My [15M] rival [15/50M] has been weirdly aggressive towards me ever since he lost his memories for the second(?) time. Should I be worried about him trying to kill me again?
Summary
A post on r/relationship_advice by u/Chili_Dog1991
EDIT 1: Stop saying I'm Sonic I'm not.
EDIT 2: Okay I am Sonic. I don't see how that matters.
EDIT 3: Stop trying to figure out which of my rivals this is.
EDIT 4: Stop telling me to contact the police about his attempts to murder me or his age. It's complicated in regards to his age but he's essentially 15 and I can already defend myself way better than the police can in regards to his murder attempts. Also the police would probably try to arrest me too because they're either useless or make things actively worse.
EDIT 5: Stop DMing me to ask how murder attempts can be fun. I shouldn't have to explain this.
EDIT 6: Stop implying I'm a masochist.
EDIT 7: Stop implying I'm an adrenaline junkie. If I just wanted adrenaline I've got tons of other people who could give me that.
EDIT 8: To everyone who actually responded with advice, thank you. I attempted to talk to him about it, we fought again, and it turns out he's been acting aggressive because he doesn't know how to show affection so he just defaults to violence. We ended up holding hands after we physically couldn't fight anymore. It was a great night and I think we're together now.
EDIT 9: Which of you motherfuckers sent this to Tails.
ORIGINAL POST
Hi everyone, using a throwaway account to make this post because my little brother knows my main and the embarrassment would kill me if he ever saw this.Â
So for context, I've known this guy for a while now, at least in the context of my life. I've got a pretty hectic life and I'm a traveler, so I've met a lot of people and he's one of the few that's been able to keep up with me. Our first meeting was during a bit of a stressful time because he kind of inadvertently framed me for thievery (we look kinda alike and the police are stupid, it's not his fault but I was pretty pissed at the time) and got me arrested, so we ended up fighting about it in the middle of the street. I'm used to fighting and pretty good at it, so it was a surprise when he turned out to be basically my equal at it, which is pretty rare even among my other rivals. He got the upper hand on me for long enough that the police were able to arrest me again. I was pretty mad but also impressed. Our second meeting was even more stressful because I had just got out of jail after being arrested for the second time, and I was still angry about it so we fought again. I was about to win but then it turned out we were both in danger along with some friends of mine so we both left as fast as we could. Both of these times I could tell he was taking the fight seriously, but I could also tell he wasn't trying to KILL ME kill me. Y'know?
Anyway, in our next meeting he was definitely trying to kill me. Outright said it to my face. I won that fight thankfully, and I'm not even angry about it because a lot of people have tried to kill me over the years and also he has some kind of goal I was getting in the way of, and he didn't even succeed. He ended up changing his mind about that goal though, and when we next saw each other we were on the same side trying to deal with a mutual threat.Â
And it was at that point I kind of realized I was in love. I've never really wanted a relationship because I thought it would get in the way of my lifestyle, but with this guy specifically it wouldn't be a problem. I would have told him about it, but then I thought he died and I didn't see him for a while. I wasn't too broken up about it because we only knew each other for a couple days, but I was still sadder than I thought I would have been.
He ended up coming back to life though, and he had lost his memories for the second time in his life (long story I'm not gonna get into) and he didn't really remember me anymore. I know from a mutual friend of ours that he remembered me well enough to be annoyed by my name, which made me irrationally happy, and I think he did end up getting his memories back, but when we first saw each other he definitely didn't know who I was. We fought again, it was a tie, and then we ended up teaming up to take down a mutual enemy again.Â
Things have been a bit less chaotic since then. We've fought a couple more times but nothing serious, he's saved my life, I've saved his, you know how it goes. We haven't really talked about anything that happened, but that's fine because neither of us have ever been much for verbal communication and we understand each other just fine. I've tried getting over my crush on him, but that's never really worked because we see each other a lot due to our lifestyles and we have some mutual friends in common, and I like spending time with him anyways, even if we're just beating each other up most of the time.
Personality wise, he's basically my polar opposite, but we get on pretty well despite that. I think aside from my general attraction to danger and his ability to match me in a fight and a race that might be the main thing that draws me to him. I've got a lot of friends, but never one so different from me and yet so similar. He's just always been special to me.
But the main reason I'm making this post is because despite all we've been through, he still acts like we're enemies at worst and temporary allies at best. We fight almost every time we meet unless something less serious is going on, and he's pretty grumpy and mean to me all the time. I like this about him, but it does make me question if he even sees me as anything more than a rival, and I don't know how to ask him because we don't talk about weird emotional stuff. I also think that asking him directly could maybe lead to another murder attempt, which would be fun, but it's not what I'm looking for anymore. I don't mind all the fighting, but just once I'd like to kiss him on the mouth instead of punching his teeth in, y'know?

đŹđ§ || Dangerous Woman || C.H x Verstappen!Reader
Warnings: 18+, age gap, foot massage, handjob, degrading kink (briefly), oral (M receiving), sub!christian
Wordcount: 1.3k
She knew it was inappropriate to have these thoughts about him, not only because of their age gap, but also because he was like her brothers father
But god, there was something about him that made her feel like a dangerous woman
Thereâs something âbout him that makes her wanna do things she shouldnât
Whenever she had the chance, she went with her brother to his Grand Prixs, but not because of him
She did it because of him
She did it because of Christian fucking Horner
She would never dare to admit to her brother about her thought towards his team principal, but she wouldnât deny it if he asked about it
She didnât know what about him that did it. Maybe it was the way his hair was greying, or the way his arms flexed under his shirt, or the way his thighs got thicker every time he sat down, or the way his hands looked
But something âbout him made her feel like a dangerous woman
The only reason she stood in the back of the garage to watch the Grand Prix, and not up front closer to the screen, was so she could look at Christian at the same time
It was the Dutch Grand Prix she attended today, so it would be special if Max won, even though we all know he was gonna win either way
He won, of course. She went over to her brother hugging him tightly congratulating him
She back up wanting to make space to the rest, but doing so, she accidentally bumped into Christian
âOh, sorry, Christianâ She said as he held her waist, supporting her so she wouldnât fall
âItâs alright, loveâ He always called her love, but no matter how many time he did call her that, it always sent heat to her core, making a pool of wetness between her legs
She had suggested to throw the after party at her house since it wasnât far, and really, she didnât mind all the people in her house
Yes, it would be a mess to clean tomorrow, but he were gonna be there, so why shouldnât she suggest it?
She sat on the couch talking with some of the engineers and mechanics with a drink in hand, but her eyes always found their way back to him, even if she tried hard to keep them away
She knew he looked at her too. Every time she would look over at him, his eyes would turn away and towards the person he was talking to
At some point during the night, she went to the kitchen to get a glass of water instead of alcohol
As she turned back around she almost bumped into him for the second time that day
âThis could turn into a habit, Christianâ She chuckled
âYeah, sorry, I just wanted to get something else than alcoholâ He explained to her
âGreat minds think alike. The glasses are in the left cupboardâ She said sitting down in a chair at the dinning table. She groaned as she kicked off her heels
She put her foot in her lap as she started messaging the numb nerves. Christian was done with his water but didnât leave the kitchen
âLet me help youâ He said pushing off the counter. He walked over to her and knelt down into her height. He took her foot onto his knee and lightly message her. She watched at him in surprise
âYouâre surprisingly good at thisâ She said looking down at his hands as they worked on her foot
âYouâre forgetting Iâve been married, loveâ He chuckled
âYeah, I do that quite a lot actuallyâ She admitted
He switched foot to start on the other. His warm touch did nothing to prevent the witness that was starting to form in her panties
She took her foot away from him, quickly leaning down, grabbing his chin in her hand and roughly smashing their lips together
She started to pull away when he didnât kiss her back, but he pulled her back into the kiss but the back of her neck as his other hand landed on her bare thigh
He stood up, pulling her with him. He tripped her body between his own and the kitchen counter
Both of their breaths were heavy when they pulled away from each other to catch their breath
His large hands were placed on her waist while her smaller ones were placed firmly on his biceps
âYou know youâre beautiful, right?â He mumbled as he placed kisses on her neck and throat. He placed his knees between her legs, earning him a whine as he made contact with her clothed cunt
âChristianâŚâ She tugged his hair, pulling him away from her skin. She kiss him again âNot hereâ She got out of his grip
She walked out of the kitchen, holding his hand, making sure heâd follow her. They managed to get to her bedroom without being seen by the people in the house
She pushed him up against the door as she locked it. The kiss was messy and needy. Her hands traveled to his chest. Her fingers found the buttons of his button-up
She did the first few buttons before he spoke between kisses âLove⌠We shouldnât⌠This is wrongâ
âAnd yet, youâre the one to call me love at every chance you getâ She smirked against the skin on his chest as she continued on his shirt
She got the shirt off of him completely and threw it on the floor âWell, we canât stop nowâ He said capturing her lips again
âOf course we can, we just donât want toâ He could feel her smirk into the kiss as her hands traveled down his chest and down to his abdomen
Her hand slid over his belt. She easily unbuckled it and zipped his jeans down. He groaned as she took his cock out of his boxers
She spit in her palm before starting to stroke him. She started sucking on his skin on his neck and throat. His breath shuttered as her thumb would brush over his tip
His heavy breath turned into moans as she sped up her movements. His hands went to her hips, grabbing her tightly
Dark circles were already forming on his skin as he started bucking his hips, fucking her hand
âFuck, please, love, I want your mouth around me, pleaseâ His eyes were closed shut as his head leaned against the door
âYou should be happy thereâs loud music and talking in the house, âcause, god youâre loudâ Her words made his breath shutter
She drew out a groan from him when she took her hand away. She pulled her hair into a ponytail before going to her knees
She circled her tongue around his tip before going all the way down on him. His hands came to be placed on the back of her head, but they were quickly pushed away and hardly pinned to the door
âPlease, let me touch youâ He begged looking down at her. He groaned when she didnât let go of his wrist against the door, but she only went faster with her motions
âFuck, pleaseâ He started fucking her mouth, not knowing what he was actually begging for
She felt him start to twitch in her mouth. She went fast, gagging every time he hit the back of her throat, which only added to his pleasure
âFuck, Iâm gonna-â He couldnât form any proper sentence from his pleasure and from how close he was to his orgasm
It didnât take long for him to fall over the edge and came down her throat. She pulled off of him, swallowing his loath
She stood up, knees red from sitting on the floor. She kissed his lips, but this time it was soft
âYouâre stronger than you lookâ He said which made her chuckle. She took his shirt from the floor to give him as he zipped his pants back up and buckled his belt
âOr maybe youâre just weakâ She smiled kissing his neck soft over one of her marks she had made

Here it is: the Christ Thorndyke rewrite.
Prepare yourselves, I have SO much to say about this
Name: Chris Thorndyke
Age: 13 years old (season 1 and 2)
Being the only child of a wealthy CEO and renounced model, Chris was born to a life of luxury and solitude. He doesn't remember either of his parents showing up for the entrance ceremony of his first day of primary school, nor for any academic events that happened in the years to come. His birthdays were the few times he got to speak with his parents in a way that wasn't through rushed phone calls right before his bed time or when he was due to leave for school (his parents couldn't care less for keeping up with time zone differences while they were abroad). It didn't help he had no friends at school; at first, dozens of children from school would show up for his birthday parties, but they always asked to see what Chris' parents had gifted himâ unbeknownst to them these were more apology gifts for not being around most of the year than birthday gifts. However, Chris didn't care much for the mountains of toys and gamesâ after a while, they got boring anyway. Instead, he proposed to go play in the park or venture out into the nearby woods in search of adventure, but ultimately resigned to forcibly smiling as his "friends" took turns using a remote control race car per their request.
Chris always liked the outdoors: It wasn't stuffy, and he didn't need to watch where he ran in fear of knocking over an expensive vase and being chastised by the maids and Mr. Tanaka for it. For a while, he forgot who we even was, and the only thing on his mind was seeing how far he could climb up a tree or what crevices and natural passageways he might encounter. Of course, it never lasted. Eventually a maid would come out looking for him and off he was to take a shower and have dinner by himself. Again.
Now, it wasn't like he was completely alone. He had his grandfather! Yes, an energetic man for his age, always interested in engineering and robotics, sometimes to the point of forgetting to sleep or eat. Chris always thought of him as the second coolest person he knew (his uncle Sam was first), but that didn't change the fact he did he wish his grandfather would take more breaks, or even spend time with him for a change...
At any rate, time passed by, and Chris grew.
Each year, his parents became more busy as their fame grew, and so did Chris' resentment towards them.
Other kids got to see their parents cheer for them at school music presentations and stage plays, they got to run into their arms every day after school and go home to a cozy home where they could tell their family about their day over dinner.
But not Chris.
Chris, on the other hand, could expect to see an indifferent maid holding up a camera with not an ounce of emotion on her face or Mr. Tanaka doing the same thing. "That was great, master Christopher," they would say, and Chris would try to make himself small as a flurry of eyes from parents and kids alike turned to him.
There were whispers of amazement, others of pity, and the boy hated them all the same.
Why? He wondered. Why was he only known as his parents' son? As the kid who had everything he could ask for yet wanted nothing of it? Why couldn't he just have been born a normal kid to a normal family in the first place?
And so he sought an escape.
He neglected all the new clothes his parents sent him from overseas and opted for comfortable clothes he bought on his own with his allowance, setting out for the city's skating park where he'd spent his afternoons perfecting tricks and jumps that would have had the maids and Mr. Tanaka physically stop him from even thinking about attempting. It was his sanctuary, his release, and boy did Chris fall in love with the exhilarating feeling that came with it.
One night, however, his life would be turned upside down by an unlikely encounter with a blue and snarky hedgehog...

Hiii! :) I'm popping into your inbox for two reasons. First, I'd like to tell you how amazing a writer I think you are. <3 I'm so glad you were brave enough to start writing for Tobias and MC because that pairing of yours is *chef's kiss*. But I also really enjoy your Ethan x MC stories. <3 Basically, I love anything you come up with.
Second, I'd really appreciate your perspective on something. As we all know, the fandom is dwindling and it's making me sad. Of course, it's only natural, but still, I've been thinking about what could be done to prevent the fandom from slowly dying out. I've decided to come to you because I know how passionate you are about trying to involve everyone in the fandom so that they don't feel left out. I love the mass asks you send to writers from time to time. They're always so fun and creative! And I know some other writers have been doing the same and I think it's such a fun idea.
I've also seen you sending out lovely messages to not only writers but also other creators and readers before, and I think this is something everyone should do more often (if and when they have the time and energy, of course). Because if you're just a reader, it's very easy to feel disengaged and lonely in this fandom (and I guess in any other fandom as well). You see writers and creators supporting each other, pre-reading each other's works, sending one another fun asks, brainstorming ideas, which all leads to them forming beautiful friendships. When you're "just" a reader, even if you keep reblogging works and trying to interact with creators, it's much harder to make friends because you can't really do all that I just mentioned. I think many readers have left because they don't feel part of the fandom and they feel no one would really miss them if they were gone.
So, this brings me to my main point. Do you (and I'm not just asking you but anyone who'll be reading this message) have any ideas on how to involve readers more in the fandom? I know most writers reply to their readers' reblogs but I feel more should be done to make them feel appreciated and loved. I often see asks like "How did your MC feel in ch X when..." going around and it might be a nice idea to send these asks to readers as well. Because despite them not being writers/creators, I'm sure every reader who's ever played OPH likes to think about these scenarios and has ideas as well. They might just be too shy to share them or feel no one would care. They could also be sent some fun prompts or charts to fill in, like that "What I love about you today" checklist. I'm convinced they'd also have fun with those.
Oooff, sorry for this long-ass message. I hope you don't mind me coming to you with this, but you always have great ideas to involve others and I thought I'd ask for your help/opinion in this matter as well.
So, what do you all think? Let's find some fun ways to show readers some love!
Hello Nonny,
I'm sorry it took a few days to reply, it's been a hellacious week, and I have not had much time on here.
First, thank you so much for your kind words. I really do appreciate them. As the fandom dwindles, it's especially good to know that people are enjoying what I write - I know other writers feel the same way. So thank you.
A few quick things, ongoing events like @jamespotterthefirst MC Monday and Thirsty Thursday, @potionsprefect Tick Tock Tuesday and @dr-colossal-pita Foodie Friday are open to all. (@genevievemd Wedding Wednesday has ended, but you can still participate). I point that out because when I joined the fandom, Bree was doing the Newlywed Games, and I thought you had to be a writer in order to do them, and you didn't these are for anyone to participate in.
I think it's very important for all of us to appreciate each other - creators and readers alike. I wish I had more answers about how to keep the fandom alive, but I think one of the best ways is just interacting. See a fic you like? Comment/Reblog. And, creators, do your best to reply to those who do. Appreciation and validation is a two-way street.
I also encourage people to really branch out. Try reading something you normally wouldn't - a new writer, a different pairing, something that wouldn't normally be your thing. You'd be amazed how much you might enjoy it.
The truth is, sadly, that the more time that passes after the end of the series, we will see attrition. There is no avoiding it. But I think being kind to each other, understanding each other, and being inclusive of all will go a long way to keep us flourishing.
I open this question to others - let us know your ideas.
I will say one thing, though, for me personally, but I know other writers share this sentiment. We're a little burnt out. It's hard to keep churning out material - as much as we love it - and, yeah, with interaction down, sometimes it's discouraging to continue.
So, remember this... you don't have to be a creator to create an event. Have an idea for "Teenage Tuesday" (Where we all talk about our characters as teens) GO FOR IT! You can start it too. None of us are more or less than the other here. We're an equal community.

Reunite, Luke Crain (1)
In this fic, Luke never befriended Joey.
Word count: 2.5k~
Part 1
Your life can flash by you in an instant. For me, when I think about my life, I see it all pass me as a theater release of a drama film. One moment, you're with the love of your life, enjoying a nice dinner with his family, and in the next, you're at your would-be sister-in-law's funeral with the love of your life sitting beside you, his body still recovering from years of drug abuse and the ring you once wore on your left ring finger long gone. Looking around the room, the dreary blank walls set with the dimming white lights match my life - those things used to be lit up and lively, and now, they're memories of what used to be good.
Life used to be great. I had Luke, his family, and a wedding ring on my finger. I could handle his nightmares and past memories of bad things that once went on in his life. What I couldn't handle was the heroin and the constant lies and betrayal that came with the drugs. It only took me a stolen tablet and used needles to kick Luke out of my life. It hurt me a lot to do that, but what hurt worse was seeing him after three years of nothing with him.
As soon as I stepped into the funeral home owned by Shirley, I caught Luke's eyes trained on my own. Whereas his were altered over the years by drugs and dangerous things alike, mine were affected by sadness and the cold I felt without him by my side. However, it was like nothing had changed between us, and the feelings we once held for each other not too long ago were still there. I don't know if it was because something as traumatic as Nell's death had just occurred and we both needed someone, or if maybe we were both still in love.
It was almost natural to sit beside each other, and for some reason, it was natural for me to still worry about him. "What are those bruises on your face from?" I asked, reaching up to gently touch them. "Did you get into a fight?"
Instead of simply brushing my hand away, Luke smiled softly and reached up to take my hand in his with the gentlest touch I had ever felt from him. "No, just some trouble from a few guys in an alleyway," he explained, his voice quiet as he watched me gaze at him with worried eyes. "But it's okay," He told me, his thumb running over the back of my hand. "I'm fine."
Steve had told me about Luke being in rehab and staying clean for a while. When he picked up Luke, he wasn't strung out either; in fact, he wasn't thinking or worried about drugs at all, it seemed. He was proud of that chip in his pocket, and even though it took him a few years, I was too.
Once the wake was over, Luke placed a kiss on my cheek before heading back with Steve to his hotel room while I stayed with Theo. It was like I was back to my old life five years ago when Luke and I would spend time with his family regularly, and everything was alright. Now I was spending time with his family without him or Nell, and yet, I was still accepted as a part of their family.
The day after the wake was the funeral, and like the day before, Luke was with me the entire time. Standing beside me in the blistering cold, his hand wrapped around mine and kept it warm while Nell's body was laid into the ground. Despite almost being a sister to Nell, I know it was still harder for Luke to see that sight than it was for me.
It was only when the funeral was over that mine and Luke's hands left each other's and we were headed back to the funeral home with everyone in their respected vehicles. In the midst of everyone talking around me, I began to think, and as endless thoughts ran through my mind, one thing stuck out. Although, it wasn't a thing; in fact, it was a question, and because of that question, I was plagued with a sickness in my stomach that wouldn't go away.
How do I still love Luke?
After everything he's put everyone through, I don't know how I could, but somehow, I can without any doubts about him loving me back. I've heard and seen the 'clean' act many times before, and yet, this one is seems to be the one that will actually work. Everything in me wants this to be the case, but there's a part of me that's afraid to stick around to see it. Why? Because I can't witness yet another time when Luke decides being a junkie is more important than everything else.
Arriving back at Shirley's funeral home, I let everyone exit the limousine before me, leaving me to be the last one out. As I'm stepping out of the long vehicle, I'm greeted by a hand reaching out to help me. Looking up at the owner of the hand, I see that it's only Luke, leaving me to give him a smile of thanks.
Walking toward the funeral home and out of the blistering cold, Luke speaks up. "When was the last time you spoke with Nell?" He asks, his warm hand still encased in mine as we walk up the steps to the house across from Shirley's main home.
"A few months ago, around the time she lost Arthur," I answer him as he opens the door for us. "I went over to her apartment to take her to lunch, but it was like I was talking to... not to be insensitive, but a ghost," I explain, watching Luke's face for any sign of hurt. Thankfully, his face remains the same, and the only thing that changes is us both sitting down beside each other in the entry hall. "She was... so emotionless and lifeless that it didn't feel like I was talking to Nell."
As if my words were slowly washing over him, Luke slowly nods before sitting back against the couch cushions. A few seconds of silence pass before either of us speak up with me being the one who says something. Although, it's something I've had resting on my chest for a while. "I can remember Nell's wedding, and how Shirley sent you away," I murmur, looking over at Luke as he continues staring back at me. It's something that's hurt me for a while, and I've been hoping for the opportunity to talk about this with him.
"I was such a dumbass," he points out, closing his eyes as he shakes his head. Seeing him do such a thing makes me want to lean in and hold him like I used when he was upset or stressed. I can't now, but I would be lying if I said I didn't miss that.
"I know," I say, opting to lean back against the couch like Luke. "Shirley and I got into an argument when she came back in," I confess, reaching a hand up to scratch at my neck as I swallow down the lump in my throat. Because of the argument, Shirley and I no longer have the friendship we once had. "I can't remember what I said, but she responded back that it was my fault you were the way you were because I wasn't doing enough to stop you," I add, watching Luke quickly look back at me with a mix of slight anger and hurt. I don't have to be a genius to know that Luke's upset over what Shirley said to me. "Don't be mad at Shirl, she was under a lot of pressure with the wedding-"
"She still should have never said that to you," Luke cuts me off, causing me to move forward and cover his hands with mine. "I did everything on my own accord, and no one could stop me. Not you, not Nell... no one," He admits, shaking his head out of shame once again. "I should have never put any of you through that - especially you. You were the last person I wanted to hurt."
His words cause the lump in my throat to return as well as tears in my eyes, but for once in a while, they're from happiness and not sadness. "You're better now," I remind him with a strained voice, rubbing my thumb against the back of his hand until he moves to take my hands in his rather than the reverse. "Please don't go back to what you were doing. Please, don't."
At my pleading, Luke moves forward to press his forehead to mine, something he hasn't done in such a long time. "I don't want to," He tells me, his nose almost touching mine as his green eyes stay locked on mine. "I really don't want to."
I know why he's saying he 'doesn't want to' rather than 'I won't.' He's said that before - every time he went into rehab, he said it. Perhaps he realizes that all the previous times held nothing but empty promises and he doesn't want to repeat that.
I do have to say that I'm thankful he avoided the topic of our previous engagement. Most of all, what I did with the ring. I still have it, of course, but I don't wear it. It's a hurtful reminder of what used to be my life, and I get enough of that pain just seeing it in my jewelry box everyday.
Luke and I continue sitting together on the couch for a while, just enjoying each other's company while everyone moves around us. It's only when Shirley asks me to help her with bringing out more snacks that Luke and I depart. Once I'm in the small kitchen with her, Shirley turns toward me and breaks the awkward silence surrounding us.
"Please don't tell me you're going to go to his hotel room later," She practically growls out, causing me to look at her confused. How could she assume something so bold?
"No, I'm not, Shirl," I tell her, watching her pointed glare soften with a small sigh. "I haven't even thought about doing something even remotely similar."
"I'm just making sure," She explains, holding her hands out in an 'okay' motion. "I don't want to see you hurt, or have something bad happen again," Shirley continues on, turning back to open the fridge and take out another tray of finger-foods. "I... don't want you to be let down again."
With her last words running through my head, I nod and bite my lip as I step forward to take the plate from her hands. "I know, Shirl," I assure her with another nod. "And, unfortunately, I completely understand."
With the second tray in her hands, Shirley closes the fridge and turns back around to walk into the main room with me behind her. Placing the plates on top of the empty ones, Shirley thanks me with a smile before walking off to do other things. Looking back over to the couch Luke and I were previously sitting at, I find it to be empty, and instead of seeing Luke in the spot I left him, I instead see him heading out with something in his hands. Is he...
Without being noticed, I head towards the exit in an almost sprint before slipping out and nearly jumping off the steps. Seeing the lights of Theo's Jeep flicker in the corner of my eyes, I know exactly what's going on.
"Luke!" I nearly shout, trying not to trip in my heels as the gravel moves under my feet. Immediately, Luke stops walking and turns toward me, his face cast almost in worry. "What are you doing, Luke?" I ask, feeling myself grow disappointed at the possibility of him trying to leave to break his sobriety.
"I have to do this," He says as I stop a few feet in front of him. Instantly, my disappointment grows into anger.
"Don't tell me you're going to get high," I practically seethe, taking a step forward toward him. However, to my surprise, Luke looks almost shocked by my words, and instead of getting into the Jeep, he stays standing in front of me.
"NO!" He exclaims, staring at me with furrowed brows. "That's the farthest thing from my mind now!" Luke further explains, a few seconds passing before he looks away and sighs. "It's that damn house... it did this..."
Despite his words being quiet, I still hear them and become confused. "What house, Luke?" I ask, just as realization sets in. "You mean Hill House?" I murmur, my anger dissipating within seconds. I know about Hill House and the horrors within it - hell, it's one of the reasons Luke is the way he is.
"It killed Nell," He sneers, shaking his head. "It killed my mom, and now it's killed my sister," Luke adds, taking a quick glance at the sky before looking back at me. "The house is evil, and I need to make sure it won't kill again."
Just by his words, I know what he plans on doing. "...I'm going with you," I declare, my mind not changing any time soon.
Eyes wide, Luke shakes his head at me. "No, no, (Y/n), you can't," He states, but I don't back away. Instead, I move to take his hands in mine as I say my next words.
"Yes, I am," I tell him, staring up at him with an moving gaze. "Luke, I haven't seen you for what feels like forever, you're finally off drugs, your sister died, and you're going through one of the most traumatic things in your life," I point out, my voice cracking toward the end as I stop myself from letting it all come out at once. "I... I still love you," I confess as a whisper, trying not to let all of the hurt show through. "I don't want to lose you permanently."
For a few seconds, Luke's eyes bounce everywhere as does his foot in a nervous manner. As if he had decided on something, Luke shakes his head before quickly leaning forward and pressing his lips to mine while taking my face in his hands. To feel myself kiss back without hesitance makes me want to pull away in fear of being hurt again, but I can't. Not when I've missed this the most.
Once Luke pulls away, his hands move to wrap around my waist and pull me close while his face stays mere inches away from mine. "I still love you too - I never stopped," Luke admits, "You're the only thing keeping me going, even if I can't have you like I used to," He adds, letting out a shaky sigh afterward. "Come on."

::::::
She always was on his mind. The woman, that always read between the lines, always two steps ahead of him, and had an incredible eye for business. She had left him years prior, leaving for a top business school in London. they never had a title, a label on their relationship, but it wasnât exactly a secret that they always, somehow, gravitated back to one another. Often people, especially Polly, would say that there was no way two people would be so alike, strong headed but only rarely clashed.Â
However y/nâs degree had finished and she was coming back to Small Heath for a period of time before she was going to figure out what exactly what she wanted to do. Y/n was actually great friends with the Shelby family, since growing up with them, living just down the road, they practically lived together. Y/n was actually younger than Tommy, she was ages with Ada and John. They were in the same class throughout school, Ada and y/n regularly wrote to each other, updating each other on Adaâs eventful life as a Shelby still in Small Heath and y/nâs very exciting studying life in London.Â
They had actually planned to meet up, for a nice and quiet drink at the Garrison on her return. The thoughts swirled in y/nâs mind as she approached the Garrison, it had just gone 6pm, and she knew as it was a Friday, she did have a possibly of bumping into her first, arguably her only love. Pushing the thoughts to the back of her head, she pushed open the door to see a fairly crowded Garrison.Â
âAh, y/n, how was London?â Harry shouted, from behind the bar. Y/n smiled at him, walking over to Ada sitting in the back corner. âIt was good Harry, nice to be back in this clear Birmingham airâ. He chuckled slightly, âWhiskey coming up loveâ.Â
Y/n nodded, taking a seat next to Ada, giving her a cuddle, âUnsure if ive missed this place or notâ y/n laughed slightly, eyes scanning the pub, looking for the one man she questioned if she did want to bump into. The pair was throwing back drinks like it was going out of fashion, knowing they would both regret this in the morning. Apparently, Ada wasn't allowing y/n to go back home, and in fact y/n didn't have a home yet and wasn't willing to go back to her parents, so Ada was insisting that she stayed at hers until y/n found a suitable place. Y/n didnt put up a fight, despite them both being hot heads, and taking absolutely no shit from anyone, men or woman, y/n didn't argue. She was actually really thankful for her.Â
They eventually stumbled into the house in the early hours of the morning, their laughs echoing throughout the silent house.Â
::::
The sun caught y/n directly in the eyes, quickly awoke y/n from her sleep. Her head felt as though someone had been hitting her head against the floor multiple times. Y/n continued to lay there, turning away from the sun, trying to keep the contents of her stomach from getting sprayed all over her and the sleeping Ada. She made an attempt at moving, sat with her head in her hands as she was trying to give herself words of encouragement to get up and make herself something to eat.Â
âFuck sake, why do we do this to ourselves?â Ada moaned from behind her. Y/n scoffed, â Your bloody ideaâ.
Quickly standing up, in hope she could get it over with quickly. The room continuing to spin, as she attempted to walk to the door. Ada following closely behind.Â
They both sat slumped over the dining room table, as they attempted to sober up and embrace the oncoming hangover. John now present, laughing at the two dying woman in front of him.Â
âGood night?â
âAlways.â Ada grumbled.
Pol placed a plate in front of them, toast with jam, âDoes Tommy know your back?Â
Eyes falling onto y/n from every person in their, âNo.â answering quietly.Â
Attempting to change the subject, âTold myself I would start looking for a new job today, since I shall be staying here for a decent period of time.â
John raised his eyebrow, âTommyâs looking for a new secretary.â A slight smile on his face, âYou've got a good background, business and thatâ.
âhm, I don't think so Johny boyâ.  Â
âDonât say no too soon, your a good asset to the business.â Pol added. No one was ever in y/nâs corner more than Pol, they would bang heads sometimes, as neither of them would back down. But she accepted y/n was the only one that had the best interest for Tommy.
The front door closed, and there he stood, the room turning to face Tommy, silence filling the room, then he broke it, âHeard you were back.â
âYeah,â she replied quietly.
âWell, you know where I am if you need that job, Iâm sure youâve already been told,â he spoke, cigarette hanging from his mouth, as he walked away from them and into his office.
Y/n let out a breath, as though she hadnât been breathing the whole time he was there. Ada smiled at her, placing her hand onto y/nâs, âIâm just going to get ready for the day love,â and off she went upstairs. The boys getting on with their day, and Pol following suit.
Y/n sat collecting her thoughts while trying to tell herself to face her ex lover, who she was still so deeply in love with. She tapped on the door slightly, opening it before opening it, âhiâ, seeing his eyes flutter onto her shot tingles throughout her body, his eyes quickly looking away
âYou can start tomorrow if you wish, I need a few papers signed and sent tomorrow. I can get your contract drawn up tonight.â He spoke, his eyes still not lifting from the paper in front of him.
âYes, thatâs fine 8am?â
â8.45, shop doesnât open until 9. And there are others to set it up, thatâs not your job.â
Nodding, âI heard you have a new woman.â
At this point he did look up at her, âI heard you had plenty men in London,â
She laughed slightly, nodding before heading to the door, ânone were ever a patch on you,â closing the door, leaving a smirk on Thomas Shelbys face.
The following day came around, as y/n got ready for the day. Putting on a formal black tightly fitted dress, flats and pin curled hair. A slight tint of red lippy, remembering it used to be Tomâs favourite. Assuming Tommy wouldnât be at the shop at this time, she took a whiskey with her placing it on the desk infront of Tommyâs office. The place was silent, despite there being other employees now starting to arrive, something calming about the place, almost the calm before the storm, she thought.
The hour was now around ten thirty, and there was still no sign of Tommy. She had already finished the papers he had left for her on her desk. It wasnât the usual small Heath lady, she was educated, and to a very high level. y/n was sat twiddling her thumbs, awaiting Tommyâs arrival to get other things done.
âY/n. My office please,â his voice low, as he stood behind her. She stood up quickly, following him into the private room.
âThereâs your contract, if you wish to have a read over it. I see youâve finished the work I gave given you for the day.â
Y/n took the contract into her hands, scanning for any mistakes or anything to question. But he actually was paying her nearly double the rate of other staff, and just over that the London rate was, âyouâve done your research eh. More than London rates, impressive. The peakyâs are stepping up in the worldâ Y/n smiled at him, as she placed the documents on the desk, picking up his pen, and signing it. Y/n Y/l/n. Followed with todayâs date. That was now it, she was a Shelby Co Ltd employee.
...
The days turned into weeks, spending time with tommy while no one else was looking was becoming a regular thing. She now had her own place, just doors down from the shop. He would regularly call her into the office, and discuss things that he would usually never utter a word about. It had always been that way with them, since they were little, he would confine in her, telling her all the issue and problems he was facing, both in his mind and with others. But it was also coming to her attention that he was still seeing Grace.
Later on in the day, the clock chimes 11pm, as y/n sat listening to the music that takes her back to a child, while sipping a whiskey. The knock of her front door bringing her out of her daydream, she picked up her handgun that she kept on her at all times. Growing up with The Shelbyâs, she had to protect herself in someway. She kept it behind her, out of view for anyone who was in front of her, slowly creeping up to answer the door. She swung it open, gun clocked and pointed directly in the face of Thomas Shelby. Not wasted, but defiantly had a few.
âAh, can never change a Shelby girl ehâ He spoke, laughing slightly as she lowered the gun and he stepped inside.Â
âAlthough, Iâve never been a Shelby girl, have I Tom?â
âDepends who you ask.â
She sighed, stepping in to the fire lit living room, âDrink?â
He nodded in response, and y/n began to pour him a whiskey, topping up hers and handing a full glass over to him. âWhy are you here?â
He stepped over to her, the closest they had been together since before she left for London. He placed a hand on her back, pulling her head into touch his, their foreheads touching. The sensation ran through her body like the first time they had ever touched. He placed his hand on around the back of her neck, pulling her into him, his lips crashing onto hers. Their tongues intertwining with each others as the kiss started to deepen. Y/n reached for his jacket, pulling it off his back, before making her way on to unbuttoning his shirt. Tommy pulled the bottom of her nightdress up, y/n only allowing the kiss to be broken to allow it to come over her head.Â
Their lips syncing with each other once again as tommy took his now unbuttoned shirt off, moving onto unbuckling his trousers revealing his already hard length. He began to push her back onto the couch, untangling her lace thongs from around her legs. His fingers trailing over her already wet pussy, âDo itâ y/n whispered as she pulled his face back up to kiss hers.Â
He didn't even wait as he shoved his length into her. Their bodies rocked in sync together, âTommy...â Y/n moaned, her fingers trailing down his shirtless torso. The stars were starting to align, the room was warm, full of love. It felt as though it was five minutes but in reality it was around fifteen all in.
Their breath shortened as y/nâs back started to arch as she came close to climax, âcum for meâ. He spoke, looking at her directly in the eyes as he rocked her world. The love, chemistry, love and lust, all so very present just as it was back how they were before. Both of them moaning in pleasure, as they both came at the same time. The deep breaths and steamy windows showing the passion that had just unfolded.Â
::::::::::::::::::::
It was a Friday evening, a week following the night of sin that taken place between Tommy and Y/n. They had still had the talks in private in the office, and on another occasion she was fucked bent over his desk after closing time. Y/n wasn't one to hide her feelings, it would always be present on her face so when it came to facing Grace in the Garrison, it wasn't hard to tell how y/nâs feelings were over her. Â
Pol chuckled softly, clocking the glare Grace was on the opposite end of, âIf looks could killâ Ada joining in on the hilarity.Â
âShe would've been killed 8 times overâ Y/n replied, turning back to face the women. Whiskey in hand.Â
âFeelings still there for him then?â Ada asked.Â
âNo, I wouldnt say soâ y/n lied.Â
âCant lie to a gypsy woman loveâ Pol laughed, y/n begining to laugh with her when the doors open to reveal Tommy and his two bothers. Tommyâs icy blue eyes scanning the room, a slight smile shooting over to Y/n before approching the bar where Grace was, where he stood there for a good twenty minutes chatting away to her.Â
âI cant take this anymore.â y/n looked over to Ada, who was rising her eyebrow while taking a sip of her drink. She was fairly close to them, and y/n being y/n liked to have a slight stir up now and again. She stood up, smile showing on her face as Pol and Ada laughed, watching her approach them both.Â
âSo, hows your little fling going?â she spok loud enough that Pol, Ada, Arthur and John could hear her.Â
âY/nâ Tommy warned.Â
âWho are you?â Grace questioned.Â
âY/N,â she responded, leaning herself against the bar, âThe woman he has fucked behind your back multiple times this week.â
Pol snorted, almost chocking on her drink, â I fucking knew it. Gypsy senses never lie.âÂ
âTo be honest with you Grace, you had absolutely no chance when Y/N came backâ Ada added.Â
At this point, Tommy had moved y/n away from the bar, into the small room, âwhat are you doing?â
âYou cant take the piss out of me, fucking me but then fucking her thinking youll get away with it.â she was pissed, and he could see it in her face. They had never spoke on their feelings toward each other. Everyone knew that it was always each other but there was nothing that compared to them, they always seemed to go back.
âI have always loved you but you left to go to London, I had people follow you. I knew what you were up to so I assumed you would stay down there, I assumed you had moved on.â He spoke, almost showing vulnerability.
âOh I know. I can remember faces Tom. I think you forget I can see right through you,â she seethed, through her teeth, âwhat are you going to do about this?â
Tommy cupped her face, pulling her into kiss her.
âI love you.â He mumbled, feeling her smile into their kiss.
âI love you Tom,â

The weather of the New World was often unforgiving, unpredictable, and at times, untamable. Sometimes, Mother Nature showed she was capable of crossing the limit of Namiâs extended knowledge regarding climate (and God knows her brain was severely infused with every secrets regarding the different kinds of weather, rendering her as a living, walking encyclopedia.) But alas, sometimes the rage of Mother Nature would be thrown upon any poor ship unready to face her wrath in the forms of undying tornados and waves that could reach the sky.
Hence why, every morning, Namiâs prediction on todayâs weather was awaited by all, very much like a prophecy which was often set to come trueâ and if said prophecy announced any kind of weather gravitating around the lexical field of a natural catastrophe, one wouldnât be surprised to perceive Usopp down on his knees in a praying position, diverse and unintelligible wishes to survive Mother Natureâs anger.
Much to the crewâs collective joy, the navigator had announced the most ideal weatherâ sunshine, a slight breeze and no cloud in sight, what appeared to be a regular weather in heaven. And, why of course, such a hot weather meant that both Nami and the local archeologist, Nico Robin, would bathe under the sun and relieve any kind of tension which had settled in after several fights (or just the exhaustion of having to deal with Luffy on a daily basis.)
And there you were, standing like a mannequin in the girlsâ room in company of Nami and Robin, the latter throwing you an amused look at the way Nami was comparing which bikini would look better on youâ the red one, an appeal for passion, or the black one, a statement of boldness? Her brows furrowed in unison at her poor attempt to make a decision, comparing how the colors married the shade of your skin.
ÂŤ Robin, how are we feeling about the red bikini? Itâs so cute, but I have a feeling something is missing⌠ The navigator wondered, her gaze falling on the taller woman next to her.
Robin couldnât refrain from allowing a giggle from leaving her lips, surely it meant that she had her idea, an ill-intentioned one, that is. And, oh well, to say she had just a mere idea was an understatement : as she remained still, Robin summoned a couple of limbs to look for a green-colored bikini hidden in the drawers only to bring it to Namiâs attention. The two women shared a teasing glance, as if they communicated intentions filled with mischief through their eyes alone.
ÂŤ I do believe something was missing, too. Âť Robin trailed off, bringing an index under her chin. ÂŤ Something that might appeal to a certain swordsman. Âť
The evil cackle falling from Namiâs lips announced nothing good, and the sweet tone of her voice only deepened that sentiment. ÂŤ You know how the saying goes : great minds think alike. Âť
ÂŤ Hold on, what are youâ⌠ You began, only to be cut off by the navigator, ÂŤ Yeah, yeah, whatever you have to say, Y/N. Weâre not fools, you know? Youâre going to look like a real stunner with this bikini on, and I know that a certain someone wonât be able to resist. Âť She concluded her sentence with a wink sent your way, boy, sometimes you did understand why Zoro called her a witch at times.
ÂŤ Join us when youâre ready, Y/N. Iâm intrigued to see how this will go. Âť Concluded Robin, accompanying Nami towards the door to let you some privacy so you could change into the bikini, not that you have never changed in front of them and vice versa, but oh well.
You were now all alone, still havenât moved an inch. Your thumb was brushing against the green fabric of the bikini over and over again until it had become some kind of obsession. But the more the motions continued, the more you realized that perhaps there was no other way to get out of this trap glamorously set by Robin and Nami. A sigh of despair left your lips, swearing to yourself that youâd have your payback sooner than later.
The door of the girlsâ bedrooms slammed open, allowing your figure sculpted by the finest hands of the muses of beauty to be exposed to the kisses of the sun. The first sound to rip apart your thoughts was a squeal which left Namiâs mouth, the latter shaking Robinâs forearm with urgency to bring her attention onto you. ÂŤ Robin, Robin! Look at her, isnât she to die for? Iâd bet all my money that Zoro is going to throw himself on her. I mean, just look at her! Âť
The same amused smile graced Robinâs facial traits, lowering her shades just a bit to have a good glance at how the oh so awaited green bikini embraced your body. ÂŤ I must confess that itâs impossible to resist her. Âť
The words leaving her lips became clearer and clearer the more you approached them, a palette of rosy tones sitting proudly on top of your cheekbones at their compliments. ÂŤ We saved you a seat, Miss Iâm-too-sexy-for-my-own-good. Come with us! Âť Nami said, patting the empty spot next to her to which you wordlessly replied with a nod, sitting between her and Robin.
ÂŤ Youâre so evil, I kinda hate you for it. Âť A smile plastered upon your lips as the words died on your tongue.
ÂŤ You love us and you know it. Âť Nami replied, letting her hand lingering on your forearm. ÂŤ Ooh, would you look at that, Robin? The show is about to begin. Âť She concluded, taking a sip out of her cocktail with a gleam of mischief shining in her eyes.
And by show, the navigator undoubtedly meant the sudden appearance of the Sunnyâs resident lover who had stormed out of the kitchen with a plate of different kinds of treats and cocktails for his ladies, spoiling them rotten on sunny days if it meant he could allow his eyes to linger a bit on your bodies in bikinis.
The first act of the show had begun in a flashy manner, as soon as Sanji closed the door leading to the kitchen behind him, the plate he was holding had fell onto the floor, a loud echo reasoning into the swordsmanâs ears who was stuck in a deep state of slumber⌠Until now.
ÂŤ I must have saved a country in my previous life to be worthy of such a privilege. Âť Sanji sobbed, falling onto his knees, ÂŤ Y/N, youâre a goddess amongst us, weâre not worthy, Iâm not worthy of your beauty. I will worship you everyday, I will cover you in love until my very last breath! Âť The cook continued, more and more praises falling from his lips in a continuous cascade as your cheeks were getting more and more red by the second. Alas, the more the blonde sang your praises, the more the swordsman was stirring awakeâ and if there was one thing Zoro hated with passion besides Sanji, it was waking up to loud noises.
Sanji had approached you, on one knee, the back of your hand pressed against his lips as the tears falling from his lips mixed with the blood leaking from his nose. ÂŤ Thank you, my goddess, thank you for blessing my sore eyes. Words canât describe howâ⌠ And he went on and on again, his lips still traveling from the back of your hand to your forearm under Namiâs disgusted stare who yanked you away from him.
ÂŤ My goddessâ⌠
ÂŤ Oi! Do you ever shut up, stupid cook? Âť And despite the numerous occasions on which Zoro and Sanji have fought, Zoroâs words seemed intensely more acerbic, as sharp as the swords laying to his side, which even surprised Sanji.
ÂŤ Were you talking to me, mosshead? Âť Sanji taunted.
ÂŤ I donât see anyone else here acting like a damn fool. Âť Zoro began, his sole eye conveying so much anger you could feel it. ÂŤ Know your place. Âť
Nami elbowed Robin once more, the latter having long forgotten about the book sitting on her lap at this point. Sanji stepped towards the swordsman, dangerously reducing the space between the both of them until their foreheads were touching. There was no frown noticeable on Zoroâs face, but a blank expression which let through a pure anger. ÂŤ She belongs to me, hands off whatâs mine. Âť The swordsman spat, his shoulder hitting Sanjiâs as he walked past him, leaving the cook in a stupor.
ÂŤ Oi! You. Âť He said, pointing at your frame with his index. ÂŤ Follow me. You and I are gonnaâ have a word. Âť
He cursed himself for allowing his gaze to fall on your form, knowing damn well that with each second he spent looking at you in this green bikini (this damn color, he thought), the more he was falling under the spells casted by the muses of lust.
ÂŤ Go get some! Âť Nami whispered, her tongue gracing her bottom lip.
ÂŤ We expect all the details afterwards, my dear Y/N. Âť Robin giggled.
You had barely enough time to form any kind of response that you felt the foreign presence of Zoroâs digits snaking around your wrists and yanking you towards him. ÂŤ Hey, Iâm sure we can talk about this calmly, right? We can chat about it over a drink, Iâll ask Sanji toâ⌠ Alas, your sentence never found its end, your mind going numb at the death glare Zoro sent your way as you mentioned Sanjiâs name. But, paradoxically enough, it only fueled your arousal even more.
Zoro led you to the crowâs nest, trapping you and him both inside the same room. And as the silence grew heavier and heavier, until becoming asphyxiating, Zoroâs snicker broke the silence in the most mischievous way. A look of confusion was painted on your face, and you were quick to point at it. ÂŤ W-What are you laughing at? Âť
ÂŤ Do you think Iâm fucking stupid? Âť Zoro half-asked.
You tilted your head to the side, slowly backing away until your back met the unforgiving surface of the wooden wall. ÂŤ Answer me. Âť He demanded, one of his hand grabbing both of your wrists in one hold pinned above your head whilst his other hand cradled your jaw so you had no choice but devote your attention onto him.
ÂŤ I donât know what youâre talking about. Âť You pleaded, cheeks burning under the rosy tone as you felt his uneven breaths crashing against the column of your neck.
Wrong answer, Zoro shoved his knee between your already trembling legs. ÂŤ You like the attention, hah? You love it when that pervert of a cook was throwing himself on you, is that it? Tch. Âť He was feeding his lust off of the scared expression on your face, blood rushing in the tightest space possible by the second.
ÂŤ No answer, huh? âGuess Iâm gonna have to teach you some manners, because it looks like you forgot who you belong to. Âť And with that, he dug his teeth into the skin of your neck, alternating between biting and sucking motions to form the most ravishing love biteâ a symbol of belonging if you will. You squealed at the sudden sensation of his pearly whites inking his name into your skin, giving him exactly the reaction he was anticipating.
You rocked your hips against the thigh settled between your legs, a desperate attempt at getting some friction for your poor and aching core in need for attention. Zoro clicked his tongue once more at your antics, choosing to hush you by continuing the trail of hickeys adorning your martyr of a neck. ÂŤ Care to explain what youâre doing? Throwing yourself on my thigh because you couldnât get the shit cook, hah? Youâre so fucking desperate, it makes me want to leave you there all alone. Âť
ÂŤ Zoro! Please donât, donât leave me! I just need you, I donât need anyone else but you! I promise Iâll be good but please, please, donât leave me. Âť You pleaded, a clear veil of despair covering your eyes under his impassible expression.
The façade worn off soon, letting a smirk throne amongst his facial features instead. Who do you belong to? Zoro demanded, gliding the hand that was under your chin to your throat and applied just enough pressure to make sure to earn absolute submissiveness out of you.
Y-You⌠ You choked out, the lack of oxygen marrying so well with your growing arousal.
His smirk only grew wider, a real testimony of the sick thoughts implanted in his brain that would make a demon blush. Both of his hand retreated to his side, gaze falling on the unmissable erection showing through his dark pants. His eyes alternated between you and the bulge in his pants, your mouth going dry at the wordless order. ÂŤ If you want to be a whore, then be a good whore and suck me off, yeah? Donât give me those eyes, you want it. Âť
You sunk to your knees, tongue wetting your lips in anticipation for what was bound to come. And whilst your eyes were stuck on his form, your fingers were busy tugging down at his pants to reveal his grey underwear stained with pre-cum. The sight of this alone was enough to send yet another wave of arousal down to your core. And as his cock sprung free from the constriction of his boxers, his girth slapping against his exposed abdomen and the tip rouge from anticipation, you were convinced you couldâve come undone from the sight of this alone.
ÂŤ Suck. Âť He ordered, grabbing a fistful of your hair to force your towards his aching cock and the veil of pre-cum coating the tip.
And thus it began. You flattened your tongue, drawing a large lick from the base of his cock all the way to the tip where you finished with a few kitten licks, knowing damn well the head was where all the nerves devoted to pleasure were hidden. ÂŤ Donât tease and put your mouth to good use, whore. Âť Zoro said, almost betrayed by the groan threatening to be released.
Following the rules of performative language, you began to rock your head back and forth around his cock, making sure that your tongue was coating in a lustful love each inch of his girth whilst hums of pleasure were leaving your lips as you went. The hold of your hair in Zoroâs fist grew tighter and so did the metaphorical knots in his stomach as you went along, until the tip of his cock reached the back of your throatâ such enticing sensation earned a growl out of him. Fuck.
ÂŤ F-Fuck. Look at what youâre doing to me⌠Ah! Shit. Enough! Âť He ordered, yanking your head away from his cock, and the sight of the corners of your mouth dripping with the sweet marriage of his pre-cum and your drool could have provoked an orgasm out of him at this very moment.
ÂŤ Itâs too soon, and itâd be giving you what you want, huh? Too fucking bad, Iâm going to cum in that sweet pussy of yours and youâre gonna love it. Yaâ hear me? Âť He asked without really asking, and taken by a rush of lust, you could only nod in return. ÂŤ Y-Yes. Âť You stuttered. ÂŤ Youâre missing something. Âť Zoro added. You swallowed thickly before adding ÂŤ Yes, yes, sir. Âť Your response caused an ill-intentioned snicker to fall from his lips. ÂŤ Thatâs right. Now get on your back, and make sure to be as loud as you can, I want everyone on this damn ship to hear how I can make you scream. Âť
Zoroâs glorious height forced you to lay back until your spine touched the mattress where all the sins would soon break free. The smirk on his face never left, a pure testimony of what all the sinful deeds he was bound to accomplish. You were now trapped between his forearms, hips circled by his kneesâ bending under his dominance. ÂŤ Did you wear that for me? Âť Zoro asked, slapping the string of the bikini top against your skin.
ÂŤ I d-did, itâs all for you because Iâm all yours. Âť Your response caused a chuckle to break from his lips, sweet words feeding his ego some more. And in a flash, his fingers had ripped said bikini top in half (you made a mental note that you now owed a serious debt to Nami), and there you were, (almost) in all you bare glory. ÂŤ Fuck, if only you knew the things you do to me. Âť
Zoro wasted no time and threw all caution out of the window as his mouth latched onto your breasts, the motions of his tongue around your bud causing your spine to pay homage to the moon from how arched it was. His pink muscle flickered around your nipple before he swallowed your breast whole, his drool covering your flesh in a sinful veil. And because he was such a giver for his pretty girl, he gave the same treatment to the other breast whilst gasps left your lips over and over again at the methodical motions of his tongue, your anatomy held no secret for him.
ÂŤ Are you going shy on me now? Did you forget what I said? Âť He trailed off, reducing the space between his lips and your ear, ÂŤ I said I want you to be fucking loud. Âť
And with that, he left a trail of open-mouthed kisses down your stomach before tearing apart (once more) your poor martyr of a bikini bottom under your desperate attempts to keep it intact. Were you challenging him? Oh well⌠Zoro has always been the type to face any challenge thrown his way. ÂŤ Zoroâ⌠Sir, please! Âť You pleaded, not knowing really why.
ÂŤ Youâre such a desperate little thing, huh? Âť He leaned down to face your core, glistening in its lustful glory for him and him only. Zoro pressed a finger against your folds, dragging it vertically to obtain a finger pad covered in your slicks. ÂŤ So fucking wet for me already? âBet that shit cook canât make you as wet as me. Âť He stated, confidence embedded in his every word. ÂŤ Only you can make me feel this way, sir. Âť You replied before he crashed his lips onto yours in an uncharacteristically sweet manner to cut you off. ÂŤ And whyâs that? Âť The swordsman asked, already knowing the answer. ÂŤ Because⌠Because I belong to you. Âť He pressed yet another kiss against your lips for having given the answer that had been lingering on his mind. ÂŤ Good girl. Âť
Your reward came in the form of his tongue brushing your folds, flickering motions against your sensitive bud sending you in overdrive as continuous waves of pleasure washed over you ceaselessly, the knots in your stomach tightening each time his tongue touched you. Two of his digits poked your entrance, teasing you to let your torture last before they penetrated you. The sudden sensation caused you to let out a dragged whimper accompanied by his name coated in a sinful tone. ÂŤ S-Sir please, please just fuck meâ I canât take the teasing, ahh, fuck, fuck! Please, please! Âť You begged, eyelids shutting close under the pleasure.
But your pleas fell in deaf ears as he kept pumping his fingers in and out of you, sucking onto your sensitive bud to build an orgasm within you that he was bound to deny. He knew you were close by the way you were holding his green hair, tugging him ever closer to your core to amplify the inferno burning within you. But alas, to your greatest displeasure, all the motions ceased in one go under the hint of mischief glowing in his eye.
ÂŤ Youâre gonna cum on my terms, and when I say so. Got it? Âť He seethed, knowing damn well that his own end was going to arrive soon. He gave his girth a few experimental pumps, allowing the pre-cum to cover his length before shoving the entirety of his cock in one go inside you, barely leaving enough time for your cunt to stretch correctlyâ and saying that a elongated moan left your lips was an euphemism, the sick grin plastered upon his face grew more and more as the sounds of pleasure drowned in his eardrums. ÂŤ Youâre so fucking tight, shit! Âť He breathed out, ÂŤ Look at your pretty cunt swallowing me whole. Âť
The rhythm of his hips followed the scheme of a crescendo, each slam of his hips against your derrière drew a clearer portrait of both Zoroâs end and your own climax. The nature of the rhythm itself indicated that he was chasing after his own end, and with his head thrown back and his irises dilated under the hunger to satiate the raging fires breaking loose in his abdomen by the second. ÂŤ S-Sir, it feelsâ Ah! It feels so good! Âť
The tip of his cock kissed ever so precisely the roof of your cervix where a panel of nerves designed to draw a lustful reaction out of you every time he thrusted into you. Your vision became more and more blurry until a liquid veil covered your eyes as pearls of tears gathered at the corners of your eyes. Under the pressure of each of Zoroâs thrusts, your body bent to his will and soon you had no longer control over your legs that used to be around his waist, only to be picked up by the swordsman who threw your legs over his shoulder, thus allowing him to reach a deeper part in you and the cries leaving your lips were just the proof of how good he made you feel.
More and more cries echoed against the wooden walls of the room, your sounds of pleasure marrying the groans falling from his lips in a cascade. ÂŤ Ah, fuck, fuck! R-Right there, please! ShitâŚ! Âť You pleaded to fuel him some more. His nails were digging into the luscious flesh of your thighs, drawing rouge crescents in his wake.
ÂŤ Who do you belong to? Âť He groaned out, his eye admiring the lustful look on your face.
ÂŤ Y-You! I belong to you, fuck, you a-and no one else! Âť You attempted to reply mid-moan.
But as much as Zoro knew your anatomy, you also happened to be an expert of hisâ and the way he planted his nails into your skin, the raw groans loosing their chains to be set free and the way his thighs were shaking⌠Everything announced the beginning of his own end.
Cum with me⌠Now! He ordered, letting his hand crash against your buttcheek in the process. And there it was, the marriage of two lovers under the spell of lust. The rhythm of his thrusts reached their apex, all whilst he painted your walls with the white color of passion. His own cum was mixing with your own elixir of pleasure leaking from your throbbing core as your cunt was clenching around his cock in despair. The sounds of his hips slamming against yours were long gone now, the room was solely filled with heavy breaths and his name falling from your lips over and over again like a forbidden prayer.
Although Zoroâs stamina knew no bounds, he felt like the oxygen had been knocked off of his lungs. But perhaps it was the price to pay if it meant he could observe you in all your post-orgasm glory after holding it inside you for so long. God, he was so proud of you, proud of every mark he had left onto your skin, proud of the way your skin gleamed under the sweat, proud of being your lover.
ÂŤ âS alright, âs alright. Iâm going to pull out, breathe. Âť Zoro demanded, the sweet tone reserved for you only finding its way back around his words. His digits snaked around his girth to pull out of you, only to witness the satisfying marriage of your cum and his own. You were so good to him.
And whilst you remained unable to move, Zoro fell to your side, his arms quick to lock you into an embrace as your head rested on his chest, his frenetics heartbeats echoing in your eardrums. You loved the peace of the aftermath of any sexual activity involving Zoro, you loved how peace seemed to bend his facial features in the most enticing way.
He was the first one to break the silence, pressing his lips against your forehead whilst he tugged you impossibly closer to him like a reminder that you were indeed here, and would always be. ÂŤ So whose plan was this, hah? Âť He asked, earning a giggle out of you in response. ÂŤ It was Namiâs, although Robin helped too. She said I would one hundred percent âget laidâ if I wore this. Âť You answered, head tilting towards the poor green bikini torn in pieces.
ÂŤ That witch can go to hell. Âť Zoro groaned, but the raw tone of his voice was betrayed by the sweet caresses of his digits down your forearm.
ÂŤ I mean, her plan did happen so I think itâs a win for her. Itâs not like you regret what happened, mhm? Âť Alas, nothing but silence in return. ÂŤ Zoro? Âť You called him, but an angel passed. ÂŤ Zoro! Âť You repeated more sternly, and this time you were met with the sound of his snoresâ of course, typical Zoro fashion.
Well, you knew who you were going to thank now.

A good role model
Hello! Thanks to @amalianetwork for helping me out with this story. Its a bit shorter than what I usually post on here, but it struck some heart strings inside of me. I hope you enjoy it.
Twitter | Blog
âCome on Matt! Weâre going to be late for the festival!â
The excited shrieks came from a young child not older than ten years of age. His wavy blonde hair was encased in a blue baseball cap, and he was wearing an old button shirt. He was grabbing the hand from an older young man, pulling him forward with haste. Both boys looked very alike, age being the most differentiating factor between them.
âEase up Cole, your number starts at seven. Thereâs plenty of time.â
âYes, but I want to rehearse one time before the show. Mrs. Davis said all kids in our class had to meet an hour before to practice our songâ
Matt advanced reluctantly, feeling uneasy in his attempt at formal attire. He adjusted his badly-knotted tie and tried his best in accommodating his oversized shirt. But he knew it was a necessary sacrifice, because this was supposed to be Coleâs âbig nightâ. He would do anything for his little brother, even if it meant dressing as a buffon. The boys were rushing through the parking lot of the local theatre, amongst a sea of other families heading to the entrance. They entered the building and immediately headed backstage to deliver Cole to his class. Matt made sure his small bowtie was in place, but when he tried to take the cap from him, Cole swatted his hand away.
âCole, you know youâll get in trouble if you throw a fit over that cap again. All the kids in your class have to be dressed the same.â
Cole pouted and grabbed his head with both hands, securing it on his head.
âPlease let me keep it. Iâm scared to perform without it.â
âOkay you win. Just this one time though. Youâre a big boy now, there are some rules you have to follow.â
âYouâre the best Matt!â, said the little boy hugging his brother.
âJust remember to have lots of fun! Iâll be watching you from the front rows. And remember, once your act is over we gotta go.â
âThat's not fair! Mrs. Davis is gonna take us all for pizza once the show is over.â
âIâm sorry C. You know Aunt Gertrude doesnât like it when we go out late.â
âI donât like Aunt Gertrude. Sheâs mean.â
Matt kept a straight face not to give a bad example, but he knew what his brother was talking about. Their aunt was a real menace sometimes. Especially when her rules were disobeyed.
âDonât be like that buddy. Aunt Gertrude has been nice to us, so we have to obey the rules of her house. Besides, Iâll take you for pizza on the weekend. What do you say?â
âYay! Thanks Matt. Iâll hurry up after the show, I promise. See you later!â
Cole then turned around and sprinted towards his group. Matt looked at his brother tenderly, remembering all they have gone through together. The blue cap was originally his, a gift from their father. They never had a lot to begin with, and after his parents were gone, the cap was one of the only mementos he had from them. He remembered hugging it terrified, as the police explained to him with gruesome detail for a twelve year old how his parents had been killed in a mugging. Cole had been only five at the time. Their aunt was their only living relative, so they were placed in her house. Cole couldnât stop crying during the first night, so Matt gave him the blue cap and told him as long as he had it, his father would be there with him. Five years had passed, and the little boy still took the cap everywhere. Convincing Cole to take it off to wash it was a real hassle sometimes, but Matt managed. He was a good big brother after all.
Matt went to his seat and watched the recital in silence. Group after group they performed, excited families bursting in applause every time their kid went onstage. The young man was growing increasingly nervous, watching the minutes turn into an hour. The show was taking too long, which meant arriving at his auntâs too late and having to deal with her wrath. He was lost in thought when suddenly Coleâs group was onstage. He cheered and applauded his little brother, who along with his classmates presented a potpourri of popular songs. He immediately recognized him due to the blue garment sticking out of the sea of white shirts. Once the number was done, he stood up from his seat and went to meet his brother backstage to take him to their auntâs.
Their Aunt Gertrude was a solitary woman, preferring to live alone and far away from any other neighbor. The little house stood right at the edge of the woods, standing lonely amongst the dark trees. The car was parked on the driveway, so Matt knew immediately their aunt was home. He prepared mentally for the fit she was about to throw when she saw them coming in through the door. Once they made it inside, he sent Cole straight to his room and went into the living room, where his aunt was sitting on her usual chair watching TV.
âSo, look who finally decided to show up. This isnât a hotel you know.â, said the fat woman looking hatefully at the scrawny teenager.
âI know Aunt Gertrude. Cole had a school event he couldnât miss, so we stayed out until late.â
The woman sneered at Matt, and then continued watching her show.
âYou know misbehavior has consequences right? You were out past dinner time, so there won't be any dinner for you.â
Matt felt the rage coming up from his stomach. He disliked the woman a lot, but he knew she was the only reason the brothers were allowed to stay together. She knew that too, so she made sure to exploit that fact every time she could. He didnât mind missing dinner, he was used to it. But Cole had to eat, or his stomach would hurt again and he wouldn't be able to sleep.
âI can miss out on dinner today and tomorrow if you want, but let Cole eat something. It was a tough day for him.â
âYou shouldâve thought that before breaking the rules. Rules are necessary, or else you will end up like your good for nothing dad. He got my sister killed, you know. Only a bad person does that.â
Matt tightened his fists so hard his nails dug into his skin causing some bleeding. His father was his auntâs favorite subject, always belittling and berating him. But he was a good man, very hardworking. A real example for Matt. His only mistake was being in the wrong place at the wrong time.
âDonât you dare talk about himâŚâ, he grumbled quietly. His aunt let out a cruel cackle, and glared at him angrily.
âOr what? You are just like him, you know. A useless dead weight under my roof. But not for long. You got one more night. After that, youâre turning into an adult, which means you gotta earn yourself a life.â
Matt had been so busy with his brother that he had completely forgotten about his birthday the day after. His aunt had been telling him she was going to kick him out that same day, but he always thought she said that only to intimidate him. Thinking about leaving Cole with that monster alone sent a chill down his spine.
âAre you serious?â
âDo I look like Iâm joking you little asshole? As soon as youâre eighteen, youâre legally not my problem anymore. Besides, itâs good you learn how the world works. Not that your father ever taught you that. In fact, I think Cole was lucky to grow up without his bad example!â, said the woman laughing loudly. âNow, better get your shit ready. Iâm calling farmer Joe tomorrow to see if he has some job for you. If youâre lucky he might even let you stay in the barn with the rest of his boys. Now, get out of my sight. My next showâs about to start.â
Matt just turned around and left completely speechless, hearing the loud music from the TV and his aunt laughing as he went upstairs to his room. Cole was already showered and wearing his pajamas, the blue cap still on his head. Matt sat down next to him on his bed, trying to keep his composure and not burst into tears.
âListen Cole, I have to tell you something,'' he said, his voice faltering as he struggled to find the right words. âYou know tomorrow is my birthday, right?â
âOf course! I wouldnât forget. I even wrote it in my calendar to get you some chocolate.â, he said excitedly before realizing he just ruined the surprise. âOh no, I just ruined your present.â
âNo buddy, it's okay. You know I love chocolate.â, said Matt grabbing the little boyâs head. âBut listen, tomorrow Iâll be eighteen. And that's a very special number. So special, that people invite you to participate in certain activities!â
âWhat do you mean?â, asked Cole with a puzzled look on his face.
âWell, farmer Joe has invited me to his special club on his land, so Iâm very excited I can go now. Thereâs only one small problem, I have to go sleep there too so I can do everything the guys there do.â
Cole just stared at his brother, tears welling up behind his eyes.
âYouâre gonna leave?â
âDonât be sad buddy. This is a great opportunity for me! Besides, Iâll come to visit you every day, I promise.â
Cole threw himself at Matt, his little arms embracing him as strong as they could. Tears ran down his rosy cheeks, and he could barely articulate the words due to the knot in his throat.
âBut I donât want you to go! I donât want to be alone in this house. Iâm scared.â
âI know buddy, I know.â, said Matt hugging his little brother. âBut listen, remember what I told you about that cap? As long as you have it, dadâs going to be here with you. And so will I.â
Both brothers embraced for hours, refusing to let each other go. Cole cried until he fell asleep, so Matt tucked him into bed and waited until it was late enough to go down and steal some food for the boy. His aunt went to bed just before midnight, so he had to wait until she was gone to go to the pantry. He was almost falling asleep when he heard the TV going off, and the heavy steps of his aunt going into her room. He hesitantly stepped out of their bedroom, and swiftly went down to get some food for Cole. His body was very light, so that helped him move silently on the wooden floor. He brought up some snacks, leaving them on Coleâs night table, completely missing the clock just striking midnight.
He went to the bathroom to get ready for bed. Taking off the horrible oversized shirt he stared at himself in the mirror. He was practically just skin and bones, lacking the proper nutrition and exercise for a good development during puberty. His dirty blonde hair was pulled back on a bun, looking just a shade darker than his brotherâs. His aunt was right, he was pathetic, scrawny and weak. Barely a fitting example for Cole. But he didnât want his brother to grow up without him. It was already bad enough he had to grow up without a dad, only to have his big brother be taken away too. He wished that both of them could stay together. That he was enough for his little brother, so he could provide him with the life he deserved.
The lights in the bathroom flickered, and the window was suddenly opened by a strong gust of wind, startling Matt. He started to get lightheaded, grabbing the small sink to prevent himself from falling. âItâs probably hungerâ, he said to himself. But the more seconds passed, the worse he felt. He started sweating cold, drops falling down his face and his pale body. He watched a shadow creep over his skin, thinking he was starting to faint from starvation. When he raised his hand to touch the darkness, rough bristles greeted his fingertips. He was growing hair, all over his body. He watched it get longer and thicker, a thick mat covering his chest, and crawling down his flat stomach painting a thick treasure trail on his skin. Tufts of hair poked out from under his arms, his sparse armpit hair getting far denser. The shadow then climbed up his neck, fully flourishing on his face to form a short beard. Matt felt its roughness with the palm of his hand, fully enthralled by the sensation.
He then felt his bones elongate, shooting him a few inches towards the roof and lengthening his limbs. He looked like that creature slender-something kids were so obsessed about. Once his skeleton finished its growth, the muscles followed suit. He felt incredible heat emanating from his body, as each muscle twitched and grew to enormous size. Size packed on his chest, fully forming two massive pillow-like pecs sticking out from his torso. His cleavage was so deep he could probably put his entire thumb in it, and probably crush it too if he squeezed hard. Muscle packed on his shoulders as well, growing like two bowling balls. It made him look monstrously wide, fully condemning him to a life of having to go through doors sideways. His arms surged with power and grew as well, fully surpassing the width his legs had before. Thick hairy pythons hung to each side of him, resting at an angle due to the thickness of his triceps. His back then rounded out like a shield and expanded into a hairy muscular landscape. The lats were so big they looked like the could fall off of him at any moment.
He heard his stomach grumble, as it blew forward sticking out just a few inches behind his chest. Thick abs could be seen on the curve of his belly. His ass blew his dress pants into oblivion, each cheek swelling like a Christmas turkey. The legs followed suit, thickening into titanic proportions, powerful enough to sustain such a heavy top. Even his feet grew a few sizes, fully completing his transformation. Matt just stared at his new body speechless, feeling control over each fiber. He flexed his big arms, and bounced his heavy chest. A deep chuckle left his throat, and he realized his voice grew much deeper as well. He was so entertained by his new figure, he missed the clumps of hair falling from his head. His hair thinned out a little bit, and shortened itself into a clean cut, contrasting with its previous unkempt image.
Matt looked like a new man. His kid used to tell him he looked the size of a barn, just like that Disney song he liked from the film with the talking furniture. He was very bad with names, but he knew what movies his son liked. Matt scratched his head, confused by the thought of having a child. He was only eighteen, barely old enough to have a kid. But a body like this couldnât belong to a young kid. A body like this took years of dedication, of pain and sweat, of discipline. He looked like the perfect dad, strong enough to protect, and big enough to climb over like a jungle gym. Matt smiled looking at himself in the mirror. His features changed and rearranged themselves into those of a masculine man. His nose was bigger and his brow stuck further out. Even a cleft formed on his now square jaw. He looked tough, but also lovable.
The maelstrom of memories fully blew Mattâs mind away, turning him into a perfect dad. He felt his dick snake up under his belly, and his balls drop lower and heavier like a mature plume, virile enough to spread his seed wherever he wanted. The rush of testosterone triggered more changes in him. His muscles got denser, more lived in. Crow feet printed themselves next to his eyes, and his skin got rougher fully aging two full decades.
âIâm one sexy motherfucker.â, grunted Matt, flexing before the mirror. He dedicated years of hard work and discipline to his body, and it showed. He loved the tight feeling of a shirt about to burst due to his titanic arms, or how the buttons popped open on their own due to his heavy chest. But even his glorious physique wasnât his most valuable treasure. That was his son.
Reality rearranged itself around Matt, as memories of Cole growing up with him changed into those of a father raising his son. He remembered how tiny he looked when he held him in his arms, or how scared he looked when Matt dropped him in kindergarten for the first time. He remembered the recitals, the little league games, the birthday parties, the nights with Cole on his bed due to a nightmare, the camping trips. Everything he did, and had, was for his son. He was happy to grow up next to him, so he could teach him about the same hard work and discipline he put into his own life. Hopefully, Cole would grow up to be a good man like his father. And with those genes, hopefully big and strong too.
When Matt came back to his senses, he was standing in a nicely furnished bathroom. He adjusted the glasses on his face, and checked himself one last time before going out. The short sleeved shirt looked perfectly fitted to his big body, his arms almost ripping the tight sleeves apart. He came out of the bathroom to find the luxurious interior of a suburban home. He wanted his kid to have all his necessities covered. The memory of the tiny house in the woods and the monster within fully erased from existence.
âCome on Cole, you donât wanna miss out on a good pizza, do you?â, he shouted, his deep bass shaking the foundations of the house.
âIâm coming dad!â
Young Cole came rushing down the stairs. His blonde hair shined brighter, and his blue eyes sparkled with excitement. He took his coat and headed towards the front door, where his dad was waiting for him. Matt noticed the small blue cap on the little table next to the door.
âArenât you gonna wear your cap?â, he said, handing it to his son. Cole just smiled at his dad, and turned the cap away.
âIâm not scared anymore dad. I donât need it.â
Matt just smiled and opened the door for Cole. The happy family then headed out into the sunshine to live the rest of their lives together. Nothing would be able to separate them.

tiny dancer ; chapter one
Pairing: bucky barnes x fem!reader, platonic!Steve x fem!reader
Prologue | Chapter 2
Word count: 1.2k+Â (sorry its so short)
Warnings: fluff, angst if you squint, mentions of war, let me know if in anyway something upsets you and Iâll add that here.Â
Summary: After being drafted for the war in 1942, Bucky goes to the ballet a week before having to leave with his best friend Steve. There he becomes infatuated you with the prima ballerina of the show, and he just has to meet you before his last week in Brooklyn is up. He hopes one day you would meet again; little does it know it will be 72 years later.
A/N: Itâs going to take me a bit to develop a smooth story line because there's so much backstory I need add, whilst still trying to make it engaging. Anyway thank you all for the likes and reblogs on the prologue, please let me know what you think of this next part. (Also I know some of this isnât accurate to the movie and time in general but I think it still works.)

Present day ; 2014
You looked upon the figure before you, trying to work out if it was who you thought it was.
Like many heroes and villains alike, you had a back story, and times like this called you to look back and dwell on how what was once a kind girl could barely be recognised behind your blank expressionless eyes. You felt nothing. Only numbness, and there was reason for that.
1943
After Bucky had left you kept in contact with Steve, catching up with him every so often. That was until he was finally allowed to join the war, and you bided farewell to your new friend. Hoping that one day you would see them again: sooner rather than later.
Not much long after word got around about Captain America. You could barley  recognise your friend. Though from what you had heard he was still the same Steve, just a lot bigger and stronger. Like many things the ballet company you danced for had to close, most men and women were being sent away, many of colleagues had been sent to aid in the medical units of bases and camps. Part of you waited to receive a piece of paper in the mail informing you that you had to go as well. It never came.
One day though you did receive a letter, but not one you had expected.
âDear y/n,
As Iâm sure you have heard and seen, Iâm no longer much like I was when I left. Though I would like to hope I am still the same man I was before âCaptain Americaâ â and by that I am appreciative of the few friends I made before as they looked beyond what was displayed on the outside and more towards the inside.
Anyway, I didnât write to you to boast or ramble on much more, but I have a job offer for you. You are one of the finest dancers I (and Bucky of course) have ever laid eyes on and so as Captain America is supposed to go on tour, I hoped you may want to be one of my back up dancers. I know for a fact that you will steal the show though.Â
Most of the girls have already been picked but I called in a favour to ask for you to join as well, I only had to mention you being Prima ballerina and the team were very invested in having you join us.
Iâm in town at the moment, but we leave tomorrow. If youâre interested have your bags packed, someone will pick you up at 10am sharp.
I hope to see you tomorrow.
Kind regards,
Your friend Steveâ
You gasped as his thoughtfulness, barely having to think over this proposition.
Of course, you would go, not only would you be able to continue what you loved, but you would also be helping the war in some way. It was even better you got to work alongside a friend. Your mind drifted slightly, perhaps you would see Bucky as well.
You ran from your living room and began frantically packing your bags with the essentials, and anything dance related you thought you may need. You werenât sure what they would be providing.
- Â Â Â Â
Just as heâd said, a car picked you up driving you to an airport where you would catch a private âstarkâ plane with the other dancers. You looked around for your friend, disappointed when you couldnât see him.Â
Reaching up to put your bag above your seat, you heard a voice half whisper excitedly behind you.
âYou came!â, This caused you to jump as you whipped your head around. There stood Steve, aka Captain America, aka The star spangled man with a plan. Except this time, he was no longer the small man who was constantly picked on when you had known him. Now he was easily 6 foot as you had to look up to meet your friends smiling face.
âSteve!â you responded, engulfing him in a hug causing him to chuckle. You let go of each other and you raised your eyebrow at him.
âAnd of course, I came silly!â
Most of the time after that was a blur.
You wore a costume that you were sure was too short for the era, covered in Stars and Stripes. Although it wasnât ballet it didnât matter as youâd trained in various genres, although it was much easier than any of the dancing you had done before. You girls were known as The Star Spangled Singers.Â
It was great getting to see Steve again and you made great friends with the other women who you worked amongst. Of course, there were always whispers about how you knew Steve, rumours flying around about the two of you. You and Steve knew they werenât true, your heart belonged to another soldier, one you still hadnât seen. Steveâs belonged to Peggy which he had told you about early on when youâd joined him.
Steve was such a kind man, and he was always grateful for the life he now lived but you knew he wished to help more rather than stand on stage surrounded by women spreading war propaganda.
The tour was coming to an end for the moment as the war got more intense. Your last trip to the final base of some American soldiers, which you had to admit you were most excited for as you hoped you would see Bucky. He hadnât been at any of the others. You also knew you would finally meet the wonderful Peggy, both Steve and you were beyond excited.
The plane carrying you girls and Captain America finally landed. Everyone excitedly got off, many ready to see their fathers, brothers and boyfriends whom they hadnât seen in a very long time. You on the other hand were struggling to find a necklace you owned which had somehow fallen off and you fell behind everyone.
âY/n! Are you coming?â, yelled Steve leaning in from the planes doorway.
âIâll be out in a minute,â you replied, âIâve just lost something, Iâll meet you by the camp!â
Steve nodded and left leaving you there to frantically look for your beloved necklace. A gift from Bucky he had given to you a couple days in from knowing him. It was a dainty silver necklace, with two ballet shoes as the charm, you love it. Not just because it was pointe shoes but because it was from Bucky out fo thoughtfulness.
Finally, you found it after was seemed forever, you carefully placed it in your pocket as the clasp had broken off and you couldnât put it back on. You grabbed your bag and walked of the plane, turning to your right to head to the camp, seeing Steve in the distance you smiled as you watched him talk to a woman who you knew had to be Peggy. Your eyes wandered next to him as you gasped at who stood there chuckling at something that had been said. Bucky.
That was the last thought you had when suddenly you were overcome by blackness and you dropped to the ground.
Present day ; 2014
You shook your head removing yourself from your thoughts, as you ran after the figure which had caused your mind to spin. He was fast, but so were you.
Everyone had known this man as a ghost, someone who had been around for over 50 years killing innocent people under the name of The Winter Soldier. But even under his face mask, and dark eye makeup he wore. Though you werenât sure how it was possible; you knew who that really was. Â
James Buchanan Barnes.
It seemed you werenât the only one with a tragic story.

Lovestruck (Finale)
Part 4
Pairing: Professor Erwin x Fem! Reader, Connie x Sasha
Word Count: 2K
A/N: A huge thanks to everyone who stuck around for this series and showed it some love. also, if you haven't already go check out the playlist I made that gives professor Erwin vibes :)
âSorry Iâm late, Mr. Smith,â you squeaked as you squeezed past the door into the old familiar room. âHope you didnât haveta wait too long,â you smiled apologetically.
Erwin turned around, looking up from the whiteboard he was writing away on. He smiled handsomely, quietly sighing in relief, âactually, youâre right on time as usual.â He closed the distance between you before placing a kiss on your forehead. âHow muchâd you spend? Iâll pay you back,â he reassured you as he led you towards his desk.
âYou can pay me back by coming to movie night,â you purred, quickly throwing the idea out there as you took a seat on his desk. You rummaged through the plastic bag, taking out two to-go boxes as Erwin rolled his desk chair over. âYouâve been officially invited by Thing One and Thing Two. And theyâll probably lose their shit if I show up without you.â
âSasha and Connie, right?â he confirmed. You hummed in response. Erwin tensed up momentarily once he saw you sitting on his desk, sinful thoughts running rampant in his mind. He was curious how much of a good girl youâd be for him. Or if youâd let him eat something else for lunch. It didnât make it any better that you still had his shirt on. A blush painted his cheeks as he pushed the thoughts down, plopping in his seat and scooting closer until he was sitting between your legs, âIâd love to, darling.â
A comfortable silence fell over the two of you, occasionally broken by strings of giggles as you stuffed your faces with the Chinese food you brought. You took turns feeding spoonfuls of each other's food to the other, goofy, uncontrollable, lovestruck smiles printed on your faces. There was so much you both wanted to say to each other, wanting to ask about the otherâs day, or ask trivial things, or address what you were. But neither could muster the courage to break the moment. So instead, you spoke through lingering touches and longing gazes.
âErwin,â a familiar voice said dryly, followed by the footsteps of them entering the room. âFound your sandwich in the fridge in the staff room.â Erwinâs eyes went wide, more surprised about being caught than the actual sandwich. âFigured Iâd bring it before you starve.â
You sent Erwin a playfully threatening glare, âyou had food?! I- you little,â you quickly hissed, stopping short as Erwin apologetically squeezed your thigh.
Erwin chuckled embarrassedly, removing the hand on your thigh to scratch the back of his neck. âI mustâve forgot.â He looked back and forth between you and Levi, both of you looking back at him with unconvinced expressions. He was busted for sure.
âRight,â Levi drawled out as his eyes scanned the desk, taking in the to-go boxes and how close you and Erwin were sitting. âAt least youâre not starving. And glad to see the two of you finally grew a pair and made things official.â
âW-well,â you stuttered, to no avail. Levi was already walking out of the room, muttering something about how you should at least lock the door. Gradually, your shock shifted into overconfidence. âMissed me that much, huh? Pretty lame excuse if you ask me.â
âShouldnât be much of a surprise, darling,â Erwin cooed, his blue eyes practically filled with hearts. It felt like butterflies were coursing throughout his entire body as you leaned down to kiss him. It was short and sweet, just a lingering peck, yet you left him breathless. âY/n, I- um.â He could feel the tips of his ears growing uncomfortably warm. Your soft giggles werenât helping either. âHold on.â
You watched as Erwin struggled to hold onto his cool. It was still weird, no matter how many times you saw him grow flustered. He was the gorgeous giant of a man that left men and women alike flustered, yourself included. Yet, you always seemed to be the one to turn the tables without doing anything but being yourself. He wasnât some Greek God, okay, well looks-wise, yes. And personality-wise. Okay, maybe he was a Greek god, but that didnât stop him from being a friendly giant or a big cinnamon roll around you.
âI, uh,â he quickly glanced up at you before returning his focus to the journal he pulled out of his desk drawer. âI got you this,â he held the small journal out to you.
You gingerly took it from him. A thin gold rope chain tucked away in the journal as a bookmark tapped your hand as it swayed from the movement. You prayed he couldnât see the way your cheeks grew warm as you opened the journal to the page the chain rested against. In the center of the lined paper lay a key strung on the chain. The key wasnât anything fancy, just a plain house key that covered a neatly written note. You glanced up at Erwin momentarily before moving aside the key to read the note aloud. âI fell in love with her courage, her sincerity, and her flaming self-respect. And itâs these things Iâd believe in, even if the whole world indulged in wild suspicions that she wasnât all she should be. I love her, and it is the beginning of everything. F. Scott Fitzgerald,â you read, your throat growing tighter with every word.
âI donât want you to feel like Iâm rushing anything,â Erwin quickly spoke up once you finished reading. âI just, well, I figured you could use my place as a place to write and get some inspiration. I donât want to pressure you, though. This can be completely platonic, and we can ignore-.â
You set the journal aside and stopped his nervous rambling with a kiss. Your lips moved lazily against each other, savoring everything from the moment to the taste of one another. Time seemed to slow as you lost yourself in the softness of his lips and the warmth of his hands on your hips. You could feel him surrendering to you, giving you everything he could until he was left with nothing, not even a breath⌠until you reluctantly pulled away. You rested your forehead on his, your eyebrows knitted together as you tried to catch your breath enough to say something.
âAnd for a moment, I thought I loved him,â you breathed, altering the quote slightly to fit the situation more. Your breath fanned across his lips, giving him visible chills as you continued, âbut I am slow-thinking and full of interior rules that act as brakes on my desires.â
âCommitting Great Gatsby quotes to memory, are we,â Erwin teased, his voice husky as he finally managed to catch his breath.
âOnly the most beautiful ones thatâll impress my professors, er, used to be professors.â
âConsider the job done then.â Erwin looked at you like you were the only one, not just now, but forever. His ocean eyes shone like he was looking at the sun, and in a way, he was. You always were a star that he couldnât help but gravitate to. He lost you for a while, but just like the planets orbiting around the sun, he managed to find his way back to your warmth.
You reached out and pushed a stray hair back into place, ânot polite to stare, baby. Even if ya look cute doing it.â
âDance with me,â Erwin blurted. He needed to hold you, to bask in your warmth. He wanted to do what he shouldâve last night, holding you close as you swayed to music that could better articulate the feelings he has for you.
âWhat?â
Erwin chuckled and shrugged, âdance with me, and Iâll stop.â He stood up with a devilish grin on his face. âJust one dance?â
âErwin, I donâ think this is the place-â you were cut off by Erwin scooping you up into his strong arms bridal style. You held onto him despite feeling utterly safe as he maneuvered his way out of the classroom. âBaby, where are you taking me?â you squealed with childlike giddy.
âTo a place we can dance,â Erwin looked down at you with a wicked smile as he walked out of the building with you still cradled close to his chest. The soft drizzle of rain welcomed the both of you, which made you squeal and hurriedly attempt to cover your head.
âErwin Smith, take me back inside before I kick your ass!â
âNo, can do; you said we couldnât dance in the classroom.â He sent a kind smile to the people passing by. âBesides, as sweet and sugary as you are, you wonât melt.â
âYou donât know that.â You smacked your hand against his chest, âI hate you right now.â The soft drizzle was gradually becoming a steady stream of droplets that made any efforts to protect your hair futile. With a huff, you gave up, allowing the rain to return your hair to its natural state gradually. âHappy now?â
Erwin kissed the tip of your nose before gently setting you back on your feet underneath a large canopy tree. The twinkle of mischief in his eyes was a stark contrast to the soft apologies that tumbled from his mouth. âI promise, messing up your hair was not part of the plan.â His eyes flitted up to your curling hair, a proud smile forming on his face, âI was right, though. You look absolutely amazing, darling.â
You rolled your eyes, hoping itâd distract from the bashful smile tugging on your lips. âOne dance,â you held up a finger for emphasis. âThatâs it.â
âJust the one,â he gently pressed his lips against yours. âUnless you beg for more.â His laugh rumbled in his chest like quiet thunder as you playfully swatted his arm.
âWell, Mr. DJ, whatâre gonna dance to?â
âNo idea,â Erwin admitted with a bashful smile, looking up from his phone. âJust wanted an excuse to hold you close.â The soft, familiar strumming of a guitar filled the air before he slipped his phone back into his pocket.
With an outstretched hand, he looked at you with such genuine adoration that for a second, you forgot how to breathe. You slipped your hand into his, allowing him to guide your hands towards his shoulders. It felt silly, dancing in the middle of campus in the rain, and at the same time, it felt so surreal, like you two were straight out of a book.
âOnly fools rush in,â Erwin quietly sang as he slid his hands around your hips. âBut I canât help fallinâ in love with you.â He had a smooth, calming singing voice like he was born to be a crooner. He didnât sing around others often, not sober at least, but something about you made him feel like it was the right thing to do at this moment. Every word that fell from his lips was for you, and you only as you both sway in time with the music. He was yours, and the look in your eyes told him you were his.
You pressed yourself closer to him, the rest of the world slipping away. He was too warm, made you feel too secure for it to be reality. And yet, here he was, the man you secretly fell for years ago was in your arms singing Canât Help Falling in Love to you. The increasing heaviness of the rain or people staring didnât matter. Nothing mattered except him.
âI-,â you jumped at the sound of your ringtone, sending you plummeting back to reality with wide eyes. âS-sorry, I gotta,â you trailed off sheepishly as you pulled your phone out of your pocket before accepting the facetime call.
Erwin paused the music for you, trying to stay as quiet as possible as he played with your newly formed curls. It was hard for him to fight back the awestruck look on his face as your hair seemed to grow curlier by the second.
âDid you do it? Please tell me you did? Iâll do it for you,â Sasha bombarded you once you answered. She paused with wide eyes at the sound of Erwinâs amused chuckle. âOh, my- is that him? Hi, Erwinie!â
âWait, she did it?â You could hear Connie yell from somewhere offscreen. âHa! You owe me twenty!â
You smiled apologetically at Erwin, who seemed quite amused with the situation. âHi, Sasha,â Erwin cut in, laughing at the way she swooned after he said her name. âIf weâre being technical, I was the one who did it.â
âHa! I only owe you ten,â she exclaimed, sending Connie a face before focusing back on you and Erwin. âShe invited you to movie night, right?â
âAbout that, why donât you two come over to my place? Iâll even cook.â
âCareful before I steal him from you,â Sasha laughed. She was practically drooling already at the thought of free food.
âI appreciate the sentiment, but thereâs only one girl for me.â He looked down at you with a confident smile, âsheâs all I want and need.â
âWhat about guys?â
âEw, you two are so cute itâs gross,â Sasha talked over Connie. âGet off my phone before ya make me sick.â
âGladly,â you mused, giggles bubbling in your chest. âSee yâall later.â You hung up before they could say anything else and turned your focus to Erwin. âI feel the same way, just so you know. Think youâre it for me.â
âI sure hope so cause I donât plan on losing you again.â

The Smell of Plum Blossom Tea Ch 11
Summary:Â Just like a butterfly wing, a single act of kindness can change the course of the future, it certainly did for MK as a black furred monkey put out a hand towards him.
Rating: Teen and up
Chapter 11: Itâs a Bittersweet Reunion
âMonkey King!â MK quickly stood up as he rushed towards his mentor, âitâs not what it-â he quieted down as he felt Monkey King glint ominously as he stared him down.
âYou should probably listen to starlight there,â Macaque tried to say, but he sighed when the stare was directed back to him, but a lot more threatening.
âWhat have you done to him!?â
âOr you can just ignore me,â he sighed dramatically, but his entire body was buzzing in anticipation for the first strike. He knew how this is all gonna go down whether he likes it or not. So he takes a step forward with his hands out and says, âlook Wukong, itâs-â then promptly stops as the Monkey sage takes a step towards him.
âDonât you take another step forward,â he growled out.
âLook Wukong-â
âDonât call me that.â
âI refuse to call you Monkey King, so Wukong,â he emphasized. He didnât call him Monkey King back then and he sure as hell is not about to start now. âOpen your fucking ears and listen, Iâm not gonna hurt the kid.â
âNice try, but Iâm not buying it,â he watched his every twitch, just waiting to see when he would strike.
âBut Iâm not, you really think Iâd hurt a kid?â
Wukong said nothing, but his narrowed eyes were all the answer he needed.
Macaque sucked in a sharp breath and gritted his teeth shut as his nails dug into the palm of his hands. He tried his best to ignore the hushed whispers in his head that begged him to show him real fear. Show how deep our shadows can take him. Show him how to see with one eye like him. Show him painpainpainpain. Then he let the air harshly out of his nose as clenched his teeth as he growled out. âYou really think that low of me huh.â
âAfter what you did to them,â he shifted his foot back and gripped tightly onto his staff, âit does make me question a few things.â
The six eared demon couldnât stop the jealousy and irritation that flowed through his mind when he heard those venomous words. Didnât stop his hands from shaking nor his eyes or ears from twitching.
âWhat were you doing with MK,â he repeated himself.
âOh some herb gathering, Iâm out of stock you know,â he sarcastically said.
âIf you're going to lie, at least think of a more feasible story,â Mac really wanted to rip off his tongue at that, âtell me the truth.â
âOr what?â
âBut itâs true!â MK tried to say, but it seemed that his words were ignored.
âOr Iâll make you,â he let the golden energy roll over him as he stood in front of his student.
âJust try it,â he taunted as his own violent aura emerged and coiled around him. He knew where this was headed, but at this point he didnât care, he wanted to vent out all his frustrations to this dumbass monkey for a long time. He sent over a glance to MK, who looked to be on the verge of a mental breakdown, to stand far away.
He heard it loud and clear as he opened and closed his mouth repeatedly before running as far as he could.
Then, in less than a heartbeat, there was a loud sound that blasted out as the two monkeys collided together in a burst of torrent energy.
BOOM BOOM BOOOOOM
They separated as the blow blew them both back, but Wukong charged first once more as Macaque sank into the shadows to avoid the attack. That didnât deter the golden monkey as he activated his eyes of truth with a quick glance charged at one spot, only to block an attack from a clone emerging while the other followed suit.
âYou really think it would be that simple,â taunted Macaque as he rushed in with a swing of his glowing staff.
Wukong easily dispelled the clones and side swept him with his own staff.
Neither side gave him as they instinctively began to run further toward the mountain while still attacking one another.
Both monkeys are opposite of one another in many ways, but those differences seem to not matter when face to face with each other as they both counter each other's moves.
When Wukong became a bird and flew high to drop down into a tiger, Macaque manipulated his shadows to tackle him out of mid air and send him spiraling to become a crater on the ground.
When Macaque tried to grapple him from behind and throw him to the mountain side, Wukong nimbly dodged and sent him a sidekick to the side.
When Wukong sent out a flurry of blows, Macaque easily blocked each strike with his own staff.
When Macaque attempts to kick him to the mountain and pin him there, Wukong jumps high and hurdles him away from him.
When one attacks, the other counter.
When the other strikes, one will block.
It was almost an endless cycle.
It may have been a long time since they last saw each other, but the knowledge and the instinct that was left upon them never failed for a second. So, with both monkeys equally matched it would lead to a stand still as neither side gave in or could push enough.
So how would this end?
With both sides killing the other off with one final blast, leaving the mountain and perhaps even part of the city in ruins?
Not quite. Actually it would end when MK had enough of this stupid fight and recklessly charges in.
âSTOOPPP!â He yelled out as he made the final jump and stood in between the two enraged monkeys. He knows this is a very stupid move that he is gonna get lectured on later, but he thinks that this is the only way to stop the two of them from fighting.
And he was right. Both monkeys' eyes widened in horror as they saw where their attack was heading.
âMK/STARLIGHT!â They both screamed as both of them immediately aborted their powered up blast and screeched to a halt before they could run into him.
The sage monkey could feel his heart drilling in his ears as he was so grateful that he managed to stop when he did. Before he could grab his kid, another force beat him to it as he saw Macaque rush over to him. He sprinted over there to stop him from hurting him but it was too late as the black furred monkey grabbed MK, picked him upâŚand began to examine him frantically?
âAre you okay? Did you get hit? Did the excess release of the energy seep out and injure you? Do you feel any nausea, headaches, dizziness, need to run around and blow shit up, bloody nose?â He began to search not only his physical self, but his inner self in both body and spirit. He may train him and Mei to the ground every session and make them wish they wanted to rip out their own bones, but that doesnât mean that he doesnât take the utmost care of them. Hence why they have never left training with any broken bones or fractures alike, this is probably why everyone calls him a worrywart.
ââŚwhat?â Wukong blinked at the scene in front of him.
âIâm fine,â he tried to push the hands off him and focus him back on what was previously happening.
âThat still doesnât take away from the fact that you recklessly charged into the fight and almost got yourself killed!â He hissed out.
âMeep,â he lowered his head as he remembered, right, his Dad could care less if the world was burning around them if he was hurt in any way. Though that doesnât stop the warm feeling in his gut at the thought.
âUmmm, whatâs happening?â Monkey King couldnât help but ask as he stepped forward, only to be stopped by Macaque turning to him, as he pushed MK behind him, and let out a short snarl to him with his eyes burning a bright violet.
He only stopped once he realized just who he was looking at and remembered what just happened not even a minute ago as he slowly eased his posture. But even when his eyes were focused on the monkey in front, he still kept three of his ears to MK behind.
âWouldnât you like to know tinker bell,â he couldnât help grunting out.
âOkay, first off rude and secondly, I just want to know what you're doing with my student?â He rolled his eyes cause at this point he sorta figured out that he may have been slightly wrong about something. He just canât put his finger on what.
âOh now you want to talk,â the medicine monkey huffed, âwould have been a nice idea before you decided to up and try to kill me.â
âI wasnât going to kill you,â Wukong immediately said. âJust knock you out,â and that was the solid truth. He may not see eye to eye with him anymore, but he will not take away his life. He refuses to.
âOh cause thatâs so much better.â
âWould you rather you be a hundred feet underground?â
âAs if you can manage that, I felt that last punch, it seems you are slacking old man,â he gave him a nasty smile.
âBy only a thousand year!â His eye twitched at the age-old insult.
âKeep telling yourself that old man.â
âThere may be a standstill but that still wonât stop me from throwing your scrawny ass off this mountain!â
âI would rather not,â both monkeys startled at the sound of MK's voice and they quickly backed away from each other as they just realized how close they were standing to the other. âI rather like my Dad alive.â
âMK donât do-wait YOUR DAD?!â You can almost hear his neck snap towards his student at his words.
âYeahhhh,â he couldnât help but avoid those bewildered eyes as he rubbed his neck.
Wukong could barely comprehend his words as he turned his head to a very smug monkey.
âSurprise mother fucker,â he couldnât help but say. He was very much enjoying this.
And for the first time, the Great Sage Equal to Heaven, finally took a good look at his former friend and noticed that he has definitely changed. He couldnât decide what to focus on, from his new clothes, his long mane (which really threw him for a loop), his sleek fur, or his very sparkly nails. But he decided it was probably best to focus on the human he is actually willing to protect as he formed up an articulate question in his head out loud.
âDad?â Nope, he was still very thrown off about this. Macaque is a Dad?!? Are we still talking about the same angst demon monkey that would barely even stand the presence of others let alone a human child?!
âHuh, congratulations. I think you finally broke what was left of his brain no matter how small it may have been,â he complimented his child.
âI really wasnât trying,â he sighed as he stepped closer.
âThen thatâs even more pathetic on his part.â
âIâm still here,â Wukong couldnât help but announce.
âOh really I thought you left,â Macaque sarcastically said, âwell since you're here then I guess you finally have time to listen or are you just gonna be an impulsive idiot again.â
âOkay, Iâll admit that I may have jumped the gun, but can you blame me for thinking that you would try something to get back at me?!â He shouted back, not knowing the fuse he had lit.
âExcuse me!?â At this point the demon monkey was fed up as he began to march back over to the sage monkey to start round two. He hoped he did not imply what he thought he did.
âI-I mean you used to never do this before,â he quickly said to calm down the enraged monkey, though he probably should have listened to MK frantic hand movements as they all gestured him to basically âshut up before you get killed.â
âI âusedâ to! Past tense you egotistical fool! People-demons-I can change! I have changed, I know I am not the same demon I was thousands of years ago!â He had to stop himself from dragging his hands to that pretty little throat/begging him to understand. âI am not the same.â
âAnd you just happen to stumble upon a human who so happens to be able to pick up my staff?â He said in disbelief.
âWant to hear something shocking? Yes! I did! I found him and I adopted him cause I could, cause I wanted to, cause I couldnât stand the thought of leaving him alone! So get off your high horse and come down to the rest of us beings, cause the world doesnât revolve around you Sun Wukong.â Macaque could barely hold in his anger as he spat out his name.
Wukong didnât even flinch as he held his ground, he knows that people can change, he sure as fuck had, but right now he wants to make sure that the demon in front of him had changed for the better. He knows he is driving a bigger gap between them than before (hurtpainpainwhydontdoithetribematefriend) but he canât take any chances, especially with the kid involved in their mess. âThat still doesnât mean that you wonât try to use him against me like before!â
And it was that moment that the fuse hit the combustion and Macaque erupted in a glorious and deadly violet light as he smashed his right fist into the mountain side and moments later, that came crumbling down.
âHow dare you,â the low voice harshly echoed out.
âWha-â
âHow fucking DARE YOU!â Voices overlapped each other as a pulse of dark violent energy instinctively flared out towards Wukong, who was just able to stand his ground against the wave.
âMac-â The monkey tried to speak but was abruptly cut off.
âHow dare you accuse I would do anything to harm my child! Fuck you, you flea ridden coward! Hereâs a fucking clue things change! I can admit I done some shit in the past, I screwed many over, and I damn sure stained red with the blood of innocent and guilty, but donât you even dare for a goddamn moment that you never done messed up shit fuck face! But how fucking dare you accuse I would do anything to harm my child!â His eyes glowed in pure rage as he locked onto shocked golden eyes. He was done.
âNo! No I donât thi-â He shouldnât have done this, he shouldnât have said a damn thing.
âShut up! Like fuck I know I made my own stupid mistakes and even when centuries have passed I will never make up for some of those, do you want me to say sorry? Cause I fucking am!â He clenched his robes to where his heart was as he gripped it right.
Wukong eyes feel like it couldnât enlarge anymore as he reached out a hand to him, âMac-â
âIâm sorry for attacking you and your friends so many times! Iâm sorry that I couldnât change my ways back then! Iâm sorry that I couldnât keep up! Iâm sorry that I wasnât able to stay by your side! Iâm sorry for all the years you wasted being my other half!â
He is sorry that he spend all those years with his Sun, he is sorry that he couldnât help but feel alive when he is with him, he is sorry that he couldnât help but falling in love with him for all those years, but he doesnât-will not say that outloud nor will he ever truly regret it.
Wukong feels everything shrinking in on him as he only has eyes for only one as of this moment. He could see the anger in his voice, the frustration in his eyes, and the rage in his stand.
But if there is one thing Macaque has always been good at, it is playing the part, cause he can also see the desperation in his tone, the misery in his eyes and the pure betrayal in how his shoulders are a bit too firm.
âMac no! I-â He wanted to explain that he didnât want this, that he was being an idiot.
âShut up!â He didnât want to hear anymore.
âListen!â He wanted to explain it all.
âShut up!â Not a single word, not now.
âPlease, just-â He needs to tell him.
Then his glamor flickered as all of his scars showed on his body and his hazy blind one appeared as he bared his fangs and screeched out.
âI said SAVE IT BASTARD!â
It was dead silent on the mountain trail, no bird was chirping, no leaves were rustling, not even a sound of heavy breathing was heard. If you listened closely you could hear the beating heartbeat of every living thing, which was quite a feat unto itself, but it was suffocating to two demons facing each other on the mountain.
MK was the one who finally broke the silence as he walked up next to him, while making sure his footsteps were loudly heard, and gently spoke. âDad, your glamor.â
That was what snapped Macaque out as he looked down to his scar filled hands and already instinctively knew the ones on his face, let alone the rest of his body, was prominent. So, he took a long deep breath as he held one hand over his blind eye and released it as he put the glamor back on.
âIâll be leaving first starlight, yell if you need me,â he quietly said as he lowered his hand to reveal the scarless eyes.
âI willâŚare you okay dad?â He worriedly asked as he looked at him.
Macaque could only muster up a small smile at his child care as he ruffled his hair, before sinking into the shadows.
Not once looking back to his old friend.
MK could only faintly watch his dad shadow travel and as soon as he knew he couldnât see him anymore, he whirled around to the Monkey King, who still had a very horrified expression, with a pissed off look, âWhat the hell was that?!â
âWhat have I done?â He hoarsely said as he still had his eyes on the traveling shadow even when it had long escaped from the mountain.
âI donât know, maybe jump to conclusions!â He snarked out to the Monkey King for the first time. He respects him, he really does and that wonât change, but that he cares more for the monkey who raised him and took care of him for all those years. So yeah, he is getting some answers out of him whether he likes it or not.
Monkey King, who hadn't moved since Macaque left, finally pried his eyes away from the moving shadow, no matter how much he wanted to follow, and looked to his student. âI messed up real bad, didnât I.â
âIf you mean by indiscriminately yelling at my dad before he even had the chance to speak then promptly fighting him and then going back to yelling at him once more? Then yeah, you did,â he sarcastically said.
He winced at the harsh, but very justifiable, tone. ââŚso, heâs your dad?â And he still canât help but ask, because Macaque raising a child was not even on his list of things he could have imagined.
âGeez, howâd you figure that one out?â
âYou get your snark from him donât you,â he couldnât help but say.
âOh yeah,â he unashamedly said, âhe did raise me after all.â
Wukong wilted at the reminder, âHe did, didnât he.â It was after he said that was when he squatted down, gripped his hair, and let out a short burst of frustration. He doesnât know if he can come back from this, if things were bad before, they are absolutely horrendous to the pit of despair now.
The student silently calmed down as he blinked at the monkey sage actions then a few things finally clicked into place. âYou still care about him.â
âWhat, the books donât emphasize enough of our âwonderfulâ relationship to each other,â Monkey King couldnât help but sarcastically say. He has read the book and letâs just say that there are some details so far off that it just makes him want to completely rip all his fur off.
âNo, but dad does tell me that you were his first friend,â he plopped down next to him.
The Monkey King, âHe talks about me?â
âOhhh yeah, he told me all the things you guys did together. Like that one time where you tried to trick a corrupt ruler by disguising as a pair of priests.â
âTo be fair, the two of us were really hungry and that buffet that he had looked real damn good, itâs not our fault that the man got outed in the end and was left on the cliffâŚwell only a little bit,â he snorted. You canât blame them for being hungry, but they may have had a rather loud conversation out loud about the extravagant feast they saw to a couple of peopleâŚin the market of the common folksâŚ.and as they were in the middle of a shortage. Things just tend to escalate sometimes, but can you really blame them?
âDad just said that what goes around comes around.â
âThat too,â he said with a small chuckle as he trailed off and sighed, âhe was with me since almost the beginning. When I left the mountain for the first time, I didnât have my monkey nor did I know anyone, so meeting him was a blessing.â
âHe told me the two of you met after you ate a mountain deity offering,â MK said.
âLike I said, I was still new to the world and I barely knew a damn thing, but he was there for basically it all and has to be one of the main reasons Iâm even alive today, cause I can be real and admit that he was at least 75 percent of my impulse control.â He remembered all those times he had run off at the sight of the newest shiny objects or the next food and the amount of times Mac had to drag his ass away from there before the two of them were caught. âAnd I managed to ruin that allâŚtwice!â He moaned out as he gripped his hair once more in frustration.
MK just watched his teacher silently self deprecate himself, he knows what it looks like, and sighed as he patted his shoulder. âItâs not totally over.â
âI essentially attacked him twice! I know some of those scars were made by me during our first battle and his eye,â he stopped short as he could feel the bile rise up as he remembered the hazy honey color eye floating back into his mind. âI made him blind, he is blind in one eye and I did that. Fuck I did thatâŚI canât forgive myself let alone even think he will forgive me.â
âDad can hold a grudge, but he can also forgive. By the gods knows how many times I messed up before,â he lightly jokes.
âYou're his kid and by the looks of it, someone he cares for greatly.â He doesnât think he has ever seen his friend that worried before unless it was aimed towards him whenever he got badly injured. There is a painful tug of something weird coming from his stomach at the thought.
âAnd you're his friend, someone who he also cares for,â he shot back. âThe two of you need better communication, but you two arenât shattered and crushed up by a horse hoof during a race, just a bit broken but it can still be fixed.â
The monkey looked his student in the eye, âYou really think so?â
âMmhmm, Dad has missed you for all those years after all.â If he was any less observant he would have missed his Dad's nostalgic expression whenever he told him a story about them or his sad eyes when he would ask questions about the Monkey King.
âHeâs not the only one,â he said as he finally sat down from his squatting position. ââŚcan you tell me more about him?â It was about time he got reacquainted with his friend, they had over five hundred years after all. Maybe it was time to go back in the world again and see what he has been missing out on.
âWell he likes to garden,â he switched positions and crossed his legs together, this was gonna be a long talk.
Wukong's eyes blinked rapidly, âNow thatâs new, I remembered that when we needed food we would just go to someone's farm and take some food there, there were so many times Mac took out weeds by accident, but damn it we still ate it just for the laughs.â He gave a small smile.
âHe still does that from time to time out of habit.â
âComplains about it getting stuck in his teeth?â His eyes brighten.
âAll the time,â he agreed.
The monkey let out a short chuckle, âIs that why you guys were up here? To get more plants?â
âWell no, we were here getting some herbs.â
âHerbs? Like for medicine?â He shot straight up and tried to ignore the growing pit of horror in his stomach. âAre you sick? Is he sick? Are you guys okay?!â
MK quickly shook his hands to dispel the worries monkey, he already had one, he was not looking for another. âNo, nothing like that. HeâsâŚwell I guess basically a Doctor, I mean no one really puts a name on it, but yeah he usually collects herbs for his supply.â
âIâm sorry, heâs a what?!â Great! And hereâs another thing he could have never imagined that Macaque being! âWhen-how-why did he become a Doctor?!â
âHonestly, he just said he was bored one day and saw Ping making medicine and decided to learn from him,â he shrugged. He should be glad that the Monkey King has come out of his depressive state, despite his over reaction to his dadâŚthough it is quite funny.
âWhose Ping?â He knows that this is not someone the both of them knew when they were still friends, so this must have happened after.
âPing is the human who-â MK cut himself off as he realized that perhaps he shouldnât just tell his father personal secrets to someone he just had a fight with. ââŚwho is one of his friends, he can tell you more about it if you ask.â Which will not be any time soon.
âYeah, Iâll do that,â he said with deceit dripping from his voice, totally spacing out when he heard the word âfriendsâ. âWhat else?â
âHe sometimes likes to do shadow puppetry in the theater.â
âNow thatâs something I know he wonât give up, I remember that he was more dramatic than me when it concerns his puppetry.â
âThatâs what I said and he still is!â
Now everything still wasnât fine despite the lighthearted atmosphere that surrounded the two. There was still a bone deep hurt that needed much time to be healed and nurtured between the two immortal simians, but this was the first step, no matter how small this may be. It will take time, patience, and so many apologies before anything can be forgiven, but for now it was the time to learn and let both monkeys calm down. For when it is time to meet once more, it is needless to say that a certain impulsive simian is going to go full force.
The sun was setting by the time MK got back from the mountain, he decided to go to his dadâs place for the night after he called up Pigsy to tell him the small change. When he entered through the front door the whole house was completely dark and silent as not a single light was on nor a single sound was uttered.
âOh no,â he silently thought to himself as he made his way past the living room, passed their bedroom and finally faced a closet where they stored all of their pillows and blankets. He gently opened the door and his heart dropped as he saw his dad there in almost pitch darkness, kneeling with his head almost touching the ground and his hands covering all six of his ears as he methodically tapped the back of his neck with his middle finger.
MK opened his mouth to ask if he was alright, but promptly closed it as he realized just how stupid that question was, so instead he quickly head out to gathered some items before coming back. He placed the bowl of fruit and water bottles on the shelf above, he gently pried his dad hands off his ears and put the headphones on instead, he made sure to wrap the weighted blanket around the both of them, and he gently redirected his dad head to instead lay on his lap after he closed the door and began to groom his dad mane.
And yet throughout this entire process, Macaque had yet to utter a single word nor even shift an inch from his spot.
The boy knew he wasnât going to respond, but he still canât help himself but feel a twinge of anger directed at the Monkey King at what he has done.
âThis whole day was a disaster and a half,â he narrowed his eyes as he numbly threaded his fingers in the fluffy fur. âHe may be a God, but heâs not infallibleâŚheâs not perfect.â And with this little thought, he began to really realize that despite status or power, no one can be truly perfect. Not the Monkey King nor any other higher being that claims to be above them all. Itâs a cynical thought, but he thinks that maybe itâs more real than he can imagine.
But those thoughts can wait for now. Right now, all he wants to do is focus on grooming this fur and just being there for his dad.
In the forest when the moon was high all were mostly sleeping and all was calm. Though some were laid to rest, there were other creatures, both mythical and not, that were waking up to their nightly routine. Everything was the same as always and nothing had changed enough to really bother any creatures despite.
Not even for a newly planted Plum Blossom seed that lay deep within the forest.

When Danny first visitedăźor, more accurately, when he first crashed intoăźthe Far Frozen, he shared the same first impression as Tucker; it was ball-freezing cold.Â
Frostbite and his peopleâs homeland was a frozen paradise where blinding white snow went as far as reached the eye. What at first glance appeared to be a rather rudimentary village made out of small houses carved into mounds of ice and frost was infinitely more complex than that. The Realm of the Far Frozen was one of the most technologically advanced territories in all the Infinite Realms; even Technus coveted access to their facilities. A stark contrast to its inhabitants' simple clothing, for instance.
The ice huts were in truth the entrance to a far more elaborate citadel built underground and connected by countless tunnels and caverns, for it provided better shelter. Some shacks did indeed lead to the citizensâ homes, not unlike a rabbitâs den, but the vast majority of them worked as the gates to the tunnels leading to the metropolis beneath the snow.Â
In fact, the only cavern that truly was a mere cave, despite its importance among Frostbiteâs people, was the cave where Dannyâs battle against Pariah Dark was recorded. In reality, everything about Far Frozen was proof that one should never judge a book by its cover. The ice-wielding ghosts had the fearsome looks of canine yetis; their claws alone the size of Dannyâs head, their snouts filled to the brim with razor-sharp fangs; even now, standing at 5â9 feet tall, Frostbiteâs colossal height and build dwarfed the halfaâs own developed physique, and the number of ghosts who shared the yeti-like speciesâ proficiency at cryokinesis could be counted with one handăźaside from Danny himself, the only other ghost that came to mind was Klemper, and even he relied mostly on brute strength and freezing breath.Â
And yet, despite everything that shouldâve turned Frostbite and his people into some of his most formidable foes, they in turn were some of the biggest supporters of his rule. If you looked for the definition of âgentle giantâ in the dictionary, youâd see a picture of them. Frostbiteâs people were noble, kind, and loyal. So long their way of living wasnât threatened, should a crisis arise, they were always the first ones volunteering themselves to help Danny in any way they could.Â
Not to mention Frostbite himself had more than once filled the role of the young Ghost Kingâs mentor. A role he had no choice but to exploit now.Â
Landing gracefully on top of the snow, Danny waited patiently until the leader of the Far Frozeners came flying by on his hoverboard in the midst of his patrolling his land. Soon enough, taking notice of a shadow being cast on him, he looked up to see the ghostâs familiar face grinning down at him, by his side one of his subjects looked on with interest.Â
âGreat One!â he exclaimed before hopping off the vehicle and coming to stand beside his king, followed by a respectful bow. âTo what do we owe the honour of this visit?â
Danny smiled appreciatively at him. âHello, Frostbite. I know this is probably too sudden, but I could really use your help right now.â
âNonsense.â The bigger ghost assured him with the raise of a dismissive paw. âMy people will be forever indebted to you for freeing the Ghost Zone once and for all from the tyrannical influence of Pariah Dark.â He placed his large paw on his rulerâs shoulder, staring him down with a warmth that shouldnât belong with a race of tundra dwellers. âNow, do tell, what can we possibly help with?â
Feeling uncomfortable, the halfa looked down on his feet and scratched the back of his head. He really didnât want to go to Frostbite for help, knowing how cautious he was around the mere mention of them. Unfortunately, he didnât know who else to go to. âI need your help withâŚthe witches.â
He mumbled that part so low for a moment he worried his old friend might not have heard him, but the sudden look of urgency in his red eyes said otherwise. âCome, we must make haste.â With a nod of his head, Frostbite signalled to the hoverboardâs pilot to lower the vehicle, getting aboard right after Danny. âWe will continue where we left off tomorrow at dawn, for now let us head back home.â He instructed the pilot as he ushered Danny to take a seat.Â
âAs you wish, sir.â The other Far Frozen replied as he changed course.Â
âThank you.â Danny said truthfully. âIâm sorry for bringing them up, but I think you might be the only one able to help me.â
Frostbite shook his head. âFear not, Great One. My people and I understand you are doing everything in your power to protect us from their harmful ways. Even if we do not wish to come in contact of any kind with them, we will not hesitate to aid you in your quest.â
Even if on the outside Danny was smiling, his words made his insides churn. He felt like he was lying to his mentor. After his last encounter with Lady Arcana a part of him, probably the same part of him who originally told him this was a good idea, resented the way ghosts referred to witches.Â
Jazz would probably say that was the result of personal growth. Since the Witch Queen went out of her way to make sure he was safe despite their mutual animosity, his mind had been opened to new horizons, meaning he now understood heâd been unfair to them based on prejudice and naysay, rather than first hand experience.Â
At least, thatâs what Psychologist Jazz would say. Overprotective, Older Sister Jazz would say something more along the lines of, âSnap out of it, little brother! Youâre not fourteen and hormonal anymore; donât let a pretty face fool you!â
Even so, here he was. Asking Frostbite for help even though it felt like he was just desperately looking for something, anything, that would debunk the reasons behind his peopleâs grudge against witches, if only to assure himself that his current, improved, opinion of their leader wasnât unfounded.Â
Come on, man, thatâs not the only reason youâre doing this and you know it. He tried to reason. How much do you know about witches other than what youâve been told? Nothing, thatâs how much he knew about them. Exactly. Youâre the one taking risks by working with Lady Arcana. What if your previous hunch was wrong and they really canât help? Wouldnât that mean youâve been wasting your time? Okay, thatâd be bad. Really bad. He only asked for their help because he was sure they were the only ones who could do anything about the portals, but if not even them had the solution to the portals opening, what was he going to do?! Right? And how are you going to figure that out if you donât know what theyâre truly capable of? Really, this is for the best.Â
Danny didnât want to sound conceited, but his inner monologue brought up incredibly good points to the conversation. He was doing this for the sake of Earth and the Ghost Zone alike. His personal opinion on the Queen of the Witches of Amity Park was irrelevant.Â
A sudden jerk that almost sent him flying brought him out of his reverie. Looking around he noticed theyâd finally arrived back at the village, and Frostbite was smirking down at him in amusement. âI have yet to see you use the powers that come with your position to their full potential,â he started between chuckles, âbut I believe not even the Great One is exempt from having to use the seatbelt when travelling.â
Registering the way the leader of the Far Frozen moved his ice-encased arm to his lap, Danny realised he was the only person aboard who didnât have his seatbelt on. When Frostbite unbuttoned his seatbelt with a pointed look, the green-eyed ghost could only flush in embarrassment. âUhâŚoops?â
A low chuckle rumbled through the yeti-like ghostâs chest. âCome, Great One.â Resting his large paw on Dannyâs back, Frostbite ushered him out of the hoverboard and began guiding him through his homeâs numerous underground passages. They walked in silence, the sound of ice and snow being stepped on was the only thing that could be heard. Even though several detours were carved into the walls, his mentor kept directing him to go straight until he instructed they took a turn.Â
Danny was sure his jaw was inches away from touching the ground as his eyes surveyed the colossal ice gates in front of him. Judging by their icy blue hue, they were thick enough to withstand practically anything. He doubted even one of his most charged up ecto-rays would be enough to crash into them. Many intricate designs ran alongside them, and they definitely had to protect something of great value to explain the two guards at each side.Â
As if reading his mind, Frostbite supplied an answer for his unspoken queries, âThe library, oh, Great One.â With a snap of his fingers, the two guards bowed down before they simultaneously turned the doorknobs and opened the doors for them, granting them access.Â
âWait, the library?â Danny frowned in confusion, which only doubled at Frostbiteâs hearty laugh.
âYes, Great One.â He smiled down at him as he led him inside. âIf what youâre looking for is answers, I cannot think of a better place to find them than a library.â
Looking now at his mentorâs furry back, for he was surveying the different shelves most likely in search of a book that might have the information he was looking for, the young monarch blurted out, âHow do you know Iâm here for answers?â
Frostbite grabbed a book from the shelf he was currently facing, only to think better of it and return it in exchange for another one. âUsually, when you come all the way over here it is because you have questions you need answers to.â
Danny winced at the pang of guilt that pierced through his core. Was he always so self-interested he only ever came when he needed something?
âWorry not, Great One.â The yeti-like spirit said, not looking up from the book in his large paws. âMy people will always be at your service. It is an honour to be able to help you, for we know you will always aid us in return.â He closed the book with a low thud, flashing him a friendly smile.Â
Danny could only gape at the ghost before him, his mouth opening and closing in a fashion akin to a fishâs. Seriously, did the Far Frozeners have telepathy too?!
âNo, we do not possess the ability to read minds.â Looking down at the certainly flabbergasted expression on the half-ghostâs face, Frostbite roared with laughter, the sound echoing throughout the walls. âI jest, Great One. I just know you too well. Also, your expressions speak volumes.â He commented offhandedly before returning his focus to another section of the library.Â
And to think heâd managed to fool his parents all these yearsâŚSliding a hand through his mess of shock-white locks, the Ghost King came to stand beside his old friend, scanning over the different titles as well. After a while, he realised something. âUm, Frostbite?â He called out to his mentor.Â
âYes, Great One?â
âAre we perhaps looking for information to answer my questions about the witches?â
Never tearing his eyes away from the sacred manuscripts in full display in his peopleâs library, Frostbite nodded. âPrecisely, your Majesty.â
âJust one question, though?â
âWhat is it?â
âHow are we going to find a book thatâll help me, if I still havenât told you what I need help with?â Danny pointed out, tilting his head to his side as he awaited an answer.Â
The larger ghostâs red eyes widened in realisation. Indeed, that would prove difficult. âMy apologies, Great One. In my haste to be of help I got ahead of myself.â Turning to his king, he bowed his head solemnly, unknowingly making Danny uncomfortable. Back in the day the halfa wouldâve tried deterring him in his use of honorifics when talking to him, but it was a lost cause and getting him to stop bowing would be as well. In the end he simply chose to go with the flow. Raising his body, Frostbite used his ice-encased arm to gesture to a corner of the room, where a few chairs were arranged around a table. âPlease, allow me to rectify my mistake by listening to your queries and answering them to the best of my ability.â
As soon as he got comfortable in his chair, which wasnât difficult as the hair serving as upholstery was very fluffy and warm, Danny tried to voice his thoughts. âWell...um...you seeâŚâ Key word being âtried,â in the end he blurted out, âHow does their magic work?â
As Frostbite met his question with stunned silence, his head tilted to the side and a bushy eyebrow raised in confusion, the green-eyed half-ghost couldnât blame him. How was it he always ended up asking the exact same thing to every person relatively knowledgeable about witches he talked to?
Before his old friend could ask for some much needed clarification, Danny hurried to deliver it himself. âIâm sorry, that was too random.â He pushed his bangs out of his face, trying to organise his thoughts. Better be straightforward with this one. âWhy is it that their magic can touch us while weâre intangible?â
The question had been eating him alive for the last few days. Now matter how long he wracked his brain for answers, he came up empty-handed. Admittedly, most of the times he was hit by an opponentâs attack it was usually because, in the heat of the moment, he all but forgot he could turn intangible at will and effortlessly pass through whatever projectile was thrown his way. It was an embarrassing mistake that haunted himăźhow ironic, huh?ăźsince he first started gaining control over his powers.Â
And yet, when he did remember to turn intangible at the sight of upcoming ecto-rays or laser beams, he could come out unscathed of anythingăźother ghostâs using their powers against him, the Guys in White and their tax-money equipment, even his parentsâ own inventions.Â
Well, almost everythingâŚ
Valerieâs own arsenal of ecto-weapons was the only thing that could touch (or, more accurately, hurt) him when he was intangible. He could only guess what Vlad and subsequently Technus had used to create her suit and weaponry. Until now. Now heâd accidentally found out witches could nonchalantly wrap their magical, tendril-like thingy around his ankleăźlast time in a successful attempt to help him, which was very much appreciatedăźand it actually came as a surprise to them they were even able to do it!Â
If only he could figure out why that wasâŚ
âGreat One,â Frostbite sighed from his own chair, snapping him out of his reverie, âI fear I might not be of help to you. I know nothing of what you speak.âÂ
At that, the halfa jumped to his feet, almost pleadingly. âWhat do you mean, Frostbite? How come you donât know, you know practically everything!â
A mirthless chuckle escaped the Far Frozenerâs throat. âYou flatter me, my King. But I really am as lost as you are on the matter. I could tell you many other things, but not that.â
âThen, what can you tell me?â
Rising to his feet, the yeti-like creature beckoned his hero and leader to follow him to another part of the library. Once they were in front of a particular shelf, Frostbite slid his finger over the different volumes until he found the one he was looking for. With a triumphant sound, he picked it up and started leafing through it as he handed the book to Danny.Â
When the halfa took the heavy book in his hands he almost dropped it when he saw the intricate drawing between its pages. Pictured inside the book were very realistic, if slightly worn out by time, drawings of the Amulets of Aragon and portrayals of people Danny could only assume were Dorothea and her brother while they were alive.Â
Frostbiteâs booming voice forced him to look up to his direction. âWhatever knowledge on the sorceressâ nature beyond their affinity to magic and ability to free us from the chains that bind us to our world without the use of portals is long gone.â He delicately traced an invisible circle around the image of the amulet with one of his sharp claws as he explained, âAfter our people's separation, only remnants of their activity were left.Â
âIt is thanks to their prolonged presence in our lives, and the intertwining of energies resulting from our past interactions, that those with magic-based abilities can still survive today. Without the witchesâ previous impact on our society, Princess Dorothea and her brother would have long lost the power to wield their amulets. And, as you know, it is thanks to them that magical items even exist in our world.â
âYeah, donât remind meâŚâ He muttered under his breath, resentment coming back at full force.Â
âOn the contrary, my King. I am enlightening you.â Frostbite corrected, earning himself a confused look from Danny that encouraged him to go on. Instead of answering with words, however, Frostbite merely turned his head with a faraway look in his eyes, prompting the halfa to do the same. The moment his eyes laid on a particular object on the other side of the room, Danny could feel himself go jawslacked.Â
With wide eyes, he turned his head so fast he almost gave himself whiplash. âThe Infi-map is here because of the witches?â He asked with a strangled voice.Â
Frostbite simply nodded. âIt was a gift from them, to be precise. Legend has it, eons ago the Infinite Realms were desperately looking for ways to anticipate when the next ghost portal would open when an ancient witch queen from the Old World offered the enchanted Infi-map as the solution.
âShe was especially close to my people, thus how we came to guard it. It is also why the Far Frozen is so wary of them now; how a race of beings we once shared such a close bond with could doom our very existence like they did was too much for even our benevolent nature to forgive.â He lowered his head in mourning. Maybe they only had stories of how things used to be, but it was clear the womenâs betrayal was a deeply pierced wound that would forever be opening and closing at the very core of the Far Frozenersâ hearts.Â
Seeing his friendâs dejected expression, Danny regretted even bringing them up almost instantly. âSo thereâs no way of possibly knowing how they can touch us while intangible?â
âAs I said, only remnants of their presence remain.â Right after he said that, however, his downhearted expression turned thoughtful, his paw stroking his snout in thought. âAlthough, perchance, there is one ghost that might be able to shed some light on the matter...â
...........
Clockwork.Â
He had to go and say Clockwork.Â
Of fucking course. Why not? Couldnât he have said Pandora? Despite her fierce and fearsome demeanour, underneath all that anger and aggression laid a very helpful gal! And besides, she was a spirit that had been roaming the Ghost Zone since the times of Ancient Greece! What could be more ancient than Ancient Greece?Â
Okay, fine...maybe the very ghost whoâd borne witness to the rise and fall of the Greek civilisation alongside countless others before and after. But his point still stands.Â
At least this time he wouldnât be visiting the all-knowing Ghost of Time by himself; Frostbite had offered to go with him seeing as it was per his suggestion heâd be visiting in the first place. Proof of it was the yeti-like ghost flying right beside him towards the Ghost of Timeâs tower. And Clockwork always treated Frostbite with respect.Â
Danny would admit he was being a bit harsh. In all fairness going to Clockwork was the most logical thing to doăźif there was someone whoâd have all the answers he needed, it was the very ghost who knew absolutely everything. The problem would be getting the answers out of him.Â
Deep down, the halfa knew he shouldâve gone to him from the beginning, it was just dealing with him could really take its toll on Danny, no matter how much he respected and appreciated his guidance. Was Clockwork a good mentor to Danny? Absolutely, he was sure heâd never made it as far as he had without his and Frostbiteâs help. In the end, was the greater good Clockworkâs priority? Was it ever! The shape-shifting ghost would never hesitate to go against orders from the Observants (all too gleefully, might he add) if he believed itâd led them to the better timeline. Did his cryptic nature and that frustratingly annoying, knowing smirk he always wore when he needed his help with something sometimes encourage Danny to jump off a cliff in his human form?Â
Maybe.Â
He just hoped Frostbiteâs presence would help matters, if only a bit.Â
And speaking of FrostbiteâŚâWe approach the Master of Timeâs lair, Great one.â Soon enough, the immense clock tower standing proud in the middle of the Infinite Realms could be sighted not far away from them.Â
Danny sighed dejectedly. âLetâs get this over withâŚâ he grumbled as he changed course in the direction the ghostly lair resided.Â
Once they arrived at Clockworkâs tower, Danny reached a hand out to push the door open and let themselves in. It wasnât like they were going to catch its owner off-guard, after all. As they ventured inside, their eyes scanning for the ever-changing form of the master of time, the constant tick-tock coming from the numerous clocks scattered around the place reached their ears. Like the ticking crocodile Captain Hook dreaded so much, the tower was a constant reminder of the passage of time. Even if the Ghost of Time had long ago explained to him the essence of his power was never as linear as most beings made it out to be, all Danny could think of whenever that incessant sound registered in his mind was one thing:
Time was running out and the end was nigh.
Shaking those thoughts away, for now wasnât the moment to get lost in them, Danny cupped a hand around his mouth. âClockwork?â He called. âAnybody home?â
In the blink of an eye, the child-like form of the ghost in question materialised in front of them with an amused grin on his childish face. When he opened his mouth to speak, instead of an appropriately high-pitched voice came a deep, baritone one, âIâve been expecting you.â The fact it came from a kidâs mouth made it all the more jarring, but Danny was used to it by now.Â
Whereas Frostbite respectfully bowed down in greeting, Danny just stared blankly at the ghost before him, his arms folding over his chest. ââIâve been expecting you?â Really? What are you, a fortune teller?â
Changing to his adult form, a more fitting low chuckle escaped his throat. âWe both know Iâm one of the very few creatures in existence within his right to call himself that.â Then he added, almost like an afterthought. âAlso, I felt like it.â
âFigures,â he muttered. Despite himself, the halfa couldnât stop the lopsided smile from forming on his face.Â
Clockwork then turned to the leader of the Far Frozen. âItâs good to see you again, Frostbite. What business brings you here?â
Standing up from his bowed position, Frostbite returned the greeting. âGreetings, Lord Clockwork. It is good to see you as well. Do forgive my impertinence, but I believe you must already know why I am here.â
The master of time nodded, now taking the form of an old man, the grip on his scepter just a little bit tighter for support. âIndeed, youâre here to support our young king. How noble of you.â
âI am merely doing what it is expected of me.âÂ
âThat you do.â Clockwork agreed, nodding wisely. As the larger ghost had accurately pointed out, when one addressed the Ghost of Time, everything they did became expected. âThat you do, my friend.â
âUm, could we please speed things up?â Danny suggested, growing frustrated with the pointless introductions. âAs Frostbite said, you already know why weâre here, so why donât you tell us if you can help us or not?â
âI said I know why Frostbiteâs here, seeing as that is a staple in almost every timeline. That doesnât mean I necessarily know the actual reason why youâre here since itâs more subject to change.â The Ghost of Time countered, but that devilishly knowing smirk of his was back on his face, all but screaming he did know exactly why they were here. âSo, what are you here for, boy?â
Resisting the very strong urge to yank at his hair in despair, Danny managed to at least reply calmly. Sarcastically, but calmly. âAs if you donât know the answer already.â
Clockworkâs smirk widened. âThen humour me.â
Pinching the bridge of his nose and sighing through it, the Ghost King thought the best way to formulate his question. Just because the master of time was, well, the master of time that didnât mean he shouldnât try to at least make sense. âI need answers.â He finally admitted. âThereâs a lot going on with Lady Arcana that I canât understand. I originally asked for Frostbiteâs help but, unfortunately, he didnât have what Iâm looking for. And honestly?â He sent the shapeshifting ghost a meaningful glance, hoping itâd be enough to express how serious he was. âI donât think she has the answers, either.â
Clockwork arched an eyebrow, silently urging him to continue.Â
âShe can touch me when I go intangible!â Danny threw his arms up. Really, knowing how she could do that was all he needed. If he found out more about her people, wonderful! But as long as he got to know why one of his core powers seemingly meant nothing to her, he was golden. âWell, not her, her magic can.â He amended. âJust the other day, I was intangible and she wrapped one of her wispy tendrils around my ankle, yanking me down. How is that possible?â
For a moment, the Ghost of Time remained silent. With his head resting on his staff, his body kept changing its physical appearance as his deep, red eyes stayed fixated upon the young king. And Danny couldnât honestly be sure if Clockwork was really thinking his next words carefully or just toying with him. He was an adult again by the time he finally spoke. âDanny, have you ever considered why ghosts can go intangible at all?âÂ
The unexpected question took him aback. âI...I always assumed it was a natural ghost ability.â He admitted as he scratched the back of his head in thought.Â
Changing to his elderly form, the hooded ghost nodded. âAnd it is, but not without reason.â Next he floated over one of the many portals he used to oversee the passage of time. With a snap of his fingers, the portal began broadcasting many different instances where Danny or some other ghost had turned intangible. âYou see, when we ghosts become intangible, what we do is tap into the Ghost Zone while weâre away from it. That is to say our bodies travel through dimensions.â With a movement of his staff, the image changed to show the times he, Tucker, and, surprisingly, Lady Arcana had phased through the walls. âThatâs also why humans can phase through things in our world; even if their bodies are here, their essence never left EarthâŚâ
As his mind connected the dots, the halfaâs eyes widened to the size of saucers. â...making them lose their physical mass when in touch with things from our world!â He finished, amazed, and from beside the portal Clockwork nodded sagely. âBut what about witches?â
The portal abruptly stopped its broadcast. It was almost as if Clockwork didnât want to show him anything related to Lady Arcanaâs people. With that in mind, Danny feared for a second the master of time would choose that moment to close himself off and say nothing more, but luckily, he proved him wrong. âIn terms of physical form, witches are still human, but their magic is something completely different.
âAs the only human beings capable of tapping into their own essence, their animas are multidimensional, which is why the Witch Queenâs magic affected youăźitsâ capable of surpassing the laws of physics because itâs not bound to any particular dimensionâŚâ
â...just its holder!â Danny gasped out as understanding dawned on him, things were finally starting to make sense. âSo youâre saying witches are akin to electricity generators? They depend on no one but themselves to do magic?â
âPretty much.â
âWow.â He breathed out, a hand outstretched and blindly looking for support until it met the wall. Noticing his kingâs dazed estate, Frostbite hurried to his side to steady him as Danny slowly sat down on the floor. âThis...this is a lot.â
âAnd itâs only the beginning.â The Ghost of Time let out cryptically. Danny would have to remember to think about the meaning of that later on, for now heâd already absorbed too much information in too little time. When his brain finally processed enough information for him to properly function, the green-eyed ghost stood to his feet on his own, thanking Frostbite for his help. âThank you, Clockwork. You were a huge help today. I know how hard it is for you to reveal anything due to the nature of your job.â
âDonât get used to it, boy.â The hooded ghost warned, the knowing smirk back on his face. âIâm only doing what I consider best for this timeline. Donât think spelling things out for you will be the answer to all your problems from now on.âÂ
Despite his words, the smile on Dannyâs face didnât fall. Itâd have been foolish to expect anything else from Clockwork, after all. âWell, thanks anyways. See you, Clockwork.â He waved him goodbye as he took off in the opposite direction, this time heading for the Fenton Ghost Portal; today was far from over.Â
Having been left alone with the Ghost of Time, Frostbite approached him. âLord Clockwork, are we certain we are on the right path for salvation?â
âTrust me, old friend,â a child Clockwork said as he ventured further inside his lair, a different portal opening before his deceivingly innocent, round face, the events being displayed in it pleasing him greatly, âeverything is as it should be.â
...........
The FentonWorks sign loomed over her like a bad omen. Looking up to the enormous metallic construction welded to the more average-looking, brick building where Danny and his family lived, Sam couldnât help but subconsciously grip the straps of her spider backpack tighter. Her stomach churning in nervousness, she lifted one hand up to knock on the doorâŚ
And, unable to bring herself to do so, let it hang in mid-air for a good ten minutes.Â
Dear God, if anyone saw her lurking around the Fentonsâ door theyâd think she was some weird stalker who was crazier than they claimed the family to be, or a potential client who needed help hunting a ghost. So basically theyâd think she was crazier than they claimed the family to be either way.Â
One would think the only family of ghost hunters in town would be held in much higher regard after seven years of consistent ghost attacks, but rumour has it their equipment tended to malfunction or make things more difficult for everyone. Sam remembered one particularly funny, but understandably embarrassing, story Danny had told her about his parentsâ accidentally humiliating his English teacher on more than one occasion. And since Mr. Lancer couldnât punish two adults, he took his frustrations out on their innocent son who had repeatedly stated he wanted nothing to do with the family business.
Add to that the presence of an all-around more powerful and more competent town hero with actual ghost powers, and it was safe to say their credibility had taken a few major blows over the years.Â
At first sheâd worried about their financial situation. Who wouldnât? They were professional ghost hunters but nobody took them seriously and any possible job they might have had was immediately handled by a far more efficient superhero who, to top it all, worked for free. With that in mind youâd expect them to have been evicted years ago! But Danny had been quick to reassure her and explain things to her. Yes, his parentsâ passion was ectology and ghost-hunting, but they were primarily inventors and, even if their ecto-weapons could sometimes use some work, their more mundane inventions were typically sold like pancakes. So they were fine.Â
She sighed at the memory. Oh, DannyâŚ
Hard as she tried, she still hadnât managed to shake the flutter in her chest off whenever she thought of him or something happened between them. No. Scratch that. She didnât get that feeling when âsomethingâ happened between them, because nothing ever happened between them! All those weird, little instances where her heart would malfunction after twenty-one years in peak condition were perfectly normal occurrences that shouldnât send her heart running.Â
They would simultaneously reach for the same thing, causing their hands to brush against each other. Their eyes would meet and sheâd spend seconds that could have perfectly stretched into hours over-analysing every little thing she thought was going on behind them because she suddenly wanted to know everything about Danny. When that happened itâd usually be followed by the both of them hurriedly looking away and Sam feeling bashful for some reason, heat rising to her cheeks.Â
And none of those reactions made sense because that was not the way one would react to their friend!
Those were all completely normal occurrences between friends. It was normal to want the same thing at the same time. It was only natural to look your friend in the eyes. And it made sense that youâd want to look away if you think youâve been staring a little too long because anyone would feel uncomfortable by that.Â
What didnât make sense was the gnawing feeling at the back of her head telling her those little, insignificant moments meant so much more than that!
And now that she was beginning to think sheâd misjudged Phantom? Now that she looked at him in a different light and noticed some of his...letâs say...more appealing features, both in terms of physique and personality? Now that her heart was beginning to malfunction at the thought of him too?
Now Sam was seriously contemplating putting an end to her misery and burning herself at the stake.Â
Either that or go see a doctor in case she had some sort of untreatable heart disease.Â
Regardless of the very strange position she now found herself in, Samâs resolve in finding more about ghosts was genuine. Her and Phantomâs reactions to her magic being able to reach him even when intangible was proof enough that far too much knowledge on their peopleâs old friendship had been regrettably forgotten.Â
The black hole incident demonstrated there probably was more to their partnership and combined abilities than what had been passed down to the younger generations. If Sam could find solid evidence on an unexplained synchrony between magic and ghostly attributes, then maybe her current alliance with the Ghost King wouldnât be futile after all.
Maybe it even held the key to solving the portal crisis they faced off againstâŚ
The witch was abruptly broken out of her trail of thought when the door sheâd been standing in front of for fifteen minutes suddenly opened, Dannyâs head curiously poking around and eyes darting from one side to the other, clearly looking for somethingâŚ
...or someone.Â
As soon as their eyes met, the two of them let out startled sounds and subconsciously took a step back in surprise. Unfortunately for Sam, seeing as she was standing on the steps leading up to the door, her foot slipped when it found nowhere to stand on. Losing her balance, she was sure she was going to fall when Danny immediately rushed in to help her, his strong arms swiftly coming to grab her by her waist, their faces mere inches apart.Â
Against her better judgement, the hazel-eyed girl couldnât do anything to prevent losing herself in Dannyâs baby blue depths. Certainly, nobody would blame her, not when their breaths mingled from the close proximity, or when his eyes reflected a worry sheâd rarely seen beforeăźhe was worried for her, she realised with a little too much gleeăź, or when they were so, so close all she had to do was inch her head forward just a little to close the distance and feel those hypnotising lips of his onăź.
âUh...whatâs going on here?â
Slowly, very slowly, even comically so, the two turned their heads to the direction of the voice. Only to find Jazz propped against the doorframe behind her brother and flashing them a very interested look, a smile dancing along her lips.Â
The effect was instantaneous. The two scrambled to get away from each other, almost as if theyâd suddenly realised the other was made out of hot lava and they were burning their hands, muttering excuses and such other nonsense Jazz chose to ignore completely.Â
Oh, denial. Simultaneously one of the most entertaining and frustrating stages of admitting you like someone.Â
Clearing his throat, Danny was the first one to find his voice, even though his cheeks still burned. âS-Sam! Itâs great to see you! I was starting to believe you couldnât make it in the end.â
âOh! No, no.â She shook her head slightly with a hand raised up. âIâm sorry I made you wait, I, uh, I just had a little trouble finding the place. Thatâs all.â Fine, so saying she had trouble finding the one house in town with a humongous Ops Centre on its roof was a terrible lie, but no way in Hell was she going to say she found the place just fine but she took a few extra minutes with her hand raised about to knock on the door but finding herself unable to.Â
That was just pathetic.
The slightly irritating grin never leaving her face, Jazz ushered their guest in. âWould you like to come in?â
âYes, thank you.â She let herself be guided through the doorstep to the kitchen, which, judging by the outline of some furniture she could vaguely make out, Sam guessed led to the living room. The space was a large and bright-coloured room that combined a somewhat retro 50âs style with far newer appliances and...was that a toxic-waste container?
âThatâs our version of tupperware with leftovers.â Danny came to stand beside her and now Sam was wondering if sheâd just said that aloud or if he could read minds. When he looked down at her, though, his expression was dead serious. âIf you value your life, donât open it.â
âDuly noted.âÂ
She was about to ask where she could sit down when the younger sibling moved a chair for her, gesturing at it with a flourish and flashing her a charming smile. âMâlady, this way, please.â
Rolling her eyes fondly, Sam took his hand and allowed him to help her sit, setting her spider backpack on top of the kitchen table. Once he was comfortably sitting on his own chair by her side, she swatted his arm in mock warning. âJust so you know, Iâm only letting you treat me like âa lady,ââ she air-quoted, âbecause, as your guest, is the right thing to do.âÂ
âIâm much obliged, Miss Manson.â Danny countered with a fake posh accent.Â
Before the girl could so much as flick him on the nose, Jazz came inside carrying a plate full of cookies. âCare for one, Sam?â
Eying the plate carefully, she had to decline the offer. âThank you, but Iâm good.â In truth she couldnât be sure the cookies were vegan, but saying she wasnât hungry was much more polite than imposing her dietary choices on them.Â
Sensing her discomfort, Danny smacked his forehead as realisation washed over him. âDuh, thatâs right!â Startled by his outburst the two girls turned to look at him, exchanging confused glances. âYouâre ultra-recyclo-vegetarian! Iâm sorry, Sam. I forgot. I donât think we have anything for you.â
Bringing one hand to her mouth, Jazz gasped. âDarn! Thatâs right. Iâm so sorry, Sam; it totally slipped my mind.â
Her mind still reeling from Danny, once again, remembering something about her, she didnât have the heart to say anything. âItâs okay, really. As I said, Iâm good.â
âAre you sure?â Danny insisted. âBecause Iâm sure we have something around here you might be able to eatâŚâ He trailed off, clearly thinking about what they had that Sam could possibly consume without breaking her moral code. Biting down his lip, he tried, âHow about water?â
The Goth girl couldnât help but snort. â A tempting offer. I might take you up on it.â
âIâll get you a glass.â As he got up to do just that, his older sister finally took notice of the purple spider resting on the table.Â
âWow.â She breathed out, clearly impressed. âYou have quite a collection of badges on your bag!â
âOh, this?â Sam pointed at the assortment of metallic, glinting badges adorning her faithful spiderâs fur. âTheyâre mostly from charities and previous protests Iâve been in.â She explained. âYou could say when something matters a lot to me, I make sure to give it a place of honour.â
âCool, just make sure my father doesnât see or heâll shove a handful of Fenton badges your way.â
ââFenton badgesâ?â
âTheyâre regular badges with the word âFentonâ on them.â Danny explained quickly, setting down a glass of water before Sam just as he regained his seat.Â
After her brother helped himself to some cookies, Jazz left the plate on the counter before picking a seat for herself. She propped her elbows on the kitchen table, her fingers intertwined and her eyes staring at the Goth seriously from behind her hands. The image reminded Sam of the principals from high school based sitcoms whenever the protagonists got in trouble.
The mental image only made her feel like sheâd got in trouble.Â
âUh...is everything okay?â She asked carefully.
âEverythingâs fine, Sam.â Danny assured her with a smile, though it didnât quite reach his eyes. That only worried the girl further. âWeâre just morally obligated to warn you about a few things first.â
âSuch asâŚ?â Sam eyed the Fenton siblings suspiciously, her skin prickling at their uncharacteristically odd behaviour.Â
âSuch as our parents' eccentricities.â Jazz finished, her voice completely serious. âDonât get us wrong, Sam; our parents are talented inventors and passionate ghost hunters...â She trailed off, having trouble explaining things to an outsider. They never really had to explain their familyâs antics to anybody else, they all knew; the difference lay in how they processed the information. So far, the entire town bar Tucker thought of them as kooks.
âBut theyâre so passionate they tend to overlook things.â Danny added.Â
âEspecially if they donât fit their agenda...â Jazz muttered darkly, probably thinking nobody heard. But she was mistaken.
Sam was legitimately taken aback by the unexpected venom laced in Jazzâs statement. Even though this was only the second time she got to meet the eldest Fenton sibling, their last encounter seemed to indicate Jazz was the type of person who always measured her words. Straight-laced, careful, mature...Maybe even calculating under the right circumstances. She seemed to place great importance on not letting her emotions show, for some reason. But, seemingly, their parentsâ job was a sore spot for her.Â
As her mind went back to their conversation at Verde Que Te Quiero Verde, Sam found herself thinking she couldnât blame Jazz for her low opinion on their parentsâ chosen career. Who wouldnât grow resentful of a career path that, judging by Dannyâs stories, not only had it brought shame and embarrassment onto their children their whole lives, but also led them to being neglected in favour of something most people didnât even know existed until recently?
As much as sheâd personally wished her mother would leave her alone growing up, Sam knew what emotional neglect felt like all too well.Â
âI see.â She said finally, taking extra care in not letting her thoughts shine through. She needed to appear nonchalant, willing to listen. âSo, what should I know?â
Danny and Jazz exchanged a look, silently discussing how to approach the topic. Understandably, Danny had been taken by surprise when Sam asked if she could come over and talk about ghosts. After all, who in their right mind wanted to talk about ghosts? Most citizens would just watch him fight them, sneer at him once the battle was over, and exclaim âgood riddance!â before turning on their heels to go back to their monotonous lives.Â
The only exceptions to the norm were Team Phantom (and even theyâd only started showing interest begrudgingly, since they had no other choice), Danny Phantomâs fan club, and Valerie in her early days as a ghost hunterăźnow that she thought she knew everything about mischievous spirits she could possibly need, sheâd become more of an âattack first, questions neverâ kinda gal.Â
Luckily for Danny, the moment she noticed his blank expression, she was quick to explain it was her Gothic nature talking. Her passion for the paranormal and occult just couldnât miss the opportunity of getting to know more from the townâs resident experts.Â
Now, if only said experts werenât almost as single-minded as a certain Red HuntressâŚ
He wasnât sure why, but a part of Danny just couldnât bear the thought of Sam disliking ghostsăźdisliking your ghost half, you meanăźthe same way Valerie or his parents did. She was one of the most accepting people heâd met in a long time, he wouldnât know what to do if Danny Phantom jeopardised that like it jeopardised his relationship with Valerie.Â
That was why it was so important she understood! If he and Jazz could get through to her before their parents started feeding her their very anti-ghost ideas, then maybe he wouldnât lose another person to Amity Parkâs almost unanimous anti-ghost sentiment. He wouldnât have to pretend to be somebody he was not in front of somebody else he cared about.Â
With a nod of his head, Danny allowed Jazz to take the floor. âFirst and foremost, you should know our parents are far better in practice than in theory.â
Sam blinked, not following. âI donât think I understandâŚâ
âItâs just,â Jazz started, biting her lip, her hands fidgeting as she tried to find the right words to say, âthey know the basics, you see? They know everything on how to take down a ghost and apply that knowledge to their inventions...with varying results,â she muttered that last part to herself. âBut we donât think they really understand what makes a ghost tick, you know what I mean?â
The Goth could only stare blankly at her, her brow furrowed in confusion. âBut you just said they know how to take down ghosts...Doesnât that mean they know what makes them tick?â
âWhat Jazz means is they donât understand their motivations.â Danny corrected. âTo our parents, all ghosts care about is causing mayhem and destruction, but not all ghosts can possibly be like that, can they?â
Although it was phrased like a question, there was something about the way he said it that made Sam see it as anything but. The certainty in his voice, the almost manic glint in his eyes askingăźno, beggingăźher to understand. It wasnât mere, hopeful speculation. As much as Danny liked seeing the good in people, he wasnât just giving ghosts the benefit of the doubt; it was like he knew they were far more than just ectoplasmic remnants of human conscience.Â
Still, despite everything, her mouth started talking before her brain had time to catch up. âBut do they even have any motivation at all?â She didnât know why, but she felt like wincing when Dannyâs hopeful expression turned dejected. Like a kicked puppy. âI mean, all ghosts do whenever they come to Amity Park is cause some sort of trouble or even go as far as plotting world domination.âÂ
Why did she say that? Wasnât she trying to give the spectres the benefit of the doubt as well? She explicitly came here for answers thatâd justify her sudden belief, her sudden need to believe, ghosts werenât as evil as sheâd been told. She was looking for that same reason that led her ancestors to trusting and forming a solid alliance with them all those centuries ago.Â
Why was her mind trying to sabotage that?
Sensing his brotherâs discomfort, Jazz was quick to step in. For reasons he wasnât ready to admit, it was important Sam was on their side. âTake Danny Phantom, for instance,â she said, seemingly unaware of the way Samâs breath hitched at the mention of his name. âNobody knows what heâs up to, but for all intents and purposes, he seems to only care about protecting Amity Park.â
âThat 's...true.â The Goth admitted, trying to ignore the butterflies in her stomach as she thought of the townâs controversial hero. âExcept for a few incidents, he only ever appears if the townâs in danger.â
Sam didnât say much, she was just stating the obvious. But hearing her admit he was trying to save Amity Park rather than destroy or rule it brought a grin to Dannyâs face. âOur parents donât get that. For them, itâs more like, âyouâve seen one ghost, youâve seen them allââ, as he explained their parentsâ mindset, Dannyâs voice took on a deeper tone, causing Sam to guess he was making an imitation of his dadâs voice. âThey donât think Phantom, or any ghost for that matter, can be anything other than trouble.â
A dark, heavy cloud seemed to settle over the raven haired boyâs shoulders. His ocean blue eyes lost their shine, the corners of his lips turned upside down, and he suddenly looked much older than he really was. He seemed so...tired. As if he were carrying a huge weight over his shoulders and were exhausted from it.Â
âTheyâŚâ he began to say before he had to swallow the bitter lump in his throat. It was so difficult to get the words out, knowing what they entailed, without getting emotional. But Sam couldnât possibly know just how much it all affected him. She just couldnât. âThey dehumanise them.â
Sam could only stand looking at Danny for a few more seconds before she had to avert her gaze, focusing on the kitchen counter instead as she bit down her lip guiltily. He looked so...un-Danny. She began picking at her nails as she realised his parents werenât all that different from her; not even a week prior sheâd also been convinced ghosts were nothing more than ectoplasmic scum. Cold, unfeeling, wicked. Even now, even as she came to understand she should give them a chance, she found herself having trouble trying to move on from that mindset her people had spent a good chunk of her life getting into her head.Â
Hating ghosts was second nature at this point.Â
âIâŚâ Sam started weakly, clearing her throat to give herself a few more seconds to compose herself. This was going to be hard. âI think I understand. Itâs like all those movies, isnât it?â She said, her voice tinged with a lightness she didnât quite feel. âLike...like those stories with over-complicated plots that can, ultimately, be summarised by âdonât judge a book by its cover,â right?â
Actually getting the words out was proving itself to be a Herculean task. She didnât even know what she was saying. Referencing one of the oldest tropes to ever exist? Really? No matter how hard she was trying for the sake of her alliance with Phantomăźand not because, for whatever reason, she now wanted to believe he couldnât possibly be as bad as she initially thought. No wayăź, literally all ghosts thatâd ever visited Amity Park except for the Ghost King had questionable morals, at best, or were downright diabolical, at worst.Â
Just trying to get the words out made her stomach tighten!Â
But then she looked over to Danny from underneath her eyelashes, feeling too shy and unsure for her comfort, and her breath hitched.Â
Danny was positively glowing. For reasons Sam couldnât understand, having someone try to see things eye to eye with him meant the world to Danny. The way his expression softened when he looked at her was almost too much to bearăźher cheeks felt like they were on fire, but Sam still had half the mind to understand suddenly splashing her face with her, mostly untouched, glass of water would make some eyebrows raise in bewilderment.Â
Her heart pounding in her ears and her mind screaming at her not to do anything weird or out-of-place (in a disturbingly similar voice to her mother), the hazel-eyed girl reached a hand across the table and rested it on top of Dannyâs, who jolted in his seat upon making contact. âI canât promise anything, but Iâll try to keep an open mind.â She said softly, smiling at him.Â
His mind reeling from the feeling of Samâs warm hand over his cold palm, Danny let out an almost inaudible gasp, his eyebrows shooting up to the ceiling. But as he registered her promise, he couldnât help himself from giving her hand a gentle squeeze, his face morphing itself into an adoring expression as his heart did somersaults in his chest cavity.Â
Where have you been all my life?
Startled by his own thought process, Danny roughly snatched his hand away from Samâs, under her slightly hurt gazeăźwhich she immediately tried to cover upăźand Jazzâs questioning eyes. Before he could try and dwell on his thoughts, however, a booming voice came from down the lab and progressively made its way upstairs.
âSorry weâre late!â Jackâs jovial voice came from the staircase. âWe were finishing up some last minute adjustments.â
âOur latest invention promises to be our greatest one yet!â A feminine voice said excitedly. Sam could only guess that was Mrs. Fenton.
âThereâs still much to be done, of course. But as soon as we work out a few twerks and weâre done designing the general outline, everything else will go smoothly.â Coming in before her husband, Maddie moved easily around her kitchen, going over to the fridge to grab some fudge for Jack before reaching up for some plates from the cupboard. She kept waltzing around the kitchen table and her children, so engrossed in her retelling she failed to notice the ebony haired girl sitting down beside them. âYou kids havenât touched the container unit with the ecto-weenies, haveăź?â She trailed off abruptly, something far more interesting than her homeâs ecto-induced food catching her eye the moment she turned around to finally face her kids.Â
There, sitting around her kitchen table, right next to her son, was both the most unique and beautiful girl sheâd ever seen him with. Any other mother would be taken aback to see her son with a girl with a side of her head shaved off and dyed purple and green (albeit only the little ponytail sticking out), wearing enough dark clothes to be confused with a mortician or someone in mourning, and heavy, dark make-up coating her face.Â
But not Maddie Fenton.Â
Oh no.Â
Aside from being a ghost hunterăźa career path that was, regrettably, not held in high regard by her entourageăź, meaning she wasnât one to judge othersâ live choices, Maddie was just shocked to see her son with a girl. Period.Â
The last time sheâd ever even heard him gush about how pretty a girl was was in his Freshman year of high school. First over that Paulina Sanchez who, going by what Jazz told her, was Casper Highâs beauty queenăźit was only natural her teenage son would have a phase where he was after the head cheerleader; just like Jazz had a phase where she was into that motorcycle-riding bad boy with greasy hair.Â
Whatever happened to that boy?
And a few months after that he seemed smitten with Valerie Gray, the daughter of Damon Gray; a former security expert at Axion Labs thatâd helped them during the whole ordeal with the Ghost King. A pleasant man, but even he didnât seem to hold them in high esteem.Â
They went out several times all throughout the extent of two weeks, but just as she was about ready to squeal and tackle his little man for getting his first girlfriend and growing up, one day he dejectedly told them Valerie thought it best to remain friends.Â
Ever since then, romance all but became a taboo topic around Danny.Â
Aside from a few times heâd tell them he had a date (which never seemed to lead anywhere), not a peep could be heard out of him when it came to girls. Ever since he was well into his Freshman year, at the tender age of fourteen bordering fifteen, girl-talk became nonexistent.Â
And, Maddie had to admit, there was a time she came to believe her son never brought girls up because he just wasnât interested in them. Seeing as the only other person he ever spent time with was Tucker, Maddie once thought Danny was gay but too afraid to come out, fearing they might disown him or something.Â
Only for that little theory to burn up in flames when she tried letting him know she knew and fully supported himăźto which Danny almost choked to death on his breakfast, before fervently denying any sort of romantic relationship with his best friend.Â
He swore up and down the reason he never brought up the topic of romance was because there wasnât anyone he was interested in. Something he religiously followed, never even talking about a girl (or boy, Maddie still kept that possibility open) who heâd simply come to think was pretty in passing.
Until now.Â
Now there was a lovely young lady in her kitchen. Sitting right beside her baby, who looked as embarrassed as if he were a teenager again and was being bombarded with a thousand photos of him and his date for Homecoming. Now, Maddie wasnât quite knowledgeable on street fashion and subcultures as sheâd been back in college, but just by looking at this girl (who was staring, wide-eyed, right back at her) she could tell she used her clothes to express herself and her individuality.
She knew who she was or, at least, who she wanted to be. Good.Â
Straightening her back slightly, Maddie tried to put the girl at ease using her most motherly tone. âOh, hello there!â She walked over to her and reached out her hand for her to shake. She noted with pleasure she had a firm yet gentle grip. Oh, dear God, please let this girl be the one for Danny! âI donât think weâve met. Iâm Maddie, Danny and Jazzâs mother.â
âOh! UhâŚâ With a start, she smiled back at the kind woman in front of her, albeit feeling a little awkward. âIâm Sam. Iâm friends with Dannyăźnice to meet you.â
âBelieve me, Sam,â Maddieâs grin widened, âthe pleasureâs all mine.â
Feeling self-conscious all of a sudden, probably from the countless hours of etiquette classes her mother had drilled into her head, Sam jumped to her feet to greet the woman before her properly.Â
The Goth was in awe at the sight before her. Mrs Fenton had to be a woman in her late-forties to early-fifties, given sheâd given birth to two kids who were now in their early twenties, and yet she didnât look a year over thirty. She had to be one of the most beautiful women sheâd ever met, with her auburn bob cut that had only the tiniest hints of a grey hair or two; her smooth, wrinkle-free face thatâd make Pamela sick with envyăźsheâd spent a fortune on skincare products and even then she didnât look nearly as young as Dannyâs mother; and she had to have the best figure sheâd ever seen, even after given birth twice! As unorthodox a piece of clothing as it was, her blue hazmat suit hugged her body perfectly, accentuating all her curves. Mrs Fenton was probably only second to Delilah in terms of voluptuousness, but seriously, that woman was basically a goddess walking on Earth. And her deep, purple eyes hid a mixture of motherly warmth and care as well as an intelligence and sharpness rivaled only by Grandma Ida.Â
It was funny, Sam noted. Had Mrs Fenton been born a witch, and she probably would be ruling the coven now, not her.Â
âAnd Iâm Jack Fenton, nice to meet you kiddo!â Dannyâs father exclaimed, trapping Samâs hand in a deadly grip. He was shaking her hand so enthusiastically Sam was genuinely surprised he wasnât shaking her up and down like a rag doll.Â
âNice to meet you too, Mr Fenton.â She said, taking a good look at the man whoâd raised Danny.Â
Mr Fenton was...how could she put this gently? The opposite of his wife. He wasnât ugly by any means! But while Maddie looked like she could be on the cover of a fashion magazine, he was a rather plain-looking fellow. Jack was a man of great girth, although not necessarily overweight; he certainly had enough energy to get an electric plant running with nothing but his personality. Clad in a large, orange hazmat suit that somehow both matched and clashed horribly with his wifeâs more classy blue, his age was far more apparent. Perhaps he didnât look like he had a foot on the other door, but the years hadnât been as kind to him as theyâd been to Mrs Fenton. He still had a full head of hair, but his sideburns and his nape were already stark white, while the hair on his head kept some colourăźa dark grey. The little bit of skin Sam could see (mostly his face, really), with his strong, squared jaw, was mostly unblemished, except for crowâs feet around his round eyes. He definitely didnât look too old, just...older than his wife.
Even then, Sam could still make out enough details that showed this was Dannyâs dad.Â
At first glance it seemed both Fenton kids took mostly after their mother (a never-ending source of comfort for them, she was sure), but there was enough of Jackâs genes in their appearance to tell the kinship.Â
Judging from his mop of grey hair, Sam figured he used to have black hair, not unlike his sonâs messy locks. If she looked closely, the girl could make out Mr Fentonâs eyes; a dark shade of greyish blue, similar to Dannyâs icy stare and Jazzâs inquisitive, aqua eyes. And last but not least, there was the issue with their height. Mr Fenton was huge! Probably the tallest member of the family, and that was saying something. Even Danny, standing at an impressive 5â9, was towered over by his dad. Jazz took after her mum in that regard, thank Goodness.
So, summing up.
A lovely, genius daughter working on her PhD; a charming, witty, hot-as-Hell (who said that?!) son about to work with NASA; a mother who was both gorgeous and another genius, and a huge father who might not be George Clooney but seemed to be a very decent human being (and, considering he was an expert ectologist and inventor, another genius to boot).Â
What was this, the over-achieving family? A family specifically designed to excel in everything her own family already didnât hold a candle to anyone to?! And did she really have to be so short in comparison!?
As much as the stereotypically girly part of herself she worked so hard to push down squealed over a healthy height difference between a possible boyfriend and her, the number of inches Danny had on her was just ridiculous. And now it turns out his entire family is better than hers one way or another. Unless she performed magic in their very kitchen, Sam had no idea how she could possibly impress her in-laws. Ever.Â
And, she realised with a start, her mind was veering into insane territory again⌠She rationalised she was just thinking itâd be very difficult for her to impress the Fentons if she were to date Danny. Which she wasnât going to do. Ever. They were just friends and her life was too complicated to even be thinking about romance right now. Besides, sheâd never be able to live with herself knowing sheâd have to keep her partner (be it Danny or someone else entirely) in the dark about a huge aspect of her life.Â
Danny deserved way better than the kind of life her dad was stuck with.Â
Almost as if sensing her inner monologue, Jack almost gave her a heart attack when he spoke next. âSorry to keep you waiting, Sam. We thought itâd be Tucker who Danno would bring over.â He placed a hand on his wifeâs shoulder and brought her closer to him. âSo imagine our surprise when we see you here! We mightâve been a little too overzealous about it.â
âA little?â Sam heard Jazz whisper to her brother, her voice dripping with sarcasm.Â
âThatâs right,â Maddie agreed, her smile so wide her cheeks hurt and a sense of impending doom gripped her sonâs heart. âItâs just been so long since Danny last brought a girlfriend home, and so beautiful too!â
His cheeks practically on fire, Danny was quick to shout, panicking, âSheâs not my girlfriend!â, at the same time as Sam, equally embarrassed, exclaimed, âIâm not his girlfriend!â
The Fenton matriarchâs good mood deflated a little at that. âYouâre not?â
âNo, Mum. Sheâs not.â Danny confirmed as he scrubbed his face with one hand. Why was it that every time he brought home someone other than Tucker they immediately assumed he mustâve found the womanăźor man, Tucker never let him live that one downăźhe was going to marry? It wasnât like he was such a recluse, was it? ...on second thought, better not answer that. âI already told you a friend was interested in meeting you, you told me you were okay with it and, well,â he said with some sarcasm in his voice as he extended his arms to his sides, making a flourish, âhere she is.â
âWell, yeah. But when you said âfriendâ we thought you meant Tucker, son.â His dad admitted, scratching the back of his head.Â
âI have more friends aside from Tuck, you know?â
If his parents immediately assuming Sam was his girlfriend and openly addressing her as such right in front of her hadnât been mortifying enough, the deafening silence that settled in the kitchen then certainly was.Â
Was he really that much of a loser his parents didnât seriously believe him capable of making friends with people outside of Tucker? Granted, most of his friendsăźDora, Wulf, Frostbite, CujoâŚăźwere the very same creatures from another dimension theyâd sworn to hunt down, strap to a lab table, and dissect âmolecule by moleculeâ, so they couldnât possibly know about them. But come on!
Grimacing at the uncomfortable, and a little humiliating, atmosphere, Jazz cleared her throat to catch their parentsâ attention. âI think what Danny means is that, if heâd really wanted to invite Tucker over, he wouldnât have even asked your permission for it.â The moment her mum and dad crossed their arms over their chests and sent her a disapproving look due to the way sheâd just disregarded their authority she was quick to backpedal. âA-after all, he practically spends more time here than in his own house! And heâs ever really been into ghosts to begin with, soâŚâ
Jazz had a point. Maddie sighed through her nose, a little disappointed. âI guess youâre right.â Her expression turned cheery again almost instantaneously, clapping her hands before her face as she redirected her focus on the hazel-eyed girl still standing awkwardly near her kitchen table. âSo! Sam, Dannyâs told us you wanted to meet us, whyâs that?â
âItâs not to place another restraining order on us, is it?â Her husband asked dubiously, his eyes narrowing on the young lady in suspicion.Â
Jazz facepalmed herself while Danny was too busy all but slamming his head against the table.Â
âWhaăź? No, of course not.â Sam assured him, shaking her head and hands in front of her as it to emphasise her point. âI, uh, I asked Danny if I could come meet you because Iâm really interested in the paranormal and such. Iâm a Goth; you see,â she gestured vaguely at her form, âit sort of comes with the aesthetic. So when he told me you guys were ghost hunters I couldnât help myself; I just had to meet you.â
Before the Goth knew it, the enormous man sheâd been talking to grabbed her around the shoulders with just one arm and, with impressive strength, lifted her up off the floor, a broad smile playing along his lips. âDonât tell me you want to get in the business?â He asked with the same excitement of a kid on Christmas.
âN-not r-reallyâŚâ she gasped out, the force behind Mr. Fentonâs grasp knocking the air out of her lungs. âI-Iâm just...really c-curious...t-thatâs allâŚâ
Panicking at the sight of Samâs face turning blue, Danny jumped to his feet, followed closely by Jazz. âDad, put her down!â In the blink of an eye he was by his dadâs side, gently coaching the raven haired girl out of his bone-crushing grip. The moment her feet touched the floor, Sam began taking greedy gulps of air, her hand in Dannyâs firm but gentle ones and Jazz patting her back comfortingly.Â
âCareful, honey.â Mrs Fenton scolded her husband lightheartedly, âYou know you tend to get carried away.â
âRight. Sorry about that, Sam.â
Too breathless to dignify that with a verbal answer, Sam limited herself to giving him a thumbs-up.Â
âHow about we cut to the chase and you guys show Sam what youâre working on, huh?â Jazz suggested, one hand still rubbing her guestâs back soothingly. If after today Sam insisted on being friends with her brother, he would have a lifetime of making it up to her.Â
âGreat idea, Jazzypants!â Jack exclaimed excitedly. He and his wife then proceeded to usher their kids and guest out of the kitchen and down to the lab.Â
Sam miraculously caught herself before she could snort. âDannoâ? âJazzypantsâ? She wouldâve laughed at the ridiculous nicknames hadnât she remembered her motherâs horrendous habit of calling her âSammy-kins.â
Did everything that woman do have to bring nothing but pain and misery to her daughter?
Walking down the stairs to what the witch could only assume was the lab Jazz mentioned earlier, Maddie turned her head around slightly so she could look at Sam as she asked over her shoulder. âI donât think weâve asked you about your family, dear; not even about your full name.â
âItâs Manson, Sam Manson. My parentsâŚâshe trailed off, making a grimace. âLetâs just say in twenty-one years of existence Iâve never been able to understand what they do for a living.â That wasnât technically a lie. Even if Sam was perfectly aware of her motherâs double life as a witch (mostly because she was destined to follow in her footsteps), the financial side of things always eluded her. For all she knew her dad could be a smuggler.Â
âWait, âMansonâ?â It was Jackâs turn to turn his head to face her, an bushy eyebrow raised in surprise. âYou mean like that stinking rich family living in the uptown part of town?â
Now it was Maddieâs face that lit up in realisation. âOh, thatâs right! Danny and Jazz did mention something like that when they came back from their night out.â
Sam shot Danny and Jazz a dirty look, to which they responded by smiling awkwardly in return and whistling a happy tune while averting all sorts of eye contact, respectively; âYou know, before I knew you my familyâs wealth was one of my best-kept secrets. Now itâs got to a point where Iâll be walking down the street and some random kid will point out at me and say, âLook, mummy! Look! Itâs that rich girl!ââ
âCome on, Sam,â a devilish smirk made its way to Dannyâs face. âYouâre making things up.â
âMaybe, but I wouldnât be surprised if it actually happened.â
Stepping down the last step to the basement, Jack extended his arms high in the air as he announced, âHere we are! The Fenton Lab!â
The moment she descended to the basement and was able to see the family lab for the first time, Samâs jaw all but touched the floor. Strolling down inside the spacious laboratory, she couldnât help but spin around, trying to find every single nook and secret laying right before her, marvelling at the sight.Â
The Fenton Lab was a greyish room with metal-covered walls and a tiled floor that occupied the entirety of the basement. Various machines whose workings Sam could only guess littered around the room, alongside several lab tables filled to the brim with test tubes, trays, notes, and neon-green liquids pulled up to the walls, as well as different beeping monitors.Â
But what had to be, by far, the most impressive device in the entire lab was the large, octogonal gates standing in the far corner of the room. They were currently closed, their yellow and black striped doors in full display, and the big, red lightbulb Sam suspected would blink when used was turned off resting on top of it.Â
Taking a step closer, one hand pointing at the machine, she breathed out in awe, âWhoa...Whatâs that?â
âYou have a good eye!â Maddie complimented as she came to stand right beside her guest. One hand directed at their most prized invention and the other on her hip, it was obvious she was about to give a lecture worthy of any college professor. âThis is the Fenton Ghost Portal. Our greatest invention yet.â
The Gothâs eyebrows shot up to the ceiling. âThe Fenton Ghost PortalâŚ?â She echoed, astonished.Â
The hazmat clad lady hummed in response. âThatâs right. This baby is our pride and joy; a little pipe dream weâve had since college. Isnât that right, Jack?â
âYou got it, baby!â Mr Fenton agreed, crossing his arms with a proud smile on his face. âExcept thereâs nothing impossible about this beauty. Dreams do come true!â
âAlthough,â Maddie added, a grim look on her face, âwe almost indefinitely put the project on hold after...an unfortunate accident back in our Sophomore year in Wisconsin University.â
Taking advantage of the distance between them, Sam, and their parents, Danny leaned in closer to Jazz to whisper in her ear, âUnfortunate in more ways than one.â If only his parents knew that day they created a monster...Although the time he travelled through time to their college days proved nothing couldâve prevented Vlad from turning into the frootloop he was today. The monster inside him had nothing to do with his ghost half.
Unaware of the exchange taking place between the siblings, the Goth girl asked, âAn accident? What happened?â
âThe prototype malfunctioned and ended up blasting good olâ Vladdie in the face.â Jack explained, a distant look in his eyes.Â
âMaybe if he hadnât stuck his face right in front of the working portal, none of that wouldâve happenedâŚâ Danny muttered darkly for Jazzâs ears only.Â
âOr at least worn safety goggles.â His sister whispered back.
Their father went on, not having heard a word that was said between his children. âThe exposure to the ecto-chemicals gave him a nasty case of ecto-acne that had him hospitalised for years. It took him over twenty years to forgive me.â He said sadly, only to immediately brighten up the next second. As someone who came from a family that usually only emoted silent judgement, fake cheer, or total apathy, Sam was having a bit of a hard time trying to catch up to all of Mr Fentonâs many emotions. âBut we finally patched things up seven years ago and now weâre all buddies again!â
Danny smiled in satisfaction at the way his mumâs posture stiffened up, her arms crossed defensively in front of her, and her forehead creased in aggravation. ââBuddiesâ might be a bit of a stretchâŚâ she mumbled angrily, before taking on a more neutral tone, âI donât know Jack. I still think the years have turned Vlad into a bit of a freak.â
âOh, donât be like that, baby!â Her husband whined. âYouâd be a little eccentric too if you spent all of your time alone inside a big, lonely mansion like he does!â
âI can attest to thatâŚâ Sam muttered to herself as she hugged herself, her eyes on the floor, years of lonely memories coming back in full force. Then she realised, âWait, did you just say your friend lives in a big mansion all by himself?â
âI wouldnât say all by himself,â Danny chimed in. âHe has a cat keeping him company.â
Ignoring him, she pressed on, âAnd you said his name was Vlad?â
âThat we did! Our good olâ friend Vlad Masters!â Jack confirmed with a huge grin on his face. His was the only smiling face amongst his family. Something told Sam Mr. Masters hadnât exactly won the crowd overâŚ
The raven haired girl turned her head to face the Fenton siblings so fast she almost gave herself whiplash as she sent them a pointed look. âYou guys are friends with Vlad freaking Masters and you think me having a little money is a big deal?!â
âActually, youâre filthy, stinking rich yourself.â Jack corrected matter-of-factly and, for a moment, Sam wished she could just forgo her grandmotherâs insistence on treating those older than you with respect and glower at the Fenton patriarch.
The only answer she got to her incredulous outburst were a pair of twin nervous laughs and shrugs.
The hazel-eyed girl took a deep breath as she pinched the bridge of her nose in frustration before turning back to their dad. âUm...and what exactly does it do?â She asked dubiously, redirecting everyoneâs attention back to the portal with a jerk of her thumb. She just hoped it wasnât what she thought it was.Â
âItâs a portal to the Ghost Zone, where ghosts live and all that.â Dannyâs voice confirmed her suspicions.Â
With his hands sticking inside his pockets he, too, approached the enormous machine, coming to stand right beside Sam in the process. Turning her head to him, her brow furrowed in worry when she noticed the way his forehead creased as he beheld the portal.Â
His face was bare of any telltale signs that would usually expose his true feelings on the matter; no creased forehead, no furrowed brow, no narrowed eyes, his lips were sealed in a thin, neutral line, and his hands in his pockets stopped him from clenching his fists. At first glance Danny was the perfect picture of calmness and indifference but something told Sam a very different storyăźcall it sixth sense, call it her witchy instincts, or just plain care for her friend. There was something...dark hidden behind his eyelids. As well as something else. Something oh-so sad it made her heart squeeze in sympathy. Dannyâs otherwise baby blue pools had turned the same colour of a troubled sea in a stormy night. Deep, and cold, and suffocating.
Lost in memories of times and misadventures caused by the eerie green hidden behind the portalâs doors, Danny started at the feeling of something warm sliding through his hands. Looking down, he saw Sam grabbing his hand in hers and giving it a reassuring squeeze. He didnât realise heâd been smiling until his father spoke up again.Â
âWell, Sam. What would you like to know?â
âUm...as much as you can tell me about ghosts?â
âWell,â Maddie took the floor, pulling her hoodie up and her goggles down. âThatâs quite a lot, and I donât think youâd feel comfortable staying at a house whose ownersâ youâve just met. So why donât we start with the basics for now and you come back here anytime you want to continue this conversation?â
âIâd like that.âÂ
âGreat. Now, come Sam. Thereâs so much to say and so little time.â With a motion of her hand, the ectologist gestured to the girl to follow her. Rolling his eyes and fearing what was to come, Danny pulled a chair out for his guest around a conference table standing in the middle of the room before taking a seat around it himself, Jazz following suit. Instead of sitting down like the youths present did, Maddie stood in front of them beside a blackboard Jack had dragged from the other side of the lab.Â
Picking a chalk up, she began to scribble down on the board. âYou see, Sam, the first thing you must know about ghosts is that theyâre spiritual beings from another dimension, unlike pop-culture and legends where theyâre described as the lost souls of the deceased.â
âThat is not to say some of those spooks werenât alive once.â Jack conceded. Unlike his wife, heâd ultimately sat down and was now tweaking with some strange-looking gun. âThe thing is, whatever humanity or sense of morals they might have had once is long gone. Now theyâre nothing more than ectoplasmic remains of human conscience.â
âExactly.â Maddie agreed. âThey think theyâre intelligent, rational creatures capable of free will, but really those are just delusions caused by memories they no longer possess.â
Danny had to hold back a growl at that, otherwise Sam or, even worse, his parents might pick it up and ask him about it. With a furrowed brow he slumped down on the table and propped his head over his crossed arms. They really knew nothing, didnât they? As excellent inventors as his parents might be, the way they approached ectology was closer to a pseudoscience than the discipline they claimed to have dedicated most of their lives to. As he and Jazz told Sam before, they were experts at everything one needed to know about a ghostâs innerworkings and how to exploit that to their benefităźand by extension his benefit, since heâd been borrowing their inventions for yearsăź, but they were absolutely hopeless when it came to their motivations, their ambitions; what made them tick!
Listening to them going on and on about the same old, misguided story was just painful at this point.
Or course they had free will! It was precisely because of that he was constantly fighting ghosts, because they chose to fight him! Nobody said it was a smart choice but, hey, it was theirs. Just like many other ghosts chose to stay in the Ghost Zone and live their afterlives rather than cause trouble. The Far Frozeners, Clockwork, Wulf, Dora once she was free from her brother's abuse...Those were all examples of very powerful ghosts that chose to live peacefully!
But did their parents care? Noooooo! At this point he was sure they just wanted a lab rat.Â
âThe one thing that truly motivates a ghost to do the things it does,âăźit; could they be any more dehumanising?ăź, âis its obsession.â
Okay. So offensive pronouns aside, that was accurate.
âTheir obsession?â Sam echoed. She didnât remember ever hearing about such a thing.Â
âIndeed.â Maddie nodded, still scribbling furiously down on the board. âA ghostâs obsession is what ties them down to our world.â She explained as she made a diagram of a human head with the word âmemoriesâ written on it and an arrow pointing at the silhouette of a ghost with the word âobsessionâ scribbled down. âRemember when we said ghosts think they have free will due to memories they no longer possess?â Sam nodded. âTheir obsession is those memories. It usually manifests in the form of something they used to hold dearăź.â
âOr something that eventually consumed them.â Jack added, not once looking up from the strange device in his hands.Â
âThatâs right, hon. Something dear or that eventually consumed them that was so important to them it became all they cared about when they passed on. Fulfilling that obsession is what motivates them in the afterlife.â
âSo, for example,â Sam started, a finger tapping her chin in contemplation, âif a person was so overworked when they were alive they ended up hating said job with a passion or even lost their minds over it, then anything related to it is their obsession?â
âVery well, Sam.â Maddie nodded appreciatively.Â
As Mrs Fenton droned on, her voice became background noise. Sam was a mess. She didnât know what to make of things so far. On the one hand, not only were the Fentons answering her questions and expanding on the knowledge sheâd been brought up with, it confirmed everything she already knew! Ghosts were dangerous and unpredictable; they couldnât be trusted because theyâd turn on you on a whim. Itâd happened before and that directly resulted in her people living in the shadows, terrified of being discovered, for centuries.Â
Ghosts were immoral monsters.
And yet...she found she couldnât fully believe anything they were saying. She didnât want to believe what they were saying. If ghosts were truly that bad, then why did Phantom try to put her to safety? Why was he always fighting other ghosts for the sake of the town? Could it be that Amity Park was his obsession and he was just trying to defend his turf rather than the innocent? But that didnât explain why heâd go out of his way to try and save her! Her, the Witch Queen, of all people!
Everything she once believed in and the questions thatâd been plaguing her mind collided against each other. She didnât know what to think anymore. But she did know one thing:
Sheâd promised Danny sheâd try to keep an open mind.Â
âThen what about Phantom?â She heard herself asking. When the Fentonsâ questioning glances rested on her, she had to fight the urge to shrink under their gaze. Come on, Sam. Youâre the Queen of the Witches of Amity Park and youâre doing this for your people, and nothing gets in between you and the sake of your people. She cleared her throat. âI mean, whatâs his obsession?â
âFudge if I know.â Mr Fenton mumbled, rolling his eyes.Â
âJack!â Mrs Fenton gasped. âDonât cuss in front of the children!â
âI said âfudgeâ!â He defended himself.Â
âAnd weâre not children anymore!â Danny and Jazz protested in unison.Â
Rubbing her temple, Maddie let out a loud sigh. âWhat my husband means, Sam, is that Phantom is a bit of an anomaly.â
âAn anomaly?â She raised her eyebrow in confusion. âAn anomaly how?â
Once again, the Fenton matriarch turned around to write on her board, only this time she began a list. âFor starters, the only sightings thereâs ever been of him only date back to seven years ago, and even then he was already surprisingly powerful. Then, thereâs the fact heâs constantly changing.â
âWhat do you mean?â
âFor one, just when you think you got all his spectral abilities down, he surprises you with some new trick.â Jack explained, ignoring the way what he said next had his son scowling and his daughter giggling behind her palm. âHeâs almost like a pageant dog. And then thereâs his appearance; when he first appeared he looked like some prepubescent kidăź.â
Must every ghost hunter assume I hadnât already gone through puberty when I got my powers? Danny thought bitterly to himself.Â
âăźand now he looks like he could be your age.â He finished.Â
âHis actions around here are both mysterious and suspicious, too.â Maddie added.Â
âWeâve been trying to catch him since he first appeared, but the spookâs been managing to give us the slip every time.â Jack admitted.
His wife patted his shoulder reassuringly. âAw, donât you worry, honey. Sooner or later heâll be all ours. Itâs just a matter of time.â
âBut by the time we finally catch him he might already be protected by the law or something!â He sulked. âHave you seen the sign when you enter the town? âWelcome to Amity Park; home of Danny Phantom!ââ He scoffed, narrowing his eyes in disgust. âMight as well just call it, âThe hauntedest place on Earthâ, itâd be more accurateâŚâ
âUh, I think thatâs already taken by some place called âCrystal Coveâ, Dad.â Jazz pointed out.Â
âEven if I do agree his increasing popularity is a cause for concern in terms of the townâs general sanity, thereâs still many people who see him for what he is; a menace to society.â Mrs Fenton reasoned.
Just a week before, Sam wouldâve agreed wholeheartedly with everything the Fentons said, but now she found herself squirming at the sound of their vile words. Had a few meetings with Phantom really warped her perspective on things that much? Looking down at her fidgeting hands resting on her lap, she had to deliberately stop herself from tucking a loose strand of hair behind her earăźbecause she intended to push hair from the shaved side of her head away. When was she going to get used to that spell?
Unbeknownst to her, Danny was watching her every move. He wasnât sure why, but the prospect of Sam siding with his parents and their misguided theories terrified him more than half the ghost fights heâd had in the last year. She was just so great...Even if theyâd only hung out a few times, he already couldnât believe thereâd been a time where itâd just been him and Tuckerăźand occasionally Jazz.Â
She fit so well in their group it was like she was always meant to be one of them. Luckily she seemed to have taken their advice to heart and was indeed trying to keep an open mind; she even asked about his ghost-half. The halfa guessed it was probably an attempt to convince his parents (or maybe even herself) that not all ghosts could possibly be bad. And for that, pointless as it might be when it came to the Fentons, he was grateful. He just hoped she wouldnât decide she was better off without him in her life.
Itâd taken him twenty-one years to find her, he couldnât lose her now.
Again, where did that come from?!Â
He had to go back to trying to have a somewhat balanced sleep schedule. Sleep deprivation was doing a number on him.Â
Just as he observed Sam, Jazz was keeping her eye on him. He looked so glum and tired...It was one thing having to hide who you are from your parents, but having to listen to them talk about how much they hate that thing you were hiding from them time and time again? It was enough to drive someone over the edge.Â
Just by following his line of sight it became obvious this time he was far more worried about what Sam may think of this, may think of him. And if there was one thing her baby brother didnât need, it was more things to worry about.Â
Thinking quickly, the redhead scanned around the room, looking for something to divert everyoneâs attention away from the topic at hand. As her eyes surveyed the dreaded Fenton Toaster (was that thing ever going to perish once and for all?), she took notice of an arrangement of pieces, wires, and circuit boards laying scattered on the floor.Â
How could she have possibly missed that?
Her voice breaking everyone out of their own daze, she jerked a finger in the direction the pile of metal was, âUm, what is that?â
Following her pointing finger, her parents' expression brightened up. âThat, Jazzyrincess, is our latest project; the Fenton Fermoir!â
âDad knows French?â Danny asked, absolutely flabbergasted at the revelation.Â
âIâve known for weeks now and Iâm still as surprised as you.â Jazz leaned back to whisper to him. Then she remembered something. âWait, I thought you guys were going to make a special keychain for Danny; that is not a keychain.â
Squinting her eyes at the assortment of scrap metal on the floor, propelled by her arms, Sam leaned forward to the boy in front of her to join in on the conversation. âAt least not one that fits inside a pocket.â
âOh, donât be silly, girls.â Maddie waved them off as she made her way to the yet-to-be-built Fenton Fermoir. âWe finished Dannyâs keychain weeks ago!â
âWhich reminds meâŚâ Jack rummaged inside his suitâs pockets until he fished out a simple set of keys with a badge with the companyâs logo on it and handed it to his son.Â
Bringing it to his face, Danny tried to appear enthusiastic. âGee, thanks.â He stuffed his new keys inside his own jean pocket. âSo. What does the Fenton Fermoir do?â
âRemember the portable ghost portal devices we created a few years ago?â Jack asked his kids, who nodded in response, then he noticed Samâs blank stare. âOh, thatâs right. You werenât there, Sam. The thing is, those gadgets could open up medium-sized ghost portals anywhere, so we thought we should perhaps try to create an opposite invention.â
âWait, are you saying this thingâs supposed to be able to close ghost portals anywhere?â Danny asked. This was great news! If his parents finished the Fenton Fermoir and it worked, then heâd only need to power it up with his ecto-energy and the portal crisis would be over! He wouldnât need to meet or rely on Lady Arcana anymore!
Somehow, the thought of not seeing the violet-eyed witch made his insides twist and his heart feel hollow.Â
Man, sleep deprivation was getting worse each time!
âIf we can get it to work.â Maddie lamented, kicking a cylindrical-looking piece around. âWhenever we try something happens and shuts it off! Itâs almost as if our regular energy source isnât the right one...or at least not enough.â
Well, there went his solution.
âSo for now weâre stuck redesigning and rebuilding this baby until we find the right one.â Jack said optimistically.Â
âItâs getting late, though, so why donât we go upstairs and have dinner, hm?â Maddie suggested. âSam, would you like to stay?â
The Goth was hesitant to reply. âUh, Iâd love to. But what are we having? Itâs just...I, uh, I donât eat meat.â
âDonât worry. I always buy plenty of vegetables Danny and his dad barely even look at. You can have that.â
âHey!â Both men cried out, offended.Â
Giggling, the three women went back upstairs, followed closely by the still outraged men.Â
During dinner, the weirdest thing happened.Â
Nothing bad, really. But it was something Sam wasnât used to at all. Most of the time, she only ever felt comfortable with her family when Grandma Ida was present, since she always acted like the understanding voice of reason she was beloved for back in the clan. And ever since she passed away, the atmosphere in her house was so tense you could cut it with a knife. The otherwise deathly quiet family dinners were only ever interrupted by her parents discussing how the business was doing, Motherâs next big, exclusive eventăźsometimes they were true, sometimes they werenâtăź, or to bring up her inadequacy as their daughter and, hence, heiress to then Manson name.Â
The tension only melted away, even if just a little, when it was just her dad and her.Â
But the FentonsâŚ
Everything was so different. Animated chatter never left the table. Food was being passed around; conversations took place and questions about everyoneâs day were asked; every once in a while someone would make a joke that would either elicit laughter or pained groans from everyone present...even herself.Â
Their families really were very different.Â
Despite everything, Sam loved her parents and knew, deep down, they loved her back. Her mother in particular just had a very selfish way of showing it. But the Fentons...They werenât perfect. The way Danny and Jazz learned to rely on each other as well as their parentsâ single-minded focus on their career were proof enough of that. But everyone sitting around that kitchen table, eating steak with a serving of mashed potatoes and peas, clearly loved each other very much.
When it came to family, life was a lottery.Â
Sometimes you got heartless monsters, and other times you got loving people who were only humans and occasionally made mistakes.Â
Maddie stopped mid-sentence, her fork with a piece of steak hanging in mid-air, because she noticed her husband doing something he shouldnât. âJack, are you still tweaking with that, even now?â
Stiffening up, for heâd been caught, he tried to play it cool. âUh, no?â His wifeâs arched eyebrow spoke volumes, making him give in. âYes. But you canât honestly expect me to stop now, babycakes! Not when Iâm about to have a breakthrough!â
âI know I'm going to regret thisâ Jazz muttered, rolling her eyes, âbut whatâre you working on, Dad?â
The orange clad man replied by holding out his creation for all to see. It was a funny-looking, double-cannoned gun that had what seemed to be a compartment filled with goo in its back. âBehold, the new and improved Fenton Foamer!â He announced loudly before adding, almost as an afterthought. âNow in pocket size.â
Not understanding a word that was being said, Sam let the family talk, her focus directed at her stir-fried vegetables.Â
âIs there something wrong with the old Fenton Foamer?â Danny asked.Â
âNo, but it never hurts to revisit your old work and try to improve it, son.â He replied, patting the device with one gloved hand. âNot only is this beauty more appropriate for travelling, but Iâve also been tinkering with a new formula for the foam. Trust me, nothing could possiblyăź.â
All of a sudden, when the patting became too much for the prototype to handle, a âsplurtâ sound could be heard at the same time as a bright, green goop flew across the table. Everyoneâs jaws dropped in mortification.Â
âăźgo wrong.â Jack finished lamely, earning himself the disapproving looks of everyone present but Sam.Â
But that might as well be because her eyes werenât visible. The goop had landed on her, covering her petite form from head to toe in the mysterious substance Danny prayed to anyone who might be listening wasnât toxic.Â
Panicking, he was by her side in the blink of an eye. He was trying to wipe the foam away with a napkin as he apologised profusely. âOh, my God! I am so, so sorry, Sam. I promise, Iâll clean you up. Or, even better, Iâll pay for the dry-cleaning. Sorry. Iâm sorry. I promise, my dadâs inventions arenât usually harmful to humans; a little electric shock at most. Iâm so sorry, Sam. Please, forgive me.â
Under the Fentonsâ concerned gaze, Sam lowered her face slightly, enough so they could make even less of her expression. Then she began to shake, Danny was sure from rage, and make indistinguishable sounds. Just as everyone braced themselves for the worst, the Goth threw her head back and laughed so loudly she caught them all off guard for a second. She kept on cackling almost maniacally to the point she had to hug herself, holding her sides that were, most definitely, going to split open if she kept this up.Â
A little unnerved by her behaviour, Danny could only ask, âUh, Sam? Are you alright?â
âW-why...why w-wouldnât...I-I be?â She replied with a question of her own as her laughter calmed down to giggles.Â
âUm, not to be Captain Obvious here, but you just got covered from head to toe in goopâŚâ Jazz pointed out uncertainly.Â
âOh, I know. Trust me, itâs fine.â The Goth said as she used her hands to wipe said goop from her eyes and face. She furrowed her brow in confusion when she finally noticed the familyâs worried looks. âUh...are you guys okay?â
âOh! Yes, yes we are. Itâs just...â Maddie began, unsure on how to address the subject herself, â not many people react so positively to one of our inventions going awry.â
âNormally youâd have issued a restraining order against us already.â Jack explained so matter-of-factly it made the Goth girl wonder just how much time this family spent at court.Â
âYeah.â Danny agreed, still trying to help Sam clean up with his napkin. âNot even Tucker wouldâve taken it so well.â
âI see. Well, what can I say?â She shrugged, smiling sheepishly. âI guess I just canât get mad when I find this so awesome.â
âYou find this awesome?â Jazz parroted, incredulous.Â
âUm, yeah. I told you; I love everything paranormal and, you gotta admit, this is the sorta thing that would go viral on YouTube.âÂ
âI...canât argue with that logic.â Danny conceded. He still couldnât believe it; Sam just got bathed in slime and her first reaction was laughing it off? Could this girl get any more incredible?
When she finally got to cleaning her hair free of foam, Sam had to do a double take as she slid her fingers through her hair. âHave you guys ever thought about selling this as a hair conditioner? Because, I kid you not, my hairâs never been this silky! I have a friend who would kill for something like this.â
âYou have other friends besides Tucker and me?â The question left his mouth before he could even register it. Samâs murderous glare made it obvious she didnât appreciate the jab.Â
Then, as if on cue, everyone broke down laughing. They all spend the rest of dinner chatting amicably and sharing storiesăźJack and Maddie even began to ponder on the benefits of selling the new Fenton Foam as a conditioner, like Sam suggested! By the time they were done eating, the whole family gathered around their doorstep to bid their guest goodbye. Danny, Maddie, and Jazz hugged her (Sam still wasnât used to physical contact due to her Goth indifference but this was nice), while Jack patted her in the back with such force it almost sent her falling down the stairs.Â
The moment the door to FentonWorks was closed, his parents were already asking Danny when was the next time Sam would come visit, prompting him to groan in exasperation and Jazz to giggle at her brotherâs embarrassment.Â

Henâs Night.
There is also a funny story with this one. @beccabarbaâ along with some others had asked for a follow on for Bucks Night, so I came up with this. I had sent a request, to which Becca wrote Taste of Vanilla, we hadnât spoke about the idea or the pathâs our stories where going to take and somehow, we manged to write some what of the same story...like they say: Great mindâs think alike when it comes to Nick Amaro xx.Â
Warnings: They are a couple getting married we will assume protection is all sorted & Smut.
WC: 1575
Enjoy x
Nick jumped out of Sonnyâs truck and rushed inside to see Amanda and your best friend Stephanie standing in the reception of the day spa in their fluffy white robes and slippers. Nick kissed both of them hello and Amanda handed him a swipe key,
âThatâs the key for her room, her masseuse walked out not long ago, she knows not to disturbâ Nick nodded and smirked.
âMake sure you keep it downâ Stephanie raised an eye brow at Nick âThe rest of us are here to relax. Room 3â she grinned and patted his shoulder.
âI canât make any promisesâ Nick grinned back and then kissed them both of the cheek making his way to the room you were in.
After his buckâs night last week, Nick racked his brains how he was going to surprise you. There was no way he could top what you did for him, you made all his fantasies come true, but once he found out that the girls had planned a day spa for your hens night before you were all going out for dinner and dancing, he roped Amanda and Stephanie in to help him pull this off.
He walked to the room door and swiped the room key opening it and walked in to the very dim amber lit room with relaxing music playing flowing through it. Nickâs eyes settled on you and his need to just jump on you almost took over before he took a deep breath to control himself. You were lying face done on the massage table your face in the face hole cut out into the bed, a white thick towel covering your lower half, your neck and back on fall display, the amber light making your skin glow.
His eyes scanned the room till he spotted a small bottle of lavender massage oil sitting on a shelf next to the bed. Nick reached down to the hem of his t shirt and pulled it up over his head leaving him bare chested and he walked and hung it on the hook on the back of the door. He then made his way over to the oil pouring some on his hand, rubbing them together and then walking to stand at the head of the bed near your head.
You had almost fallen asleep you were so relaxed when you felt hands starting to run down your back starting from your shoulders down to the edge of the towel and back up again,
âYour backâ you said sleepily.
âHmmâ was all you heard back.
You sighed contently melting into the bed as the hands ran up and down your body. The hands came back up to your neck kneading either side ever so gently before they came running back down onto your shoulders, over your shoulder blades and down your back before the tips pushed under the edge of the towel and you shivered,
âDoes that feel good baby?â Nick purred in your ear just as his hands got back up to your shoulders again. You gasped lifting your top half up off the bed your eyes meeting Nickâs and then scanned down to his bare chest and you grinned like the Cheshire cat.
âAbsolutely amazing. Best hens night everâ Nick chuckled and lent down, his lips meeting yours kissing you deeply.
âLay back down babeâ Nick brushed his nose on yours âWe have 40 minutes left- you might even get a happy endingâ Â
You giggled and laid back down, your head going back in the hole as Nickâs hands started to run up and down your body again, but this time his hands would slide straight under the towel over the swells of your ass cheeks and back up again to your neck. You could feel his hard on pressing into the top of your head when he tapped your shoulder and asked you to roll over onto your back putting a pillow under your head.
Nick picked up the bottle of massage oil again putting some more onto his hands and then he was back at your head, his big warm hands landing on the tops of your shoulders, running down over them, over your breasts, his palms pushing slightly on your nipples, over your ribs, over your belly pushing under the towel slightly, Nickâs chest almost pressed on your face and you stuck your tongue out running the tip of it over his hot slightly salty tasting skin, Nick moaned before he ran his hands back up to your shoulders.
Nick tilted your head to the side his lips landing where your neck meets your shoulder and started to kiss nipping slightly, but not enough to mark you, while his hands ran back down to your tits, taking both nipples between his thumbs and pointer fingers, twisting and tugging on them gently, making you squirm and moan slightly. Nick kissed up to your ear, his lips nipping at your ear lobe while he played with your nipples,
âBe a good girl and keep it down Amorâ Nickâs voice was husky in your ear.
Nick pulled away from you completely walking to the foot of the bed and folding up the towel so that it was all resting on your thighs. Nickâs hand met both your ankles first before he started to run them up your leg to your knees and back down again. Nick done it again, this time his hands resting on the inside of your legs, starting at your ankles running straight up under the towel, his fingers brushing over your wet folds and he done the same actions again,
âNickâ you whined âStop teasingâ
A wicked grin pulled to Nickâs lips, his hands ran up to the back of your knees cupping the backs of them pulling you down the bed, your ass meeting its edge and he lent down throwing your legs over his shoulders and he pulled the towel off you throwing it on the floor.
âRemember baby, keep it downâ
Nick looked up at you before he lent down licking up your pussy, your wet covering his tongue. You moaned slightly when his tongue pushed into you. One of your hands went to the back on his head and your other came up to cover your mouth to muffle your moans. Nick slid in two fingers into your warm, wet centre pumping them in and out of you fast while he worked on your clit with his lips and tongue. You thrusted your hips up and one of Nickâs strong solid arms came up to rest on your hips holding you down.
âNic- Nickâ you panted through your hand just as your back arched completely off the bed your release charging through you and you flopped back down on the bed breathless.
Nick didnât give you much time to recover as he pulled away un doing his jeans and pushing his boxers down, pulling you down further off the bed, his hands bracing you as he slid into you bottoming out. The sting of the way he stretched you a pleasurable pain. Nick started to thrust into you with hard deep thrusts, hitting your sweet spot every time,
âTouch yourselfâ Nick panted.
âOh Nickâ you moaned.
You brushed your finger tips up the side of your body, that feeling mixed with Nickâs grip around your hips made you wrap your legs around him pulling him in closer as your hands went up to grope at your boobs. Nickâs eyes glued to them as they bounced around in your cupped hands while he thrusted into you. Nick could tell by your breathing that you were fighting to keep quite. He let go of your hips grabbing onto your wrists pulling you up onto him so you were chest to chest.
Nick hooked on arm around you, so that his hand went over your mouth and his other wrapping around you to support you. One of your arms went around his neck and your other snaking down between you both to find your needy pearl, your whole body on fire as it was pushed to the edge,
âI love you Y/Nâ Nick panted âI canât wait to marry youâ
And with that, a hard thrust of his hips and a roll of your clit you screamed into Nickâs hand, your eyes slamming shut so tight you saw stars. You felt Nick thrust into you and go stiff grunting almost silently as he came deep inside you. Your heavy breathing filled the room over the music. You dropped your legs slowly from around Nick, and he pulled out, taking his hand away from your mouth and lifting you back on the bed, your legs dangling over the edge, he still standing between them,
âWowâ you puffed out âCanât wait for the wedding nightâ you giggled breathlessly giving Nick a wink.
Nick laughed bringing his hands up to cup your cheeks pulling your lips to his kissing him deeply before you were both pulled away from each other with knocks on the door,
âTimes upâ you both heard Amandaâs voice.
âComingâ you both yelled back together.
âYeah I betâ she yelled back.
You reached up kissing Nick again, your hands running up and down his chest,
âI canât wait to marry youâ
âMe too mi Amor, one more weekâ Nick kissed your forehead hugging you tight and you kissed his chest.
âOne more weekâ Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â

Moirai [6]
Chapter 5 - Chapter 6 - Chapter 7
â Words: 2.9k
â Genres: 60% Fluff, 40% Angst, Isekai!AU
â Summary: Death is supposed to be the end. Or at least that's what you assumed when you're hit by a TRUCK. But the moment you open your eyes again, instead of being sent to the afterlife, you've become a baby. And not just any baby. You're the female villain of a video game.
What the fuck.  Those three words encircle your brain as youâre drowned in darkness, body jolting while the wagon shakes violently down the rickety path full of rocks and holes.  Bounded and blindfolded, you shift around until you can feel the wall and you use the remaining strength in your body to sit upright. Whoever kidnapped you clearly wasnât the brightest when they decided to tie your wrists together in front of you. With just a bend of your elbows, youâre able to tear the blindfold off of your eyes and spit out the cloth in your mouth.  It takes a second for your vision to focus.  Itâs difficult to see in the dark, but youâre able to make out the wooden walls around you and the hay underneath your form. You figure out that youâre in the back of a windowless wagon, heading to god knows where.  You canât believe this. You canât begin to fathom how something like this could happen. But thereâs no point in banging your head on the ground and screaming.  You struggle with the tight ropes tied around your wrists and ankles, jaw clenching as it burns into your skin further. It seems like they coiled it around your limbs a hundred times and each moment your fingertips can graze one of the many knots, your fingers become more numb.  But you donât want to admit that your attempt is futile. That every movement only exacerbates the pain. You donât want to acknowledge that your effort is only making it harder for yourself.  âFuck!â  The wheel of the wagon crashes through a rock. The entire wagon angrily tilts. You slam back onto the hard ground.  Tears sting your eyes and you grit your teeth.  In the original game, it was the heroine who was kidnapped. It was a scheme set up by Anastasia. But itâs obvious that youâve taken her place, that a mistake was made, based on the threat they muttered to you.  You donât know who couldâve done this, who would have such animosity towards her. But you suspect itâs your own parents. If so, itâs a great irony that their own daughter got kidnapped instead.  Karmaâs a bitch.  You just donât know why you have to suffer the consequences for it.  âThis goldâll last me a lifetime!â thereâs muffled voices through the other end of the wagon, no doubt the perpetrators on the other side.  âAnd sheâll sell for a pretty penny!â  Chortling laughter grates against your ears.  You remember it was also in the original game that the heroine was rescued by whoever her love interest is. But you donât have a love interest. Most certainly Jungkook wonât be the hero and save you, not when Lucy reassured him that you chose to head to your bedroom early.  No oneâs coming for you.  No one.  Inside the wagon, you are an island. Or rather, it has always been that way. From the very start, you have been alone. Deserted. Fighting for yourself and fighting to survive the next day. You are a villainess self-turned into a side character without a redemption arc or a beautiful story.  Not only are you weighed down with your burdens, but you bear them by yourself.  Tears bite at your eyes, the temptation to succumb to your despair overwhelming.  But before the thick darkness can consume you whole, you force yourself upwards once more. Once more, you gain your balance. Once more, you attempt to undo your binds.  Once more.  And by your teeth biting into the rope, you manage to pull at a loose knot. Then, one by one, it starts to untangle, rope plunging downwards, and you yank your hands free. Your wrists burn, rough to the touch. But you donât dwell when you begin to frantically unravel the binds around your ankle.  You rush towards the door once youâre free and throw them open.  The wagon is rapidly moving, the horses attached are practically sprinting through the open forest. Every pebble in sight only lasts for a second before itâs gone in the distance. You grasp onto the edge, knowing you need to jump. You need to. Youâ  Canât.  At that exact same moment, the left wheel is knocked into a hole in the dirt road. The wagon jolts violently again and you accidentally stumble forward with a sharp inhale. You brace yourself, eyes shut tight, ready to collide with the ground.  But the impact never comes.  Instead, you open your eyes to find brown irises gazing into yours.  âIâm so glad I came in time.â The corner of Taehyungâs mouth upturns. Heâs out of breath, levitating in mid-air with you in his arms.  You grasp onto him with tight fists, still shaking.  The footman in front notices the noises, slows down and peeks over the wagon. âHey!â  Taehyung sets you down on the ground. âDonât look,â he says in a low timbre as if asking you to promise him.  You swallow hard and shut your eyes tight. Taehyung brushes past you.  You hear the footman and another yelling. And then theyâre apologizing. Thereâs the crunch of leaves, a shout, a crack of bones that startles you, and thunder booming in the distance.  âWho did this?!â Taehyungâs ear splitting voice makes you flinch. Youâve never witnessed him this angry before. âWas it the King?! It was him, wasnât it?!â  You turn around with your head down. You run towards him. Thereâs blood seeping through the dirt on the ground, but you donât give it attention to it as you grab a hold of Taehyungâs arm.  âStop it.â Thereâs a long pause and you repeat yourself. âStop.â  A body drops in front of you and when you lift your eyes, Taehyung engulfs you in a hug.  Youâre overtaken by his frame, his warmth keeping the cold away and for once, you give into the temptation. Your lashes flutter as your eyes close and you hug him back.  You allow yourself to savour the moment.  //  The palace awakens past midnight.  Barely after the feast has come to a halt, a guard with his sword by his side enters the throne room and strides down the aisle towards the King who was entertaining guests a minute ago.  âYour Majesty.â The guard bows. âPrince Taehyung is missing.â  âWhat?â A fist slams down on the armrest. The Kingâs face is reddened, wrinkles deepening as he scours his mind at where that boy could be, what he could be scheming. âDoes anyone know?â  âNo, Your Majesty. A guard of the Western tower found him missing and reported it. Only the guards and a few maids are aware.â  âThen search immediately! Report what you find!â  Several guards respond and rush out of the room.  At the same time, a maid stands at the doorway with her eyes wide in fear. She hesitates, then cuts through the crowd in the opposite direction, fighting against the current of men. âY-Your Majesty.â She bows her head at the end of the steps leading up to the throne.  âWhat is it?â  âLadyâŚ.Lady Anastasia is missing as well.â  The King is taken aback, not sure how the castle can be so chaotic at this hour, how it can spiral out of control so quickly after the festivities. He deems himself negligent. âHave you searched the rooms?â  She nods. âWeâve looked everywhere, Your Majesty. No oneâs seen her ladyship since the feast.â  The King sits back, brows furrowed deep enough to hurt. It canât be a coincidencâ  A guard swiftly enters the room. âYour Majesty, theyâve returned.â  There are whispers throughout the palace. Those who are still awake at this hour murmur under their breaths, taking second glances, knights and maids, servants and guards alike. They speak of rumours that are sure to be spread when morning comes. But the two of you donât pay mind.  Taehyungâs cape is wrapped around your shoulders, you squeeze his hand and approach together.  You donât know why you thought this would be simple. That you could just slip into your room, into bed and try to stop shaking by yourself. You were gone for far too long to do such a thing. There are too many eyes around, too many who notice when a single hair is amiss. The moment you came back, they told you to meet the King.  âWhat is the reason for your absence?â His eyes scrutinize the both of you as if you were on a scandalous endeavour â the Princeâs fiancĂŠe and the bastard son, a pair that would sure ruin the reputation of the entire empire. You donât even have time to think how far youâre deviating from the original story.  âYour Majesty, I was kidnapped,â you confess in a loud voice and the maid standing by gasps. She covers her mouth abruptly the moment it happens and retreats into the side.  The Kingâs eyes dart to her and heavy silence boils throughout the room.  You look at the man beside you, his fingers still twined through yours for reasons youâre not sure you want to divulge. âIt was His Highness Taehyung who noticed something suspicious and came to rescue me. The perpetrators ran, but Iâm safe thanks to him.â  You can tell the few people in the room are surprised Taehyung has the capabilities to save you. And that he did. A courageous act that is sure to gain reward.  The King makes a disgruntled noise at the back of his throat. âI will find the people responsible for daring to threaten the next Crown Princess.â  As if the throne hall was not full of nosy people already, the Duke and Duchess enter with frenzied expressions. Itâs unsettling to see them feigning concern. If anything, youâre guessing theyâre simmering with anger that their men captured the wrong girl.  But it still doesnât stop your mother from coming to look at you, grasping onto your arm while your father addresses the King, âYour Majesty. We heard the news a moment ago andââ  âNo need for the formalities, Herrick.â He smiles cordially. âYou should take your daughter to rest. We can discuss this matter at a better hour.â  He nods and they both usher you out with a parade of servants. But you donât miss the chance to peek over at your shoulder to look at Taehyungâs form until you have to turn the corner.  You stay silent as you lead them into your room.  The doors shut, servants outside for the time being and you turn to face your parents. âYou did thisâŚ.didnât you?â  Your motherâs expression is cold and impassive. âExcuse me?â  âCanât you be honest with me?â you plead from them, desperation leaking into your tone. You ache for their sincerity, for their compassion. âI know they captured the wrong person and I know the only people who would want to harm the baronâs daughter are the both of you. You probably thought she was in my wayââ  âYouâre tired, Anastasia.â Your mother waves you off. âYou should rest.â  âWhat happens if the King investigates and this leads back to the Devereux house?â Your voice never wavers, feet rooted into the ground. You know theyâll make sure it never traces back to them. But theyâve gone quiet once youâve mentioned the title theyâve risked. Your fatherâs frown is unmistakable and your mother doesnât look at you. âDonât do things like this anymore. Please.â  The two of them look at one another with faces you canât decipher.  Youâve never asked for many things from them before. But this time, youâre begging.  Thereâs a knock on the door and Jungkook enters a second later. He doesnât notice the tension in the room, the stiff atmosphere thatâs put you on the verge of tears. âAnastasia!â He comes to your side, scanning you up and down and your parents take their leave to give you privacy, probably with the hope that this incident will drive you and Jungkook closer together.  âIâm alright,â you lie and sit down shakingly on the edge of your bed.  Even with the horrors of your reality, you canât help but wonder whatâs going on with Taehyung.  //  Across the castle, the throne room empties.  Everyoneâs attending to the Crown Princeâs fiancĂŠe after all and an incident like this wonât be taken lightly. Itâs a threat to the royal family, something Taehyung knows most about since heâs the embodiment of one.  Taehyung turns away. âIf I can be excused.â  He doesnât expect a reward, acknowledgment, recognition. He didnât come to you for those things, but the King would never offer it to him anyway. Heâs the bastard son. The shame of the family.  And yet, he canât even leave in peace.  âI know what youâre doing,â the King speaks up in a low tone, a warning.  The dark-haired man halts-mid step, his brows furrowed in puzzlement.  The Kingâs wiry lips upturn but the smile never reaches his old eyes. âYouâre trying to undermine the royal family and take the crown for yourself. First by taking your brotherâs fiancĂŠe and then gaining the acceptance of the people. Winning the Hunt was only the first step, wasnât it? Iâve underestimated you, boy. But Iâm not blind to greed.â  âNo.â Taehyung turns on his heel to look at his so-called father. âYouâre blind to benevolence. You donât understand how someone could be motivated by something other than power.â  âWhat is it that you want then?â he challenges him. âIf not to take the throne for yourself.â  Taehyung walks away. âI want the one thing I could never have.âÂ
The flower petal is plucked.  Itâs pulled from its center and flutters in a downwards spiral, dusting the grass in a blushing hue.  âAre you okay, Anastasia?â Lucy leans in close, her murmur full of concern and you muster a nod as you continue to pluck flower petals. Instead of a game of he loves me, he loves me not, itâs Iâll live, Iâll die.  âI knew I shouldâve come with you. I was so worried. To think thatâŚ.that something like that would happen.â  You wonder what she would think if she knew that you took her place. That she was the one who was supposed to be taken out in the open in the middle of the night like that. That the both of you traded positions.  But she isnât the one to blame. âItâs not your fault.â  âLady Anastasia...â  âYou didnât know something like that would happen.â You muster a smile. âI was the one who told you to go back, right?â  Gossip about the incident has spread through the palace and past its walls, especially the fact that Taehyung was the saviour. He rescued you, saved your life. He was the one who came after you when you were confident no one else would.  How could someone like that be the villain?  You donât understand. No one does.  In the original game, Taehyung instigated a civil war and in one of the final scenes, he dies by his brotherâs sword as the heroine he had fallen in love with stands by his brotherâs side. The last thing he says is her name before he crumbles on his knees. A death that only brings celebration to the empire.  Itâs as tragic as your ending.  You wonder if such a thing is going to happen in the near future. You wonder if itâs possible you could avoid his bad ending as well as your own. But you donât know if you can prevent Taehyung from committing his crimes. You donât know if his hatred and jealousy will ruin him.  The pit of your stomach stirs uncomfortably at the thought.  Heâs done so much for you. Heâs saved your life. He shouldnât succumb to his darkness.  You owe him at least that much.  âLucy.â You snap back to attention, turning to the girl whoâs been keeping you company all afternoon by her own accord. âWhat do you think of Taehyung?â  You saw her earlier talking to Jungkook in the open corridor. It looked like they ran into one another on accident, but while you couldnât hear what their conversation was about, it seemed intimate. Or at least, youâve never seen Jungkook look so delighted and shy at the same time.  Usually, youâd watch from afar. Admire the scene at a distance.  But youâre not sure what to think of it anymore.  âHis Highness?â She blinks and admits, âIâve only held one conversation with him before. But he seems very kind.â  âHe is.â For some reason, your smile canât reach your eyes. âYou should speak to him more. He would be a good match for you.â  The girl is caught off guard by your bluntness and blushes while looking away. âI-I would never dare to dream of marrying into the royal family. Iâm already honoured to be your friend, Anastasia.â  Your arm extends and you clasp your hand on top of herâs thatâs within her lap. âThen think of it as a favour youâre doing for me.â  Lucy meets your eyes with a frown, unable to understand why youâre oddly persistent.  But she doesnât know that the only route to save Taehyung is through the heroine, albeit she will suffer the most and itâs the hardest path to take. Instead of being with Jungkook, itâs possible she can end up with Taehyung. But only she has the capabilities to save him, just like the game.  You look down to your ground thatâs filled with the remains of the flowers you ruined.  Itâs just like the villainess to have to destroy everything she touches.

"Come here, i need to hug you" + joenicky
Great minds think alike, you sent these within second of each other lol This was from the fluff prompt list.... whoops
Joe x Nicky +Â "Come here, i need to hug you"
Joe stumbled back into the safehouse a full hour after they were due to check in. He barely had time to take a breath, let alone check his surroundings before a hard body was crashing into him.
âOh my God, Joe!â
âNile-â Joe grunted out as her arms squeezed tightly around his chest, âIs anyone else back yet?â
Nile pulled back and shook her head. Joe nodded to himself and unbuckled his scimitar from his back, letting it fall to the ground with a loud thud. Even without worrying about the rest of their family, Joe didnât have the energy to deal with putting it away properly just then.
âIâve been in touch with Copley, he says thereâs no chatter about anyone being in custody,â Nile paused for a moment before adding, âyet.â
âWe need something to drink.â
Joe walked to the cupboard and fished out a bottle of 1975 Cognac and two glasses. Almost as soon as he finished pouring though, they heard the doorknob rattle as someone on the other side struggled to fit their key in.
âMother fucker,â came the unmistakable, though muffled, voice of Andy a moment before the door opened and she entered.
âHey boss,â Joe said, trying to keep his voice even, mostly for Nile, but a little for himself. He grabbed another glass.
âWhoâs back?â
âJust us three so far-â Nile stopped short of finishing her sentence when Booker walked in, covered head to toe in blood.
âHoly shit,â Joe said at the same time Nile said, âBooker, thank God!â
âTu devrais voir l'autre gars,â You should see the other guy, Booker deadpanned.
Joe couldnât help but laugh. It was hollow and nervous, he was starting to crack and he knew it. He grabbed a fourth glass.
They drank two rounds each -finishing the bottle- before Nile dragged Booker to the bathroom insisting he needed to take a shower. She didnât come back.
An hour and a half passed from when Andy and Booker arrived before they heard the door rattle again. Both Joe and Andy jumped up from where they had been keeping a silent vigil.Â
The door opened and Quynh walked in like nothing was wrong.
âWhere have you been?â Andy demanded, there was anger in her voice, but Joe and Quynh both knew it was only born of worry and love.
âTrying not to die,â Quynh said with a smirk, âunsuccessfully, I might add.â
Sure enough, Quynh was sporting a number of bullet holes, ringed with dried blood in the back of her shirt.
Andy nodded and turned to go wash the empty glasses. Quynh rolled her eyes and went to follow her into the kitchen. She passed Joe where he still stood next to the table. She clapped him on the shoulder and leaned in to whisper in his ear.
âHeâs outside.â
Joe turned with surprise to find Quynh smiling at him, she tilted her head toward the still open front door and winked before continuing into the kitchen.
Joe rushed out the door, practically tripping over his chair.Â
Nicky was leaning on the railing of the apartment building, looking out over the city. Joe closed the front door behind him.
Nicky turned his head to the side, not really looking over his shoulder. Joe could just make out his sad smile in the moonlight.
"Come here, I need to hug you," Nicky said simply.
Joe walked up behind him, wrapped his arms around his stomach and leaned his forehead on the back of Nickyâs shoulder.
âThis is you hugging me, Yusuf.â
âTurn around then,â Joe replied.
Nicky didnât turn though, he just sighed and leaned back into Joeâs embrace slightly.
âHow long have you been out here?â
âNot long, Iâve been with Quynh since everything went south. I knew she would send you out to me.â
Joe nodded into Nickyâs shoulder and moved an arm up to press his palm over Nickyâs heart, feeling it beating steadily. Nicky brought a hand up to rub the back of Joeâs neck.
They stayed like that for a long time. Eventually, Joe heard talking followed by an eruption of laughter inside the apartment.
âYou wanna talk about it?â Joe asked.
âNot really.â
Joe nodded again, he let a few more minutes passed before he spoke again.
âIâm seventy percent sure Nile showered with Booker when he got back.â
Nicky laughed, âtheyâve been getting sloppy the last five years or so.â
âHow long until they finally tell everyone, do you think?â Joe asked.
âMy money is actually on them just hoping they can get away with not having that conversation. Like, one day theyâll just kiss in front of us and hope no one says anything.â
âIâll take that action,â Joe said. He kissed the nape of Nickyâs neck, who shivered in response.
âWhat will we bet, my love?â Nicky asked. He turned around in Joeâs arms, voice seeming a little lighter, âIt seems rather pointless to bet our own money against each other.â
Joe pressed a soft kiss to Nickyâs lips. âIâm sure weâll think of something.â
Another bout of laughter echoed from inside.
âReady to go inside?â Joe asked.
Nicky nodded and they went in to join their family.
