In this house we stan Jedi Master Indara. She was absolutely on point in this episode, she was compassionate and gentle with the girls, she was so warm and friendly with Mae when she needed it, she was firm in how they couldn't overstep if the girls' mother didn't want them to leave, how they couldn't just barge into the witches' lives, she warned everyone to be cautious and that they were overstepping their bounds, she warned Sol to not confuse his own wants with Osha's wants, her ultimate priority was Osha's wellbeing in the end, that she was willing to not tell the full truth, even if it wouldn't have gotten them in that much trouble with the Council, it would have possibly crushed Osha's dream, so she made that hard choice, she came in like a goddamned wrecking ball when Kelnacca was under the witches' influence, there must have been at least twenty of them in his head, and JEDI MASTER INDARA TOLD THEM TO GET THE FUCK OUT and she blasted them the hell out of Kelnacca's mind BY HERSELF, she was right that they needed to be more careful, because she understood how things could go bad, she was teasing Sol and laughing with him about not having a Padawan yet, clearly it was a joke and used to lighten his mood, like Master Indara the Jedi that you are, we stan.

Star Wars discourse would be like ‘AITA for telling my roommate it’s cultural appropriation for him to have a Padawan Braid and that he needs to cut it off but he claims he can’t because his true master hasn’t decided it’s time yet and I asked him who his master was and he said it was a girl he met on Craig’s Space List who demands he pay 50 credits a week to send him his weekly training instructions and that soon he’ll be a Jedi knight???’ And the post-edit is OP saying the roommate got arrested for trying to rob a bank or something and he’s in an asylum ward now.
Anyways. Jedi Padawan 23M was an icon and we stan.

Arcane Episode 6 Immediate Thoughts
Spoilers
-Give me the doomed Jayvik content, I'm ready. Jayce is an off the wall murderer hell bent on destroying Arcane and Viktor is the new Herald of the Arcane.
-Viktor is a full on magical girl transformation dimension. The floating and glowing, start patterns, glowing hair.
-Huh
-So Viktor is straight up God?
-This Caitlyn training scene is dope
-OOOH they're gonna go to Viktor to cure Vander. Thats a cool way to tie all these stories together. I wonder if any of them will recognize Viktor. Did Caitlyn or Jayce tell Vi about him?
-Look at Jinx's face, she does not give a fuck about Vi and Hucks stand off.
-Man the council didn't know shit, Viktor should have been in charge this whole time.
-Man Jayce is gonna show up and destroy it. 🥺
-HAHAHAHAHA VIKTOR IS SO JESUS, the long hair, the robe, the staff.
-Viktor has his original eye color in the Hexcore universe.
-cookie
-Even Jinx knows Viktor is a straight up snack.
-Fortune cookies are canon? What Americanized Chinese food restaraunt is Jinx going to? Is there a Panda Express in Zaun?
-Viktors Steel Oasis is realized
-Oh hey it's the kind of plant that he experimented on the hexcore with
-So is this real Sky and we were all wrong in thinking the Hexcore was just using her image?
-Does this take several days? How long is it taking Jayce to come to the undercity? He seemed in a hurry when we last saw him.
-I don't care if these animatic style visuals are the result of a mismanaged budget. Arcane's 2d music video style visuals are so good when you aren't being told they are just for cost saving.
-"We"
-This is nice, this is what I wanted for Thor and Loki
-Singed has a Vander tracking compass. Like the Vampire compass in Vampire Diaries.
-Does Caitlyn know the Herald is Viktor? How will she react?
-Ooh the Singed-Viktor reunion!
-Why is Viktors voice more metallic than before?
-"Evolution has a destination" I mean technically no, you're a scientist Viktor c'mon. Thats a common misconception.
-GLORIOUS EVOLUTION MENTIONED
-And he had the voice distortion when he said it, this is the desire of the Hexcore not of him?
-Is Viktor dating a ghost?
-OH DAMN, the Caitvi reunion is a violent one. Not looking good for the Caitvi stans, or the future of this ship. They're doing a Catradora.
-Caitlyn is a dictator who is offended by being called a mongoose, and by her ex-gfs new style. Be glad she didn't get bangs Caitlyn.
-"Cupcake"
-Ambessa eating an entire raw meat hunk with her hands.
-Oh damn, the betrayal.
-HOLY SHIT JAYCE, ITS HAPPENING, IM NOT READY!
-The music, is this the start of the inevitable end of a three episode arc music montage fight scene that cuts between the plot points while a pop-rock song plays?
-SPIT ON HER
-Oh no, this is the sweet conversation that happens to make everything happy so they can rip it away by killing one of the characters isn't it? Is Isha gonna die soon?
-OH, the Caitvi reveal! Caitlyn did a good! Nice. All it took was to be in her ex-gfs presence one more time and she completely flipped. Poor Maddie.
-The blind fold is kinda kinky tbh
-is Caitlyn gonna see Jayce? Will they talk? Has Caitlyn seen Viktor?
-Now Jayce has a leg brace, my how the turn tables. I little ableist maybe that a leg brace is used to show who is powerless in the dynamic but still.
-I wish we knew more about what Jayce went through, or how long the time skip is, to have context. C'mon writers what was it?
-Once again Jayce is about to nuke a child with the Hex Hammer
-Is Jayce gonna come be healed?!
-The come to Jesus music when he goes to meet Viktor.
-Viktor is the Avatar, or a Jedi
-Caitlyn will be saved by Jinx! Will this cause another snap change in her alignment. Who knows!
-Its honestly shocking this is the first time someone has tried just grabbing her uber long hair in a fight.
-JAYCE NUKED VIKTOR!
-IS HE DEAD! MY BLORBO! JAYCE YOU BITCH!
-UNREAL
-Vander is crying lava?
-No Viktor Jayce is the reason your commune failed.
-Jinx crying on the floor after being struck by a loved one like when she was a child.
-Aw this is cute
-Isha better not die, don't you dare show. Don't you DARE.
-They did!
-They killed Viktor and Isha in one episode, Now Caitlyn is just chill with both Vi and Jinx, why. Awful. How dare they. First genuinely bad episode.
Final thoughts: AAAAAAAAAH! I'm actually mad. They killed Isha, they killed Viktor. Both in dumb and unnessecary ways. Jayce's motivations have not been explored in any depth or meaningful way this season which would justify the story move. I was fully ready to call this a flawed but good show till the second half of this episode. I think this arc release will genuinely divide the fandom. Beginning of the end. Oof. Sorry boys. Arcane is Fumbled.
Let me in the writers room, I just wanna talk.

We Stan supportive Dad Clones ✊
I love all your Dad!Clones drabbles have i told you that enough?? 😚
The whole premise behind these drabbles is "No clone baby will be anxious around their dad."
Cause, like, legit. My most vivid memory of my dad is him getting mad at me when I was ten for my room not being clean enough for him, and trashing my room and putting all of my stuff on the floor in the middle of the room.
Dad!Clones would never.
Anyway! Talking about my dad makes me sad, so let's have some Dad!Cody~
Cody is a single dad who adopts 3 siblings, who are war orphans. They are 6 years old, 3 years old, and 2 years old respectively.
The two older children are boys, and the youngest is a little girl.
All three of them end up with orange shirts that have the words "If lost, return to the 212" printed on them.
Cody's a busy man, but he always has time for his kids. Even if it means that the kids are in a debriefing with him, or if he's doing paperwork while spending time with them.
"These are MY kids-" Cody says. "You mean OUR kids, right Commander?" Waxer replies.
Unending line of enthusiastic babysitters in the form of the 212.
Cody makes sure that he gets one on one time with each of the kids. For the oldest one, that means going to the gym with him and teaching him how to throw a punch. For the middle one, it's sitting together and listening to him create stories from nothing. And for the baby it's as simple as cuddling her and reading a story to her.
Cody's the one who creates the Creche Babysitting Service. Which is a fancy way for saying that he drops his three kids off at the Jedi Creche, with them wearing ID bracelets identifying their names, ages, and his name, as well as what Battalion he belongs to.

"The Acolyte" is Cancelled
or
Why the Woke Controversy is Getting Ridiculous
In all honesty, I didn’t go crazy for The Acolyte. I found it rather mediocre. But I had already read and heard so much discussion and criticism about it, both from people who hate it and from the ones who liked it, before and after the second season was cancelled, that I watched it just in order to form my own opinion.
What’s Positive
The Acolyte is a series that doesn’t thrive on fanservice. Finally new characters, new perspective, no reference to characters or events from the classic movies. It’s not a great series, but at least it's something new and fresh.
It’s not a story of Good vs. Bad. Everybody is human and fallible. And people get to step into other people’s shoes instead of simply judging them - Mae putting on Osha’s clothes, Osha putting on Qimir’s helmet etc.
“The Force does not belong to the Jedi.” (Luke Skywalker in The Last Jedi)
Yes, some in the galaxy far, far away call it The Thread. And use it their own way. Both ways might be wrong. That’s what The Acolyte is about: Osha is raised by two very different mentalities and finds both don’t suit her, so she joins Qimir who is also looking to find his own path.
Tumblr media
The Controversy
No, the show is not perfect by a long shot, but everything I read and hear about how bad it is, how lesbians and diversity and wokeness are at the root of the problem is stupid.
1. The Acolyte is not about lesbians. The central relationships are a) between two sisters, b) a Jedi and his apprentice (father-daughter relationship) and c) a male and female former Jedi (erotic relationship? maybe? wasn’t made clear enough).
2. No one was gendered by Disney in Star Wars. Characters are heterosexual or you don’t find out if they have a sexuality at all because it doesn’t matter for the story. If Aniseya (the twin’s mother figure) and Mother Koril (the woman who bore them) are a couple, I noticed no love, partnership or erotic spark between them.
3. The two main characters of The Acolyte grow up in an all-female society, but that has nothing to do with the glorification of lesbians or hatred against men. The women distrust the Jedi because they want to take their daughters; they never say or show that they hate men. Also, the Jedi who want to take the girls include two female ones.
4. The Dathomir witches Asajj Ventres belonged to were an all-female, coven, too. Nothing new here. (In Dune we have the Bene Gesserit, also all female). No one called them a bunch of lesbians, to my knowledge.
5. The most impressive fighter and Force user in the entire show is Qimir aka the Stranger. A guy. We even got to see him naked. Yup, definitively a guy. Not a woman or anything in between.
6. I noticed nothing erotic (lesbian or otherwise) in the entire show. The only time we feel a little erotic spark is when Qimir openly flirts with Osha, i.e. a guy with a girl, and that isn’t even requited by her. Amandla Stenberg, the actress who portrays Osha and Mae, came out as non-binary, but that doesn’t mean anything in this connection because the two characters she plays aren’t (or if they are, it’s never said).
What Is Actually Behind It? The Usual Thing...
Jedi Stans
Many die-hard Star Wars fans are upset because the Jedi Knights have always been some sort of infallible superheroes to them. More recent productions show that the Jedi are actually the problem. George Lucas himself had already done that with the prequels; they weren’t as well received, but he was still the creator of the classic films, and at the time there was no social media, so the backlash wasn't as vicious as today.
Sol: “She was just a child.” The Stranger: “You brought her here.”
„The majority of my colleagues can’t imagine a galaxy without the Jedi. And I can understand why. When you’re looking up to heroes, you don’t have to face what’s right in front of you.“
„I think the Jedi are a massive system of unchecked power posing as a religion. A delusional cult that claims to control the uncontrollable. You project an image of goodness and restraint. But it’s only a matter of time before one of you snaps. And when, not if that happens, who will be strong enough to stop him?” (Senator Rayencourt to Master Vernestra)
It’s words like these, and the actions that prove them, that makes die-hard fans get out of their minds with rage. Because it’s the truth, a truth they have spent decades ignoring. Still in the classics, Obi-Wan and Yoda tried to manipulate Luke to push him to commit patricide. Ben Solo is what Luke would have become: a self-loathing patricide burning in an inner hell. And we see over and over how a Jedi is the first to draw a weapon although they are allegedly trained to fight only in defense. The Jedi have made so many mistakes and committed so many sins that I could spend hours writing about nothing else. But woe if you dare to attack the alleged heroes who can make things float and have shiny sabers and a detached, uncaring attitude (or at least, pretend to have it).
If a Star Wars show had Jedi for protagonists and these would be the infallible, all-wise superheroes hardcore fans take them for, these fans wouldn't mind one bit if these Jedi were black, Asian, female, lesbians, non-binary or anything else. They would swallow it all, hook, line and sinker.
Some YouTubers Apparently Don't Have a Life
Now Star Wars is owned by Disney, and the antis see the studios as an enemy they need to fight tooth and nails because apparently, there is no life without a fight. These fans are a much bigger problem than the studios. Thanks to social media, any idiot can easily post their unthinking, hateful opinion online and gain a following of fans who are of the exact same opinion but would never listen to another perspective, or watch the tv show in question in the first place.
This whole discourse just shows what a polarized world we live in. You don’t like something, so you „fight” against the supposed bad guys who are responsible (in this case the Disney studios).
The Acolyte had few viewers because apparently many fans watched and listened to haters online instead of watching the actual show and forming an opinion of their own. Also, it is well known that the author is a lesbian and the protagonist identifies as non-binary, so that’s enough of a reason to reject it.
How progressive. I remember learning how in feudalist Europe the nobility refused to listen to Händel or Rossini because not being of noble birth, they allegedly couldn’t be good composers.
My point is that Star Wars stans should at least give a film or a tv show a chance instead of bowing down to preconceived notions, expectations, entitlement and influencers who they probably don’t even know personally.
After The Last Jedi, there was bullying and even death threats en masse; it already started with the prequels, Ahmed Best became depressed and Jake Lloyd schizophrenic. Kelly Marie Tran and Daisy Ridley had to cancel all of their online accounts. And these are just a few examples. I wouldn’t want to produce or work on Star Wars. There is no reason to be so aggressive over a piece of media.
I don’t like the „woke” agenda either, the victimization of minorities is ridiculous and counterproductive.
But please, who hates The Acolyte should at least a) watch the series and stick to the facts and b) look at themselves first. Female heroes, black / Asian actors, queer characters are not the problem here. It’s their hero worship of the Jedi and their misguided idea of what a „true hero“ ought to be like that’s at the bottom of all of their hatred. Die-hard fans still feel personally offended because Luke Skywalker had actually taken responsibility for his faults and drank green milk; they can record hours of YT videos where they keep ranting about every single shot of The Last Jedi, never admitting that they hate it because they feel like their personal pride got a blow on purpose. They would never listen to fans who actually liked that film, and why.
Some problems, really. These alleged fans ought to get a life instead of spending years and years hating on Disney, Kathleen Kennedy etc. because Their Heroes were (shocking) taken off their pedestal and humanized.
What also gets me is how utterly entitled and ungrateful these fans are. Ever since 2015 Disney has produced plenty of good Star Wars content until now: Rogue One, Andor, The Mandalorian, The Bad Batch, the 7th season of The Clone Wars, Ahsoka, The Force Awakens, just to name a few. Most fans agree that these are good or at least solid work. But as soon as something comes out that they don’t like, they forget all about that and rave that Disney should sell the franchise to more competent authors, or that at least the current board of directors should be fired and replaced.
Really? Listen to Rachel Zegler telling everybody what she thinks of 1937 Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, the film that actually laid the ground for the studio’s success and wealth, and that she’s supposed to be starring in the remake. There’s a person who ought to be sacked right away for her disrespect of the original and overall entitlement.
Star Wars Is Not Owned by the Haters
In the end, a good story is a good story because it’s well told, not because of the ideals it (apparently) wants to convey.
Star Wars, ever from the start, was not about Good vs. Evil but about the power of love. The fact that the Jedi are not the good guys but fallible though well-meaning people is what makes them interesting. It’s not the author’s fault if so many fans believe that a good story must be Good vs. Evil and that there is no alternative to that. Star Wars started out as a fairy tale, it’s not your average action movie franchise.
I would like many of the antis have to do the actual work, i.e. write and produce a Star Wars show or movie, and do better. Most of them wouldn’t get two sentences together because all they know how to do is to hate on people who actually are creative, even if the result of that creativity isn’t perfect.
So, I suggest we, the more moderate fans, take a stand. Why have we allowed the antis to hate on Disney and on Star Wars in general since The Last Jedi came out? Why are our voices not louder? Why do we always hope for something better to happen?
The studios are drowning in hatred, for all the wrong reasons. It’s a pity that the more aggressive and stupid voices are also the loudest.
I would have liked to see a second season of The Acolyte, just to see where the characters would go. So would many other fans.
Let’s speak up. As for me personally, I’m sick of getting invested in stories and then let down.
Have a nice day.

I have yet to actually see a single episode of Rebels. So aside from gifs I've seen of certain scenes (mostly Ahsoka running into Anakin as Vader and Maul's final fight with Obi-Wan), I have little to no knowledge of what actually happens in it.
Before I start watching it, however, I want to make a list of the things I think I know and then do a little compare and contrast sort of thing once I've completed it. No need to correct me if I'm wrong on anything and I will ask for no spoilers (for the time being), but we'll see how well that goes.
Anyway here's what I think happens in Rebels based on the gifs, fan art and random other fandom related shit I've absorbed through osmosis:
The main character is Ezra Bridger and apparently he gets a boyfriend near the end of the series??? Good for him.
Kanan is Caleb Dume, Depa's padawan. He's the fan favorite.
Kanan gets married to a Twi'lek Rebel fighter named Hera. I'm very happy for them both.
There's a Lasatt voiced by Joe DiMaggio. I think. I've heard there are a lot of fart jokes related to him. I'm really hoping there isn't.
Ezra goes Sith for a period. Or like flirts with the Dark Side? Idk something emo is going on with him.
Maul kidnaps Ezra and tries to make him his apprentice. I assume this is the part where Ezra goes emo boy mode.
Sabine becomes Manda'lor. And then gives the Darksaber to Bo-Katan. Who then isn't the Manda'lor because she didn't win it via mortal combat? Idk, man, Favroni are on one with this bullshit.
Tarre Vizsla gets introduced in Rebels and he is the only valid Vizsla (besides Paz) to ever exist. I refuse to stop stanning our canon Mandalorian Jedi. Don't ever change, Tarre!
I don't actually know who Sabine is, but her design is very reminiscent of mid 2000s "cool girl" character aesthetics and it feels sorta aged to me. Regardless of this, I'm assuming she's a great character as I haven't really seen anyone shitting on her.
Ezra and Sabine are in a relationship? Were in a relationship? No fucking clue.
I think Obi-Wan mercy kills Maul in front of Ezra????? If that's the case, Ezra would technically be among the few people to know that Obi-Wan's alive and where he's hiding. I'm going to assume he's just keeping his mouth shut?
I've heard that Sabine is a lesbian??? I have no fucking clue what she and Ezra got going on then, but in this house we stan all queer identities so whatevs.
Thrawn makes an appearance. I somehow knew about Thrawn being in Rebels, but literally nothing else. Which is weird 'cause I remember reading the books as a kid but I've retained no memory of them. Anyway, looking forward to seeing his blue ass.
I think Ahsoka gets her badass codename "Fulcrum" from the Rebels show. I will be very happy if this is true.
Hondo Ohnaka tries to sell one of the main crew. Idk who. And I don't even know if this is even true. But I know this little rat man and I would be shocked if he didn't attempt to do something.
Kanan is part werewolf. I have no fucking clue what the lore explanation for this is. I just keep seeing shit that says he's a werewolf and I refuse to budge on this until I figure out otherwise.

Mandalorian S03E02 is here and once again I will yell into the void about it
———
Grogu completely ignoring his baby seat in favour of Din’s lap is everything. EVERYTHING
Listen with a plot revolving about Mandalore culture AND purrgils appearing we’re BOUND to have Sabine at some point right? Please?
I already love R5. Droids with personalities are the best
Din is the most Dad™️ ever and I stan him hard
Din and R5 checking the atmosphere before attempting to breathe there is like the FIRST time this has ever happened in Star Wars lmaoooooo 😅 I’ve been wondering that for so long
I love how Din’s every day is just Take Your Jedi Baby To Work Day. Mines of Mandalore? Sure, why not?
The wiping shot transitions have become so integrally Star Wars that with any other movie or media I’d think of it as cliche or amateurish, but here I just accept it and even love it for it
Crab droid???
But seriously, if Sabine would reappear, would we also get another mention of The Duchess? Has Sabine’s work in some way been used in the Purge of Mandalore? Is that why she hasn’t returned to the other Mandalorians and laid claim to the darksaber as the one true ruler of Mandalore?
HE TRUSTS GROGU TO SAVE HIS ASS OH MY GOD ;-;
GROGU GOING ON A SOLO MISSION
I AM DYING
Does Bo-Katan seriously just spend her days moping around in her throne? Amazing
Bo-Katan’s murderous intent changing at once when the baby needs help omgggg
The view on destroyed Mandalore is really heart-breaking 🥺
R5 really just treats this as a good show huh
Ngl Bo-Katan just stepping off that ledge before activating her jetpack is kinda sexy 😳
Bo my love you didn’t fight side by side with a Jedi lmao, hasn’t Ahsoka made that clear?
If they let Bo-Katan keep the darksaber and reclaim her rule on Mandalore now I will commit crimes. Girl isn’t the right person to lead Mandalore, she’s shown that time and again
Yessss girl set him straight! You don’t need to be redeemed for that creed crap!
Okay FINALLY she’s letting go of her Death Watch bullshit
This feels like a staunch atheist watching a baptism lol
Aaaaannnddd ofc THAT happens
WTF KIND OF ENDING WAS THAT
God the music is good ;-;
I will have to say that between today’s Mando and TBB episodes, TBB definitely captured me more, but this was cool too!

Hello wifey, I got these for the unpopular opinion ask: 💖💕🏳️‍🌈
Hi baby! 🥰💙💚 I shall happily answer these asks for you!
Link to original ask game below if y’all wanna play along and if you reblog I’ll be snooping 👀
💖- what is your biggest unpopular opinion about the series?
So I’m just gonna say this about all of Star Wars in general specifically the newer stuff that’s been coming out lately as well as the future projects they’ve announced to us (minus the Tales of the Empire I’m genuinely excited for that because BARRISS 💙) but in my OPINION they’re focusing on all the wrong characters and spending too much time and money into mediocre storylines when there’s so much more they can be doing. Like the Ahsoka wasn’t really about Ahsoka herself and where they decided to take that show was very strange and weak. Andor head was boring as hell to me and there wasn’t much pay off in there for any of the characters. Bad Batch is only good when the episode isn’t about the Bad Batch themselves but about another character people actually like (I.e Ventress, Rex, etc.). Mando went off the rails in its third season because in my opinion Mando and Grogu’s story ended beautifully with that badass Luke Skywalker finale.
Now before everyone get all butthurt and all up in their feelings, remember that 1.) this is my own unpopular opinion I’m allowed to have and 2.) yes I’m aware I can pick and choose what to watch and not to watch and that if I don’t like a show I won’t watch it. What I’m saying is that the stories and characters I want to see more of don’t get produced which is why I’m so pumped for Tales of the Empire because we finally get a Barriss Offee story which has been left on read for the last decade and why I enjoyed Tales of the Jedi so much because we got more Dooku content and more good Ahsoka content.
Tumblr media
💕- What is an unpopular ship that you like?
Kenduli/Obinara (Luminara Unduli x Obi-Wan Kenobi) all day everyday and I will stan them until the day I die (sorry Satine fans no offense). Anyone who has read The Approaching Storm and paid attention to their interactions in Clone Wars could see these two have chemistry and are an absolute delight together. To me their relationship would have all the class of a pairing like Morticia and Gomez Addams from the Addams family with the sexiness of a James Bond and a Bond girl. Honestly what’s not to like? And no this is not an open invitation to bash them because this is MY unpopular opinion remember 😉 Read any of my fanfic and you’ll warm up to them I assure you!
Tumblr media
🏳️‍🌈- which character who is commonly headcanoned as queer doesn’t seem queer to you?
Obi-Wan Kenobi. And yea I’m aware that the recent Padawan book implied he may be bisexual but I’m sorry Obi-Wan has always come off to me as a total ladies man in both the shows/movies and in books. Like the women go nuts for him (I.e. Ventress, Satine, etc) and there are always women speaking to him when he’s just walking about in the Temple (I.e Luminara, Aayla) like who wouldn’t be into the mister “Hello There” man and I’m saying this as a GAY woman who feels she has a pretty good gaydar and I’m not getting anything from Obi-Wan sorry not sorry. He may be bisexual but at the end of the day, I feel he prefers the ladies.

My very biased review of the Ahsoka finale
This might thread down the unpopular opinions road. It's all right. That's what opinions are for.
Let me start by saying that I didn't like most of the finale. I had a grand total of 2 scenes I enjoyed: Ezra reuniting with Hera, and the very end scene with Hayden (shocker, I know).
I didn't like most of the show in general, mainly because of the whole clusterfuck with Sabine being trained as a Jedi. I hate it deeply because it undermines Sabine's worth. She was already a great character. She didn't need to be made better or more powerful by becoming Ahsoka's apprentice. She didn't need to suddenly develop Force-sensitivity. The cool thing with Sabine was that she was NORMAL. Yes, she was a Mandalorian and skilled with blasters and explosives, but she was a regular person. She was a non-superpowered human in a galaxy where heroes were known as having superpowers. That's what made her so interesting in Rebels. And this whole season she was at her best when she switched back to what she knew: guns and bombs. Her best scene in the finale (imo) was when she crashed the ship and took 2 TIEs with it. That's who Sabine is.
I'm also mad at how little information we had on Baylann and Shin. They were depicted as the main villains in the beginning, but we never got their back story. By the last two episodes they're discarded to make room for Thrawn, which I understand, but we still don't even know who they are. What's their story? Where did Baylann come from? How does he know Anakin? How did Shin come to be his apprentice? And the worst part is we won't ever get clear answers because Baylann as he was in this season cannot be in the next due to what happened to Ray Stevenson. So this is just a loose thread. And the way it ended doesn't give me hope for Shin either.
Midway through the show it feels like Filoni had a shift and stopped caring about this being the Ahsoka show and just making it a setup for his Thrawn movie. And I hate it. I hate when film and showrunners make what should be a stand-alone (in a previously established universe) into a prequel. It's the crap Marvel did and now Star Wars is trying really hard to copy that. (Yeah I know, it's Disney. Pisses me off all the same.) This show was called "Ahsoka" for fuck sake! And by the end, it was the Thrawn show. We had an entire episode (1x06 Far, Far Away) without Ahsoka in it, except for like one scene in the beginning. Can you imagine a Kenobi episode without Obi-Wan? An Andor episode without Cassian? It makes no sense! It's the same kind of bullshit they pulled with BoBF when it became The Mandalorian s2.5 halfway through. Yes, it progresses the overall story, but in a way to set up something else instead of focusing on your main character.
In the same vein, I hate how Jacen was set up in the beginning, then discarded, how we never even saw Zeb and Agent Kallus, how Hera just became the way to tie Ahsoka back to the New Republic, how Senator Xiono could have been a good antagonist but ended up being an asshole without substance... There were too many things set up for a show this short and most of them ended up fizzling into nothing.
Now, I did like the Anakin parts. Yes, that's because I'm a Hayden stan through and through. Put him anywhere in the GFFA and I'm a goner. The World Between Worlds scenes were absolutely phenomenal, and probably why I'll rewatch this show again. Sorely because of Hayden (although Ariana was incredible too in the TCW scene). His Anakin brought this whole show to another level. No shade to Rosario, I love her. But this show didn't do her justice. Especially not next to Hayden when they had them sparring. The rest of the show I was disappointed in all of her fight scenes because how can I believe the girl who trained under Anakin Skywalker is so slow? They, probably without realizing it, built her up to fail. And it bothers me because we know from the animated series that Ahsoka is amazing in a fight.
I also appreciated the zombie troopers. The rest of the Dathomir storyline is a bit muddy and I'm not sure I love it, but I guess I just have to wait to see how they try to make this fit post-Jedi Fallen Order/Survivor.
I don't even know where I'm going with this by now. I just... I wish this show had been different. The ending is kinda making me cautiously excited for Thrawn. (But only if they bring in the Chiss Ascendancy and Eli. I need my Thranto fix in live action, thank you very much.) There's also all the little easter eggs of Mortis that make me wonder if they didn't pull a Lost and they're all just dead (which I would respect a lot more than whatever else they seem to be building on).
In the end, I am deeply disappointed in what the show ended up being. Apart from a few moments, most of it was "meh" at best for me and I mourn what could be if Filoni stopped trying to make all his female OC the biggest badass that ever was and one-up one another.

I think the impact Kenobi has on the sequels is kinda going under going under the radar
As I saw someone else say, what makes SW spin offs good is how they can give greater meaning to the source,
Leia's meeting and connection with Obi-Wan recontextualizes her faith in him in ANH, that's obvious
But it also helped improve the sequels, it's subtle, but it's there
For 6 years we've wondered why Han and Leia named their son after a guy they barely knew/didn't like or didn't get a chance to meet
And now we know, Ben Kenobi was the Jedi knight who came to Leia's rescue when she was a little girl, risked everything to save her, the embodiment of the stories she'd heard
Of course she named her son after him
This little thing just gives so much regarding Leia and Kylo, it makes his turn to the dark side that much more tragic
And this is what we need
This is how you improve the sequels, little things that add up, providing new insights on the characters, locations, events, and organizations

Luke, Rey, Grogu, Ezra, Cal, Kanan, and Ahsoka are not grey Jedi nor are they going to be grey jedi
They are all light siders
Grey jedi do not exist
There is no grey side of the Force, and you cannot use both sides of the Force because
Tumblr media
You cannot have balance by using both sides of the Force (for the record, "light side" is something that never comes up in Lucas' SW, it's always "dark side" and the Force itself, implying that the Force is light) because the dark side is imbalance by its own nature, and light is balance

Now, see, if it were the Jedi choosing their literal war leaders and political figureheads to be exclusively teenage and preteen girls, we would hear no end of “CHILD SOLDIERS” and “GENEVA CONVENTION BREACH” and “WAR CRIMES” and “THE JEDI DESERVED THEIR GENOCIDE.”
But when people point out that literally every culture in Star Wars has what we would define as children fighting in the vanguard, that the fan-favorite Naboo is no different, and that the Jedi are not as much of an outlier as Anakin Stans want us to believe…silence. Yeah, it’s almost as if this is a series for children, and children are in the battle so the audience of children can see themselves as heroes, and that adult fans of CHILDREN’S MEDIA are reading too much into it.
I fully understand that the preponderance of evidence is that George Lucas put absolutely zero thought into what Naboo’s culture was actually supposed to look like outside of what we see on screen, but as far as unintentionally effective worldbuilding goes, establishing that Naboo a. has a tradition of electing literal children as figurehead rulers of its planetary government, and b. apparently also has a tradition of assassinating these children with sufficient frequency that dressing up a bunch of other children as decoy targets has become standard operating procedure by the time of Padmé Amidala’s reign suggests that maybe the fact that this random backwater is a breeding ground for Sith Lords isn’t as unlikely as it initially appears.

@tragicfantasy-girl This is more of a reply to this post since I can't directly reblog your reply there for some reason: Stumblings in Middle Earth (and other places) on Tumblr: The Mythology of 'Star Wars' with George Lucas | BillMoyers.com
To be fair, Lucas tended to give several pro-Jedi stuff in various interviews as well, pro-Jedi stuff that unintentionally made them look even WORSE. Like for example, him, and I kid you not, actually claiming President Obama would have been a Jedi, saying it's obvious, when asked point blank. And bear in mind that during the leadup to the 2008 presidential elections when Obama acted as the Darkhorse Candidate he called Obama a hero for the ages, and overall tended to imply that the Jedi way WAS the way to go, the Jedi Code and all of that (and did I mention he also had the gall to imply that Luke Skywalker of ALL people was an inferior Jedi compared to Obama?! Luke... Skywalker... the same character whose pure selfless love for his father not only redeemed the latter, but in-story at least ultimately helped save the galaxy... against the expectations of not just Palpatine, but even Obi-Wan and Yoda, an inferior Jedi to a man who lies as easily as he changes clothes, acted extremely petulantly to any critics, was willing to expand on outright child murder... sorry, abortion access by crassly inferring even HAVING a baby at all was a punishment, destabilized the Middle East even worse than during the Bush and Clinton years, even cynically throwing a documentarist under the bus after Libya, and overall did a huge number on America's reputation by turning it into a complete pathetic joke [and in this case, I mean Obi-Wan's usage of pathetic] with that self-serving apology tour, basically placed any blame even regarding policies he did on the prior administration without ANY attempt at owning up, not even in a showy manner, much less a sincere effort, and overall made PALPATINE of all people seem trustworthy by comparison. All I can say on that bit is this: After that bit, I DEFINITELY doubt Lucas would NOT have ruined Luke in his planned Sequel Trilogy any less than Disney did with their ACTUAL Sequel Trilogy, and considering the crap they did with him, that's saying a LOT). Personally, I think his actually claiming the Jedi were what Obama would embody, knowing his petulant, narcissistic, and downright disastrous personality (the closest we ever got to an American Vladimir Lenin, with the separation of powers just BARELY restraining him from going all out) actually ends up being more of a mark AGAINST the Jedi rather than for it, and I'm personally surprised the Jedi-Stans as I call them DON'T tend to cite that as evidence to their world view since Lucas clearly was speaking positively of them, intending to at least, when he said that.
And that's not even counting his Dark Victory interview in Time Magazine either, the one that infamously had Lucas denounce Anakin as greedy for actually being concerned for Padme and Shmi's well-being (apparently also forgetting that it was that same trait that ultimately REDEEMED him after he became Vader, meaning he literally sabotaged Vader's redemptive last moments in life with such talk), all while implying a compassionate and selfless jedi would throw them under the bus.

What your favorite Star Wars Lightsaber form may say about you. (By Legend Trainer Emily)
Form I (1) Shii-Cho- The basic form. Now you may expect me to call y’all basic but I’m won’t. No, if you specialize in this you either have a weird thing for Master Kit Fisto (🤨) or you appreciate the strength in simplicity.
Form II (2) Makashi- Two (ha) things: you love watching fencing in the Olympics and played that game exclusively in Wii Sports Resort or you watched Episode II Count Dooku and thought “Oh he slays!” (Then watched Tales of the Jedi and went “Oh no, he slays!”)
Form III (3) Soresu- Oh, here it is. The most “but Master Kenobi made it cool,” basic-a, white girl choice. You’re so self-conscious, insecure, and defensive you’ve made Form III a defining character trait. Please see a therapist, hon.
Form IV (4) Ataru- Gremlin Energy TM. And I’m not being racist to Yoda, this is you and you’re a gremlin. You don’t have neurodivergence, neurodivergence has you.
Form V (5) Shien- Don’t take my criticisms too seriously, but please find a more diverse array of coping strategies for your emotions. If you do and this is still your favorite…don’t hurt me please! 🥺 You’re great, I love you! 😅
Form VI (6) Niman- You know, if you pushed your glasses up any further while saying “erm, ackshully…” you’ll eventually find that your big brain energy is just a hollow reminder that you don’t have any close friends. Get some and then we can talk about Form 6 like adults.
Form VII (7) Juyo- This form is liked by two types of people: unbearable Sith apologists who constantly forget that THOSE ARE THE EVIL PEOPLE! and people with the “oh I can fix them” mentality towards the saddest of fandoms. (This is me, I’m the second one.)
Bonus round! (Y’all are super nerds)
Djem-so -Form 5 but with “rule of cool” energy.
Vapaad- Mace Windu stans. Honestly get it girl, but please admit that Disney bringing him back from the dead would be horribly disappointing and unoriginal.
Jar-kai- You can get it! Like who wouldn’t want more lightsaber? Cook, hon, cook! (Also Ahsoka stans; I see you)
Strong, Fast, and Medium Style- You’re one of two people: a special form of a-hole who likely makes advocating for Disney to re-canonize the old EU their entire personality. Shut-up, read The New Jedi Order books again, and please let other people enjoy Star Wars in peace. The second person is a classic Star Wars enjoyer. You long for the days when Star Wars games were more consistently good and not a crap shoot. I too, love my JK:JO and Jedi Academy.

This week: No Humans Allowed!
I love this luxurious concept art for Luminara and the as-yet-unnamed Barriss (who is a bit taller than her teacher!). Luminara will always hold a special place in my heart, as she was one of the reasons I got really into Star Wars a few years ago -- specifically, her fight with Ventress and Ahsoka near the beginning of the 3D Clone Wars cartoon. I was like, “Girl Jedi! Alright!”
As much as I love aliens, I do think it’s unfair that the prequels-era Force-sensitive women are mostly non-human. In this concept art, Luminara’s eyes look rather alien, but the women are not quite green yet. Mirialans are alright, but don’t we have enough green women in sci-fi and fantasy? I think it would have been better to have more human woman representation, especially of women of color.
Concept art from The Art of Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones, written by Mark Cotta Vaz. “Luminara Unduli & Padawan,” painted by Dermot Power. Published 2002.

What's your opinion of Lisa and Ben Braeden from spn?
They’re okay, they served the stories - most of the times.  Half the time Lisa was a self-insert character for fangirls since “Swan Song” was supposed to be Kripke’s “love letter” to the fans. Except a lot fans didn’t see it that way in either case.  Fangirls were supposed to see themselves in Lisa when she took a broken Dean into her arms, I mean, doesn’t all fangirls dream of having Dean Winchester show up on the doorstep of their cute little house that they can magically afford on a yoga salary?  Right?  Except not even AA stans brought into the Lisa fantasy and they’re the ones whom one would think were most likely to see themselves in Lisa.
Competent writers use their self-insert characters as comedic relief or to call out plot cliches as an almost fourth wall breaking character, i.e. The Witcher guard criticized Jaskier’s songs for being too convoluted and cliche, which were fans’ complaints of the first season of The Witcher.   Han Solo was a self-insert type character, it's one of the reasons why he was more relatable because Luke is a legend and none of us can be a Jedi Knight, but we have the chance to get the girl like Han did who is just a man.  Lisa Braden in season 7 told Dean that his relationship with Sam isn’t normal sibling bond, which was what longtime fans have been saying forever.
