team bolas rojas gas masks designs??

it may be more likely than you think..

this was my first time drawing a series of different gas masks, no idea if they’re accurate at all, but it was really fun!!

it’s a lot of notes so be prepared for an info dump.

NOTES:

Philza: honestly, what more is there to say than “CROW MAN!!”? aside from his goggles being glow-in-the-dark, theres not much more to the mask design. however, i decided, “hey! this is purgatory! i can fuck up these characters!” so, he has a ripped ear(?)wing and messily cut back hair. (i didn’t pay too much attention to the hair in this design, i was mainly trying to get the gas masks down, but maybe i’ll go further into later.)

Cellbit: this is definitely one of my favorites, he looks pretty scary, i would NOT stop my car if i saw him on the side of the road. its based off of a cat mask(obviously) and a painted white streak goes through his mask, inspired by his hair. i didn’t include it, but circles in the goggles are supposed to retract with different emotions (kind of how cat’s eyes do, saucer and dagger pupils.) he’s also covered in blood because he’s going through it lore wise.

Slimecicle: ngl, it was my first time drawing code charlie(other than all the wips i have that i’ll never finish),but i think he’s pretty spooky. his mask is the worst quality, like it USED to work well until he wore it out. thus, there are broken air tubes that let the gas in. (he should probably get those replaced.) the holes for his horns are kind of like an airlock, so the gas can’t enter through them (phil helped him make it.) however, it makes it difficult to take off.

Baghera: baghera’s mask is kind of built like charlie’s, except in much better quality. aside from the loose air tubes, the mask almost goes all the way around her head, not letting even the slightest bit of gas in. theres also a plastic duck beak on top of the regular breathy-thing(i have no idea what i’m doing, so, no, i don’t know the technical term for that) to give it the “bird touch.”

Jaiden: jaiden’s mask was FUN. like i kinda went overboard. i did these all on different days, and this was the night after the big egg battle day. i saw she had fnaf bonnie ears along with her bird gas mask, and said “ok cool. i’ll add that.” she has the same feather/beak thing i gave to baghera. also, hair-wise, she gets a hair bun and her brown roots showing through(we love messy haired cubitos ^^)

Foolish: foolish was interesting, not sure i like the final product, but i’m tired, so it’ll do. his mask is based off of a lemon shark. he gas glowing green eyes and golden splotches on the leather. the air tube foolish has is REALLY long. like unnaturally long. so he wraps it around his neck to get it out of the way. the other members are extremely concerned it’ll choke him one day, but foolish thinks it’s cool and will scare other teams away. kind of like a “yea, i’m crazy, i could choke and die at any minute, and i don’t care.” phil, being the protective father figure of the group, does not like this at all.

Carre: and finally, we have carre. ah, sweet, sweet carre.(he is my favorite.) his mask is based off of a snow leopard because i hc he’s half feline. carre has the lightest, and most simple mask, since it’s entirely plastic, and more so based off of skiing or snowboarding goggles.

ANYWAY, i hope these notes make sense, excuse my rambling about silly designs, i tend to doodle messily, and not really have a plan when i draw, lol.

CREATURE BLAST HC!!! aka what I draw inspiration from when drawing the phighters!

SWORD: avian + dragon. Red-shouldered hawk specifically!

SKATEBOARD: ladybugs. Straight up ladybugs

BIOGRAFT: not really anything.. if I were to creature them more I'd go with a stag beetle

KATANA: owl... great horned specifically. Or I could mess around with a great eared nightjar for him, hm...

BAN HAMMER: full dragon. I like giving him two tails I think it looks cool

ROCKET: the stargazer fish! Yes it's a direct reference to Stargazer Rocket! That's the point <3

SLINGSHOT: a serval. It's a type of cat I love it forever and always

HYPERLASER: polar bear + zebra shark. I used to go with just polar bear but then the shark tail hcs got to me

SHURIKEN: ngl.. nothing in particular. I wanted to give him leopard vibes but he just became his own thing entirely

MEDKIT: deer + whale shark. I saw a hc of him being a whale shark and latched on but I also liked the deer concept so... both!

Alexei - So many facts, so much knowledge, you'd be there from opening to closing. He's completely content to sit and watch jellyfish for hours while you info dump together. Will buy you at least three plushies of your most talked about animals. He loves the egg-yolk jelly 🪼

Brooklyn - Do you want the ultimate aquarium experience? He'll rent the place out after hours so you two will have the whole place to yourselves. Takes your knowledge very seriously, like stands with his arms folded slowly nodding his head as if you're telling him the most important info in the world. Fond of the decorator crab 🦀

Leo - Matching aquarium hats from the gift shop. Wants to do any available activities like feeding stingrays or doing the touch tank. Asks you a lot of questions about jellyfish. Frequent "Check this out!" in regards to cool things he found he wants to show you. Obsessed with the penguins 🐧

Milo - Super slow to move on to each exhibit because rather than read the info, he likes to observe the critters in their enclosure. You can't quite tell if he's listening to you or not while you unleash your facts. He is. He'll bring up something you mentioned about seahorses two months from now. Relates to the wolf eel 🐺

Rory - He finds the aquarium very relaxing and you notice he looks more peaceful than usual. He also legit reads all the placards and information on each species. He acts slightly annoyed with your info dumping, but you can tell that he's taking it all in. After your visit, he draws the bat ray a lot 🦇

Tobias - The S.E.A. Aquarium, L’Oceanografic, Curaçao Sea Aquarium Park - if you like aquariums, you will be flown out to see all of them! He might not have the biggest interest in marine life, but he will actually be quiet and listen to you talk about it. Tries to scare you in the shark areas. Thinks the leopard shark is rad 🦈

What's the origin of your blog title? It’s a blog about Bleach, Bleach, and Bleach. It was meant to be a placeholder while we built the blog but we never changed it. For my personal, whipplefilter is Lightning McQueen’s codename in Cars 3 when he goes to race at a local short track incognito. Seemed Tumblr appropriate!

OTP(s) + Shipname: I’ve never been shipping forward in my fandoms, but I primarily read RenRuki and HitsuHina, because I love all those characters and also their relationships. I’m also extremely invested in Hisagi/Akon, and would enjoy kind of doomed, not-actually-that-OTP-but-extremely-interesting-and-intense Matsumoto/Ichimaru and Yoruichi/Soi Fon. Also whatever Kira and Rose have got going on. Kira/Hinamori UST. The general vibe of every single VC having had some kind of thing with every other VC at some point (Yumichika and Ikkaku can come, too). I assume that at least once a quarter there’s a SWA meeting that ends up being orgy lite.

Beyond Bleach, my official “OTP” is probably Rico and Vanessa from Six Feet Under—both when they are soooo married, and also when they are soooo divorced. My babies. <333 I also cry about David and Patrick’s wedding every time I watch Schitt’s Creek. LITERALLY EVERY TIME.

Something you love: Snow. We’re in a weather pattern right now where everyone is happy it’s warmer and I’m sad because I hate freeze/thaw and I am preemptively missing the snow. I want more big storms. I want to have more free time so I could have spent more of it in the snow.

This feels like one of those questions that a genie asks you and you spend the rest of your life regretting your response, but honestly, there’s a man who wants to burn me to the ground and I really wish he didn’t. That sounds really dramatic but I’m not sure how else to concisely describe him, and I really hate this for me.

If you could travel in time, who would you like to meet? This wouldn’t require time travel, really, but I really want to ask Ludacris if he is aware of how he sounds in the Japanese dub of The Fast and the Furious (any movie past 2Fast), and what his take is on that... whole situation!

It takes a village! 🧑‍🤝‍🧑💪🦈

Our Animal Care team recently completed annual exams on all seven leopard sharks in our Kelp Forest exhibit. From aquarists to veterinarians and volunteers, it takes a small community of shark afishionados to get this important job done!

Each shark was brought up individually by the dive team, anesthetized, and given a full workup. Vet services drew blood, inspected gills for parasites, checked eyes, and examined the elasmobranchs via ultrasound. Meanwhile, aquarists recorded measurements as the sharks woke up.

These annual checkups are critical to the ongoing care of these amazing animals—and it wouldn’t be possible without the collaborative work of our dedicated Aquarium community! 💙

random shadow knight thoughts until i make an official post and actually know what i want them to look like.

WARNINGS FOR: (body) horror, monsters, dead animals (briefly mentioned), possible contradictions to myself (i try very hard to avoid that, but it's inevitable while i'm working through ideas).

i've mentioned this before, but shadow knights have several forms. for now, the working names are: imposter (human-passing), intermediate (the hulking, armored form you see in canon MCD), inherent (the form developed after "the remaking"), and divined (enhanced forms gifted only to ascended knights and the lower king, previously called a "beast form").

the process for turning someone into a shadow knight is going to be referred to as "the remaking" unless otherwise decided.

i've been recently inspired by cosmic horror steven universe AUs, resident evil, and the mandela catalogue, so i'm thinking shadow knights, in their natural form, are very vaguely recognizable by humans but very obviously not. here are some links to give you an idea of what i mean :3 (these apply more to intermittent forms btw!)

basically i'm going for something very uncanny valley/alienish with some biblical and some folktale aspects. but idk this is just me thinking for once /silly.

in order of most to least likely to occur, shadow knights resemble: armored netherian predators -> scaled netherian predators -> furred netherian predators -> overworld insect predators -> scaled overworld predators -> furred overworld predators -> marine overworld predators.

i previously mentioned that sasha would probably be inspired by a snake, but i think i'm going to instead base her off a ghast and a jellyfish and move the snake concept to a different character >:3

zenix's concept may change too... he was previously listed as shark/alligator but i may go for hoglin and/or bat instead but we'll see.

gene stays a feline, and laurance is confirmed as a wasp (maybe with some praying mantis traits).

vylad is kind of an enigma to me, but we don't have a lot of nether-inspired shadow knights so i might base him off of a wither skeleton.

i'm thinking coyote for vincent, snow leopard for amethyst, and maybe blaze for glenda.

man i really need to lock in.

shadow knight bodies periodically break down so they can re-strengthen themselves and it's so fucking nasty. i'm talking skin sloughing off, limbs tearing off easy, teeth and hair falling out. i'd say it happens really infrequently unless a shadow knight is severely injured or levelled. laurance thankfully gets kind of desensitized to his body falling apart, otherwise he would have crashed out early asf.

i'm kinda crazy and love rank/role shit, so in addition to the four ranks available to shadow knights, every one of them is given a role that probably dictates what their inherent forms look like. for example, sentinels are usually very tall and thin with large/many eyes and can sometimes float (to increase how much they can see). sasha, for example, would be classified as a sentinel.

other roles i'm thinking of are: mothers (remake knights), priests/priestesses (usually magik users who are used both offensively and defensively, often sent to the overworld to extend shad's influence), brutes (highly aggressive, offensive knights).

but idk i don't want this to get corny or like. dumb LOL.

last thing for this post is... sort of cute? depends on the individual.

shadow knights can get hellish cuteness aggression. because of who by and how they're made, most of them express themselves violently even if the emotion is positive. zenix would be a really good example of this; the guy is ALWAYS screaming or beating on something or eating something and it's just how he's wired at this point.

other than him, the rest of our shadow knight cast can keep themselves pretty much in check. they are exceptionally bitey if given the chance though. i also imagine they bring dead things to their select people as some sick symbol of affection. sort of like how cats think they're providing for you when they bring you a dead mouse, but it's also like "i killed this thing instead of you, isn't that cool?"

gene is like this, creepy mfer. when he finds dante in s3 he keeps leaving tiny dead things on his doorstep. nana assumes they have a sweet little kitty hanging around and plans to catch it.

Things I like:

Birds. I would consider them my "special interest." I have been obsessed with them for years and years. I have chickens, muscovies, and pigeons. I show pigeons. My favorite birds are large ground birds like peacocks and pheasants, also pigeons. Also i like birds with cool feet, like coots and sula nebouxii.

Art. I love drawing, painting, making perlers, writing, sewing, and crafting. I do not like crotchet and knitting is okay. I use my art to express my emotions and tell about who I am.

Fallout. Its a cool game, it has music I like and gameplay is fun. I love writing stories, drawing and making ocs with my friends about the fandom.

OSC. I love object shows. I like most of the "popular" ones, besides one. I did not really like one mostly cuz it was scary.

Furry Fandom. Despite my parents saying I cant use the term "furry" I still consider myself s staunch one. I love drawing and making anthropomorphic characters. I also make fur suits and love wearing paws, tails, and ears.

Cosplay. Along with fur suits, i make non-furry costumes. I love going to cons dressed up and hanging out with nerds and being silly. I mostly have made fallout cosplays, like my secuitron and t-60 helmet.

Planes. I love plane spotting, and going to plane museums. I also am a fan of the logistics of planes. My favorites are the Concorde and 747. I like commercial aircraft a lot more than military.

Barcodes. I am fascinated by barcode symbology. The science behind creating these 1d and 2d data structures is incredible fascinating to me. My favorite symbology is the PDF417

Animals. I love all animals, not just birds. I especially like bugs and fish. Some of my favorite non-avian animals include gar, trout, crickets, millipedes, hyenas, snow leopards, snakes, isopods, catfish, flounder and halibut, gharials, sharks, and eels. I also like prehistoric animals. My favorite is marrella splendens

Geography and Cultures. I love maps and flags. I also collect flags and can stare at maps forever. I memorized all the country flags. I also love countryballs. I also love learning about different cultures. Also learning about different religions is cool too! Personally, im a christian (the nice kind who actually loves thy neighbor) but I find the differences and similarities in religions fascinating. ALSOOOOO Im sorta getting into Ancient Rome but if you come and want to blabber about some war i will actually explode i strongly dislike war based history.

My friends. My best friend is @noomycatz. We met back in like 2022 in December. We have been friends ever since. We got to meet each other irl in the summer of 2024. That was the best day of my life. She means so much to me, and without her I may not even be around anymore.
