I've been thinking about this for a while but I'm really baffled. I saw someone post a while back that Collies are getting larger, their Collie (quite small) is a more traditional size, but everyone I've asked who was in the breed 50 years ago agrees that Collies are getting smaller (this was even a complaint 50 years ago!). I don't know where this idea comes from. Maybe Collies in, like, the late 19th century were smaller, but it seems to me that they were declining in size as early as the 70s, where I've found articles bemoaning that Collies are turning into Shelties or that Collies aren't over 75 pounds anymore.

i love ichiban so much. like in general but like. he's so neurodivergent. so so much i haven't been able to let go of it since i started playing. he's still filtering everything through dragon quest after 18 fucking years in jail without touching it and his loved ones realize and adapt to this bc they're cool so theyre like,, okay,, lemme put it like this. so you got a debuff from your one night stand. it's gonorrhea. and he's like okay i understand. that blows but im ready to hear my treatment options. and then he'd handle it like a well adjusted adult. he just processes it in a roundabout kinda way. he's just like me fr. and he's fully hallucinating gamer shit in the middle of street fights and his friends (who he met 2 days ago) are like lol ok cool cat that's wild. keep hitting them idc. my stats are going up? that's actually really cool ty for telling me i love you forever. i would die for you. and they're right for it. like they just accept him as-is with little fanfare because that's just ichi. they get on his level conversationally and it's not some awful horrific burden to talk about a thing he likes. and he hallucinates and he's not portrayed as some scary monster or unsettling pitiable thing. he's a cool guy and he's got all these nd traits and i think a lotta ppl probably need to see that. it feels very humanizing to me idk. he's a deeply kind and intelligent and loyal and dependable and wonderful man. one of the game protagonists ever maybe THE game protagonist ever and he's always in fucking situations constantly, as is the case with every rgg protag. anyway i love him. i know a lotta ppl look at him and go oh adhd for sure bc he's bouncy or whatever. and while i question that impulse i see you,, but that is NOT all okay. my man has some comorbidities. he's at a quaint little buffet of the dsm-5. something is UP with him and he's doing marvelously and everybody loves him and I love him too. yeag

(not really sure how it works tbH) and its more of an intuitive feeling just kinda eating at her. I DONT HAVE A NAME FOR THE SHIP(s), nothing too important or flashy. i dont think shed work on galaxy class or w/e the family ships are.

in re: time duration of things in general for the arc???: current influencers are like:::::::: its not enough time to where starfleet's concerned to go look for them in the DQ, but they havent contacted starfleet in a while (maybe the mission called for "comm silence") but regardless, it doesnt sit well with philippa. it also has to be enough time for amelia's ship to like, get out to the DQ for their mission, for things to go wrong, for her to take charge, for the ship to MAYBE??? be destroyed (hmmm put a pin here maybe theyll need the ship to transport crew……), for the crew to get separated/captured/enslaved/killed, for amelia to try and survive on her own, for her to get captured by the Kazon and eventually rise in status to command alongside Sessen,,,, develop their friendship,,,,, they seem a little friendship platonic with benefits to me,,, might change my mind on that idk. ANYWAY enough time for their Kazon sect to fall apart/be defeated, sessen to die, have a few months of amelia nomadically wandering the DQ again and be slightly pregnant (can be four months, can be less if u wanna heck w/ gestation) my brain wants to guess around a year???, just cuz i dont wanna waste too much time on this arc when i gotta shove philippa into command track and CAPTAIN. and it'd be like another year of philippa searching for her by the time theyre reunited.

Not super sure what happens to the rest of Amelia’s starship crew? If any of them are found, how do they get home? PUTTING A PIN IN THAT ONE, i see a few possibilities but nothing super uuuuuh Solid haha. in re: how Ed meets up with Philippa out in the DQ: one idea id had was maybe theyd meet in an alien bazaar or something, Philippa getting into trouble because shes secretly carrying a starfleet comm badge to communicate and gets captured or something bc the locals hate Voyager, Ed gets her out and they escape together.

Amelia finding out she’s pregnant while she’s still with the Kazon and Sessen, just ‘cause I think they’d talk about raising baby by Kazon standards and tradition and talk about the importance of names. I think "Sessen" would have been the name Seska gave him when he was born and then he kept it rather than earning an adult name for himself, Amelia has a weird history with her name as well. She’s nervous about raising their son here, but buries those fears underneath the assurance that they’re together.

I was thinking that in the time after Amelia loses Sessen and escapes the other Kazon sects and everything that she'd kinda just drift from place to place trying to survive making ends meet doing weird jobs and trying to stay hidden. Philippa and Ed find Amelia temporarily living on a planet or in a cluster of asteroids as a space racer maybe? She’s like a little visibly preggers…

The dream is for Yuta to walk out with two belts. Realistically, never gonna happen. Hook has never lost clean and after the last loss he shouldn’t lose to shenanigans again. What I do want is for Yuta to bring the monster out of hook. I want this to be a blood bath and for both of them to get the crowd on their feet and chanting fight forever. I want when this match is over for the ftw belt to mean the bloodiest hardcore shit in aew. Hook is most likely winning this but I want it to feel deserved.

Andrade lost the c2 and with CJ still gone after the infection/surgery it would make sense for him to lose because she’s not around to cheer him on and manage him to greatness. RATING DIFFERENT MENTAL HEALTH COUNSELLING SERVICES (UK)

Soo bit about me is im bisexual, trans, autistic, depressed and have had some Bad Coping Mechanisms so trigger warnings for sh, suicidal thoughts, alcoholism and addictions, anything else lemme know and i'll edit this. When I was a young boy, I realised bad things in my brain and after struggling finally got encouraged to reach out for help, here's how i'd rate my experiences. First though, regardless of any of these ratings you should seek help, because even if the help sucks which it might, you get a little boost in your brain that you're trying and it could be the difference between 1 day but that 1 day is special. I believe in you. As someone who has been struggling for 10 years now, it does get better but your struggle doesnt magically stop. So this is in no way me saying "all help sucks dont bother" but the exact opposite like always choose to seek for help.

First we have Mr Big Boi Jo AKA the samaritans, I have reached out to them so many times since I was like 13. The email feature is amazing like being able to sorta control when you are willing to not only send the message but also check the response is wonderful. I'd pour my heart and soul out and then be able to step away and recover from that vulnerability, be excited for when I'd get an email back, if I didn't feel like responding in that moment then I would not have to. But they have a tendency to sign post you quite easily like i've been sent to chris at lgbt , childline, some autism stuff that rubbed me the wrong way. It can feel kinda like you're getting dismissed and told to bugger off. "But that's not what they're doing!" oh right i forgot people in mental health crises should think more clearly, how dare i think they may have thinking issues and be sensitive in those times, ridiculous of me /s so I'm gonna rate them 6.5/10. This also probably depends on who you get. I'm gonna have to DQ chris@switchboard.lgbt because I genuinely forgot I had any interaction with them, they seem alright and I suppose if you're struggling with gender and sexuality they're worth a shot? I'm rather comfortable in my identity now so I don't want to take that resource away from people for any experiment like this. CHILDLINE - Not just that one phone number you call if your parents are abusive. Genuinely childline is so misrepresented due to what we classify as abuse like if you are under 18, you can go on childline and play games, have a live chat feature with counsellors, ask on message boards, view message boards or send as an email instead of the chat. You can choose! I think it would be amazing even for adults but once again, no stealing resources. "But I have DID and it's complicated cause my little needs help-" dude I'm not qualified for that, you probably know more than I do like don't put this on me. I cannot remember one negative experience with them. I just remember being scared and messaging people, OH AND THE NOTES YOU CAN ASK THEM TO READ NOTES SO THEY'RE CAUGHT UP ON STUFF EVEN IN LIVE CHAT. 9.5/10 would be a 10 if I was still a child but I'm unfortunately 23 so im bitter. It may have changed but now but I strongly encourage people to try it because I didn't want to because I thought it was only for kids being physically abused, it's also for like teenagers who are self harming. SHOUT - Oh Shout, you are the most 50/50 out of these. I genuinely use SHOUT more than samaritans now but it can go really bad. I message and am like "hello i wanna drink myself to death" but if i do that on like friday nights or something, the wait times are massively long and I've found some other way to soothe myself but when they are there they do talk very gently, they offer valid resources about things like as pdfs this time not just links to websites of people that can help. It's similar to counselling in person imo so it's about vibes sometimes. 8/10 or wait/10 damn those wait times KOKO - I'm glad it exists but haven't found much help from it personally. I do like that it sorta puts less stress on people that want to help social media accounts in crisis like that's a very important thing we didn't have when I first had the internet and it caused a lot of damage but in terms of the rating of how it helped 4/10.

GP - OMG GPs right? Anyone in the UK that's been to a GP for depression will immediately be thinking "oh right a WALK ADN SOME TEA RIGHT??" because that's always your first offer. Always. I should also mention I never went to CAMHs because of how my GP saw me, I went to a different centre for at risk youths in a different town in the most wonderful and bizarre therapy I've ever had but that place has shut down and there's absolutely no way other people have had that experience because whenever I say this stuff to people they may as be looking at me like I'm talking about narnia. GPs don't really seem to take you seriously until you're 18. But people don't seem to be really listening, your antidepressants aren't gonna stop your depression. They're going to fight it a little bit but you gotta do other stuff to get the endorphins and that's where the walks and exercise come in. People will bitch about theirs not working and they don't listen to what the GP says like "they keep upping my dose cause it isnt working!" then you find out that person has been drinking every other day which cancels those meds out. So with all that said, GPs are getting a 5/10. Some of mine were really helpful, some sucked, age is a big factor.

I hope you are able to use this info or even just now be more aware of all the help you can get in the new year. It's time to get happy again <3

Okay so like our guardian is driving us and our cousin to Dairy Queen and I'm not a big fan of ice cream. I don't hate it or the taste or texture, but the cold stuff hurts my teeth and ice cream makes me feel really nauseous for some reason so when u go to DQ I usually just get the chicken basket and fries

(Also don't read any of the caps in an angry tone read them in like a very confused tone because i realized that i sound mad during this but im not trying to sound mad...social cues just exasperate me, if thats a word.)

I told my guardian that I wanted chicken and fries like I ALWAYS do when we go there, and this woman who has raised me for my entire lovely life, knows how picky I am, has notes on me specifically getting sick when I eat ice cream too fast, and regularly orders chicken and fries for me at DQ without me even giving my input since she KNOWS that I never get ice cream goes 'huh? You don't want ice cream?'

So obviously I'm confused and I say 'no? I want chicken and fries?'

'Are you sure you don't want ice cream?' And I say no again and she sounds genuinely confused for some reason and asks me again

AND IM REELING INTERNALLY CUZ...NO. WHEN HAVE I EVER GOT ICE CREAM AT THIS PLACE YOURE SUPPOSED TO KNOW THIS. Plus my brain immediately sort of malfunctions when she asks me again because I KNOW she knows this better than anybody else and now I'm assuming that saying that I didn't want ice cream meant I was doing something wrong somehow (why do I always assume this??? It's not like this was ever a problem with her before wtf)

since I just want her to stop asking me I go 'well okay then I want ice cream' even though I don't want ice cream and I know I get too sick eating it before I can even finish it so why in hell would I even bother

And then she suddenly is like 'you want ice cream? Are you sure?'

WHAT AM I DOING WRONG NOW I THOUGHT YOU WANTED ME TO ORDER ICE CREAM. So I'm like 'yes! That's what I said!'

And only THEN does she say anything like 'Are you sure you're gonna eat it? You usually get sick and let it melt before it's finished'

Honestly the trend seems to be to make a DQ themed side blog and post whatever you feel like, or just do that anyway! Our community is quite small but we're very friendly! We do our best to circulate every post!

Coming in at number 7 we've got Hendrik. I'm going to take his Canon fear of bugs and stretch it out to cover any slimy or creepy crawlies.

He probably wouldn't run away from a frog but he'd probably scream if one touched him.

Next up at 6 we've got Sylvando. I Don't think they'd dislike frogs, more of a look-but-dont touch kinda person. Unless it's Bullying Hendrik Time. Then touching frogs is acceptable.

At number 5 we've got Jade. She's a princess, and I'm willing to bet there are some stories of some attempted frog kisses from her childhood.

4 goes to Erik. Are there frogs in Sniflheim? Probably not! Not a lover but they're unique and charming.

3 to Serena. They're cute. Does she need any other reason?

2 to Veronica. She carries them around. Don't piss her off or you'll be the next turned into a toad.

And coming in 1st we have our batrachophile himself, the luminary.

This is just Canon. He put frogs in apron pockets as a kid and I don't think he ever stopped. Frogs are his partner in crime, move aside Erik.

Everyone loves lizards. Don't make me assign lizards because I will.

Will the Monster Hunter Movie actually hurt Monster Hunter the game franchise?

No. That’s dumb.

Every time a video game movie has come out, the involved series usually ends up doing well or were doing well to begin with. For obvious reasons Hollywood wants to choose a game that's successful. OR the movie manages to trigger interest back into the game series itself.

Examples

Tomb Raider: Game series ended up getting a fantastic modern reboot in 2013 with the new Tomb Raider trilogy, giving the series a much needed modernization. The movie in 2018 did not affect the remaining two games: Rise of the Tomb Raider and Shadow of the Tomb Raider.

Mortal Kombat: I mean other than some issues with the new game, MK is going pretttty strong atm.

Warcraft: As divisive as some of World of Warcraft’s expansions are, Warcraft 1 and 2 were released on GoG a few years after the movie happened, bringing back old fans. Plus we got 2 classic games to boot (they play like Starcraft).

Dragon Quest: Due to DQ 11 the series is getting into a new renaissance. Plus that Netflix movie looks FREAKIN GORGEOUS 

Detective Pikachu: Again controversial but Sword and Shield are the best selling Pokemon games of all time. Love it or hate it, it was a win for the Pokemon Company.

Sonic: Sonic games have always been a rollercoaster of success. While Sega is kinda... dying... atleast we got a good game leading up to the release of the movie in Sonic Mania.

Doom: Shitty movie in 2005, good game reboot. Good job Bethesda. 

Silent Hill: For a while the movies did better than the games... but with the hype behind Village (VII) I think the series is getting back on its feet. I don’t even like horror games and I think it looks fantastic. 

BASICALLY WHAT IM TRYING TO SAY IS...

A Hollywood movie does not actually ruin a game series. If anything the movie brings more attention to the series and therefore more fans. A huge majority of the video game movies either brought back an old game that no one knew about (Rampage, Alone in the Dark) or are series that are still alive and doing VERY VERY WELL today.

Additional moves: Assassins Creed, Far Cry, Street Fighter, Super Mario Bros (the movie we never speak about), House of the Dead, Max Payne, Need for Speed, Hitman, Tekken, etc.

I dont think any of these series died because they got a movie.

The only outliers I can see are Dungeon Siege, Dead Trigger, and Postal but like those are games no one really talks about.

I’ve done a lot of thinking about Janeway in Prodigy. And while its rather disappointing that the only female Captain (that is only - so far - lead female Captain) is returning to us in an animated format (though admittedly in Nemesis we saw her briefly as an Admiral) while Picard has returned to his own live action series ..... I am rather pleased with this. This is gonna be long so ...

First, let me point out that while yes Riker also appeared in Picard so did Troi. And likely so will others from TNG (not to mention Seven was in the first season). This to me indicates that Star Trek isn’t gonna do one of those Hollywood “female actors can’t return to their past parts” things that we can see happen. In fact, if you watched Lower Decks they are also willing to give us returns in regards to animated as well. Basically: all the new Star Trek we are getting are willing to give us returns in as many ways as possible and I am still going to hold out hope that now she is back for Prodigy we may get a guest spot on Picard.

Okay .... onto the good stuff ....

When they were picking out the cast and story line for Prodigy they could have gone with many things. They could have done a simple Starfleet Academy story. They could have even done a Vulcan Academy or any other of the trillion planetary schools out there for this coming of age style thing they seem to be going for. I mean, its a show designed for kids which begs for that coming of age but for Star Trek. Yet, instead of going for the easy ‘‘everyone would love a starfleet academy” story line they went for it. They grabbed a bunch of teenagers, juvenile delinquents out in space, and tossed them at a ship. These kids can’t just be running around on their own though, no. They need someone. They gotta have that parental figure. That guiding light to help save them, teach them science and engineering, and everything else under the sun. That figure who isn’t going to just drag them back to their actual parents and shame them into staying home - because maybe home wasn’t actually the best place for them. No, they need that figure who will take one look at them and go “Mine Now” AND WHO BETTER TO DO THAT THAN CAPTAIN KATHRYN JANEWAY OF THE USS VOYAGER.

Now, I know there will be a lot of debate on who is the best mom/dad/parent style Captain out there at this point. But for everyone who watched Voyager really think about it. This woman traveled the DQ and was constantly taking people under her wing. Seriously, need I share the image of that moment she saw Kes as someone she could protect? Or the way she just opens her arms to Kes in the hospital wing and Kes runs to her? Or maybe you need to see the way she looked at the Borg baby again? Or perhaps the way she is like “what do you mean i have crew members struggling? I shall personally take them on an away mission!” Or perhaps .... okay look this list could go on and I really dont want to get into the debate on the different ways of viewing J7 (because even I can I who sees it as maternal can see how people don’t and that’s a whole other post okay). Anyways, yes Sisko would have also been another great choice. But then you have to contend with all the prophet stuff again and honestly I think the show made the right choice on this. When Janeway was cast, when Voyager came out, Kate Mulgrew had to put up with SO MUCH CRAP. Like, to the point that even the mere idea of having a relationship on Voyager for Janeway was something Kate Mulgrew pushed back against because at that time she knew, she understood, how it would be taken.

This, right now, is the time for the Janeway character to truly shine. And for Kate Mulgrew to, as she said, embed in the character things she couldn’t do on screen before. Because now she will be in her own room doing voice. Which, in its own way does allow for such things. On top of that, we get to see Janeway in an entirely different arena. This isn’t gonna be Janeway The Starfleet Captain. This is going to be Kathryn Janeway, Captain to CHILDREN.

Like, I’m sorry but I can’t see her being that pulled in by protocols and guidelines anymore if she is not personally walking these kids back to base for STEALING A STARFLEET SHIP. Like, your telling me that Kathryn Janeway somehow comes across these kids who commandeer a Starfleet ship and she, PROTOCOL AND REGULATIONS JANEWAY just runs with it?

Look, not saying she wouldn’t but for her not to there has to be a reason. Janeway isn’t strictly all about protocol and regulations. (she is when its something extremely personal like ‘i may get hurt by this’ - i.e. if I allow myself to get to close to this person i love and let them in i may get hurt so time to pull protocols). This is the same person who broke the temporal prime directive to save her best friend and her entire ship. This is the same woman who violates other rules for her crew. She is willing to break protocol ... but for reasons.

Which tells me one thing ..... one of these teenagers (or all of them) is going to have extreme emotional value to our Kathryn Janeway either at the immediate start or by the end of the first episode. I’ve had a couple thoughts on this and I like the idea of it being Miral or one of Tuvok’s grandchildren. But honestly .... I also love the idea of them all being complete strangers she is completely ready to drag back to Starfleet for a firm lecture but then by the end of the ep she’s adopted them so she’s gonna raise them now.

WWE Elimination Chamber 2020 - Preview & Predictions

Nattie vs Liv Morgan vs Shayna Baszler vs Asuka vs Ruby Riott vs Sarah Morgan - Elimination Chamber Match - Winner Faces Becky Lynch At Wrestlemania

This is the main event?? Really? No offense to the girls but there’s only one winner in the match, the others haven't had feuds for months/ arent anywhere near a world title match at Mania quality/ have only recently returned from injury and isnt ready for the title feud just yet/ or should be in the middle of the build for a women’s tag title feud for Mania. This is bleak

They really have ONLY included Sarah Logan in the match just to solely have the Riott Squad former members face off for one spot, that’s it..... to even suggest she deserves this spot instead of Kairi is laughable. And that’s not even mentioning the fact that the IIconics haven't been on tv for what? 110 days is it now?

This is all Shayna build for the Becky match, any other winner results in a less heated match at Mania and isnt required. I still say that Shayna should have won the Rumble to really get her push started, and that Charlotte going to NXT didnt need her to win the Rumble to cause a big impact. Baszler dominates here for me, eliminates at least 4 of the others on way to victory with Becky Lynch stood cage side with a face of confidence slightly slipping after seeing the dominance - BASZLER

Unless Ronda takes out Nattie and enters the Chamber.......

Braun Strowman (c) vs Shinsuke Nakamura, Cesaro and Sami Zayn - 3 on 1 Handicap Match

Four guys I like in a match I couldn't care less about sadly.

Will Braun go over clean and destroy any of the oppositions chances of getting another title match anytime soon, or will others come to his aid to support him?

Will any of this matter tomorrow?

Will they just have a multi man match on this weeks Smackdown regardless to find the challenger for Braun at Mania? I guess so - STROWMAN 

Bobby Roode + Dolph Ziggler vs Heavy Machinery vs Lucha House Party vs The Uso’s vs John Morrison + The Miz (c) vs The New Day - Smackdown Tag Team Championship Elimination Chamber Match 

I imagine the guys involved here will have a number of spots planned for this to make the match memorable, as really the biggest spot of the match wont be the winners it will be Otis getting his hands on Ziggler............and the biggest cheer at Mania will be for Otis kissing Mandy as well.

So for this match I think we can obviously rule out the Lucha House Party, late substitutions for The Revival, as well as Roode/Ziggler and H Machinery as I see them fighting without the belts at Mania. So we are down to the front row of the image, for me I see the champs retain and we move to a three way for the belts at Mania between those teams - MORRISON/MIZ

Aleister Black vs AJ Styles - No DQ Match

I really wish this was on to put over Black as a massive threat and one of the next challengers for the title on Raw, sadly I think this ends with them building the Styles/Undertaker feud with Taker costing Styles the match and Black winning like an after thought.

I hope that puts Black in a position to go against Andrade down the road to take the title and elevate higher than its at currently (if he keeps the title that is)

But yeah this is all about the final moments of the match, the bout will see some great action but none of it will matter here as other things are more important for them.............unless they plan on Black/Taker vs The Club at Mania - BLACK

The Street Profits (c) vs Seth Rollins & Murphy - Raw Tag Team Championship Match 

So happy for the Profits to win the titles and hope they can retain tonight and keep them awhile longer facing great wrestlers to impress more.

The challengers dont need the titles, well Seth doesn't but Murphy could do with a belt to elevate his-self more but there are other options for that down the road - STREET PROFITS 

Andrade (c) vs Humberto Carrillo - United States Championship Match

These two always bring a great match when facing each other, id love for Andrade to keep the belt and move up to bigger challengers but it does feel like its time for Humberto to win the belt - CARRILLO

Daniel Bryan vs Drew Gulak

Im so happy that Bryan is getting to work with the guys he wants and help out others in getting better footing in the company.

Does he decide to try and put over Gulak to make him a serious threat, or just have a super competitive bout but ultimately take the win?

Whoever wins I hope Bryan carries this on and helps out others - BRYAN 

War Raiders vs The Boy Toyz

A late addition to the show on the kick off segment before the PPV, an easy one sided squash - RAIDERS

What a weird, strange looking card this is. Neither Lesnar or Goldberg are booked in a match, usually one of them has to defend in the chamber to make a massive men’s match but none of that’s happening tonight. So many great names are off this card with no sniff at being involved in the Mania build even slightly, straight to the battle royal for most I guess.

Hopefully afew of the matches should be great quality wise to enjoy and take in, and hell if not spend alittle money and join The Lapsed Fan’s Patreon and listen to their takes on the show and cry in laughter 

Everyone have fun and get your sleep in as the Wrestlemania card will probably start in afew days with how many matches they’ll have
