fandom are allowed to discuss online. They’ve bullied creators off of TikTok and Twitter and gaslight the hell out of everyone when called on it. A 24 year old gay man (OMG I SAID IT) is being bullied on the internet and the blame is fully being put on “Lukolas” when the truth is that no one would be paying any attention to him if this narrative wasn’t perpetuated in the first place. (Side note: if you’re sending hate to Jake on behalf of being a Lukola, please stop. Please treat him like you treat every other one of Nic’s male friends. No one should be getting hate.)
The majority of the hate and toxicity in this fandom stems with the Jakolas Jackholes and those who blindly follow and defend a certain creator. I’m not going to say her name because I know how much she gets off on people talking about her (even when it’s bad) AHAH. This is the shit that everyone else is afraid to say out loud but it’s true. And for those of you in that discord reading this to report back, hiiii!
Oh and if anyone has a problem with this and wants to call me out for being on Anon, let me know and I’ll DM you because I’m not afraid. I’m grownup.
Xx
Finally seeing people with common sense!
My fave anon pulls through yet again.
Everyone say thank you fave anon.

@ante--meridiem you’re making sense to me.
I often will use the term “shitty person” over “bad person” (“Wooooow, Mitch McConnell is a shitty person. I knew he was right wing but wow, he really did go above and beyond to not work with Obama and then fold to Trump.”) for the reason you give. I don’t know why it is, but “bad person” sounds more like it might mean “born evil,” where “shitty person” for some reason has more of a connotation that you could’ve been something else and you Just Kept Going.
I just feel like tabooing “bad person” can and sometimes does have the side effect of shaming traumatized people for expressing justified anger without caveats. (When, at least from my own experience, we’re *often* scrupulosity spiraling about whether or not they knew better, as one very common coping mechanism for us is to decide that our abusers must be correct that what they do IS really our fault. If we rely on them for housing and food, it’s a lot easier to think to ourselves “I must’ve set them off. I can do better next time and then they’ll feed me” than to acknowledge “They’re capricious. I might not get fed, just because that’s how they are.”)
So to me, we need at least to be forgiving of that phrasing, because someone may be just beginning to try out the idea that they didn’t deserve what happened at all. In my experience what helps someone in that particular circumstance is to be told by their support system “no, you don’t need to take that back. You’re not angry because you’re ungrateful or judgmental. You’re anger because that was, full stop no question about it, straight up trufax just wrong.”
Or they might even be me, who is used enough to the idea that I’m angry and it’s okay to fucking CALL MYSELF FIERCE AWAKENING, but who still falls into patterns of “I’m so judgy! I deserve to have bad things happen to me because I can’t stop judging other people!” and therefore really wishes people would choose a different hill to die on.
The other thing is… I don’t know if it’s right to say we Disagree on judging yourself. Like, yeah, thinking “I am a bad person” is destructive, and is usually repetition of something someone who traumatized you told you.
But there’s a different thing, where you look at yourself and ask “am I living in accordance with my values? When faced with hard decisions, do I choose the thing that reflects the character I want to cultivate, even if I’m scared?”
Which I think is broadly what you mean when you say “don’t think of yourself as a good person, as you might forget there are things you still need to fix.”
Like I’m pretty sure that if I told myself straight up I’m not a good person, my brain would take that to mean I should commit suicide, as that sounds weirdly unfixable.
But “do my choices reflect my aspirations? Do I have work to do?” Doesn’t do the same thing.
And that’s I think why I get so frustrated with tumblr’s way of talking sometimes. Like there seem to me to be a lot of people who say things like “I’m a narcissist; what were you expecting from me? You shouldn’t think I’ll give you that weird empathy thing. But if you reject me because I didn’t, that’s ableism.”
And I’m just “dude, you can’t have it both ways!
“If you’re telling me the way you act is fixed because of your neurotype, then I’m justified in telling you I and others need to keep our distance because your pattern of behavior is highly likely to stay the same.
“If you’re telling me I can’t assume because of your label that you act the way the diagnostic criteria say someone with the label acts, then you don’t get to tell me I’m being ableist and demanding the impossible when I ask you to show empathy through your actions.”

Transiting Mars enters Leo
Saturday, May 20 - Monday, July 10, 2023
Sometimes I feel like astrologers may owe Dolt 45 some gratitude for being such a perfect example of the worst of his various natal placements. His natal Mars is in Leo, and conjunct his Ascendant from the 12th House. There’s all the screaming narcissistic in-your-face faux machismo! “Notice me or else!”
Remember, that’s a misused Mars/Leo - the cautionary tale, if you will. In The Book of Fire, Steven Forrest refers to awry transits through Leo with, “When Ego and Insecurity Steal the Show.” That’s what we have to be careful about over the next several months - Mars is in Leo now; Venus joins him on June 5 and remains in the sign until October 8.
Looking at Mars’ various areas:
Physical strength - actor Arnold Schwarzenegger has a Leo Sun. We can get excessively competitive, vain, or performative about our physiques - it’s more for show, rather than any boring practical necessity. If we’re strong, we like to show off.
Energy levels - this position often doesn’t know when to quit, or at least rest for a bit. We tend to just go whole hog, whole-heartedly, all the time. It’s really important to (learn how to) pace ourselves - before we hurt ourselves.
Sexuality - romantic! Really into the drama and romance of it all. Can go overboard with wooing the object of our affections. We’re passionate, loving, and fun in bed. This is another area where “not knowing when to quit” can get us into trouble. Other people are not required to requite our affections.
How we go after what we want - Mars wants to go in a straight line towards its goals. The shortest distance between two points is a line, and Mars wants to do like that! In Leo, though, we may complicate our plans just for the fun/drama of it. We’re quite gallant and chivalrous - real Knight of Wands energy, emphasis on the knight part of it.
There are some real trouble spots ahead, as well some assistance:
Saturday, May 20 - Mars/Leo opposite Pluto Rx/Aquarius, 0°16’
Monday, May 22 - Mars/Leo sextile Sun/Gemini, 0°54’
Tuesday, May 23 - Mars/Leo square Jupiter/Taurus, 1°28’
Wednesday, May 24 - Mars/Leo square North Node/Taurus and South Node/Scorpio, 2°34’
Thursday, June 1 - Mars/Leo inconjunct Saturn/Pisces, 7°00’
Sunday, June 11 - Mars/Leo 12° sesquiquad Neptune/Pisces 27°, semi-square Ceres/Virgo 27°
Wednesday, June 21 - Mars/Leo sextile Mercury/Gemini, 18°39’
Thursday, June 22 - Mars/Leo trine Chiron/Aries, 19°34’
Monday, June 26 - Mars/Leo square Uranus/Taurus, 21°29’
Sunday, July 2 - Mars/Leo trine Eris/Aries, 25°13’
Thursday, July 6 - Mars/Leo inconjunct Neptune Rx/Pisces, 27°40’
Sunday, July 9 - Mars/Leo inconjunct Pluto Rx/Capricorn, 29°25’
Mars/Leo begins with one difficult alignment (a fixed t-square with Jupiter/Taurus and Pluto Rx/Aquarius) - and finishes with another (a yod involving inconjuncts to Neptune Rx/Pisces and Pluto Rx/Capricorn). Larger things happening in the wider world play a role in how this Mars transit goes - Steven wrote, “You have a right to take up some space. You have a right to have your needs met.” So does everyone else, though - don’t be a Dolt 45 type! Better examples to follow include Eckhart Tolle, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Jon Stewart, Mark Hamill, and about 8,000 musicians (Beyonce, Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr…).

My Brain, softly and with regret: why. did you have to choose. the most Extra song choice for your audition that consistently remains in the high belt when literally any other song in your book could show off belting without being So
Me, the one who thinks doing the Most is the only way to be considered as someone with potential and also maybe deep down is a bit of an attention heaux but more importantly someone who needs the danger of failing at the Most for adrenaline kix:
:^)
#op#fjddkkdkdls i really am Okay like its all good just the pre audition jitters#idk what it is because i go full zen for performing#like im aware that i have to trust my instinct and forget Myself and just totally absorb in what it Is and leave Me behind in a scene#because if i dont do that and go completely blank before stepping on stage i /will/ get too caught up in myself and mess up#but with auditioning its far more difficult to get into that headspace disksk#maybe its because im not actively trying to impress people? im just Being#yeah i think some of the Anxiety is the awareness that while this is a performance - it is inherently one to be judged rather than simply#enjoyed#you have to show your worth in 60 seconds#and you dont get to fully abandon You for the sake of the character because youre selling You the moment you walk in#hoooo boy if we’re gonna get Really Deep about why i love acting and choose to do it mmmmm it might be partly because being someone else#allows me to exist in a headspace where i get to be fully vulnerable and bare myself and i miiiight seek out being other people because i#feel more comfortable and drawn to them - fjfjdksksl the psych 101 course take on actors!#we’re all narcissists and we all like other people better than ourselves#oh the cognitive dissonance#anyways! djdjdkd ive veered off topic again -#i always do better at call backs - idk it’s weird ive never liked improv and yet feel far more comfortable being asked to cold read or#perform things on the spot - maybe it’s because im provided instruction and am given inherent leeway in the sudden task rather than#everything fallen fully on me based on a few seconds to demonstrate ~talent~#fmfkfkkdks who knows!! we psychoanalyze to death when we a bit anxious#anyways! ignore me im Good just rambling to decompress as i do dkdkdkdls#feels better to shout into the void#helps my Brain feel productive in decompressing and be satisified to Cease

can you do a fic that’s like the ep’s “hit” and “run,” but it’s Y/N and Spencer’s child they have to save, and not JJ’s?
pairings: spencer reid x reader, platonic!bau x reader
warnings: mentions of getting shot, bank robbery, blood, kidnapping, worry, cm stuff.
about: requested! s7 e23-24 but spencer and y/n’s child is at risk (jemily is canon btw, will knows)
thank you so much for requesting! sorry it took me so long and it's going to have to be in two parts, since apparently it was too long lol, it'll be up as soon as i'm done editing it! (i also promise it gets better in the next part-) part two
-
the ticking clock on your wrist seemed to pulse with each move the arms made, each one notifying you that you were running a little later than before. when spencer rounded the corner to your mother’s house, you sighed in short relief, unbuckling your seat belt when he parked and getting out of the car to open the door to the back, smiling at your son in his booster seat. “hey, bug,” you whispered, undoing his seatbelt and pressing your lips to his head in a weak attempt to wake him up. spencer was taking things out of the trunk hurriedly, setting them down and walking to the door of the house, where your mother was already waiting.
you pulled your little boy into your arms, seeing as he wasn’t fully awake yet and would probably stumble over his feet if you set him down. you only hummed when his fingers twisted in your shirt, holding you close.
“hey, mom,” you greeted, giving her a kiss on the cheek. spencer’s hand rested on your lower back, the other adjusting emiliano’s hair.
“i’m sorry we’re so late, it was supposed to be a day off so yesterday we stayed up late, and emi wouldn’t wake up,” you said, your mom nodding as a response, "oh it's no problem, honey," she assured, stretching her arms out.
you kissed emiliano on the head again as a goodbye, smiling when he made a little noise and handed him to spencer, who pressed a gentle kiss to his forehead before giving him to your mom. you waved goodbye to your son, heart stinging a bit from the disappointment that you weren’t going to spend the day with him like planned. “bye, mom! we’ll be back later, i love you!”
your mom sent you a goodbye you barely heard as you and spencer sped walked back to your car, driving to work late.
-
the ten minutes you were running late didn’t seem like such a big deal when you realized practically everyone else was behind schedule as well, although you couldn’t blame anyone, it was supposed to be your free day. spencer had even planned to go to a comic con with penelope, but he had only been able to start to get dressed before everyone got called in.
you and spencer were still in the car, examining the scene before getting out. outside, spencer planted a quick kiss on your lips, and you smiled, giving his hand a squeeze, then joining your team.
you stood between spencer and jj, greeting the others with a small nod and a smile before hotch began to list facts about the case. out of the corner of your eye, you noticed jj and emily’s hands tangling together, and a small smile sneaked onto your lips. your eyes flicked up to will’s face, realizing he had seen it too.
you looked back to hotch, who was still talking.
“... killed one person in each robbery.”
rossi voiced the question you had before you could, “m.o.?”
“single gunshot wound. each of the victims has bled out,” hotch explained and you all began walking towards the large vehicle housing penelope, sometimes cutting in with thoughts.
“serial killers with a thirty day cooling off period and we’re only just hearing about this now?” emily asked.
“headquarters identified them as robbers first and killers second,” hotch said, and you raised an eyebrow, “no one kills seven people without serious psychopathic tendencies- especially in the span of seven months.”
“i agree; i disagreed with the original assessment, but i was overruled.”
you nodded, continuing to listen to what hotch was saying as you walked into the fbi rv.
“why haven’t we been able to id them off of surveillance footage?” derek asked.
“they hack the security feed and turn off the cameras. both during the initial canvass and during the robbery, until the masks come back on, and then we’re allowed to watch.”
you squeezed penelope’s shoulder as a greeting, and she only smiled, blowing you a kiss as she continued to type.
you looked up at the screen showcasing the surveillance, running your eyes through the hostages. “they’re using the hostages as human shields,” you observed out loud.
“this is the first time they’ve been interrupted. what went wrong?” jj asked; the rest of the team voiced their thoughts until hotch gave everyone orders on what to do and where to go.
“jj, reid, and prentiss, look over past robberies, that’s going to be our victimology. pull another analyst if you need to. dave, handle negotiations, and morgan and l/n, strategize tactical options with mpd.”
you all nodded, and you squeezed spencer’s hand once more as a goodbye, walking out with derek.
-
you only had a few minutes to introduce yourself to mpd when a gunshot rang, making you flinch slightly and realize you would have even less time you thought.
“l/n?” a staticky voice you recognized as penelope interrupted your talk with the officer who was going to go in to help the injured bank robber, and you apologized as you pulled the intercom from your pocket.
“yeah, pen?”
“we got names. chris and oliver stratton. they’re brothers. oliver is the injured one”
“chris and oliver stratton," you repeated, "thank you, penny.”
“always, sweetie.”
you relayed the information to the officer with you and derek, who was currently loading up his weapon before reaching to put it in his pants. derek stopped him before he could, “no, no, no, no, i want you to put that in your bag.”
the officer paused, as if asking why, and you responded, “the woman’s probably going to want to search you,” you pushed the medical bag closer, watching as he put the weapon inside, “but chris is going to be too worried about his brother to delay long enough for her to check the bag, too.”
“alright.”
derek and you shared a look, “you’re going in to provide medical assistance, no unnecessary risks, hear me?” derek said, and the officer nodded.
“once you stabilize oliver, check on the hostage they just shot, he might still be alive,” you added. “understood,” officer green replied.
“do not draw your weapon unless you can subdue the unsubs without endangering the hostages,” derek told him, and green nodded again, zipping up the bag. “yes, sir.”
he began to walk over to the bank entrance, and you went over with rossi and hotch with derek; you stared at the screen with the surveillance, spotting the officer you’d just talked to walk in,
“shit,” you muttered, realizing the brother was probably going to die. “this isn’t good, hotch,” you said, and hotch didn’t reply.
“morgan, tell green to make a move before chris does.”
morgan touched his mic, pushing it closer to his lips, “green, you gotta go. green, go.”
you saw as he reached into his bag, pulling out his weapon in silence. chewing at your thumb, you froze when you saw chris reach for his own weapon, shooting green in the chest. you didn’t even have time to think over what just happened when chris shot him again in the head.
you could only blink and stare at green’s body lying lifeless on the floor, jaw clenched and hands shaking in frustration, trying to remain composed.
the next few minutes were a blur, swat was called and hotch and strauss argued about something you didn’t really pay attention to, “you okay, l/n?” derek asked and you nodded, “yeah. yeah, i’m fine, are you?”
derek only nodded, his attention taken away by rossi, who was waving him over.
“they called,” you realized, walking over to rossi.
“...i want an... armored truck and a plane with a cleared flight path to switzerland.”
a female voice cut in, “no, no, no. chad. we want to go to chad.”
“yeah,” chris said, “no agents with guns this time. we’ll fly ourselves.”
there was a click that indicated the conversation was over, and you swallowed hard, “i don’t think he’ll be happy she injected herself in like that.”
-
“these guys were too good to get caught. so, why did they?” rossi asked, and will, from next to you, answered, “911 received a call alerting them to a robbery in progress.”
penelope cut in from the screen in front of you, “actually, it was a text. dc added 911 messaging after the virginia tech students’ texts went unanswered during the massacre.”
“can you trace it, garcia?” hotch asked.
“yeah. that message was sent from a cell phone that is currently inside the bank that is registered to a… larry phillipis jr.”
will paused, “why does that name sound familiar?”
rossi was silent for a second, thinking, “that’s the name of one of the gunmen from the ‘97 north hollywood bank shootout in california.”
“so, is this an homage?” derek questioned, but no one was able to answer.
“guys, that message was sent thirty seconds before they blacked out the security feeds for entry.”
another voice offscreen that you recognized as strauss asked how that was possible, and derek answered, “it didn’t come from a hostage, it came from one of the robbers.”
you swallowed, “she wanted us here.”
-
jj and emily were back, and walking over to you and derek. “there’s no clear line of sight to the vault,” will noted, observing the map.
“no, but if we come in, that’s where they’ll go. we need to be ready for it,” derek stated, gazing up at the building.
“garcia caught us up. why instigate a hostage situation?” emily asked from next to you, and you shrugged, “what’s a narcissist without attention?” you answered, “she thrives on it.”
jj was looking around, “she must have something bigger in mind.”
you agreed silently, “well, we need to separate chris and the female to find out what that is.”
“it’s not going to be hard, they’re already on edge,” emily supposed.
rossi walked from the rv to the phone, taking your attention with him. you stared at him before noticing emily stepping over to him and leaving you to stay behind with derek, jj, and will. you all talked between each other, talking strategy and theories.
-
the next thing you knew, chris was asking for will, and jj was staring at will like he was crazy to even consider it. you were sat next to will, only listening to their conversation.
will was shaking his head, looking between jj and hotch before he turned to you. “i know you’d do it if you were me,” he told you, and you saw jj roll her eyes. “will, i get what you’re feeling, but you’re too close to this case to make this call.”
“you’re damn right i’m close,” will mumbled, “four people are dead because i shot his brother. and no one else needs to die because of what i did.”
you shook your head, “this isn’t about you.”
“risking your life won’t bring them back,” jj pointed out.
from in front of you, hotch sighed, “i’m sorry, will.”
you all stayed in silence for a while until emily walked in, a look on her face that made you sure the news she had wasn’t good. “he’s threatening to shoot more hostages until he has will.”
you sighed and will shook his head, standing up, “screw this, i’m going in.”
there was a panicked look across jj's features, mouth open to argue, but she didn't get to say anything. “no you’re not, we are,” hotch interjected.
-
in under three minutes, everyone was ready to go, vested up and anxiously waiting for the signal. you stood next to jj, biting your lip and staring at the map in your fingers, trying to strategize. you had barely looked up when you recognized will, walking towards the doors of the bank, seemingly unarmed with his hands raised. your eyes widened, lips mouthing an unheard no and you immediately turned to jj, who had barely seen him.
her mouth opened in a scream of protest, feet beginning to take off to try to stop him in any way she could, but derek had wrapped his arms around her chest, holding her back and off the ground, even as she fought against his arms. emily touched her arm in a useless attempt to calm her. you were frozen, only able to stand and stare and wait for the best that was probably not going to happen.
it was only three seconds that jj’s feet were on the ground, body trembling and eyes already rimmed red.
ten seconds passed by and three gunshots rang, loud and piercing and you pulled a hand to your lips, eyes following jj’s as she tried to run again, but you and derek pulled her back, letting her go when she planted her feet on the ground unsteadily, hand on her mouth.
-
you were all surrounding jj, apprehensive and waiting for her to blow up or scream.
“did you see where he was shot?” she asked finally, waiting for anyone to reply.
no one did, and after a moment of loud silence, she sniffed, her red brimmed eyes staring at penelope, “is he alive or dead, garcia?”
penelope stuttered, “i- i don’t know.”
“he was wearing a vest,” emily reassured, “he might be okay.”
jj scoffed, staring at her girlfriend, “might be,” she repeated bitterly.
one of the two missing from the group walked inside in a hurry, bad news no one needed from rossi’s mouth, “they’re not answering.”
jj stood up, shaking her head, “alright, we need to get inside.”
derek grabbed her arm gently, “it’s too risky, jj, we don’t have eyes inside anymore.”
jj’s eyes were wet as she looked up at hotch, pleading. “aaron...” she begged, and after a second, hotch nodded. “let’s go in.”
you all stood, walking outside.
-
not two minutes later, they called, just before you were about to go in.
“want to save the life of mister william lamontagne jr.? one medic that won’t pull the same shit the last one did, or else i’m killing them both.”
“we’re going in anyways,” derek pointed out, and emily nodded, “yeah, but the way we’re going in, it’s more likely the hostages and will won’t make it. if we send someone in, there’s a higher chance we can get them out.”
hotch was thinking, his forehead creasing as he stared at the paramedics. “we need an agent in there.”
“send me,” you said promptly, all eyes going on you. “i have medical training. i was an intern at the hospital before i decided i wanted to be a profiler. i can help him and i can take them down, hotch.”
“absolutely not- that would just be sending another agent in there for them to kill,” derek argued, but you ignored him, staring at hotch, “hotch.”
“l/n…”
“we don’t know how he’s doing, but chris just said we could send a medic in, i’m going to guess that isn’t a great sign. i can do it, i’m an agent, i’m capable, they haven’t seen me or heard my voice, i can fight well without a weapon, you know that.”
jj was staring at you, her fingers tangled with emily’s.
hotch was silent for a second, contemplating what you’d just said, “get your vest on,” he said finally, and you nodded, squeezing jj’s hand before putting said object on.
before going in, you grabbed morgan’s arm, pulling him aside. “i don’t know where spence is, and i’m really not sure what’s going on in there so, if anything happens-”
“y/n-”
“please.” you begged, and derek only nodded.
“if anything happens, my will is in my second drawer, tell him i love him and please don’t let him think it over too much.”
a voice that belonged to hotch interrupted you, “l/n!”
“i’m gonna be okay, tell him that. tell everyone that, okay?” you asked, and derek nodded,
you took a deep breath before walking over to hotch and grabbing your medical bag, double checking you had everything.
hotch had stood in the tent, behind you, only watching you from afar while you pulled on your vest straps, tightening it around your chest. you put on another shirt over it, leaving it invisible to anyone who wasn't looking close enough. you had smiled at hotch before beginning to leave, one of his hands wrapping around your arm and pulling you still.
“hey,” he said softly, “be careful.” you nodded, “yeah. of course.”
his hand loosened, and you sighed, walking away and towards the dreaded bank, arms up and medical bag hanging off your fingers.
the moment your fingers touched the door handle, you could just feel something was wrong, but you couldn’t risk anything- especially will and the hostage’s lives just because of a feeling.
so you pulled the door open, and stepped into the bank, eyes searching for will, who confirmed your bad feeling because he was sitting up, someone putting pressure on his wounds.
“what-”
“get inside! right now unless you want both him and you to die!”
-
you should’ve known it was a trap, you should’ve just listened to hotch and derek and stayed put, but you didn’t and now it was probable you were going to die.
will was fine, for the most part, he had a bullet wound to his shoulder, but he was up, talking to one of the hostages. you set your medical bag down, observing chris.
the woman had gone somewhere else, and you took the time she wasn’t there to try to communicate with her partner.
“chris,” you started, walking over to him. his gun was quickly raised at you, and you slowed to a stop, raising your hands. “i’m unarmed, as you requested, i’m just a medic.”
his hold on the gun wavered but it didn’t lower, “what?” he demanded, and you swallowed.
“you can’t trust her- the woman. she’s taking orders from someone else.”
chris shook his head, “she’s taking orders from me.”
you shrugged, “chris, take a look around you. when this place is stormed- and it will be stormed, they are going to take all the bad guys, but right, now, i only see one.”
chris looked away from you, and you heard will walk up behind you, “she’s setting you up to take the fall for this, boy.”
chris peered at him, “that’s not true.” he stated, “and how would you know?” he snapped, eyes staring back at yours, “aren’t you just a medic?”
you nodded, “they told me. the feds- they told me they found evidence of that. you can’t trust her.”
the answer seemed to please chris, and he shook his head again, “that’s not true,” he repeated, and you shrugged, trying to act natural, “then where is she?” you asked. chris pointed to his right, “she’s back there.”
you heard will hum from beside you, “huh.”
chris got up all of the sudden, pointing the gun at you and will. “alright, you both, come here. i’ll show you.”
you and will exchanged a look, and he gazed behind you at something you couldn’t see.
“go on,” chris urged, and you began to walk with will, almost falling when chris pushed your shoulder harshly.
you and will were ushered into one of the rooms of the bank, where a few black duffel bags were discarded on the floor. you dismissed them, too busy with the sensation of a barrel of a gun pressed against your back. the woman stepped out of a door, eyebrow raised as she studied at you.
“what the hell are you doing down here?” chris asked, pushing you and will aside to point his gun at the woman.
“calm down,” the woman responded calmly, “you’ll find out soon enough.”
chris didn't like her answer, shaking the gun, “tell me.” he demanded, and a sour look passed by the woman’s face.
what happened next was a blur. the woman muttered something to chris and he picked up the duffel bags, ushering you and will outside. you dropped the bracelet emiliano had made for you outside of the door- in the hope that someone of your team would find it- before you were pushed into the backseat of a car.
on the road, you looked around, trying to figure out where you were and making sure will was okay, while the woman- who you heard chris call izzy- played the recording of the bank on a loop in front of you. you pried your eyes away from the screen, instead trying to form a plan in your head.
“what the hell is that? you recorded it?” chris asked, but izzy didn’t look up, too preoccupied with the images on her tablet.
“i’m talking to you, izzy!” chris said, “you planned this whole thing,” he thought out loud, looking back at the road, “you didn’t tell us any of it, you set us up.”
izzy wasn’t paying any attention to him, but chris continued to talk, “you killed my brother.”
at this, izzy responded, but she still didn’t look at him, the gun in her other hand still pointed at you, “no, that would be him.” she stated, bored.
chris eyed at you and will from the rearview mirror. “how do i know they aren’t your partners?”
izzy watched you, “why would i work with them?” she questioned, and chris was getting increasingly frustrated, “why would you do any of this?”
izzy took her eyes off yours to turn to chris, who glanced at her. “fbi said you got somebody else.”
izzy smiled, “you sound jealous.”
chris raised a gun to her, “who is it?”
izzy rolled her eyes in response, “put that away. this isn’t about revenge, it’s about survival.”
a confused look passed over chris face, and izzy continued, “if you haven’t figured it out yet, i’m your only way out of this mess.”
chris moved the gun from her to will, “alright, let me kill them so we can get on with it.”
izzy shook her head, eyes drifting back to the tablet, “we need them.”
“why?”
izzy’s was now distracted by the video, replying distractedly. “leverage. we need to fix him up.”
“and how do you propose you do that?”
izzy shrugged, pointing at you, “she can do it.”
you shook your head, “i can’t, i don’t have my medical bag. and even if i did, i don’t have what i need to do anything.”
izzy was attentive at this, and she gave instructions to chris, driving to an unknown destination.
-
shit, you thought, staring at the outside of your window when the car pulled up to a fire department. you flinched when chris opened the door to your side and pulled you out, a gun held against your back. izzy did the same to will, standing behind the ambulance door and demanding the medic to fix will.
you were shoved to the wall, a gun against the side of your chest and a promise you would die if you moved whispered in your ear while will was getting fixed up. you only heard a gunshot when you were back in the car with will and chris, and you shared a look with will, fingers curling around the cushion of the car in frustration.
-
izzy was taking a call, the voice from the other line muffled, and you couldn’t make out who it was or what they were saying.
she gave a location when she hung up, but chris locked his jaw and rounded the corner harshly, parking the car.
“i’m not going anywhere until you tell me the plan,” chris declared, and within a second, izzy had moved the gun from you to chris, shooting him twice.
you flinched at the loud noise, looking from chris to izzy. “what are you doing?” will asked, and izzy shrugged, “he talks too much.”
“go ahead officer, get him out,” she ordered. “and do what, just leave him there?” will asked.
“yes please.”
she turned to you before will got out. “if you move an inch, i will kill him.”
you only nodded, staring at her as she motioned will to leave the car.
when chris was out, writhing on the floor, she glared at you. “you’re driving. get out.”
i can leave, but i can’t leave will here and she’ll shoot me for sure if i run. will can’t fight her right now. without a safe option, you agreed, eyeing will as he entered the backseat again, and you climbed where chris resided, only able to stare as izzy hastily cleaned the blood off the seat.
when you were inside, hands on the wheel, she pointed a gun at will, “go ahead. drive.”
so you did.
-
you stopped where she told you, watching in the rearview mirror as the hostage will had been talking to climbed in, patting will on the back. “hey will. you see that?”
“i want to do it again,” izzy smiled, watching the man- matthew as izzy referred to him. “we will,” he assured.
izzy turned back to you, “drive. you know the way.”
you glared at her, unmoving. she frowned, shoving the gun into your ribs, “drive,” she hissed. when you still didn’t react, she squeezed will’s gunshot wound, pushing the barrel on the side of his head. “or he dies.”
“drive,” matthew stated simply, and at the sight of izzy’s finger dancing around the trigger, you did.
-
you could only tighten the grip you had on the steering wheel when you parked in front of your mother’s house, already spotting her playing with emiliano on the lawn.
izzy was staring at you, admiring the frustration on your features, “come on, medic,” she urged, pointing the weapon at you again before putting it in her bag.
you opened the door of the car and walked out, forcing a smile on your face when izzy leaned up to your ear, “you better play nice, or i’ll kill them all.”
you picked up your son when he saw you and squealed, his little arms wrapping around you. you kissed his forehead, “hey bug, i gotta talk to grandma, how about you go back to playing?”
“okay, momma,” emiliano nodded, and you put him down, watching as he ran over to one of the play houses you brought for him.
“hey honey, what are you doing here? i thought you and spencer were supposed to come later?” your mom questioned, her eyes scanning over izzy.
“have you been watching the news?” you queried, and she shook her head, “i heard what happened on the radio, is spencer still working?”
you nodded, “yeah, i wanted you to go with molly because of everything that was going on.”
“are you sure? i can stay,” your mom assured, and you shook your head. “no, no, it’s dangerous right now, and i trust molly.”
your mom looked back at izzy, asking a question with her eyes. “this is izzy, one of the detectives, she’s going to watch over emi.”
“okay, are you sure?” she asked again, and you nodded, relieved you had set up a safe word with her and that she had remembered. she only glanced back at you and emi before she got into her car, “call me for anything.”
you didn’t respond, calling your son, “c’mon, emi, let’s go inside.”
emiliano skipped ahead, running into the house, past you and izzy, who had been surprisingly quiet.
you turned back to her quickly, “if you touch him, i will kill you,” you promised, and izzy didn’t flinch. “if you touch me, he kills will, then a certain spencer reid, then you. you wanna leave your kid an orphan? be my guest.”
you clenched your jaw, glaring at izzy until emiliano ran up to you, tugging on your arm.
“momma, can we watch a movie?”
you took a deep breath and crouched down to him, offering your son a smile as you shook your head, “i can’t, not right now, bug, i have to work, so you’re going to stay with izzy and play with her for now, okay?”
emiliano nodded, and you kissed his head, assuring yourself you would not lose him, and he wouldn’t lose you. “i love you, bug, daddy and i will see you soon.”
emiliano smiled at you and planted a kiss on your cheek, giving you one more squeeze before you straightened up, staring at izzy for a second.
you walked out, hands trembling as you climbed back into the car, wanting more than anything to run back inside and take your son to his father, where you knew he'd be safe. but it wasn't an option right now. because right now, you had to leave your baby with a serial killer and you had to go sit in the car with another one.

Dad!Harry talks to his daughter about her questioning sexuality PART 2
part one
(Thank you all for liking the last post, my heart is so full.)
More about the twins, parents' discussions, and a girl's day of insight and vulnerability.
WC: 3.5 k
-----
After tucking June in bed, much to her playful annoyance, Harry made his way to the bedroom where the love of his life was resting. Crossing the hallway, he smiled to himself. There was nothing he loved more than being a trusted father. Having this responsibility lifted him, it guided him to be even better. Just replaying the conversation he had in his head was bringing extra moisture to his eyes. What could he say? He was a natural softie, this (y/n) knew so it was no different with his babies.
Right before making it to his shared bedroom, he instead turned to make his way to the younger ones' room. (y/n) might possibly be crossed with him if she finds out he awoke them just for some kisses, but she didn't have to know.
Shuffling into the room, lit by a nightlight that displayed soft stars on the kids' ceiling, he noticed both of them whispering to one another. Having them share a room was the conscious decision of the parents. Although they had a few rooms to spare, they preferred the twins to sleep together, as they quickly noticed how the two reacted when apart. Oftentimes, they'll find Mick in Mazzy's bed, or vice-versa. It is clear to the parents that the twins are most comfortable with one another, and separating them seemed borderline abusive.
"Hmmm, what're you two on about? Late, innit?" Harry softly spoke, with a smile on his face to clear any seriousness in his words.
"Dadaaaa" Mazzy dragged, smiling that her father was here. She sat up on her bed, making grabby arms as to drag her father further into the room. He was so weak for his babies and quickly made his way to her.
"Mazzy meet friends today. Talk dada," Mick explained in an annoyed tone, which Harry obviously found hilarious. Pardon him for not knowing the basis of their conversations. As he smiled to himself, he wrapped his arm around Mazzy as she further burrowed himself on his side, and he extended his hand to Mick (whose bed was a very short distance away from Mazzy's). "Bedtime dada, momma said sleep" Mick said seriously to his father as he reluctantly grabbed his hand.
Harry and (y/n) could see the personalities of the two strongly already: Mick adopted the role of the carrying older brother despite being born only six minutes before, and Mazzy the clumsy, caring younger sister. The twins upheld their roles quite well, and because of their personalities, they rarely left each others' sides.
"Oh baby, I know she did but I just want some snuggies. Don't kill me, 'kay?" Harry said, pulling his arm so Mick would get the message to hug his father. Despite wanting to seem ever-so mature, loved nothing more than to hug the most important man of his life and finally succumbed to 'snuggies'.
"Mumma said to sleep for school, dada," Mazzy inquisitively said to Harry, looking up at him questioning.
"Yes baby, you two need to start sleeping more, you'll start preschool later this year, and mums' not sure if they do nappy time like in daycare." He rubbed both of their backs in unison as he saw them interlock hands on his stomach. These moments, he thinks, are the exact reason he does what he does. He wants nothing more than to support his babies (all four, actually) and be able to watch them grow. "Just wanted to give you guys some kissies. Kissies please?" He finished by puckering his lips as he looks down at the two.
They giggle and lean up to press soft kisses on his cheeks simultaneously.
"Now what's this about some friends, Mazzy?"
"Yes papa, so nice to me. Mick wants to hear if good friends."
Harry continued to rub their backs, so proud of their bond. "Good job Mick, always taking care of your sister. You know she'll always do the same for you too."
"I know dada, told me Aidan was rude to her. We not friends again." Mick stated, again making his father's chest filled with pride.
"Good, we all know we need to treat our friends nicely but if they are not kind back, we can't let ourselves be their friends. What do we do, babes?"
The kids smiled, playfully annoyed once again yet said together: "treat people with kindness." dragging it out as most kids do with very little seriousness.
"I've gotta go now, let's tuck you both in so momma will never know I was here, 'kay?" He lifted Mick in his arms and carried him the short distance to his bed, while Mazzy tucked her legs back in her blankie. Making sure Mick was cozy, he planted a wet kiss on his forehead.
"Dadaaa" Mick smiled, knowing his father's antics by now.
After placing another kiss on Mazzy's head, he placed a palm on both of the children's bellies. "I love you two so dearly. You guys, June, and your mum are the best things in my life. Rest up so we can have another fun day tomorrow babies."
He finally made his way out of their room, seeing the two burrowings further into their respective blankets with their eyes closed filling his heart. Sneaking his phone out, he snapped a quick picture and sent it to his wife so she could keep a copy of the moment. (although, through this, he effectively ruined the small secret of waking them.) Fuck it, he'll just say this is how he found them.
-----
"She wanted to talk about the Sage situation?" (y/n) guessed, as her beloved crossed the threshold and planted himself face-first on their king bed. All spread out, he moved his back to crack it, due to the stress of every day and ... well, age.
"Said she heard about my sexuality more than yours. Bet you're jealous huh?"
"Please, I know the bond you two have. Is she okay though? You gave her the good ole' 'we'll always be there' parent talk?" (y/n) never doubted his ability to be a father, but these circumstances were a bit more sensitive than other matters. She finally shut her book, placing it on the bedside table that holds Harry and her's current reads. There was no better end to her day than kissing her babies and reading alongside the love of her life.
"She's okay, I think. It's hard for her, obviously. I hate seeing her in pain but this is just one of those things she has to do. As long as she knows we're here, I don't expect it to be too difficult?" He pondered. He did mean it, being a questioning teenager is difficult as is but adding sexuality to the equation? He was fortunate enough to be so self-assured that the concept of questioning himself wasn't that turbulent. "But she wants to hear from you too, obviously. Be prepared to share your life story babe," he giggled, turning his head to see his wife who now began to stroke his hair. God, that really did it when he was tired.
"Yeah, I think I recall her saying this week was slow since she finished exams, so would you agree that we could take a girl's day in light of it all?" She pondered, wanting to assure her daughter in the best, normal way possible.
Harry finally sat up, only to cuddle into his wife's arms. This was another reason he knew the two were soulmates: she loved being the big spoon as much as he liked being held in her arms. "Yes, definitely a good idea. Mhm, what'd I do to have someone as mindful and loving as you? M'life would be incomplete without you, you're everything to me, love." Still feeling as 'lovey-dovey' as ever, he burrowed his head further into her, almost physically absorbing the love she poured out.
"I just want her to feel normal, I guess. When I finally came out, it seemed like it was the only interesting thing about me. It was the only point of conversation for a while, and I don't want June to feel like it's such a hugely different thing. She's still our baby, always will be."
"Hmm, the parenting books have nothing on us. So happy we're a team," he says, grabbing one of her hands to intertwine their fingers. "Gives me a love boner just thinking about how good we are, God."
"Narcissistic asshole. Want a bedtime handie?"
Her words make him shudder, a moan itching to be released. "M'done for with you."
She smiles at his words, knowing that the man in her arms is unlike the general population in that he prefers her hand far over her mouth. Shifting a bit, she kept one arm around his shoulders, to keep him close, and inched the other one to his briefs. They were firm believers in comfortable sleeping, which often lead to sleeping in only undergarments or less. She began to touch him softly through the fabric, already feeling how hard he was. "Oh baby, what's got you all worked up already?" It was a taunting tone, something about their position made it common sense that he'd be more submissive tonight.
"Please, (y/n). Just a quick hand, please." He shifted his hips, trying to get her soft hand to come down harder. Lucky for him, she wasn't in a mood to see him suffer and pressed the heel of her hand more firmly. "You know exactly what that does to me. Please baby, I'll be quiet."
"I know you will, you deserve this, 'kay?" She finally ended the small foreplay and moved her fingers into his briefs. Having been with her for over 15 years, (y/n) knew exactly what got Harry off the quickest. Nothing sold him out faster than a quick, sloppy hand, and her coaxing and appraisal always made him finish embarrassingly fast. Wrapping her hand around his length, she immediately began to jerk him off, wiping his precome to make it smoother. "Such a good daddy to our babies, best father out there I swear."
Her words made him shudder, even more, her touch making him extremely sensitive. Given her arm wrapped around him, he moved his head to the crevice of her neck, feeling shy from her praise. "(y/n), you're going to-" he was interrupted by her thumbing his head again, letting out a breathy moan, "god, make me cum so quick, please."
"It's okay baby, come on now, give it to me." She smirked as she felt him press soft kisses to her neck, almost as a thank you for the fucking phenomenal handie he was receiving.
His breath increased, indicating he was nearing his peak. He began to whimper ever so slightly, wriggling in place and only pushing himself closer to her. "Cumming, god m'cumming." he moaned, finally releasing over her hand.
(y/n) didn't end there though, still dragging her hand to rub his cum down his length and creating a click-ing sound. It was left unsaid that he loved to be overstimulated and milked.
Finally pulling her hand out after Harry begged her it was enough, she got up to grab a hand towel from their en suite restroom. Coming back, she found him with his eyes shut, clearly ready for sleeping.
"Budge up, or this'll get all gross in the morning."
Moving sluggishly, he allowed her to clean. "Come on now, let me do the same to you," he slurred as he flipped on his side, patting the bed.
"No baby, that's alright. Just wanna sleep with 'ya." She smiled at him fondly, noticing his eyes once again shutting in content. The two were almost annoying cuddlers, and they were practically seared together when it came to sleeping.
"Alright, in my arms 'ya go now. Come." He said faintly as she crawled into the space he made for her. Immediately squishing her face in his chest, he wrapped both arms around her back, caging her in and digging his fingers in her loose hair. "Love you," he whispered, although given his face was over her head, it was pretty muffled.
"Love you."
------------------
"Let's do three more deep breaths, and then we can go see what your mum made for breakfast," Harry indicated, eyes still shut as he sat cross-legged by Mazzy and Mick on the floor, June also sitting on one of the twins' bed.
Before the two parents gave birth to June, Harry insisted that it would be vital to teach their children meditation: a practice that would help them understand and work through their emotions. (y/n) agreed quickly, after hearing many testimonials online of increased mindfulness in small toddlers. Harry tried more often than not to do what he called "Good Morning Heart" exercises before school, but if he was out (y/n) had no problem doing it alone. Today though, the two woke up slightly later than usual and had to split up their duties.
"Okay, good. Keep your eyes closed for now, my bugs. I want you to think about one thing you hope to achieve today. Talk to a new kid maybe, or participate in class. Anything, and take another deep breath as you think of it."
"Dada, done now," Mazzy said, smiling wide at her father. Obviously having meditated her whole life (although they didn't consider it meditation, more so family time) she was used to these exercises and her father leading the group. She didn't know exactly why they did it, but being able to frame your day as positive before it even starts did boost her already positive demeanor.
"Good job baby, so proud of you. Why don't you go run down to see your mama? Not on the stairs though."
"I take her, dada!" Mick excitedly said, unknowingly to others, his positive goal for the day was protecting his 'baby' sister.
Harry smiled, dimples shinning as he saw the two siblings scurry down the hall. "Finished bug?" He asked as June and he were the only two left in the twins' room.
"Yeah, going to ask mom about everything."
"She's ready, and she's so fucking proud of you."
"Thank you, Dad, for everything. I mean it." June leaned over to give him a hug, making her cheek squish against his shoulder. He moved his head over to give her a kiss over her hair, closing his eyes for a second, basking in the life full of love he manifested.
"You didn't hear it from me, but I have an insider report your mum made chocolate pancakes."
-----------
"Come here for your kisses, don't try to weasel out of it," (y/n) laughed, putting her arm over the center console to pucker her lips. Mick was first, giving his mom a kiss on the cheek, dimples resembling his father's. Mazzy followed with obtaining their daily kiss before daycare, both stumbling their way out of the car to meet a teacher that helped them inside. "God they're so precious, as are you," (y/n) said, as she softly pinches June's cheek.
"Mooom," June dragged, now in the 'always embarrassed by parents' teenager phase. "Could we talk about Yesterday? You know, with whatever Dad said?”
“Yes! Actually, before we start would it be cool if we play hooky?” There wasn’t a ‘cooler’ parent between the two as they usually were very lenient, but this definitely bought (y/n) some cool parent points.
“What?! Are you sure? Is Dad okay with it?”
“Of course, he encouraged it really. Just a girl's day for us, can go shopping and eat lunch? Whad’ya think babe?”
“Freak it.” Or for translation, June’s way of saying fuck it.
—————
“Can you maybe … tell me how it worked for you? How you … decided?” June said nervously, still nervous about the topic.
“Yeah, of course, baby. It’s a much longer story than your fathers, but I’ll try to condense it:
“At your age, it’s such a period of confusion, and a lot of times your family can agitate that. From seventh grade to about my senior year of high school, I had what I now call my ‘identity crisis. Really, it was rooted in sexual confusion and overall expression but at the time, it was the most dramatic thing happening since the death of mom.”
The two were sitting in the car, having stopped by a local cafe for coffee before sitting in the mall parking lot. It was an odd place, but comfortable given the two were together. (y/n) and Harry prided themselves off of being an open family and sharing details of their past, but this wasn’t something June had heard of in such detail yet. Because of this, she was extremely absorbed in what her mother was saying.
“It’s really funny to me now, because that’s how I deal with things, I guess. But at the moment, I was-“ (y/n) turned her head to look out the window of the car, needing a small moment before recalling the most difficult time of her life. “It’s ridiculous because I know I should say losing mom was painful, but this whole sexuality thing tore me apart in a different way. It was silent, and it was internal. There was no one I could tell, not until my junior year.
“Anyway, going back to the plotline, yes. I did have a close friend I liked. She is mainly the reason I began to question, that and being a little too obsessed with Stevie Nicks. Sidebar: that was one thing that your father and I initially bonded on.” (y/n) finally lifted her head to see her daughter who stared at her with much adoration. Although she was a mother, this specific conversation still made her extremely insecure due to years of denial from family. She could only hope to raise her kids in a contrasting environment. “It was really hard, and I did become depressed and, well, suicidal frankly. Coming from a background like mine, there isn’t a ‘good’ view on anyone who is gay and that combined with my father's overall conserved nature, I was terrified. Then there was the back-and-forth: am I gay? Am I straight? Am I faking it? Does it matter? And the answer, to the last one at least, is yes it does fucking matter.”
“It made you that sad? Trying to figure it out? Dad says I’ll always be the same girl, why was it such a big deal for grandpa?”
“It was hard on me that I didn’t have someone noticing this pain I was going through. I, unfortunately, did not have someone to tell me that it was okay, and it was normal. God, I felt like such a deviant,” (y/n) laughed in an attempt at raising the mood. “When I finally got around to telling your grandpa, he said that mom mentioned it to him once, before she passed. He claims that she said I was going to be different, and he would have to understand that. Mothers always know. And he did, at least, he tried. It was hard to go from always saying future husband to future partner but he got the hang of it. You’re never too old to change your views and grandpa is the best example of that. He’s also very proud of his son-in-law for being so open about everything including sexuality, says that makes our relationship stronger and is the biggest reason he permitted your Dad to propose.”
"I don't even know what to say, that's kind of insane mom."
(y/n) laughed. The pain of her past has subsided over the years, and it was relieving to be able to recount it. "So insane. What else can I say about this? Two aunts were really rude about it and dad got so angry. It made me cry seeing him fight for me. After that, things just all worked out. It's still a hard topic, it took me forever to tell your dad. I thought he was going to be grossed out," (y/n) laughed again out of remembrance, cheeks warming from embarrassment.
"Mom! How could he, I'm sure he was the same as when you two met but dad would beat himself if he ever hurt you. And, that's really nice to hear about grandpa." June was amused over the change of topic and touched her mom was letting this information out.
"No, no. He's always been so attentive and needy," (y/n) giggled, June joining. "You should ask him about it, he's such a sap but that story especially gets a few tears out of him."
"Oh, definitely will do."
-------------
After the two had strolled around the mall a bit and found a few new pieces of clothing (what could (y/n) say, she had the tiniest shopping addiction) June opened up the conversation once more.
"So, how long does it take to know know."
"Oh babe, there's no number I can give you that works for everyone. You can't really but a timeline on these things. I will say there are stages, like definitely a questioning period, but you might not spend time experimenting with labels or you will. It's really hard to say. Personally, it was like six-ish years for me?"
They continued to roam the store, June now looking at jeans with embroidered details. "Hm." She looked deep in thought, but not nearly as conflicted as Harry described her to be the night prior. "I'm thinking about it mom, and I might be sure about it."
As (y/n) moved June into her arms into a Styles' classic bear hug, she hummed in joy. "I am so happy to hear that baby. We are so proud of you, and you're still our same baby but you're developing your identity and we're just so proud to be your parents. Please, babe, don't worry about this, we're here always to defend you through anything. Although, half of our friends and family are gay or something too." (y/n) gave her a smirk, both chuckling at the situation. "Now, if we're done here maybe we can stop by your dad's fav strawberry dealer, he sent me a message he was craving some."
June followed her mom out of the store after deciding to buy the jeans, body warming at the thought of having what she considered to be the best parents in the world.

Facebook's alternative facts
Facebook acquired a company called Crowdtangle in 2016; it makes a social media analytics tool that the press has used to monitor subject-matter trends on Facebook, especially in the runup to the 2020 elections.
Facebook just gutted Crowtangle.
https://www.nytimes.com/2021/07/14/technology/facebook-data.html
Crowdtangle had operated as a semiautonomous unit within Facebook, primarily used by media companies to track the social media performance of their stories. A turning point came when the NY Times’s Kevin Roose figured out how to rank posts that included links to the real web.
Roose created a Twitter account called @FacebooksTop10 that served as a moment-to-moment leaderboard for the most popular web-links being “engaged with” on Facebook (Facebook separates “engagement” — liking and replying — from “reach” — how many people see a post).
Roose’s research revealed that far-right cranks like Ben Shapiro and Sean Hannity were dominating Facebook’s news ecosystem. These reports were most unwelcome within Facebook leadership, whose internal communications were leaked to Roose.
These leaks reveal the anxieties of top Facebook leaders — including Nick Clegg, the former UK Deputy PM who sold out his supporters, created the conditions for Brexit, and then landed a cushy, 4-million-per-year job as head of FB’s “global affairs.”
These leaders worried that objective data about Facebook users’ “engagement” would validate suspicions that the service was a far-right echo-chamber whose US users were trending to ageing conservatives, a group that advertisers are lukewarm on.
Facebook’s leaders debated what to do about this and ultimately decided to neuter Crowdtangle, replacing it with selective disclosures that put the service in a better light, choosing among several other metrics (like reach) to characterize the discourse on the platform.
Publicly, Facebook says it’s not killing Crowdtangle, but rather, integrating it into an “integrity team” — minus its leadership (on “vacation” with no defined role at the company) and key personnel (who are being scattered to other parts of the business).
Facebook’s attack on Crowdtangle is significant, especially in light of its sustained assault on independent accountability and transparency tools like Ad Observer, a project from NYU’s engineering school.
https://pluralistic.net/2020/11/20/sovkitsch/#adobserver
Ad Observer tracks paid political disinformation on the platform. Its users volunteer to install a free/open browser extension that captures the ads Facebook serves to them. These are flensed of any private information and uploaded to Ad Observatory, a public repository.
Accountability journalists and researchers use Ad Observatory to track whether Facebook is living up to its public promises to limit paid political disinformation. The project has documented many failures to uphold those promises.
In its smear campaign against Ad Observer, Facebook has insisted that the project is both dangerous (Facebook falsely claims it captures private information) and redundant, because Facebook maintains its own ad repository for researchers.
But Ad Observer has already caught multiple instances of paid political disinformation that was not included in Facebook’s repository.
Facebook has proven that it cannot be trusted to honestly reflect its own practices in its transparency efforts.
As Crowdtangle enters a decline — leadership sidelined, engineers scattered — we should interpret Facebook’s promises to replace it with its own “accountability” tools, run by the leadership faction that decried Roose’s top-10 list, in light of the Ad Observer fiasco.
After all, these leaders insisted that the problem with Roose’s list is that it measured “engagement” and not “reach” — but when the company produced its own internal “reach”-based leaderboards, they looked much the same as the “engagement” ones.
Roose agrees with FB leaders in that Facebook isn’t merely a far-right echo chamber (he says that it contains such a chamber, but that’s not the whole story). But there’s one way in which FB is firmly Trumpian: its insistence on “alternative facts.”
Trump is a bullshitter, raised in the “positive thinking” church of Norman Vincent Peale, whose gospel dictated that you could manifest new realities by insisting that they were already here — “fake it till you make it” (AKA “gaslighting”).
https://www.npr.org/2017/01/19/510628862/how-positive-thinking-helped-propel-trump-to-the-presidency
This ideology — call it gaslightism — is the fantasy that powerful people can warp reality simply by declaring it to be something else (think of the GWB official who sneered at the “reality-based community” and its skepticism over war in Iraq).
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reality-based_community
It’s a common trait among wealthy narcissists. Elon Musk insists that the laws of physics will bend to his satellite internet network and allow for multiple universes’ worth of electromagnetic signalling.
He’s sure that the laws of geometry will bend to his tunnels and somehow relieve traffic congestion by adding private vehicles; that he will make massive leaps in computer science and create safe autonomous vehicles.
Trump’s insistence the virus would “disappear…like a miracle” was just the latest installment in a long history of bullshitting (“positive thinking”), including things like pretending to be his own publicist, boasting to journos about his prowess.
https://www.dailywire.com/news/audio-listen-donald-trump-pretend-be-his-own-hank-berrien
Facebook’s desire to “control the narrative” is part of this intellectual tradition, and it’s hardly the first time the company has done it.
Early in the company’s history, Zuckerberg defended his “real names” policy by saying that anyone who objected was “two-faced.”
It’s hard to overstate how deranged this is: surely Zuckerberg presents a different facet of his identity to his spouse, his kids, his shareholders, his co-workers and the press. It’s not “two faced” to talk to your boss differently from how you talk to your lover.
However, by forcing billions of Facebook users to confine themselves to a single identity, Zuckerberg does make it easier to target them with ads. This “two-faced” business is just an attempt to will a radical, sociopathic norm into existence.
This attitude permeates Facebook’s corporate conduct: remember the “pivot to video?” Facebook wanted to compete with Youtube — the number two supplier of display advertising, after FB itself — so it declared that videos were very popular on Facebook.
Not that videos would be popular — they were already popular. The company told its media and ad partners that they were missing out on a gold-rush because FB users loved watching FB videos.
Media companies literally laid off their newsrooms in order to hire video production teams based on this intelligence. The entire media- and ad-ecosystem reoriented itself around Facebook’s market intelligence.
There was just one problem. Facebook was lying. FB users weren’t watching its videos, and Facebook knew it. The company was just betting that if it convinced media companies to spend billions making videos, its users would watch them.
https://www.wired.com/story/facebook-lawsuit-pivot-to-video-mistake/
This fraud devastated the media world, first by triggering waves of layoffs of experienced journalists to make way for young video producers, then by killing or hobbling their employers and triggering another wave of mass layoffs.
Zuckerberg knows it’s not “two-faced” to show different parts of yourself to different people. Facebook knew that no one was watching FB videos. They were just betting that they could fake it until they made it — the core tenet of gaslightism.
The Crowdtangle affair is more of the same. Facebook’s US market is dominated by furious, old conservatives. The company knows it — but they also know that if they admit it, people who don’t match that description will be less likely to stay on its platform.
They know that advertisers don’t pay much to reach that audience. They know that an aging user-base will dwindle over time unless there’s a cohort coming in behind it. They think that if they suppress the true nature of their business, the nature will change.
Gaslightism is what Exxon embraced half a century ago, when it suppressed its own scientists’ conclusions that its product would render our planet unfit for human habitation. They were betting that if they just kept the news quiet, something might come up that changed it. #ExxonKnew
The wealthy and powerful have always practiced gaslightism (hence folktales like “The Emperor’s New Clothes”).
To be clear, we’re all prone to kidding ourselves with wishful thinking, but wishful thinking is different when it’s combined with unchecked power.
That’s why Thomas Jefferson argued for an anti-monopoly clause in the Bill of Rights — not because he disbelieved in smart people with good ideas, but because he disbelieved in infallible people.
Mark Zuckerberg is not an evil supergenius. He’s not a supergenius, or any kind of genius. He’s just an everyday mediocrity like you or me, someone who talked himself into thinking that he should be the czar of 3 billion lives.
https://locusmag.com/2018/07/cory-doctorow-zucks-empire-of-oily-rags/
The problem of concentrated, unaccountable, autocratic power isn’t evil supergeniuses. The problem is people no better or worse than you or me, indulging their worst impulses with no one to call bullshit on them.
Nerfing Crowdtangle and attacking Ad Obverser are just ways for Facebook to preventing journalists from calling bullshit on it — a way to further secede from the reality-based community. It’s pure gaslightism.

#when i read about tim i often kind of come to the idea that he's relatively self centered#and that can be both a flaw and a strength#but he doesn't often consider other people's feelings and circumstances#like when dick made damian robin he didn't really consider the situation from anyone else's view#or in his origin story#he doesn't seem to consider how dick would feel about hearing how tim was affected by dick's parents' death#or with the spyral situation#or in regards to him earning robin#and its pretty consistent in fandom characterization even if a lot of writers don't seem to be aware of it#its interesting cause i think its something i think he has in common with bruce#its honestly a surprisingly consistent thing from what i see#and it can be a strength to#it can absolutely lead to some confidence and self actualization#as well as being able commit to fixing something and working hard at it#because you believe you can and don't think anyone else can/will do it via @emenerd
Y’know, what’s interesting to me about these points is the fact that like.....Tim having tendencies towards self-centeredness is actually something that COMPLETELY makes sense and can be quite sympathetic in light of his backstory of having neglectful parents.
In an age of armchair diagnosticians eager to label anyone who expresses a controversial viewpoint while centering themselves as an example, as like, having a narcissistic personality disorder (and with the loaded implication that this makes them a bad person even if its true, instead of just....having a disorder, yay weaponizable ableism) like, it can be important to add in distinctions that even tendencies that share overlap with a lot of things born of entitlement, etc....aren’t always necessarily proof of that.
For instance, in Tim’s case, an overemphasis on himself and his own position in situations and arguments can very reasonably be attributed as a coping mechanism he developed in an attempt to acknowledge and address self-esteem issues he sees himself as having, DUE to parental neglect.
Its not that he thinks he’s the most important person in the room, necessarily, its that he spent so many years not even being considered a person in the room, that now he OVERCOMPENSATES on his own behalf, in an attempt to remind himself that no, his opinion and feelings and situations do matter.....and because he like most of the Bat-characters has a tendency towards hyper-fixating on a problem they’re trying to address, this can also understandably create a kind of tunnel vision. Where he’s so busy focusing on what he’s diagnosed as an actual issue he has that he’s trying to address or make up for, in order to build up his self-esteem....that he neglects to keep everyone around him equally centered in his interactions with them, and remember that like, they have their own issues and ignoring that to focus entirely on his own runs the risk of negatively impacting them in the exact same way he’s still learning to cope with having been negatively impacted in his development as a child.
None of this makes him a bad person, or is stuff that can’t be addressed and developed just by paying the appropriate attention to it and his interactions.
SO the issue I tend to more often have....
Is with how often in fandom and fanon we hear references to Tim’s neglect and emotional abuse and how this impacted him.....much in the same way we see Jason and Cass and Damian and Dick’s various forms of abuse and the developmental impact it had on them....
BUT there tends to then be a disconnect, IMO, because that acknowledgment of the WHAT of Tim’s neglect and abuse and the HOW it hurt him.....isn’t often followed up by an examination/awareness of how it also SHAPED him.....at least, not compared to how discussions/fics about say, Jason’s abuse tend to point out the latter as much as the former.
And this is a big part of my gripe with the ways abuse is centered and tackled as a topic in fics and fandom discussions, because its so often capitalized upon as a defense or shield for a character from criticism, stuff like that.....without ever actually EXPLORING the topic itself, or the FULLNESS of the impact it can have.
But only in regards to some characters.
What I mean is like....we see a lot of focus on Jason’s childhood abuse, yeah? And this often is then connected through headcanons, meta and fics to various aspects of Jason’s characterization as a teenager, and as an adult as well.....with a tendency towards anger or violence, abrasive personality, etc. Don’t get me wrong, its usually presented as such in a SYMPATHETIC light, especially when raised by fans of Jason themselves.....but his abuse is very much present and centered in fics and discussions as something that not only impacted him and made him suffer, but something that actually shaped him to varying degrees as well....with a lot of focus then in fics of him as an adult, like, paid to him going to therapy and unpacking his childhood abuse in an effort to WORK on these aspects of himself that make his present day life harder or less healthy than he’d like it to be. The issue of how his abuse lent itself to various behaviorisms is raised in order to address various byproducts of his abuse as FLAWS that he seeks to eliminate, in order to make himself happier and make himself someone that people want to be around more.
And again, don’t get me wrong - for the most part, this is a GOOD thing. The caveat here is just a personal dislike I have for how often these narratives smack of a kind of saviorism, and act like it was only through the grace of Bruce and becoming part of the Batfam that Jason’s ever afforded the opportunity to better himself as a person. I dislike the hell out of this because it not only pairs all too well with a lot of classist shit, it feeds into the singular narrative we’re so often presented with by media about abused kids: the myth of the victim being destined to become a victimizer, it all being an inevitable cycle. The reason this myth is so easily perpetuated is the exact reason I’m so critical of the saviorism in a lot of abused-Jason fics.....people can very easily fall into the trap of assuming that abused kids are likely to grow up to be abusers because they never have anyone to TEACH them that abuse is wrong, or to lead by healthy example.
The harm of this perception is that it kinda throws under the bus every kid who never lucks out and gets a Bruce Wayne style savior swooping in to not only save them from their abusive environs, but TEACH them that they deserved better and that abuse is wrong.
Because its like, uh, the thing is, plenty of abused kids who never get a personal mentor or savior figure are fully capable of figuring out for themselves that they deserve better and that people hurting them is wrong, because it makes them feel bad and they don’t like that?
Many abused kids don’t grow up in a media vacuum where they simply have no access to glimpses of lives different from their own.....we see kids having happier, healthier family lives on TV or in books and are able to figure out that society overall thinks that’s what family is SUPPOSED to look like, and its ours that is the aberration?
The very fact that we’re taught or have it instilled in us by abusive parents that like, we’re not to bring up instances or examples of our abuse to teachers or friends, that its a SECRET, is like, usually a dead giveaway that there’s something WRONG with it that we’re being instructed - and enforced with abusive consequences - to keep from alerting others to....like, this is basically a blaring siren to a lot of us that no, what’s happening to us ISN’T normal and acceptable, and that’s literally WHY the parent we’re afraid of is so insistent on us keeping the facts of it hidden?
And so like, tons of abused kids figure out for ourselves the difference between right or wrong, based off nothing more than our own feelings about things and a desire to not be like the people who make us feel miserable - like, never underestimate the power of spite to like, keep a kid from growing up doing the same thing to others that was done to them, lol.
But point being, lots of kids never get a Bruce Wayne figure to take them away from their abuse and also teach them that they never deserved it and how not to pass the hurt forward by doing the same things to others. And its kinda condescending as fuck that we so often see narratives that take it as so obvious it barely merits commenting on, that like, ‘of COURSE abused kids grow up to become abusers if they don’t have someone else step in and show them a better way’....mmm, no. Fuck that. But you get what I mean.
So like, its a mixed bag. Its a good thing, to see Jason-centric stories that show him addressing his childhood and seeking just a more fuller, happier, healthier life for himself. Its a less great thing to see this narrative presented as all encompassing, with it never being raised that no, Jason actually could figure out he deserved better and how to treat people in ways he’d want to be treated even without a billionaire guardian angel.....NOT because the narrative wherein someone helps an abused kid figure out what was wrong about how they were treated is like, NEVER valid....but rather it just becomes a problem when looked at as a data point against the larger tapestry of fandom-wide works....and noticing that this specific narrative is pretty much the ONLY one raised or treated as valid. With it just being ASSUMED to be the natural course of events and characters, rather than just....the direction society overall has their perceptions of abuse steered towards due to a singular and constantly reinforced abuse narrative shown to us in media.
And the way this all plays back into my point about Tim and what took me down this road in general.....
Is that disconnect I was talking about, lies specifically in HOW Tim is often acknowledged and regarded as an abuse survivor due to his emotional abuse and neglect......with this abuse and its impact on HIM often taking center stage, much the way Jason’s abuse and its impact takes center stage in his narratives.....
BUT with a key difference being that while a lot of Jason’s narratives go on to denote the specific ways his abuse helped SHAPE him and his interactions with others, and raise and address the ways in which he can better himself and his relationships by unpacking all of this openly....
Most of the stories about Tim’s abuse/neglect tend to just STOP at the awareness of its existence and impact on him. Never taking it that one step further to examine how those specific forms of abuse could have additionally SHAPED him....in ways that sometimes negatively impact those around him and his own loved ones, even if this is completely unintentional on his part. The difference, the disconnect, lies solely in how rarely its ever acknowledged that Tim’s own upbringing can and does play directly into how he interacts with people later on in life.....and in ways that he’s fully capable of addressing and bettering himself so as to be happier and healthier just in his own life, and in his relationships, as someone others want to be around.
Aaaaand once you actually examine or consider WHY there’s this discrepancy between the full ramifications of Tim’s abuse and that which various siblings of his underwent, when there’s full agreement that what he did go through absolutely can be termed abusive as well....like, its the implications of what about Tim makes him more naturally resistant or whatever to being shaped by his abuse in ways that have actual negative impact on others in his life, whereas the same isn’t true of say, Jason.....that’s when the red flags start to go up for me, and the unintended subtext starts to get Less Than Stellar, IMO.
Anyway. Just food for thought on the subject of Tim, his upbringing, the various impacts this had on not JUST him but also on how he interacts with others, and ways in which all of this compares and contrasts with how the subject of abuse is raised and depicted in regards to other Batkids.

LONG REVIEW
tw mental health
This review isn’t an f4 one (surprisingly. Yes, I do watch other dramas to fill the void that Thyme and Gorya leaves every weak) This time it’s for the web series User not Found.
I’m not sure if this is series is a popular one but the character intrigued me so fuck it.
User not found tales of two Yoo Min Jae’s. One who was an outsider all her life and another who was the popular girls that every could only dream to be. Upon transferring to a new school, the two girls switched identities and became good friends.
Another important relationship other than the two Min Jae’s is the relationship between the fl min jae and ml Shin Yi Joon. The two of them connect to one another in a personal level due to their similar personalities. They are both people pleasers. The two have a hard time saying no to people. They have this awkward cute af relationship where they are shy and have a hard time expressing their feelings.
Watching the two interact, it is very easy to get frustrated with them. It’s like you to yell at the screen and say “JUST FUCKING KISS ALREADY!” And to be honest, I was a bit frustrated my self. But as a fellow people pleaser myself, the reality is it os hard for us to interact with people to be honest. In fact, it is far worse than what is shown on the series.
I don’t want to get too deep into my history but I was raised by an narcissistic abuser. Something that I was only able to come to terms with only recently. People pleaser’s state of mind is one that is very hard to explain. We would priorities everyone and anything above our own priorities and boundaries, because abandonment is our biggest fear.
Saying yes to people is always at the tip of my tongue. There are so many people who knew I would say yes and use it to their advantage. Why is it so hard to say no? Out of fear of confrontation. Out of fear that we could potentially offend someone because even the thought of that is triggering.
We would go out of out way to be someone we’re not just to please a stranger because in our head, we want to be their friend. The countless of times I would text people with “I’m alright with anything,” even when I’m not is too much to count.
The only thing that could help us is finding people who knows our situation and won’t use you. My best friend (god bless her) would actually sit down next to me and give a disapproving look when i sent such text until i finally get used to voicing how i actually feel. Gradually (even though it takes a course of deleting and rewriting a text to finally get there) i get used to it. We need people who force the truth out of us to get better.
Back to the two main characters. When Shin Yi Joon had that problem with that girl who thought they were more than friends, I felt that. I’ve had guys ask me out and I don’t know how to tell them I’m not interested. Which is sick because we shouldn’t feel like we owe people ourselves.
I’ve had people telling me I was a player just because I ghost a lot of guys, but truly what happened was I panicked. Shin Yi Joon panicked and did not reply, because he probably thought that was better than hurting the girl. He let the girl slap him because it’s easier to let them look at him as the bad guy than confronting the girl.
That scene where he put in his airpods is so accurate. It is easier to just pretend that you’re deaf or fake idiocy then saying no. That’s the truth. Ghosting to most is a “fuckboy” thing but to him, it is the easiest way to set his boundary.
He probably knew rumours were going around. He didn’t say anything because he probably started believing it as well. You have to understand, it’s in our nature to blame others first because we can’t fathom the people we care as being anything but nice so we block that idea out and when it doesn’t make sense, we make sense of it by blaming us. It’s sick. Deep down he knew he wasn’t wrong but it’s easier to blame himself and think he’s the problem.
Where was his arc? When he met Yoo Min Jae. When he met her, he started being more vocal. Hw started saying no. Even his cousin pointed out that he changed. Why? Because he finally had someone he genuinely liked. That person’s feeling is now his number one priority. Losing that person is much scarier than losing anyone else, which his cousin probably figured out.
On to Yoo Min Jae. Yoo Min Jae is too kind for her own good. Her people pleaser tendency is much more obvious than Shin Yi Joon. Having friends, having that assurance that you are a great asset to the friend groupI can only imagine how great that feeling must, especially when you’ve never felt that your whole life.
Most people will see it like Min Jae 2.0, thinking she’s naive and foolish. But what people don’t understand is how euphoric the feeling of having validation is to her. It’s a great feeling. She would do anything everything to see a single laughter or any sign of approval for her friend. Shit, if they told her to roll on mud just to make them laugh, she probably would. That’s how she is.
That moment when she realised that SL Shin Hye Jun was anything but genuine to her, that alone is the biggest heartbreak and betrayal. Because she was always genuine. You can read her emotions on her face because she had always been honest with everything. When she said she thought of you as her friend, that was an understatement. She thought you are a die hard loyal af, I’ll die for you my best friends, type of friend because she was that- to him. But he’s treating her like he’s far less than that.
The worst part is, she won’t blame him. She would blame herself. She would think “Oh, it’s my fault. The problem is me, that’s why he had to fake it. I was being too hard on him.” If he apologised, in a snap of a finger, she would take him back. In her head she knew her popular friends, Hye Jun are toxic and unhealthy but the thought of losing them is worse than the pain she felt when she was being used. So she assured herself “I can handle it.”
That is the reality.
I’m writing this review because I thought this is something that needs to be talked about. This needs awareness. If you have a friends who is down for everything, who never says no, please talk to that person. They’re not “cool” or “chill”. They’re probably going through something that’s very hard to for them to open up about. If you feel that your friend is always going along with your decision, please sit down and say “no, I want to hear how you feel.” Or “No, I want to follow your choice.”
I’m not saying this to put the burden on you to fix your friend. Of course that person still needs professional help, but doing this could potentially save a person. The other day, I texted a friend “Let’s meet at 1.” To you, that’s probable easy and simple but to us, that’s is far put of the norm. Usually our texts would be “let’s meet anytime”
If you have these issues as well, feel free to talk below. The chat is always open however I’m not sure how good of an advice i could give because i’m pretty bad myself lol. Hopefully having a conversation could help more people.

A Peace of Me
When I was younger, I had this thought about the world. I believed people were as good as me. Giving, sympathetic, respectful, you know all the things you’re supposed to be as a child that was raised in church. Welp, considering I’m writing this entry should mean that through the years in better words life kicked my ASS (excuse my French). P.s. that’s currently something I’m working on, not cursing but we’ll get more into that later. Back to the big picture, so yea life wasn’t so kind from childhood traumas to family issues to abusive ex-fiancés to legal trouble and terrible coping habits. Now, not knowing what the fuck I am or who I want to be and quite frankly, that scares the living shit out of me.
Before I get into the main reason, I started this blog I should introduce myself. My name is Shyazia Dupree but call me Shy because everyone butchers my name and unlike others yes it does bother me. I’m a 22-year-old pursuing a dream of being a as I like to call it “Beauty Guru” spreading confidence, originality, and acceptance everywhere I go. As a kid, I was fortunate enough to have a parent who was very much involved in my education and made sure I received whatever I needed to succeed. Everything was good expect one thing: I was bullied. Now if you know me, you know as a child I wasn’t ugly, didn’t have poor hygiene, well kept up and I wasn’t for a lack of a better word, stupid so I never understood why they wanted to tease one of the nicest girls in the class. My mom always had her theory, but I never paid it no mind because I thought that would be vain to believe such a thing.
But now that I’m older and truly had a taste of the world and not just people but how ruthless FEMALES can be, I believe every word she said. There are females who may be more educated, have more money, prettier, just in some sort of way possess something more than you but that doesn’t mean to be envious. Remember, “Everything that glitters ain’t Gold.”, and materialistic things aren’t everything. As I spoke earlier in the paragraph, I was raised in a church, so I don’t believe objects make us, it’s the person who you are inside that matters. For instances, you can see a man who is so gorgeous. First thing out your mouth is “Oh, the things I’d do to him… that’s my Future Baby Daddy!” But deep down he has the ugliest soul you’ve seen disrespectful to his mama, you, a cheater, a liar, manipulator… just a downright narcissist. Ladies, we’ve all had our moments, vice versa for Men too.
That’s why I decided to put my best foot forward and truly devote myself to my beauty business. It’s been in the making for a long time, I just didn’t have the motivation and dedication I needed. It took basically hitting rock bottom to realize that I’m worth more and what I’ve learned though my journey of Self-Love needs to be shared with not only Woman of all ages, shapes, sizes, and colors (I don’t care if you’re green) but guys too. As adults, we ourselves and our youth need to know that what’s being showed now with these celebrities is not everything or who you have to be to be someone. Just be you! Being educated on self-esteem and what being bullied can do to one’s mental state is the main reason I started my business. No person deserves to feel unwanted or to be treated like their nothing because we’re all someone. We just need to find them. Some of us need a little guidance/help and that’s where I come in!

hello, friends.
lately, i have been having many feelings about the community. not just this one, but about the rpc in general. i have been keeping quiet about them, but when you keep quiet about something, eventually it becomes all too large to bear. some of you may disagree with me, and that is fine. some of you may even want to unfollow or block me, and that is fine too. i will not chase you down for merely disagreeing with me. but.
i am vastly disappointed in the state of the rpc as of late.
“but karla, why?” you may ask. “the rpc is fun, and i get to make all sorts of friends and write with so many different people!!”
and yes, you’re right! overall, the rpc is a very fun community to be in. it’s very fun to write your own portrayals of different muses, come up with your own ideas, meet other people who may or may not think and portray similarly to your own style.
however.
i think, as a whole, the rpc has become incredibly narcissistic.
why do i say this?
i have been roleplaying and writing here on tumblr since 2012. yes, i am old. but let’s push the fact that i am old compared to most of you aside for a moment.
i have seen quite a few people, in their rules, state something similar to the effect of “if you post too much ooc, i will unfollow and block you.”
if you have read my own rules, you will see that i do not have this rule.
now, everyone is valid in what they put in their rules, and everyone is valid for wanting to cater their own online experience to what they desire it to be. however. a problem that i have seen being developed in the past 3-4 years is that... nobody seems to care about other people. now, of course there are people who care about their writing partners/friends, i’m not saying that everyone is like that, but... the vast majority do not seem to want to hear anything about the mun behind the muses past a little bio page on the blog, and even for some, that might be too much.
when i started roleplaying, this rule overall didn’t really exist as a majority, and if it did, it was on very few blogs. but as i have gone through the years, i’ve seen it pop up on more and more blogs. and my question is... why? why does everyone seem to hate ooc posts now? are we not allowed to demonstrate that we have feelings, hobbies, interests, etc. past roleplay anymore? if someone is having a bad day or a bad mental state time, are they not allowed to confess to it on their blog, if for nothing else than to just get it out? now, some of you may say “yes, that’s bad, and tumblr rpc is no place for it. talk to someone instead of broadcasting it to the whole world.”
i disagree with that.
some of us do not have good support systems outside of tumblr, or really any support system at all. for some of us, coming onto our blogs for a little rant is the only way we can feasibly see to cope with our own bad times without doing something terrible to ourselves. and, honestly? it’s natural to want others to know when we are struggling. some call it “attention-seeking,” sure, but... yes. when you are feeling bad, naturally you want some sort of attention, if not to validate, then to distract for a little bit. the mind is an incredibly fickle creation, and sometimes, it is too big for us to deal with it on our own. and if someone doesn’t have many outlets to deal with it, they will naturally flock to the one that they know is safe, where they can let out their frustrations and depression without much backlash. but with rules like that in place, it becomes a bit more scary, a bit more threatening, even, to even entertain the idea that you are feeling anything but happy.
it is incredibly isolating, and even depressing, and it can even increase depression in those who do not currently have the proper mindset to see past their own demons that the mind has created. and the last thing i personally want is to consciously isolate someone because they’ve committed the “crime” of having a bad day/feeling terrible for some reason that may not even be related to the rpc.
it is natural to need/want to rant about things.
“but this is the rpc, karla. we are all here to write. not to read someone’s bitching on the dash about how they’re feeling so terrible.”
and, yes, we are all here to write. but i think that what the rpc in general has forgotten is that there are real people behind the portrayals and muses that we love so much. real people that have feelings, and sometimes those feelings aren’t the best ones. and i can personally speak from experience when i say that having a little rant and it seemingly being ignored only makes the feelings worse. and, like, i’m not even asking for anyone to send long essays to someone who is feeling bad. even a little like can make someone feel better, because it means that they’ve been seen, that they’ve been heard, that their being here isn’t a waste of time or a burden to other people.
adding onto my statement of “the rpc has become really narcissistic,” something i’ve also observed is that ongoing threads seem to be becoming a thing of the past. ask memes are reblogged 24/7, just about, and often times, i’ll see the same meme five times in a row. it seems that what the majority wants now are just asks that one can craft a brief answer to, post it, and then forget about it until the next one comes in. they can be great for headcanons and such, yes, but... i’ve found that, in my experience, the greatest character development comes from threads. and this just may be my frustration speaking, but threads seem to be long gone, unless they’re crack threads that last for a few hours before everyone gets bored with them. it seems to be all about who reblogs the most memes, who has the most asks in their inbox, that determines how popular somebody is. and i don’t understand that, but maybe i’m just too old and too stuck in the past to do so.
another thing i’d like to talk about is activity. some of us cannot be on tumblr 24/7. i’m not hating on the people that can, more power to you, but some of us have things like school, jobs, other real life commitments that should come before tumblr roleplay. and sometimes we just can’t be on our blogs because time has run away from us and has us devoted to other things. however, what i’ve noticed lately that if you happen to be away from your blog for a week or so, you’re just about instantly forgotten, and when you return, it’s like you never existed at all. this has been a problem i’ve seen for a long time, but i still don’t like it. why should our amount of time being active determine how good of a roleplayer we are? if others “love our portrayals so much,” then why are we forgotten as soon as we’re not constantly posting? in my eyes, if you genuinely enjoy someone’s writing, and they have to go away for some time, you’ll be excited when they’re finally able to come back, if even for only a little bit. and not just “oh, you’re gone, time to unfollow and never speak to you again.” this can also be incredibly isolating, and it creates undue pressure on those of us who just cannot be here 24/7. we feel like we have to fill our queues to stay relevant, and we panic when we don’t have anything to fill the queue with without re-reblogging something.
roleplay isn’t supposed to be stressful, guys. it’s supposed to be fun. it is a hobby. i feel like some of the rpc has forgotten this fact. no one is paying us to be here (unless you have post+ on your rp blog, in which case... why????). we’re here because we want to be, not because someone is forcing us, and we shouldn’t have to feel like we’re being held up to some invisible high standard just because some of us can’t be here all the time.
there is more that i want to talk about, but this post is long enough as it is, so i will leave it how it is right now.
if you have read this far, thank you for reading, and again, i understand if you want to change things with me because of this.

Thoughts on Cruella
Let me ask you a question:Have you noticed the increase in stories about making villains more relatable to us, and even giving them something that seemed to be lacking in all the fairytales we all know so well?
Something like humanity?
Here’s the thing: no one is truly born evil, and to quote a line from Once Upon A Time, “Evil isn’t born; it’s made.” Perhaps the baddies were actually good people who were capable of being happy, finding love, and living their best lives. But unfortunately, a chain of events or even people who wronged them would lead them down a dark path that is often very hard to come back from. In other words, the stories and characters we know isn’t always black and white. (See what I did there?) You can say whatever you want about making villains relatable or even showing sympathy to them, but I stand by my humble opinion that the updated version of the fairytales and stories we grew up not only gives us a glimpse into the heroes and making them more like us, but also the villains because their more than just the 2D stock characters we grew up with over the years. In other words, it gives everyone more DEPTH. The same is true for Cruella. I realize many of you are starting to (if you aren’t already) get tired of films making the villains more relatable or even giving us a villain to show sympathy for. And I get that. But let me ask you this: is the world we see today always black and white to you? Should it always has to be good vs. evil when there are layers underneath the goodness and the evil that’s in this world? Should we automatically assume that all of the bad things that happen on the news are caused by bad people? I think you know the answer to this: no. We’re all capable of being good people, no matter what society tells us. But the fact that we’re all born to be originals and not copies of another individual but being told that we have to be “perfect” or “thin” or “beautiful” or “handsome” or any of those labels is what draws people to the dark side, and that includes giving into power, greed, malice, and hatred. And here’s something else to think about - we’re always told by those around us, whether that’s our loved ones or complete strangers, to hide what makes us unique or even brilliant because it may not sit well with everyone. That’s another reason why some people go towards the dark side. And on another level, they use what makes them unique to stand out in not-so pleasant ways, instilling fear into others by what they say and do. Both cases aren’t right, not by a long shot. Now do you see why not everything is black and white? It’s hard to take the animated films we grew up and breathe new life into them while keeping these thoughts in mind. Especially if we were taught at an early age who’s good and who’s evil, and that the baddies aren’t deserving of our sympathy or even redemption. I don’t know who exactly started this tradition of taking the fairytales, animated classics, and other stories we all grew up with and add more dimension and humanity to each of the characters, including the villains. But I’m glad they did. It gives us something to think about and makes us see that we have a little bit of evil inside of us. I may be in the minority when I say this, but movies and shows like Once Upon A Time, Maleficent, Ever After High, Descendants, and Cruella fascinate me because it allows me the chance to see how capable the villains are to being good people and their external and internal struggles to keep the goodness in their lives while navigating through all of the bad things and people that come into their lives which sets a course towards their villainous nature.
At least take into consideration the hard work the authors, screenwriters, and creators put into formulating the question “what if...” and how much fun they have breathing new life into these characters we grew up with and how much of ourselves we can see in the villains, no matter how much we try to deny it. There, I said it. I may once again be in the minority when I say this (it seems to be a theme lately on Tumbr, which is quite sad), but I enjoyed Cruella immensely. The acting, the costume designs, the hair and makeup, the songs... It was just bloody brilliant. Both Emmas - Emma Stone and Emma Thompson - played their parts extremely well. Ms. Stone navigating through her internal battle to be a good person while facing a conflict with the bad side was a wonderful site to see. And Ms. Thompson, I mean, come on. She’s just fantastic all the way around. To play a narcissist isn’t easy, but she makes it look so simple and enjoyable. I commend both of their performances in this film. And let’s not forget the rest of the cast - Joel Fry, Paul Walter Hauser, Emily Beechan, Kirby Howell-Baptiste, Mark Strong, Kayvan Novak, Jamie Demetriou, Andrew Leung, and John McCrea - such an outstanding ensemble! In the theatre, you know a show is fantastic because of its ensemble. The same applies in the movies as well. They may not get recognized as much as Emma Stone or Emma Thompson, but it was such a joy seeing these talented performers play their parts well, and the depth they played at was a joy to watch. Let’s talk about the costumes, hair, and makeup. This film better get awards for all of those areas (or at least nominations) because the designs and styles were truly epic. It’s hard to get the fashion of the times right without extensive research and a little bit of creativity and imagination thrown in for good measure. But Jenny Beavan and Nadia Stacey deserve all of the praise and accolades for rocking out the 1970s with boldness and some pretty wicked designs. I’ve noticed skimming on here the discontent many of you have for portraying Cruella as being a villain we should have sympathy for, especially since she wanted to skin Dalmatians for a coat. That alone should be cause for her to not be worth an ounce of sympathy, and I understand that. As an animal lover myself, I’m inclined to agree with you. But I’m going to let you in on one spoiler that I ask you take into consideration: no Dalmatian dogs were killed or skinned in this movie. I repeat: no Dalmatian dogs were killed or skinned in this movie. And here’s something else I want you to be on the lookout for should you decide to watch this film. During the end credits, there is a special message out there for those of you who are thinking about owning a dog: “Every dog deserves a loving home. If you’re ready for the commitment of pet ownership, please consider visiting your local animal rescue to find the right pet for you.” That message alone speaks as to how far we’ve come in society, and here’s why. Whenever we see movies or TV shows that feature dogs and cats, particularly puppies and kittens, we tend to rush out right away and getting them because they’re so adorable. But when they grow up, we tend to let them go and leave them in some unpleasant places. And organizations like PETA beseeched the film and the company to take a stand and use their voice to encourage adoption of pets in shelters and rescue centers and not pet stores. Apparently, the film and the company listened because they put this message during the end credits. Well done. I may not be able to convince you to go see this movie or give it another chance if you already saw it, nor should I try. But I do want you to take into consideration the amount of updated versions of the stories we all know and love, and how much the authors, screenwriters, and other creative types are bringing in humanity and depth to these characters. We’re not 2D characters like the heroes, heroines, and villains are often seen as in the original stories, so why should they be treated and seen as such for generations to come? We’re more complex and layered than seen in fairytales and animated movies. Also, I don’t think these stories where the authors give villains a chance to experience goodness before they became bad or even blurring the lines between good and evil are going away. It allows us as human beings to see and try understand that we’re all capable of being good, but it’s the events and people who come into our lives that shake things up and even brings questions of whether we’re truly good or evil that sets us down a path we alone can walk. And more importantly, it gives us as the audience a chance to see a little bit of ourselves in these characters, even if you don’t relate to the villains at all. I suggest you stop griping about the rise in updated versions of the films, TV series, and book series of the original classics and accept that they are here to stay. I’m not saying you should read or watch them if they’re not your cup of tea, but at least try to understand that things were NEVER always black and white, especially where fairytales, animated films, and even more stories are concerned. At least try to understand that part, okay? Is that too much to ask? I’m not here to change your mind. I realize I can’t do that. So many of you are so set in your ways and opinions, and all I can do is pray for you. But I am here to share with you my thoughts on Cruella and how the updated versions of these stories are here to stay, whether you like it or not. And I’m also here to try to help you see that these stories allow us to see a little bit of ourselves in these characters we grew up with, even if it’s through a new set of eyes. You are welcome to disagree with me, or even not say anything at all. But all I ask is that you be respectful of my opinions and what I have to say. I will not tolerate any hate speech or disrespectful language. You do that, and I will block you. If you can’t say something nice, don’t say anything. It’s that simple, and yet it’s so hard, especially on Tumblr. I hope I didn’t take up too much of your time.

Ok imma be sending this to a few people that i follow but anyway. So i read this article about how we fall in love with only 3 people in our lifetime, all for specific reasons. (Article link)
TW: mentions of potential abuse (physical, verbal, emotional) so it this triggers you please just ignore or delete my ask.
So my question is, which character for the fandom you like the most/feel most comfortable in would be which love. Who would be your first, second and third love from the frictional characters you like
Now bear with me cuz imma shortly explain the types of love.
• The 1sr love is the love that feels right or as i like to call it puppy love. This one happenes when we're young, like in highschool, seems like the fairytales and fanfics we read. Usually we enter the relationships believing that it's our only love, leading us to supress our feelings, trying to make it look like the perfect relationship, because in this type of love, it's more important to us how others view us than our actual feelings. Personally i think this one edns because of a kinor disagreement or something petty.
• The 2nd love is The hard love. This love teacges us lesons about what we need, how often and how much we need/want love and affection, weather it's through lies, manipulation or pain. This love can be unhealthy, unbalanced and even narcissistic, filled with emotional, verbal, physical and mental abuse and manipulation. Its a love that we stick around for because of the extreme Rollercoaster of emotions, live through the lows, expecting a high. Trying to make this love work becomes more important that if it actually should continue. After this one ends, we end up focusing on ourselves, healing and becoming better versions of ourselves.
• The 3rd love, the one that lasts. It's the love we never see coming, the one that comes so easily it doesnt seem real, the oje where the connection between the two just can't be explained. In this love, unlike the previous, we are together without any expectationons on how each person should be acting and thinking, we just accept who we are. It isn't what we envisioned our love to look like, nor does it follow rules that we have set up, bur rather it shows us that love doesn't have to be how we though for it to be true. It's a love that waits for us, no mater how long it takes.
Hope you have a good day/night, eat something and drink some water, love youu <3
hii this was really interesting hehe
but ig for the first love i'd say akaashi, theres something abt him that just screams puppy love, we'd be together cause it looked good yk i feel like deep down we were just young kids inlove also def something that wouldnt last cause it wouldnt let us grow yk,, second love would definitely be atsumu no doubt i know he's the type of man who has a sharp tongue and says a lot of things he doesnt mean and i'm a very sensitive person esp to people i care abt, like things would be good one minute but sometimes things would get out of control and mean things would be said by both parties, i feel like over all he would be a good lover but just not one that would last,, the third love would definitely be suna or sachiro, im not really being biased here but i genuinely think that me and suna would be good together cause i know hes someone that would understand me the best because of how well he knows me and just the fact that (in my head) we grew up together so we know each other the best and one day it just happens and we both realise we're inlove with each other (i'd def be the first one to fall inlove HAHAH), also mine and suna's personalities just match cause he's more of a listener than a talker and i like to talk a lot esp with people with im very comfortable with and that would make me love him even more yk because i know i have someone to talk to abt anything without being judged,, but with sachiro things would just be natural and i feel like we'd both be drawn to each other because of our personalities and i feel like he'd also know me really well and i'd be there for him when he needs someone to count on, it also would take awhile for us to fall inlove because we'd be unsure of our feelings mostly me cause sachiro is a nice guy and i would just think that he's being nice to me and treats me well cause he's THAT type of guy but he's def different with me than with other people

Meet me inside
Inspired by an ask sent to @lenoreofraven
Meet me inside
“It’s not like any of you were good, unlike moi,” Bragged Chloe, making Marinette’s temper rise, “Lame-bug just couldn’t have more that two pathetic heroes on her team.”
“And yet, they still kicked your ass.” Said Kim, leaning back in his chair, “Besides, I’d rather be removed from the roster than help Hawkmoth.”
“Chloe, literally all the times you were called up,” Started Lila, making Marinette panic over who to root for, “the villain’s kept getting away.”
Marinette, reluctantly, rooted for Lila.
“Guy, we gathered to discuss the event schedule.” Said Alya, getting a sigh from Marinette.
“Well, as Queen Bee-” Marinette’s mouth acted without her permission, “Chloe, you’re not Queen Bee any more, and judging by what’s in the paper, your dad’s not going to be mayor for much longer.”
“Like I need to listen to you, Dupain.” Sneered Chloe, making Marinette see red.
“Alright, that’s it,” Snapped Marinette, jumping to her feet, “I’ve tried to be the bigger person, convincing myself that you’re only acting out because your parents don’t bother remember your birthday or your name, hell, I’ve even tried feeling sorry for you, simply, simply, for the fact your mother can’t seem to stand your presence. But that doesn’t excuse any of the racist, homophobic, pathetic jabs that you keep making to everyone, do you honestly know why we threw you that party? Because we all thought ‘hey, Chloe’s trying to turn over a new leaf, change her ways’, but nope, you kept verbally harassing everyone within visual or even, auditory range of you, because of your self-centred, narcissistic belief that you’re better than everyone around you. Chloe, if we could, we would put you on a plane to New York ourselves, because we’re sick, tired and just generally fed up with seeing, no scratch that, hearing about you. One of my biggest, biggest, hopes is that as soon as your dad’s out of office, you get dragged through the courts, for every. Little. Pathetic. Thing you did and see how long it is before you’re given a severe reality check.”
Marinette’s chest was heaving when she finished, unaware of the crowd that had gathered. Adrien and Kagami watched as Marinette slowly calmed down.
“As if I’d listen to a mongrel chink.” Sneered Chloe, making Marinette see red again.
With a scream, Marinette swung her fist out, punching Chloe in the eye with enough force to send the blonde over the table she’d been standing in front of and into the wall. Chloe held her eye as she scrambled to her feet.
“You, you’ll be sorry for that!” Cried Chloe, scrambling away from Marinette, “My daddy will have you put away for it.”
“You mean the same, thumb-looking cunt that had to pay off my parents after you tried to fucking kill everyone on a fucking train?” Snarled Marinette, just as someone put their hand on her shoulder.
Without thinking, Marinette swung out, only to find herself on the floor with Ms. Bustier kneeling on her back.
“Marinette. Calm. Down.” Said Ms. Bustier, forcefully, “Chloe, go to the Principle’s Office. Now.”
Chloe looked ready to protest, but the cold glare coming from her teacher was enough to make her go with Ms. Menedeleieve. After Chloe was far enough away, that Ms. Bustier was certain Marinette wouldn’t be able to follow after her, Ms. Bustier stood up, before pulling Marinette to her feet.
“Come with me.” Said Ms. Bustier, her tone leaving no room for argument. Marinette hung her head and followed the teacher, both disappearing into a classroom.
“Do you think Chloe will be punished?” Whispered Alix, after the door closed.
“How far did Chloe skid after rolling over the table?” Asked Kim, looking at the small amount of blood from when Chloe hit her head.
“Five, maybe six feet.” Said Nino, mentally calculating the distance, “We’re all gonna say self-defence, right?”
“More or less.”
“Yeah.”
“Sure.”
Adrien frowned, before stepping forwards, “What did Marinette mean ‘pay off her parents’?”
Nino stiffened, “Oh, shit, you don’t know.”
“Know what?” Asked Adrien, looking around.
“Marinette and her parent were on that train Chloe almost crashed.” Said Alya, making Adrien blanch, “Marinette was pissed that Chloe just got a slap on the wrist, but the money did pay for the op, so it was kind of a win.”
“Op?” Asked Adrien, getting a wince from Nino.
“You know how Marinette wasn’t in class a few months back?” Asked Nino, getting a nod from Adrien, “She, er, found she had a condition that required surgery.”
“What was it?” Asked Adrien, making everyone avoid eye contact.
“It’s more Marinette’s place to say.” Said Nino, not moving on the matter, “You’ll have to ask her.”
Eventually, a staff member told everyone to go to class, something everyone did willingly, for once.
The class found Marinette scowling in her seat and glaring at the tabletop, as she attacked it with a pair of scissors.
“Girl, what happened?” Asked Alya, as she sat down.
“I don’t want to talk about it.” Said Marinette, glaring at the hole she’d made with the scissors.
Alya grimaced as Marinette’s tone, knowing she wouldn’t get anywhere.
MMI
Alya looked around the main hall, the entire school had been called for an unscheduled assembly, with Marinette being taken aside as soon as she entered the hall. All chatter died down when Mr. Damocles cleared his throat. The students could see the mayor, looking smug about something, and Marinette’s parents, with Marinette looking enraged at something.
“Yesterday a student assaulted another student,” Said Damocles, as Chloe smirked, “Normally, the student would be expelled, however, the entirety of the school staff threatened to resign if that actually happened.”
People looked at the Mayor, already seeing his hand in things.
“So, it has been decided that a public apology will be issued.” Said Damocles, ushering Marinette forward.
“I’m not going to apologise.” Said Marinette, making the Principle angry.
“Why?” Demanded Damocles, looking down at Marinette.
“My parents brought me up not to lie.” Said Marinette, getting some laughs from the other students.
“Daddy, make her apologise.” Demanded Chloe, making everyone grimace.
“Young lady,” Started the mayor, “It wouldn’t be good for your family’s image if you don’t apologise.”
“Meaning?” Demanded Marinette, folding her arms across her chest.
“If certain aspect about their food practices came to light-”
“What’s that supposed to mean?!” Snarled Mrs. Cheng, glaring at the mayor, “If you raised your daughter to believe that racial slurs are acceptable, then clearly my daughter isn’t at fault.”
“I don’t need a… woman telling me how to raise my daughter.” Sneered the Mayor, making Mrs. Cheng bristle.
“Daddy, I don’t see any reason to bargain with mongrels.” Said Chloe, making everyone gasp.
“You said our image would be bad, clearly you don’t have a mirror.” Snapped Mrs. Cheng, glaring at the Mayor and his daughter.
“That isn’t the issue here!” Yelled the Mayor, while Chloe continued to whine.
“You know what, I’ll apologise,” Said Marinette, suddenly, with the Mayor looking smug, “Chloe, I’m sorry I punched you in the eye,” Everyone realised that Marinette was building up to something, “I should’ve punched you in the mouth, that would have at least shut you up.”
The resulting laughter was deafening, as both Chloe and her father went red with rage. The mayor reached out and grabbed Marinette’s upper arm. A split second later, he was on the ground with his hands cradling his groin.
“Am I dismissed?” Asked Marinette, not caring if she was or not.
The Principle looked around, before nodding. Marinette hopped off the stage and walked outside, ignoring Chloe’s screams about getting the police involved.
MMI
Adrien found Marinette sitting on the roof, idly swinging her legs as she sat on the edge of the roof.
“Are, are you busy?” Asked Adrien, making Marinette jump and drop her phone.
“Shit,” Cursed Marinette, watching as her phone fell and landed in a bush, “no, I’m not busy.”
“Nino said something about you having an operation a few months back.” Said Adrien, making Marinette look at him.
“Operation? I’ve never had an operation.” Said Marinette, frowning at Adrien.
“The hush money?” Said Adrien, making Marinette realise what he was talking about.
“My mother had the operation,” Said Marinette, looking up at the sky, “she had liver disease, I donated some of mine so hers could start working again.”
“Oh.” Said Adrien, before looking at Marinette again, “Why didn’t you say you were on the train that Chloe tried to crash?”
“Because you seemed so upset that she was leaving and, frankly, my stupid crush on you made me want to make sure you were happy.” Said Marinette, before realising what she just said.
“Wait, you had a crush on me?” Asked Adrien, his face turning red.

wait i kinda love this sm. okay let me think. i feel like my first/puppy love would be maybe kenma or kageyama idk. but i feel like it would end just because it's not strong enough to last past high school and we don't wanna hold each other back :( if it was because we were holding back our feelings and worrying about other people then maybe kuroo sdfjkghsj. we're both sarcastic and petty and i feel like it would backfire. my second love would probably be atsumu or sakusa. i love them but i can see the relationship being difficult and a lil toxic. and the third one would be akaashi, bokuto or daichi. they feel like solid relationship partners. <3

Single trees are extraordinary; trees in number more remarkable still. To walk in a wood is to find fault with Socrates’s declaration that ‘Trees and open country cannot teach me anything, whereas men in town do.’ Time is kept and curated and in different ways by trees, and so it is experienced in different ways when one is among them. This discretion of trees, and their patience, are both affecting. It is beyond our capacity to comprehend that the American hardwood forest waited seventy million years for people to come and live in it, though the effort of comprehension is itself worthwhile. It is valuable and disturbing to know that grand oak trees can take three hundred years to grow, three hundred years to live, and three hundred years to die. Such knowledge, thoughtfully considered, changes the grain of the mind. - Robert Macfarlane, The Old Ways: A Journey on Foot Recently we drove to Couer d’Alene. North of town, I saw a strikingly handsome building set in a grove of old-growth trees. It was not a natural landscape, but when the building was constructed, the developer had left some ancient Douglas fir and ponderosa pine and created the impression of a long solidity in the landscape for his construction. It is rare for a builder to go to such trouble because it is simpler and more economical to clear a lot and build than to build around trees and other natural landscape elements. As we sat at the traffic light and I studied the property with its balance of trees, the stone and woodwork of the building, I wondered how the trees had experienced this construction and the loss of so many other trees in that particular stand. Two years ago, I witnessed a tree apparently doing something that I suspect I was not meant to see. Marilyn had just placed a planter full of new young plants on a deck rail, which was under the canopy of a very ancient willow. Out of the corner of my eye, I caught movement and turned just in time to see the willow purposely lift a frond and stroke the young plants. The action was like an arm lifting and then stroking the plants, and the movement occurred twice, lifting and returning, lifting and returning like a parent might stroke the head of a much-loved child. I have had the privilege of many odd and spiritual experiences – especially after I moved to New Mexico. Still, this particular moment in the pacific northwest haunts me as maybe the most significant spiritual moment of my life. I feel as though I saw a moment we are not privileged to see, and if we do see, it is under the influence of a mind-altering chemical like LSD, a moment when our ego is de-potentiated and no longer in control of our perceptions. I have had such experiences using LSD, but that was 50 years ago, and I doubt that I was having a flashback at this late date. Humanity suffers incredible hubris. We speak of looking to space to find intelligent life when we are actually looking for life like us. I suspect if we ever do find life like us, it will be terrifying – it will be a life driven by insularism and an attitude that cannot see us as an equal and will more than likely only see us in terms of our utility or see us in terms of something in the way, much like we see trees, wolves and everything else on this planet. We now scientifically know that trees and plants in forests have a massive communication network of mutually sustainable interactions. “In the 1960s, CIA interrogation expert Cleve Backster experimented with polygraph machines when he stumbled onto something novel. He noticed what appeared to be a change in electrical resistance with one of the plants, to which he connected the polygraph equipment whenever he removed a leaf or even “threatened” to harm the plant by intent alone. He likened this sudden electrical pulse to a “scream” emitted by the plant in response to endangerment. While Backster’s theory was considered a crackpot idea, many would follow similar, unusual observations about the behavior of plants, which seemingly represented a sort of “communication” they might be capable of.
For instance, a 1989 AP article discussed what one physicist, named Ed Wagner, believed were evidence he found of plant communication via what he called “W-waves”: Physicist Ed Wagner says he has found evidence that trees talk to each other in a language he calls W-waves. “If you chop into a tree, you can see that adjacent trees put out an electrical pulse,” said Wagner. “This indicates that they communicated directly.” Explaining the phenomenon, Wagner pointed to a blip on a strip chart recording of the electrical pulse. “It put out a tremendous cry of alarm,” he said. “The adjacent trees put out smaller ones…. People have known there was communication between trees for several years, but they’ve explained it by the chemicals trees produce,” Wagner said. “But I think the real communication is much quicker and more dramatic than that,” he said. “These trees know within a few seconds what is happening. This is an automatic response.” Wagner has measured the speed of W-waves at about 3 feet per second through the air. “They travel much too slowly for electrical waves,” he said. “They seem to be an altogether different entity. That’s what makes them so intriguing. They don’t seem to be electromagnetic waves at all.” Another physicist, William Corliss, also took an interest in Wagner’s discovery, noting that, “The voltage measured by electrodes implanted in trees goes up and down as one goes higher and higher up the trees… incidentally, electricity does seem to affect plant growth.” In more recent years, the idea of plants capable of forms of “communication” has been considered a bit more thoughtfully and is not outright shunned by the scientific community. One leading modern researcher and advocate for the varieties of ways plants communicate is Suzanne Simard, whose work with plants has helped set new precedents for how interactions between various species of flora occur. Simard’s research began to coalesce around what became a doctoral thesis two decades ago, in which she argued that a variety of communication methods were used by trees to achieve everything from expressing their needs to sharing nutrients “via a network of latticed fungi buried in the soil.” She further studied the varieties of ways that fungal filigrees were exploited by trees in ways that allowed them to send signals to other plants nearby about changes in the environment and even “helping” endangered plants by transferring and sharing nutrients with them. Speaking with “Yale Environment 360” last year, she talked about how, as she puts it, a forest “is a cooperative system,” saying: “To me, using the language of ‘communication’ made more sense because we were looking at not just resource transfers, but things like defense signaling and kin recognition signaling. We as human beings can relate to this better. If we can relate to it, then we’re going to care about it more. If we care about it more, then we’re going to do a better job of stewarding our landscapes.” Despite having communicative abilities, plants generally aren’t deemed to have any sort of intelligence. However, there are still some members of the scientific community that argue this is not necessarily the case. Author and researcher Michael Pollan, who studies the field of plant neurobiology, argues that plants are more perceptive than many would think: “They have analogous structures… They have ways of taking all the sensory data they gather in their everyday lives … integrate it, and then behave appropriately in response. And they do this without brains, which, in a way, is what’s incredible about it because we automatically assume you need a brain to process information.” Understanding how various life forms on earth communicate and cooperate with each other gives us a much broader sense of what “life on Earth” is truly about. It also challenges us to consider whether more complex interaction systems exist between organisms, including those that aren’t deemed intelligent or even responsive, by humans. In the case of plants, it seems unusual that these organisms, while deemed
to be very much alive, have long been relegated to being unresponsive and “vegetative,” in the most literal sense. Maybe it’s indeed time we start paying closer attention to our floral kindred and the subtleties of their interactions with each other and their environment.” Trees That Talk: The Bizarre World of Plant Communication Micah HanksJuly 2, 2017 As I come closer to the ending of my own span of years on this earth, I have become more acutely aware of the commonality I have with all life. Fear and suffering appear to be the same across all species, and I am beginning to wonder if love is also – not romantic love, but the deep logos love spiritual people have written about for millennia. I understand there are reasons we avoid seeing these connections and being aware of the “intelligence,” love, and fear of life around us. The Danish/Inuit Arctic explorer Kund Rassmussen once wrote, “The greatest peril of life lies in the fact that human food consists entirely of souls. All the creatures that we to kill and eat, all those that we have to strike down and destroy to make clothes for ourselves, have souls, souls that do not perish with the body and which must therefore be pacified lest they revenge themselves on us for taking away their bodies.” That is seen as a very primitive view, yet I wonder in our confusion of scientific methods for technological growth and exploitation if we are the primitives and the barbarians. I suspect our blindness to the intelligence of life here on earth, intelligence other than ourselves, is summed up in that statement. Maybe all intelligence really is is the knowledge that everything is connected and what we call intelligence is a form of narcissistic blindness. Perhaps the natural intelligence is in the willow, lifting a frond to stroke young plants that came under his/her/its protection and scope. Maybe the only innate intelligence is displayed in how we honor, respect, and care for everything. In addition to slowing me down in my interaction with the world, I find that this view brings me a sense of greater peace and a change in focus about what is and is not essential and how to express that “essentialness.” I also have greater clarity about what the ancients meant when they wrote of a fear of God. It is not a fear full of the pain of punishment – it is an awe that is hard to express and is likely to bring tears and an awareness of the pity of things and our oneness with everything.
