Imagine if we had a short film where Kate and Robert are playing Janeway and Chakotay, on an afternoon at the farm in Indiana, sitting on a bench watching the sunset. Janeway says casually, with her head resting on his shoulder, while he gives countless kisses on the back of her hand without needing any reason: "By the way, love, our daughter called. Said she's very excited for her new mission." And Chakotay simply answers: "She takes after her mother… if you're not careful, she'll be captain soon…" and Janeway says smiling proudly "As sure as daylight." Then Chakotay kisses her forehead, smelling her hair as he always did in the last few years and says "As sure as our love." Janeway feels a tear form in the corner of her eye, and caressing his face, answers "And as sure as I want a coffee right now… are you with me on this?" And he answers, kissing her hand once more: "Always!"

I really don't understand Trekkies who blame Alex Kurtzman for everything. Not because I think that Alex Kurtzman is a particularly good writer, but because he seems, by most accounts, to be an extremely hands-off executive producer. Like, if you can blame him for anything, it's that he probably doesn't do enough top-level management to ensure consistency and avoid redundancy between the various current Star Trek series.

Like, you can probably blame him for the three separate iterations of the whole "hostile aliens hijack Starfleet through their networking capabilities" plot, or the two separate iterations of the "character has their Starfleet career threatened when it comes out that they're an Augment" plot, or the "two separate tributes to the Battle of the Mutara Nebula from TWOK in 2023 alone" issue, or the fact that nobody seems to agree what's going on with the Borg post-"Endgame." Blaming him for lines of dialogue that you find cringe is just silly.

When I found out Paramount+ was removing Star Trek: Prodigy I bought all 20 episodes of S1 from Amazon Video since that was the only way for me to watch all 20 at the time. On 6/27, I lost access to episodes 10-20. Amazon has done what they can, which isn't much.

All 20 were accessible when I paid for all 20. The full season is what I was buying. Now, I only have access to 9 of the episodes.

What is the point of buying digital content if they're just going to steal it back from you afterwards?! Is this not false advertisement?

It was kind of fun at first how over the years the Star Trek subreddit always had people going "can I get a show that" and then they just describe Lower Decks or Prodigy, shows that are already airing.

But it's a lot less fun seeing that continue to happen after Lower Decks and Prodigy have been cancelled. What do you mean you're asking for a show about a new crew on a new ship in a new era? We had two of those and you aren't watching them. Stop being afraid of cartoons.

People got tricked by the references they forget that Lower Decks is the only modern Trek show that's a completely new crew on a new ship in a new era that isnt a prequel and has no legacy cast. I don't think people really get what we're losing tbh, given the current flagship show is a prequel that is increasingly focusing on the TOS cast over its original cast and people were on their knees begging for a show literally called Star Trek Legacy Characters.

Star Trek: Prodigy and Picard set the stage for future adventures for Wesley Crusher, potentially in upcoming Trek shows. I could see a spinoff for the character similar in tone to Doctor Who, and with Russell T. Davies making nods to Trek in his Disney+ series, now might be the perfect time for that show. I'm all for more Wesley in the future, so maybe some Trek creatives can put their heads together again and figure out a way for that to happen. Star Trek: Prodigy is available to watch right now on Netflix. Stream it now so that fans can see Season 3 happen, and maybe even tell a friend to watch as well so we can all have great sci-fi animated adventures in the future.

Yes! Exactly!! For the moments kisses were unnecessary. There was too much happening outside of their reunion to do more than the big damned thank you’re home hug.

Which in my opinion is just as intimate as a kiss. He was rubbing her back, they were holding each other tightly, cheeks close together. That hug was just as valid as any kiss would have been at that time.

i honestly love the Big Damn Hug during the j/c reunion, because to me, a Big Damn Kiss (while delightful in its own right) requires strong romantic tension building up to it. it's usually really good for passionate goodbyes, amongst other scenarios, but to Me, that just doesn't fit the vibes of their reunion. instead of a more passionate, tense moment, it's one of sheer desperation and joy. they can't believe they finally found each other. it's been years. they sincerely can't believe it. a tight hug just feels so much more raw, idk how to explain it.

a kiss can come later - they have a lot to talk about and a lot of personal business to settle - but for now, it's just overwhelming shock and relief - it's you. i can't believe my eyes. you're in my arms. you're safe. you're home.
