It's really stupid that many EO fans are making a big deal of Rollins coming back at the start of the season.

Like, both shows could have explored more on EO at the start of 2023. But they didn't. Only thing was that one scene before the crossover event started. That's not Rollins' fault.

So I see no reason to blame her for delaying EO. It's not her fault the producers wanna keep baiting EO longer.

I think they're frustrated, but it is very much misplaced blame.

Ultimately, Dick Wolf will be the decision maker re: EO. Rollisi are more "B" couple territory and the writers probably had a lot more freedom to get them together. The B couple always move faster than the A couple in every single show, because the stakes are lower.

It's easy to feel resentful because we "got it all". I won't get into the sheer amount of Rollisi development that happened off screen, but from their persepctive, Rollins is getting scenes they think Liv should have. The bigger problem last season (but also in s22/23) was the amount of screentime wasted on music video montages and introspective thoughts of perpetrators and trauma porn showing the crimes. They would have the space for both Rollins and Liv to have those kind of scenes if they went back to a) not showing the crimes and b) not taking 5-10 minutes to bring in existing characters at the start of every episode.

Not to mention, the only person Liv has had meaningful conversations about Elliot with is Amanda. She might as well have been talking to a wall the back half of s24.

I understand why they're upset, but Rollins isn't taking anything away, she's adding. Also, Mariska and Kelli are clearly thrilled to be back filming together - Mariska probably pushed for her to come back - as they're so fond of saying she decides.

Parahumans: A Measured Response

“Hey, L, you’ve got to see this!” Alec called, and Lisa groaned.

“Is this going to be you doing another headshot?” she asked.

“No, no, this genuinely is a big deal,” Alec replied. “It’s a big long video explainer thing, and, uh… I’m like five minutes in and this sounds like a big deal.”

“Fine, fine, whatever,” Lisa decided, thinking about the work she’d been doing for the Boss and how it really could wait for a bit.

Fuck him, anyway.

Besides, if it was some kind of big video explainer, she could get a fun few minutes out of taking it apart.

She locked her laptop and went through into Alec’s room, where he had his own computer on and was scrubbing back through a video.

“Okay, here we go,” Alec said. “It’s past the titles and stuff, this is where the first section starts.”

Lisa glanced down at the video scrollbar, and blinked.

“...Alec, this video is five hours long,” she said.

“Yeah, he’s outdone himself this time I guess,” Alec replied. “But the last one was, like, a hundred and ten minutes about autism and vaccines or something, so this isn’t that long in comparison.”

“It really is,” Lisa muttered, rolling her eyes. “Okay, let’s see if this is worth anything.”

Alec hit the spacebar, and the video began to play.

“Part one,” a British voice said, over a title card. “How do Tinker powers work. Spoilers: They don’t!”

Lisa blinked.

“Is this a conspiracy theory thing?” she asked.

“Shush,” Alec advised her, politely.

“I know, that’s going to immediately make me sound like I’m completely crazy,” the video creator went on. “How can Tinker powers not work when they clearly do? Well, that’s the thing, because Tinker powers are supposed to be about technology, but it’s been clearly and repeatably recorded in experiments going back decades that the technology Tinkers build only works when they build it.”

He threw up his hands, waving a sheaf of paper. “And I was as skeptical about this as you probably are, but I actually looked at the studies. The first one is by the British government, which did it in partnership with Oxford university, and – I know, but, listen, they sometimes do good research besides just coincidentally having one of their literature professors accidentally invent an entire genre…”

Lisa glanced down at the video bar again, which had barely moved, then frowned.

Her power hadn’t given her anything.

Well? She thought, gingerly poking the part of her brain that usually resulted in insights.

...section title is not incorrect, her power informed her, reluctantly.

“...Alec, what are the other section titles?” Lisa asked.

“You’re interested now, huh?” Alec asked, pausing the video, and showed the description.

“...part three: I might get black-ops’d for this,” Lisa repeated. “...the fuck? The leader of the PRT is a parahuman?”

Alexandria, her power stated.

“...fuck,” Lisa muttered. “Well, that’s not good… okay, unpause it, let’s see how bad this is going to get…”

Fortuna hit pause.

Two seconds later, the door opened, and Rebecca leaned in.

“What. The fuck?” she asked, then her gaze flicked to the screen of Fortuna’s computer. “Is that the video?”

“Yes,” Fortuna replied.

“How exactly could you let this happen?” Rebecca asked. “Have you seen what this video is about?”

“Yes,” Fortuna repeated. “The section titles make it quite obvious.”

“Yeah, the section titles make it obvious, all right,” Rebecca replied. “Section One: How do Tinker powers work, spoiler, they don’t. Section one point five, how does Dragon’s power work then. Section two: Wait, is Dragon an AI!?”

She pronounced the interrobang very well, and Fortuna looked up.

“Do you have a point?” she asked.

“Of course I have a point!” Rebecca said. “And I know you know that – you’re a precog, why are you asking?”

“Path to a productive end to the conversation,” Fortuna answered. “The next bit is that you continue listing off the section titles for rhetorical purposes.”

Rebecca’s eye twitched.

“Part two point five, why has nobody before figured out Dragon is an AI!?!?,” she recited, from memory, naturally. “With a bracketed subsection. We don’t count the Dragonslayers because they’re nutjobs. Part three: So I might get black-ops’d for this. Part three point five: Why has nobody before figured out the leader of the PRT is a parahuman? Part four: I absolutely will get black-ops’d for this.”

Rebecca paused, and glowered at Fortuna.

“Why was he even allowed to upload the video?” she asked. “Now that he’s uploaded it, then to… black-ops him is just going to make it obvious he was right.”

“Honestly I think it should be quite clear why by the time you reach the end of the video,” Fortuna replied, nodding at her screen, which showed that the pause bar was somewhere in the middle of section seven. “Though there may have been a flaw in Path To A Really Good Online Video.”

“You don’t say,” Rebecca muttered. “Didn’t it only come out half an hour ago?”

“Path to the Most Immediately Relevant Bits,” Fortuna answered, reasonably enough.

“You do realize he’s exposed us, though?” Rebecca went on. “Not just me, us. At least, I assume that’s why part five is called It’s a melting pot of every conspiracy, get it?”

Fortuna smiled, mysteriously.

“Stop it,” Rebecca grumbled. “And no, I’m not angry about part six, even though it’s called The Illuminati are really bad at conspiracies. Or part eight which is begging us to hire an eight year old as an advisor.”

“Part seven is actually the most relevant bit, for us,” Fortuna said. “So far he’s outlined three solutions to Scion which would be better than any plans we had before.”

Rebecca blinked.

“...are you sure?” she asked.

“That’s why part seven is called Apocalypse Soon,” Fortuna pointed out. “You should watch the video.”

“It’s five hours long,” Rebecca protested.

“Yes, which is why it’s fortunate that you’re going to have a lot of free time soon,” Fortuna replied.

I think this is my last post of 2024 so I just want to yap a bit hehe ~

I'm taking justtttttttt a little break from making HL fanart for a few days....but I will be responsive though, maybe abit late than usual 🫠 I still have lots of ideas but I have so limited time to do everything I want especially new year is coming and my managers are trying to get everything done within this week 😫 So I think I need to be refreshed a little bit and first of all finish my next Dota Tarot card which I've been painting for almost a week and it's still not even half way done hahahaaaa...

Oh and I've just purchased a new White Nights watercolor set (yet again 😅). Now I have 4 watahcolor brands (Holbein, Van Gogh, Gansai Tambi, White Nights) and a Himi Gouache 24 set. I think Gansai amazed me the most in term of quality and it's also the most expensive (but that's the only set I didn't buy but a gift from friend). I think I've become abit addictive haha, I've been thinking about buying another 112 Himi box but there's no way I can use all that paint and my desk is out of space already 😅

Last Sunday I went to a cosplay convention dressing as Lanfan in Fullmetal Alchemist, this is my 5th and last cosplay pj of this year and I'm so happy with the result 🥰 I'll update this year cosplay journey this year on Tumblr (if anyone interested 😀!!)

FF7 REBIRTH SPOILERS ft A THEORY OF MINE

"Emptiness"

I may be reading too deep into this but bear with me. Sephiroth doing his damned best to reinforce that Cloud is nothing, that everything he feels his fake, that he's a puppet pulled along by Sephiroth's strings with no real purpose of his own. "Your tears are empty" is a line that really stands out to me, because Sephiroth insinuates that Cloud isn't a person and has no true substance as an individual. He's a shell.

Then much later, in the dream-esque Sleeping Forest, Aerith wants to spend one of their final moments focusing on Cloud, focusing on "finding the real [him]". Then Cloud hands Holy to Aerith, and she gifts him the clear materia in return, presumably having taken up Holy before she leaves. Aerith theorised earlier in the game that Holy was probably powered by her memories and dreams, and having lost them to the Whispers, to fate, has rendered the materia useless.

Basically, Cloud aptly describes not-Holy with, "It looks empty".

An empty man holding onto an empty materia.

I don't know, man. The thing about being given an empty thing after being told and tortured with the idea that you yourself are an empty thing is getting to me.

Part 3 is most likely going to deal with the fallout of Cloud's broken psyche and piecing him back together to "find the real [him]". I'm theorising not-Holy is only restored once Cloud has finally figured out who he is and what he wants to do.

Because materia isn't just the crystallisation of mako and the Lifestream. It's the physical representation of hopes and dreams and desires. The Black Materia was created to deliver the Gi from their unending existence. The White Materia ensures the prayers of the planet are answered.

And now not-Holy belongs to Cloud, so that whatever he finds in himself will fuel not-Holy and provide it with new purpose, maybe even allow him to finally heal after over two decades of suffering, because as Aerith said, "it's about saving the world — and you"

Izumi: (I wondered how it was going to turn out when they told me they wanted to do a play. But even though it was short, I’m glad it conveyed a strong message.) (Emotions become your strength. That’s certainly true. I’m sure everyone feels that way since they genuinely love acting)

Izumi: (Yep, it looks like the audience has cleared out. We should start cleaning up soon.) Come to think of it, I haven’t seen Masumi-kun and Sakyo-san’s team for a while now. Where could they be…?

Sakuya: We finished taking our pictures!

Misumi: Yep. Let’s post them on inste later~.

Azami: You sure they’re okay? Hisoka-san’s eyes are closed.

Hisoka: …It’s fine. That’s a kind of fanservice.

Azami: Are you being for real…

Izumi: Ah. Great job, all of you! I was wondering where you were, but I see you were taking pictures.

Sakuya: Yes!

Izumi: Hm? Masumi-kun and Sakyo-san aren’t with you?

Azami: Ah, right. I think those two are still in the building.

Izumi: Huh…!? (Bouquets of white roses… Does this mean I’m supposed to accept one of their bouquets? But…)

Masumi & Sakyo: “…”

Izumi: …I’m not going to choose yet. Sorry about that, boys.

Sakyo: Well, that’s what I figured you’d say.

Masumi: As expected.

Izumi: Huh? What do you mean…? And what was up with the bouquets?

Sakyo: These? They’re leftovers from the set we had. Throwin’ the roses away was a waste, so we took some of them and made them into bouquets. We could’ve just handed them to you, but we decided to act out an etude that fit us.

Izumi: I see. So that’s how this came about.

Sakyo: That’s how it is, so won’t you take it? If you don’t mind.

Izumi: Fufu. I’ll happily accept it in that case.

Masumi: Take mine too.

Izumi: Are you sure?

Masumi: Of course.

Izumi: Thank you! I’ll treasure them. I have to ask Tsumugi-san how to arrange them once we get home.

Shikhar Dhawan announced his retirement from all formats. Virat, Rohit, Jadeja have retired from t20s. Ishant Sharma is basically retired. Mahi the leader amd the captain left the international arena. Raina and Yuvi are gone. Bhuvi and Rahane's comeback looks impossible at this point. Ashwin is mostly a Test bowler now. The team that I've watched and loved since childhood, which made me fall in love with cricket has gradually left the game, leaving behind an incredible legacy and even better memories.
