my favourite thing about tumblr is that it's not a community you really build based on people you know irl. I'm not meeting people and I'm like oh what's your tumblr, let's be mutuals
I know like 4 people irl that I follow on tumblr. 2 cool friends, my partner and my sister. no irl discourse is brought here. I'm free to be myself knowing that the people who see my posts are those who truly care and it's not just another platform I have to make sure I'm blocking that recently cut off friend so that they can't contact me anymore.

to be quite honest. shipping with CANON (not headcanoned) exclusively gay/lesbian characters as someone of the gender they are explicitly not attracted to is a form of erasure and lowkey homophobic. 'just make them bi' is a bad take. bi people are amazing and valid but not everyone is bisexual??? 'theyre not real' is a bad take bc representation matters and i feel like that doesnt really need to be said. obviously the character isnt real and isnt offended but gay/lesbian selfshippers can see how much you dont gaf abt their identities. gay people exist in real life too!!! homophobia is still so acceptable in fandom spaces and its kinda wild.

I hate the way everything has been reduced down to "discourse" these days. Like I can't even complain about things without being accused of "engaging in discourse", and it's like, no, I'm just complaining about something on my own blog. It's really not that deep, and you really don't need to reply to it.
Not everything requires your personal response. It is okay to just ignore things and move on. You won't die if you refrain from giving your two cents on vent posts that have nothing to do with you.

I like making schedules
I do not like following said schedules
#anyway trying to figure out what works in trying to not procrastinate on coursework combined with wanting to work on personal projects#but needing to figure out when best to get motivated to work on said projects#is an experience#im hoping to utilize the campus library and im dragging ny sib with me (/hj i proposed we go over the weekend and they agreed)#stick to time blocks and when those blocks are done move on#im making sure i have at least 1 day a week of no work (saturdays)#and then seeing how much time I'll have to put into my classes total throughout the week without burning myself out#(i have. roughly 16 hours? which is more than i tried last semester/felt confident i could do)#im also gonna be trying the pomodora(?) method + some other things like setting due dates early and how i take notes#We'll see if it helps 😅#amber's shit you can ignore
