LOTR in a modern world headcanons? I think yes.
I did this on one of my old accounts that i ended up deleting for some reason, i don’t remember, but here. Back on my Lord Of The Rings BS, let’s gooooo. This’ll be the fellowship with everyone intact, no one is dead.
As always requests are open and let me know if you want more!
LOTR x GN! Reader, general headcanons for if you had to take care of them today, in 2023. Enjoy!
The ring most likely has no power in this dimension, so yay Frodo is free from torment!
Sam loves watching cooking, gardening and home renovation shows, and he gets very invested in the former two. You learn a lot you didn’t really need to know from his commentary
Once Pippin learns about pyjamas and fuzzy slippers he never goes back, you literally cannot get him out of them
Boromir and Aragorn, being human and coincidentally two of the most responsible members of the fellowship, are the easiest to take in public to the grocery store and such.
You can pass off the hobbits (if they cover their ears with their hair) as children, and Gimli is your friend with dwarfism.
Gandalf you can pass off as your grandfather, and Legolas looks pretty normal if you cover his ears.
Pippin is the type to bounce in his seat in the car and ask “Are we there yet?!” every 5 minutes
Frodo really likes to draw, especially when there’s so many cool places and movies to draw inspiration from.
Movie nights? No horrors. The hobbits are terrified by ‘em.
Movie nights are literally so difficult because they all have such different tastes
Merry really likes James Bond movies.
Pippin is obsessed with nail polish when you introduce him to it. Boromir gets his repainted every time the polish come off. His nails need serious help after a while
Pippin and Merry often start pillow fights, and drag everyone else into it
If you have space for a garden or plants in your home, Sam is on it. He finds it calming, so now you have some home grown plants :)
Taking the hobbits in public? Bad idea. You can trust Frodo and Sam, but Merry inevitably drags Pippin off to do something dumb and possibly dangerous.
Gandalf has an old man rocker. There is no discussion.
The hobbits do the classic “getting one sibling to ask for fast food because whoever’s in charge will say yes”, they get Frodo to do this because he has the best puppy dog face and he’s unsure about asking for things normally.
Pippin and Merry cannot handle too much caffeine or sugar or they go crazy
You thought Legolas’ hair was good before? He steals your hair care products and his hair is literally perfect.
(He’s also willing to do skincare with you, not that his face needs it. Again, flawless)
Game nights are so chaotic. You can’t play a lot of games since they don’t know what many things from this world are, so games like Trivia and Charades are off the table
Gimli and Legolas verse each other in video games, often enough it ends with Legolas winning and Gimli rage quitting
Aragorn is so responsible he’s literally the perfect man to do anything with, and he can hold the fort down if you need to leave
Pippin is so clingy, he trails you wherever you go and asks you random questions but it’s adorable
Boromir insists on carrying your stuff, bags of groceries, all that
Frodo often goes to the library to find new books to read, with you of course
There’s a whole debate on whether 3D or 2D animation is better, i would not get involved if i were you.
Pippin and Merry are also avid fans of quoting their favourite movies, once they see them
Legolas and Frodo are the best listeners, they will just sit there and not judge or try to give you advice they just. sit there. like the perfect men they are.
Legolas would have a meme for everything. Like any situation. You text him like “PIPPIN FELL DOWN SOME WELL WE DON’T EVEN HAVE A WELL HELP” and he just has a meme that fits the situation perfectly.
Frodo and Legolas would watch Avatar: The Last Airbender together because it’s their favourite show. Aragorn jumps in also.
Those three are also avid tea drinkers.
Boromir likes Game Of Thrones. I don’t know anything about it, he just does. Please confiscate Pippin while he does.
Pippin gasps dramatically whenever a plot twist surprises him.
Sam loves to cook, and he does a lot of cooking in the house once he arrives. You two just work together in the kitchen (if you can’t cook, he’ll teach you) and have nice sweet conversations
Legolas is great at doing people’s hair. If you ask him to, he’d probably agree, though he’d probably be a bit flustered as that is a courting ritual in his culture.
Ask Legolas to talk to you until you fall asleep. His voice is so heavenly istg-
The hobbits get sleepy when their hair is played with and it’s adorable
Won’t lie this hyperfixation came back then it circled back to TMNT and today i watched these films with my friend and now i’m back to LotR love. Most of this has been sitting in my drafts for a couple weeks.
Anyway, I think that’s about it from me, I hope you guys enjoy! :)
If you want to request, rules are pinned on my page! Let me know if you want a general part two or a set of modern headcanons for a specific character. I love LOTR in the modern world content so much.
Have a good day, and remember that you are loved!

For the AMA: What are your favorite Tolkien moments? Scenes from the books or movies that stuck with you or real life experiences or fond memories from in or around the fandom?😊
This is a great question! It would take me much longer than the entire Fellowship of the Ring movie to answer it fully, but here are some of my favorite Tolkien moments!
Books:
Reading Tolkien's elaborate descriptions of trees in The Fellowship of the Ring. As someone who loves nature, these sections really resonated with me.
Sam seeing the Star of Earëndil while in Mordor and feeling a surge of hope!
The downfall of Sauron in The Return of the King. I got chills reading this sentence for the first time: The Dark Lord was suddenly aware of [Frodo], and his Eye piercing all shadows looked across the plain to the door that he had made; and the magnitude of his own folly was revealed to him in a blinding flash, and all the devices of his enemies were at last laid bare.
Sauron shapeshifting in the Silmarillion. He is such a wild character. The more you learn about him, the more bananas he gets. it's incredible.
Movies:
Watching The Two Towers and The Return of the King on a plane flight with my dad. We started the movies at the exact same time so we could see them together. :')
Every Aragorn scene ever, but especially the scene where he masters the Palantír. Stare Sauron down, King.
"My friends, you bow to no one." The Hobbits getting the recognition they deserve!
Seeing the Hobbit movies in theaters with my fam!
Fandom:
Running @ainurweek and @glorfindelweek is a huge delight. This fandom is super creative, and I always enjoy seeing how people interpret the prompts.
Chilling in Tolkien discord servers with pals! :D
Working on fics for Tolkien Gen Week 2023 was a really fun experience.
When my grandma saw my t-shirt featuring the tree of Gondor and asked if it was a candelabra. She has since seen all of the LOTR movies and loves them.

self-ship asks, yuuji and/or sukuna (individually or a poly ship, whatever strikes your fancy): 🪱(with example questions if you feel like it), 🐠 (with how the date would go), 🎞️(is there any, I'll watch this but only because it's with you?).
Aww thank you for the questions babe!! 💗
Who asks ridiculous questions (like “would you still love me if I was a worm?”)
Answered here
Aquarium dates or museum dates?
Sukuna x Winter x Yuuji: Yuuji wants to go to the aquarium, and Sukuna wants to go to the museum. So we agree to go to both. Yuuji knows a lot about the different fishes because his grandpa used to take him fishing and to the aquarium quite often. Sukuna and I both think our boyfriend is super adorable and hot at the same time when he explains all kinds of interesting fish facts.💗 At the museum, Sukuna is in his element. He is a bit of a nerd and knows far too much about each and every thing. Some random people start following us because they assume this is some kind of museum tour lol, but when Sukuna glares at them and tells them they are interrupting our date, they quickly leave.
You each pick three movies for a movie marathon. Who’s picking what?
Yuuji x Winter: The Human Earthworm movies are important to Yuuji, so I watch them with him even though I don't like horror at all. I make him promise to not leave my side for several days, until I am not scared anymore ;) We both have "The Silver Linings Playbook" in our top-list, so this is something we watch quite often. (And yes, Yuuji tells me that he likes my ass better than Jennifer Lawrence's ass, and it makes me laugh so much). I also pick "LOTR" and "The Perks of Being a Wallflower," and Yuuji enjoys them too. He already knew them, though. It's kind of hard to surprise a movie lover like him when it comes to movies. Yuuji is very open to every genre, so he is ok with watching anything I pick. Sukuna x Winter: Tbh I have no idea which movies Sukuna would pick aaaah I never thought about it. He loves crime shows though and we often watch them together. He grins the whole time and tells me how much better he would be at figuring out the cases + at committing crimes and getting away with it 😂 Sukuna watches "LOTR" with me even though he thinks he won't really like it. But then he gets very invested in the lore and the next day I catch him reading the first book. Sukuna enjoys documentaries too, and some of them sound boring to me, but of course, I watch with him, and sometimes, I end up really finding them interesting after all. Other times, I spend those long hours watching Sukuna's face as he gets fully immersed in his documentary, and I can't stop grinning because I love how he is sitting there and soaking up all the knowledge.

Hey guess who didn’t hate the new Joker movie? (No spoilers)
So I went and saw it last night cause I needed something to do with someone I didn’t really want to spend time with, and I couldn’t think of something to do together. Look I don’t know, why don’t we go see Joker, it’s getting bad reviews so maybe we could go laugh at how bad it is or something?
So that’s what we did.
And then yeah I dunno. I didn’t hate it. I kind of liked it?
Maybe the trick was to go fully prepared to hate it, and then anything in it that was good went above my expectations. Maybe the trick was that I knew the movie made fans mad, so as I was watching it, I was entertained thinking about how joker fanboys would be hating it.
I don’t know what to say. I found it interesting. The first movie was technically quite well made, but made me deeply uncomfortable. I liked this one better. I liked the surreal quality. I watch musicals, I watch movies with songs in them. The music reminded me a lot of Dancer in the Dark. I don’t feel like the songs were “for no reason” as some have complained. I liked the beginning. I had a hard time liking Arthur in the first movie, but I was much more on board here, much more on his side. I loved the score, loved the malevolent cello, and there are some shockingly beautiful shots.
You guys are probably too young to know this, in fact *I* am almost too young to know this, but back in the day, movies used to begin with a random cartoon tacked on the beginning. I had no idea there was a cartoon with this movie too, and I thought that was super neato. I was also a bit surprised at the animation: 2D looney-toons style animation is basically a lost art at this point, and I had no idea who the heck they got to make that. Credits revealed: it was Sylvain Chomet. (Triplets of Belleville, the illusionist) Of course it was. That was a neat surprise that I hadn’t heard anyone mention.
Unpopular opinion: I actually really just do not like Harley Quinn as a character. Ever. She is, at best, annoying to me. Even in Birds of Prey, I just didn’t really enjoy it. I enjoyed her in this movie. This is the first time ever, ever, that I have ever seen Harley Quinn and was actually interested in her. Whatever I was expecting, it was NOT this. I was absolutely fascinated by how different her dynamic with Arthur was. I won’t give away spoilers but dang, yeah, that was not what I was expecting and I really liked that.
I can see why fans are mad at this movie. Tbh sometimes I felt like it was made specifically to make people mad, or that it was made as a snarky response to the creepy joker fanboys who turned the first movie into their brand new Fight Club. I found that amusing. As I was watching it I was entertained thinking about how much it made people mad. I think it made me more willing to be on the movie’s side. Some people have said Joaquin Phoenix phoned in his performance here but I do not agree.
Unfortunately….
Nothing can save the ending, which is an absolute fucking mess. The whole thing starts to unravel and meander with the trial, and then we have an egregious case of multiple-ending-syndrome a la LOTR. I was very bored by the end and really wanting things to wrap up, and that is such a huge shame. I feel like a few rewrites could have tightened up the last third and turned it into a proper big ol gut punch, but instead it rambled on and on to the point where I didn’t know or even care what it was trying to do anymore, and those songs that I liked initially, I started to groan instead because I didn’t want another song, I wanted them to hurry up and end the movie.
So yeah. I don’t know. Picked out the movie 100% expecting it to be dogshit, had a legit fun time instead. I do not regret using up my tickets.
(NOTE: hilariously, every single YouTube review I have seen pronounces the title differently, and incorrectly. Not sure why, I thought folie a deux was a psychiatric term that was generally familiar? Guess not. It’s pronounced foh-LEE ah DUH, with the U in deux being pronounced like the U in put. I have heard some extremely creative pronunciations! I find it amusing!)

So i've just stumbled upon match ups and I'm here for this concept!! Bit of fun and all that, in the spirit of reader shipping i'd love a Hobbit/LOTR/HP/Marvel match up - lover of many fandoms here!
I'm late 20s, mid size, petite. Ashy blonde/true summer season who's an Aquarius and ENFJ. Have been compared to Chloe Grace Moretz and Abigail Breslin by people which I always find a weird combo but guess it somehow works for me.
London based but split my time in New York, Dublin, and Sydney because my family is all over. Appriciative of all kinds of culture - firmly believe that we all have to eat, find ways to enjoy ourselves in life, and eventually die so why not learn about different customs and travel to experience them.
Still love my comforts though - not afraid of out there art (Poor Things is currently my fave film in the Oscars race) and was raised on the 90s Sabrina The Teenage Witch. It's a fine line between having compassion and complaining and I walk that line well. I'm serious when i'm serious but embrace being silly. Ironic sense of humour, including dark jokes but can be sensitive at times. A realist with my head in the clouds and aware of it, if that makes sense! I know how to focus and dedicate myself to getting things done but firmly believe there is nothing wrong with wanting to be taken care of at the end of the day, balance is important.
In love i'm playful and poetic but don't hold back in saying how I really feel about a person. Definitely someone who rambles and overshares with my partner but incredibly observing and loyal to who i'm with. Building up the other person is important and self care is too - i'm always up front if I need to go off and spend time alone or with friends but my husband is my best friend hands down.
So curious as to what pairings you can come up with!

Photo dump and update from the last week. Leavenworth last Wednesday was fun! The concert we were going to attend got cancelled and we ended up leaving before it got dark and the lights really popped, but we all had a good time anyway. Thursday was Rory’s work’s Christmas dinner and after that he surprised me with a hotel stay! Friday was a low key day at home and we made a bunch of fudge. Saturday we had a couple different friends over and worked on a puzzle. The kids all helped for a bit before they lost interest and us adults ended up finishing it. Christmas Eve was busy. We had church that morning and then I ran out to my BIL and SIL’s place to drop off a gift for the family gift exchange that we do with them every year. Got home in time to grab the kids and head back to church for choir practice in preparation for the candlelight service. The service went well. The tech had some issues with the music but it got sorted out. We came home and while Ror was finishing dinner prep his youngest brother and his wife stopped by to drop off a gift for the exchange and my sibling and their wife came over to join us for dinner! For dinner Ror made prime rib. I didn’t get any before pics but I did snag an after picture lol. After dinner the kids opened their gifts from the aunties and then we watched my all time absolute favorite Christmas movie; It’s a Wonderful Life. Since we started the movie late the kids got to stay up late and then after they were in bed Ror and I got the presents set out under the tree and stockings taken care of. My oldest Jennifer does a scavenger hunt for us to find our presents from her so in order to give her time to hide all the clues she’s the only one allowed out of her room before 8:30am. It’s so nice knowing we won’t be up at a stupid early hour. We did the scavenger hunt, the kids opened their stockings, and then everyone opened their gifts. After presents I gathered everyone for our annual family picture in our matching jammies and then we spent the rest of the morning dancing along to just dance videos. It’s ridiculous how good my big girls are at that! I’ve never done it before but lots of laughs were had and that’s all that matters to me. Late morning we had a zoom call with Rory’s side of the family and we did our gift exchange. Sometime after lunch we played Fluxx with the kids. I bought the Jumanji version and the Marvel one is on its way. The kids enjoyed it and Nikki won. I got Nikki some heartless hair curlers in her stocking and the results are THE CUTEST!!! I didn’t think Nikki could get any cuter and I was wrong! Anyway, Tuesday I had my weekly coffee date with Lori and gym date with Ror. Jennifer and her boyfriend went to the fabric store and bought some material to make blankets and while they waited for the fabric to be washed and dried they used my old dance lesson videos and spent a couple hours swing dancing. They’re so stinking cute together it’s ridiculous. While they were dancing I finally got around to cutting out my rainbow window cling and getting the designs put up! The monstera leaves took forever to cut out but they’re my favorite and I’m glad it’s finally done. Today I had a breakfast date with my SIL and then met up with Ror at the gym for a workout. We worked shoulders and now it’s a challenge lifting my arms 😂. It’s been a lovely busy week. This next week won’t be _as_ busy but it will be busy. I’ve got Nikki’s 15th birthday this Friday and then our 17th annual NYE LOTR marathon. 🥳🥳 it’s one of my favorite days of the year!

3, 7, 12, and 13 for the ask game ‼️💥💥 (im not typing out the titles for this LMAO) —@cephalophoricboyfriend
YIPPEE!! THANKS!! @cephalophoricboyfriend
ok i went off on this so im making it a read more bc. wow
3: "Dance, Dance" - Are there any songs you strongly associate with you and your f/o? Any specific lyrics from them that really gets you thinking of you two?
yes hahahahaha and i have a full playlist. of these. i will not be sharing that but im going to copy u and shuffle it and then share the song.
Tumblr media
thats funny. literally shared this with friends the other day.
so im cheating here a bit but this is kind of paired with his other song in my playlist
Tumblr media
i like to imagine "underground" is from the perspective of creature (s/i) whereas "i hear a symphony" is from the perspective of p/ardoes. lol. <- gay
Underground is definitely less clear with what it's about but to ME it's about falling in love- but the feeling is sudden and confusing and even scary with love hitting u like a god damn train. but in the end it's something precious and finally found
I Hear a Symphony is much more (traditionally) romantic. but yknow how it is im all about that cheesy shit. and listen. the person clearly has this. sense of wonder and treats this love like magic he's never experienced before ohhhhh my god
(this whole ask is already long as hell so if you WANT to see the lyrics i feel like just hearing the song/looking up the lyrics is enough to see what i mean. and how. they fit. and makes me think of them)
7: "7 Minutes in Heaven (Atavan Halen)" - Do you have any physical items (preferably something other than merch of them) that remind you of your f/o? What are they?
COOL: i have an f/o that DOES have merch
NOT COOL: He Is A Netherlands Themepark Mascot Meaning Me, A Californian, Has Little Access To It
COOL: ive made FRIENDS who have been able to give me THINGS. official merch i have now: a plush of him, a plush of a fishy from his ride, AND gay ass slippers that are like his jester shoes. i also have a lego of him ;w; it's not official but it's super cute and my friend built it for me
i also have fabric tulips i bought bc he's dutch lol. stuff with stars reminds me of him too. which works bc i love stars anyway,,
12: "Get Busy Living or Get Busy Dying (Do Your Part to Save the Scene and Stop Going to Shows)" - Are there any interests of yours that your f/o just doesn’t seem to be able to get into? Are there any that they weren’t originally interested in but later came around to it?
yeah i think so! even though im a little bitch with scary stuff i think i am more open to horror than he is. i really love movies and i doubt some of the movies i like would be ones he would ever want to watch or enjoy. which is fine LOL he just has to like the ones im insane about (lotr, for example)
other than that i think most of my interests are something he'd at least enjoy. like maybe he's not as familiar with pet care/animals as i am (i have a Lot of different pets) but he's definitely not someone who is bad with animals either. AND there's gardening, which i really love and would. find his company during it really nice. i think he'd like it too (though not as consistently gardening as i would be doing)
13: "XO" - In what ways do you and your f/o don't exactly mesh well together?
a hard question since i am a creature of self indulgence and like to believe we mesh Very well all the time always. but the closest i can say is that he is much more extroverted and kind in general whereas i Am Not Those Things. he's a performer and i super am not. he's also very smart and devotes a lot of time to study and learning which i dont think i could do.
and on the flip side: he's not as aggressive and blunt with certain things. i think he CAN be very blunt (he IS an honest person and not exactly known to always be polite- mischievous jester and all that) but immediate aggression towards someone is not something i imagine him doing. and while he is also impulsive i think our impulsive natures can manifest in different ways. he probably wouldnt run head first into danger or assume the worst about someone who was being an ass. i (and creature, s/i) do these things lol

Okay, so, I've watched the movies and I've read The Big Three, though I'm still a little shaky on my Silmarillion lore if I'm being honest. Where do I go from here if I want to read more Tolkien? Is there a commonly followed reading order? Should I just go by publication date? (Yes I am motivated to get into deeper lore because of your blog, that's why I'm asking you lmfao)
Oh hey! Happy to see my blog dragging people deeper down into the black hole of increasingly obscure Tolkien works!
I actually have a friend reading the Silm for the first time and I'm already making my little evil plans that can be summed up by "If she doesn't hate it, what can I tempt her to read next?" So I've been giving it a lot of thought lately, actually! Which is why this post ended up, uh, long.
I've taken the liberty of adapting this answer a little bit just in case I have any followers who have read fewer books than you have and find this useful. Hope you don't mind it!
The best way to read Tolkien depends a lot on what you enjoy. If you thought The Hobbit was too childish, don't read his stories for children. If your eyes glazed over when poems came up in LotR, don't pick a poetry book. If The Silmarillion drove you to tears, maybe wait before you get into the more scholarly works.
Availability is also something to consider. Maybe your local library has a few titles already, or you happen to find a good copy of something in a used bookstore, or there's a deal that saves you a lot of money. Alternatively, maybe you're set on reading something but can't find it. You might also fall in love with a story through fandom and want More Of It, or see a pretty edition that you just Must Own. These are all okay! See, the thing about Tolkien is that generally speaking, you can read his works in almost any order, so be open to changing your plans as stuff comes up in your life. I'd be willing to take a bet that the minority of fans read his stuff in any way that makes any sense lol
Personally, I think it makes sense to read in this sequence:
Read these first
The core stuff
The Hobbit
The Lord of the Rings
The Silmarillion
These are the Big Three, and you should probably get to them before you get to anything else.
The Silmarillion might take a couple of attempts to get through depending on how comfortable you are with the style, and I personally had to read it from cover to cover twice before I felt like I had a good grasp on it. @askmiddlearth has a pretty good guide that my friend who's reading it is finding really helpful.
Stories you already know: now with 200% more detail
Most other books won't be Silm levels of difficult, btw! But many assume you're familiar with it, simply because Hobbit-LotR-Silm are usually the ones most people read. So even if I otherwise follow a generally "easiest to hardest" logic, the Silm belongs here.
As an addendum, I would say the LotR appendices are a good bridge, stylistically speaking, to the Silmarillion.
The books in this category can be read in any order you feel like - you already know how they fit together.
Unfinished Tales
The Great Tales of Middle Earth, which is a series containing the following standalone books:
The Children of Hurin
Beren and Luthien
The Fall of Gondolin
Here you'll find mostly unfinished, often contradictory versions of stories you already know - but with lots of awesome detail that fandom tends to consider canon as much as we can.
These are books which contain both stories by Tolkien and commentary by his son Christopher, explaining his father's creative process and taking educated guesses as to how stories connect together and so on. It's a gentle introduction to more hardcore scholarship and if you can handle long tumblr meta I'm sure you can handle these.
Oh, and of these four books, Children of Hurin is the easiest to read by far, so maybe begin from that one. You might even read it before The Silmarillion and possibly before The Lord of the Rings (especially if you've watched the movies) - it's a pretty straightforward novel.
Read these in any order you want
I'm listing them in the order I think makes the most sense, but if you've read the books above you can just pick any section here according to your interest
Fairy tale essays, short poems, short stories and such things
The Adventures of Tom Bombadil and Other Verses from the Red Book
Farmer Giles of Ham
Tree and Leaf
Smith of Wootton Major
The Father Christmas Letters
Mr Bliss
Roverandom
Tales from the Perilous Realm
These aren't technically legendarium relevant but are delightful if you like fantasy. A lot (but not all) of these are very light reading and excellent to read to children who aren't ready for the actual legendarium yet, or to turn to as a break from heavier material.
I really wanted to make separate sections for children's literature and things that just happen to be fairy tales but immediately noticed I had no idea when a fairy tale becomes too grown up to be children's literature, so a single section it is
The Deep Lore™️
You know when Frodo inherits Bilbo's papers (and then Sam inherits Frodo's) and they have to make sense of it? That's what it's like reading HoME.
The History of Middle Earth series, or HoME for short.
(There are 12 books in this series. It's probably a terrible idea to read them out of order, so I won't even list them here)
Basically, these are nearly all the scraps of paper by Tolkien that could be found at the time, put together chronologically and presented with commentary. Here you can find answers to like 80% of the questions you might have after reading the other books, and then answers to a million other questions you didn't actually have.
This feels more like reading a library than a book series - whether this makes you want to read it more or less depends on your taste.
Also! Last year they released The Nature of Middle Earth, which is in the same vein as these but I haven't read it yet so I don't feel quite comfortable saying "Oh yeah this is when you should read it!"
Tolkien as a person: biography, letters and essays
JRR Tolkien: A Biography (by Humphrey Carpenter)
The Letters of JRR Tolkien
The Monsters and the Critics and Other Essays
I'm not the best person to ask about studying Tolkien as a person, but these are probably the most famous (and important) books.
The Letters also contain a lot of info about Middle Earth, so they might be worth taking a look even if you, like me, don't feel like reading tons of biographies.
For fans of all things medieval
The Fall of Arthur
Beowulf: A Translation and Commentary, together with Sellic Spell
Finn and Hengest: The Fragment and the Episode
The Legend of Sigurd and Gudrun
The Story of Kullervo
Sir Gawain and the Green Knight, Pearl and Sir Orfeo
The Lay of Aotrou and Itroun
These are all translations, commentaries or deliberate imitations of actual medieval texts, as opposed to the ahistorical quasimedieval thing the legendarium has got going on. You probably shouldn't touch these if poetry scares you, though.
And that's it...?
Not really, no. There are other publications if you're a completist, but these are the major ones in every category I can think of. There should be some 30-40 books here anyway, so this should keep you busy for a while!
Note that I won't revisit this post to update it every time a new book is released, so for more recent books, use your best judgment!

Tales Of Arcadia + Memes & Foolishness + Funny Headcanons
I saw a Voltron one and now I will torture you. This could kinda fit in with the Big Bro Douxie AU so tagging @honeyxmonkey
Eli is the cryptid of the group. After finding the trolls, aliens, and wizards. He just goes ballistic and tried to find Nessie, Mothman, and the Billycraggle
But Nimue is Nessie so...
Steve and Toby become some weird meme duo. Quoting vines and memes all the time.
Steve and Toby: *shoving Douxie towards Merin* "YOU ARE MY DAD BOOGIE WOOGIE WOOGIE!!!"
But Jim and Douxie come up with the darkest jokes ever. It's kinda terrifying.
Eli: Wow it's really dark outside!
Douxie: Like my soul and my coffee at 3am
Jim: Like the bathtub
Krel and Claire are the sarcastic ones.
Somebody: *says something*
Claire & Krel automatically: *something sarcastic*
Aja also liking memes but not understanding them would be adorable.
Steve and Toby just keep trying to teach her but she doesn't get it at all
Y'all say Krel wouldn't like Douxie's music, but I think Krel loves all music and would think it was badass if Douxie used his spellcaster guitar in a battle
One time when things get messy, Douxie throws his staff and it turns into a motorcycle, he just jumps on and runs over the bad guys.
Jim in the background: "Vespas are better."
Jim and Douxie proceed to get in a competition about it. Jim wins but only because Douxie lets him.
Toby and Darci, Jim and Claire, and Steve and Aja go on a triple date.
Eli and Krel hide at a different table and watch because they have nothing better to do.
Douxie is their waiter and WON'T LEAVE THEM ALONE
Whenever they have a larger scale battle, everybody counts their kills like Gimili and Legolas in LOTR. Jim, Douxie, and Aja always win except for one time when Eli wins and boasts about it for a week.
One night they have a sleepover and watch shitty action movies till the crack of dawn but it's basically only Douxie is awake and he can't move because all the kids are asleep on top of him.
He loves it though.
Remember we headcanoned that Douxie would break the kids out of jail?
Yeah, they get into jail one time. Call Douxie their brother and they get out. Douxie doesn't condone the children getting into jail, but adores the brother thing.
You know the little forehead bonk that Archie and Merlin did to Douxie in Wizards? Yes, Douxie does it to the kids.
He also calls them moppets.
Jim just cooks a giant family dinner one night and everybody is there. EVERYBODY. The others help with making the dinner, but Jim is not just a master swordsman and they all listen to him.
Gnome Chompsky has another peanut child.
One time Douxie is being angsty (or thinking about Zoe) and Zoe (of course) walk into the room. Douxie panics says some waiter pun then runs away.
Krel finds it and never lets Douxie live it down.
They all go to the mall one time and Steve gets dared to Nurato run throughout the entire place. Steve is banned from Arcadia mall from now on but he says it was worth it.
One time Krel is very bored so he builds a robot that Steve and Toby told him to make it quote memes. (this is an idea from a Voltron post where Pidge makes a robot that quotes vines. And Lotor keeps getting harassed.)
Nobody forgives those three for making that thing.
ARRRGHHH and Toby create a Go-Go Sushi tournament. ARRRGHHH wins.
One time the entire gang goes to Akaridion-5 for a tour. Aja leads it and Varvatos adds GLORIOUS violent commentary.
Aja and Jim enjoy sparring together because SWORDS.
Douxie at one point gets a bow because those fingers of his could absolutely work that. AND MAGIC ARROWS
Everybody calls him Katniss now.
One time everybody is going over to Toby's place and every time somebody comes, Toby opens the door and does the "hi welcome to chilis" vine.
One time Claire and Aja spar and Jim and Steve simp in the background. Krel is facepalming. Douxie won't let them live it down.
Eli swears he saw Mothman one time. Nobody believes him.
Did he see Mothman? You guys can guess.
Either way, this was fun to make. If anybody has any more crazy ideas. REBLOG AND PUT THEM THERE BECAUSE I WOULD LOVE THAT!!
Goodbye.

Hey did you guys know there's a 30 tag limit on tumblr? I kinda went on a rant, so hit read more if you want to see it
Tumblr media
Edgeworld doesn’t really work like that! There’s not really any such thing as being magical or biological; the world is nonsense and things happen because they should, rather than any kind of in universe logic.
Dragons breathe fire because that’s just what they’re expected to do. Elves do magic because fae are SUPPOSED to grant wishes and curse people. Peoples insides are entirely nonfunctional and don’t actually connect to anything, but work anyway because that’s just how bodies should work.
Tumblr media
The entire setting is dependent on being a fictional representation of concepts and ideas people know about in real life, and doesn’t actually make sense to the people inhabiting the world. It’s there for an audience they don’t know exists.
The world is very confusing to your average Edgeworlder.
(This, by the way, is why it’s totally fine to scrap and change concepts in fan stuff; “I, the author, want this thing to happen” is already how things work in the first place!)
#i love this approach to worldbuilding so much#i know some people get annoyed when worldbuilding doesn't have an explanation for everything or is 'unrealistic'#but I fucking love when a creator just goes wild and comes up with super out there stuff just for the fun of it#and the key here is that this world DOES still have rules#the main one being having some kind of tie to tropes the audience would probably be familiar with#like the idea that dragons can breathe fire#but within that framework the creator can just fill in the details with whatever ideas are most interesting to them#or what works for the story they're trying to tell or just whatever they feel like#i love that#i see now why this artist has been showing up in my recommendeds for a month#another rant that I feel like typing right now feel free to scroll down if you don't care:#spoiler warning for the movie Your Name#i once had a surprisingly tense argument with a friend about the use of time travel in this movie#she found it really irritating the way it was executed cause of the way it allowed for paradoxes to form and split timelines and all that#and I get that that's a thing some people find hard to ignore#but if you're positioning that as a criticism of the movie's writing...what else were they supposed to do?#there is literally no other way you could tell this story#these characters having this surreal window into each other's lives and each being able to majorly influence the other's life#that's what creates most of the tension and intrigue in the story#and it explores so many interesting themes and emotions by asking what being a situation like that would feel like#so if they wanted to have a 'realistic' depiction of time travel based on theoretical physics or whatever#this story would be completely gutted#the incredible work of art that is Your Name simply wouldn't exist#and this isn't to say that indepth sci-fi/fantasy like Star Trek and Lord Of The Rings doesn't have its own value#this friend is a huge fan of both of those things and I totally get what she sees in them#we watched the lotr movies together and I really enjoyed them#but the idea that that kind of worldbuilding is superior#to exploring more out-of-the-box unrefined ideas for the emotional value or just straight up because it's fun#that makes me so mad. fiction can be anything you want and as long as somebody is enjoying what you create than you're doing something right#so yeah nonsense organ systems and dragons that breathe fire just because they're dragons are concepts that I can definitely get behind

I'm currently rewatching The Hobbit movie trilogy and honestly I do love the movies despite how they deviate from the book. Thorin is one of my fav characters ever and Richard did amazing. Curious about your favs and thoughts n feelings on the movies
Hiya! Okay. Well, I just finished the Battle of Five Armies just a few hours ago, so let's see.
The first movie, I liked well enough. They changed some things but overall kept the feel of the story, and though The Hobbit is a short book, doing a page for page adaptation just...would not work, it would be a mess. So I understand. All in all I found it enjoyable, with that warm fantasy sweetness well mixed in.
I really don't like the addition of Azog was necessary, at all. And I do wish they'd given Radagast a little bit more respect, at the least not put that bird mess in his hair and down his clothes. And while the troll scene was pretty good, hearing the dwarves scream about how very many parasites they had was a little jarring, and poor Bilbo, used as a tissue!
(Also, Fili and Kili are the Bill and Ted of the dwarves).
I would watch the first movie again, and I'll probably end up buying it.
The second movie...I did not enjoy.
My biggest issues were with Legolas and Tariual and Kili and Thranduial. Legolas shouldn't even be there, and his personality was very different. He didn't really seem like Legolas. Tariual I did not like having in there, but I just felt bad for her mostly, because her only purpose as a character is to be somebody's girlfriend. If you cut out the romance, there's nothing to her, theres nothing that makes her special or unique or interesting. And that's a shame. Also Kili's trousers line? Shame.
Also Legoas was rude as hell about Gloin's wife and child (its Gimli haha, Legolas said he was a little goblin thing and later on they become literally inseparable haha) and I just did not like that.
The third movie....was...
Well, spoilers at this point for anyone who hasn't seen it, but
Fili and Kili should have died together. They should not have separated them like that.
Also I really hated Kili saying that Taurial made him feel young. It's so cliche on it's own and him? HIM? KILI felt OLD beforehand? Since WHEN? If they'd wanted that line, they should've given it to Taurial, that at least would've made slightly more sense. But my sibling and I discussed it, and since in human years Kili would've been around thirty, we decided that he was just having a crisis. And Crisis Kili I can at least understand saying that a bit more.
Ah! Ah! I nearly forgot, why was Kili's head being cradled by a basket walnuts? That choice boggles me, I can't understand it.
Bard was a good father, and it was refreshing to see that for once.
The were-worms....shouldn't have been. We already have five armies going on, we don't need this HUGE EXISTENCE just randomly introduced like that.
Thorin and Bilbo's last scene was done very well, though when he (Bilbo) said his goodbyes to the party, it brought up an issue that has bugged me throughout-
THERE IS NOT ENOUGH AFFECTION IN THESE MOVIES
Hug, kiss, hold, clasp. These are Thorin's friends, his family, they all care so much about each other, but they rarely physically express it, and they should have, because that is a constant thread in Tolkien's works.
Thorin pressing his forehead to Fili's? That was amazing, there should have been more of that, spread out all amongst them. (Also, criminal underuse of Fili, across the board, btw).
And all the moments with Galadrial and Elrond ect and the ring I thought was both unnecessary and bogging down to the story. I know they want to make that connect to the LOTR movies clear, but theres already a lot going in Hobbit storyline in it's own right.
Bilbo and Thorin were my favorites, well cast and well acted. (Though I wish, I wish that they had given Thorin a proper full dwarven beard, Fili and Kili are the babies of the group so I can understand why for them, but this is the king! His beard should've been majestic).
So, to sum up- The first movie wasn't a great book adaptation but it was a pretty solid movie, and I enjoyed it.
And while the second and third ones had their moments that I liked, on the whole I didn't enjoy them very much, and I probably wouldn't watch them again, at least not anytime soon.
These are just my options though, you like them and that's good, because it truly is a wonderful story.

An: I had so much fun writing this! Members under the cut!
홍중 (Hongjoong)
Literally so invested
When he sees the sparkle in your eyes as you explain the lore, his heart is doing flips I tell you.
How hadn’t you told him sooner?
Doesn’t say a word while you talk, only going “Mhm~” with stars in his eyes.
If it’s a videogame, or a roleplaying game like D&D, he will practically beg you to give him a crash course in what to do.
“Are you sure you want to learn how to do this Joongie?”
“Mhm! I wanna learn, it looks fun! Just teach me the basics for now~”
Supportive boyfriend right here.
Will look up playthroughs and explanations of the lore in his own time to get a better understanding.
If he knows a little more, than it can be something the both of you enjoy!
If it’s a franchise like LoTR or something similar, he’ll definitely put the movies on when it’s movie night.
Cue Joong asking you about your favourite and least favourite parts about the franchise.
If there are any spin-off titles, he’ll ask if you recommend watching them too.
May end up becoming a fantasy nerd himself.
Makes you little memorabilia whenever he can.
Honestly loves how large your imagination must be for you to be into fantasy.
성화 (Seonghwa)
He kinda just goes “Woah...” at first.
You think he doesn’t like it; he was sitting there more or less speechless.
When he sees your dejected face, Hwa panics.
Because he does like it, he’s just surprised he hadn’t caught on sooner.
Reassures you that he is interested, and pokes at you to continue talking about it.
Cue several cute interested Hwa sounds
Asks if you have any merch you wanna show him.
He hasn’t told you, but he’s started looking into the franchise for himself.
Might not end up being his taste, but he still keeps a small interest in it.
It was something you were interested in after all.
Chuckles to himself when he sees you really into the series.
Something about you excited about the fantasy franchise you were into was endearing.
Always lends an ear to your theories and headcanons
You surprise him-
He swears you’ve just described an entirely new novel to him.
The headcanon is just that detailed.
Definitely encourages you to try creative writing/design courses to see if you could take your interests further
Asks if you want to create your own fantasy series.
Supportive boyfriend #2 over here~
As long as you’re happy, he’s happy.
윤호 (Yunho)
He’s honestly more excited than you are to be honest
Bounces like a child when you describe the lore to him.
If the stars in his eyes could get any brighter, they would. He is literally the pleading eyes emoji
You mention that you’ve created original characters inspired by the franchise, and he almost pounces on you with even more questions.
Will ask if you’ve created a character based off of himself.
Which you have, and when you show him, he gets even more excited - if that’s even possible.
Will ask you to explain the character’s entire backstory.
Falls in love with you even more - if he even can at that point.
Finds every way possible to have you talk about any and everything fantasy related.
Calls you in the middle of the night to listen to you ramble about your latest character design.
Tells all the members that you’ve created a character about him and boasts about it for months.
You might have another fantasy nerd on your hands now.
여상 (Yeosang)
Kind of a fantasy nerd himself.
So, when you reveal that you’re into fantasy, he kinda goes “Oh? Me too!”
Excited giggles from both of you
Cue fantasy themed date nights...you cuties
Curled up in a blanket together with a load of snacks, watching your favourite movies together.
Oh god the theory discussions you two have.
Now you two can call each other at God forbidden times of the night and talk about your favourite series.
Since he’s the only one who knows, he’s glad only he gets to see that excited grin on your face when you talk about the show.
Low-key starts boasting about it too.
Like, only he can see you when you’re this cute, you know?
You’d take his drones away if he told any of the boys about your fantasy shows, so it becomes your shared little secret~
Buys you cosplay pieces so you can dress up as your favourite character.
Compliments you for days.
Literally so pretty :(
Takes a thousand pictures (Yes, he keeps a set as his background)
He’s already dressed up as Harley Quinn, so he’s more than happy to dress up as one of the major ships.
Especially if it’s your favourite ship too.
Conventions! Omg you’d go to as many conventions as you could together.
Couple goals~
Singing to soundtracks together as you get ready.
Definitely uses it as a way to tease you.
Sees you having a fan moment over a character and pretends to get all pouty.
“Your boyfriend’s right here, but you’re only focusing on them? Fine then...”
Laughs when he sees the blush on your face
Of course, he gets the same treatment from you.
Healthy relationships, we love to see it. Now where do I get this?
산 (San)
Cannot control the absolute look of admiration in his face at all.
Looks at you with all the wonder in the world. His eyes’ sparkle :(
It may sound a little confusing at first to him, but hearing you describe it with so much passion warms his heart.
Asks you to take the plot step-by-step, so he can understand it a little better
Watches some of it when he can, and he can definitely see the appeal
Interesting characters, an entirely different world, no wonder you love it so much.
He has his games, and you already knew about them, so he’s happy he knows about you more, ‘hidden’ interests.
When he heard you ask him not to find it weird after you’re caught having a fan moment, he pouts immediately.
Why would he find it weird that you were a fan of something? He was quite the fanboy himself, after all
Spends a considerable amount of time reassuring you that he doesn’t find your interests or you weird.
No one is feeling insecure about liking a franchise that makes them happy on his watch.
Buys you merch as soon as it releases.
Little excited claps when he sees your reaction.
It soon becomes your favourite merch item and he’s so proud.
Sees you wearing it literally wherever you can
When you invite him to have a movie marathon with you after he finishes his schedule, San swears he’s head over heels because he agrees without hesitation.
No second thought required
Be prepares to have several more marathons while he asks a million questions at once.
Might have to create a PowerPoint for this cutie.
민기 (Mingi)
Honestly, he’s kinda lost at first
You kinda have to tell him again and he goes “Oh...I get it!”
Does not get it.
A bit like San, a presentation may be needed at some point.
When he kinda gets it, this baby gets really excited, but he’s almost a little sad.
Because you didn’t tell him until now, you know?
Asks you about the entire main cast, and your favourite character.
Finds you watching your show and quietly sits beside you
He wants to try and understand the plot for himself.
Gets so engrossed, his eyes turn into the pleading eye emoji
He’s so cute, I swear-
Honestly, Mingi finds it so cool that you enjoy fantasy.
“Y/n, can we watch it together from now on? I really like it!”
Yeah, you might end up marrying that man right there and then.
Starts asking you to introduce him to other shows you like that you think he might like as well.
Ends up with a full list and starts watching them all.
I mean all of them
Hell, I think you’ll turn him into a fantasy nerd as well.
Borrows one of your merch hoodies and wears it around the house.
It’s his now :(
Please, he looks so small
You end up buying him a matching hoodie
Refuses to take it off unless he has to.
Listens to all of your fan ravings
Learns about all of your favourite ships.
High-key starts analysing them with you
Yep- you’ve got a fantasy nerd on your hands now, enjoy!
영 (Wooyoung)
Okay, excited child alert
Another one who literally bounces when you tell him. Gives you puppy eyes for days.
Why didn’t you tell him sooner?
Bugs you constantly about the shows you like and your favourite character.
Which leads him to go on an internet deep-dive (Definitely on Twitter)
He enjoys cooking, so he finds a way to cook the food from the show.
And holy shit it tastes better than you imagined.
Once he sees your reaction, Wooyoung makes it his mission to surprise you with dishes from the show.
Late nights binging your favourite shows together is now a must.
Does kinda laugh a little too loud in your ear, but you’re used to it.
In all truth, you appreciate that he wants to watch it with you
He may be watching it with you, but he also loves seeing your reaction to what’s happening on screen
Please, he thinks you’re the cutest human on earth.
Maybe he takes a picture or two. Maybe
Finds really cute keepsakes from the show while he’s on tour and buys them for you
Takes a picture of them and send them to you with the caption, ‘Look what I got~’
You literally squeal and call him immediately
A proud smile on his face when he hears your voice
You’re rambling thank yous in every language you know and Wooyoung’s there on the other line giggling
Yeah, you’re being spoiled with merch from now on.
Precious baby :(
종호 (Jongho)
Probably has the most neutral response out of all the boys
Kinda just goes, “Oh, that’s cool, fantasy’s really interesting.”
Low-key sounds uninterested, but trust me, he is. Even if it’s just a tad.
Jongho strikes me as the type to not tell you that he’s learning about your favourite show.
You’ll be watching an episode and he walks in, “Oh, [character]’s pairing with [character] is really neat. They wrote them really well.”
“Huh..? How do you know..?”
You thought he wasn’t interested in the show and he giggles at your confusion.
Granted, he isn’t into the idea of fantasy as the others are, but if it’s what makes you happy, it wouldn’t hurt to learn a little about it.
Let’s you take him to conventions and helps you hold the bigger items you struggle with so you don’t drop everything.
Thinks you look amazing in full cosplay.
Lets you experiment on him from time to time.
You get him in some makeup, contacts and give him a prosthetic piece to put over his head.
He thinks he looks pretty good. Might consider trying it again sometime.
He’ll be shopping online and see something.
“Isn’t that from y/n’s favourite..?”
Buys it and surprises you the next time you have a date together.
“Oh? When did you get this? I love it”
“Ah, you know~ I was browsing and it reminded me of you.”
Ends up seeing you take it everywhere
Smiles to himself each time and refuses to tell you why.
Out of all the merch you own, you take the one he bought you with you everywhere
He’s touched.
Doesn’t always pay 100% attention when you’re watching tv together, but enough that he’s aware of the plot line, but not the finer details.
You may not have convinced him to be a fan, but you have turned your boyfriend into a casual watcher.

liveblog: kingsglaive final fantasy xv
some absolute king put the movie to the internet archive - thank you. of course, i hope i'm watching the right thing haha.
regis honestly just so -chefs kiss-
it's crazy how long the wall around Insomnia was up
love when the niffs fuck up a royal gathering
young ravus! love it
ravus yelling for regis to help them :(
wow this flashback is different than the one in the anime
luna's clothes are different
but the acitons are te same
so not that different
getting some lotr the two towers vibes from this battle scene and i'm here fo it
and i LOVE this dude's invisible power nice
nyx's voice sounds so familiar!
nyx: i'm worth the wait
loving him already
but i'm liking seeing the way all these warriors are interacting with each other. can definitely tell they've spent plenty of time in each other's pockets
oh the cerberus!! i really liked that entrance
oh wait, no, what fun daemon is this?????
in love with the way nyx is using the warp
now i can ask the question: where the fuck are they? clearly not in insomnia, unless this is set during noctis' rest? but it can't be since this is 12 yrs after lunafreya became a prisoner...
hm, it'll get explained to me
nyx is nothing without the king. please remember that nyx
hm, yes, we love king regis
an envoy from niflheim????
oh it's ardyn!!!!!
god, yes, yes, yes, we love ardyn
oh he's delicious i loe his grandstanding
oh he mentioned noctis, that's a no-no
oh??? ardyn proposed noctis and lunafreya to get married??
oh this is so fucking great wow thank you ardyn
hm so this one insomnia soldier doesn't like nyx, how nice
oh shit night life in insomnia??
whatever the music is is banging
i missed his name but the dude makes sense
but where did these kingsglaive soldiers come from if they're outsiders?
i love a strategic meeting
especially because of how you can see regis actually tremble from weakness
also, gotta say, it's amazing that regis has the strength to support the wall and the kingsglaive
hm regis accepted the truce
hm
who the hell is clarus?? i know who he is, but more like where is he, so who is he in regis' little posse
commencing operation: infiltrate tenebrae
lunafreya looks GREAT
oh hello ravus
"whatt you believe does not concern me"
god, knowing what i know about ravus, it must've hurt him hearing his own sister call him a lap dog to the empire
they have cartoons????
going back a bit, wonder what was up with the van that crow saw. bit suspicious
mm what a sexy car
i fucking KNEW it was an audi
"what good will you be without the king's magic?"
oh that IS clarus okay
yo they really just came in and said "we'll take lunafreya thanks"
hm.. i have suspicious feelings about lunafreya
like maybe she's ardyn??
"my duty is my destiny, your majesty. i'm prepared to accept whatever my come to pass"
goddamn
oh so crow's defintiely dead
i keep missing his name, but this dude is so torn up over crow's death he ripped off the kingsglaive insignia
hm, so the dude is going rougue, and wow, that was overheard by three other glaives
eve of the signing ceremony...
doesn't that mean that noctis and co have left already, actually?
yes, it must, because regis wanted freya to meet noctis
so, yes, the freya in insomnia is absolutely... not ardyn
hm
crutch dude has now joined a rebel group - i just hope he did some vetting and isn't about to talk to niffs
who is that general in the armor?? hm, interesting
oof nyx with that round bubble butt
lunafreya is missing, how nice and convenient when the treaty signing is about the happen
regis ordered the kingsglaive to go save lunafreya, nice
god, one of regis's last acts as king :(
"for hearth" "and home"
that's actually a nice call and response
god, i'd love to be a legilimens so i could read regis' thoughts. he must know what this is probably gonna be his last day on eos
the hoods are very asassin's creed and i like that inspiration
hm what fun whisper was that to the niff ambassador
oh wait that dude is the niff emperor my bad
hm, yes, we love double talk
mm sexy kills yes
god, yes, the game's afoot!
octopus in teh airship? kinky
we love traitors
oh wow the crystal has been deactivated :(
honestly though, humungous props to niflheim for diong this. like this is a BRILLIANT politcal move, it really is
yes we fucking love regis and clarus fighting together!!
"then let us once more into the fray, old friend"
WE ARE HERE FOR THAT!!!
so sad the outcome though :(
ouch, clarus!!
"we have broken the wall. all that remains is the break the city"
100% correct emperor
nyx is so exasperated by lunafreya
yeah this dude in the vest - like he thought he was gonna somehow be great under niff rule??
oh hello there ravus
ravus put on the ring and, hm, he wasn't found worhty
nyx is fighting the super souped up general
and it JUST occured to me that the reason why nyx sparks when he uses magic is because it's not his
so this is how luna got the ring okay
we love parallels
regis's last stand :(
:'(
oh so the crutch dude didn't do any vetting at all because he only found out that the other refugees were working with niflheim
slacking bro
but, now yo can do what you want and bring refugees into the city
idk why any one would that that niff would keep its word, but that's besides the point
hm, no airbags?
"true power is not something that is found by those who seek it. it is something that is found by those who deserve it."
crutch dude being called 'hero' = irony
haha this traitor put the ring on, idiot.
though lunafreya baited him a bit but i support that
wow this ring got passed around like a hot potato
I WANT TO KNOW THE CONVERSATINO IGNIS HAD WITH THE LUCII KINGS!!!!!!!
nyx has been found wothy - until dawn
crutch dude's name is libertus
libertus threw away the pills, good job!
oh ehll yea the statues are moving!! i iked seeing that in thhe game
caught way caught up in watching the movvie
i absolutely loved the fighting. all the moving parts were done amazingly well and the effects and graphics were stunning
honestly a great fight. truly enjoyed that.
though, both libertus and luna know what nys is definitely come with morning's light, it's nice of them to be optimistic
luna doesn't fit in with the other people but separate paths yes
okay nyx was aaron paul, regis was sean bean
i knew nyx's voice was familiar
what a good movie! i really enjoyed that
love that it helps flesh out what happened prior to signing day, and also showed us how good the kingsglaives are in combat
i liked that everything was so tense and there weren't too many motivations for why people turned traitor or fighting - everything came down to fighting for home (minus niff as a whole but that's an empire so given)
also, liked seeing how the ring got passed around, and seeing ravus try it on, though it was told to us in game he had
overall, good! the backstory provided was great and really does help develop the game more

A very confused Star Wars Fan desperately tries to justify their belief that “Caravan of Courage” shows the way forward for the franchise. No, really.
Ever since I was a little kid, I’ve loved Star Wars. And I mean, all of it. The books, the games, the Lego, the spin-offs: I even enjoy the Holiday Special in a The Room so-bad-you-just-need-to-see-it sort of way.  But particularly the films. But here is when we run into the big problem: I’m just the wrong age. The original trilogy launched before I was born, the prequel trilogy hit cinemas when I was already a teen and while I went and saw them and enjoyed them, I was at that age where I was self-conscious about seeing a “kids” film, and hyper-aware of how silly and cringy those films were in parts. So my indoctrination, my inoculation with the Star Wars bug didn’t happen in the cinema, and it didn’t happen with any of the main franchise works. It happened on home video, on a skiing trip in the French Alps in the early 90’s. I’d have been about 6, and this was the first time I’d ever been abroad other than to see relatives in Ireland.  And I loved it: to this day I love skiing, but more than that, I have very, very fond childhood memories of this trip. This was shortly before I lost my biological mother to cancer, she’d have received her diagnosis just after we got back from the trip. This was when my younger sister stopped being an annoying screaming thing and became and became an actual person I could talk and play and share ideas with, this was before the combination my mothers long illness and my father having just launched his own IT start up meant I didn’t see him or her any more, despite the fact they were in the same house as me. This was this wonderful, nostalgic child-hood bubble when my family was intact, and nothing could ever go wrong. I skied all day with mum and dad, and would come back to the chalet in the evening. It was an English speaking chalet, I met my first real-life American there, and having grown up in the 90’s in the UK nothing was cooler than making friends with an actual American my own age. He had a hulk Hogan action figure with springs in the legs so if you put him on a hard surface and punched his head down, when you let go he’d jump really high in the air. We used to play with it together in the bath, back in that weird 90’s time-bubble when it was possible to convince two sets of parents that this kid you’d just met was you best friend in the world and of course shared bath time was, somehow, normal and appropriate. And fresh from bath time, tired from the day, the parents would give us some hot coco, dump us kids in front of the tv and grab the first shitty low-budget VHS they could find to keep us distracted while they went to the bar. In this particular time, in this particular place, that shitty low budget cartoon was the  complete set of the 1985 Lucasfilm/ABC Ewoks cartoon, plus the two spin off movies, and to this day that cheap, kitschy, kind of bad series has a special warm and cosy place in my heart. I remember being enthralled by the world, in love with the characters, applied by the bad guys and the injustice they caused (to this day I’m still irate about that time Wicket lost his set of beads documenting his progress towards becoming a full warrior and the older Ewoks basically said, tough, you need to re-earn all those merit badges from scratch. This struck me as exactly the sort of bullshit an adult would pull, and pissed me off) and on tenterhooks about what would happen to the characters.
It was also, by a coincidence, the first ever Star Wars media I was exposed to, and the above combination of events probably explains a lot about me.
So I was surprised, the other day, when scrolling Disney+, to find they’d added Caravan of Courage AND Battle for Endor to the roster in my region. Surely Disney wouldn’t want their slick, cool brand associated with this old trash? Surely there could be no place for this in the post-Mandalorian Star Wars cannon? Surely this is a horrible mistake some intern made, right?
Unless…. What if I’ve miss-remembered? What if it’s not just rose-tinted nostalgia goggles, and it’s, in fact, secretly really, really good?
I rushed to my comfy chair, got a blanket, dimmed the lights, made some coco (with rum in it, because why the hell not?) and sat down to re-examine this lost gem.
And wow: it’s every bit as shit as you’d expect.
It has aged exactly as poorly as you’d expect a cheap, mid 80’s direct to video spin-off to age. Caravan of Courage? More like Caravan of Garbage, am I right?
And yet… I still enjoyed every moment.
And it was sitting there, in my pyjamas, watching a cheaply made direct to video cash-grab from just before I was born, seeing it again for the first time in nearly 30 years, and I realised something.
It doesn’t really matter if this film is bad, so long as I enjoy it. And if it doesn’t really mater if this is bad, then I, like many Star Wars fans, wasted a huge amount of time and emotional effort on being butthurt about stuff I didn’t like about the Rise of Skywalker and it’s ilk. Because somewhere, right now, a tired and frustrated parent is putting Disney+ on to keep their kids quiet for two hours. And they won’t think too hard about what they put on, so long as it keeps little Timmy busy for a bit. Somewhere, right now, a kid is watching Rise of Skywalker, and it’s the first Star Wars media they’ve ever seen.
And that’s okay. Because we don’t know what that kids home life is like. We don’t know if it’s good or bad. Maybe it’s great, maybe it’s about to take a dramatic plunge like mine did, and this moment here will be the cosy, warm memory they look back on in 30 years time, and that’s beautiful.  They’re getting introduced to a fun, wonderful fantasy world that could be with them all their lives, through good times and bad, and as fans we should be happy about that.
Star Wars will never, die: it’s too darn profitable, Disney will never let it. And while I hope they learn from their mistakes and make sure every future Star Wars is a timeless gem of story-telling, statistically, if you keep making enough films, some of them will be bad. And while I’d like them all to be great, it’s still okay if they’re bad.
Because nothing can take away my memories of that week in that chalet. Nothing can take-away my memories of when they put the original trilogy on in cinemas for the special edition and I had my jaw hit the floor with how good it was on the big screen, not knowing or caring who shot first. Nothing can take away you memories of the Original Trilogy, the Prequels, or the Clone Wars. Nothing can tarnish the bits of the sequil trilogy that you like, and there are good bits in there.
But wait, what about continuity? What about the sacred, perfect written time-line that used to exist?
Well, what about it? Have you seen any other big, epic fantasy universe before? They’re all a mess. A work of fiction, particularly fantasy, can be extensive, or tightly written, but not both. Harry Potter is only seven books, and the last two feel, tonally, like they’re from an entirely different series. I love them, but the grim-dark kicked in so fast you’ll get whiplash. The Hobbit is a perfect written self-contained novel, and LOTR is *The* big boy high-fantasy trilogy: fast forward 50 years, and Christopher Tolkien is desperately squeezing every last drop of money out of his father’s corpse by finishing and publishing every unfinished note JRR ever wrote right down to his shopping lists. Even Dune goes of the rails with sequels. I can only think of four fantasy works that are both extensive and consistently tightly written, Song of Ice and Fire, Wheel of Time, Malazan: Book of the Fallen and Brandon Sanderson’s Cosmere universe. And even then, the prequels and spin-offs mess with the timelines: the Dunk and Egg novella’s change some character’s canonical ages and timelines, Wheel of Time was going slowly off the rails even before the Jordan died, Forge of Darkness made what was a good metaphor for the creation of it’s world into a literal war deep in the past, and Sanderson’s first Novel Elantris got a re-write to bring it more in line with the rest of the shared universe. The MCU, oft held up as the modern example of tightly planned, well thought out ongoing storytelling, is a lie: it was never as pre-planned out as Disney wants us to think; the first Iron Man, apparently, barely had a script, with Downey ad-lib-ing most of his scenes. None of the MCU films are direct sequels to each-other other than Infinity war and Endgame. There are three Iron Man films, and Three Thor films, and none continue an ongoing story line across multiple films, and the Cap films barely continue an arc, but only where Cap’s relationship with Natasha and Bucky is involved.  Much like these, Star War’s cannon is a complete, nightmarish, confusing, tangled, illogical mess. And it has been since 1984, as Caravan of Courage proves. It was never consistent and well planned.
And that’s okay.
I used to care about plot holes. I used to care about which works were cannon in Star Wars lore. I’m over that now. I’m happy to imagine the books, films and games not as a blow-by-blow historical account of a galaxy far far away, but as campfire stories from within this fun, imaginative world that we’re all invited to listen to. Stories that are in-universe myth and folklore, that we can all snuggle up and listen to while drinking highly alcoholic rum and remembering better times, knowing that wherever the future throws at us, no matter how the world goes to hell around us, we’ll still have the memories, and the ability to make our own new stories in the wonderful Star Wars world we all share.
And that’s okay. No, more than that: that’s beautiful.
Also Star Wars is completely unambiguous on the fact we’re allowed to kill fascists no matter how many times they keep coming back with a new logo, so that’s timely I guess.
So, there’s my hot take two-years after everyone else stopped caring about this stuff, as per bloody usual. Tell me why I’m wrong below, and does anyone else have any truly awful spin-off shows that they kind of have a nostalgic soft spot for?

Rewatching JJ Abrams Star Trek trilogy
First some context. I am not a hardcore Trekkie. I have seen some of the older Star Trek shows but I have genuinely never followed Star Trek until the first movie of the trilogy came out, which led me to Star Trek: Discovery and Picard that I do follow.
That may give you a context to why I unabashedly love this trilogy. I think its genuinely one of the more consistently entertaining trilogies in the new millennium. While I obviously don’t put it on the same pedestal as TDK trilogy or LOTR trilogy, its just a genuinely fun, fast paced, and well cast trilogy.
Star Trek (2009) is just a genuine blast. I think the movie is near perfectly paced because it starts with a bang and never lets up. It also does a pretty good job of setting up Kirk and Spock as the two leads and then gradually assembles the supporting cast over the course of the movie. I think the pace is key to this film’s enjoyment. Its not a particularly deep movie and doesn’t have a ton of big character moments, but the humor and action in the film genuinely work. The cast works big time. Certainly Pine was instantly appealing. I had seen in him in maybe a couple of rom coms prior to this but he was an instant hit for me here. Lot of natural charisma and comic timing. Quinto is also excellent in this movie as Spock and he has a very tricky tightrope to balance to show emotion without showing too much emotion. Karl Urban as McCoy is hilarious and an instant scene stealer. The rest of the cast including Zoe Saldana, Simon Pegg, Jon Cho, and Anton Yelchin are all instantly appealing though the film is firmly focused on Kirk and Spock so these characters don’t get a whole lot of depth. I will say that Bana as Nero was probably the weakest of the villains in this trilogy, but that has a lot to do with the film being very focused on introduction to the heroes. Bruce Greenwood as Pike was a very welcoming steady presence. Nimoy as Spock Prime is a delight. Even with my sparse background of Star Trek before this movie, it was lovely to see him and he certainly has a few good scenes with Pine, Pegg, and Quinto. All in all a really strong starter to this series. An 8/10.
Star Trek Into Darkness is understandably the most controversial of the series. I had not seen Wrath of Khan when I first saw this movie. Its kind of a tricky thing this film does. Its both trying to be and not trying to be Wrath of Khan at the same time and the comparisons were inevitable. However, irrespective of comparisons, I still really like the film. The pace of this film is not nearly as smooth but the film has a lot more character moments and the ensemble gets more opportunities to step up. Now, I get that have Benedict Cumberbatch playing a character called Khan Noonien Singh might raise a few eyebrows, but he elevates this film so much. This was at the height of Sherlock popularity, when the the first two beloved seasons had released and everyone was going crazy over him, for good reason, and in all honesty he is worth every penny in the movie, chewing scenery with great gusto. Its a pity that advertising spoilt almost every scene he was in, but all his scenes are terrific. Chris Pine also showed much greater depth in his performance, delivering big time on a lot of dramatic moments while continuing to have impeccable comic timing when required. Quinto has comparatively less to do here than in the first film but he steps up during the climax. Zoe Saldana, Jon Cho, and Simon Pegg definitely get more scope here to deliver. All the other returning cast, like Karl Urban and Bruce Greenwood continued to be excellent. Alice Eve and Peter Weller are pretty good as Carol and Admiral Marcus. The action in the film is still pretty entertaining. The dramatic moments in the films work and the film does a nice job of showing the new dynamic between Kirk and Spock. The Spock and Uhura romance also ended up being a lot more enjoyable than I thought it would be. Some of the Wrath of Khan references are a little clumsy and there a few points in the movie where the film drags a little, and certainly the superblood being a cure for death was kind of silly and should have been a much bigger deal, but overall, I still found the film enormously entertaining. An 8/10
Star Trek Beyond is maybe the most Trekkie of the films. I mean, I haven’t even watched a whole lot of the original show and even I have seen episodes where the crew has similar adventures. The strength of this film really lies in the character dynamics. The film splits up the enterprise crew into a few different groups, with Uhura and Sulu together, Kirk and Chekhov together, McCoy and Spock together, and Scotty with newcomer Jaylah. All of these duos work well together. The film is again well paced so its never boring and certainly it has the most entertaining action sequence of the series in the Sabotage sequence. That was silly but damn entertaining. The film also does well to take a breath and give the characters a moment of two to shine. Certainly the scenes between Quinto and Urban are excellent with Urban probably getting the most scope he has gotten in the series. There is also a wonderful moment with him and Pine towards the beginning of the film which really brings home the friendship between them. Pine again is fantastic. Delivering a more weary and weathered performance. I like that the film doesn’t hesitate in bruising him up. He ends the film with a big bruise over his eye. That’s actually one of the things that I love about Kirk’s character over the series. He is not portrayed as this invulnerable action hero. In fact, he gets his ass handed to him constantly throughout the series and symbolically it works that he wins his first fight during the climax of this movie. I liked the mentor/mentee dynamic with Yelchin’s Chekhov. Simon Pegg in this film is a delight. I really enjoy that he fully embraces the character’s scottishness. Jaylah is also a pretty badass character and Sofia Boutella does a really good job emoting through that makeup. Chu, Saldana, Quinto, and yelchin are all first rate. Idris Elba is excellent as Krall. The one things I would hold against the movie is it makes its twist reveal a bit too late to have impact. The film didn’t really need this to be a twist reveal. I think they missed an opportunity to make the villain a lot more heartbreaking. As it stands, it works well enough, but it could have been the best villain is they had given the character reveal earlier and then given the motivations more depth. I also think the tribute to Nemoy after his passing was handled in a lovely manner in film. They handled it in a way where it added something to the character of Spock and the decisions he makes. While the film’s plot is nothing new, it does its characters well enough and the pace and the action continues to be a ton of fun. An 8/10
I do think fans are a bit to harsh on this series at times. I know knocking on J.J. Abrams is common for fans of series which have the words “Star” in it. I certainly think this series kept the brand of Star Trek alive for new fans. I certainly would not have gone on to see Discovery and Picard if I hadn’t seen these movies. So I do think the movies deserve that credit, regardless of what you feel about the quality. I think Justin Lin took on the directing role for Beyond very smoothly and its a shame we won’t get more from this series because this cast was very appealing. But in a way the series ending as a trilogy seems appropriate. I feel the trilogy did end up having a very full character arc for Kirk, who went from cocksure and overconfident Captain in 2009, to a humbling and learning self sacrifice in Into Darkness, to becoming a senior mentor figure in Beyond. Its a damn good character arc in my opinion. Also, it would have sucked to continue the series without Yelchin, who was kind of the baby of this group. So in a way its poetic for this series to end with the whole core group still in tact.

Oh, brother
Tumblr media
for the request: Galadriel and her brothers
Summary: Galadriel’s surprise birthday bash! Modern AU
Characters: Galadriel x Celeborn, a whole lot of Silmarillion and LOTR elves :D
Word Count: 1.9k
Warnings: none really, family fluff, annoying older brothers. a whole lot of blondes.
If there was one thing Galadriel couldn’t stand, it’s surprises. She likes to know when things happen and have everything planned out. If she had the choice to foresee the future, she totally would.
But Celeborn wasn’t like his wife. And he really couldn’t refuse three ruthless blondes from barging into his home to throw a surprise birthday party for Galadriel, their baby sister. They would’ve broken the door down anyways.
It was a weekday, so of course Galadriel was working. Celeborn had taken the day off to pick up the cake that Galadriel had chosen for herself, and pick Celebrian up earlier than usual from school to help get a few decorations. The decor included a handful of balloons, and some party hats, which were mostly for their daughter than for Galadriel herself.
The door practically shook in its hinges at the sudden knock later that afternoon, making Celeborn jump. If it had been Galadriel, he would have been worried, but she had said she was working late. So who on earth...
“Celebooooooorn!”
“Oh... great.” Celeborn sighed and cursed internally. He set his laptop aside next to where Celebrian was colouring and hurried to the door, bracing himself.
“Is that Uncle Angrod?”
“Sadly.. yes,” Celeborn grumbled. He opened up and nearly fell back at the sight of three grinning faces. They were carrying large plastic bags and a few gift bags, and he immediately regretted opening the door.
They pushed inside, with Celebrian jumping into one of her uncles’ arms without any preamble, and Celeborn had a looming sense of dread about why they had shown up randomly at their home.
Finrod was the eldest, and the more approachable of the three. He explained their plans to set up a surprise party.
“You know she hates surprise parties! The actual birthday dinner is this weekend, you know that!”
“Yes, yes, we know, but we figured we’d do something different this time.”
“Why?!”
“Galadriel works wayyy too much, Celeborn,” Aegnor huffed, flopping down on their couch. His blonde mullet was sleek and straight, and Celeborn caught a section of pure white that shot through one side of his hairdo. Another last-minute dye job, no doubt. “You both work way too much. If you’re not going to do anything about it, then we will.”
“She’ll kill us all.”
“Yeah, that’s fine. Come on, help me with the disco ball.”
“The disco ball?!”
-
Galadriel knew what was going to happen the minute she pulled up to her home. If the half a dozen extra cars in the street didn’t say anything, the flashing lights from the living room window gave enough away. She sat inside her car, genuinely debating if she should speed away and just come back in the morning, leaving Celeborn to deal with the aftermath of what looked like an attempt at some sort of party.
But then she remembered her chosen cake and pursed her lips in defiance. She had been very excited to eat it, and curl up with her own  family to just watch a silly movie the rest of the night. She’d find a way to enjoy her birthday, even with her nagging extended family.
But the first person who greeted her at the door wasn’t her husband or any of her relatives. It was Gandalf, with a butterfly painted on his cheek and a top hat on his head. He had a juice box in hand and pulled her into a hug when he saw her in the hallway.
“Happy birthday, dear friend!”
“Oh, Gandalf. What have you done?”
“For once, this idea wasn’t mine. I was simply invited.”
“I’m sure you arrived on time.”
“I always do!”
He promised there’d be no fireworks this time; when he had set off his pyromaniacal schemes last, poor Radagast’s hedges and flowerbeds had burned to a crisp.
In the kitchen, Celeborn was nursing a wine glass filled with apple juice. Galadriel didn’t see any alcohol opened anywhere, which did help relieve her stress. He saw her come in and his face scrunched up in an apologetic expression, and it made her laugh.
“My love.. I’m so sorry-”
“Don’t start, Celeborn. What’s done is done. I suppose I’ll be forced to enjoy my birthday now?”
He grimaced and sipped his drink a little more. “If it helps, Celebrian is enjoying herself immensely.”
“Oh, is that right?”
“Orodreth is here. I promise everything is family-friendly, even if it is a little... wild.”
“Was the disco ball Aegnor’s idea?”
“Yes.”
“Of course.”
Galadriel’s siblings were all successful, hard-working people. At least, when they were on their own. Once you put the three brothers together, all hell would break loose. Despite their sheer differences, they were able to put things together and become a team. Often to the dismay of their younger sister who had to endure the torture.
Finrod was the eldest, and therefore the most responsible. He was a successful CEO who took his time to travel and explore every corner of the world. He was stern-faced, and defiantly defensive of his family and his life choices.
Angrod was the middle brother, and the most outlandish. His passion could lead to anger very quickly, but it made him the most emotionally expressive. His son was practically the sheer opposite of him. Orodreth was a little older than Celebrian, and very soft-spoken and quiet. He was incredibly gifted and intellectual, but you would never be able to read his face and discern that yourself.
And Aegnor was the unhinged youngest brother. As an artist and creative thinker, he explored one medium of art to the next. Galadriel believed he had a lot of potential, and being the two youngest they bonded and got along very well. But she had no idea where his life would lead him. One week it would be pottery, the other it would become architecture. But he was kind and encouraging, which made him the most favourable to babysit Celebrian out of the three uncles.
But once put together, all precedented rules of their characters went out the window.
Eldalote was in the bathroom giving people painted faces, and Galadriel assumed that was where Gandalf got his colourful butterfly. She knocked on the door and came in on Orodreth getting a big fish painted on his forehead. Her daughter was watching diligently next to her aunt as she painted. She had a large flower and heart on one cheek, and a party hat tied snugly on her head.
The minute she saw her mother she squealed and ran into her arms. Galadriel picked her up swiftly, and suddenly felt she  couldn’t be mad at her brothers anymore. Nor could she be mad about them getting ahead of themselves and starting the party before she got home. It made it easier to blend in rather than have all the focus on her as soon as she had opened the door.
“Hello, sweetheart,” she nuzzled her daughter’s unpainted cheek who began babbling about the party thus far. Orodreth said a shy hello and wished her a happy birthday. Galadriel wondered how her idiot, reckless brother had ended up with such a diligent and sweet son. Nonetheless, she gave him a hug before Celebrian tugged her back to the living room, where the main socializing seemed to be happening.
The three elder brothers were plotting in a huddled group near the disco ball, and as soon as they saw Galadriel, they swarmed her. Aegnor set Celebrian on his hip, and Celeborn rushed to Galadriel’s side, still looking a little forlorn and guilty for letting the party get so rowdy.
“Sister! Happy fucking-”
“Hey! There’s kids.”
“Sorry. Happy freaking birthday, sis. Do you like our party?”
“I hate it.” Galadriel crossed her arms, but her eyes were twinkling. “You know how I hate surprises.”
“Hey, that’s why we’re not giving you a speech, alright? You should thank me.” Aegnor bumped Finrod with his fist. “Fin was planning on drawling on for forever if we hadn’t stopped him.”
“Yeah, yeah,” Finrod rolled his eyes, but he gave Galadriel a quick side hug. “We know you never celebrate yourself, Galadriel. So this is for you. We practically had to tie down your husband to let us decorate.”
“I mean, clearly.” Galadriel looked at the overwhelming amount of  paper decorations and bright balloons. “He’d never allow it to look so hideous if he could help it.”
“You wound me, sister,” Angrod clutched his chest.
“Your cake remains untouched though,” Celeborn pointed out. “That’s the one thing I was able to protect. The rest of the house.. not so much.”
“Oh, well I suppose that’s alright,” Galadriel sighed. She watched the small group of friends and other people in her life gather in the living room and other spots in the house. The music was cheery but not blaring. And from the looks of it.. people brought their own dinner items, like an impromptu potluck.
Elwing and Earendil came over to greet Galadriel with happy smiles and a congratulations. The couple were constantly glued to each others’ side, and Galadriel was glad to have another set of seemingly sane parents in their social circle.
Their twins, Elros and Elrond, were sprawled out on the carpet with Lego and toy cars. Elrond’s face had been smeared with cupcake icing that he had scarfed down, and Galadriel watched, amused, as her daughter went over to him, tutting like she often would. She had a napkin in hand and proceeded to wipe his face, effectively smearing the icing even further onto his cheeks.
The sight made her chuckle, and the initial stress she had seemed to finally leave. She supposed she could enjoy as much of it as possible.
“To be fair, this party is looking to be the best I’ve ever had.” She looked around, slipping her hand into Celeborn’s. “Food I don’t have to pay for. No idiot college friends or condescending relatives. Kids who are actually enjoying themselves? I’d rank this in the top five, boys.”
“Then our work here is done!” Aegnor declared, bouncing Celebrian who giggled happily in his arms. “Now let’s get that cake.”
“Nuh-uh,” Galadriel wagged a finger at him. “That’s for me and my family alone. There’s enough food for you behind you. Go on, you swine.”
Aegnor stuck out his tongue, and she swatted him. He went off to explore the dishes that were laid out on the dining table. So did the rest of the group; going to get their faces painted or wolf down whatever fatty snacks were in reach. Galadriel turned to her husband and gave him a firm kiss.
“I’m sorry I couldn’t defend our fortress, my lady,” he sighed. She rolled her eyes.
“It’s quite alright. I’m not angry. Maybe because I was met with a very gleeful Gandalf at the door rather than my overbearing siblings. Besides, we didn’t even have to cook.”
He laughed. “I knew that would be the thing to win you over.”
A/N: I love these guys ;-; This is my character interpretation of Galadriel’s brothers/family in a modern AU. I posted this out of order for CB’s birthday- I finished it over a week ago but then I realized how close it was to the 14th so I just waited! I hope you enjoy my loves
