I think people do simplify the lords in black because frankly calling them evil is ***less*** scary then what they actually are.
uncaring.
at the end of the day the lib can't be called evil because to them hatchetfield is just a sims game. they're so above it all reality wise that it's like calling a tiger evil for eating and hunting an elk.
the idea that something so above is. with so much power. is just using us for entertainment is horrifying. they arent evil because evil would require them to be on the same level of us at all.
hatchetfield is to them just a fucked up game of sims. and thats horrifying.
#the lords in black#the layers of reality philosophy is FASCINATING#The idea the lords in black are basically in fact just another layer of reality abive hatchetfield#and we are in turn another layer above that#we control the lords in black and the lords in black control hatchetfield#although like all layers of reality we can dip even further but they cannkt reach up#for reference it would be#us (base reality) > lords in black > hatchetfield > the bbq monologs or pther styles of fiction within#yes thats needlessly complicated#yes its one of my favorite thought questions to keep me entertained for hours

yes, the lords in black are very silly. but can we just take a moment to appreciate how freaking terrifying they can be?? the interaction between hannah and the wiggly doll in black friday still creeps me out, the childish intonation and unsettling laugh and jolty pauses between wiggly's words are very effective. he says that he wants to eat hannah, he plans on ripping the president open and taking out his guts, he causes hundreds of deaths through the aggression caused by his toys. tinky controls time and uses it to play with people like they're toys, all the art of his goat form is so disturbing, his obsession with the spankoffskis is a big thing. "i'm gonna have the whole set in my toy box", anyone? nibby has an insatiable hunger, uses the melted flesh of pig corpses to go around hatchetfield swallowing people (like linda). he cares about nothing but his all-consuming need to eat. pokey succeeded in starting the apocolypse, using hatchetfield like a set in which to perform a musical of his own design, possessing people and using them as his stars. he wants everyone to be dead but him, controlling a hivemind of human puppets that tear each other apart and spread his infection further. blinky sees everything, refusing to let his workers blink and knowing what anyone and everyone is doing. he's the watcher with a thousand eyes, and takes enjoyment in watching bill and alice nearly kill each other.
they're honestly so unnerving, from their lack of care for human lives and bloodlust to their playful manner and habit of getting a little too invested in people. they see the citizens of hatchetfield as toys, and aren't afraid to break them. they're sadistic, violent, powerful gods.
and that's partly why i find it so funny that they choose to dress up in bright neon looking like an unhinged version of a kids' show's cast.

It happened again. I spotted patterns and one doesn't fit.
Blinky, Tinky
Wiggly, Nibbly
Pokey.
The Lords in Black can be easily paired up, due to name and point of interest. (Point of interest as in Blinky watches, Tinky has time travel, Wiggly is pretty much the embodiment of capitalism, and Nibbly hungers/possibly the embodiment of consumerism, similar to Wiggly.)
Blinky + Tinky
Obviously, they rhyme.
And I think they could team up and it would be really fun. Tinky could send a Hatchetfield citizen to a random time period and they would just watch them try and figure everything out. Very entertaining.
Wiggly + Nibbly
Half rhyme. Close enough.
Same vibe. Capitalism and consumerism. It still works if we go for the hunger, as displayed in Honey Queen, Nightmare Time 2, Black Friday is a clear display of the hunger the Hatchetfield citizens had to get a Wiggly doll, ideally four of them. They would lie, cheat and steal to get one, just like Linda/Noah did in HQ.
Pokey
He's just there, wanting a hivemind. The other Lords in Black seem to prefer manipulation to get their way, rather than straight up control.
They can also be paired up in complementary colours,
Purple and yellow - Blinky and Tinky
Green and red/pink - Wiggly and Nibbly
Blue and orange - Pokey and _____
Also his name doesn't fit, the others have:
Full name
Nickname
Title
Bliklotep - Blinky - The Watcher with a Thousand Eyes
T'noy Karaxis - Tinky - The Bastard of Time and Space
Wiggog Y'Wrath - Wiggly - The Lord in Black
Nibblenephim - Nibbly - The One Who Feasts in the Dark
Pokey has two nicknames, that are just the two halves of his full name
Pokotho - Pokey/Otho - The Singular Voice
I get that Otho, Yellow Jacket, Nightmare time 2, has a different name as he isn't the 'pure' form of Pokey as he's the 'blue shit' spliced with human DNA, still annoying.
Oh well I still love my theatre kid little shit 💙🎶

Hatchetfield Theory: Becky Barnes Has The Gift
So I wrote yesterday about how we might be underestimating how important Becky is to the overall narrative of Hatchetfield. After all, she's the Warrior of Light in Black Friday, and now we know that the original Workin' Boys script was about Wilbur Cross trying to sacrifice specifically Becky at a black altar--when it wasn't her that died, the whole thing fell apart.
The more I dwell on it, the more I think that Becky might have had a touch of the Gift as a child. Or even a tad more than just a touch... (Full theory under the cut. In typical me form, it does gets a little wild at the end.)
Perhaps, like with Lex, her powers were strong enough that they never fully wasted away, even as she grew out of the correct age and forgot they ever existed in the first place. This could be what makes her the Warrior of the Light, and explain why Wiggly's hold on her was more tenuous than his grasp on any of the other adults. Think about it--unlike Tom or any of the others, she only ever seems to personally care much about the doll when she's face-to-face with it and its thrall is strongest. And whereas Tom required a whole scene and climatic song to throw off Wiggly's influence and see the truth, Becky went from attacking Hannah over the doll in one scene to shooting Linda and letting Lex burn the very same Wiggly in the next. Maybe, when she accidentally knocked herself out with the shot, the Gift lurking in her subconscious was able to take hold and completely free her from Wiggly's control.
So if Becky did have enough power that she still retains some of the Gift into adulthood, like a somewhat less powerful Lex, that could be what Wilbur needed for his Workin' Boys ritual. Hannah would have been too young and important, and Lex could have been unreachable or not usable for some other reason (I think a lot about how Wilbur and Lex seem to have the same power, but that's another post), so Becky it was. Since we now know that Wilbur, erm, crosses between timelines (geddit?), he could even have possibly chosen her because of what happened in Black Friday.
And then there's the tree. As @kmesons pointed out, the one thing we really know about Becky's childhood, outside of her high school cheerleading and relationship, is that at some point she rather famously climbed a tree and refused to come down for two days. So my question is, what if it was not a regular tree, but part of the Witchwood? After all, the "Becky Barnes Climbed A Tree" song implies that the tree in question was quite large, and we know that things grow fast and big in the Wood. Maybe, like the Fosters, the Barnes lived on the edge of the forest. If Becky had a strong touch of the Gift, could she have struck a bond with the gifted person planted inside of this particular tree, a-la Hannah in The Witch in the Web? The fact that Becky's tree climb is the namesake for a whole Nightmare Time story indicates that there's some supernatural element to the situation, and that could definitely be a start. And (told you we'd get a little wild) if she did befriend a planted kid, and climb their tree for reasons as of yet unknown, could that tree have given her something? Knowledge or some other powerful gift that the Lords don't want her to have, and yet makes her a warrior?
(And we can't forget Stanley, the abusive husband who chases her into the Witchwood in a brutal fight to the death. Who loses the fight and disappears, last seen lying bleeding out among the trees... perhaps trees just like the one she climbed as a child, trees grown from children that had been just like her. We've been focused on how the fight taking place in the Witchwood could easily mean that Stanley's still alive, or at least undead, but what if it's the other way around? What if the trees helped her?)

I had a Hatchetfield theory - a Hatchetheory if you will:
We all know that Hatchetfield unapologetically hates Clivesdale, and during ‘Go Nighthawks’ in Nerdy Prudes Must Die the lights flash green when the ensemble sings “Fuck you Clivesdale!” - a Tumblr commenter said something about how that could be Wiggly’s influence, so I started thinking to myself, what if there's something deeper here? The Lords in Black have a lot of control over Hatchetfield, and what’s the one thing they hate? Their sister Webby. So I was thinking, what if Webby is protecting Clivesdale, and the Lords in Black hate that place and make the citizens of Hatchetfield hate it because they hate their sister?

Here's what you missed on Hatchetfield...
Okay so Nerdy Prudes Must Die is happening in a month's time and I'm aware that lots of people who enjoyed guy who didn't like musicals and black friday might not have had time to watch nightmare time. While Nick has said this musical will be fully stand alone and no knowledge of nightmare time is required, nonetheless some of you might be curious about what we've learned that might come up
Presenting a tldr lore drop for nightmare time:
1) Wiggly has brothers (aka the Lords in Black)
You remember Wiggly from black friday? That ugly green little fucker? Well turns out he has brothers. They call themselves the Lords in black because they're pretentious little fucks and they all have different 'powers'.
Itemised list
Pokey (pokotho) - mind control type stuff, likes to make hiveminds
Wiggly (Wiggog Y'wrath) - idk you saw black friday whatever the fuck goes on there
Blinky (blinklotep) - massive eye, likes watching things
Tinky (T'noy karaxis) - fucks with time
Nibbly (nibblenephem) - massive mouth, eats shit
You've actually met Pokey before - remember the blue shit from guy who didn't like musicals? That's the same blue shit leaking out of the cracks in pokey's face in the picture above.
They also have a sister called Webby that I believe Hannah references in Black Friday. We don't know much about her but thus far she seems like a good guy
2) Grace Chasity is a nerdy prude
Remember the girl Bill is trying to set Alice up in guy who didn't like musicals because 'at least she's nice to him in church'?
Well turns out Alice was right. Grace Chasity is a nerdy prude. And also coincidentally one of the main characters of Nerdy Prudes Must Die (to be played by Angela Giarratana).
We meet her in nightmare time 2 (episode 2 part 2) which takes place at a religious camp designed to educate people about the perils of pre marital sex.
Grace Chasity is, well she's many things, but she is very much the stereotype of an American evangelical Christian. She even showers with a swimming costume on so as not to tempt herself into sin.
Despite all this, however, she is a devious motherfucker who will absolutely fuck you up
3) You remember Ted from guy who didn't like musicals...
Well not only are he and the homeless guy the same person (time travel, its a whole thing, blame the yellow guy from the Lords in black photo)
But also we learn that his surname is Spankoffski (because of course it is) and he has a 'nerdy little brother' called Pete Spankoffski who will be one of the leads in nerdy prudes. In nightmare time he's played by Nick Lang but in nerdy prudes he'll be played by Joey Richter
We meet Pete in nightmare time 2 (episode 2 part 2) but we've actually met him before in guy who didn't like musicals. You remember hot chocolate boy? The one who had very low blood sugar?
Yup you guessed it that is one Peter Spankoffski
(If you've been super out of the loop and are wondering why he was recast and for that matter where the heck is Robert anyway just trust that that is a whole thing im not going to get into and it's for the best he's gone)
4) Meet the Lauters
Two more characters who have been announced for NPMD who we met in nightmare time 2 are Stephanie Lauter (Mariah Rose Faith) and her father Solomon Lauter (Corey Dorris)
Steph is actually pretty nice and chill on the inside but definitely has a reputation for being a bit of a party animal/wild child.
This isn't helped by her father who is the mayor of hatchetfield and from what little we see of him will always put his career before his daughter.
Steph and Pete hook up in nightmare time so look out for a possible romance between these two
5) What the fuck is a Holloduke?
You may have seen the word 'holloduke' batted a lot around this fandom lately which refers to the ship of two characters that we've been introduced to through nightmare time.
While it's unclear if either of them will appear in nerdy prudes, given that both Kim and Curt are in the cast and they go a long way out of their way in nightmare time to show Kim's character getting a job at Hatchetfield High in set up for *something* a lot of people think there's a good chance she at least will be appearing.
The Hollo of these characters is called Miss Holloway although at the end of nightmare time she ends up ret conning herself and is forced to assume a new identity as Miss Holiday so if we meet her in nerdy prudes that will likely be her name. She is a witch who has a deep love for all things 80s. We don't know a huge amount about her but that might be because she's cursed(?) so that anything she reveals about her backstory will be instantly wiped from the mind of the listener.
Curts character is an ordinary social worker called Duke who among other things works with Hannah and Lex when they're having troubles with their mum. He's in love with Miss Holloway/Holiday, and it's reciprocated, but due to the curse(?) et al things keep not quite working out for them.
They're both absolutely wonderful people who deserve the world and are absolute OTP fodder
6) The Gift
We don't know a huge amount about this yet but we do know that some people in Hatchetfield, notably including Hannah from black friday have something called 'the gift' which gives them some loose powers
Most people grow out of the gift as they go through puberty, for instance Lex also used to have it, but they may be able to use it in some scenarios (such as manifesting a firearm from the black and white as Lex does in Black Friday)
People with the gift were historically persecuted in Hatchetfield by a group of people called 'the hatchet men' who may or may not have turned them into trees(?)
7) The Black Book
There is a book of spells called the black book which Miss Holloway/Holiday uses to do her magic

Theory on Hatchetfield Ghosts
From what we see, the ghosts in Hatchetfield tend to be a bit, well... crazed. Here is my theory for this. See, it's pretty self explanatory with Max, he was already a literal monster when alive, and the Waylon place was enchanted by the lords in black. So yeah no wonder he became what I shall refer, a rabid dog. However, if we look at the Working Boys, those ghosts had no specific reason other than pettiness, and supporting Hidgens in his own dislike at his changes towards his musical. But if you actually think about it. A lightning strike is not a murder, there's no exact reason for them to be vengeful. However, I'd say, they were even more feral and rabid than Max was. So here is where I say, normally, a ghost is either bound to the Black or White, or even in the Void. Or as me and @thunder-birb-00 refer to it. The Second Dimension. Anyhow, whenever a ghost is left to roam Hatchetfield however, without settling in any specific afterlife dimension. They become a rabid dog. At first, they can start out like Max, more or less in control of every action they take, but perhaps a lil more trigger happy. But as time goes on, years, months, however long it takes the become more and more unhinged, deranged... until they become a danger to even their own loved ones....
Although the Lords in Black love chaos, they technically like a chaos of their own making, or influences. And such, they don't like to leave rabid ghosts too long in Hatchetfield, sure its fun for a lil while, but, Hatchetfield is their playground, not a dead spirit's.
Of course, it's more fun to let the humans get desperate enough to seek their help. They'd be willing to give away, or do anything in order to rid themselves of a rabid ghost.

Okay I have been thinking about the Hatchetfield Timeline again. And what will not leave my mind, is that the basissituation for TGWDLM and Blackfriday are incredibly similar but completly different from the one in NPMD.
While we are introduced into a world full of problems in the first two (the issues between Bill and Alice, Charlotte just being incredibly unhappy, the conflict between Tim and Tom, every single issue Becky Barnes is facing). The characters we are introduced to have one Thing in common: there biggest wish is to change their surroundings because their Situation is becoming unbearable to them (Paul is an exeption but I'll come to that later). For short: We are met with people with strong wishes and intentions, which in the longrun lead to them being used by the Lords in Black because they seem to be able to fulfill their wishes.
Now I think this differs hugely from the Situation in the beginning of NPMD. We are met with a bunch of Highschool student who are all quite unhappy with their situation but they arent desperate for power to change their situation because they are facing normal school problems (bullying, grades and similar). The characters are aware that these problems will disapear when they grow older and leave highschool. Highschool is killing them, not life. That is until Max dies and his issue is now not not being able to get the girl he wants but an unmet incredibly strong desire for revenge. All of the sudden the situation is different and while it is noted that people go missing in Hatchetfield everyday, people are suddendly very worried about the murders. Something has changed.
What has changed is that Max Jägerman had a need, a wish he wanted to be fulfilled more then anything else, which in my opinion opened him up for the Lords in Black. The entirerty of TGWDLM is about the followers of Pokey trying to figure out what Paul wants because that is what Pokey needs to have an access to his mind and controll it. Linda becomes Wigglys prophet after explaining what she wants. Max comes back as a demon after proclaiming his final wish with his last breath. The Lords in Black need to know exactly what a person desire to access them. That is why Pokey had such a hard time with Paul because he has no desire conquering all others until he lost everything and just wants the catastrophe around him to end.
These different set-ups make me believe that NPMD is a prequel to the other two. I think the events in NPMD happen in every timeline and lead to different chain reactions triggering the other events such as those in Black Friday, TGWDLM, Watcher World and most other Nightmaretime episodes. Max Jägerman and through him later Grace Chasity, who now shares her big desire for revenge with Max, bring the Lords in Black back into Hatchetfield and make them able to have their way with the town.
In conclusion: NPMD is a prequel to almost every other story happening in Hatchetfield (some nightmaretimes episodes such as Time Bastard have a similar status to NPMD) because it shows how desire and pain find their way into the town.

genuine question for hatchetfield fans
how do you believe each of the lords in black manifest their powers ??
ill go first
Pokey: This is the most obvious as we know he can actively take over people in hatchetfield/outside of the black and white using blue shit, but i also believe he can cause hallucinations (similar to what Lex experiences in Yellow Jacket at Toy Zone) where he appears as the doll in visions or people start to hallucinate blue shit everywhere around them in the place of blood.
Wiggly: Wiggly appears as the doll and can clearly cause mass hysteria/infatuation with him, but that power seems to not work on everyone (Lex and Hannah are good examples). The way that Wiggly can cause this kind of hysteria is by preying on anyone who deeply feels like they are missing something in their life, so i think his main power is manipulation of those he sees as weak or in need. I also believe he likes to send out his followers (like wilbur) to do his dirty work for him, rather than putting in the effort himself life the capitalist overlord he truly is. He is not actually the most physically powerful of his brothers, but he is the smartest in his manipulation tactics to stay the leader of the group.
Blinky: Blinky either can take over others in a way similar to Pokey without fully taking away their consciousness. Or he is able to send minions outside of the black and white similar to Wiggly. Either way, he will always be the watcher. He doesn’t use his powers as often to create mayhem, but he enjoys watching others suffer and creating drama. His main power manifests through the purple eyes that are always watching in different corners of hatchetfield, but I also believe he can cause overwhelming anger and panic in the people he decided to mess with. He can control the emotions of others to cause chaos that he likes watch. (an explanation of how Bill got so crazy at Blinky’s World)
Tinky: Tinky is difficult to say as his intervention in the only episode that revolves around him is seemingly all in Ted’s head. I think that he is able to create rifts in the time space continuum like Ted’s office, and in those little spaces he has power to worm his way into peoples heads. Giving them hope of the future and then using that to his advantage to take that away. Eventually trapping those he messes with in the bastardards box. He loves breaking people down piece by piece through his time manipulation.
Nibbly: Nibbly is really interesting to me, specifically because he doesn’t seem to affect anyone outside of the day of the Honey Festival. I think he’s entirely fueled by hunger and greed with very little brains or scheming unlike his brothers. But I do like the concept that he can cause a ravaging amount of greed in anyone he wants to possess. Sometimes that’s hunger, sometimes it’s for material possessions or money. His followers seem to be filthy rich, and filled with a hunger for more power. When he feels like messing with someone he causes them to ruin their relationships surrounding them through an uncontrollable greed.
These are mostly just headcanons so let me know what you all think, and if you guys have any other ideas for powers with each of them!

Alright some things ive figured out about the lords in black:
Pokey: sense of sound, feeds on hidden desires. Can make people sing. The first play made it a body snatcher element. In general its inplied that all songs and dance numbers in hatchetfield are diagetic and because of him. People singing their hearts desire is how he feeds. The alter hes associated with is the starlight theater
Wiggly: sense of touch, feeds on consumerism. The oldest and most manipulative. Has human proxies and seems the most physically active. Can drive up peoples desires to obsession and violence. Wants to be worshipped. Has access to the sniggles. Alter is the hatchetfeild mall, formerly the hatchetfeild mill.
Blinky: sense of sight. Feeds on drama? Vouristic. Likes watching violence and manipulating people into believing the worst. In control of the sniggles. Alter is unconfirmed but they have an amusement park.
Tinky: sense of smell (less confirmed but the nose is their biggest feature and theyre described as smelling bad). Feeds on nostalgia. Has the power to loop time and is why we see different timelines after everyone dies. He starts hatchetfeild over so he and his siblings can keep feeding on its people. Alter is unconfirmed but could be Downtown? Or the highschool which is downtown?
Nibbly: sense of taste. Feeds on passion, hunger, and desire. Consumes people who want the most. Associated with gore and meat. Unconfirmed but is likely tied to the 'nothing stays dead if its buried there' magic. Not just with the Waylon place but also perkins buds and how the land itself is full of life and can grow anything. Also shown with undead pigs. Alter is the waylon place based on that guess. They also seem to be associated with the woods.

So I’ve been running a Hatchetfield game for my friends using the Kids on Bikes system. I love the system and that parts going great, and I absolutely loved the episodes we’ve done so far. I’ve been framing them as episodes where they play the same characters in different timelines, against different Lords in Black.
The first game was against Nibbly, they played their two high school characters, whose friend and student council president was possessed by Nibbly at a young age, and as she reached her 18th birthday, had less and less control of herself. It was a lovely little story, and in the end they triumphed freeing their friend from Nibbly’s clutches.
The second game was against Wiggly, who was using a film being made in Hatchetfield as a ritual to be brought forth into the world, with Wilbur Cross being the main villain. They played their adult characters in this game, and lost to Wiggog. But the way they lost made for probably one of the best and most interesting games of a ttrpg I’ve DM’ed. It also felt like a true Hatchetfield ending in my eyes. I wanna make a full post about this episode later bc it is wild.
We are on our third game of it now and this is my reason for making this post to begin with. They’re playing their high school characters again for this one against Tinky. And I will tell you, writing for a plot about T’Noy Karaxis is the hardest thing I’ve done for this game so far. I hate the Time Bastard so much. And I feel like I have the same trouble for a Pokey episode, they’re really hard to come up with an original idea for them.
That said I feel like the choice of Kids on Bikes was perfect for the game, and would be excited to hear if anyone else has attempted a similar thing for Hatchetfield. Blinky is also the main overarching antagonist rather than Wiggly for my games… bc I love Blinky. All these timelines and stories are building up to what will be a major confrontation, but I know my players might see this post so I can’t say anything about that yet…

Do the Lords in Black get along? Or even like each other?
I've been thinking a lot about how each LiB has a different method for chaos, and most of them are very independent of each other. Nibbly is content as long as he has sacrifices and people to eat. Tinky focuses on Ted (and maybe other bastards he keeps in his toy box). Blinky is just an iPad kid who treats the world like the Sims. But then you get to the other two...
Both Pokey and Wiggly want to rule/destroy the world. We don't know Wiggly's motivation for this, if he even has one, but we know Pokey's. He hates every voice that is not his own, and wants to assimilate the world into him. Does that include his brothers? Does he find them just as grating and disgusting as humanity?
We rarely see the Lords in Black together. Granted, we haven't seen them much in grand scheme of things, but with the exception of Nerdy Prudes Must Die (where they were all summoned to the same place), they seem to all be doing their own thing. Do they ever work together? Or are they just off in their own little universes causing their own chaos.
My personal headcannon is that each of the Lords has a section of the Hatchetfield multiverse that is theirs to control. Their power is spread across all of them, but it can only be accessed by people within the universe evoking it (like with the black book). The lords themselves cannot gain control in these universes. Watcher World and the Honey Festival only exist in Blinky and Nibbly's universes respectively. Ted is only the homeless man in the universes that Tinky holds power over (my hot takes on Ted and the homeless man are a post for another day). Pokey's meteor can crash down in TGWDLM because it is in Pokey's domain. Wiggly rules the black and white but also has his own universes under his domain (like the one in Black Friday).
Circling back around to Pokey though, it does bring up the question of Yellow Jacket. This should be Nibbly's universe, but Pokey resides inside it. Not just his power, he has a physical form. He never broke the rules because his power and his consciousness were brought down by the scientists studying the meteor, but he does still attempt to encroach on Nibbly's domain.
I think Pokey has his sights set on more than just Hatchetfield. He wants everything to be him. Wiggly is strong enough to keep him in line, especially with the other Lords backing him up, but the dissent is there. It peaks through in the little moments between them.
"Don't frighten them Pokey, you nasty boy."

So…..a few months ago I convinced my sibling to let me make the NPMD characters on the sims, just for laughs. Well that snowballed into creating all of Hatchetfield. And over the course of this some iconic things have occurred in the game that we’ve decided we need to share with the fandom, so welcome to our Sims blog! -👁️
The main point of this blog is that during the months we’ve been playing we’ve acquired a lot of ridiculous screen shots as we try to make a “plot” of sorts.
Things to keep in mind:
We have stuck pretty close to canon, but this is our versions of Hatchetfield. We have our own headcanons and fave ships, if you don’t agree that’s totally cool, but please keep it civil if you disagree.
(I like to call our version of HF the happy ending version, you know, if everything went sort of right)
We are still in the process of making every character(there’s a lot)
Not every character we have put in gets played, our main sets we play with are the Nerds(+ Steph & Max), Paulkins & Ted.
We might take some liberties with the characters because we prefer to play a relatively unmodded game. (I don’t have it in me to go CC hunting rnow-⏳) At the moment we just have command center & a high school classmates mod for ease of control.
Some of our sims are from scratch & some we found on the gallery then made edits to.
Posts about the game/gameplay will be tagged #thehatchetsims.
There are two of us running this blog! Since we're siblings + controlling the sims feels very lords in black behavior, we started referring to ourselves after our favorites, so on this blog we're going by Tinky ⏳ & Blinky 👁.

Starkid fam I have thoughts about a lyric from The Summoning in Nerdy Prudes but I don’t know if I remember enough Hatchetfield lore to make it mean anything lol
In the song the Lords in Black sing
“We dancе around the pentagram
And take all our kingdoms back”
The taking our kingdoms back part seems significant? Like as though the Black and White is *not* their kingdom, but maybe they have been banished/trapped there and previously were rulers of their own individual kingdoms?
Although they have a lot of power and control if they’re meant to be trapped in the Black and White.
But maybe they have to achieve something each in order to regain power/their kingdoms and that’s why the timelines reset/there are so many alternate ones, because they aren’t achieving what needs to happen in order for them to ‘win’?
I remember seeing somewhere once, not sure if it’s right, that the Hatchetfield trilogy takes place in reverse - eg NPMD is first, then BF, then TGWDLM, in which case was this summoning of the LiB what starts everything that happens in all the other shows eg ‘you summon us once you summon us twice’ and ‘forever in our debt’? Like once it happens in one timeline they’ve been summoned in all of them? And Stephanie and the gang all belong to the LiB in every timeline because of the deal they made over Jagerman in this timeline?
Idk I just thought it was an interesting line and things in the Hatchetfield shows are usually quite pointed - would love to hear other peoples more coherent thoughts on this line!

I’m currently in the process of writing all six chapters of a new Hatchetfield fic (finished chapter three this morning) because I want to upload all six chapters together. It’s called ‘A Little Eldritch’, and it’s a collection of short one shots that are snapshots of the childhoods of Linda Murray/Monroe, Paul Matthews, Theodore Spankoffski, William ‘Bill’ Woodward and Hannah Foster, and how the eldritch abilities of the gods they’re tied to manifested in their childhoods. To give you a taster of this fic, here’s the entirety of the first chapter, the Prologue, straight from the PEIP archives:
Item #1086 from the PEIP Archives
Date of Creation: 1820s
Creator of Item: Willabella Muckwab
Item Retrieved From: The Old Waylon Place
Previous Owners: The Waylon Family/The Church of the Starry Children
Item: Excerpt from the Black Book which reads as follows:
And thus our esteemed gods shalt claim six mortals of powerful blood as their own, to toy with and control. Therefore their will shalt be done by the half eldritch puppets, more apparent in their youth yet masked by the wearisome indifference of their elder years. If not contained in their childhoods, Hatchetfield shall surely be reduced to ash and fire and blood, and lo our gods shalt rejoice! Praise be to our Lords in Black and Webbine Y’Weave, our Lady in White!

Case File 98
Compiled By: Colonel Schaffer
Subject Matter: The young prophets of the six eldritch gods
Prophet #1 Linda Murray:
Prophet of: Wiggog Y’Wrath and Nibblenephim (it has not been confirmed as the girl shows evidence of both gods as her patron)
Evidence of Eldritch Involvement: Unnatural levels of hunger/greed and witness reports of shadowy tentacles emerging from the child’s sides when she is angered
Temperament: A spoiled, selfish yet clever child prone to fits of rage if she is not appeased, disliked by her widowed father, a lonely childhood starved of love could explain her behaviour
Danger Level: 5/10 (Linda Murray is, thankfully, an easy enough child to appease if you have access to wealth, all studies conclude that she is not much of a threat for our organisation or the world at large)
Prophet #2 Paul Matthews:
Prophet of: Pokotho
Evidence of Eldritch Involvement: Glowing blue eyes when emotions are heightened, a powerful reaction to music of any kind (the boy will stand to attention, tears in his eyes when he hears music, specifically musical theatre, but reportedly finds music of any kind ‘uncomfortable’ to listen to), and an over eagerness from those around him to obey him (particularly when his eyes glow)
Temperament: A calm, level headed child who wishes only for the happiness of those around him, seems to despise the powers and great loves of his patron
Danger Level: 8/10 (As General MacNamara says, the quiet ones are the ones to look out for - according to all studies, the boy is the most likely to be dangerous if he ever does lose his temper)
Prophet #3 Theodore Spankoffski
Prophet of: T’noy Karaxis
Evidence of Eldritch Involvement: The boy evidently possesses the ability to stop and manipulate time (those who spend time with him report to their minds feeling ‘fuzzy’ after they have displeased him, and indicate that they’re struggling to recall the exact amount of time that passed during interactions with the child)
Temperament: Theodore Spankoffski appears to be a kind child (more cruelly referred to as a ‘pushover’) but it has been observed that there is a darker side to his nature that only presents itself if he is threatened or intimidated in any way (the only times when his abilities manifest are during moments of high stress and fear such as bullying)
Danger Level: 1/10 (We have nothing to fear or expect from the Spankoffski child - he is most likely a plaything as opposed to a prophet)
Prophet #4 William ‘Bill’ Woodward
Prophet of: Bliklotep
Evidence of Eldritch Involvement: A hyper intense focus on anything that he watches and a mild ability to manipulate events to produce a satisfying outcome (rarely used - the boy is mostly ordinary) and a keen attention to detail (explained away as a photographic memory, like with Bliklotep’s other prophets/playthings)
Temperament: An unassuming child who only drew our organisation’s attention due to his photographic memory and (according to teachers) ‘intense, frightening stare’
Danger Level: 3/10 (Bliklotep is not a powerful Lord, his chosen human representatives never lead to any major problems for the world at large - keep an eye on the boy but don’t prioritise him)

Compiled By: Colonel Schaffer
Subject Matter: The young prophets of the six eldritch gods
Updated On: 12th July 2009
Prophet #6 Hannah Foster
Prophet of: Webbine Y’Weave
Evidence of Eldritch Involvement: Hannah Foster has the ability to see into other timelines and frequently communicates with the Queen in White Webbine Y’Weave, becoming aware of prophecies (this knowledge was directly provided to us by the goddess who is beginning to work more closely with our organisation to ensure the safety of her young prophet) and to a casual observer the girl appears ‘haunted’ by something that only she can see (the Queen in White appears to her as an ‘imaginary [giant white] spider from space’)
Temperament: A gentle child who appears to be traumatised by her visions but has normalised her supernatural patron as merely a friend - lacks trust for most people and can only be convinced to cooperate by the Queen in White, an older acquaintance named Ethan Green, and her older sister/sole caregiver Alexandra ‘Lex’ Foster
Danger Level: 0/10 (Her patron supports us, so her prophet is not a cause for concern - in fact she may prove useful with her visions in the future)

tellmemore about ictd...pleasase e/nf
has been sitting in my drafts for almost exactly 24 hours. hell yes i will i <3 ictd. welcome to: random facts and story beats + some characterizations that matter (and an intro to the series since people have never heard of it somehow /lh)
cursory warning for mentions of death, brief mentions of cannibalism and stalking.
remember the masterpost is in my pinned with more info!! enjoy!
ictd starts during the summoning, where things spiral out of control for our main characters.
- ictd is a fic series where the lords in black (and webby) and a greater amount of control over hatchetfield! they're deeply connected to the land as well as any plant or creature born to or on that land. i.e. everybody who was born in hf.
- their grip is stronger and meaner in the witchwood. this is why people like lumberaxe and the metzgers are the way they are.
- they also have "districts", where children born are more likely to fall into a specific connection (like downtown, where pokeys strongest, or the old kids district where nibbly's stronger). i havent exactly worked out the map of the island yet, so this is a work in progess
- connection level ranges from 0 (non native to hf) to 10 (a lord), and power falls along with this. higher number, more power. the current strongest human or human-adjacent character is lumberaxe at a 9. anybody above an 8 is likely to appear slightly off or inhuman. the most common levels are 2-4, the least are 0 and 10, of course
- pete, steph and grace (called 'the three' or 'our three') are all 3-6 when the series starts. they'll wind up being 7s or 8s by the end. we get to see them evolve :]
- all three have physical changes immediately. grace grows eyes in odd places, pete grows horns and excessive hair on his legs thats painful to touch for months, steph grows sharper teeth. i bet you can guess who's connected to which lord
- a lot of people die. your faves might die. my dead list isnt done yet. they all have a role in max, ruth, and richies storyline. i have to start have my ictd posts with "i killed your blorbo, im sorry" (see linda, zoey, the metzgers eventually)
- a fun fact: blinky has the most people so far, webby has the least!
- lots of bad things like cannibalism and stalking happen. often. "its hatchetfield", they say. people go missing constantly, and turn up dead or half dead. eventually.
- the clivesdale rivalry is one-sided, and fueled by the lords. any hatchetfield citizen will deadass kill a chemist. for fun. the lords find this entertaining, including webby.
- any connection (alignment) to any lord causes illness. what type differs between lord, and intensity varies from person to person. miss holloway and sheila young have it the worst.
ok, ill save you a full blown essay. this is most of the things i haven't gotten a chance to talk about before now :]
